One thing that is true 8 00:00:38,760 --> 00:00:42,760 Speaker 3: every single year in the National Football League is roster turnover, 9 00:00:43,000 --> 00:00:45,559 Speaker 3: roster churn. You're gonna have to make a lot of 10 00:00:45,640 --> 00:00:48,960 Speaker 3: changes with the salary cap, with guys going and signing 11 00:00:49,000 --> 00:00:51,080 Speaker 3: big deals elsewhere, with guys in the last year of 12 00:00:51,120 --> 00:00:53,800 Speaker 3: their contracts, you know, maybe not being able to be 13 00:00:53,880 --> 00:00:57,360 Speaker 3: afforded anymore. As your team has gained prominence, has gained wins, 14 00:00:57,400 --> 00:01:00,000 Speaker 3: and has a better roster than it has in the past. 15 00:01:00,240 --> 00:01:03,160 Speaker 3: And so the off season is a time of opportunity 16 00:01:03,440 --> 00:01:06,680 Speaker 3: and it's also a time for organizations like the Cleveland 17 00:01:06,680 --> 00:01:10,279 Speaker 3: Browns to restock their rosters. Now, I thought the Browns 18 00:01:10,280 --> 00:01:14,520 Speaker 3: did a tremendous job this offseason of retaining a lot 19 00:01:14,600 --> 00:01:17,679 Speaker 3: of the key veterans. Think about guys like a Zadarius Smith, 20 00:01:17,720 --> 00:01:21,200 Speaker 3: getting him wanting him to come back, Guys like Rodney 21 00:01:21,240 --> 00:01:24,520 Speaker 3: McLeod at the safety position, having him come back to 22 00:01:24,560 --> 00:01:27,119 Speaker 3: the Cleveland Browns. So you did a good job in 23 00:01:27,160 --> 00:01:30,959 Speaker 3: that regard of bringing some guys back. About Mohurst, Shelby 24 00:01:31,000 --> 00:01:33,640 Speaker 3: Harris on that defensive line all wanted to come back 25 00:01:33,920 --> 00:01:35,920 Speaker 3: and get another shot here with the Cleveland Browns. But 26 00:01:35,959 --> 00:01:37,880 Speaker 3: you had to make some tough decisions, and you had 27 00:01:37,920 --> 00:01:40,760 Speaker 3: to make some acquisitions, And obviously you hope that some 28 00:01:40,800 --> 00:01:43,400 Speaker 3: of these acquisitions are upgrades. You hope that some of 29 00:01:43,440 --> 00:01:45,720 Speaker 3: these acquisitions are guys that are going to help you, 30 00:01:45,720 --> 00:01:49,680 Speaker 3: and then others are good veteran, solid depth pieces that 31 00:01:49,760 --> 00:01:52,880 Speaker 3: have a particular skill that make them very appealing to 32 00:01:52,880 --> 00:01:54,480 Speaker 3: the Cleveland Browns. And you always know there's gonna be 33 00:01:54,520 --> 00:01:57,760 Speaker 3: turnover because of the draft, but it's the veteran free 34 00:01:57,800 --> 00:02:00,400 Speaker 3: agencies where you're able to kind of plug holes fine 35 00:02:00,440 --> 00:02:03,800 Speaker 3: guys who have specific skill sets that perhaps fit your 36 00:02:03,920 --> 00:02:07,400 Speaker 3: organization better than they would anywhere else. And so the 37 00:02:07,440 --> 00:02:10,359 Speaker 3: Browns and general manager Andrew Berry, head coach Kevin Sefanski, 38 00:02:11,360 --> 00:02:14,760 Speaker 3: they had a plan to attack this offseason. They wanted 39 00:02:14,760 --> 00:02:17,600 Speaker 3: to get better at the linebacker position. We obviously had 40 00:02:17,639 --> 00:02:20,000 Speaker 3: had so many injuries there in the past. We all 41 00:02:20,080 --> 00:02:22,840 Speaker 3: love a walk, we all love Sioni Taki Taki, but 42 00:02:22,880 --> 00:02:25,120 Speaker 3: there have been a lot of injuries in that room. 43 00:02:25,200 --> 00:02:28,080 Speaker 3: And so they went out and they got Jordan Hicks. 44 00:02:28,400 --> 00:02:30,560 Speaker 3: And Jordan Hicks is a guy who's been a captain 45 00:02:30,560 --> 00:02:33,200 Speaker 3: in multiple organizations in this league. He's one of the 46 00:02:33,200 --> 00:02:37,160 Speaker 3: best cover linebackers in this league, and he also played 47 00:02:37,560 --> 00:02:40,639 Speaker 3: for our defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz when they won a 48 00:02:40,680 --> 00:02:45,000 Speaker 3: Super Bowl in Philly in twenty seventeen. Jordan Hicks folks 49 00:02:45,160 --> 00:02:48,560 Speaker 3: five straight one hundred plus tackle seasons. As I said, 50 00:02:48,600 --> 00:02:51,359 Speaker 3: he is excellent in coverage. He has forced a fumble 51 00:02:51,440 --> 00:02:54,960 Speaker 3: in three straight years. He's got twenty passes defense in 52 00:02:55,000 --> 00:03:00,000 Speaker 3: the last three seasons, two interceptions, thirteen interceptions in his career, 53 00:03:00,520 --> 00:03:02,880 Speaker 3: and so this is a guy that understands how to 54 00:03:02,880 --> 00:03:05,799 Speaker 3: play that position, how to play that position in this 55 00:03:06,000 --> 00:03:10,840 Speaker 3: defense as well. And that is critical obviously for the 56 00:03:10,840 --> 00:03:13,160 Speaker 3: Cleveland Browns because that allowed Jordan Hicks to come here 57 00:03:13,400 --> 00:03:15,560 Speaker 3: and just get right up to speed. 58 00:03:15,639 --> 00:03:16,359 Speaker 4: He has been so. 59 00:03:16,919 --> 00:03:20,000 Speaker 3: Productive in the National Football League and now the Browns 60 00:03:20,040 --> 00:03:22,760 Speaker 3: get him eight hundred and seventy four career tackles, forty 61 00:03:22,760 --> 00:03:25,480 Speaker 3: seven tackles for a loss, He's got a fumble return 62 00:03:25,560 --> 00:03:29,079 Speaker 3: for a touchdown, eleven fumble returns, six forced fumbles, he's 63 00:03:29,120 --> 00:03:31,320 Speaker 3: got the thirteen picks. He does have a pick six 64 00:03:31,320 --> 00:03:33,960 Speaker 3: he had back in twenty fifteen. And as I said, 65 00:03:34,200 --> 00:03:37,320 Speaker 3: forty nine passes defense for his career. And he's done 66 00:03:37,320 --> 00:03:38,840 Speaker 3: this all in one hundred and twenty two games. Been 67 00:03:38,840 --> 00:03:41,200 Speaker 3: a starter his whole career. The only time last time 68 00:03:41,240 --> 00:03:43,080 Speaker 3: he didn't start a game that he played in was 69 00:03:43,080 --> 00:03:47,320 Speaker 3: twenty fifteen. He started one hundred and nineteen games in 70 00:03:47,360 --> 00:03:50,640 Speaker 3: his NFL career. So you get Jordan Hicks. That's a big, 71 00:03:50,760 --> 00:03:53,520 Speaker 3: big signing, and so we're gonna hear from him in 72 00:03:53,560 --> 00:03:55,480 Speaker 3: this show because we're going to take a look at 73 00:03:55,520 --> 00:03:59,000 Speaker 3: all of the acquisitions here Jordan Hicks, We're going to 74 00:03:59,040 --> 00:04:01,080 Speaker 3: talk to Jamis Winston, and you're gonna hear from Nahim 75 00:04:01,200 --> 00:04:07,600 Speaker 3: heinz Achema, Danagy, Giovanni Ricci, Quentin Jefferson, Devin Bush, Deonta Foreman, 76 00:04:07,920 --> 00:04:10,840 Speaker 3: and Jerry Judy as well. That's another way that you 77 00:04:10,840 --> 00:04:13,440 Speaker 3: can get guys, not just the free agency, but also 78 00:04:13,520 --> 00:04:14,920 Speaker 3: the trade. So this is gonna be a look at 79 00:04:14,920 --> 00:04:17,280 Speaker 3: a lot of the new players coming in already highlighted 80 00:04:17,520 --> 00:04:18,080 Speaker 3: Jordan Hicks. 81 00:04:18,080 --> 00:04:19,520 Speaker 4: Well, let's talk about Jameis Winston. 82 00:04:19,600 --> 00:04:19,760 Speaker 2: Now. 83 00:04:20,720 --> 00:04:25,080 Speaker 3: Jameis Winston, former number one overall pick in the NFL 84 00:04:25,200 --> 00:04:28,600 Speaker 3: draft back in twenty fifteen. He's thirty four and forty 85 00:04:28,640 --> 00:04:31,120 Speaker 3: six as a starter back in twenty nineteen, led the 86 00:04:31,240 --> 00:04:35,080 Speaker 3: NFL with five thoy one hundred and nine yards passing. 87 00:04:35,320 --> 00:04:37,440 Speaker 3: For his career, he's throwing for over twenty two thousand yards, 88 00:04:37,440 --> 00:04:39,800 Speaker 3: one hundred and forty one touchdowns, ninety nine picks, career 89 00:04:39,839 --> 00:04:43,120 Speaker 3: quarterback rating of eighty seven, and in his time in 90 00:04:43,160 --> 00:04:46,120 Speaker 3: New Orleans kind of refined his game a little bit 91 00:04:46,520 --> 00:04:47,800 Speaker 3: and you saw him start to take care of the 92 00:04:47,800 --> 00:04:50,080 Speaker 3: football a little bit better. Touchdown interception ratio goes to 93 00:04:50,120 --> 00:04:52,960 Speaker 3: two to one, and that's what the Browns love. The 94 00:04:53,040 --> 00:04:56,240 Speaker 3: talent is undeniable, Jamis. They think he fits this offense 95 00:04:56,520 --> 00:04:59,440 Speaker 3: incredibly well. And not only that, the guy is an 96 00:04:59,560 --> 00:05:03,239 Speaker 3: unbelo believable electric personality. And you're gonna get a taste 97 00:05:03,240 --> 00:05:05,359 Speaker 3: of that when we start the show off. After I 98 00:05:05,400 --> 00:05:07,479 Speaker 3: turn it over to all these interviews on this best 99 00:05:07,520 --> 00:05:11,000 Speaker 3: of you're gonna start with Jamis Winston from his CBD 100 00:05:11,200 --> 00:05:15,280 Speaker 3: debut back on March the twentieth. Guy is comple totally 101 00:05:15,400 --> 00:05:19,360 Speaker 3: entertaining and a tremendous football player. Then in our number one, 102 00:05:19,400 --> 00:05:22,080 Speaker 3: we're gonna continue, We're gonna talk with running back Nahim 103 00:05:22,240 --> 00:05:24,560 Speaker 3: Hinz and Nahiem Heins is a guy coming back from 104 00:05:24,560 --> 00:05:27,000 Speaker 3: injury who has a chance, I think, with some of 105 00:05:27,040 --> 00:05:29,920 Speaker 3: the rule changes this year, to be a very special 106 00:05:30,000 --> 00:05:33,000 Speaker 3: player for the Cleveland Browns. For his career, he's got 107 00:05:33,000 --> 00:05:37,120 Speaker 3: twelve hundred and two yards rushing. He's got ten rushing touchdowns. 108 00:05:37,120 --> 00:05:38,760 Speaker 3: He's also good at catching the ball in the backfield 109 00:05:38,760 --> 00:05:41,760 Speaker 3: two hundred and forty catches, seventeen hundred and seventy eight 110 00:05:41,839 --> 00:05:45,279 Speaker 3: yards receiving, and eight touchdowns out of the backfield. So 111 00:05:45,760 --> 00:05:48,480 Speaker 3: is the guy who's been productive. But where I see 112 00:05:48,480 --> 00:05:50,720 Speaker 3: his role other than perhaps is a third down back. 113 00:05:51,800 --> 00:05:56,039 Speaker 3: In the return game, Nahem Heins is an elite returner. 114 00:05:56,360 --> 00:05:59,440 Speaker 3: You look at twenty twenty two, he had two kick 115 00:05:59,480 --> 00:06:02,039 Speaker 3: return touchdowns that season. The last time he played miss 116 00:06:02,080 --> 00:06:04,599 Speaker 3: twenty twenty three with an injury. He has two career 117 00:06:04,680 --> 00:06:07,880 Speaker 3: punt return touchdowns as well. And who will forget in 118 00:06:07,920 --> 00:06:10,760 Speaker 3: Heimhinz the emotional return the first game after the Damar 119 00:06:10,880 --> 00:06:13,800 Speaker 3: Hamlin scare. He took that opening kickoff to the house 120 00:06:14,160 --> 00:06:16,960 Speaker 3: for then the Buffalo Bills. So this is a guy 121 00:06:16,960 --> 00:06:20,039 Speaker 3: who has an opportunity, I think to be a very 122 00:06:20,080 --> 00:06:22,520 Speaker 3: productive returner. He already's shown the ability to take it 123 00:06:22,560 --> 00:06:24,880 Speaker 3: to the house there and then the normal rules. 124 00:06:24,880 --> 00:06:26,080 Speaker 4: With these new rules, he's. 125 00:06:25,960 --> 00:06:28,560 Speaker 3: Gonna have an even bigger opportunity I think to do 126 00:06:28,720 --> 00:06:30,680 Speaker 3: that going forward for the Cleveland brown So we're gonna 127 00:06:30,680 --> 00:06:32,400 Speaker 3: hear from him at one point thirty and then we're 128 00:06:32,440 --> 00:06:35,719 Speaker 3: gonna wrap up our number one with a pair of newcomers. 129 00:06:36,040 --> 00:06:40,320 Speaker 3: Hakeem Identegy, the offensive lineman who joins the Cleveland Browns. 