1 00:00:00,440 --> 00:00:06,680 Speaker 1: They Around the NFL podcast, living in. 2 00:00:08,080 --> 00:00:11,880 Speaker 2: From the Chris Westling podcast studio. It's Around the NFL 3 00:00:12,320 --> 00:00:15,480 Speaker 2: the Week thirteen flagship program. 4 00:00:15,600 --> 00:00:15,920 Speaker 1: Wow. 5 00:00:16,079 --> 00:00:20,119 Speaker 2: Dan Hans is here with Greg Rosenthal and Mark Sessler's 6 00:00:20,800 --> 00:00:26,279 Speaker 2: heroes both and this is an interesting Week thirteen. We 7 00:00:26,360 --> 00:00:31,440 Speaker 2: had six teams on Buy and Boys. I there are 8 00:00:31,600 --> 00:00:33,920 Speaker 2: many times where I miss living on the East Coast. 9 00:00:34,400 --> 00:00:36,280 Speaker 2: It's days like today where I sit down and I 10 00:00:36,320 --> 00:00:39,640 Speaker 2: turn on the ten am starts and up and down 11 00:00:39,680 --> 00:00:43,560 Speaker 2: the Eastern seaboard, just miserable weather messing with everyone's lives, 12 00:00:43,600 --> 00:00:46,680 Speaker 2: like destroying any semblance of having a fun day at 13 00:00:46,720 --> 00:00:49,800 Speaker 2: the stadiums. And I think, okay, it's pretty nice out here, yo, 14 00:00:50,040 --> 00:00:50,760 Speaker 2: one hundred percent. 15 00:00:50,760 --> 00:00:53,080 Speaker 3: And I mean, you know, we got some weird weather 16 00:00:53,240 --> 00:00:55,880 Speaker 3: suspended play which happens. It seemed to happen like once 17 00:00:55,920 --> 00:00:57,960 Speaker 3: a year whenever's covering that game. Yeah, and I believe 18 00:00:58,000 --> 00:01:00,760 Speaker 3: it was you, Greg, that you're suddenly watching games an 19 00:01:00,840 --> 00:01:02,560 Speaker 3: hour and a half later than all the other early 20 00:01:02,600 --> 00:01:03,280 Speaker 3: slot games. 21 00:01:03,400 --> 00:01:06,080 Speaker 4: And I mean the Cardinals Steelers deserve to be a 22 00:01:06,120 --> 00:01:07,240 Speaker 4: four and a half hour game. 23 00:01:07,280 --> 00:01:07,440 Speaker 5: Ah. 24 00:01:07,440 --> 00:01:09,520 Speaker 4: But yes, I'm always happy we're here on the West coast, 25 00:01:09,520 --> 00:01:11,760 Speaker 4: so we're not driving home either at their Sunday night 26 00:01:11,800 --> 00:01:13,160 Speaker 4: football at twelve thirty at night. 27 00:01:13,560 --> 00:01:14,320 Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true. 28 00:01:14,319 --> 00:01:18,360 Speaker 2: So you had, yeah, multiple games in raining or downpour conditions. 29 00:01:18,360 --> 00:01:21,000 Speaker 2: You had all the soggy fields, slippery fields, all those 30 00:01:21,040 --> 00:01:23,800 Speaker 2: black pellets everywhere, like on the cleats and on their 31 00:01:23,840 --> 00:01:25,640 Speaker 2: faces and their face mess ah. 32 00:01:26,240 --> 00:01:30,040 Speaker 1: But and then you had all these backup quarterbacks, oh oh, 33 00:01:30,120 --> 00:01:32,240 Speaker 1: and all these guys that can't play. So you got 34 00:01:32,280 --> 00:01:33,880 Speaker 1: some things going on around the league. 35 00:01:33,959 --> 00:01:36,000 Speaker 2: But the one thing we did have, one thing that 36 00:01:36,240 --> 00:01:38,120 Speaker 2: we knew we had in our back pocket in this 37 00:01:38,160 --> 00:01:40,880 Speaker 2: week thirteen were the Eagles and Niners. 38 00:01:41,240 --> 00:01:43,039 Speaker 1: And here's the good thing, and we're gonna get to 39 00:01:43,040 --> 00:01:43,319 Speaker 1: the game. 40 00:01:43,360 --> 00:01:45,680 Speaker 2: And maybe it wasn't the barn burner we were expecting, 41 00:01:45,920 --> 00:01:47,680 Speaker 2: but we learned a lot about both teams. 42 00:01:47,800 --> 00:01:50,800 Speaker 1: And also Greggy. These guys hate each other and to 43 00:01:50,960 --> 00:01:53,760 Speaker 1: just get the feeling. It was round one to set 44 00:01:53,800 --> 00:01:54,800 Speaker 1: it up for a better one. 45 00:01:54,880 --> 00:01:59,440 Speaker 6: Next to Philadelphia, we go first and ten Niners in 46 00:01:59,440 --> 00:02:02,600 Speaker 6: the Philly four eight party looks lap now middle throws 47 00:02:02,680 --> 00:02:06,680 Speaker 6: caught Brooke and tackled by Deebo Samuel dows not thirty. 48 00:02:06,640 --> 00:02:14,720 Speaker 7: Twenty j turn five touchdown. He is going sack Francisco. 49 00:02:15,360 --> 00:02:22,080 Speaker 7: What an absolute peast debo Samuel oh Man, Greg Papa 50 00:02:22,080 --> 00:02:24,040 Speaker 7: and Tim Ryan with the call K and B. 51 00:02:24,400 --> 00:02:27,440 Speaker 2: Are you know there's so many stars on the Niners 52 00:02:27,560 --> 00:02:31,360 Speaker 2: and superstars of the Niners. I have long thought debos 53 00:02:31,400 --> 00:02:33,400 Speaker 2: Samuel is one of those people that he's in my 54 00:02:33,440 --> 00:02:34,280 Speaker 2: superstar club. 55 00:02:34,680 --> 00:02:35,680 Speaker 5: And if you look at. 56 00:02:35,520 --> 00:02:38,360 Speaker 2: The Niners bump in the road this season, it neatly 57 00:02:38,400 --> 00:02:40,720 Speaker 2: coincides with Deebo Samuel out of the lineup. He is 58 00:02:40,840 --> 00:02:44,760 Speaker 2: such a devastating jack of all trades and we saw 59 00:02:44,800 --> 00:02:49,320 Speaker 2: it again in Philadelphia where Samuel scored three touchdowns. Who 60 00:02:49,600 --> 00:02:54,080 Speaker 2: the star of a dominant offensive performance for Kyle Shanahan's 61 00:02:54,080 --> 00:02:57,200 Speaker 2: offense and a forty two nineteen win over the Eagles. 62 00:02:57,200 --> 00:02:59,160 Speaker 2: That's just the second loss of the season for Philly 63 00:02:59,160 --> 00:03:03,160 Speaker 2: and that tightens up the top of the NFC picture considerably. 64 00:03:03,240 --> 00:03:06,200 Speaker 5: Greg, the game started. 65 00:03:06,280 --> 00:03:10,040 Speaker 2: In one place, yep, and then once San Francisco kind 66 00:03:10,040 --> 00:03:10,920 Speaker 2: of got things. 67 00:03:10,639 --> 00:03:12,760 Speaker 1: Calmed down, the whole game change. 68 00:03:12,960 --> 00:03:13,160 Speaker 8: Yeah. 69 00:03:13,200 --> 00:03:18,519 Speaker 4: The first quarter was completely dominated by Philadelphia. They had 70 00:03:18,560 --> 00:03:21,880 Speaker 4: seven first downs to only six plays for the forty 71 00:03:21,919 --> 00:03:24,560 Speaker 4: nine to one hundred and twenty four yards to negative six. 72 00:03:24,639 --> 00:03:27,080 Speaker 4: And then after that the forty nine Ers put together 73 00:03:27,200 --> 00:03:30,320 Speaker 4: what was really one of the best offensive performances of 74 00:03:30,320 --> 00:03:32,799 Speaker 4: the season by any team and zooming out. I think 75 00:03:32,840 --> 00:03:36,119 Speaker 4: it really brings into focus this matchup forty nine Ers 76 00:03:36,160 --> 00:03:39,960 Speaker 4: offense versus Eagles defense specifically, because that's where I'm concerned 77 00:03:39,960 --> 00:03:43,000 Speaker 4: about this Eagles team. Their linebackers have been poor all year, 78 00:03:43,040 --> 00:03:46,280 Speaker 4: the safeties up and down, and Shanahan just put a 79 00:03:46,320 --> 00:03:49,720 Speaker 4: big circle on those linebackers and he kept putting them 80 00:03:50,000 --> 00:03:52,640 Speaker 4: in conflict, and their tackling was poor. And it was 81 00:03:52,720 --> 00:03:55,880 Speaker 4: Kittle and it was Samuel, and it was Ayuk, and 82 00:03:55,920 --> 00:03:59,200 Speaker 4: it was Purty on some early third downs being very 83 00:03:59,240 --> 00:04:05,000 Speaker 4: calm and making good throws in this Eagles defense, seventheeth 84 00:04:05,040 --> 00:04:08,080 Speaker 4: and dvaa coming into today. To me, it is a 85 00:04:08,160 --> 00:04:11,560 Speaker 4: season long issue. And once again they get out gained 86 00:04:11,720 --> 00:04:14,480 Speaker 4: by ninety five plus yards. That's five straight games that 87 00:04:14,560 --> 00:04:15,160 Speaker 4: that's happened. 88 00:04:15,400 --> 00:04:18,039 Speaker 3: That is wild, And it's like this is a matchup 89 00:04:18,120 --> 00:04:20,360 Speaker 3: situation too, because I'm with you, we're gonna see these 90 00:04:20,360 --> 00:04:25,320 Speaker 3: guys playing again and for the Niners to start well, we're. 91 00:04:25,200 --> 00:04:27,720 Speaker 1: Gonna be repeated a confluence of these teams. 92 00:04:27,720 --> 00:04:29,839 Speaker 2: Though, as football fans, I want to feel like we 93 00:04:29,880 --> 00:04:32,479 Speaker 2: got cheated. If these teams somehow don't meet again and 94 00:04:32,520 --> 00:04:34,880 Speaker 2: hopefully the NFC title game or at the very least 95 00:04:34,880 --> 00:04:37,080 Speaker 2: the divisional players, we gotta get these guys back. 96 00:04:36,960 --> 00:04:38,600 Speaker 9: In the same Yeah, you throw Dallas in there too. 97 00:04:38,640 --> 00:04:41,279 Speaker 3: I mean, I just think to start the way they started, 98 00:04:41,960 --> 00:04:44,960 Speaker 3: and you you're wondering, did the Eagles just have this 99 00:04:45,000 --> 00:04:48,760 Speaker 3: team's number? And to turn around with these long Shanahan 100 00:04:48,920 --> 00:04:53,400 Speaker 3: esque touchdown drives, six touchdowns in a row, clock chewing, 101 00:04:53,880 --> 00:04:58,800 Speaker 3: high yardage, multiplay situations where it's like every game someone 102 00:04:58,800 --> 00:05:02,080 Speaker 3: else steps up and plays the star for San Francisco 103 00:05:02,240 --> 00:05:04,720 Speaker 3: and this version of Deebo Samuel. When you have Trent 104 00:05:04,760 --> 00:05:07,279 Speaker 3: win Was back in the lineup, it just makes it 105 00:05:07,279 --> 00:05:09,080 Speaker 3: impossible to figure out how to defend them. 106 00:05:09,279 --> 00:05:09,440 Speaker 10: Right. 107 00:05:09,480 --> 00:05:12,160 Speaker 4: You mentioned it coincided with Debo being out, and that's 108 00:05:12,279 --> 00:05:17,040 Speaker 4: totally fair. But Trent Williams is the guy I feel like, Yeah, 109 00:05:17,080 --> 00:05:20,080 Speaker 4: he's a to me, a first ballot type of Hall 110 00:05:20,120 --> 00:05:22,680 Speaker 4: of Fame type guy who's still playing at a high level. 111 00:05:22,680 --> 00:05:24,560 Speaker 4: And when they got going early and they were down 112 00:05:24,600 --> 00:05:26,880 Speaker 4: six to nothing and Philadelphia went zero for two in 113 00:05:26,880 --> 00:05:29,520 Speaker 4: the red zone, settling for field goes, they did it 114 00:05:29,560 --> 00:05:33,839 Speaker 4: by going left it was running left behind Trent Williams, 115 00:05:34,160 --> 00:05:37,080 Speaker 4: and I also think about a play to start the 116 00:05:37,120 --> 00:05:39,919 Speaker 4: second half. They did so well going into halftime, a 117 00:05:40,000 --> 00:05:42,720 Speaker 4: four minute drive that killed the clock, didn't give Philadelphia 118 00:05:42,720 --> 00:05:44,680 Speaker 4: a chance to score coming back, and then a four 119 00:05:44,720 --> 00:05:47,120 Speaker 4: minute drive out of halftime, and there was just no 120 00:05:47,240 --> 00:05:49,720 Speaker 4: pressure on Perdy for the most part on those throws. 121 00:05:49,880 --> 00:05:52,440 Speaker 4: And I think of a third and seven to start 122 00:05:52,480 --> 00:05:55,120 Speaker 4: that drive coming out of halftime, which is an out 123 00:05:55,200 --> 00:05:58,440 Speaker 4: route to Ayuk to the opposite hash And you don't 124 00:05:58,440 --> 00:06:01,400 Speaker 4: think a party in terms of his arm strength or anything, 125 00:06:01,400 --> 00:06:03,760 Speaker 4: but that was a real deal pro throw. He had 126 00:06:04,040 --> 00:06:05,880 Speaker 4: a nice run in the red zone where he bounced 127 00:06:05,920 --> 00:06:07,480 Speaker 4: off the tackler. It was a great day out of 128 00:06:07,560 --> 00:06:10,159 Speaker 4: him too, Like it's pretty rare that, you know quarterback 129 00:06:10,200 --> 00:06:12,440 Speaker 4: hats three hundred and fourteen yards and twenty seven attempts, 130 00:06:12,480 --> 00:06:14,560 Speaker 4: four touchdowns, and he does feel like the third or 131 00:06:14,640 --> 00:06:16,880 Speaker 4: fourth person that you talk about on this team. But 132 00:06:17,240 --> 00:06:20,080 Speaker 4: it was really just personally met life for party, right, 133 00:06:20,120 --> 00:06:22,800 Speaker 4: it's perfect for everyone. Schio Capatia put that this was 134 00:06:22,800 --> 00:06:25,800 Speaker 4: the second best EPA per drive performance by any team 135 00:06:25,800 --> 00:06:27,960 Speaker 4: all year, which makes sense. They went six straight touchdowns 136 00:06:28,040 --> 00:06:29,640 Speaker 4: and then finished the game after that. 137 00:06:29,880 --> 00:06:31,360 Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta give us a little bit of 138 00:06:31,440 --> 00:06:34,160 Speaker 2: credit because I think as a group, we were kind 139 00:06:34,200 --> 00:06:37,560 Speaker 2: of on this as a possibility with the Eagles living 140 00:06:37,640 --> 00:06:40,760 Speaker 2: dangerously these last few weeks and the Niners looking for 141 00:06:40,800 --> 00:06:43,240 Speaker 2: that revenge, playing at a high level, being in a 142 00:06:43,240 --> 00:06:45,800 Speaker 2: place where they kind of needed the win, and there 143 00:06:46,000 --> 00:06:48,200 Speaker 2: seemed like an opportunity for this Mark. I think you 144 00:06:48,240 --> 00:06:50,800 Speaker 2: locked it up. I did good job there. I almost 145 00:06:50,880 --> 00:06:53,240 Speaker 2: came with you. Yeah, And I would have been safe 146 00:06:53,240 --> 00:06:55,839 Speaker 2: in that spot too, And you know, so you just 147 00:06:55,880 --> 00:06:57,960 Speaker 2: gotta you gotta give the Niners a ton of credit. 