When you have, let's say, a complete ban 0:07:47.200 --> 0:07:51.240 on handguns. And yet every single time there's been either 0:07:51.320 --> 0:07:54.400 a ban on all guns or all handguns any place 0:07:54.440 --> 0:07:57.600 in the world, murder rates have gone up, often by 0:07:58.040 --> 0:08:02.680 very large amounts. And you know, you think got randomness, 0:08:03.000 --> 0:08:05.040 at least once or twice it would go down, and 0:08:05.120 --> 0:08:07.800 yet every time it's gone up. And there's a simple 0:08:07.880 --> 0:08:09.560 reason for them. That is, when you go in to 0:08:09.720 --> 0:08:13.480 ban guns, it's the most law abiding good citizens who 0:08:13.520 --> 0:08:16.640 obey the ban, not the criminals. And even if you 0:08:16.720 --> 0:08:18.880 take a few guns away from the criminals, if you're 0:08:18.880 --> 0:08:24.160 primarily disarming law abiding good citizens, you make it easier 0:08:24.240 --> 0:08:26.920 for criminals to go and commit crimes. But we've seen 0:08:26.960 --> 0:08:29.360 this in many cases. You know, we have all the 0:08:29.440 --> 0:08:32.760 states now that are supposed to be issuing concealed carry permits. 0:08:34.040 --> 0:08:37.800 When those laws got passed time after time, gun control 0:08:37.920 --> 0:08:41.880 advocates were claiming that crime would increase, that the permit 0:08:41.960 --> 0:08:45.720 holders would be going in committing crimes. And yet six 0:08:45.840 --> 0:08:48.480 months or a year after these laws get into effect 0:08:48.520 --> 0:08:51.719 in a state, there's no discussion about it anymore. And 0:08:51.840 --> 0:08:53.880 the reason is simple is because they know that the 0:08:53.960 --> 0:08:57.720 predictions that they were making didn't come true. No state 0:08:57.840 --> 0:09:01.440 that's adopted a right to carry law or constitutional carry law, 0:09:02.520 --> 0:09:06.920 had even had a vote on rescinding those laws. Even 0:09:07.000 --> 0:09:11.640 when you have Democrats take over the state legislatures after 0:09:11.800 --> 0:09:15.240 those laws have gotten passed, you would think if there 0:09:15.400 --> 0:09:18.559 was actual evidence in those states that it had accomplished 0:09:18.600 --> 0:09:23.160 the opposite of what the proponents were claiming, you would 0:09:23.160 --> 0:09:25.080 have seen at least votes on it, even if they 0:09:25.120 --> 0:09:28.280 couldn't muster enough support to get it passed. They didn't have lock 0:10:37.679 --> 0:10:41.040 boxes like they do today and fingerprints safes like they 0:10:41.120 --> 0:10:43.679 do today, and they wanted to make sure that I 0:10:43.800 --> 0:10:46.880 was familiar with it and familiar with the safety procedures. 0:10:47.040 --> 0:10:50.360 And it also created a passion at a very young 0:10:50.440 --> 0:10:54.400 age for me. The Bureau of Justice Statistics 0:11:51.360 --> 0:11:55.840 shows that with total violent crime has increased fifty five 0:11:55.920 --> 0:11:58.480 percent during the buy An administration. We've had a forty 0:11:58.520 --> 0:12:02.080 two percent increase in rapes, a sixty three percent increase 0:12:02.160 --> 0:12:05.840 in armed robbery, We've had a fifty five percent increase 0:12:05.920 --> 0:12:11.000 in aggravated assaults. There's never been in the fifty years 0:12:11.280 --> 0:12:13.599 that the Bureau of Justice Statistics has been putting the 0:12:13.679 --> 0:12:17.440 data together on total violent crimes, there's never been such 0:12:17.440 --> 0:12:22.199 a large percentage increase over three years. The people are the most likely victims of 0:13:13.320 --> 0:13:16.480 violent crime, and that overwhelming tends to be poor blacks 0:13:16.520 --> 0:13:20.000 who live in high crime urban areas. Democrats claim that 0:13:20.120 --> 0:13:23.240 they care about minorities, that they care about the poor, 0:13:23.720 --> 0:13:26.200 and yet who do they think get hurt by cutting 0:13:26.320 --> 0:13:30.640 police budgets and by having prosecutors who don't prosecute violent criminals. 0:13:31.200 --> 0:13:33.560 The other group of people who benefit the most are 0:13:33.600 --> 0:13:36.840 people who are relatively weaker physically, women and the elderly. 0:13:37.400 --> 0:13:41.000 They are almost always talking about a young male criminal 0:13:41.160 --> 0:13:43.760 doing the attack, and when a man is attacking a 0:13:43.840 --> 0:13:47.600 woman or an elderly person, there's a lot larger strength 0:13:47.640 --> 0:13:50.240 difference that exists. There than when a man is attacking 0:13:50.280 --> 0:13:53.400 another man, and the presence of a gun represents by 0:13:53.559 --> 0:13:58.199 far the biggest change in those people's ability to go 0:13:58.520 --> 0:14:02.120 and protect themselves.