130 00:06:40,520 --> 00:06:43,359 Speaker 3: Former six round pick of the Bengals back in twenty twenty, 131 00:06:43,600 --> 00:06:46,360 Speaker 3: He's got peered in forty three games fifteen starts. All 132 00:06:46,400 --> 00:06:48,760 Speaker 3: of those starts came with the Bengals, spent some time 133 00:06:48,800 --> 00:06:52,320 Speaker 3: in Minnesota last year. He joins the Browns. Here his story, 134 00:06:52,400 --> 00:06:55,320 Speaker 3: as well as Giovanni Ricci, who is competing to be 135 00:06:55,400 --> 00:06:59,200 Speaker 3: the team's third tight end this year. Ricci, former undrafted 136 00:06:59,200 --> 00:07:01,720 Speaker 3: free agent out of Western Michigan, spent some time with 137 00:07:01,800 --> 00:07:04,599 Speaker 3: the Carolina Panthers the last three seasons. Good special teams 138 00:07:04,640 --> 00:07:07,000 Speaker 3: player as well, nine catches for one hundred and two 139 00:07:07,080 --> 00:07:10,080 Speaker 3: yards in his career. More of a blocker and a 140 00:07:10,080 --> 00:07:12,200 Speaker 3: guy that the Browns hope can give them some depth 141 00:07:12,240 --> 00:07:15,080 Speaker 3: there in that tight end room behind David Joku and 142 00:07:15,200 --> 00:07:18,320 Speaker 3: Jordan Aiken. So that's our number one, our number two. 143 00:07:18,600 --> 00:07:21,160 Speaker 3: I've already talked to you about Jordan Hicks, and boy, 144 00:07:21,240 --> 00:07:23,760 Speaker 3: we are excited to have him. He is a captivating 145 00:07:24,080 --> 00:07:29,280 Speaker 3: guy and you really enjoy hearing from him, his perspective 146 00:07:29,360 --> 00:07:31,880 Speaker 3: on things, what he's been through, had almost what they 147 00:07:31,880 --> 00:07:34,760 Speaker 3: thought was a career ending injury last year, and now 148 00:07:34,800 --> 00:07:37,400 Speaker 3: he is back and better than ever. He is in 149 00:07:37,520 --> 00:07:40,080 Speaker 3: tremendous condition. I'll tell you that he wasn't the only 150 00:07:40,120 --> 00:07:42,360 Speaker 3: linebacker that the Browns brought in this offseason. They also 151 00:07:42,360 --> 00:07:46,000 Speaker 3: brought in Devin Bush, junior Devin Bush, former first rounder 152 00:07:46,040 --> 00:07:49,120 Speaker 3: of the Steelers back in two thoy and nineteen. And remember, 153 00:07:49,320 --> 00:07:51,600 Speaker 3: this is a guy who tore his ACL in twenty twenty, 154 00:07:51,640 --> 00:07:54,960 Speaker 3: actually in a game against the Cleveland Browns. But he 155 00:07:55,040 --> 00:07:57,520 Speaker 3: is thrilled to be here. Spent last year with the 156 00:07:57,520 --> 00:07:59,680 Speaker 3: Seattle Seahawks. He's a guy who had one hundred and 157 00:07:59,720 --> 00:08:01,960 Speaker 3: nine ten tackles back as a rookie. The injury, though, 158 00:08:02,000 --> 00:08:04,840 Speaker 3: set him back the next two years in Pittsburgh seventy tackles, 159 00:08:04,880 --> 00:08:08,400 Speaker 3: eighty one tackles. Last year limited action, thirty seven tackles 160 00:08:08,400 --> 00:08:11,000 Speaker 3: in Seattle, but also played some special teams. He is 161 00:08:11,080 --> 00:08:14,320 Speaker 3: not a big linebacker, but he is a very fast linebacker. 162 00:08:14,360 --> 00:08:16,960 Speaker 3: Got a lot of speed than in Jim Schwartz's defense. 163 00:08:17,120 --> 00:08:18,720 Speaker 3: That's what you want your linebackers to be able to 164 00:08:18,760 --> 00:08:21,040 Speaker 3: do to fly to the football. Devin Bush can do that. 165 00:08:21,080 --> 00:08:22,800 Speaker 3: We talked to him about his home coming back to 166 00:08:22,840 --> 00:08:25,720 Speaker 3: the Midwest. Guy who played his collegiate football in the 167 00:08:25,720 --> 00:08:29,800 Speaker 3: Midwest started his professional career here in the Midwest as well. 168 00:08:30,120 --> 00:08:32,439 Speaker 3: And then we go to one of the more underwright 169 00:08:32,840 --> 00:08:37,119 Speaker 3: rated signings. I think of this offseason because Quentin Jefferson 170 00:08:37,440 --> 00:08:40,040 Speaker 3: has a particular skill. Former fifth round of the Seattle 171 00:08:40,080 --> 00:08:44,280 Speaker 3: Seahawks back in twenty sixteen, his skill is getting to 172 00:08:44,360 --> 00:08:49,120 Speaker 3: the quarterback. The last two seasons eleven and a half sacks, 173 00:08:49,400 --> 00:08:53,560 Speaker 3: the last three seasons sixteen total sacks, working as part 174 00:08:53,559 --> 00:08:55,839 Speaker 3: of a rotation with the Vegas Raiders, working as part 175 00:08:55,880 --> 00:08:58,600 Speaker 3: of a rotation in Seattle, and then last year he 176 00:08:58,679 --> 00:09:01,200 Speaker 3: was a full time starter with the New York Jets, 177 00:09:01,200 --> 00:09:03,240 Speaker 3: who had one of the best defenses in the NFL, 178 00:09:03,280 --> 00:09:05,520 Speaker 3: had a career high six sacks. So he is a 179 00:09:05,520 --> 00:09:08,600 Speaker 3: guy who absolutely can get after the quarterback. A veteran 180 00:09:09,000 --> 00:09:11,880 Speaker 3: chose it to come here, loves this defense, loves what 181 00:09:11,960 --> 00:09:13,800 Speaker 3: he can do in it. And then we'll go back 182 00:09:13,840 --> 00:09:15,600 Speaker 3: to the offensive side of the balls. We wrap things 183 00:09:15,679 --> 00:09:18,840 Speaker 3: up here on this Best of Show with Deontay Foreman, 184 00:09:18,880 --> 00:09:20,839 Speaker 3: the new addition to the Browns backfield. And I tell 185 00:09:20,840 --> 00:09:23,600 Speaker 3: you what I think right now, if Nick Chubb is 186 00:09:23,640 --> 00:09:26,160 Speaker 3: not back at the start of the season, Deante Foreman 187 00:09:26,400 --> 00:09:28,960 Speaker 3: has a chance to be very productive. Former third round 188 00:09:29,000 --> 00:09:31,720 Speaker 3: pick out of Texas by the Houston Texans, started his 189 00:09:31,760 --> 00:09:34,560 Speaker 3: career with Deshaun Watson down there in Houston. He spent 190 00:09:34,600 --> 00:09:37,880 Speaker 3: time in Tennessee, Carolina back in twenty twenty two, ran 191 00:09:37,920 --> 00:09:40,520 Speaker 3: for nine hundred and fourteen yards and five touchdowns average 192 00:09:40,520 --> 00:09:42,960 Speaker 3: four and a half yards of carry for his career 193 00:09:43,559 --> 00:09:46,440 Speaker 3: three hundred and twenty six yards, fourteen touchdowns, four point 194 00:09:46,720 --> 00:09:50,000 Speaker 3: two yards per carry. He is a big, bruising runner, 195 00:09:50,080 --> 00:09:53,120 Speaker 3: a productive runner, and in his career eleven games with 196 00:09:53,200 --> 00:09:55,560 Speaker 3: nineteen or more carries, seven of them He's rushed for 197 00:09:55,600 --> 00:09:58,600 Speaker 3: more than one hundred yards, nine of them almost ninety yards, 198 00:09:58,600 --> 00:10:01,120 Speaker 3: so he has been great. And then the final edition, 199 00:10:01,240 --> 00:10:03,360 Speaker 3: probably the biggest one of the offseason, we'll wrap up 200 00:10:03,360 --> 00:10:06,520 Speaker 3: this show hearing from Jerry Judy, the former fifteenth overall 201 00:10:06,520 --> 00:10:09,400 Speaker 3: pick in the twenty twenty NFL Draft. He gets traded 202 00:10:09,440 --> 00:10:11,440 Speaker 3: for by the Browns. They've been after him for years, 203 00:10:11,600 --> 00:10:15,160 Speaker 3: signs a contract extension this offseason, and now he is 204 00:10:15,320 --> 00:10:18,040 Speaker 3: ready to go career high nine hundred and seventy two 205 00:10:18,080 --> 00:10:21,120 Speaker 3: yards six touchdowns in twenty twenty two. Guy three thousand, 206 00:10:21,200 --> 00:10:23,440 Speaker 3: fifty three yards, eleven touchdowns, fourteen and a half yards 207 00:10:23,440 --> 00:10:26,360 Speaker 3: a catch for his career with questionable quarterback play, and 208 00:10:26,400 --> 00:10:28,560 Speaker 3: the hope is to get the talent we all saw 209 00:10:28,559 --> 00:10:31,200 Speaker 3: there at Alabama get it here with the Cleveland Browns. 210 00:10:31,240 --> 00:10:33,800 Speaker 3: So those are the newcomers. You know, 264 00:13:01,320 --> 00:13:04,120 Speaker 7: when you have a fierce defense that know how to 265 00:13:04,160 --> 00:13:06,240 Speaker 7: take the ball away uh and know how to stop 266 00:13:06,280 --> 00:13:09,120 Speaker 7: the run, that's enticing for for any quarterback. 267 00:13:09,480 --> 00:13:09,680 Speaker 2: UH. 268 00:13:09,760 --> 00:13:12,520 Speaker 7: But but also when you when you have the opportunity 269 00:13:12,559 --> 00:13:15,440 Speaker 7: to impact and influence uh a young quarterback who you 270 00:13:15,480 --> 00:13:17,840 Speaker 7: have admired uh for for from. 271 00:13:17,640 --> 00:13:19,720 Speaker 8: Afar and have competed it against. 272 00:13:20,200 --> 00:13:20,360 Speaker 9: Uh. 273 00:13:20,600 --> 00:13:25,400 Speaker 7: It really was a no brainer for me opposed to 274 00:13:25,559 --> 00:13:29,200 Speaker 7: you know, obviously looking for opportunities to start, but but 275 00:13:29,400 --> 00:13:32,480 Speaker 7: knowing uh the head coach here, Kevin Stefanski, is able 276 00:13:32,520 --> 00:13:35,599 Speaker 7: to to win with with you know, with with with 277 00:13:35,600 --> 00:13:40,280 Speaker 7: with his with his strategies, uh and with his uh 278 00:13:40,320 --> 00:13:43,040 Speaker 7: amazing ability to lead a team despite what they may 279 00:13:43,080 --> 00:13:43,600 Speaker 7: grow through. 280 00:13:43,920 --> 00:13:44,120 Speaker 10: Uh. 281 00:13:44,200 --> 00:13:45,480 Speaker 2: You have to admire that. 282 00:13:45,880 --> 00:13:48,160 Speaker 6: Yeah, it's his sting. They So when I was we 283 00:13:48,160 --> 00:13:50,640 Speaker 6: were talking out there when you were down, like that's 284 00:13:50,679 --> 00:13:53,280 Speaker 6: a small world, that Southern quarterback world. And so you 285 00:13:53,360 --> 00:13:55,640 Speaker 6: coming out about Alabama going to Florida State, a Deshaun 286 00:13:55,679 --> 00:13:57,760 Speaker 6: coming out of Georgia going to Clemson and you guys 287 00:13:57,880 --> 00:14:01,160 Speaker 6: didn't intersect in college, right, he came just slightly. You're 288 00:14:01,160 --> 00:14:03,920 Speaker 6: done in fourteen and then he's in in fifteen. Yeah, 289 00:14:03,960 --> 00:14:06,240 Speaker 6: I think at Clemson. But it was a I remember 290 00:14:06,360 --> 00:14:08,559 Speaker 6: even talking about in the greater college football were late 291 00:14:08,559 --> 00:14:10,680 Speaker 6: as the passing of the guard from best quarterback college 292 00:14:10,679 --> 00:14:13,400 Speaker 6: football Jamis to Deshaun. He was next, he had next. 293 00:14:13,600 --> 00:14:15,160 Speaker 8: Well it started with Cam Newton. 294 00:14:15,200 --> 00:14:17,280 Speaker 6: Well yeah, wait back yah, yeah yeah, Cam, even before 295 00:14:17,320 --> 00:14:21,880 Speaker 6: you for sure, But like, was there a how aware 296 00:14:21,920 --> 00:14:25,840 Speaker 6: have you been of his career throughout yours? And I'm 297 00:14:25,880 --> 00:14:28,840 Speaker 6: sure he emulated you wanting you know, having you been 298 00:14:28,880 --> 00:14:29,760 Speaker 6: a couple of years older. 299 00:14:30,120 --> 00:14:35,640 Speaker 8: Well, I think his intangibles was was all. 300 00:14:35,720 --> 00:14:39,200 Speaker 7: It always stood out because his ability to make plays 301 00:14:39,200 --> 00:14:43,560 Speaker 7: and being from the state of Alabama, him winning the 302 00:14:43,680 --> 00:14:48,200 Speaker 7: national championship with Cleveland in Tampa, you know, obviously all 303 00:14:48,240 --> 00:14:51,200 Speaker 7: the sitement that was going on when college football playoff 304 00:14:51,240 --> 00:14:53,440 Speaker 7: had came to Tampa. I was able to have a 305 00:14:53,440 --> 00:14:56,600 Speaker 7: few appearances and talk about that. Uh, and he didn't 306 00:14:56,600 --> 00:14:58,640 Speaker 7: want He didn't even win the Heisman that year, which 307 00:14:59,240 --> 00:15:02,760 Speaker 7: I thought that he he was definitely could have could have, 308 00:15:03,280 --> 00:15:07,120 Speaker 7: so him seeing him beat Alabama and the National Championship 309 00:15:07,200 --> 00:15:12,600 Speaker 7: stage was prolific, you know, because you know we beat Auburn, 310 00:15:13,080 --> 00:15:15,520 Speaker 7: but just being in that Southern rim, we know for 311 00:15:15,600 --> 00:15:18,680 Speaker 7: so long that Alabama was king. So I think when 312 00:15:18,720 --> 00:15:20,960 Speaker 7: he did that, he definitely got his street cred from 313 00:15:21,080 --> 00:15:25,120 Speaker 7: everybody around. Uh So I'm just I'm just proud of him, 314 00:15:25,120 --> 00:15:26,600 Speaker 7: and I'm happy to get to work with him. 315 00:15:26,960 --> 00:15:28,920 Speaker 3: And I know that you've talked to him since since 316 00:15:28,960 --> 00:15:31,040 Speaker 3: you've signed, And I remember when it was announced that 317 00:15:31,040 --> 00:15:32,520 Speaker 3: you had signed to give a quote to Joe Sina 318 00:15:32,560 --> 00:15:34,600 Speaker 3: about how you were going to help him be the 319 00:15:34,640 --> 00:15:37,600 Speaker 3: best version of himself. How's kind of those conversations. God, 320 00:15:37,680 --> 00:15:40,160 Speaker 3: I'm sure he's got to be thrilled as well, and 321 00:15:40,200 --> 00:15:41,560 Speaker 3: we got to know a great guy. 322 00:15:41,840 --> 00:15:42,080 Speaker 2: Yeah. 323 00:15:42,120 --> 00:15:44,760 Speaker 7: Well, obviously, right now the most important thing is it 324 00:15:44,800 --> 00:15:48,280 Speaker 7: is him getting back and recovery. So I know he's 325 00:15:48,320 --> 00:15:49,600 Speaker 7: passionately pursuing. 