148 00:06:58,080 --> 00:07:00,240 Speaker 2: And they're, like I said, a lot of bad blood 149 00:07:00,320 --> 00:07:01,840 Speaker 2: here between these two teams. 150 00:07:01,880 --> 00:07:03,880 Speaker 5: Will get into what happened with the director of. 151 00:07:03,880 --> 00:07:06,880 Speaker 2: Security in a little bit, but for them to put 152 00:07:06,920 --> 00:07:09,000 Speaker 2: him on them that way with the six straight scores, 153 00:07:09,040 --> 00:07:11,280 Speaker 2: and I think, you can't win a game in the 154 00:07:11,280 --> 00:07:13,360 Speaker 2: first quarter, but you can lose one. You could let 155 00:07:13,360 --> 00:07:15,320 Speaker 2: a game really sneak away. And you look at the 156 00:07:15,320 --> 00:07:19,239 Speaker 2: way the game started. Greg mentioned that Eagles went red zone, 157 00:07:19,280 --> 00:07:24,240 Speaker 2: red zone, field goal, field goal early. They also the 158 00:07:24,360 --> 00:07:27,560 Speaker 2: Niners first possession minus two yards, their second possession minus 159 00:07:27,560 --> 00:07:30,360 Speaker 2: four yards, and they're facing a third and three in 160 00:07:30,400 --> 00:07:34,120 Speaker 2: their third possession, and Perty connects with Kittle to move 161 00:07:34,160 --> 00:07:35,920 Speaker 2: the change. They're facing a third and one. A few 162 00:07:36,040 --> 00:07:37,720 Speaker 2: plays later, it's Purty again. 163 00:07:37,560 --> 00:07:40,040 Speaker 1: And that's where he was so common. Yeah, just kind 164 00:07:40,080 --> 00:07:41,960 Speaker 1: of waiting for Diba to get open on a third 165 00:07:41,960 --> 00:07:42,680 Speaker 1: and one is very. 166 00:07:42,600 --> 00:07:45,400 Speaker 2: He hit Samuel for thirteen yards and once they kind 167 00:07:45,400 --> 00:07:47,520 Speaker 2: of got the crowd a little bit taken out of 168 00:07:47,560 --> 00:07:51,040 Speaker 2: it and they got calmed down, they just started rolling. 169 00:07:51,080 --> 00:07:53,400 Speaker 2: I mean, that's the sign of a championship team, and 170 00:07:53,440 --> 00:07:55,080 Speaker 2: we're not going to go back, and Eagles fans don't 171 00:07:55,080 --> 00:07:57,240 Speaker 2: want to hear it, and the Niners fans wouldn't help 172 00:07:57,240 --> 00:07:57,720 Speaker 2: them anyway. 173 00:07:58,040 --> 00:07:59,920 Speaker 1: I kind of think the Niners were the team led 174 00:08:00,200 --> 00:08:00,720 Speaker 1: in the NFC. 175 00:08:00,720 --> 00:08:03,040 Speaker 2: In the way played out an NFC title game was 176 00:08:03,040 --> 00:08:05,720 Speaker 2: heartbreaking for them and their fan base. This was a 177 00:08:06,000 --> 00:08:08,200 Speaker 2: This was an announcement to the Eagles, like, this is 178 00:08:08,280 --> 00:08:09,760 Speaker 2: us at full strength, and. 179 00:08:09,680 --> 00:08:11,560 Speaker 1: You don't want to see us in January. 180 00:08:11,760 --> 00:08:13,600 Speaker 4: Let's see what happens, right, because the forty nine Ers 181 00:08:13,640 --> 00:08:16,560 Speaker 4: defense got more pressure on Hurts than vice versa. Now, 182 00:08:16,600 --> 00:08:19,480 Speaker 4: sometimes I feel like Hurts left the pocket when it 183 00:08:19,560 --> 00:08:22,760 Speaker 4: was clean and just held it forever and wanted to 184 00:08:22,840 --> 00:08:24,720 Speaker 4: make a play and it was back to a little 185 00:08:24,720 --> 00:08:26,400 Speaker 4: bit about what we saw from Hurts. I don't think 186 00:08:26,400 --> 00:08:28,960 Speaker 4: their offense was bad today. They finished with nineteen points, 187 00:08:29,040 --> 00:08:31,240 Speaker 4: was just disappointing, but they moved the ball. They didn't 188 00:08:31,240 --> 00:08:33,640 Speaker 4: have a ton of possessions either. He almost had three 189 00:08:33,679 --> 00:08:36,200 Speaker 4: hundred yards, but no running game at all. And then 190 00:08:36,280 --> 00:08:39,440 Speaker 4: Hurts just not feeling like comfortable going to his first read. 191 00:08:39,520 --> 00:08:41,560 Speaker 4: Not a lot in rhythm for them, And so give 192 00:08:42,600 --> 00:08:45,760 Speaker 4: Charvarius Warden in some of the other defensive backs credit 193 00:08:45,800 --> 00:08:45,920 Speaker 4: for that. 194 00:08:46,000 --> 00:08:49,360 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's like it's so easy to, you know, 195 00:08:49,440 --> 00:08:53,000 Speaker 3: magnify the Niners offense and talk about how versatile they 196 00:08:53,040 --> 00:08:55,240 Speaker 3: are in all their stars, but it's like their defensive 197 00:08:55,280 --> 00:08:58,320 Speaker 3: front is growing more powerful, and like they gave up 198 00:08:58,320 --> 00:09:00,560 Speaker 3: two point six yards per Kerry to we an Eagles 199 00:09:00,559 --> 00:09:02,280 Speaker 3: team that you know has been hot and cold on 200 00:09:02,360 --> 00:09:04,839 Speaker 3: offense in some ways, but they were able to lean 201 00:09:04,880 --> 00:09:07,280 Speaker 3: on their ground game heavily early in the year, and today. 202 00:09:07,040 --> 00:09:07,760 Speaker 1: They couldn't at all. 203 00:09:07,880 --> 00:09:10,120 Speaker 3: And I think to go do this in Philadelphia, which 204 00:09:10,160 --> 00:09:12,880 Speaker 3: is one of the nastier places to play and come 205 00:09:12,880 --> 00:09:14,760 Speaker 3: out from the West Coast, it's like this is a 206 00:09:14,760 --> 00:09:17,599 Speaker 3: statement operation by the Niners, and stop telling me that 207 00:09:17,640 --> 00:09:20,680 Speaker 3: Brock Party is so far down in this MVP race. 208 00:09:20,720 --> 00:09:22,360 Speaker 3: It annoys me. It annoys me because I don't know 209 00:09:22,360 --> 00:09:24,360 Speaker 3: what else he needs to do. I don't know what 210 00:09:24,360 --> 00:09:24,800 Speaker 3: else he needs. 211 00:09:24,840 --> 00:09:28,679 Speaker 2: Here's the thing, here's the thing that's and I'm with you, fundamentally, 212 00:09:28,720 --> 00:09:32,920 Speaker 2: I'm with you like it needs to he needs more credit. Also, 213 00:09:33,280 --> 00:09:37,040 Speaker 2: like I think Christian McCaffrey deserves real MVP, a real look. 214 00:09:37,040 --> 00:09:38,560 Speaker 1: And this is one hundred and thirty three yards in 215 00:09:38,559 --> 00:09:39,800 Speaker 1: this game. We haven't even mentioned him. 216 00:09:39,880 --> 00:09:41,520 Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like for him, that's a quiet but 217 00:09:41,600 --> 00:09:43,559 Speaker 2: he was. Every time they kind of needed a play, 218 00:09:43,800 --> 00:09:45,560 Speaker 2: he made a play. He had a couple of runs 219 00:09:45,559 --> 00:09:47,439 Speaker 2: where he just showed the best footwork of any running 220 00:09:47,440 --> 00:09:50,000 Speaker 2: back in the league. Just a brilliant, brilliant offense. And 221 00:09:50,040 --> 00:09:52,120 Speaker 2: you could tell when they had a nice sideline shot 222 00:09:52,160 --> 00:09:55,080 Speaker 2: of Shanahan Party, I thought I kind of bailed him 223 00:09:55,080 --> 00:09:56,880 Speaker 2: out a little bit on the play, the short touchdown 224 00:09:56,920 --> 00:10:02,200 Speaker 2: pass to get them going, and you saw you saw 225 00:10:02,240 --> 00:10:04,520 Speaker 2: Shannan like pump his fist on the sideline and like 226 00:10:04,559 --> 00:10:06,960 Speaker 2: they were off and running, and it was just another 227 00:10:07,040 --> 00:10:10,560 Speaker 2: show of Shanahan's might. So you know what, let's do 228 00:10:10,600 --> 00:10:13,400 Speaker 2: the do this game on the NFL Plus on Monday. 229 00:10:13,520 --> 00:10:14,360 Speaker 5: Yeah, game of the Week. 230 00:10:14,559 --> 00:10:17,120 Speaker 3: We've we've tilted towards you know, the closest game of 231 00:10:17,160 --> 00:10:19,559 Speaker 3: the week sometimes had This has a meaning in a 232 00:10:19,640 --> 00:10:20,400 Speaker 3: very different way. 233 00:10:20,559 --> 00:10:22,720 Speaker 1: Now what we do game of the week if Big 234 00:10:22,760 --> 00:10:23,840 Speaker 1: Dom was not involved. 235 00:10:24,520 --> 00:10:28,600 Speaker 2: Listen, big Dom is someone who I think we need 236 00:10:28,640 --> 00:10:31,800 Speaker 2: to have long conversations about. It was made clear to 237 00:10:31,840 --> 00:10:34,440 Speaker 2: me from John Kelly that Big Dom, the director of 238 00:10:34,559 --> 00:10:37,880 Speaker 2: security for the Eagles, is a folk hero in Philadelphia, 239 00:10:37,960 --> 00:10:42,120 Speaker 2: and apparently his skirmish with who's at Drake Greenlaw that 240 00:10:42,240 --> 00:10:44,680 Speaker 2: led to green Law suspension and the head of security 241 00:10:44,679 --> 00:10:48,440 Speaker 2: for the Eagles being escorted from the side to off 242 00:10:48,480 --> 00:10:52,040 Speaker 2: the sideline, Which is funny that I was a little 243 00:10:52,040 --> 00:10:54,720 Speaker 2: bit worried, I gotta be honest with you, hmmm, that 244 00:10:54,720 --> 00:10:57,520 Speaker 2: that was gonna spark some type of magical moment and 245 00:10:57,520 --> 00:10:59,199 Speaker 2: then we were gonna have to deal with Bradley Cooper 246 00:10:59,280 --> 00:11:02,600 Speaker 2: jumping up and down and lead chance and all that stuff. 247 00:11:02,800 --> 00:11:03,920 Speaker 5: But it didn't happen that way. 248 00:11:03,960 --> 00:11:04,319 Speaker 1: It didn't. 249 00:11:04,320 --> 00:11:07,080 Speaker 3: And this was you know, like it's not the ira 250 00:11:07,280 --> 00:11:10,120 Speaker 3: ironic nickname where they call a large very large person 251 00:11:10,160 --> 00:11:13,920 Speaker 3: tiny like back in the thirties. Yeah, yeah, he literally 252 00:11:13,960 --> 00:11:15,600 Speaker 3: is just a giant guy and that's they call him 253 00:11:15,679 --> 00:11:16,600 Speaker 3: Big Dom and they should. 254 00:11:17,200 --> 00:11:20,440 Speaker 1: I'm not now he's been going to become He would 255 00:11:20,440 --> 00:11:21,679 Speaker 1: have become an even bigger folk here. 256 00:11:21,720 --> 00:11:23,600 Speaker 4: People love him. Andy Reid loved him too. He called 257 00:11:23,640 --> 00:11:26,960 Speaker 4: him my big Italian son back in the day. Like, uh, 258 00:11:27,400 --> 00:11:29,360 Speaker 4: I think that was on Chris Laws podcasts. Hey, I 259 00:11:29,400 --> 00:11:32,840 Speaker 4: saw him tweet that out and people loved him. But 260 00:11:33,960 --> 00:11:37,520 Speaker 4: Big Dom ultimately like kind of skated in terms of 261 00:11:37,559 --> 00:11:40,559 Speaker 4: the broadcast, like, like, let's calm down, Big Dom. I 262 00:11:40,600 --> 00:11:43,880 Speaker 4: get why Kyle Shanahan was pretty fired up afterwards. He 263 00:11:44,360 --> 00:11:47,719 Speaker 4: was slander He does not need he does not need 264 00:11:47,760 --> 00:11:52,480 Speaker 4: to be involved, and Nick Sirianni actually agreed and said, 265 00:11:52,520 --> 00:11:55,800 Speaker 4: like Dom should not have been involved there either didn't 266 00:11:55,800 --> 00:11:58,079 Speaker 4: approve of his actions and kind of baited like he 267 00:11:58,120 --> 00:12:00,720 Speaker 4: did a good job baiting Drake Ivelaw into he ejected, 268 00:12:00,760 --> 00:12:03,320 Speaker 4: but I'm not sure he needed to be ejected when 269 00:12:03,360 --> 00:12:05,680 Speaker 4: some big guy on the sideline is pointing a figure 270 00:12:05,720 --> 00:12:07,200 Speaker 4: in his face, like get out of there. 