Worth taken a look through his research, Jodie 0:10:04.559 --> 0:10:07.400 discovered that there have been at least three recent cases 0:10:07.400 --> 0:10:11.760 in By County involving multiple homicides. Cases like the January 0:10:11.800 --> 0:10:16.000 twenty sixteen murders of Candice Newsom and her teenage daughter Christina. 0:10:16.160 --> 0:10:21.080 They were both shot execution style in their home. Police 0:10:21.120 --> 0:10:23.720 finally did arrest the Newsom's neighbor for their murders. In 0:10:23.800 --> 0:10:27.520 twenty nineteen, neighbor Christian R. Davis was indicted by a 0:10:27.559 --> 0:10:30.520 grand jury, but did not please nor has he been convicted, 0:10:30.920 --> 0:10:33.600 but there was plenty of chatter on social media, none 0:10:33.600 --> 0:10:36.200 of which can be confirmed, mentioning the possibility of an 0:10:36.200 --> 0:10:42.240 accomplice to the murders still at large. Candice Newsome's sister, 0:10:42.320 --> 0:10:45.920 Darla has even spoken publicly she thinks that her sister 0:10:45.960 --> 0:10:49.000 and niece's murder may be related to the Rodents, stating 0:10:49.000 --> 0:10:53.560 that they ran in the same circles. What struck me 0:10:53.600 --> 0:10:57.240 about Candice and Christina and was just the fact the 0:10:57.320 --> 0:10:59.680 similarities between, Like just the idea that in the middle 0:10:59.679 --> 0:11:02.000 of the night these people were gunned down in their 0:11:02.080 --> 0:11:05.960 homes while they slept. Just it's it is striking, you know, 0:11:06.040 --> 0:11:08.920 before even reading any other details, just hearing Matt when 0:11:08.920 --> 0:11:11.440 you're research trying rod in case, We're like, well, that's weird. 0:11:11.520 --> 0:11:13.680 You know, that's fifteen minutes away. Yes, and it was just so odd 0:11:17.480 --> 0:11:20.000 that you had that type of crime and happening in 0:11:20.000 --> 0:11:24.000 a place like that. Then in April twenty sixteen, just 0:11:24.040 --> 0:11:27.680 weeks before the Rodents were killed, Douglas Eatman and Carolyn 0:11:27.760 --> 0:11:35.320 and Tomlinson were shot execution style in their home. According 0:11:35.360 --> 0:11:37.880 to Jody Barr, one detail of the crime struck a 0:11:37.920 --> 0:11:42.800 familiar chord, a double homicide, four children left alive. This 0:11:42.880 --> 0:11:45.600 is very similar to the Rodent case. I mean again, 0:11:45.679 --> 0:11:48.320 it's a striking coincidence that in the same area this 0:11:48.400 --> 0:11:50.520 is happening in the same month, you know, the same 0:11:50.559 --> 0:11:52.440 month and year that the Rodents were murdered, this has 0:11:52.440 --> 0:11:54.720 also happened. That's what led us down the path of 0:11:54.800 --> 0:11:56.840 even looking at these cases, because we had heard that 0:11:56.840 --> 0:11:59.480 there were other people who were shot Noel and I 0:11:59.600 --> 0:12:05.079 executa style in their homes. When you're looking at the 0:12:05.160 --> 0:12:07.959 Rodent case and then you see these other cases in 0:12:08.000 --> 0:12:11.200 a county that small, you start asking yourself what the 0:12:11.200 --> 0:12:14.959 hell is going on because it doesn't make sense that 0:12:15.080 --> 0:12:17.520 this is happening there unless there is some sort of 0:12:17.720 --> 0:12:21.440 common denominator. And it's still hard to believe today that 0:12:21.480 --> 0:12:24.440 there were these types of murders that took place in 0:12:24.520 --> 0:12:28.080 a county so small, with so few people living in it. 0:12:28.480 --> 0:12:30.880 I mean, you don't hear about that in big cities. 0:12:31.200 --> 0:12:34.320 And you sit back and you wonder to yourself, what 0:12:34.520 --> 0:12:39.960 is going on? I mean, why is this happening. Fortunately, 0:12:40.040 --> 0:12:44.160 police arrested Douglas Eatman's uncle Charles and his cousin James Allen, 0:12:44.280 --> 0:12:48.400 on suspicion of Douglas and Caroline's murder. Each phase is 0:12:48.480 --> 0:12:51.440 twenty to fifty years or life in prison, with enhanced 0:12:51.440 --> 0:12:55.600 sentencing for capital offenses also a possibility. You know, two people shot in their 0:14:16.440 --> 0:14:18.319 bed in their homes in the middle of the night, 0:14:18.800 --> 0:14:21.480 and I thought, this is this is one we need 0:14:21.520 --> 0:14:28.520 to pursue. But no one would talk. We couldn't find 0:14:28.520 --> 0:14:31.520 out any information. All the search warrants were sealed at 0:14:31.520 --> 0:14:35.400 the courthouse, and there's absolutely no arrest. Ten years later, 0:14:35.520 --> 0:14:39.280 there's nothing here. We are today still nothing. We're in 0:14:39.320 --> 0:14:43.320 a dead end and it may never be solved.