326 00:15:49,200 --> 00:15:49,840 Speaker 2: That right now. 327 00:15:50,160 --> 00:15:52,200 Speaker 7: But we will be connecting over the course of the 328 00:15:52,280 --> 00:15:55,480 Speaker 7: next two weeks. But but I think in terms of 329 00:15:55,640 --> 00:16:00,440 Speaker 7: just growth and learning from your experiences, I have played 330 00:16:00,600 --> 00:16:03,720 Speaker 7: every role that you can play as an NFL quarterback 331 00:16:03,960 --> 00:16:05,800 Speaker 7: in this league up to in just nine years in 332 00:16:05,840 --> 00:16:08,280 Speaker 7: the league. So just me being being able to bring 333 00:16:08,320 --> 00:16:10,760 Speaker 7: that and being able to bring a certain energy around 334 00:16:10,840 --> 00:16:13,200 Speaker 7: him and be willing to serve him and give him 335 00:16:13,240 --> 00:16:16,080 Speaker 7: something that he probably hasn't gotten. I know, I'm cool 336 00:16:16,120 --> 00:16:18,680 Speaker 7: with Jacoby Brissett and I know today they got a 337 00:16:18,760 --> 00:16:21,040 Speaker 7: chance to work doing and that was a tough season, 338 00:16:21,040 --> 00:16:23,800 Speaker 7: but I'm just excited to get in the room with 339 00:16:23,880 --> 00:16:27,400 Speaker 7: him see how he worked like. It's different when you 340 00:16:27,480 --> 00:16:29,680 Speaker 7: see someone hand in hand, you can hear, you know 341 00:16:29,720 --> 00:16:31,800 Speaker 7: about what people do. Obviously you can see on TV. 342 00:16:31,840 --> 00:16:33,760 Speaker 7: But when you get a chance to connect with somebody 343 00:16:33,920 --> 00:16:36,840 Speaker 7: and being in with them, you can do amazing things together. 344 00:16:37,280 --> 00:16:38,400 Speaker 6: Yeah, certain, go ahead, go ahead. 345 00:16:38,440 --> 00:16:40,160 Speaker 4: That's just to say kind of along that line. 346 00:16:40,240 --> 00:16:42,680 Speaker 3: You know, we're moving from what had been kind of 347 00:16:42,680 --> 00:16:45,280 Speaker 3: an under center a lot of you know, marriage of 348 00:16:45,280 --> 00:16:47,280 Speaker 3: the running pass, the play action, the keeper game, all 349 00:16:47,320 --> 00:16:50,160 Speaker 3: of that. So maybe more of a shotgun style offense 350 00:16:50,200 --> 00:16:51,160 Speaker 3: now with Ken Dorsey. 351 00:16:51,280 --> 00:16:51,560 Speaker 2: That's home. 352 00:16:51,600 --> 00:16:53,520 Speaker 4: I know that you've been very comfortable with your entire. 353 00:16:53,320 --> 00:16:57,080 Speaker 3: Career, how how important or how influentially was that factor 354 00:16:57,120 --> 00:16:59,000 Speaker 3: as well, saying this is not only a chance to 355 00:16:59,040 --> 00:17:01,000 Speaker 3: work with you know, de Shaun, not only a chance 356 00:17:01,040 --> 00:17:02,760 Speaker 3: to be with a great roster that can win, knowing 357 00:17:02,760 --> 00:17:05,200 Speaker 3: that if you get an opportunity to play, you're gonna 358 00:17:05,200 --> 00:17:06,720 Speaker 3: be able to win, but also having an offense that 359 00:17:06,800 --> 00:17:09,720 Speaker 3: probably is gonna suit what you like to do pretty well. 360 00:17:09,840 --> 00:17:11,600 Speaker 7: Yeah, well, you know one thing I like to do 361 00:17:12,080 --> 00:17:15,320 Speaker 7: is hand the ball off to Nick Chubb and watching 362 00:17:15,320 --> 00:17:18,480 Speaker 7: that is that's about one hundred and fifty a game. 363 00:17:18,600 --> 00:17:20,800 Speaker 7: And I think you build an offense based off that. 364 00:17:20,840 --> 00:17:22,359 Speaker 7: You know, when you when you look at how the 365 00:17:22,640 --> 00:17:24,439 Speaker 7: Cleveland Browns haven't send it to being one of the 366 00:17:24,440 --> 00:17:26,920 Speaker 7: top teams NFL, it is because. 367 00:17:26,600 --> 00:17:29,160 Speaker 8: Of their fronts, right, a great offensive line. 368 00:17:29,200 --> 00:17:30,760 Speaker 7: Like you think about the injuries that we had on 369 00:17:30,800 --> 00:17:32,879 Speaker 7: offensive line last year and we still were able to 370 00:17:32,920 --> 00:17:36,200 Speaker 7: overcome that and still have you know, a dominant rusher 371 00:17:36,480 --> 00:17:39,360 Speaker 7: who was new to the team, you know, despite Nick 372 00:17:39,400 --> 00:17:41,680 Speaker 7: being her and I know he's recovering his tail off 373 00:17:41,920 --> 00:17:44,480 Speaker 7: the injuries that the shun had. You know, and you've 374 00:17:44,480 --> 00:17:48,479 Speaker 7: been you're seeing this offense evolved around p J Walker, 375 00:17:48,840 --> 00:17:53,159 Speaker 7: around what was the Dorian DTR dr DTR and seeing 376 00:17:53,320 --> 00:17:57,480 Speaker 7: the just the the excitement that Joe Flacco was able 377 00:17:57,480 --> 00:17:59,560 Speaker 7: to come him winning comeback Player of the Year with 378 00:18:00,800 --> 00:18:03,680 Speaker 7: seven games you know, you know, and and I think 379 00:18:03,960 --> 00:18:06,960 Speaker 7: that just shows what One, the men and women that 380 00:18:07,000 --> 00:18:09,320 Speaker 7: are in this building are doing something right. 381 00:18:09,640 --> 00:18:09,840 Speaker 2: Uh. 382 00:18:09,880 --> 00:18:12,640 Speaker 7: And two when you think about offense, like everybody wants 383 00:18:12,680 --> 00:18:16,280 Speaker 7: to pass in this league, but every defensive coordinator office 384 00:18:16,359 --> 00:18:19,639 Speaker 7: coordinator knows it stopped. It starts with the run and 385 00:18:19,640 --> 00:18:22,679 Speaker 7: it finished with stopping the run. So the ability that 386 00:18:22,720 --> 00:18:24,960 Speaker 7: this team has to run the football is only going 387 00:18:25,000 --> 00:18:27,760 Speaker 7: to open up so many more opportunities with the different 388 00:18:27,800 --> 00:18:29,399 Speaker 7: things you can do out of the gun, the different 389 00:18:29,400 --> 00:18:32,000 Speaker 7: play accents that you can create, the different gimmicks and 390 00:18:32,040 --> 00:18:34,360 Speaker 7: trick players that you can get off of this new 391 00:18:34,400 --> 00:18:36,000 Speaker 7: wave of shotgun offense. 392 00:18:36,359 --> 00:18:39,160 Speaker 6: You know, it's funny, you're as it's all of these 393 00:18:39,200 --> 00:18:41,280 Speaker 6: things are so cool, But there are so many connections. 394 00:18:41,680 --> 00:18:43,840 Speaker 6: As as we were talking about you and DeShawn and 395 00:18:43,840 --> 00:18:46,200 Speaker 6: you think about you know, Jerry Judy, you think about 396 00:18:46,200 --> 00:18:51,200 Speaker 6: Amari I mean and same age Alabama. Another one more 397 00:18:51,880 --> 00:18:54,119 Speaker 6: Nick Chubb, I mean, like we have so many big 398 00:18:54,160 --> 00:18:57,560 Speaker 6: State U Southern or the Chief went to you. I mean, 399 00:18:57,600 --> 00:19:00,639 Speaker 6: we have so many of those guys, uh that that 400 00:19:00,680 --> 00:19:02,480 Speaker 6: are on this team. And the one thing I know 401 00:19:02,520 --> 00:19:04,800 Speaker 6: that AB likes about it is is if you if 402 00:19:04,840 --> 00:19:06,800 Speaker 6: you played at one of those places and you're from 403 00:19:06,800 --> 00:19:09,960 Speaker 6: that part of the country, you understand what football is 404 00:19:09,960 --> 00:19:11,399 Speaker 6: all about at the very highest level. And I think 405 00:19:11,440 --> 00:19:13,840 Speaker 6: you're gonna find that when you get here in the fall, 406 00:19:14,200 --> 00:19:17,440 Speaker 6: that these people view it the same way that there 407 00:19:17,560 --> 00:19:19,520 Speaker 6: is a the way that there is a big game 408 00:19:19,600 --> 00:19:22,000 Speaker 6: on campus in Tallahassee and the way that that feels 409 00:19:22,080 --> 00:19:23,920 Speaker 6: on a Saturday morning, that's the same thing you're gonna 410 00:19:23,920 --> 00:19:27,920 Speaker 6: find here on a Sunday. And I think the guys 411 00:19:27,920 --> 00:19:30,000 Speaker 6: have you have you picked up on the connection between 412 00:19:30,040 --> 00:19:32,239 Speaker 6: all of that stuff in terms of this organization and 413 00:19:32,280 --> 00:19:34,400 Speaker 6: the big state U Southern connection. 414 00:19:34,800 --> 00:19:39,000 Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely. I just know one thing about let's just 415 00:19:39,000 --> 00:19:42,560 Speaker 7: talk about the fan base. When we came here two 416 00:19:42,600 --> 00:19:45,000 Speaker 7: years ago, a year ago, uh and played in you 417 00:19:45,000 --> 00:19:46,720 Speaker 7: know one Mkoda's the game and then thank. 418 00:19:46,640 --> 00:19:48,880 Speaker 3: You for not making that you say, I'm not going 419 00:19:48,920 --> 00:19:50,800 Speaker 3: there because that that was for here. 420 00:19:50,920 --> 00:19:53,560 Speaker 4: Even that was insane, you know, like that was not normal. 421 00:19:53,680 --> 00:19:57,080 Speaker 7: But there were people in the stands without your you know, 422 00:19:57,200 --> 00:20:00,200 Speaker 7: and like and obviously that's that's odd and crazy. When 423 00:20:00,200 --> 00:20:02,159 Speaker 7: you think about that, it is obviously you got to 424 00:20:02,160 --> 00:20:05,080 Speaker 7: think about your health. But but just think about the commitment. 425 00:20:05,400 --> 00:20:08,359 Speaker 7: And honestly, you know, and and I know I'm not 426 00:20:08,359 --> 00:20:10,080 Speaker 7: with New Orleans, and but that's something that I really 427 00:20:10,119 --> 00:20:12,800 Speaker 7: admired about that that city in New Orleans is just 428 00:20:12,800 --> 00:20:14,240 Speaker 7: the fans were always involved. 429 00:20:14,560 --> 00:20:15,760 Speaker 2: And when you think about. 430 00:20:15,520 --> 00:20:18,439 Speaker 7: The Cleveland Browns, you think about the dog Pound, you know, 431 00:20:18,520 --> 00:20:21,240 Speaker 7: So these fans they are where make things go like that. 432 00:20:21,359 --> 00:20:23,720 Speaker 7: They're the reason that we all have a job because 433 00:20:23,760 --> 00:20:27,760 Speaker 7: these people their livelihood is watching the Browns play football. So, 434 00:20:28,200 --> 00:20:31,480 Speaker 7: you know, I'm very grateful to be a part of 435 00:20:31,160 --> 00:20:34,639 Speaker 7: a of an organization in the society that encompasses, you know, 436 00:20:34,680 --> 00:20:39,080 Speaker 7: that that gride that hard knows and really increase. 437 00:20:39,240 --> 00:20:41,840 Speaker 8: They know, they know we're trying to make everybody better. 438 00:20:41,840 --> 00:20:43,160 Speaker 8: We all feed off each other. 439 00:20:43,920 --> 00:20:45,760 Speaker 4: There's no doubt you said it many times when you 440 00:20:45,800 --> 00:20:47,560 Speaker 4: guys who come from the big schools like you did. 441 00:20:48,040 --> 00:20:50,359 Speaker 3: This is as close as you'll get to that collegiate 442 00:20:50,440 --> 00:20:52,679 Speaker 3: atmosphere in terms of the way the Browns fans are. 443 00:20:52,720 --> 00:20:55,399 Speaker 3: And I joked with Joe Flacco probably after maybe a 444 00:20:55,400 --> 00:20:57,440 Speaker 3: second game ago, you're gonna end up being more popular 445 00:20:57,440 --> 00:20:59,680 Speaker 3: here than you were ever in Baltimore. And he's like, yeah, okay, 446 00:20:59,720 --> 00:21:01,639 Speaker 3: And after if we clinched against the Jets is like, 447 00:21:01,840 --> 00:21:04,399 Speaker 3: you're right, it's my family's like, this is crazy. 448 00:21:04,440 --> 00:21:05,800 Speaker 4: It's just a great place to play football. 449 00:21:05,800 --> 00:21:07,520 Speaker 3: That's what they That's what they do here, you know, 450 00:21:07,600 --> 00:21:09,400 Speaker 3: And I know that you appreciate that. 451 00:21:09,440 --> 00:21:14,080 Speaker 7: It's the love for football, you know, just go back 452 00:21:14,119 --> 00:21:16,360 Speaker 7: to the like down the South, like you know, we 453 00:21:16,400 --> 00:21:19,879 Speaker 7: have football, you know, like we don't have hoops, you know, 454 00:21:20,080 --> 00:21:22,360 Speaker 7: because like obviously the impact de Lebron James is made 455 00:21:22,400 --> 00:21:25,760 Speaker 7: in this community is amazing. But Ohio even has good 456 00:21:25,760 --> 00:21:28,480 Speaker 7: basketball like Alabama, we don't have you know, we don't 457 00:21:28,520 --> 00:21:30,240 Speaker 7: have the best basketball, but we have a lot of 458 00:21:30,240 --> 00:21:31,360 Speaker 7: superstar players. 