271 00:12:07,679 --> 00:12:09,640 Speaker 1: You know the Eagles have problems after this game. 272 00:12:09,679 --> 00:12:12,000 Speaker 2: I feel like Big Dom's long the list and there 273 00:12:12,000 --> 00:12:13,760 Speaker 2: it is, you're watch it on YouTube. They got to 274 00:12:13,760 --> 00:12:15,720 Speaker 2: figure out how to stop a team, an elite team 275 00:12:15,720 --> 00:12:17,520 Speaker 2: because they have not been and guess what they get that? 276 00:12:17,559 --> 00:12:21,000 Speaker 2: I think the Cowboys next week and all of a sudden, everything's. 277 00:12:20,600 --> 00:12:26,679 Speaker 1: Up for grabs. Number one seed, spicy, It is delicious. 278 00:12:26,960 --> 00:12:30,320 Speaker 2: All right, let's see, let's move on. Let's go to 279 00:12:30,360 --> 00:12:33,439 Speaker 2: another game. Uh, that looked like it was going to 280 00:12:33,480 --> 00:12:37,679 Speaker 2: be a blowout. That got tight to the Superdome. Two 281 00:12:37,720 --> 00:12:40,559 Speaker 2: tight end set for the Lions. Golf takes fakes, the 282 00:12:40,600 --> 00:12:42,720 Speaker 2: give goes end around. Now they flip it on the 283 00:12:42,720 --> 00:12:45,080 Speaker 2: second back coming around. That is jameson Williams. 284 00:12:45,120 --> 00:12:48,240 Speaker 11: It's the before it's side the ten Dogs into the 285 00:12:48,320 --> 00:12:50,800 Speaker 11: end zone, touchdown Detroit Lions. 286 00:12:51,880 --> 00:12:53,800 Speaker 8: A little razzle dazzled. 287 00:12:53,360 --> 00:12:56,440 Speaker 1: A number nan dive into the enisode. 288 00:12:56,480 --> 00:12:58,240 Speaker 8: The Lions extended their lead. 289 00:12:59,040 --> 00:13:01,240 Speaker 2: You know these are the great that's Dan Miller of course, 290 00:13:02,120 --> 00:13:07,600 Speaker 2: and Lomas Brown of WXYT. These are all amazing athletes 291 00:13:07,640 --> 00:13:11,000 Speaker 2: that we watch every Sunday. But sometimes you see you 292 00:13:11,080 --> 00:13:13,120 Speaker 2: see a play and you see a player and you're like, oh, 293 00:13:13,120 --> 00:13:14,600 Speaker 2: he looks different than the other guys. 294 00:13:15,400 --> 00:13:18,719 Speaker 1: Jameis and Williams, we see you Bud. He's through the 295 00:13:18,760 --> 00:13:19,559 Speaker 1: air there. 296 00:13:19,679 --> 00:13:22,360 Speaker 2: Barely, but not even just the sword, just the speed 297 00:13:22,400 --> 00:13:23,760 Speaker 2: in which he cut through those twenties. 298 00:13:23,800 --> 00:13:26,319 Speaker 1: Tell me he did not run thirty three miles per hour. 299 00:13:26,200 --> 00:13:30,240 Speaker 2: On I swear to God if he was not, and Eric, 300 00:13:30,240 --> 00:13:32,080 Speaker 2: if there's a way to track this down, if there was, 301 00:13:32,160 --> 00:13:34,200 Speaker 2: if he is not above twenty one miles per hour, 302 00:13:34,320 --> 00:13:36,280 Speaker 2: I'm gonna be sick to my stomach for the entire 303 00:13:37,080 --> 00:13:40,560 Speaker 2: next gen industry. Rightfully, so, the Lions got that well 304 00:13:40,600 --> 00:13:43,640 Speaker 2: time TD from their first round mystery Man and another 305 00:13:43,720 --> 00:13:47,040 Speaker 2: huge performance from breakdout, breakout tight end Sam Laporta in 306 00:13:47,120 --> 00:13:51,440 Speaker 2: a thirty three to twenty eight win over the Saints. 307 00:13:51,480 --> 00:13:54,360 Speaker 2: Mark Detroit jumped ahead early, nearly let it slip away, 308 00:13:54,360 --> 00:13:56,640 Speaker 2: but the ability to make big plays when it mattered, 309 00:13:56,720 --> 00:13:57,920 Speaker 2: that was the difference. 310 00:13:57,600 --> 00:14:00,640 Speaker 3: They did They obviously, I think De Troit and we've 311 00:14:00,679 --> 00:14:04,320 Speaker 3: identified that there are certain weaknesses that they carry into 312 00:14:04,360 --> 00:14:07,560 Speaker 3: their postseason journey. But at the same time, it's exciting 313 00:14:07,600 --> 00:14:09,760 Speaker 3: to see what you got from Jameis and Williams and 314 00:14:09,800 --> 00:14:14,200 Speaker 3: Sam Laporta is emerging as like a rock solid star 315 00:14:14,360 --> 00:14:16,640 Speaker 3: tight end who is a heap becoming a bigger and 316 00:14:16,640 --> 00:14:19,720 Speaker 3: bigger part of their offense. They jumped out to a 317 00:14:19,760 --> 00:14:21,920 Speaker 3: twenty one to nothing lead in the first seven minutes. 318 00:14:22,520 --> 00:14:25,720 Speaker 3: Derek Carr through a terrible interception on the first offensive 319 00:14:25,720 --> 00:14:27,520 Speaker 3: play of the game. Detroit popped it in a couple 320 00:14:27,520 --> 00:14:30,160 Speaker 3: of plays later. He had a rough fumble in the 321 00:14:30,200 --> 00:14:32,600 Speaker 3: fourth quarter, and that was when they were climbing back 322 00:14:32,640 --> 00:14:35,640 Speaker 3: into this game. Derek Carr got whacked at one point, 323 00:14:36,360 --> 00:14:38,960 Speaker 3: looked really banged up. Left with a shoulder injury, a 324 00:14:39,000 --> 00:14:42,000 Speaker 3: back injury. I got thrown into the concussion portal and 325 00:14:42,200 --> 00:14:43,600 Speaker 3: you know, at one point he's getting bid. 326 00:14:43,640 --> 00:14:44,560 Speaker 5: I hope everyone's happy. 327 00:14:44,640 --> 00:14:47,080 Speaker 9: Well, no, you know what you know, life once and 328 00:14:47,120 --> 00:14:48,560 Speaker 9: for all, I know portal. 329 00:14:49,080 --> 00:14:52,640 Speaker 3: Well, it does sound dark, but like you, you like 330 00:14:53,160 --> 00:14:54,960 Speaker 3: have been defending him, and I had to say that 331 00:14:55,000 --> 00:14:58,040 Speaker 3: at one point, like with the Superdome, which was massively 332 00:14:58,040 --> 00:15:00,680 Speaker 3: filled with Lions fans, So it's like that's that's telling 333 00:15:00,720 --> 00:15:02,160 Speaker 3: me that a lot of Saints fans are about as 334 00:15:02,160 --> 00:15:05,680 Speaker 3: frustrated as possible and selling your tickets. But he's getting 335 00:15:05,720 --> 00:15:08,960 Speaker 3: booed relentlessly because it was a rough Like the way 336 00:15:09,000 --> 00:15:10,560 Speaker 3: this whole thing started, it was not a good look 337 00:15:10,560 --> 00:15:11,120 Speaker 3: for Derek Carr. 338 00:15:11,160 --> 00:15:14,120 Speaker 4: Like Quin Taysom Hills on the field. They then boo 339 00:15:14,480 --> 00:15:15,360 Speaker 4: when Car comes back. 340 00:15:15,480 --> 00:15:18,320 Speaker 3: Yeah, like Car, it was, and you just saw a 341 00:15:18,400 --> 00:15:20,640 Speaker 3: look on his face on the sideline. But at one 342 00:15:20,640 --> 00:15:23,000 Speaker 3: point he's getting lustily booed by this crowd and he'd 343 00:15:23,080 --> 00:15:24,640 Speaker 3: hit fifteen straight passes and. 344 00:15:24,680 --> 00:15:27,080 Speaker 1: Then his interception was just a drop. It was not 345 00:15:27,160 --> 00:15:28,040 Speaker 1: on him to be fair. 346 00:15:28,280 --> 00:15:29,880 Speaker 3: Yeah, I just think I think the problem with I 347 00:15:29,960 --> 00:15:32,040 Speaker 3: think the whole thing, with the whole whole experience here 348 00:15:32,240 --> 00:15:34,680 Speaker 3: is becoming like the whole Saints team feels like they're 349 00:15:34,680 --> 00:15:37,240 Speaker 3: floating away to me, and it starts. 350 00:15:36,880 --> 00:15:38,560 Speaker 1: With the coach. It's the quarterback situation. 351 00:15:38,640 --> 00:15:40,400 Speaker 2: He's like the face of it, and he's become the 352 00:15:40,400 --> 00:15:43,000 Speaker 2: main target and he absolutely has played a role in 353 00:15:43,040 --> 00:15:44,920 Speaker 2: what's happening here, Mark, and I'd love to hear more, 354 00:15:45,200 --> 00:15:47,520 Speaker 2: although I'm still trying to wrap my head around next 355 00:15:47,520 --> 00:15:50,240 Speaker 2: gen stats report here that Jamis and William reached the. 356 00:15:50,520 --> 00:15:52,400 Speaker 1: Top speed of twenty point seven. 357 00:15:52,480 --> 00:15:55,680 Speaker 4: Okay, here's because you only get you only get those 358 00:15:56,000 --> 00:15:59,880 Speaker 4: what you only get those top speeds if you run 359 00:16:00,080 --> 00:16:02,120 Speaker 4: for like twenty five straight yards, you know what I mean. 360 00:16:02,160 --> 00:16:05,160 Speaker 4: You no one can get it in the first fifteen yards, 361 00:16:05,200 --> 00:16:05,760 Speaker 4: you know, what I mean. 362 00:16:05,920 --> 00:16:08,280 Speaker 2: Tell me, you can't tell me you watch that play 363 00:16:08,320 --> 00:16:10,720 Speaker 2: in real time. He's not going sixty miles an hour. 364 00:16:11,520 --> 00:16:13,280 Speaker 2: I yeah, it's it's questionable. 365 00:16:13,320 --> 00:16:16,800 Speaker 4: And when he jumped and then the celebration like multi part. 366 00:16:17,200 --> 00:16:19,720 Speaker 4: He only has a couple plays every week, but they're 367 00:16:19,760 --> 00:16:21,840 Speaker 4: among the most exciting plays in the NFL. 368 00:16:21,920 --> 00:16:23,640 Speaker 1: I love me some Jamis did with but. 369 00:16:23,600 --> 00:16:26,200 Speaker 2: No, all right, let's let's watch them James and Williams 370 00:16:26,560 --> 00:16:28,520 Speaker 2: post game one way play. 371 00:16:29,040 --> 00:16:32,080 Speaker 1: We already know what's going on. When waimore get, I 372 00:16:32,160 --> 00:16:32,800 Speaker 1: just got a giddy. 373 00:16:33,360 --> 00:16:34,280 Speaker 5: Let's go tend down. 374 00:16:34,480 --> 00:16:35,600 Speaker 12: Wait, wait, let's go. 375 00:16:37,600 --> 00:16:38,600 Speaker 5: It's such a great guy. 376 00:16:39,560 --> 00:16:43,280 Speaker 1: I gotta start start calling. I thought it was Jamo, 377 00:16:43,320 --> 00:16:44,560 Speaker 1: but I guess he's Weimo Mark. 378 00:16:44,600 --> 00:16:47,880 Speaker 2: Let's getting back to the game, and along lines what 379 00:16:47,920 --> 00:16:51,840 Speaker 2: you're saying with carr Andy and Jameis, Winston comes in 380 00:16:51,920 --> 00:16:53,600 Speaker 2: and they have a chance to steal this game, and 381 00:16:53,640 --> 00:16:56,480 Speaker 2: then he's scattershotting the ball over the place. So just 382 00:16:57,120 --> 00:16:59,320 Speaker 2: be careful, Saints fans of who you're getting after, because 383 00:16:59,360 --> 00:17:01,040 Speaker 2: it's it's a lot of people that aren't getting jobs. 384 00:17:01,080 --> 00:17:02,160 Speaker 1: Well they're not to some of their parts. 385 00:17:02,160 --> 00:17:03,960 Speaker 3: And I don't think I think it's pretty clear to 386 00:17:04,040 --> 00:17:06,000 Speaker 3: most Saints fans the Jameis Winston's not going to give 387 00:17:06,000 --> 00:17:08,280 Speaker 3: you a completely different experience. I thought this game mattered 388 00:17:08,280 --> 00:17:12,760 Speaker 3: a lot for Jared Goff, who was money when it mattered. 389 00:17:12,800 --> 00:17:14,720 Speaker 3: In the final couple of minutes. It was third and eight, 390 00:17:14,720 --> 00:17:16,560 Speaker 3: They're up thirty three to twenty eight with two plus 391 00:17:16,640 --> 00:17:20,320 Speaker 3: to go, and Goff hit Sam lad Part a beautiful 392 00:17:20,320 --> 00:17:22,439 Speaker 3: throw and then on that same drive on third and 393 00:17:22,520 --> 00:17:25,159 Speaker 3: nine to ice this thing to not allow the Saints 394 00:17:25,160 --> 00:17:27,760 Speaker 3: back in when it was so close, hit Josh Reynolds. 395 00:17:27,760 --> 00:17:29,480 Speaker 3: And it's like this was a game where Jared Goff 396 00:17:29,680 --> 00:17:33,000 Speaker 3: returned to the player that we've seen, not you know, 397 00:17:33,040 --> 00:17:36,000 Speaker 3: critical mistakes down the stretch. And for the Lions, like 398 00:17:36,280 --> 00:17:39,239 Speaker 3: had they somehow crumbled here, we'd be asking a lot 399 00:17:39,240 --> 00:17:39,719 Speaker 3: of questions. 400 00:17:39,720 --> 00:17:41,280 Speaker 1: Now they're nine and three for the first time in 401 00:17:41,320 --> 00:17:43,960 Speaker 1: the Super Bowl era, right, Yeah, big win on the road, 402 00:17:44,880 --> 00:17:47,920 Speaker 1: a game like I expected quite a stat nine and 403 00:17:48,000 --> 00:17:50,880 Speaker 1: three for the first time in fifty seven years. The Lions, 404 00:17:51,320 --> 00:17:52,200 Speaker 1: they're gonna. 