It was an incredibly positive speech overall. 0:01:26.177 --> 0:01:29.497 Trump talked about his accomplishments so far, talk about the 0:01:29.617 --> 0:01:33.457 scale of the victory of this last election, which was 0:01:34.137 --> 0:01:36.857 momentous in and of itself, and then just got into 0:01:37.137 --> 0:01:39.657 a lot of the plans for the future, the things 0:01:39.657 --> 0:01:42.217 that he wants to get done, and that includes of course, 0:01:42.337 --> 0:01:48.577 exposing the waste, fraud, and abuse of current government spending. Now, 0:01:48.697 --> 0:01:52.457 this is the fastening dynamic that is becoming the defining 0:01:53.257 --> 0:01:56.497 point of everything that we see in politics right now 0:01:56.497 --> 0:01:59.657 between Trump and the Democrats, Trump Republicans, and the left, 0:02:00.257 --> 0:02:03.457 and it is they have to oppose things that they 0:02:03.537 --> 0:02:07.937 have to know are politically damaging for them. And yet these lower federal 0:07:12.737 --> 0:07:17.697 courts have decided that they have the ability effectively a 0:07:17.817 --> 0:07:22.057 universal jurisdiction, so on any federal matter anywhere when Trump 0:07:22.097 --> 0:07:24.977 is president, they can just weigh in. And they also 0:07:25.937 --> 0:07:28.537 so jurisdiction doesn't really matter. Right if something's happening in 0:07:28.617 --> 0:07:31.977 DC and some judge in Massachusetts doesn't like it, he says, oh, well, 0:07:32.017 --> 0:07:34.737 you can't do that, DC. So that has been going 0:07:34.817 --> 0:07:38.817 on and there has also been Unfortunately, the Supreme Court 0:07:38.817 --> 0:07:43.097 decision that's come down Amy Cony Barrett is a huge disappointment. Yes, 0:07:43.177 --> 0:07:45.657 she was necessary for overturning Roe v. Wade, So that 0:07:45.857 --> 0:07:48.297 was a good thing, an obvious things should have happened 0:07:48.297 --> 0:07:50.737 a long time ago. A good thing. But now we 0:07:51.057 --> 0:07:56.857 have somebody who's essentially sides with soft authoritarianism at every opportunity, 0:07:56.937 --> 0:07:59.817 which is is really such a thing as soft authoritarianism, 0:07:59.897 --> 0:08:04.417 maybe authoritarianism with a smile, liberal fascism, to borrow from 0:08:04.417 --> 0:08:07.137 a Jonah Goldberg's book of a couple of decades ago. 0:08:07.577 --> 0:08:11.937 So we have the judicial challenge, or the challenge from 0:08:12.297 --> 0:08:16.537 a component of the judiciary to the agenda that Trump 0:08:16.617 --> 0:08:19.617 is trying to pursue. And in the most recent instance 0:08:19.657 --> 0:08:22.857 it was the Trump administration didn't want to pay two 0:08:22.897 --> 0:08:27.577 billion dollars that USAID was going to pay out, and 0:08:27.937 --> 0:08:31.977 these by five to four decision, the Supreme Court said no. 0:08:32.057 --> 0:08:33.817 The federal judge who says you have to pay this 0:08:33.817 --> 0:08:36.537 stuff out, and you have to do it quickly, arbitrary 0:08:36.617 --> 0:08:38.937 time frame, I might addle you, why does it have 0:08:38.977 --> 0:08:40.657 to get paid when the federal judge says that it 0:08:40.697 --> 0:08:44.217 does way beyond his jurisdiction. For of the Supreme Court 0:08:44.337 --> 0:08:49.857 justices noted this, but Roberts and ACB were, as they 0:08:49.897 --> 0:08:53.537 tend to do, siding with the system against I think 0:08:53.577 --> 0:08:57.297 the clear intent of the Constitution and the founders. And 0:08:57.377 --> 0:09:02.257 so that's a massive problem going forward, because what you're 0:09:02.297 --> 0:09:05.097 going to have is the sixty vote threshold in the 0:09:05.137 --> 0:09:08.897 Senate is the challenge to getting major legislation through. Democrats 0:09:08.897 --> 0:09:11.857 will filibuster. Notice how our side doesn't even talk about 0:09:11.857 --> 0:09:14.697 eliminiting the filibuster. Their side would threaten it, talk about it, 0:09:14.697 --> 0:09:17.617 and I think under the right circumstances for them, they 0:09:17.617 --> 0:09:20.697 would do it. Our side doesn't even have that discussion. 0:09:20.737 --> 0:09:24.017 Republicans don't even bring this up as a possibility. And 0:09:24.097 --> 0:09:27.897 then on the other side of things, you know, we 0:09:27.977 --> 0:09:31.577 have the judiciary blocking the executive branch actions. So because 0:09:31.617 --> 0:09:33.977 we don't have the sixty vote threshold in the Senate, 0:09:34.497 --> 0:09:36.257 I would love to think that we could get there 0:09:36.297 --> 0:09:39.377 in the next midterm, but who knows, because we don't 0:09:39.377 --> 0:09:45.377 have that. Major legislation is not really possible. Reconciliation to 0:09:45.417 --> 0:09:48.697 get through major spending, and you know, there are things 0:09:48.697 --> 0:09:52.177 that can be done through the legislative branch that will 0:09:52.577 --> 0:09:55.097 have the effect of policy and I think be very 0:09:55.097 --> 0:09:58.817 powerful for what Trump is trying to accomplish. But this 0:09:58.937 --> 0:10:00.177 is a lot of this is going to get tied 0:10:00.257 --> 0:10:03.377 up in the courts very quickly. And they always say, oh, 0:10:03.417 --> 0:10:06.257 we have this solid supreme conservative Supreme Court. At least 0:10:06.297 --> 0:10:09.537 the Democrats say that it's just not true, that that's 0:10:09.577 --> 0:10:12.937 just not a of reality. We do not have a 0:10:13.097 --> 0:10:16.657 solid Supreme Court on a whole range of issues because 0:10:16.657 --> 0:10:19.497 we have Roberts and acb. You really only have four 0:10:19.537 --> 0:10:22.457 conservatives on the court. Four and then you have two 0:10:22.697 --> 0:10:26.177 Sandrade O'Connor clones, essentially, and then you got a bunch 0:10:26.217 --> 0:10:28.377 and then you got some communist left wingers. Because it was executive, there 0:14:04.777 --> 0:14:09.337 was no legislation. There was no legislation from the Congress 0:14:09.657 --> 0:14:13.377 to and to executive branch prerogatives. Oh, I'm just Biden did this 0:15:13.657 --> 0:15:17.537 with the freeze on rent collection because of COVID or 0:15:17.537 --> 0:15:20.217 freeze on evictions rather because of COVID, and then also 0:15:20.377 --> 0:15:21.977 try to do it with student loans a whole bunch 0:15:21.977 --> 0:15:24.177 of different ways. They will just do what they want 0:15:24.217 --> 0:15:27.257 to do to the extent they can get away with it. Is this constitutional? I'm so pleased 0:15:55.777 --> 0:15:58.297 with what's going on right now so far in this administration. 0:15:58.977 --> 0:16:04.177 But we've got to break down this bureaucratic system, the spending. 0:16:04.257 --> 0:16:06.337 We've got to, you know, DOZE has to be allowed 0:16:06.337 --> 0:16:09.657 to do its work to completion.