459 00:21:31,080 --> 00:21:31,520 Speaker 2: That come out. 460 00:21:32,160 --> 00:21:35,200 Speaker 7: But the love of football is something that I feel 461 00:21:35,240 --> 00:21:37,480 Speaker 7: like I attract to. And I know that this city 462 00:21:37,520 --> 00:21:40,439 Speaker 7: really loves football. And that's why I know that I'm 463 00:21:40,440 --> 00:21:41,640 Speaker 7: really gonna love this city. 464 00:21:42,320 --> 00:21:44,320 Speaker 4: It's gonna be fun, man. We're excited. 465 00:21:44,359 --> 00:21:46,000 Speaker 3: So one of the things I always ask the people 466 00:21:46,000 --> 00:21:48,320 Speaker 3: when they come in is what something you just want 467 00:21:48,359 --> 00:21:49,840 Speaker 3: Browns fans to know about you? It doesn't have you 468 00:21:49,840 --> 00:21:51,840 Speaker 3: about your football, doesn't have about your work, just anything 469 00:21:51,840 --> 00:21:53,800 Speaker 3: in general that when they see Jameis Winson out there, 470 00:21:53,840 --> 00:21:54,120 Speaker 3: you love. 471 00:21:54,320 --> 00:21:55,160 Speaker 4: This is what I want you to. 472 00:21:55,080 --> 00:21:57,359 Speaker 7: Think, yeah, when you see me on the street, just 473 00:21:57,359 --> 00:21:58,880 Speaker 7: know that I'm a man of faith and I'm looking 474 00:21:58,920 --> 00:22:02,040 Speaker 7: to encourage any inspire anybody that I'm around. You know, 475 00:22:02,280 --> 00:22:05,120 Speaker 7: one of my favorite athletes of all time is Muhammad 476 00:22:05,119 --> 00:22:08,800 Speaker 7: Ali and him being able to just be approachable to 477 00:22:08,840 --> 00:22:10,919 Speaker 7: anybody that came around. I always wanted to make it 478 00:22:11,480 --> 00:22:14,679 Speaker 7: a great experience. Now when when I'm eating dinner with 479 00:22:14,800 --> 00:22:18,679 Speaker 7: my family, I'll always respect my family first. But I 480 00:22:18,800 --> 00:22:20,640 Speaker 7: got so much respect because I know it's a privilege 481 00:22:20,680 --> 00:22:22,879 Speaker 7: to have this this platform and get a chance to 482 00:22:22,920 --> 00:22:25,240 Speaker 7: serve the community the way that I do with a 483 00:22:25,280 --> 00:22:27,240 Speaker 7: sport that I love. So just knowing I'm a man 484 00:22:27,240 --> 00:22:29,239 Speaker 7: of faith, I'm a man of God, of Christ, and 485 00:22:29,280 --> 00:22:33,080 Speaker 7: I know that I'm here to inspire and increase the 486 00:22:33,080 --> 00:22:35,919 Speaker 7: people of the next generation and even you if you 487 00:22:35,920 --> 00:22:38,360 Speaker 7: come and we'll take well. 488 00:22:38,359 --> 00:22:40,160 Speaker 6: It's a long time coming for us. Good to 512 00:23:51,920 --> 00:23:53,520 Speaker 6: see you, buddy, Thank you so much for your time. 513 00:23:54,160 --> 00:23:56,879 Speaker 6: I guess let's start with this process and how you 514 00:23:57,040 --> 00:24:00,000 Speaker 6: ended up a Cleveland Brown, We're thrilled to have you obvious. 515 00:24:00,680 --> 00:24:03,359 Speaker 11: Uh, it was really easy. I mean my first visit, 516 00:24:03,520 --> 00:24:06,160 Speaker 11: I got released by Buffalo two weeks ago. As soon 517 00:24:06,200 --> 00:24:08,440 Speaker 11: as I got released, Cleveland and some other teams reached 518 00:24:08,440 --> 00:24:10,679 Speaker 11: out Cleveland a text Myiden said, we want to have 519 00:24:10,720 --> 00:24:14,200 Speaker 11: them first. Got me here last Monday. Guy here. Obviously, 520 00:24:14,240 --> 00:24:17,159 Speaker 11: I know Bubba, I know Ken Dorsey yep uh. And 521 00:24:17,200 --> 00:24:19,680 Speaker 11: then I actually saw Duce Daley. When I saw those guys, 522 00:24:19,720 --> 00:24:21,439 Speaker 11: I was like, oh, because dudes actually ran my pro 523 00:24:21,560 --> 00:24:23,439 Speaker 11: day when he was in Philly and I always liked him. 524 00:24:23,440 --> 00:24:25,240 Speaker 11: My dad even said I hope he coached you one day. 525 00:24:25,280 --> 00:24:27,439 Speaker 11: So I saw Duce and I'm like, oh, yeah, I 526 00:24:27,520 --> 00:24:29,960 Speaker 11: like it here. Then I actually have been watching film 527 00:24:30,000 --> 00:24:32,199 Speaker 11: with you guys when you had Joe and Deshaun and 528 00:24:32,240 --> 00:24:34,200 Speaker 11: PJ and all the quarterbacks. So I've been watching film 529 00:24:34,200 --> 00:24:37,040 Speaker 11: and both sides kind of agreed that I think it 530 00:24:37,040 --> 00:24:39,159 Speaker 11: would be a perfect fit, and they thought that and 531 00:24:39,200 --> 00:24:41,160 Speaker 11: we thought that. So it was really easy. I didn't 532 00:24:41,280 --> 00:24:43,800 Speaker 11: I had some more visits set up, but after here, 533 00:24:43,840 --> 00:24:44,840 Speaker 11: I was just like, oh, I like it. 534 00:24:44,880 --> 00:24:45,640 Speaker 2: You got to go where. 535 00:24:45,440 --> 00:24:47,160 Speaker 11: You like, where you feel welcome, and where you feel 536 00:24:47,160 --> 00:24:47,560 Speaker 11: like it's home. 537 00:24:47,640 --> 00:24:48,359 Speaker 2: So that's awesome. 538 00:24:48,400 --> 00:24:50,840 Speaker 3: Well, you said like you're dressed for success today, looking 539 00:24:50,920 --> 00:24:52,199 Speaker 3: very sharp. You said you got to make a good 540 00:24:52,200 --> 00:24:54,520 Speaker 3: first impression. Apparently the Browns did that, and they done 541 00:24:54,520 --> 00:24:57,040 Speaker 3: it visit they've done it, and you did it as well. 542 00:24:57,320 --> 00:24:58,920 Speaker 11: You've already got when I get on the field, I 543 00:24:58,920 --> 00:25:01,320 Speaker 11: got another first impression to make after I rehab, get 544 00:25:01,320 --> 00:25:01,960 Speaker 11: my stuff back. 545 00:25:01,960 --> 00:25:04,520 Speaker 4: And how are you doing physically? 546 00:25:04,560 --> 00:25:07,000 Speaker 11: It's going well. I've been running for about four weeks now. 547 00:25:07,480 --> 00:25:09,280 Speaker 4: How hard was it to miss this season like that? 548 00:25:09,800 --> 00:25:10,400 Speaker 10: Oh, it was. 549 00:25:10,359 --> 00:25:12,240 Speaker 11: Hard, but I think, you know, the biggest thing of 550 00:25:12,280 --> 00:25:14,000 Speaker 11: it, it was a mental reset. It was I want to 551 00:25:14,000 --> 00:25:16,199 Speaker 11: play over ten years. It's my seventh year. I had 552 00:25:16,240 --> 00:25:18,359 Speaker 11: a break I guess in year six. Yeah, so that's 553 00:25:18,400 --> 00:25:20,080 Speaker 11: what I'm looking for. Come back and try to see 554 00:25:20,119 --> 00:25:21,359 Speaker 11: if I can get five more years out of it. 555 00:25:21,400 --> 00:25:24,280 Speaker 11: But I think playing wise, I mean, it was hard watching, 556 00:25:24,320 --> 00:25:26,160 Speaker 11: but I think the rehab with it just sucked. Because 557 00:25:26,160 --> 00:25:28,200 Speaker 11: any person who's ANEE surgery just knows the first two 558 00:25:28,280 --> 00:25:31,359 Speaker 11: or three months are just they're brutal. You can't hardly sleep. 559 00:25:32,520 --> 00:25:34,600 Speaker 11: They have you on certain drugs like the perkosets might 560 00:25:34,640 --> 00:25:37,439 Speaker 11: make you feel weird, like it's it was tough, but uh, 561 00:25:37,560 --> 00:25:40,000 Speaker 11: I think just watching the team, especially watching my former 562 00:25:40,040 --> 00:25:42,680 Speaker 11: team losing the playoffs to a team that I essentially 563 00:25:42,720 --> 00:25:44,840 Speaker 11: really came there to help them beat. That's why even 564 00:25:44,840 --> 00:25:46,200 Speaker 11: went to Buffalo. I'm like, Okay, maybe I could be 565 00:25:46,200 --> 00:25:47,480 Speaker 11: a player to help them get over the top. That 566 00:25:47,560 --> 00:25:51,399 Speaker 11: was really hard just going through the year. But uh, honestly, mentally, 567 00:25:51,400 --> 00:25:53,000 Speaker 11: I've been up and down. But it's been a lot 568 00:25:53,040 --> 00:25:54,400 Speaker 11: better last three four weeks. 569 00:25:54,440 --> 00:25:57,240 Speaker 6: Yeah, got good to see a smiling I like that. Yeah, 570 00:25:57,320 --> 00:25:59,320 Speaker 6: that's it. I can't imagine. I mean, Nick's going through that. 571 00:25:59,440 --> 00:26:01,639 Speaker 6: He had the catastrophic injury he had on his knee, 572 00:26:01,640 --> 00:26:04,800 Speaker 6: and it's those first months when you're having to physical 573 00:26:04,840 --> 00:26:07,200 Speaker 6: it's one thing that like the shock of oh my god, 574 00:26:07,240 --> 00:26:10,280 Speaker 6: this happened. Then the rationalization of like, all right, we're 575 00:26:10,280 --> 00:26:12,480 Speaker 6: gonna do surgery. But then if you then now the 576 00:26:12,560 --> 00:26:14,840 Speaker 6: rehab part, right, I mean, don't need to take. 577 00:26:14,680 --> 00:26:15,640 Speaker 2: You down today. 578 00:26:16,560 --> 00:26:18,560 Speaker 6: I just it just got it seemed to me. It 579 00:26:18,560 --> 00:26:20,479 Speaker 6: seems grilly. I've never been through it. I can't imagine 580 00:26:20,520 --> 00:26:21,040 Speaker 6: going through it. 581 00:26:21,200 --> 00:26:23,359 Speaker 11: I think, yeah, it's like we're professional athletes, Like my 582 00:26:23,400 --> 00:26:25,280 Speaker 11: whole life I've been able to do whatever I wanted to. 583 00:26:25,280 --> 00:26:26,480 Speaker 11: I want to do a backfoob, I can do it 584 00:26:26,520 --> 00:26:28,920 Speaker 11: if I want to anything. And then you tear your ACL, 585 00:26:29,000 --> 00:26:30,880 Speaker 11: and any person tears the a CL knows your quad 586 00:26:30,880 --> 00:26:33,600 Speaker 11: doesn't fire. So I'm like getting ready for surgery and 587 00:26:33,600 --> 00:26:35,399 Speaker 11: they're like, oh yeah, squeeze the quad. I'm squeezing it, 588 00:26:35,400 --> 00:26:37,240 Speaker 11: turning red, about to pass out, and my quad's not 589 00:26:37,280 --> 00:26:39,600 Speaker 11: firing at all. So uh, I think really the first 590 00:26:39,720 --> 00:26:41,640 Speaker 11: part of like that whole surgery is really getting your 591 00:26:41,640 --> 00:26:44,200 Speaker 11: mind and your my mind and my quad personally back 592 00:26:44,240 --> 00:26:46,080 Speaker 11: on track. I wanted to break up with myself in 593 00:26:46,160 --> 00:26:48,440 Speaker 11: the first three moments, but we got the quad going 594 00:26:48,480 --> 00:26:49,920 Speaker 11: and everything's good. 595 00:26:49,920 --> 00:26:50,040 Speaker 12: Now. 596 00:26:50,080 --> 00:26:52,240 Speaker 11: I have great people out lead Orthrow, Deshaun's actually out there. 597 00:26:52,280 --> 00:26:54,680 Speaker 11: We've been actually building our chemistry for about five months 598 00:26:54,680 --> 00:26:57,239 Speaker 11: and didn't even know it, so that's pretty cool. And uh, 599 00:26:57,400 --> 00:26:59,600 Speaker 11: we have great people out there. Doctor Latrosha's great. So 600 00:27:00,000 --> 00:27:01,199 Speaker 11: I think I'm in a good place. I should be 601 00:27:01,200 --> 00:27:02,480 Speaker 11: ready to go for the season, and that's what we're 602 00:27:02,480 --> 00:27:02,840 Speaker 11: working for. 603 00:27:03,080 --> 00:27:06,359 Speaker 3: Then I kind of renew your man. I love playing 604 00:27:06,400 --> 00:27:06,840 Speaker 3: this game. 605 00:27:06,960 --> 00:27:09,439 Speaker 11: Heck yeah, man, I think especially being an Indy for 606 00:27:09,480 --> 00:27:11,080 Speaker 11: five years. I had so many ups and downs, Like 607 00:27:11,080 --> 00:27:12,520 Speaker 11: I played with Andrew. Look that's how I know I'm 608 00:27:12,520 --> 00:27:14,359 Speaker 11: getting old. And then ever since then, ye know, it 609 00:27:14,440 --> 00:27:15,880 Speaker 11: was kind of up down, Like you know, I played 610 00:27:15,880 --> 00:27:18,800 Speaker 11: with Carson Wins, I played with like seven different quarterbacks, Carson, 611 00:27:18,880 --> 00:27:22,320 Speaker 11: Matt phill up to name so Jacobe Brissett. So you know, 612 00:27:22,480 --> 00:27:24,800 Speaker 11: sometimes through that process you're like, dang, like what am 613 00:27:24,800 --> 00:27:26,760 Speaker 11: I doing here? Do I love it? And I know 614 00:27:26,800 --> 00:27:28,680 Speaker 11: one thing after this ACL and watching everybody else play, 615 00:27:28,680 --> 00:27:29,800 Speaker 11: I don't know how much I love it. I would 616 00:27:29,800 --> 00:27:32,080 Speaker 11: do anything to go out there and run and return 617 00:27:32,119 --> 00:27:34,760 Speaker 11: a pun or catch a pass or so that's I think. 