It existed around 0:09:53.200 --> 0:09:55.640 the world for since the be any of human beings 0:09:55.720 --> 0:09:59.920 something like this. It's not necessarily a black or white thing. 0:10:00.000 --> 0:10:00.840 It's a human thing. 0:10:02.720 --> 0:10:06.840 And then he goes on to say, you know, Africans 0:10:07.000 --> 0:10:14.520 sold slaves into Africans sold Africans into slavery. Right, So 0:10:15.200 --> 0:10:17.679 these are the points that he's that he made right, 0:10:18.160 --> 0:10:21.480 And to anybody wanting to distance themselves from the legacy 0:10:21.480 --> 0:10:26.840 of slavery, in other words, what does what impact did 0:10:26.880 --> 0:10:30.360 slavery have that can still be felt today? 0:10:30.880 --> 0:10:31.120 Right? 0:10:31.720 --> 0:10:35.000 And I don't care who you are. Anybody that looks a black people and says, 0:11:00.559 --> 0:11:03.720 you know, black people have less money, they're less healthy, 0:11:04.000 --> 0:11:10.839 they die younger, they're they're involved in the criminal justice 0:11:10.840 --> 0:11:16.360 system at disproportionate rates, informortality rate, infantmortality, you know, on 0:11:16.400 --> 0:11:16.640 and on. 0:11:16.679 --> 0:11:17.240 You know the list. 0:11:17.240 --> 0:11:20.800 They live in lower income communities, they pass on less wealth. 0:11:20.880 --> 0:11:24.040 You know, they're access to you know, less, less and 0:11:24.120 --> 0:11:26.240 less in the way of resources, education. 0:11:26.440 --> 0:11:28.440 On and on, you know the list. For anybody that 0:11:28.600 --> 0:11:32.640 knows that to be true and then says, well, it's 0:11:32.679 --> 0:11:37.319 just because black people are just bad people, bad at 0:11:37.360 --> 0:11:39.800 being people or whatever, it is that they say are 0:11:40.000 --> 0:11:41.080 good at being people. 0:11:41.360 --> 0:11:42.640 However, it is that they say it. 0:11:42.679 --> 0:11:46.199 Those people need what Bill Maher says to be true, 0:11:46.720 --> 0:11:49.800 because I think fundamentally, if you think about it, you 0:11:49.920 --> 0:11:54.760 know that that cannot be true. Black people are the 0:11:54.960 --> 0:11:59.120 people that created all the people, and some of these 0:11:59.160 --> 0:12:02.880 things are unique to America. So if you go to Africa, 0:12:02.960 --> 0:12:05.280 you'll find black people and you'll see that these things 0:12:05.320 --> 0:12:08.080 are not true in Africa. It's not to say that 0:12:08.120 --> 0:12:11.160 Africa does not have its own problems, but a point 0:12:11.160 --> 0:12:13.760 that does everywhere in the world. Right, But you know, 0:12:13.840 --> 0:12:18.280 Africa is known for being poor, hated. Africa becomes synonymous 0:12:18.320 --> 0:12:22.400 with poverty. Well, it might have something to do with, 0:12:23.240 --> 0:12:30.160 let's be honest, the use of gunpowder by Europeans. But let's take it a step further. The 0:13:15.120 --> 0:13:18.440 point I made is that as we know, Africa is 0:13:18.960 --> 0:13:23.240 home to the wealth of the world, all the gold, 0:13:23.480 --> 0:13:27.160 the diamonds, all the oil, the minerals, the you know, 0:13:27.600 --> 0:13:34.560 the land it's fertile, you know, cradle of civilization, the 0:13:34.600 --> 0:13:41.400 most ancient of civilizations, the most advanced of ancient civilizations. 0:13:43.160 --> 0:13:46.240 How is it that at place that was home to 0:13:46.600 --> 0:13:50.319 Mansa Musa, to all the pharaohs. My my name, the 0:13:50.960 --> 0:13:57.800 person I'm named after, uh Ramses, one of the wealthiest 0:13:57.840 --> 0:14:01.200 people to ever have lived. It largely benefits, 0:15:41.280 --> 0:15:48.080 you know, white European countries obviously disproportionately benefits Africans who 0:15:48.200 --> 0:15:53.000 live where the resources are. And that's what we call 0:15:53.040 --> 0:15:59.360 white supremacist institutions. Right, So, now that you've had that 0:15:59.480 --> 0:16:01.640 history less and allow me to finish with Bill Maher. 0:16:06.560 --> 0:16:12.320 He talks about people who could afford slaves, affording slaves, 0:16:13.040 --> 0:16:20.160 including black people, as a way of again distancing himself 0:16:20.280 --> 0:16:24.280 or this narrative allows the right, or really the country, 0:16:24.680 --> 0:16:27.440 if I'm honest with the left, to let's be fair 0:16:28.040 --> 0:16:32.160 to distance themselves from the problems that black people still 0:16:32.240 --> 0:16:36.080 endure to this day. Again, the legacy of slavery.