405 00:17:52,000 --> 00:17:55,240 Speaker 9: Have it's been the dark organizational journey for. 406 00:17:55,240 --> 00:17:57,960 Speaker 4: They're gonna have a lot of these little numbers. And 407 00:17:58,000 --> 00:18:00,240 Speaker 4: this game kind of went like I thought, we're just 408 00:18:00,320 --> 00:18:04,080 Speaker 4: there would be messiness these two teams. The the Lions 409 00:18:04,119 --> 00:18:06,960 Speaker 4: defense is a problem enough that there's gonna be messy moments. 410 00:18:07,280 --> 00:18:09,639 Speaker 4: I was nervous, Greg, you were nervous. You jumped on 411 00:18:09,720 --> 00:18:11,840 Speaker 4: my lock. But you shouldn't have been nervous, because they 412 00:18:11,840 --> 00:18:12,679 Speaker 4: always give. 413 00:18:12,520 --> 00:18:15,520 Speaker 1: It to give it to once, give it to us. 414 00:18:16,119 --> 00:18:19,840 Speaker 1: The vibes are right, give it to me again. I 415 00:18:19,880 --> 00:18:20,960 Speaker 1: gotta say one thing real quick. 416 00:18:21,080 --> 00:18:23,399 Speaker 3: I thought that was gonna be a very annoying aspect today, 417 00:18:23,440 --> 00:18:25,280 Speaker 3: and you guys barely even talked about it. 418 00:18:25,359 --> 00:18:27,800 Speaker 1: So good that you made the office more than what 419 00:18:27,800 --> 00:18:28,480 Speaker 1: were you expecting. 420 00:18:29,560 --> 00:18:36,800 Speaker 3: Just a lot of you guys like. 421 00:18:31,680 --> 00:18:35,760 Speaker 4: Like like, I'm not gonna honk too much about uh, 422 00:18:35,960 --> 00:18:37,919 Speaker 4: the Saints losing here, But that third and nine you 423 00:18:38,000 --> 00:18:41,800 Speaker 4: just mentioned, so that the Laporta catch before that nails. 424 00:18:42,119 --> 00:18:45,640 Speaker 4: He has a chance Laporta to set the all time 425 00:18:45,680 --> 00:18:47,960 Speaker 4: record for yardage as a rookie. 426 00:18:48,000 --> 00:18:50,000 Speaker 1: I mean, you went nine today. 427 00:18:50,040 --> 00:18:52,760 Speaker 4: That's that's the record, I believe for a single game 428 00:18:53,040 --> 00:18:54,720 Speaker 4: for a rookie tight end. And now he's got a 429 00:18:54,800 --> 00:18:56,600 Speaker 4: chance to break that the season record. He's got a 430 00:18:56,600 --> 00:18:58,240 Speaker 4: pretty good chance. I think he needs a couple hundred 431 00:18:58,320 --> 00:19:01,520 Speaker 4: yards to go in the last five games. He's ridiculous. 432 00:19:01,600 --> 00:19:04,880 Speaker 4: But that throw on third and nine to Reynolds, that 433 00:19:04,960 --> 00:19:08,880 Speaker 4: play call and then Gof's execution of it was as 434 00:19:08,960 --> 00:19:12,840 Speaker 4: gutsy to me as any fourth down call that Campbell's 435 00:19:12,840 --> 00:19:15,159 Speaker 4: made all season. That was as gutsy as going for 436 00:19:15,240 --> 00:19:18,840 Speaker 4: it on your own thirty two because the Saints had 437 00:19:18,880 --> 00:19:22,200 Speaker 4: no timeouts there. The Cowboys were in a very similar 438 00:19:22,240 --> 00:19:24,919 Speaker 4: spot actually on Thursday night when they went for that 439 00:19:25,000 --> 00:19:28,240 Speaker 4: touchdown late. A little different situation, but if all the 440 00:19:28,240 --> 00:19:30,560 Speaker 4: Lions had to do there was run the ball and 441 00:19:30,600 --> 00:19:33,720 Speaker 4: they get to punt with a minute left up a touchdown, 442 00:19:33,960 --> 00:19:36,840 Speaker 4: and instead they call pass on third and nine, and 443 00:19:36,880 --> 00:19:39,159 Speaker 4: I'm thinking that's one of those plays where you tell golf, like, 444 00:19:39,200 --> 00:19:41,880 Speaker 4: if it's not there, just eat it and the clock 445 00:19:41,880 --> 00:19:43,720 Speaker 4: will run and we have like a ninety five percent 446 00:19:43,800 --> 00:19:47,440 Speaker 4: chance to win. Yeah, and there's pressure early. Goff actually 447 00:19:47,440 --> 00:19:49,920 Speaker 4: takes a hit on that play. He's moving left to 448 00:19:49,920 --> 00:19:52,240 Speaker 4: get out of the way. It's like second reaction golf play, 449 00:19:52,280 --> 00:19:54,879 Speaker 4: and when he throws that ball, I'm thinking, no, no, no, no, no, 450 00:19:54,920 --> 00:19:57,080 Speaker 4: this is such a bad idea. And he puts a 451 00:19:57,160 --> 00:20:00,320 Speaker 4: dime on Renolds while moving left and Reynolds makes a 452 00:20:00,320 --> 00:20:02,400 Speaker 4: great catch with it too and run after the catch 453 00:20:02,400 --> 00:20:03,840 Speaker 4: to get the first out. That was it was a 454 00:20:03,880 --> 00:20:06,560 Speaker 4: really high level play by by Goff and Reynolds, and 455 00:20:06,800 --> 00:20:08,440 Speaker 4: a ton of guts by the coaching stuff, and a 456 00:20:08,480 --> 00:20:11,240 Speaker 4: lot of trust. They really do trust Jared Goff an 457 00:20:11,240 --> 00:20:13,119 Speaker 4: incredible amount in these big tits. 458 00:20:12,960 --> 00:20:15,280 Speaker 3: And he's shown them outside of the past couple of 459 00:20:15,320 --> 00:20:17,480 Speaker 3: games where you know he deserves that trust. There was 460 00:20:17,520 --> 00:20:20,679 Speaker 3: one moment in this and it wasn't really like the 461 00:20:20,800 --> 00:20:23,480 Speaker 3: it wasn't the network's decision to do this, but how 462 00:20:23,760 --> 00:20:27,480 Speaker 3: like Kamara raised out of bounds and like ran into 463 00:20:27,520 --> 00:20:29,520 Speaker 3: the legs of like a chain gang dude. 464 00:20:29,640 --> 00:20:31,679 Speaker 9: Yeah, and like the camera was sort of fixed, like 465 00:20:31,680 --> 00:20:32,359 Speaker 9: the camera. 466 00:20:32,080 --> 00:20:34,000 Speaker 3: Guy was sort of fixed on the whole situation, and 467 00:20:34,080 --> 00:20:36,119 Speaker 3: it was uncomfortable to watch because it was just like 468 00:20:36,520 --> 00:20:39,480 Speaker 3: not an athlete but a like a normal man, just 469 00:20:39,560 --> 00:20:41,760 Speaker 3: like writhing on the ground in a way that like 470 00:20:41,840 --> 00:20:42,879 Speaker 3: it was worse than stuff. 471 00:20:42,880 --> 00:20:46,520 Speaker 2: I was a catastrophic lower leg injury as a dislocated 472 00:20:46,560 --> 00:20:47,280 Speaker 2: kneecap or something. 473 00:20:47,320 --> 00:20:50,040 Speaker 4: Jeff Duncan of The Times picky and reported that, yeah, 474 00:20:50,040 --> 00:20:52,119 Speaker 4: that he was at University Hospital in New Orleans. 475 00:20:52,320 --> 00:20:54,919 Speaker 1: It's gonna have surgery. It was uncomfortable to watch. We 476 00:20:54,920 --> 00:20:55,560 Speaker 1: wish him well. 477 00:20:55,680 --> 00:20:57,560 Speaker 3: It's like when we've been on the like the games 478 00:20:57,600 --> 00:21:00,000 Speaker 3: in London on the sideline, there's always this like under 479 00:21:00,240 --> 00:21:02,600 Speaker 3: belly of concern that like a football is gonna hit 480 00:21:02,600 --> 00:21:04,560 Speaker 3: me in the head, where a player is gonna smash 481 00:21:04,560 --> 00:21:05,240 Speaker 3: in me and I'll. 482 00:21:05,119 --> 00:21:05,639 Speaker 9: Just be killed. 483 00:21:06,000 --> 00:21:08,840 Speaker 2: Right, that would be in some ways a pathetic way 484 00:21:08,840 --> 00:21:11,440 Speaker 2: to go, but also kind of cool. I mean, we 485 00:21:11,560 --> 00:21:15,239 Speaker 2: would be They're all just specs on this universe, and 486 00:21:15,920 --> 00:21:17,600 Speaker 2: at least that would be a memorable death. 487 00:21:17,800 --> 00:21:18,560 Speaker 1: It'd be pathetic. 488 00:21:18,680 --> 00:21:20,240 Speaker 5: Oh has your buddy Mark doing? Oh? 489 00:21:20,320 --> 00:21:23,720 Speaker 2: Died killed on the sideline by Derrick Henry in Week five, 490 00:21:24,080 --> 00:21:30,200 Speaker 2: like oble keg all right, Uh, let's head to Houston, 491 00:21:30,240 --> 00:21:33,080 Speaker 2: where the Texans were looking to keep their playoff push 492 00:21:33,160 --> 00:21:35,639 Speaker 2: going and the Broncos we're looking to keep a winning 493 00:21:35,680 --> 00:21:36,480 Speaker 2: streak intact. 494 00:21:37,040 --> 00:21:39,320 Speaker 11: Third and goal from the eight, Wilson and the gun 495 00:21:39,520 --> 00:21:42,880 Speaker 11: one back p Ryan Wilson gets to snap wilsonid Chase. 496 00:21:43,000 --> 00:21:45,440 Speaker 13: Wilson escapes the sack, throws what's out of the ends 497 00:21:45,440 --> 00:21:53,720 Speaker 13: are accepted, Yes, Texas, Yes, Houston's gonna win. 498 00:21:54,400 --> 00:21:55,600 Speaker 8: Nine seconds to go. 499 00:21:57,640 --> 00:22:01,879 Speaker 2: Yes, Mark Van Demir and andre Ware with a yes, 500 00:22:02,720 --> 00:22:05,159 Speaker 2: Ki l T andre Ware, that's awesome. 501 00:22:05,280 --> 00:22:05,560 Speaker 5: Yeah. 502 00:22:05,600 --> 00:22:10,000 Speaker 2: The fun and surprising Texans season has been defined by 503 00:22:10,040 --> 00:22:15,800 Speaker 2: the play of wonder kind QB Bryce Young Thanks C. J. 504 00:22:16,040 --> 00:22:16,520 Speaker 5: Stroud. 505 00:22:16,920 --> 00:22:19,600 Speaker 2: On Sunday, we were reminded of the huge gains made 506 00:22:19,680 --> 00:22:21,600 Speaker 2: on the other side of the ball, Jimmy Ward's end 507 00:22:21,680 --> 00:22:24,080 Speaker 2: zone I n T save the day for the home 508 00:22:24,119 --> 00:22:27,840 Speaker 2: team and a twenty two win over the Broncos, who's 509 00:22:27,880 --> 00:22:31,440 Speaker 2: winning streak comes to an end and the Texans keep 510 00:22:31,520 --> 00:22:36,320 Speaker 2: themselves in the playoff mix. Interesting game, all right, Let's 511 00:22:36,320 --> 00:22:38,639 Speaker 2: start with the big injury news because it's it's terrible 512 00:22:38,680 --> 00:22:43,600 Speaker 2: because Tank Dell on the Texans from in close touchdown 513 00:22:43,680 --> 00:22:46,400 Speaker 2: run he's blocking, he gets rolled up on and he's 514 00:22:46,400 --> 00:22:48,040 Speaker 2: got a broken leg and he's out for the year 515 00:22:48,080 --> 00:22:51,280 Speaker 2: and he's going to injured reserve. And it's hard to 516 00:22:52,760 --> 00:22:57,720 Speaker 2: understate how important or overstate how important he is to 517 00:22:57,800 --> 00:23:00,800 Speaker 2: this team and what he has meant to SAYJ. Stroud 518 00:23:00,840 --> 00:23:03,520 Speaker 2: and what has been kind of a historic rookie season. 519 00:23:03,920 --> 00:23:06,640 Speaker 2: When you have a quarterback having a historic rookie season, 520 00:23:06,680 --> 00:23:09,800 Speaker 2: there's usually a wingman that's helping him make it happen. 521 00:23:09,880 --> 00:23:12,879 Speaker 2: And that has very much been Tank del so losing 522 00:23:12,960 --> 00:23:17,080 Speaker 2: him for the balance of the season is devastating. That said, 523 00:23:17,320 --> 00:23:20,080 Speaker 2: this is not a one trick pony act this offense. 524 00:23:20,160 --> 00:23:22,399 Speaker 2: And on the day that they lose tanked Dell for 525 00:23:22,440 --> 00:23:26,080 Speaker 2: the year. Nico Collins goes nine for one ninety one 526 00:23:26,359 --> 00:23:29,080 Speaker 2: and a touchdown. They still aren't getting anything from the 527 00:23:29,160 --> 00:23:32,080 Speaker 2: running game, but Stroud was able to find a way. 528 00:23:32,119 --> 00:23:34,600 Speaker 2: And most importantly, as I said at the top here, 529 00:23:34,600 --> 00:23:37,920 Speaker 2: it was the defense because you had, like I said, 530 00:23:37,960 --> 00:23:39,879 Speaker 2: you had the interception to seal it. That was one 531 00:23:39,920 --> 00:23:42,040 Speaker 2: of three picks by Russell Wilson. The other two were 532 00:23:42,119 --> 00:23:45,960 Speaker 2: by Derek Stingley, their number three overall pick two years ago, 533 00:23:46,400 --> 00:23:48,879 Speaker 2: and Will Anderson had two sacks and two tackles for 534 00:23:48,880 --> 00:23:50,679 Speaker 2: a loss. So you have all these guys when they 535 00:23:50,720 --> 00:23:53,920 Speaker 2: were the worst team in the league the last few years, 536 00:23:53,920 --> 00:23:56,320 Speaker 2: and they're starting to bank these high level draft picks. 537 00:23:56,520 --> 00:23:59,119 Speaker 2: It's really looking like they're hitting on these guys, and 538 00:23:59,160 --> 00:24:03,080 Speaker 2: you're seeing with Dimico Ryans leading the way, progress on 539 00:24:03,119 --> 00:24:05,920 Speaker 2: that side, and that makes Texas the Texans dangerous. 