618 00:27:34,800 --> 00:27:36,920 Speaker 11: That's really Uh, there's things that happened for a reason, 619 00:27:36,920 --> 00:27:38,880 Speaker 11: and I think God slowed me down. But also really 620 00:27:39,119 --> 00:27:42,000 Speaker 11: I always knew I love football. But I've been healthy 621 00:27:42,040 --> 00:27:45,159 Speaker 11: my whole life. I've missed five games in my entire life. 622 00:27:45,200 --> 00:27:46,960 Speaker 11: I didn't miss my first game until my fifth year 623 00:27:47,000 --> 00:27:48,560 Speaker 11: in Denver. I'm sure a lot of people saw that 624 00:27:48,560 --> 00:27:51,080 Speaker 11: that concussion, and I didn't miss a practicer game before then. 625 00:27:51,119 --> 00:27:52,960 Speaker 11: So I've always been healthy. So it was really hard 626 00:27:53,040 --> 00:27:54,320 Speaker 11: just to not be healthy. 627 00:27:54,560 --> 00:27:56,879 Speaker 6: Ye man, Yeah, you can't imagine it. And then you 628 00:27:56,920 --> 00:27:59,520 Speaker 6: come in here and and you look at what this 629 00:27:59,640 --> 00:28:01,520 Speaker 6: often did towards the end of last season. But then 630 00:28:01,560 --> 00:28:03,879 Speaker 6: also the notion from Kevin Stefanski, like we got to 631 00:28:03,880 --> 00:28:05,280 Speaker 6: be better, we got to be more diversified. 632 00:28:05,280 --> 00:28:06,159 Speaker 4: They bring in Ken. 633 00:28:07,040 --> 00:28:11,080 Speaker 6: You obviously played for him in Buffalo. What elements of 634 00:28:11,200 --> 00:28:13,800 Speaker 6: the offense from Ken's pass do you think will fit 635 00:28:13,920 --> 00:28:15,359 Speaker 6: nicely with this personnel grouping. 636 00:28:16,280 --> 00:28:19,000 Speaker 11: I think Ken Ken's first of all, a great play designer. 637 00:28:19,040 --> 00:28:21,000 Speaker 11: I think in the our prio game and the empties 638 00:28:21,160 --> 00:28:22,719 Speaker 11: and like drop back pass, I think that's where he's 639 00:28:22,720 --> 00:28:25,560 Speaker 11: gonna excel. He loved empties. We've seen Josh Allen have 640 00:28:25,560 --> 00:28:28,359 Speaker 11: a lot of success and empties and then rpo QB runs. 641 00:28:28,359 --> 00:28:29,919 Speaker 11: We have the quarterback to do kind of the same thing. 642 00:28:30,000 --> 00:28:32,480 Speaker 11: DeShawn obviously no solole Lely. He can run great. He's 643 00:28:32,480 --> 00:28:35,359 Speaker 11: a He's a phenomenal athlete. So I played against for 644 00:28:35,400 --> 00:28:37,320 Speaker 11: four or five years in Houston. So I'm excited to 645 00:28:37,359 --> 00:28:39,240 Speaker 11: see him get back to that form because he was 646 00:28:39,360 --> 00:28:43,480 Speaker 11: an elite quarterback. Even after they let go a fuller 647 00:28:43,520 --> 00:28:45,920 Speaker 11: and de Hop, he still through for four thousand yards. 648 00:28:45,920 --> 00:28:47,520 Speaker 11: So we got a we got a guy here, and 649 00:28:47,560 --> 00:28:49,720 Speaker 11: I'm excited to be a part of a playoff team 650 00:28:49,720 --> 00:28:51,640 Speaker 11: with a great quarterback and the number one defense in 651 00:28:51,640 --> 00:28:53,320 Speaker 11: the league. So we can get some punt returns here. 652 00:28:53,440 --> 00:28:55,560 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, you mentioned the punt returns. 653 00:28:55,560 --> 00:28:57,320 Speaker 3: He got a couple of punt return touchdowns in your career, 654 00:28:57,360 --> 00:28:59,640 Speaker 3: a couple of kick return touchdowns. That's something the Brown's 655 00:28:59,640 --> 00:29:02,320 Speaker 3: really been looking for since Josh Cribs has left, honestly 656 00:29:02,320 --> 00:29:04,800 Speaker 3: trying to find that return guy. You know, Bubba, He 657 00:29:04,800 --> 00:29:07,280 Speaker 3: obviously knows you, and obviously that's probably a big reason 658 00:29:07,320 --> 00:29:09,960 Speaker 3: why this all kind of came together. What do you 659 00:29:10,000 --> 00:29:12,560 Speaker 3: love about the return game and how can you help Well? 660 00:29:12,600 --> 00:29:14,400 Speaker 11: First off, I know for sure that I'm sure Bubba 661 00:29:14,440 --> 00:29:18,040 Speaker 11: probably talked to Ab and Kevin and he probably still 662 00:29:18,040 --> 00:29:19,600 Speaker 11: on the table for me. So first off, I think 663 00:29:19,880 --> 00:29:22,320 Speaker 11: Bubba and Kin for talking highly of me here, and 664 00:29:22,960 --> 00:29:24,400 Speaker 11: I know a lot of the schemes with Bubba had 665 00:29:24,440 --> 00:29:26,800 Speaker 11: success there, So I think we have something going on. 666 00:29:26,800 --> 00:29:29,160 Speaker 11: I think we have some success here. Have to do 667 00:29:29,240 --> 00:29:31,360 Speaker 11: my part, read the ball, judge it, trust my teammates. 668 00:29:31,360 --> 00:29:34,280 Speaker 11: We have great special teams guys here. Shoot, I know 669 00:29:34,320 --> 00:29:35,800 Speaker 11: the special team is good. We fought you guys like 670 00:29:35,800 --> 00:29:37,640 Speaker 11: four years ago. In twenty nineteen, so I know you 671 00:29:37,800 --> 00:29:41,200 Speaker 11: and then the joint practice it al. I know it's 672 00:29:41,200 --> 00:29:42,920 Speaker 11: a great scheme. I know we have great players, and 673 00:29:43,120 --> 00:29:44,320 Speaker 11: I know I have to just go back there and 674 00:29:44,320 --> 00:29:45,880 Speaker 11: do my job, and I think it'll take off. 675 00:29:46,120 --> 00:29:48,640 Speaker 3: You are a part of maybe I think one of 676 00:29:48,680 --> 00:29:51,360 Speaker 3: the most. If the NFL has scripted that play would 677 00:29:51,360 --> 00:29:54,280 Speaker 3: have happened your your kick return, the first play after 678 00:29:54,320 --> 00:29:56,720 Speaker 3: the scary incident with Tamar Hamlin. When you kind of 679 00:29:56,720 --> 00:29:58,800 Speaker 3: reflect back on that, was that one of just was 680 00:29:58,800 --> 00:30:01,360 Speaker 3: that a surreal moment with the emotions that I mean 681 00:30:01,400 --> 00:30:04,240 Speaker 3: it was watching it was crazy. 682 00:30:04,520 --> 00:30:06,680 Speaker 11: It was honestly one of the best days of my life. 683 00:30:07,800 --> 00:30:08,280 Speaker 2: Truthfully. 684 00:30:08,280 --> 00:30:10,520 Speaker 11: The first return, I kind of saw it. We played 685 00:30:10,520 --> 00:30:12,479 Speaker 11: them Thursday night, probably three or four weeks ago, when 686 00:30:12,480 --> 00:30:14,680 Speaker 11: we ran the same return and one of their backside 687 00:30:14,680 --> 00:30:17,440 Speaker 11: players tripped me up, but I saw the outside so 688 00:30:18,200 --> 00:30:19,560 Speaker 11: the first player of the game, it kind of looked 689 00:30:19,560 --> 00:30:21,400 Speaker 11: the exact same and this time I bounced it and 690 00:30:21,480 --> 00:30:24,480 Speaker 11: there was nobody there, so really good. The first one 691 00:30:24,560 --> 00:30:26,160 Speaker 11: was crazy what I saw, but the second one we 692 00:30:26,200 --> 00:30:28,560 Speaker 11: drew up in the dirt like we kind of sold 693 00:30:28,600 --> 00:30:30,880 Speaker 11: it off. The original middle return we ran and we 694 00:30:30,920 --> 00:30:33,760 Speaker 11: came back to the left, and I haven't seen many 695 00:30:33,800 --> 00:30:35,840 Speaker 11: returns in my life as a returner just get drawn 696 00:30:35,960 --> 00:30:37,360 Speaker 11: up and work. So it was just one of those 697 00:30:37,440 --> 00:30:39,840 Speaker 11: days where you just in football in sports, so some 698 00:30:39,920 --> 00:30:41,680 Speaker 11: days we're just on Like someday Steph Curry just comes 699 00:30:41,680 --> 00:30:43,120 Speaker 11: out and miss the shot. I just had a day 700 00:30:43,160 --> 00:30:44,880 Speaker 11: like that, and I pray to have more like that. 701 00:30:44,920 --> 00:30:47,760 Speaker 11: I had a day like Bubbas too, So hopefully I 702 00:30:47,760 --> 00:30:49,920 Speaker 11: have another two return game and I'd love to, you know, 703 00:30:50,000 --> 00:30:53,360 Speaker 11: start off the season right. Yeah, start off the season 704 00:30:53,440 --> 00:30:54,000 Speaker 11: right and just. 705 00:30:53,960 --> 00:30:54,320 Speaker 2: Do it right. 706 00:30:54,360 --> 00:30:56,040 Speaker 11: I feel like I should have been the Pro Bowl 707 00:30:56,120 --> 00:30:57,360 Speaker 11: or All Pro, but I feel like I always just 708 00:30:57,360 --> 00:31:01,520 Speaker 11: have good returns in like week seventeen. So yeah, I 709 00:31:01,520 --> 00:31:03,240 Speaker 11: would love to get my knee right and get it 710 00:31:03,280 --> 00:31:06,520 Speaker 11: going right away. I'm a respected returner and I know 711 00:31:06,600 --> 00:31:08,200 Speaker 11: a lot of the punters, so I just got to 712 00:31:08,280 --> 00:31:09,240 Speaker 11: go out there and do my job. 713 00:31:09,720 --> 00:31:12,120 Speaker 6: Did you happen to see you mentioned your relationship with Bubba. 714 00:31:12,160 --> 00:31:14,560 Speaker 6: Did you happen to see the Probably not, but the 715 00:31:14,640 --> 00:31:17,480 Speaker 6: video when we clinched and coaches giving French. 716 00:31:17,200 --> 00:31:18,640 Speaker 11: Thet I didn't see it. Please tell me. 717 00:31:18,840 --> 00:31:20,080 Speaker 4: So he's it's my favorite. 718 00:31:20,080 --> 00:31:22,560 Speaker 6: Stefanski is giving the you know, you know, we did 719 00:31:22,560 --> 00:31:24,560 Speaker 6: it in the in the locker room, made the playoffs, 720 00:31:24,960 --> 00:31:27,320 Speaker 6: and you don't notice it right away. We did, but 721 00:31:27,400 --> 00:31:30,080 Speaker 6: I don't know that fans realize right away Bubba is 722 00:31:30,120 --> 00:31:31,760 Speaker 6: standing next to him with a helmet on. 723 00:31:34,520 --> 00:31:35,240 Speaker 11: That's Bubba though. 724 00:31:35,600 --> 00:31:37,720 Speaker 4: That's exactly what everybody. That's what he said. 725 00:31:37,840 --> 00:31:39,680 Speaker 11: Like one thing I do like about here, like even Larry, 726 00:31:39,680 --> 00:31:41,520 Speaker 11: our strength coach. There's a lot of former players here 727 00:31:41,560 --> 00:31:43,760 Speaker 11: like you like it. Like I was just lifting with Larry. 728 00:31:43,760 --> 00:31:45,600 Speaker 11: He was doing abs with me and lifting, so that's 729 00:31:45,600 --> 00:31:47,640 Speaker 11: pretty cool. I think the thing about Bubba is he's 730 00:31:47,720 --> 00:31:49,800 Speaker 11: very passionate. He's gonna get after. He's gonna coach you hard. 731 00:31:49,880 --> 00:31:51,120 Speaker 11: But like one thing he's gonna do is in the 732 00:31:51,160 --> 00:31:53,040 Speaker 11: film room, he's gonna show his own plays. Like in Indie, 733 00:31:53,040 --> 00:31:54,440 Speaker 11: He's gon show his plays like when they used to 734 00:31:54,440 --> 00:31:56,280 Speaker 11: have the wage. Like I've seen Bubba get knocked out, 735 00:31:56,680 --> 00:31:58,280 Speaker 11: like he said, he's gotten knocked out and didn't even 736 00:31:58,320 --> 00:32:00,800 Speaker 11: know where he was. So as that you can respect it. 737 00:32:00,880 --> 00:32:04,200 Speaker 11: But yeah, I know Bubba. Even in India, Bubby used 738 00:32:04,200 --> 00:32:05,680 Speaker 11: to run sprints side the practice every day. I think 739 00:32:05,680 --> 00:32:07,400 Speaker 11: Bubba still wants to play it I think Bubba probably 740 00:32:07,440 --> 00:32:09,040 Speaker 11: could still suit up, but I'm sure he wants to. 741 00:32:09,320 --> 00:32:12,000 Speaker 3: He definitely want he said. If he can go in 742 00:32:12,000 --> 00:32:13,600 Speaker 3: a straight line, he's fine. But if he has a 743 00:32:13,680 --> 00:32:15,320 Speaker 3: change direction, forget about it. 744 00:32:15,320 --> 00:32:16,720 Speaker 11: Put him on your team. You don't have to do 745 00:32:16,720 --> 00:32:17,960 Speaker 11: that much. Change the direction there. 746 00:32:17,920 --> 00:32:18,680 Speaker 4: Just run down there. 747 00:32:18,840 --> 00:32:21,400 Speaker 3: So one of our our good friends on the program, 748 00:32:21,520 --> 00:32:23,760 Speaker 3: we call him Will Scarlett sent me an article that 749 00:32:23,840 --> 00:32:26,760 Speaker 3: I read that early in your career you went and 750 00:32:26,800 --> 00:32:30,000 Speaker 3: worked actually out of Bojangles because you wanted to own 751 00:32:30,040 --> 00:32:33,360 Speaker 3: some Bojangles franchises. First of all, incredible story. I think 752 00:32:33,360 --> 00:32:35,520 Speaker 3: that's so cool that you wanted to go experience it. 753 00:32:35,560 --> 00:32:37,680 Speaker 3: So I guess we're in the future now. Has have 754 00:32:37,760 --> 00:32:38,800 Speaker 3: you followed through on that? 755 00:32:39,040 --> 00:32:40,800 Speaker 11: No, not yet, not yet. I send some money and 756 00:32:41,600 --> 00:32:43,360 Speaker 11: just waiting my time. First of all, I think that 757 00:32:43,520 --> 00:32:45,960 Speaker 11: takes a lot of time. That probably right from here. 758 00:32:46,120 --> 00:32:48,120 Speaker 11: I have some good friends. I know somebody who owns 759 00:32:48,120 --> 00:32:50,320 Speaker 11: fifty of them. He's kind of been showing me the way. 760 00:32:50,600 --> 00:32:52,760 Speaker 4: Okay, so I think, but it's still in the plans. 761 00:32:52,920 --> 00:32:54,600 Speaker 11: Yeah, I would like to. I like to own the 762 00:32:54,640 --> 00:32:57,120 Speaker 11: business or some sort of restaurant, maybe it was Bojangles 763 00:32:57,200 --> 00:32:58,840 Speaker 11: or something. I would like to give or Chick fil 764 00:32:58,880 --> 00:33:01,719 Speaker 11: A get my foot the door, but uh really got 765 00:33:01,720 --> 00:33:03,880 Speaker 11: I'm trying to focus on football, but I'm not forgetting 766 00:33:03,920 --> 00:33:05,920 Speaker 11: about life at the football, and that's what I'm trying 767 00:33:05,920 --> 00:33:06,080 Speaker 11: to do. 768 00:33:06,320 --> 00:33:09,880 Speaker 6: You had a nice weekend that wolf pecked it, Okay. 769 00:33:11,000 --> 00:33:11,840 Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. 770 00:33:11,840 --> 00:33:12,640 Speaker 2: That was That's fun. 771 00:33:12,720 --> 00:33:15,480 Speaker 11: Right As a in C State fan since I can remember, 772 00:33:15,480 --> 00:33:17,440 Speaker 11: I don't think we've ever had a time where we'll 773 00:33:17,480 --> 00:33:20,040 Speaker 11: have a time like that. We haven't won AC title 774 00:33:20,120 --> 00:33:24,800 Speaker 11: since two since nineteen eighty seven, and we beat Duke 775 00:33:24,920 --> 00:33:28,160 Speaker 11: and Carolina in two days, So there's excuses. 776 00:33:28,400 --> 00:33:29,080 Speaker 2: I was just talking. 777 00:33:29,120 --> 00:33:30,920 Speaker 11: I've been talking a bunch of cold cash and my friend, 778 00:33:31,120 --> 00:33:32,760 Speaker 11: I don't want to hear anything. We beat Duke, we 779 00:33:32,800 --> 00:33:37,120 Speaker 11: beat Carolina, when AC title like that's that's remarkable. Honestly, 780 00:33:37,160 --> 00:33:38,960 Speaker 11: I was super excited to be in C State fan. 781 00:33:39,120 --> 00:33:41,440 Speaker 6: Yeah, that's very very cool. Something you want them to have 799 00:34:13,239 --> 00:34:14,200 Speaker 3: maybe in the back of their mind. 800 00:34:14,880 --> 00:34:18,319 Speaker 11: What is something? Shoot? I mean, I firmly believe this 1045 00:44:23,880 --> 00:44:27,160 Speaker 15: is the best division in football right now. So being 1046 00:44:27,160 --> 00:44:29,480 Speaker 15: a part of that and just everything that's being built here, 1047 00:44:29,520 --> 00:44:32,000 Speaker 15: it's you know, and all the history behind it. 1048 00:44:32,000 --> 00:44:32,960 Speaker 4: It's really exciting. 1049 00:44:33,280 --> 00:44:35,759 Speaker 6: And you're telling us, you're telling us off air your 1050 00:44:36,440 --> 00:44:39,359 Speaker 6: little son's over there. He's fifteen months old, so he's 1051 00:44:39,400 --> 00:44:41,440 Speaker 6: cruising and he's part of it. And you're telling us 1052 00:44:41,480 --> 00:44:45,560 Speaker 6: off air that your dad came over from Italy at 1053 00:44:45,680 --> 00:44:47,200 Speaker 6: ten I think is what you said. And of course 1054 00:44:47,640 --> 00:44:50,000 Speaker 6: the Italian culture big up here in Cleveland. Literally all 1055 00:44:50,040 --> 00:44:53,279 Speaker 6: of those things are you we're even aware of any 1056 00:44:53,320 --> 00:44:56,399 Speaker 6: of that stuff? And how cool is that to kind 1057 00:44:56,400 --> 00:44:57,719 Speaker 6: of have that connection. I know that's a part of 1058 00:44:57,719 --> 00:44:59,040 Speaker 6: your hair, which means a great deal to you. 1059 00:44:59,400 --> 00:45:04,080 Speaker 15: Yeah, I actually there's being from Cincinnati, there's not a 1060 00:45:04,160 --> 00:45:05,759 Speaker 15: ton I knew about Cleveland. But the one thing I did, 1061 00:45:05,840 --> 00:45:07,440 Speaker 15: my mom spent a little time here when she was 1062 00:45:07,880 --> 00:45:08,600 Speaker 15: in her twenties. 1063 00:45:08,800 --> 00:45:11,000 Speaker 4: I knew of little Italy, so that's what I didn't know. 1064 00:45:11,960 --> 00:45:13,640 Speaker 15: But no, like you said, my dad came over when 1065 00:45:13,640 --> 00:45:17,200 Speaker 15: he was young and been a big part of you know, 1066 00:45:17,520 --> 00:45:21,920 Speaker 15: our family and my heritage, and it's just it's just 1067 00:45:22,840 --> 00:45:25,600 Speaker 15: really cool to be able to, you know, be back 1068 00:45:25,880 --> 00:45:27,719 Speaker 15: in Ohio. But then also I have that connection here 1069 00:45:27,840 --> 00:45:30,320 Speaker 15: just kind of feels like, you know, where I'm supposed 1070 00:45:30,320 --> 00:45:30,520 Speaker 15: to be. 1071 00:45:30,560 --> 00:45:33,280 Speaker 4: So, yeah, where where is your family from? In Italy? 1072 00:45:33,880 --> 00:45:37,960 Speaker 15: So it's really small mountaintown Chiwitzanova. 1073 00:45:38,320 --> 00:45:41,000 Speaker 8: It's the like thousand people. 1074 00:45:41,480 --> 00:45:43,200 Speaker 4: So at least that's how he described to me when 1075 00:45:43,200 --> 00:45:43,680 Speaker 4: he's younger. 1076 00:45:43,760 --> 00:45:47,040 Speaker 15: Maybe it's grown a little bit, but yeah, they came 1077 00:45:47,080 --> 00:45:49,759 Speaker 15: over and I actually went to Canada first and made 1078 00:45:49,760 --> 00:45:53,040 Speaker 15: it down to Cincinnati, so and then they've been there 1079 00:45:53,040 --> 00:45:53,520 Speaker 15: ever since. 1080 00:45:53,600 --> 00:45:57,200 Speaker 6: So who's your who's your team over there? In in 1081 00:45:57,280 --> 00:45:59,719 Speaker 6: the in the soccer? You've ague you Northern Italy? What 1082 00:46:00,040 --> 00:46:01,640 Speaker 6: do you when you were young? 1083 00:46:01,920 --> 00:46:07,759 Speaker 15: My family uh is Juventus? Yeah yeah, but I mean it, 1084 00:46:07,920 --> 00:46:11,280 Speaker 15: uh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's very. 1085 00:46:11,120 --> 00:46:14,839 Speaker 4: Cool, very good kits, that's for sure. It's a beautiful kit. 1086 00:46:14,960 --> 00:46:16,960 Speaker 6: It went a little bit over there too. Yeah, we're 1087 00:46:16,960 --> 00:46:18,680 Speaker 6: thrilled to have you here. This this room that you're 1088 00:46:18,680 --> 00:46:22,480 Speaker 6: in is one obviously, Chiefs just thrived last year and 1089 00:46:22,480 --> 00:46:24,759 Speaker 6: and this is an offense that that is is one 1090 00:46:24,760 --> 00:46:26,880 Speaker 6: that's taking advantage of it before. For the folks out 1091 00:46:26,880 --> 00:46:28,719 Speaker 6: there who haven't seen you play in Carolina last couple 1092 00:46:28,719 --> 00:46:30,759 Speaker 6: of years, just describe your game a little bit in. 1093 00:46:30,840 --> 00:46:32,360 Speaker 14: Terms of what you're going to bring to the organization. 1094 00:46:33,000 --> 00:46:33,239 Speaker 2: Yeah. 1095 00:46:33,360 --> 00:46:35,600 Speaker 15: So I feel like kind of the name of my 1096 00:46:35,640 --> 00:46:39,799 Speaker 15: game is versatility. In college, I was a receiver, moved 1097 00:46:39,800 --> 00:46:43,000 Speaker 15: a tight end, came to the pros as a tight end. 1098 00:46:43,040 --> 00:46:45,799 Speaker 15: Then I did quite a bit of fullback for Carolina 1099 00:46:47,680 --> 00:46:49,440 Speaker 15: and just being you know, I've done a little bit 1100 00:46:49,480 --> 00:46:51,240 Speaker 15: of a hand in the dirt off the ball, wing 1101 00:46:51,520 --> 00:46:56,160 Speaker 15: in the backfield, special teams. So I feel like for me, 1102 00:46:57,120 --> 00:47:00,440 Speaker 15: what I kind of strive to do, and you know, 1103 00:47:00,560 --> 00:47:02,480 Speaker 15: I prime myself on is you know, whatever's asked me, 1104 00:47:02,560 --> 00:47:05,440 Speaker 15: whatever's needed, being able to do, being ready to do, 1105 00:47:06,920 --> 00:47:09,360 Speaker 15: and just being able to contribute anyway I can n 1106 00:47:09,640 --> 00:47:10,680 Speaker 15: So it's good. 1107 00:47:10,719 --> 00:47:13,399 Speaker 3: A little converted receiver and then now you're blocking defensive ends. 1108 00:47:13,400 --> 00:47:14,719 Speaker 3: That's got to be a little bit of a change 1109 00:47:14,719 --> 00:47:15,439 Speaker 3: from what you did in. 1110 00:47:15,360 --> 00:47:16,680 Speaker 4: College a little bit. 1111 00:47:16,760 --> 00:47:20,800 Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean it was definitely my first training camp. 1112 00:47:21,080 --> 00:47:24,719 Speaker 15: Uh you know that they had Brian Bury, so you know, 1113 00:47:24,840 --> 00:47:27,040 Speaker 15: it's it's definitely you know a little bit of a 1114 00:47:27,040 --> 00:47:28,719 Speaker 15: little bit of a shot going from there there. But 1115 00:47:28,800 --> 00:47:30,680 Speaker 15: you know, it's been I was fortunate to have, you know, 1116 00:47:30,719 --> 00:47:34,120 Speaker 15: great coaches, great teammates, you know, showing me the ropes 1117 00:47:34,200 --> 00:47:38,120 Speaker 15: and being able to play and learn more about the 1118 00:47:38,160 --> 00:47:40,840 Speaker 15: game and just you know, get me to this point. 1119 00:47:40,960 --> 00:47:43,160 Speaker 4: So that's awesome. And 1197 00:51:09,000 --> 00:51:13,080 Speaker 16: opportunity to play under coach Schwartz again obviously is a 1198 00:51:13,640 --> 00:51:16,560 Speaker 16: huge part of this entire thing. Knowing the defense, being 1199 00:51:16,560 --> 00:51:19,120 Speaker 16: able to walk in. But I know guys that were 1200 00:51:19,120 --> 00:51:24,279 Speaker 16: here last year, right, like Ronnie McLeod, Sadarius, and the 1201 00:51:24,360 --> 00:51:28,600 Speaker 16: ability to walk into something that is established that I 1202 00:51:28,640 --> 00:51:32,080 Speaker 16: have a ton of respect for. You know, I've followed 1203 00:51:32,440 --> 00:51:35,919 Speaker 16: Coach Schwartz's defense over the years, and to be able 1204 00:51:35,920 --> 00:51:39,960 Speaker 16: to watch what happened last year, right, is obviously extremely impressive. 1205 00:51:40,040 --> 00:51:43,880 Speaker 14: So excited to be here, you know, and excited to 1206 00:51:43,920 --> 00:51:44,279 Speaker 14: get going. 1207 00:51:44,480 --> 00:51:46,720 Speaker 3: It's certainly excited to have you mentioned coach Schwarts. Obviously 1208 00:51:46,800 --> 00:51:49,040 Speaker 3: started your career with the Philadelphia Eagles, going into your 1209 00:51:49,080 --> 00:51:52,480 Speaker 3: tenth season, which probably seems crazy. Yeah, what was it 1210 00:51:52,480 --> 00:51:54,480 Speaker 3: about coach Schwartz that you like so much? Obviously the 1211 00:51:54,480 --> 00:51:56,040 Speaker 3: success you guys had winning that Super Bowl. 1212 00:51:56,120 --> 00:52:00,400 Speaker 16: Yeah, he does a great job of keeping things simple, uh, 1213 00:52:00,880 --> 00:52:03,640 Speaker 16: and and preparing you for for Sundays. When I think 1214 00:52:03,680 --> 00:52:05,719 Speaker 16: back of some of the most clear minded football that 1215 00:52:05,719 --> 00:52:07,560 Speaker 16: I've played, it was under him, and it's and that's 1216 00:52:07,600 --> 00:52:10,520 Speaker 16: because of the preparation that he gives you, uh, you know, 1217 00:52:10,719 --> 00:52:14,480 Speaker 16: and and the way he teaches his defenses and your 1218 00:52:14,560 --> 00:52:18,239 Speaker 16: your ability to excel when you when you know what's coming, 1219 00:52:18,360 --> 00:52:22,120 Speaker 16: and so you know, the ability to just slow things down, 1220 00:52:22,239 --> 00:52:25,680 Speaker 16: get back into that that frame. But then also you 1221 00:52:25,680 --> 00:52:30,040 Speaker 16: know it going into year ten, having the ability to compete, right, 1222 00:52:30,320 --> 00:52:33,640 Speaker 16: compete for uh to make the playoffs, compete to win 1223 00:52:33,640 --> 00:52:37,000 Speaker 16: a championship, right, That's a huge part of my decision 1224 00:52:37,000 --> 00:52:37,760 Speaker 16: making process. 