540 00:24:06,000 --> 00:24:09,440 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think like there's a connective DNA to what 541 00:24:09,520 --> 00:24:12,600 Speaker 3: Demiico Ryans was able to do in San Francisco before 542 00:24:12,600 --> 00:24:16,480 Speaker 3: he got this job where there's player development, like Will 543 00:24:16,520 --> 00:24:19,920 Speaker 3: Anderson's growth has like he was a fascinating player today 544 00:24:19,920 --> 00:24:22,240 Speaker 3: and wreaking all sorts of havoc. Like you bring in 545 00:24:22,320 --> 00:24:24,600 Speaker 3: Jimmy Ward, who obviously you know they knew each other 546 00:24:24,600 --> 00:24:26,840 Speaker 3: from San Francisco, and he's making big plays, and like 547 00:24:27,040 --> 00:24:29,879 Speaker 3: Derek Stingley, it's like it's the Yes, CJ. Stroud is 548 00:24:29,920 --> 00:24:33,239 Speaker 3: the biggest story in Houston, but this defense can make 549 00:24:33,280 --> 00:24:34,879 Speaker 3: a difference too. And I kind of just like the 550 00:24:34,920 --> 00:24:38,640 Speaker 3: way this whole team building situation has gone for Texas. 551 00:24:38,400 --> 00:24:44,640 Speaker 4: Pretty quickly, right, Jimmy Ward and Stingley. You look at 552 00:24:44,640 --> 00:24:46,879 Speaker 4: when they were in the lineup and when they weren't, 553 00:24:46,920 --> 00:24:49,600 Speaker 4: and that kind of coincides with them playing much better now. 554 00:24:49,640 --> 00:24:51,920 Speaker 4: Their offensive line has also gotten healthier, and I think 555 00:24:51,960 --> 00:24:54,879 Speaker 4: that's how too in terms of the past protection for Stroud, 556 00:24:54,920 --> 00:24:58,520 Speaker 4: but they are box office every week, that is now. 557 00:24:58,760 --> 00:25:01,600 Speaker 4: And they showed a graphic during game like heartbreaking losses 558 00:25:01,640 --> 00:25:04,040 Speaker 4: for the Texans that they had suffered. Their last three 559 00:25:04,080 --> 00:25:06,080 Speaker 4: losses were all heartbreaking, and I was looking at them, 560 00:25:06,040 --> 00:25:08,720 Speaker 4: I'm thinking, well, that's true, but like every time they 561 00:25:08,760 --> 00:25:11,359 Speaker 4: win it's a heartbreaking loss for the opponent. That is 562 00:25:11,400 --> 00:25:14,440 Speaker 4: now eight straight games that have been decided by one 563 00:25:14,480 --> 00:25:17,719 Speaker 4: score and I'm just eyeballing them. And I think all 564 00:25:17,800 --> 00:25:20,199 Speaker 4: of them were like the last drive, where like someone 565 00:25:20,280 --> 00:25:22,280 Speaker 4: has the ball and they either win the game or 566 00:25:22,320 --> 00:25:24,119 Speaker 4: they don't win the game with the ball in the 567 00:25:24,200 --> 00:25:27,320 Speaker 4: last seconds. And that's just it makes sense that they're 568 00:25:27,359 --> 00:25:29,480 Speaker 4: a young team, and I think they got to be 569 00:25:29,520 --> 00:25:33,560 Speaker 4: so excited about the Stingley Anderson combos as well, said Dan, this, 570 00:25:33,680 --> 00:25:35,040 Speaker 4: thankurt it out, Thank you Greg. 571 00:25:35,840 --> 00:25:38,080 Speaker 1: Yeah, so you have that side of things and the reason. 572 00:25:38,640 --> 00:25:41,840 Speaker 2: And again they just lost their most important offensive player 573 00:25:41,840 --> 00:25:43,600 Speaker 2: beside Stroud. So I'm not going to come down on 574 00:25:43,640 --> 00:25:46,760 Speaker 2: the offense too hard, but they really struggled to put 575 00:25:46,760 --> 00:25:49,640 Speaker 2: this game away third down. They were four for sixteen 576 00:25:49,680 --> 00:25:51,719 Speaker 2: in this game, and it allowed Denver to hang around 577 00:25:52,040 --> 00:25:54,880 Speaker 2: even on an imperfect day from their offense. So Russell Wilson, 578 00:25:55,440 --> 00:25:57,480 Speaker 2: we just talked about him. Greg is pumping his fist 579 00:25:57,560 --> 00:25:59,880 Speaker 2: right now because Wilson after going. 580 00:26:00,000 --> 00:26:00,840 Speaker 1: He didn't say a word. 581 00:26:01,000 --> 00:26:04,720 Speaker 2: No interceptions during that that's five game winning streak. He 582 00:26:04,800 --> 00:26:08,320 Speaker 2: throws three interceptions in this game, and it's kind of frustrating. 583 00:26:08,359 --> 00:26:12,160 Speaker 2: I know Denver fans are feeling it because the interception 584 00:26:12,240 --> 00:26:14,960 Speaker 2: that ends the game, he makes a really athletic play 585 00:26:15,000 --> 00:26:16,960 Speaker 2: to escape the rush and he actually he kind of 586 00:26:17,000 --> 00:26:19,960 Speaker 2: sets himself a little bit and takes an extra beat. 587 00:26:20,240 --> 00:26:22,480 Speaker 2: He probably doesn't throw that ball up for grabs because 588 00:26:22,520 --> 00:26:24,280 Speaker 2: he had he had some time, but I think he 589 00:26:24,320 --> 00:26:27,960 Speaker 2: was rushing after the hurry and it led to the interception, 590 00:26:28,119 --> 00:26:32,040 Speaker 2: so that those turnovers were killer. He also had a 591 00:26:32,080 --> 00:26:35,080 Speaker 2: touchdown pass and a touchdown run and did move the offense, 592 00:26:35,520 --> 00:26:38,080 Speaker 2: especially in the second half, but it wasn't enough. 593 00:26:38,280 --> 00:26:40,119 Speaker 5: Arrow up on court Courtland Sutton by the. 594 00:26:40,119 --> 00:26:42,560 Speaker 9: Way, Oh, I feel like every week he's doing something. 595 00:26:42,400 --> 00:26:43,720 Speaker 5: Really and I was, I was. 596 00:26:43,800 --> 00:26:45,560 Speaker 2: I think I had a tweet earlier today that he's 597 00:26:45,600 --> 00:26:47,360 Speaker 2: really kind of arrived. 598 00:26:47,359 --> 00:26:49,040 Speaker 5: But he had like a twelve hundred yard season a 599 00:26:49,080 --> 00:26:49,680 Speaker 5: few years ago. 600 00:26:49,720 --> 00:26:52,600 Speaker 4: One of West's favorite players thought he was kind of 601 00:26:52,600 --> 00:26:54,600 Speaker 4: an all Pro that was buried on a team that 602 00:26:54,800 --> 00:26:57,359 Speaker 4: it depressed his stats even though he was just incredible. 603 00:26:57,359 --> 00:26:59,399 Speaker 5: But he's kind of back now that that version of 604 00:26:59,480 --> 00:26:59,960 Speaker 5: him his best. 605 00:27:00,240 --> 00:27:03,639 Speaker 2: He had his ninth catchdown touchdown catch of the season, 606 00:27:03,680 --> 00:27:07,040 Speaker 2: so that was the positive. Denver and Houston still in 607 00:27:07,080 --> 00:27:08,600 Speaker 2: the playoff mix. But that was a big win for 608 00:27:08,640 --> 00:27:11,159 Speaker 2: the text loss in the injury. 609 00:27:10,960 --> 00:27:13,200 Speaker 3: Wilson on the ground last you know, three or four 610 00:27:13,200 --> 00:27:15,680 Speaker 3: weeks has been looking a little bit more like the. 611 00:27:15,600 --> 00:27:17,800 Speaker 4: Old Yes had a big fourth down pick up their 612 00:27:17,840 --> 00:27:21,320 Speaker 4: six and six Texans seven and five. We'll see if 613 00:27:21,320 --> 00:27:24,320 Speaker 4: that tiebreaker ends up mattering. But even just the fact 614 00:27:24,359 --> 00:27:27,040 Speaker 4: that the Texans get a game up and have a 615 00:27:27,359 --> 00:27:31,479 Speaker 4: fairly favorable schedule moving forward, as Big James Palmer pointed out, 616 00:27:31,520 --> 00:27:34,040 Speaker 4: Russell Wilson three point eight yards per attempt and play 617 00:27:34,280 --> 00:27:36,880 Speaker 4: when they weren't doing play action in you know thirteen 618 00:27:36,960 --> 00:27:38,879 Speaker 4: when it was And I think that points out a 619 00:27:38,920 --> 00:27:41,200 Speaker 4: little bit of what I've been just saying with Russell Wilson, 620 00:27:41,200 --> 00:27:42,879 Speaker 4: which is that like there's still like kind of a 621 00:27:42,920 --> 00:27:45,480 Speaker 4: limited offense. They can't just like drop back to pass 622 00:27:45,520 --> 00:27:48,960 Speaker 4: and win. That's not what they're doing. It's like play action. 623 00:27:49,080 --> 00:27:50,880 Speaker 4: It's like scheming up types of plays. 624 00:27:51,240 --> 00:27:53,680 Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean he's a nobody's pounded the table 625 00:27:53,680 --> 00:27:55,000 Speaker 2: for MVP for Russe Wilson. 626 00:27:55,080 --> 00:27:57,440 Speaker 1: No, there was like one Broncos fan, But you don't 627 00:27:57,440 --> 00:27:58,800 Speaker 1: want to be but you don't want to listen to 628 00:27:58,800 --> 00:28:02,440 Speaker 1: this closely block it was like, this is better MV. 629 00:28:03,400 --> 00:28:03,800 Speaker 1: I don't know. 630 00:28:04,160 --> 00:28:06,800 Speaker 9: Yes, I saw one that feels slightly disconnected from reality. 631 00:28:06,880 --> 00:28:09,760 Speaker 2: I think he's probably a big wins as a QB 632 00:28:09,840 --> 00:28:13,760 Speaker 2: stat guy, would be my guess. On that play one 633 00:28:13,840 --> 00:28:15,879 Speaker 2: last thing before we move on, we need Uh. This 634 00:28:15,920 --> 00:28:19,080 Speaker 2: happened a couple of times. H that I saw in 635 00:28:19,119 --> 00:28:22,080 Speaker 2: games I watched today. Happened in the Meadowlands too, against 636 00:28:22,080 --> 00:28:26,240 Speaker 2: the Falcons when they blew a play dead on a 637 00:28:26,440 --> 00:28:28,840 Speaker 2: strip of Trevor Simeon that would have went for a touchdown. 638 00:28:29,400 --> 00:28:29,520 Speaker 12: Uh. 639 00:28:29,680 --> 00:28:32,040 Speaker 2: They overturned it on review from an incomplete pass, But 640 00:28:32,080 --> 00:28:34,840 Speaker 2: if they just let the play play out, it's a 641 00:28:34,840 --> 00:28:37,800 Speaker 2: touchdown and a game icing touchdown for Atlanta. In this game, 642 00:28:37,840 --> 00:28:41,200 Speaker 2: the Texans hit some a JP ryand for no game 643 00:28:41,240 --> 00:28:42,840 Speaker 2: They took the ball away ran it in for a 644 00:28:42,880 --> 00:28:47,280 Speaker 2: tv TD, but officials ruled forward progressing stopped. A replay 645 00:28:47,360 --> 00:28:49,640 Speaker 2: showed it that that was you could very easily have 646 00:28:49,680 --> 00:28:50,760 Speaker 2: gone the other way on that. 647 00:28:51,000 --> 00:28:54,520 Speaker 1: And it's just, you know, come on, bad officiating game whistles. 648 00:28:54,600 --> 00:28:56,040 Speaker 2: I feel like I was watching a lot of bad 649 00:28:56,080 --> 00:28:57,920 Speaker 2: officiating in the games I watched today. 650 00:28:58,160 --> 00:28:58,960 Speaker 5: I don't know about you. 651 00:28:59,120 --> 00:28:59,680 Speaker 1: And the Texans. 652 00:28:59,680 --> 00:29:05,760 Speaker 4: First touchdown was after Alex Singleton roughing, which was pretty 653 00:29:05,760 --> 00:29:07,800 Speaker 4: soft like where it was. That was a fourth down 654 00:29:07,880 --> 00:29:11,280 Speaker 4: turnover that it kept the drive going because he like 655 00:29:11,400 --> 00:29:12,480 Speaker 4: lightly pushed C J. 656 00:29:12,560 --> 00:29:12,920 Speaker 1: Stroud. 657 00:29:12,920 --> 00:29:15,600 Speaker 4: Although if I was Texans fans, I would love the 658 00:29:15,640 --> 00:29:18,360 Speaker 4: fact that Stroud like immediately got right back. 659 00:29:18,200 --> 00:29:20,160 Speaker 1: In his face. And that's why I was surprised, like 660 00:29:20,200 --> 00:29:22,720 Speaker 1: Singleton just got the penalty and Stroud at all. But 661 00:29:22,760 --> 00:29:23,680 Speaker 1: it was I liked it. 662 00:29:23,680 --> 00:29:25,840 Speaker 3: I would say, if you're an official and it's pouring 663 00:29:25,960 --> 00:29:28,280 Speaker 3: rain or it looked like it was hailing at one 664 00:29:28,360 --> 00:29:30,680 Speaker 3: point down in Tampa, like I think it'd be, you know, 665 00:29:30,720 --> 00:29:31,960 Speaker 3: I would do a lesser job. 666 00:29:32,960 --> 00:29:35,840 Speaker 4: Not a problem at NRG Stadium if that's what it is. 667 00:29:35,840 --> 00:29:38,160 Speaker 4: It's still energy. I don't they flipped that way. So 668 00:29:40,160 --> 00:29:42,560 Speaker 4: you're saying they wouldn't try as hard if the weather 669 00:29:42,640 --> 00:29:42,880 Speaker 4: was better. 