1225 00:52:37,800 --> 00:52:39,719 Speaker 14: And you know, I believe in this in this team. 1226 00:52:39,840 --> 00:52:41,640 Speaker 4: It's excited to be back in Ohio as well. 1227 00:52:41,840 --> 00:52:42,160 Speaker 7: It is. 1228 00:52:42,280 --> 00:52:44,840 Speaker 16: Yeah, I haven't been back in a while. Grew up 1229 00:52:44,880 --> 00:52:49,680 Speaker 16: in Cincinnati. Mom still lives there. Uh so I didn't know. 1230 00:52:49,760 --> 00:52:51,680 Speaker 16: I moved around a lot as a kid, and so 1231 00:52:52,360 --> 00:52:54,960 Speaker 16: I didn't really pick up a team growing up. But 1232 00:52:56,520 --> 00:52:58,440 Speaker 16: being back is is good a lot of I got 1233 00:52:58,440 --> 00:53:00,440 Speaker 16: a lot of texts from locals that, you know, friends 1234 00:53:00,440 --> 00:53:02,399 Speaker 16: that I've I've made over the years, and I sure 1235 00:53:02,600 --> 00:53:03,919 Speaker 16: haven't seen me play in a long time. 1236 00:53:04,040 --> 00:53:05,040 Speaker 4: Yeah, well that'll be very cool. 1237 00:53:05,080 --> 00:53:07,799 Speaker 3: I certainly will get that opportunity in Cincinnati and in 1238 00:53:07,840 --> 00:53:10,799 Speaker 3: Cleveland in the upcoming season. You mentioned knowing some guys, 1239 00:53:10,840 --> 00:53:13,279 Speaker 3: you know, Zadarius and Dalvin are with you there in Minnesota, 1240 00:53:13,360 --> 00:53:15,480 Speaker 3: you mentioned Rod and and all of you're familiarity with 1241 00:53:15,760 --> 00:53:18,600 Speaker 3: coach Schwartz. Does that help when you choose a new place, 1242 00:53:18,640 --> 00:53:20,440 Speaker 3: and especially in your role, when you say, oh, I 1243 00:53:20,480 --> 00:53:22,120 Speaker 3: know it Zidarius is going to do up there. I 1244 00:53:22,120 --> 00:53:23,799 Speaker 3: know a Dalvin's going to do up there, and you 1245 00:53:23,840 --> 00:53:24,960 Speaker 3: get to clean it up right behind him. 1246 00:53:25,040 --> 00:53:25,440 Speaker 14: Yeah, it does. 1247 00:53:25,480 --> 00:53:28,640 Speaker 16: And the ability to understand what the defense is right 1248 00:53:28,800 --> 00:53:31,480 Speaker 16: enhances it even more so. You know, I'm excited to 1249 00:53:31,480 --> 00:53:35,279 Speaker 16: get around the guys, you know, establish a role, you know, 1250 00:53:35,360 --> 00:53:38,560 Speaker 16: meet everybody, uh, and and just you know, ultimately help 1251 00:53:38,600 --> 00:53:39,879 Speaker 16: this team as much as I can. 1252 00:53:40,080 --> 00:53:41,319 Speaker 3: Well, I know one of the things you do very 1253 00:53:41,320 --> 00:53:43,920 Speaker 3: well is lead. You've been a captain in this league. 1254 00:53:44,680 --> 00:53:47,320 Speaker 3: How would you describe your leadership style service? 1255 00:53:48,320 --> 00:53:50,080 Speaker 14: You know, I try to be as genuine as possible. 1256 00:53:50,120 --> 00:53:53,279 Speaker 16: I came into a situation, uh, with quite a bit 1257 00:53:53,320 --> 00:53:55,600 Speaker 16: of veterans in the room. I had to Miko Ryans 1258 00:53:55,640 --> 00:53:59,200 Speaker 16: as a as a fellow linebacker. His last year and 1259 00:53:59,239 --> 00:54:02,759 Speaker 16: he played a sign unificant role in uh kind of 1260 00:54:02,800 --> 00:54:06,319 Speaker 16: my maturation. Throughout the years, I've had to come to 1261 00:54:06,400 --> 00:54:09,359 Speaker 16: terms with a lot of different scenarios, UH and been 1262 00:54:09,400 --> 00:54:11,120 Speaker 16: faced with a lot of different scenarios, and I always 1263 00:54:11,200 --> 00:54:14,000 Speaker 16: lean back to my rookie year and kind of the 1264 00:54:14,000 --> 00:54:16,480 Speaker 16: foundation that I had with the Miko and that's you know, 1265 00:54:16,560 --> 00:54:22,200 Speaker 16: handled things with grace. You know, be service driven because 1266 00:54:22,200 --> 00:54:25,040 Speaker 16: if you can't teach it, you know, and you're not 1267 00:54:25,080 --> 00:54:25,520 Speaker 16: going to know. 1268 00:54:25,480 --> 00:54:26,280 Speaker 14: What to do on the field. 1269 00:54:27,280 --> 00:54:29,200 Speaker 16: And then at the end of the day, you know, 1270 00:54:29,400 --> 00:54:32,040 Speaker 16: just be a good person and help others. So it's 1271 00:54:32,120 --> 00:54:35,359 Speaker 16: kind of my friend of mine, you know, and. 1272 00:54:35,280 --> 00:54:37,600 Speaker 14: That's that's how that's how I've had successfully. 1273 00:54:37,880 --> 00:54:39,560 Speaker 3: I can tell you the person that I know who 1274 00:54:39,640 --> 00:54:42,479 Speaker 3: knew you the LONGSIS coach Banda, and he's, yeah, he 1275 00:54:42,520 --> 00:54:45,320 Speaker 3: loves you. Couldn't say enough things about you. So obviously 1276 00:54:45,400 --> 00:54:47,000 Speaker 3: the leadership clearly is there. And that's what he said, 1277 00:54:47,000 --> 00:54:49,000 Speaker 3: That's who he was day one at Texas and you've 1278 00:54:49,000 --> 00:54:51,239 Speaker 3: carried that through here to the league. Five straight hunter 1279 00:54:51,320 --> 00:54:54,440 Speaker 3: tackle seasons. You're one of the best cover linebackers in 1280 00:54:54,480 --> 00:54:56,359 Speaker 3: the league. You had five picks your second year back 1281 00:54:56,400 --> 00:54:58,719 Speaker 3: in Philadelphia, how would you describe your game to our 1282 00:54:58,760 --> 00:55:01,240 Speaker 3: fans and what they're getting in Jordan Hicks. 1283 00:55:01,440 --> 00:55:07,680 Speaker 16: Yeah, physical. I enjoy being physical. I enjoy making plays. 1284 00:55:08,360 --> 00:55:10,719 Speaker 16: You know, I have fun when I play. What's one thing that you would 1295 00:55:37,080 --> 00:55:39,080 Speaker 3: want Browns fans when they look out on the field 1296 00:55:39,080 --> 00:55:40,759 Speaker 3: they see Hicks on the back of your jersey. My first year I was with Michael Bennett, 1616 01:08:33,760 --> 01:08:36,400 Speaker 2: who I live like modeled my game after and still 1617 01:08:36,439 --> 01:08:38,759 Speaker 2: to this day he coaches me up in cliff April 1618 01:08:39,160 --> 01:08:42,120 Speaker 2: and just getting my hands, they got my hands good, 1619 01:08:42,160 --> 01:08:45,000 Speaker 2: and just my knowledge of the game. And yeah, just 1620 01:08:45,120 --> 01:08:46,680 Speaker 2: year in year all I was fortunate to play with 1621 01:08:46,720 --> 01:08:49,400 Speaker 2: great players and I try to just take away something 1622 01:08:49,439 --> 01:08:51,800 Speaker 2: of everybody's game, you know, and just always trying to 1623 01:08:51,880 --> 01:08:55,959 Speaker 2: just learn and build and just just I love competing, 1624 01:08:56,080 --> 01:08:57,920 Speaker 2: you know. So every year I just come out with 1625 01:08:58,000 --> 01:09:00,759 Speaker 2: a new attitude, new mind just trying to make myself 1626 01:09:00,800 --> 01:09:03,000 Speaker 2: better even this year. Like I think last year was 1627 01:09:03,200 --> 01:09:05,320 Speaker 2: a good season, but I want to be even better 1628 01:09:05,320 --> 01:09:09,639 Speaker 2: than it was last year. And yeah, just like yeah, 1629 01:09:09,760 --> 01:09:12,439 Speaker 2: just been blessed with just having the mindset, competitive adge 1630 01:09:12,439 --> 01:09:13,439 Speaker 2: and just just worked out. 1631 01:09:14,000 --> 01:09:15,880 Speaker 6: You know, it's centric when you when you're you have 1632 01:09:15,960 --> 01:09:18,040 Speaker 6: the choice to go whatever you want and you went 1633 01:09:18,080 --> 01:09:19,760 Speaker 6: through this process and you said you, well, probably would 1634 01:09:19,800 --> 01:09:21,840 Speaker 6: have thought I wouldn't end up back with the Jets. Uh, 1635 01:09:21,880 --> 01:09:24,320 Speaker 6: when when Cleveland decide? When it when it became obviously 1636 01:09:24,360 --> 01:09:27,760 Speaker 6: Cleveland was interested. What what type of work do you 1637 01:09:27,800 --> 01:09:29,840 Speaker 6: do then to make sure it's a fit. How how 1638 01:09:29,880 --> 01:09:32,120 Speaker 6: close do you look at what Jim Schwartz does defensively 1639 01:09:32,439 --> 01:09:34,120 Speaker 6: the guys in the room, because obviously you want to play, 1640 01:09:34,160 --> 01:09:36,120 Speaker 6: you want to have impact. Six sex last year, Yeah, 1641 01:09:36,160 --> 01:09:38,439 Speaker 6: let's get seven next year. Like, how how do you 1642 01:09:38,439 --> 01:09:40,280 Speaker 6: what do you look at? What's that checklist look like? 1643 01:09:40,720 --> 01:09:41,479 Speaker 6: Definitely scheme. 1644 01:09:41,640 --> 01:09:45,519 Speaker 2: Scheme is the biggest thing, and you know, coming into 1645 01:09:45,520 --> 01:09:48,320 Speaker 2: the league, I always use it in a handful of ways. 1646 01:09:48,320 --> 01:09:51,000 Speaker 2: I played probably every position across the D line, but 1647 01:09:51,320 --> 01:09:54,599 Speaker 2: just knowing what that coordinator's vision is for you and 1648 01:09:55,160 --> 01:09:56,679 Speaker 2: definitely a line. I don't know if you know, guys 1649 01:09:56,720 --> 01:09:59,320 Speaker 2: know I came here last year on a visit and 1650 01:09:59,400 --> 01:10:02,080 Speaker 2: honestly was between here and the Jets end up going 1651 01:10:02,080 --> 01:10:04,080 Speaker 2: to New York. But you know, everything works yourself out, 1652 01:10:04,479 --> 01:10:09,439 Speaker 2: and I mean I'm back here and yeah, it worked out. 1653 01:10:09,479 --> 01:10:11,280 Speaker 2: House supposed to think you said, like Schwartz, I know 1654 01:10:11,840 --> 01:10:13,920 Speaker 2: he's gonna put me in a great situation. His defense, 1655 01:10:13,960 --> 01:10:15,080 Speaker 2: the D line always eats. 1656 01:10:15,080 --> 01:10:15,320 Speaker 14: You know. 1657 01:10:15,840 --> 01:10:18,240 Speaker 2: I feel like I'm best utilized when I could get 1658 01:10:18,280 --> 01:10:19,599 Speaker 2: off the ball, create havoc. 1659 01:10:19,760 --> 01:10:20,880 Speaker 4: That's what they're gonna tell you to do. 1660 01:10:21,040 --> 01:10:25,680 Speaker 2: Yes, you're going, yeah, go. And even Jock we we 1661 01:10:25,760 --> 01:10:28,040 Speaker 2: had familiarity. He was with me and the Bills, and 1662 01:10:28,080 --> 01:10:29,479 Speaker 2: I know he's gonna get and put me in the 1663 01:10:29,479 --> 01:10:32,000 Speaker 2: best position to be successful. So it just yeah, worked out. 1664 01:10:32,160 --> 01:10:34,560 Speaker 4: You're with Shelby and Seattle, right, Yeah, you talk to 1665 01:10:34,600 --> 01:10:35,200 Speaker 4: Shelby at all. 1666 01:10:35,520 --> 01:10:37,240 Speaker 2: No, I still got a holler out of man Shelby. 1667 01:10:37,240 --> 01:10:38,000 Speaker 2: He a funny dude. 1668 01:10:38,120 --> 01:10:40,479 Speaker 4: Yeah, he was just in here last week. 1669 01:10:40,560 --> 01:10:41,320 Speaker 2: He re signed. 1670 01:10:41,520 --> 01:10:42,639 Speaker 4: A hilarious guy. 1671 01:10:42,960 --> 01:10:44,519 Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to get in the locker room and 1672 01:10:44,560 --> 01:10:47,080 Speaker 2: joe him some more. That's gonna be fun. 1673 01:10:47,240 --> 01:10:49,600 Speaker 3: It's and it's a very good I would say, and 1674 01:10:49,680 --> 01:10:53,080 Speaker 3: a very veteran room. You'll have yourself. Shelby, Maurice Hurst 1675 01:10:53,200 --> 01:10:55,640 Speaker 3: has been league for while, Dalvin Tomlinson and then in 1676 01:10:55,680 --> 01:10:57,880 Speaker 3: the edge you know, Miles and Zadarius have been around 1677 01:10:57,880 --> 01:11:00,120 Speaker 3: for a while of Ookronco. So it's a good it's 1678 01:11:00,120 --> 01:11:02,120 Speaker 3: a good mix. It's a tight room. I think you 1679 01:11:02,120 --> 01:11:03,880 Speaker 3: guys have a lot of fun. Do you like, do 1680 01:11:03,960 --> 01:11:06,439 Speaker 3: you care for three three fours? That's something because I'm 1681 01:11:06,439 --> 01:11:08,120 Speaker 3: sure you've been in all of it throughout your career. 1682 01:11:08,200 --> 01:11:10,120 Speaker 3: But this will be more similar of a. 1683 01:11:10,040 --> 01:11:12,840 Speaker 4: Man just saw what Sala was having to you. 1684 01:11:13,640 --> 01:11:15,519 Speaker 2: I used to say like, oh, it really doesn't matter, 1685 01:11:15,560 --> 01:11:18,400 Speaker 2: but it being a little older, I think it does. 1686 01:11:18,760 --> 01:11:21,160 Speaker 2: It does matter. I definitely prefer to being a fourth 1687 01:11:21,160 --> 01:11:23,839 Speaker 2: three skin, you know, I think four to three skins 1688 01:11:24,080 --> 01:11:26,880 Speaker 2: do showcase d Line Moore three four. I feel like 1689 01:11:26,880 --> 01:11:30,000 Speaker 2: what you're asked is kind of hold up blocks and 1690 01:11:30,040 --> 01:11:32,680 Speaker 2: be like a bigger bill guy. And like when I 1691 01:11:32,680 --> 01:11:34,599 Speaker 2: went back to Seattle doing it again, I was like, yeah, 1692 01:11:34,640 --> 01:11:38,080 Speaker 2: the same for me. Rather rather use my athletics, I'm 1693 01:11:38,080 --> 01:11:40,759 Speaker 2: at my best going this way, not reading and holding 1694 01:11:40,800 --> 01:11:41,280 Speaker 2: guys up. 1695 01:11:41,680 --> 01:11:44,200 Speaker 3: So one thing you were used to that'll be similar 1696 01:11:44,240 --> 01:11:46,480 Speaker 3: to last year was you had a very good secondary 1697 01:11:46,479 --> 01:11:48,680 Speaker 3: behind you, you know, with sauce and read, and you 1698 01:11:48,760 --> 01:11:49,439 Speaker 3: knew that at. 1699 01:11:49,360 --> 01:11:51,320 Speaker 4: Times they were gonna have to hold the ball that 1700 01:11:51,439 --> 01:11:52,160 Speaker 4: let's get there. 1701 01:11:52,400 --> 01:11:55,639 Speaker 3: So you know, Denzel m j Emmerson, Greg knew someone 1702 01:11:55,640 --> 01:11:58,920 Speaker 3: We've got good safeties as well, and we're going third 1703 01:11:58,920 --> 01:12:01,880 Speaker 3: along a lot, so that I imagine music to your ears. 1704 01:12:01,920 --> 01:12:03,639 Speaker 3: But how important is that you know, when you're thinking 1705 01:12:03,640 --> 01:12:05,360 Speaker 3: of it as a defensive lineman, when you know that 1706 01:12:05,360 --> 01:12:08,160 Speaker 3: the guys behind you can cover, how much easier does 1707 01:12:08,200 --> 01:12:09,679 Speaker 3: that make your job or change your mindset? 1708 01:12:10,680 --> 01:12:13,000 Speaker 2: It makes it kind of easier, but honestly, I would 1709 01:12:13,000 --> 01:12:14,559 Speaker 2: say it kind of makes it harder because I know 1710 01:12:15,520 --> 01:12:17,920 Speaker 2: if they complete a pass, it's on us, especially a 1711 01:12:17,920 --> 01:12:20,320 Speaker 2: third long. So it's like I have to have an 1712 01:12:20,360 --> 01:12:23,360 Speaker 2: even more heightened sense of urgency because I know, like, man, 1713 01:12:23,400 --> 01:12:25,280 Speaker 2: he pat the ball, we got to get home. We 1714 01:12:25,360 --> 01:12:27,720 Speaker 2: got to get home. So everybody has to raise their 1715 01:12:27,760 --> 01:12:30,040 Speaker 2: sense of urgency, you know, so you got to act 1716 01:12:30,040 --> 01:12:32,400 Speaker 2: like your hair is on fire. So yeah, knowing that, 1717 01:12:32,439 --> 01:12:33,840 Speaker 2: I just want to do my part. I'm like, I 1718 01:12:33,880 --> 01:12:36,000 Speaker 2: don't want my brothers out there covering all day. So 1719 01:12:36,200 --> 01:12:37,320 Speaker 2: like we get a pat, we got to get the 1720 01:12:37,360 --> 01:12:37,960 Speaker 2: quarterback down. 1721 01:12:38,240 --> 01:12:40,599 Speaker 4: I like that, Yeah, this is a get a sack. 1722 01:12:40,960 --> 01:12:43,160 Speaker 6: I'm looking at these places you've been, Probably the most 1723 01:12:43,160 --> 01:12:46,760 Speaker 6: similar from a rabid fan base is probably Buffalo is 1724 01:12:47,080 --> 01:12:49,760 Speaker 6: probably a similar. And this is man, this is a 1725 01:12:49,840 --> 01:12:53,479 Speaker 6: hungry town, it's a hungry team. It's a hungry division, Like, 1726 01:12:53,920 --> 01:12:55,160 Speaker 6: I mean, it's gonna be a lot of fun, but 1727 01:12:55,280 --> 01:12:58,040 Speaker 6: this is a snake pit of a division when when 1728 01:12:58,080 --> 01:13:00,200 Speaker 6: you look and how much have you paid attention you 1729 01:13:00,560 --> 01:13:02,360 Speaker 6: all of the teams in the North, what you have 1730 01:13:02,560 --> 01:13:04,599 Speaker 6: signing up for in a weekend week at our basis 1731 01:13:04,600 --> 01:13:05,040 Speaker 6: playing in it? 1732 01:13:05,120 --> 01:13:07,599 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, I'm from Pittsburgh, so you know up. Yeah, 1733 01:13:07,640 --> 01:13:09,840 Speaker 2: I grew up watching this division even over the years 1734 01:13:09,840 --> 01:13:13,000 Speaker 2: how it's evolved to now. Yeah, it's probably the most 1735 01:13:13,000 --> 01:13:16,439 Speaker 2: competitive Convision division in football right now, you know, And 1736 01:13:16,520 --> 01:13:18,320 Speaker 2: I'm excited. I mean, I think that just raised my 1737 01:13:18,400 --> 01:13:20,519 Speaker 2: level of play. I know, there's no off days. You 1738 01:13:20,560 --> 01:13:23,400 Speaker 2: got to come weekend, week out ready to deliver. And 1739 01:13:23,400 --> 01:13:26,080 Speaker 2: not only just it's the brand of football. It's physical, 1740 01:13:26,360 --> 01:13:28,559 Speaker 2: you know, And I know, yeah, I have to have 1741 01:13:28,640 --> 01:13:31,120 Speaker 2: the right mindset, come again with the with my mind 1742 01:13:31,200 --> 01:13:33,880 Speaker 2: right weekend week out there, get physical, get dirty, And 1743 01:13:33,880 --> 01:13:34,719 Speaker 2: I'm I'm excited. 1744 01:13:35,000 --> 01:13:36,559 Speaker 4: I feel like Russ is going to be sad that 1745 01:13:36,640 --> 01:13:37,360 Speaker 4: you're in the. 1746 01:13:37,320 --> 01:13:40,960 Speaker 2: Division, no doubt, that's my boy. Man. I'm glad Russ. 1747 01:13:41,080 --> 01:13:43,679 Speaker 2: He had a good situation, good opportunity now, but definitely 1748 01:13:43,720 --> 01:13:45,320 Speaker 2: he's going down. We play. 1749 01:13:46,400 --> 01:13:48,519 Speaker 4: I like it I like it. I like it. So 1750 01:13:49,680 --> 01:13:52,080 Speaker 4: this is obviously exciting for you. Family. 1751 01:13:52,160 --> 01:13:55,840 Speaker 3: You got four kids, three girls, twins, so you're outnumbered 1752 01:13:55,840 --> 01:13:56,679 Speaker 3: all the time at home. 1753 01:13:57,280 --> 01:13:59,800 Speaker 4: How has that been? And have they Cleveland? 1754 01:14:01,040 --> 01:14:03,240 Speaker 2: I think they don't know even what to expect, because 1755 01:14:03,640 --> 01:14:05,080 Speaker 2: I don't think we We don't know if we ever 1756 01:14:05,120 --> 01:14:07,040 Speaker 2: been to o High or Cleveland in general. But you know, 1757 01:14:07,080 --> 01:14:09,680 Speaker 2: they're always exciting enough for a new adventure, new opportunity. 1758 01:14:09,720 --> 01:14:11,960 Speaker 2: And yeah, those my babies, they keep me going. They're 1759 01:14:12,000 --> 01:14:13,519 Speaker 2: the reason why I do the things I do, the 1760 01:14:13,600 --> 01:14:15,160 Speaker 2: reason why I push my body the way I do 1761 01:14:15,520 --> 01:14:17,840 Speaker 2: in order to provide a good life for them and 1762 01:14:17,880 --> 01:14:20,280 Speaker 2: for to be you know, a role model for them. 1763 01:14:20,320 --> 01:14:22,080 Speaker 2: You know, they see your dad get up go to 1764 01:14:22,120 --> 01:14:23,680 Speaker 2: work every day. Like we just got off a flight 1765 01:14:23,720 --> 01:14:26,000 Speaker 2: from Seattle. I'm back on the flight coming out here, 1766 01:14:26,280 --> 01:14:28,120 Speaker 2: you know. And at the end of the day, it's 1767 01:14:28,120 --> 01:14:29,800 Speaker 2: all worth it when when I see the smile on 1768 01:14:29,840 --> 01:14:32,519 Speaker 2: their faces. When you get that opportunity. Are 1920 01:20:41,200 --> 01:20:42,599 Speaker 3: you guys who just feels like the more you get 1921 01:20:42,600 --> 01:20:44,360 Speaker 3: the ball, the better you get because you can wear 1922 01:20:44,400 --> 01:20:47,479 Speaker 3: people down. He's gonna give you a 1924 01:20:49,640 --> 01:20:50,200 Speaker 3: hundred yards. 1925 01:20:50,280 --> 01:20:50,759 Speaker 2: Yeah. 1926 01:20:50,920 --> 01:20:53,000 Speaker 19: So my biggest thing is when I go into every game, 1927 01:20:53,200 --> 01:20:54,760 Speaker 19: I think, I don't If I don't leave the game 1928 01:20:54,800 --> 01:20:56,680 Speaker 19: with one hundred yards, I didn't do my job. That's 1929 01:20:56,720 --> 01:20:58,880 Speaker 19: kind of That's just always been my mindset. And I 1930 01:20:58,880 --> 01:21:00,680 Speaker 19: know it's not I mean, that's not what happened every game. 1931 01:21:00,680 --> 01:21:03,280 Speaker 19: It's that happen every weekend. But yeah, that's just the mindset. 1932 01:21:03,360 --> 01:21:05,360 Speaker 19: So definitely when I'm getting the load and I'm getting 1933 01:21:05,880 --> 01:21:08,080 Speaker 19: you know, the ball, and you know, we you know, 1934 01:21:09,240 --> 01:21:11,760 Speaker 19: you know, just consistently of course, Like that's that's the 1935 01:21:11,760 --> 01:21:13,559 Speaker 19: biggest thing. Make play, try to get an end zone 1936 01:21:13,600 --> 01:21:15,760 Speaker 19: and just you know, get to that honey yard mark 1937 01:21:15,880 --> 01:21:17,040 Speaker 19: some way form of fashion. 1938 01:21:17,080 --> 01:21:17,960 Speaker 2: We got to get to it. 1939 01:21:18,520 --> 01:21:20,160 Speaker 19: And I just think, you know, it's not really just 1940 01:21:20,200 --> 01:21:22,000 Speaker 19: solely about me getting to a hundred, just about I 1941 01:21:22,040 --> 01:21:24,439 Speaker 19: feel like if I get to a hundred and just 1942 01:21:24,520 --> 01:21:27,120 Speaker 19: with the way I play, I think the other team's 1943 01:21:27,160 --> 01:21:29,160 Speaker 19: gonna feel that and they're gonna feel that energy. And 1944 01:21:29,720 --> 01:21:31,280 Speaker 19: you know, once I get going, I just think it's 1945 01:21:31,280 --> 01:21:33,320 Speaker 19: hard for me to stop. So it's like, yeah, like 1946 01:21:33,400 --> 01:21:36,240 Speaker 19: once I get get laded up a little bit, I'm 1947 01:21:36,280 --> 01:21:36,880 Speaker 19: going for sure. 1948 01:21:36,920 --> 01:21:38,680 Speaker 3: I can envision there were a few years ago when 1949 01:21:38,720 --> 01:21:41,040 Speaker 3: we had when Kareem was a little bit younger, and 1950 01:21:41,120 --> 01:21:42,800 Speaker 3: we had Nick back. And we'll see when we when 1951 01:21:42,800 --> 01:21:45,240 Speaker 3: we do get Nick Chubb back this year. But you'd 1952 01:21:45,280 --> 01:21:46,800 Speaker 3: have games where Nick would run on people and then 1953 01:21:46,800 --> 01:21:48,880 Speaker 3: all of a sudden, second half, fourth quarter they'd bring 1954 01:21:48,920 --> 01:21:51,519 Speaker 3: in a fresh Kareem and he would just annihilate people 1955 01:21:51,520 --> 01:21:52,960 Speaker 3: like I can imagine. You know, one of the reasons 1956 01:21:52,960 --> 01:21:54,479 Speaker 3: I'm sure for a guy like you come to a 1957 01:21:54,479 --> 01:21:56,479 Speaker 3: team that's winning, because winning teams run the ball a 1958 01:21:56,520 --> 01:21:58,360 Speaker 3: lot in the fourth quarter, and you get an opportuny 1959 01:21:58,360 --> 01:21:59,080 Speaker 3: to wear somebody down. 1960 01:21:59,200 --> 01:22:03,679 Speaker 19: Yeah, you know, so just washing it from afar, watching 1961 01:22:03,720 --> 01:22:05,839 Speaker 19: those two guys go to work together, man, that was amazing. 1962 01:22:05,880 --> 01:22:06,120 Speaker 2: It was. 1963 01:22:06,320 --> 01:22:08,160 Speaker 19: It was great to see, you know, definitely from being 1964 01:22:08,160 --> 01:22:11,040 Speaker 19: a running back and just seeing how those two compliment 1965 01:22:11,080 --> 01:22:13,360 Speaker 19: each other and the way they the way they played, man, 1966 01:22:13,400 --> 01:22:15,840 Speaker 19: it was it was great to watch. So you know, 1967 01:22:16,000 --> 01:22:17,439 Speaker 19: I just want to come in and just kind of 1968 01:22:17,520 --> 01:22:20,600 Speaker 19: hold my weight through my part, you know, and just 1969 01:22:20,640 --> 01:22:21,120 Speaker 19: help us win. 1970 01:22:21,240 --> 01:22:21,400 Speaker 2: Man. 1971 01:22:21,439 --> 01:22:23,760 Speaker 19: You know, I'm not trying to be anybody or fit 1972 01:22:23,880 --> 01:22:25,760 Speaker 19: in any anything. I just want to come in and 1973 01:22:25,800 --> 01:22:27,880 Speaker 19: just beat myself through what I got to do.