670 00:29:42,880 --> 00:29:44,720 Speaker 3: I don't, but try as hard. It's like to go 671 00:29:44,720 --> 00:29:47,320 Speaker 3: go do anything just as good. If it's freezing rain 672 00:29:47,400 --> 00:29:50,160 Speaker 3: and you're like soaking, well, it's your job. The professional 673 00:29:50,720 --> 00:29:51,160 Speaker 3: you know what. 674 00:29:51,120 --> 00:29:53,160 Speaker 1: If job to begin with. 675 00:29:53,200 --> 00:29:55,040 Speaker 5: If this is open air and the rains pouring in. 676 00:29:55,320 --> 00:29:56,160 Speaker 9: Oh, we'd be professional. 677 00:29:56,200 --> 00:29:58,240 Speaker 2: But this is what we just stays at a level 678 00:29:58,320 --> 00:30:00,480 Speaker 2: absolutely of greatness. All right, let's take a break and 679 00:30:00,600 --> 00:30:01,440 Speaker 2: we will march on. 680 00:30:09,880 --> 00:30:10,000 Speaker 13: Right. 681 00:30:10,200 --> 00:30:14,640 Speaker 2: Welcome back to Around the NFL the Flagship Program, Week thirteen. 682 00:30:15,040 --> 00:30:17,520 Speaker 2: It's time now for the Sunday Drive presented by the 683 00:30:17,520 --> 00:30:20,440 Speaker 2: first ever Toyota Grand Highlander. 684 00:30:21,400 --> 00:30:24,680 Speaker 1: It is Nick Shook time. So let's head to Nashville. 685 00:30:25,120 --> 00:30:28,360 Speaker 1: Two thirty four to go in overtime, second down and 686 00:30:28,400 --> 00:30:30,800 Speaker 1: goal at the four Hanks. You out of the guns, 687 00:30:31,080 --> 00:30:34,880 Speaker 1: shotgun snap looks to is right, Indians close, Michael Pittman 688 00:30:35,240 --> 00:30:36,040 Speaker 1: looks down. 689 00:30:36,440 --> 00:30:39,080 Speaker 8: Touchdown. Michael Pittman ball game? 690 00:30:39,560 --> 00:30:40,840 Speaker 1: Why gee? 691 00:30:41,080 --> 00:30:44,880 Speaker 11: Why Michael Pittman into the inZone from Carnivent. 692 00:30:45,040 --> 00:30:47,960 Speaker 1: You and the cool Quinn thirty one. 693 00:30:47,920 --> 00:30:53,600 Speaker 8: C bang in Nashville. Yes, sir, how the Bungos are out? 694 00:30:54,560 --> 00:30:57,280 Speaker 2: Matt Taylor and Rick Van Turry with the call w 695 00:30:57,560 --> 00:31:01,560 Speaker 2: f N I Gardner means you threw a four yard 696 00:31:01,560 --> 00:31:04,760 Speaker 2: touchdown pass to Michael Pittman with two thirty one to 697 00:31:04,800 --> 00:31:09,160 Speaker 2: play in overtime, allowing the Colts to escape Nashville with 698 00:31:09,240 --> 00:31:12,400 Speaker 2: a thirty one to twenty eight win over the Titans. 699 00:31:12,400 --> 00:31:14,680 Speaker 2: That's four straight wins for the Colts to keep them 700 00:31:14,680 --> 00:31:18,160 Speaker 2: in the playoff race in the AFC. The Colts had 701 00:31:18,320 --> 00:31:21,320 Speaker 2: needed that touchdown because Nick Folk booted a forty six 702 00:31:21,400 --> 00:31:25,440 Speaker 2: yarder earlier in ot But they would not be denied. 703 00:31:25,480 --> 00:31:30,000 Speaker 1: Another man who will never be denied in all things, 704 00:31:30,040 --> 00:31:31,520 Speaker 1: but especially in the gym. 705 00:31:31,960 --> 00:31:36,600 Speaker 2: The pipe pipe, pipe, pipe pipe. 706 00:31:37,520 --> 00:31:40,840 Speaker 1: Game turned on that block punt, didn't it. Yeah, a 707 00:31:40,840 --> 00:31:42,560 Speaker 1: little bit. I got the Colts back to the game. 708 00:31:42,680 --> 00:31:45,040 Speaker 14: Titans were got out too an early lead, kind of 709 00:31:45,040 --> 00:31:46,560 Speaker 14: had a little bit of control of the game. Colts 710 00:31:46,600 --> 00:31:48,880 Speaker 14: couldn't do all that much offensively. You get the block pun, 711 00:31:49,000 --> 00:31:51,560 Speaker 14: everything swings. Suddenly the Colts are stringing together good drive, 712 00:31:51,600 --> 00:31:54,200 Speaker 14: They take the lead, they get it to overtime, Titans 713 00:31:54,200 --> 00:31:54,640 Speaker 14: fight back. 714 00:31:54,720 --> 00:31:56,000 Speaker 1: This game had everything. 715 00:31:56,600 --> 00:31:59,520 Speaker 14: This game had pretty much every element you'll expect from 716 00:31:59,560 --> 00:32:02,600 Speaker 14: an NFL game. There was all kinds of wackiness. You 717 00:32:02,680 --> 00:32:06,360 Speaker 14: had two former backups now starters playing pretty good football. 718 00:32:07,520 --> 00:32:10,080 Speaker 14: A classic meeting between the Colts and Titans. This used 719 00:32:10,120 --> 00:32:12,360 Speaker 14: to decide the division. It's not going to decide the 720 00:32:12,360 --> 00:32:15,120 Speaker 14: division this year, but it was worthy of that type 721 00:32:15,200 --> 00:32:17,640 Speaker 14: those types of steaks and Colts. 722 00:32:17,360 --> 00:32:18,120 Speaker 5: Come away a winner. 723 00:32:18,120 --> 00:32:19,920 Speaker 14: And I don't know if if you know, but just 724 00:32:19,920 --> 00:32:21,800 Speaker 14: just so you're certain in case the radio call didn't 725 00:32:21,840 --> 00:32:22,760 Speaker 14: get it through to your head. 726 00:32:22,880 --> 00:32:25,080 Speaker 9: Yeah, he got it, He's got it, he got it. 727 00:32:25,160 --> 00:32:25,360 Speaker 5: Yeah. 728 00:32:25,800 --> 00:32:28,360 Speaker 4: Yeah, you can watch games all season and not I 729 00:32:28,360 --> 00:32:31,920 Speaker 4: would imagine we won't see any other game where a 730 00:32:32,040 --> 00:32:35,760 Speaker 4: punt is blocked twice in a row by the same team, 731 00:32:35,880 --> 00:32:38,160 Speaker 4: which knocks out the punter and then brings a Nick 732 00:32:38,200 --> 00:32:40,600 Speaker 4: Folk to punt who, by the way, punted. Fine, sure, 733 00:32:40,720 --> 00:32:43,760 Speaker 4: let's just save a roster spot and have no as 734 00:32:43,840 --> 00:32:47,800 Speaker 4: the holder. Yeah he didn't, which that may have cost 735 00:32:47,920 --> 00:32:50,840 Speaker 4: them because they missed the extra point with Tannehill the laces. 736 00:32:50,920 --> 00:32:53,200 Speaker 4: It's like, okay, can we calm down to the laces 737 00:32:53,320 --> 00:32:54,200 Speaker 4: and hit an extra point? 738 00:32:54,240 --> 00:32:54,720 Speaker 1: What do I know? 739 00:32:54,720 --> 00:32:55,520 Speaker 5: You're out of your element. 740 00:32:56,200 --> 00:32:58,240 Speaker 4: And then, more importantly, I mean the same game that 741 00:32:58,280 --> 00:33:00,440 Speaker 4: we have two straight block punts, we have a pick two, 742 00:33:00,840 --> 00:33:05,760 Speaker 4: which is one of my favorite things. If this game 743 00:33:05,800 --> 00:33:08,280 Speaker 4: did not involve the Colts Titans, it would absolutely be 744 00:33:08,320 --> 00:33:11,680 Speaker 4: our game of the week. Maybe we should rethink it. 745 00:33:11,960 --> 00:33:13,360 Speaker 4: I'm just saying there said there was a. 746 00:33:13,400 --> 00:33:17,760 Speaker 1: Lone going on tangle. Yeah, go ahead, shooky, Yeah, they 747 00:33:17,840 --> 00:33:18,240 Speaker 1: kind of are. 748 00:33:18,360 --> 00:33:20,960 Speaker 14: I mean Gardner minshe had a strong day. You know, 749 00:33:21,000 --> 00:33:23,880 Speaker 14: he didn't make any mistakes. He had a beautiful touchdown 750 00:33:23,920 --> 00:33:25,320 Speaker 14: pass to Alec Pierce, who I think is kind of 751 00:33:25,320 --> 00:33:27,080 Speaker 14: coming on as of late. He's a guy who I've 752 00:33:27,120 --> 00:33:28,960 Speaker 14: kind of liked, and and you look at the receiving 753 00:33:28,960 --> 00:33:30,720 Speaker 14: corps and you think, well, they don't have all that 754 00:33:30,800 --> 00:33:32,680 Speaker 14: much talent. But if a guy like Piers can produce 755 00:33:32,720 --> 00:33:34,440 Speaker 14: like he did today, then suddenly it'll be much better 756 00:33:34,480 --> 00:33:36,400 Speaker 14: and be more than just Michael Pittman, who also had 757 00:33:36,400 --> 00:33:38,840 Speaker 14: a strong day. But it's you know, it's a cold 758 00:33:38,840 --> 00:33:40,560 Speaker 14: team that's hanging around guys. I mean, we know who 759 00:33:40,600 --> 00:33:42,480 Speaker 14: the Titans are. They went through a stretch last couple 760 00:33:42,480 --> 00:33:44,280 Speaker 14: of weeks where they couldn't move the ball at all, 761 00:33:44,400 --> 00:33:45,960 Speaker 14: and it was nice to see Will Levis get some 762 00:33:46,000 --> 00:33:48,600 Speaker 14: time to throw. And because Derek Henry found some success 763 00:33:48,600 --> 00:33:50,320 Speaker 14: in the ground before he exited with an injury, you know, 764 00:33:50,440 --> 00:33:52,520 Speaker 14: Levis was able to operate the offense and you kind 765 00:33:52,520 --> 00:33:54,320 Speaker 14: of see what Greg was all high on Levis for 766 00:33:54,520 --> 00:33:56,680 Speaker 14: like a month ago or however long ago. It was like, 767 00:33:56,760 --> 00:33:59,240 Speaker 14: it's there, it is there. I totally see it. But 768 00:33:59,280 --> 00:34:01,600 Speaker 14: once Henry leaves, that offense kind of shrinks, gives the 769 00:34:01,600 --> 00:34:03,720 Speaker 14: Colts an opening. And again, like I said, the Colts 770 00:34:03,760 --> 00:34:05,800 Speaker 14: are hanging around. They're seven and five. They're probably the 771 00:34:05,920 --> 00:34:07,640 Speaker 14: ugliest seven and five team in the league right now 772 00:34:07,640 --> 00:34:10,759 Speaker 14: outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers. But then again, you have 773 00:34:10,840 --> 00:34:13,080 Speaker 14: to take them seriously from here on out, especially when 774 00:34:13,080 --> 00:34:14,520 Speaker 14: they find ways to win this game, because for a 775 00:34:14,560 --> 00:34:15,919 Speaker 14: while there it looked like they were going to drop 776 00:34:15,920 --> 00:34:16,880 Speaker 14: one to a division rival. 777 00:34:16,960 --> 00:34:19,279 Speaker 3: And they're not going away if they play like this 778 00:34:19,440 --> 00:34:22,320 Speaker 3: and if they're coached like this, because they've got the 779 00:34:22,360 --> 00:34:26,319 Speaker 3: Bengals Joe Burrow free Bengals next week, a Steelers team 780 00:34:26,320 --> 00:34:28,319 Speaker 3: that's going to be playing with their backup quarterback, a 781 00:34:28,400 --> 00:34:31,360 Speaker 3: Falcons team that's beatable, the Raiders who are beatable. 782 00:34:30,960 --> 00:34:32,839 Speaker 1: And then that final game with the Texans. So it's 783 00:34:32,840 --> 00:34:33,279 Speaker 1: like we. 784 00:34:33,239 --> 00:34:35,400 Speaker 3: Talked a lot about the Colts last week, and I 785 00:34:35,440 --> 00:34:38,840 Speaker 3: hear it like they're not always exciting to watch. But 786 00:34:38,880 --> 00:34:41,240 Speaker 3: I do think that change psyching is a difference making 787 00:34:41,280 --> 00:34:43,439 Speaker 3: type of coach. And I look at the overall jobb 788 00:34:43,440 --> 00:34:45,960 Speaker 3: he's done this year, I'm really impressed. And you get 789 00:34:45,960 --> 00:34:47,640 Speaker 3: this version of Gardner minsh, You're not the one that's 790 00:34:47,640 --> 00:34:49,800 Speaker 3: throwing three interceptions and you can win. 791 00:34:49,800 --> 00:34:53,680 Speaker 4: Right That was his best throw of the game in overtime. 792 00:34:54,280 --> 00:34:56,400 Speaker 4: And I want to give them credit because they're just clutched. 793 00:34:56,400 --> 00:34:58,520 Speaker 4: They always find a way here. And then I look 794 00:34:58,560 --> 00:35:01,239 Speaker 4: and like the offense I think had a total of 795 00:35:01,440 --> 00:35:04,160 Speaker 4: fourteen yards on their last five possessions of the in 796 00:35:04,520 --> 00:35:06,440 Speaker 4: the fourth quarter, So their offense did not was not 797 00:35:06,560 --> 00:35:08,880 Speaker 4: clutch in the fourth quarter, but their defense made just 798 00:35:09,000 --> 00:35:10,160 Speaker 4: enough place to get him to overtime. 799 00:35:10,160 --> 00:35:12,120 Speaker 1: And then Minshew makes the play, and it's just like 800 00:35:12,239 --> 00:35:14,120 Speaker 1: and that the culture now three and zero. 801 00:35:14,120 --> 00:35:17,640 Speaker 2: When min Chew does not throw an interception, which you 802 00:35:17,680 --> 00:35:19,759 Speaker 2: know he does do that a lot, so but when 803 00:35:19,800 --> 00:35:22,919 Speaker 2: he plays the clean version of a Minshee game, it's 804 00:35:23,000 --> 00:35:26,239 Speaker 2: just like the Coult server a reminder, and I hope 805 00:35:26,280 --> 00:35:28,680 Speaker 2: teams are learning from this in this very sloppy quarterback 806 00:35:28,719 --> 00:35:30,239 Speaker 2: season twenty twenty three. 807 00:35:30,560 --> 00:35:32,760 Speaker 1: Your season doesn't have to be over because your starting 808 00:35:32,840 --> 00:35:35,080 Speaker 1: quarterback got hurt. It doesn't have to be right. 809 00:35:35,120 --> 00:35:37,960 Speaker 2: For many teams, it is because they don't prioritize or 810 00:35:38,000 --> 00:35:41,279 Speaker 2: invest in the position beyond the starter. And Minshew was 811 00:35:41,320 --> 00:35:43,600 Speaker 2: out there for anybody, and the Colts said, Okay, we 812 00:35:43,800 --> 00:35:46,560 Speaker 2: like having that guy behind our rookie. And when the 813 00:35:46,640 --> 00:35:49,239 Speaker 2: rookie disappears at the end of September, they were still 814 00:35:49,280 --> 00:35:51,840 Speaker 2: okay because the rookie was still figuring things out, so 815 00:35:51,880 --> 00:35:53,640 Speaker 2: it wasn't even like you were going from up here 816 00:35:53,960 --> 00:35:57,040 Speaker 2: to down here. And Minshew somehow has to find a 817 00:35:57,080 --> 00:35:59,640 Speaker 2: balance like he came in playing. I mean he's a 818 00:35:59,680 --> 00:36:03,320 Speaker 2: lower level, he's a high backup, you know, lower rung starter, 819 00:36:03,640 --> 00:36:05,880 Speaker 2: but that's enough in a division like this, and a 820 00:36:05,920 --> 00:36:09,520 Speaker 2: team like you're saying credit to Stichen and the whole operation. 821 00:36:09,840 --> 00:36:11,360 Speaker 2: They've been able to win a lot of these like 822 00:36:11,400 --> 00:36:13,320 Speaker 2: coin flip games, and they're in the mix as a result. 823 00:36:13,320 --> 00:36:14,920 Speaker 3: I mean, if you can have a fringe starter as 824 00:36:14,920 --> 00:36:17,160 Speaker 3: your backup, you're in a different place than teams that 825 00:36:17,719 --> 00:36:20,440 Speaker 3: you know, with a lack of creativity stick someone behind 826 00:36:20,440 --> 00:36:22,960 Speaker 3: your starter, like in Cincinnati and if anything happened to 827 00:36:23,040 --> 00:36:25,480 Speaker 3: Josh Allen in Buffalo, where it's like your season is 828 00:36:25,560 --> 00:36:27,520 Speaker 3: lost if you sticking a guy who's just a ham 829 00:36:27,520 --> 00:36:27,920 Speaker 3: and egger. 830 00:36:28,480 --> 00:36:29,880 Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think it also is kind of. 831 00:36:32,120 --> 00:36:35,600 Speaker 14: They're indicative of how strong your coaching staff is because 832 00:36:35,600 --> 00:36:37,560 Speaker 14: we've seen this happen over the last few years, and 833 00:36:37,600 --> 00:36:39,600 Speaker 14: you've seen it in this season, where you know, a 834 00:36:39,680 --> 00:36:43,000 Speaker 14: team like San Francisco in previous years had to go 835 00:36:43,040 --> 00:36:44,799 Speaker 14: through a number of different quarterbacks and yet found a 836 00:36:44,800 --> 00:36:47,160 Speaker 14: way to still be kind of competitive. Or this year 837 00:36:47,160 --> 00:36:48,920 Speaker 14: with the Colts, and how Shane Stikeen's doing such a 838 00:36:48,920 --> 00:36:50,640 Speaker 14: great job. He'd be a Coach of the Year candidate 839 00:36:50,760 --> 00:36:53,399 Speaker 14: if Demico Ryans didn't exist, I think, or you look 840 00:36:53,400 --> 00:36:55,400 Speaker 14: at all and they've had to go through all these 841 00:36:55,400 --> 00:36:58,040 Speaker 14: things with their quarterback situation, and Kevin Sevanci has been 842 00:36:58,120 --> 00:36:59,719 Speaker 14: up and down in that department, but yet they've stayed 843 00:36:59,719 --> 00:37:02,640 Speaker 14: a flow. It really is the silver lining of a 844 00:37:02,680 --> 00:37:04,920 Speaker 14: messy quarterback season is you get a better evaluation of 845 00:37:04,920 --> 00:37:07,880 Speaker 14: how strong coaching staff is and how well they're equipped 846 00:37:07,880 --> 00:37:10,560 Speaker 14: to handle adversity. And and you know that sometimes that. 847 00:37:11,280 --> 00:37:14,120 Speaker 4: He is a candidate, they invite three coaches to the 848 00:37:14,239 --> 00:37:16,000 Speaker 4: NFL honors. 849 00:37:16,040 --> 00:37:19,800 Speaker 1: He certainly got. He certainly got a chance. Don't invite 850 00:37:19,800 --> 00:37:22,520 Speaker 1: two coaches who aren't gonna win. I don't know how 851 00:37:22,520 --> 00:37:26,640 Speaker 1: that works. Maybe they don't, but they definitely you don't 852 00:37:26,680 --> 00:37:28,440 Speaker 1: invite multiple coaches, then you. 853 00:37:29,040 --> 00:37:34,160 Speaker 2: Then you got to give you the idea of Manu 854 00:37:34,560 --> 00:37:36,799 Speaker 2: Chaange Stegonds, like I could be Coach of the Year 855 00:37:36,840 --> 00:37:41,920 Speaker 2: if only Demiko Ryans didn't exist. It's like Josh Malwitz 856 00:37:41,960 --> 00:37:44,640 Speaker 2: on Dateline the same record. 857 00:37:44,680 --> 00:37:47,480 Speaker 1: They got the same record, and one's coaching with with Minschew. 858 00:37:47,600 --> 00:37:49,279 Speaker 4: So, uh, you might have a point, but it's one 859 00:37:49,280 --> 00:37:52,920 Speaker 4: of those seas insinuating murder. Yeah, everything goes right for 860 00:37:53,000 --> 00:37:55,839 Speaker 4: them that you get two block punts. Jeffrey Simmons leaves 861 00:37:55,880 --> 00:37:57,720 Speaker 4: with an injury and Derek Henry leaves with an injury 862 00:37:57,719 --> 00:37:58,399 Speaker 4: in the same game. 863 00:37:59,640 --> 00:38:02,359 Speaker 2: Henry went over one hundred with two scores. Hopefully he's 864 00:38:02,400 --> 00:38:06,279 Speaker 2: going to be okay, shookie, Thank you buddy. Easy one week. Learn more at toyota dot com. Slash Grand Highlander. 875 00:38:25,200 --> 00:38:27,000 Speaker 2: I think we had a good Thursday show, guys. I 876 00:38:27,080 --> 00:38:30,600 Speaker 2: keep looking at some of the results and it's syncing 877 00:38:30,680 --> 00:38:34,080 Speaker 2: up with our commentary going into these games. We looked 878 00:38:34,080 --> 00:38:36,200 Speaker 2: at this Dolphins Commanders game and said, you know what, 879 00:38:37,440 --> 00:38:40,640 Speaker 2: these fish, it's been a while since. They gave us 880 00:38:40,640 --> 00:38:45,680 Speaker 2: some explosive fun and it was explosive. Well, it's explosive 881 00:38:45,760 --> 00:38:49,960 Speaker 2: fun for the Dolphins and explosive something else for the 882 00:38:49,960 --> 00:38:51,160 Speaker 2: Commanders and their fans. 883 00:38:51,239 --> 00:38:54,360 Speaker 5: Let's head to landovers. 884 00:38:54,520 --> 00:38:57,520 Speaker 13: Kill e motion goes to the right looking for him 885 00:38:57,840 --> 00:38:59,080 Speaker 13: keep down the field. 886 00:39:00,680 --> 00:39:04,239 Speaker 8: What a movement by a heel to kicks that football. 887 00:39:04,480 --> 00:39:07,200 Speaker 2: He was turned inside Joe the bolls it, throw it 888 00:39:07,239 --> 00:39:10,400 Speaker 2: to the outside and he weeded his way back. Another 889 00:39:10,600 --> 00:39:15,520 Speaker 2: bomb to its Hill touchdown Jimmy Cefalo. 890 00:39:15,360 --> 00:39:17,200 Speaker 1: WBGG with it called. 891 00:39:17,239 --> 00:39:21,400 Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill had two more touchdowns in five catches for 892 00:39:21,440 --> 00:39:23,399 Speaker 2: a buck fifty seven that was basically in a half 893 00:39:23,440 --> 00:39:27,640 Speaker 2: a word, and he and the Miami Dolphins absolutely hammet 894 00:39:28,520 --> 00:39:33,759 Speaker 2: the Washington Commanders forty five point fifteen to remain comfortably 895 00:39:33,800 --> 00:39:36,520 Speaker 2: atop the AFC East and they're nine to three for 896 00:39:36,600 --> 00:39:39,520 Speaker 2: the first time since two thousand and one. How about that, Greggie, 897 00:39:41,400 --> 00:39:43,760 Speaker 2: This was it? This was that a dominant Miami offense. 898 00:39:43,800 --> 00:39:46,040 Speaker 2: And of course if they're having a dominant day, Tyreek 899 00:39:46,080 --> 00:39:46,840 Speaker 2: Hill is all over it. 900 00:39:46,920 --> 00:39:48,640 Speaker 1: Yeah, I want it to be dazzled. I said it. 901 00:39:48,719 --> 00:39:50,080 Speaker 4: It's been a while since we had one of those 902 00:39:50,120 --> 00:39:52,839 Speaker 4: two games and we got it, and yes, Tyreek Hill 903 00:39:53,280 --> 00:39:55,920 Speaker 4: is ridiculous, and that is such a great adjustment on 904 00:39:55,960 --> 00:39:58,680 Speaker 4: the ball there where maybe they weren't on the same 905 00:39:58,719 --> 00:40:02,800 Speaker 4: page exactly, and he gets the long touchdown. But Tua 906 00:40:03,640 --> 00:40:07,239 Speaker 4: creates math problems with these receivers. Those two long touchdowns 907 00:40:07,239 --> 00:40:10,239 Speaker 4: that he threw were in getting rid of the ball 908 00:40:10,320 --> 00:40:12,080 Speaker 4: in two point one to three seconds, in two point 909 00:40:12,080 --> 00:40:14,840 Speaker 4: twenty five seconds, which is so fast, and yet the 910 00:40:14,880 --> 00:40:16,319 Speaker 4: ball is fifty yards. 911 00:40:16,000 --> 00:40:18,000 Speaker 1: Down the field and Hill is catching up to it. 912 00:40:18,040 --> 00:40:20,360 Speaker 1: So it's timing, it's footwork. 913 00:40:20,480 --> 00:40:24,799 Speaker 4: I think Tua's really improved at resetting and making the 914 00:40:24,840 --> 00:40:26,960 Speaker 4: first pass rush or miss missed. That wasn't maybe the 915 00:40:27,040 --> 00:40:29,720 Speaker 4: case on those touchdowns, but there were many plays today 916 00:40:29,760 --> 00:40:33,279 Speaker 4: where Washington actually did get pressure quickly and he just 917 00:40:33,320 --> 00:40:35,560 Speaker 4: does a little shoulder shake or he moves to the 918 00:40:35,600 --> 00:40:39,239 Speaker 4: side and then he resets. It's very Tom Brady is 919 00:40:39,360 --> 00:40:41,680 Speaker 4: just in terms of the pocket presence of just quickly 920 00:40:41,719 --> 00:40:44,560 Speaker 4: moving and then making a nice throw. So I'm I'm 921 00:40:44,640 --> 00:40:48,160 Speaker 4: all aboard the Tyreek Hill is the MVP right now. 922 00:40:48,160 --> 00:40:50,920 Speaker 4: I've been saying that for a while. He's at ninety 923 00:40:50,920 --> 00:40:54,799 Speaker 4: three for one, one twelve, but this was absolutely also 924 00:40:54,840 --> 00:40:56,959 Speaker 4: a great TUA performance and it was nice to see. 925 00:40:57,000 --> 00:40:57,480 Speaker 1: We needed that. 926 00:40:57,840 --> 00:41:00,000 Speaker 3: I mean, Tyreek Hill is just doing this every week. 927 00:41:01,320 --> 00:41:03,480 Speaker 3: Part of it is the opponent. Washington has given up 928 00:41:03,480 --> 00:41:06,600 Speaker 3: one hundred and five points in three games, and well, 929 00:41:06,640 --> 00:41:07,960 Speaker 3: I think Sam Howell has been. 930 00:41:08,120 --> 00:41:10,680 Speaker 1: A visually intriguing player to watch. 931 00:41:11,600 --> 00:41:14,279 Speaker 3: Everything is falling apart and it's it's clear, you know 932 00:41:14,719 --> 00:41:16,200 Speaker 3: the coach is going to be gone, the GM is 933 00:41:16,200 --> 00:41:18,719 Speaker 3: going to be gone. I think Howell deserves a chance 934 00:41:18,760 --> 00:41:21,600 Speaker 3: to stay as your future starter. I think he's shown 935 00:41:21,640 --> 00:41:24,600 Speaker 3: a lot, but he also, like is not protected well, 936 00:41:24,680 --> 00:41:26,680 Speaker 3: walks into a lot of his own sacks. And when 937 00:41:26,719 --> 00:41:28,920 Speaker 3: you get the version of them throwing a pick six today, 938 00:41:29,680 --> 00:41:31,200 Speaker 3: lighting now, I think it's a good sign that without 939 00:41:31,280 --> 00:41:34,799 Speaker 3: Jill Phillips, the Dolphins like defense played another good game. 940 00:41:34,840 --> 00:41:37,359 Speaker 4: They got so much pressure on how this. I thought 941 00:41:37,360 --> 00:41:39,279 Speaker 4: Howell played well in this game, which will sound crazy 942 00:41:39,320 --> 00:41:41,080 Speaker 4: because he had one hundred and twenty seven yards in 943 00:41:41,120 --> 00:41:44,840 Speaker 4: an interception. The interception to me is not on the quarterback. 944 00:41:44,880 --> 00:41:47,000 Speaker 4: It was a great read by Andrew van Ginkle, like 945 00:41:47,360 --> 00:41:50,279 Speaker 4: a play that they through film study. He just read 946 00:41:50,320 --> 00:41:53,520 Speaker 4: it and picked it off. Van Ginkel had a sack, 947 00:41:54,040 --> 00:41:57,200 Speaker 4: a pick six and almost blocked a pun and then yeah, 948 00:41:57,239 --> 00:41:59,879 Speaker 4: Seeler and ogbad getting pressure. They were all over how 949 00:42:00,040 --> 00:42:02,319 Speaker 4: who had a couple of rushing touchdowns. And he only 950 00:42:02,320 --> 00:42:03,759 Speaker 4: took three sacks in this game. This is one of 951 00:42:03,760 --> 00:42:05,560 Speaker 4: those where he could have taken about eight sacks in 952 00:42:05,600 --> 00:42:05,960 Speaker 4: this game. 953 00:42:06,000 --> 00:42:08,160 Speaker 5: You can't give somebody a staff for almost doing something. 954 00:42:08,200 --> 00:42:11,800 Speaker 2: I'm just saying he was amongst after stats. 955 00:42:12,000 --> 00:42:14,000 Speaker 1: I just made like vig Gego is everywhere. 956 00:42:14,000 --> 00:42:16,040 Speaker 4: And there was a moment like right after a pick 957 00:42:16,080 --> 00:42:18,479 Speaker 4: six and a sack that he then almost blocked the button. 958 00:42:18,520 --> 00:42:22,799 Speaker 2: I was just like, nice, was great. You know, I think, uh, 959 00:42:23,400 --> 00:42:26,600 Speaker 2: we now have Ron Rivera. He has now graduated, uh 960 00:42:27,360 --> 00:42:30,200 Speaker 2: to the uh Frank Reich dead man walking club. 961 00:42:30,440 --> 00:42:32,479 Speaker 1: It's no longer a matter of if, It's a matter 962 00:42:32,520 --> 00:42:32,879 Speaker 1: of when. 963 00:42:33,560 --> 00:42:36,359 Speaker 2: And there is certainly a case to be made here 964 00:42:37,520 --> 00:42:39,840 Speaker 2: and everyone out there wants Eric Pienemy to get a 965 00:42:39,840 --> 00:42:43,560 Speaker 2: shot as a head coach with his resume to give 966 00:42:43,760 --> 00:42:45,800 Speaker 2: the enemy, you know, four or five weeks. 967 00:42:46,120 --> 00:42:48,320 Speaker 3: I couldn't agree more. I don't think you let you. 968 00:42:48,320 --> 00:42:49,799 Speaker 3: I don't think you just let him gocuse. I think 969 00:42:49,840 --> 00:42:52,800 Speaker 3: he's been he's been a big shot. 970 00:42:52,840 --> 00:42:54,439 Speaker 2: See what happens with the team, see how they play 971 00:42:54,520 --> 00:42:56,880 Speaker 2: with him, and see how the offense operates with him 972 00:42:56,920 --> 00:43:00,799 Speaker 2: kind of having more responsibility. Now I might look smart 973 00:43:00,800 --> 00:43:03,400 Speaker 2: if this happens on like tomorrow, would not shock me. 974 00:43:03,480 --> 00:43:05,920 Speaker 2: But they also just let go of the defensive coordinator 975 00:43:05,960 --> 00:43:07,880 Speaker 2: and that was kind of the blood letting that I 976 00:43:07,880 --> 00:43:09,520 Speaker 2: thought would take Rivera to the finish line. 977 00:43:09,520 --> 00:43:11,880 Speaker 1: And yet games like these make you think, like what 978 00:43:12,040 --> 00:43:14,160 Speaker 1: is the point, Like they're also going to they're entering 979 00:43:14,200 --> 00:43:15,520 Speaker 1: their bye week too, so. 980 00:43:15,640 --> 00:43:17,040 Speaker 5: Another reason why it could happen. 981 00:43:17,200 --> 00:43:18,040 Speaker 1: Okay, it could. 982 00:43:18,080 --> 00:43:20,680 Speaker 4: And there was like a moment where Bienemy was kind 983 00:43:20,680 --> 00:43:23,560 Speaker 4: of like barking at Howell on the side. I just 984 00:43:23,600 --> 00:43:26,040 Speaker 4: don't know, Like it's not a good position for Bienemy 985 00:43:26,200 --> 00:43:30,080 Speaker 4: to be in either. I don't think it helps anyone. 986 00:43:30,520 --> 00:43:33,600 Speaker 4: But yeah, Rivera's defense. The Dolphins only had nine drives. 987 00:43:33,400 --> 00:43:35,400 Speaker 1: In this game and they put up forty five points, 988 00:43:35,400 --> 00:43:38,640 Speaker 1: So it was rather that was rather a need and 989 00:43:38,880 --> 00:43:40,839 Speaker 1: a chain came back scored a couple of times. They 990 00:43:41,160 --> 00:43:42,759 Speaker 1: you know, that was a kind of get right game. 991 00:43:42,800 --> 00:43:44,279 Speaker 1: That was a nice adjust I. 992 00:43:44,239 --> 00:43:46,880 Speaker 2: Had not thought of it in roughly twenty five years. 993 00:43:46,920 --> 00:43:50,640 Speaker 2: But on NFL Primetime on ESPN. Back in the nineties, 994 00:43:51,280 --> 00:43:54,160 Speaker 2: Eric Benemy was a running back. Oh yeah, and Chris 995 00:43:54,200 --> 00:43:56,120 Speaker 2: Berman would call him sleeping. 996 00:43:55,719 --> 00:43:56,400 Speaker 5: With the enemy. 997 00:43:56,560 --> 00:43:59,719 Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the Julia Roberts vehicle on one of his 998 00:43:59,800 --> 00:44:04,640 Speaker 1: best Yeah, maller and technicical. Now sleeping at the enemy 999 00:44:04,760 --> 00:44:07,640 Speaker 1: is that's a classic sleeping with the enemy. 1000 00:44:09,480 --> 00:44:11,640 Speaker 5: Good stuff. All right, here we go. 1001 00:44:11,800 --> 00:44:14,160 Speaker 2: We move forward because that's the only thing we can 1002 00:44:14,239 --> 00:44:16,279 Speaker 2: do across the sidewalk. 1003 00:44:16,960 --> 00:44:19,880 Speaker 1: Mark Sessler was not in attendance, and maybe that was 1004 00:44:19,880 --> 00:44:20,319 Speaker 1: a good thing. 1005 00:44:20,760 --> 00:44:23,279 Speaker 15: So has seven seconds to work with as they set 1006 00:44:23,360 --> 00:44:26,840 Speaker 15: up from the thirty second and one from the pocket, 1007 00:44:26,840 --> 00:44:27,640 Speaker 15: he deals. 1008 00:44:27,320 --> 00:44:30,560 Speaker 2: Down the scene, hits pot, broke it field holcoh oh, 1009 00:44:30,640 --> 00:44:34,040 Speaker 2: that was pretty Pooka. 1010 00:44:33,080 --> 00:44:35,960 Speaker 11: To the crib, just touchdown. 1011 00:44:35,320 --> 00:44:35,960 Speaker 1: Alan. 1012 00:44:40,640 --> 00:44:41,200 Speaker 5: To the crib. 1013 00:44:43,600 --> 00:44:46,480 Speaker 1: You know, we love our guy, Davey Long with the call, 1014 00:44:47,280 --> 00:44:50,200 Speaker 1: great guy, great announcer. Oh yeah. 1015 00:44:50,840 --> 00:44:54,920 Speaker 2: Matthew Stafford threw three touchdown passes and that guy pooking 1016 00:44:54,960 --> 00:44:59,239 Speaker 2: Akoua the first ever Rams rookie wide receiver across one 1017 00:44:59,280 --> 00:45:00,400 Speaker 2: thousand yards in the season. 1018 00:45:01,320 --> 00:45:03,200 Speaker 1: It's December third, how about that? 1019 00:45:03,280 --> 00:45:05,600 Speaker 2: Wow, the Rams keep winning. That's three in a row, 1020 00:45:05,760 --> 00:45:09,120 Speaker 2: sneaky three game winning streak. Thirty six nineteen over the 1021 00:45:09,120 --> 00:45:15,200 Speaker 2: Browns at so far mark that final score is misleading 1022 00:45:15,320 --> 00:45:18,799 Speaker 2: because we were sitting next to each other. The Browns have 1023 00:45:18,840 --> 00:45:20,440 Speaker 2: a chance to tie this game, I believe in the 1024 00:45:20,480 --> 00:45:21,120 Speaker 2: fourth quarter. 1025 00:45:21,239 --> 00:45:21,520 Speaker 5: Yeah. 1026 00:45:21,520 --> 00:45:23,719 Speaker 3: And then what midway through down one right, Yeah, and 1027 00:45:24,600 --> 00:45:26,759 Speaker 3: you're one of the most reliable kickers in the league, 1028 00:45:26,760 --> 00:45:29,560 Speaker 3: misses an extra point and things go south from there 1029 00:45:29,600 --> 00:45:33,880 Speaker 3: and Dustin Hopkins, Dustin Hopkins, I think this this feels 1030 00:45:33,920 --> 00:45:35,920 Speaker 3: like a lot of Browns games. We're gonna get down 1031 00:45:35,960 --> 00:45:37,640 Speaker 3: the stretch because you got you had Joe Flacco. And 1032 00:45:37,640 --> 00:45:40,759 Speaker 3: I'll say one story for Cleveland is that I would 1033 00:45:40,760 --> 00:45:42,439 Speaker 3: not have been as surprise if we got a version 1034 00:45:42,440 --> 00:45:45,000 Speaker 3: of Joe Flacco that literally was a statue, couldn't move 1035 00:45:45,000 --> 00:45:48,640 Speaker 3: and any fumbles today, no, no fumbles through the ball. 1036 00:45:49,000 --> 00:45:52,160 Speaker 2: He had a stone age pony. He can do something. 1037 00:45:52,200 --> 00:45:54,600 Speaker 2: He also looked to me refreshed. 1038 00:45:54,680 --> 00:45:56,920 Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not saying he's gonna he's he's not 1039 00:45:56,920 --> 00:45:59,400 Speaker 3: going to like like confuse anyone on the ground, but 1040 00:45:59,440 --> 00:46:01,400 Speaker 3: he didn't look like he looked to me last year 1041 00:46:01,440 --> 00:46:04,240 Speaker 3: with the Jets. I thought he threw the ball outside 1042 00:46:04,280 --> 00:46:06,280 Speaker 3: of you know, the one interception that was so costly, 1043 00:46:06,400 --> 00:46:09,120 Speaker 3: like threw the ball really well at times, and like 1044 00:46:09,280 --> 00:46:10,680 Speaker 3: you kind of it's like, oh, well, if you had 1045 00:46:10,719 --> 00:46:13,680 Speaker 3: this version of of a quarterback play like during this, 1046 00:46:13,800 --> 00:46:15,640 Speaker 3: Like you know, they've been on four of them and 1047 00:46:15,640 --> 00:46:17,960 Speaker 3: it's been real up and down. Maybe they win some 1048 00:46:18,000 --> 00:46:19,719 Speaker 3: of these close games, but I like this is an 1049 00:46:19,760 --> 00:46:23,160 Speaker 3: example of like Omari Cooper goes out with an injury, 1050 00:46:23,640 --> 00:46:26,839 Speaker 3: they've got very little else happening, you know, through the air, 1051 00:46:27,000 --> 00:46:30,319 Speaker 3: and like they're they're a patchwork ground game without Nick 1052 00:46:30,400 --> 00:46:33,680 Speaker 3: Chubb and so it's like they're the amount of mistakes 1053 00:46:33,719 --> 00:46:36,560 Speaker 3: they can make in a Ford is so narrow unless 1054 00:46:36,560 --> 00:46:38,880 Speaker 3: their defense has one of those games from Miles Garrett 1055 00:46:38,960 --> 00:46:41,160 Speaker 3: has three sacks and you're turning the ball over, you know, 1056 00:46:41,440 --> 00:46:44,080 Speaker 3: take generating takeaways, and they weren't doing that today. 1057 00:46:44,160 --> 00:46:45,839 Speaker 1: And it's a it's a couple of weeks in. 1058 00:46:45,800 --> 00:46:48,440 Speaker 3: A row where it's kind of just like concerned about 1059 00:46:48,480 --> 00:46:50,279 Speaker 3: the overall journey of this Browns team. R I feel like 1060 00:46:50,320 --> 00:46:53,120 Speaker 3: other AFC teams at the bottom of that, like wild 1061 00:46:53,160 --> 00:46:56,359 Speaker 3: Card Grid are starting to heat up, like Cleveland's going 1062 00:46:56,360 --> 00:46:58,360 Speaker 3: in the other direction, and I don't really think you 1063 00:46:58,360 --> 00:47:01,000 Speaker 3: can rely on Joe Flacco and left of this offense 1064 00:47:01,000 --> 00:47:01,400 Speaker 3: to save you. 1065 00:47:01,440 --> 00:47:03,560 Speaker 4: Well, yeah, midway through the fourth quarter, which is crazy 1066 00:47:03,600 --> 00:47:07,400 Speaker 4: looking at the final score. The brown score touchdown, they 1067 00:47:07,400 --> 00:47:09,279 Speaker 4: missed the extra point, but then they get a quick 1068 00:47:09,360 --> 00:47:13,400 Speaker 4: punt from the Rams and Joe Flacco actually has the 1069 00:47:13,440 --> 00:47:17,200 Speaker 4: ball with six point fifty one to go down one point. 1070 00:47:17,560 --> 00:47:19,760 Speaker 4: And at that point there were a lot of tweets 1071 00:47:19,800 --> 00:47:22,239 Speaker 4: and I was half watching this game too. 1072 00:47:22,239 --> 00:47:23,000 Speaker 1: There's a lot of drops. 1073 00:47:23,000 --> 00:47:25,120 Speaker 4: I thought Flacco was playing great, like Tony Grose's saying, 1074 00:47:25,160 --> 00:47:27,839 Speaker 4: this is the best game any quarterbacks played for the 1075 00:47:27,840 --> 00:47:31,400 Speaker 4: Browns this season. And then Flacco just forced one. He 1076 00:47:31,480 --> 00:47:34,480 Speaker 4: took a shot that he shouldn't have taken. John Johnson 1077 00:47:34,480 --> 00:47:38,320 Speaker 4: intercepts it, returns it, and suddenly the Rams are rolling. 1078 00:47:38,400 --> 00:47:40,560 Speaker 4: But you can tell me more, Mark that I was 1079 00:47:40,640 --> 00:47:43,879 Speaker 4: surprised to see the Rams rack up four hundred yards 1080 00:47:43,920 --> 00:47:46,560 Speaker 4: almost in this game. And I think Stafford played well 1081 00:47:46,560 --> 00:47:48,600 Speaker 4: and Pukinoku is great and they get the running game 1082 00:47:48,640 --> 00:47:51,120 Speaker 4: going late. But if you had just said, Okay, this 1083 00:47:51,160 --> 00:47:53,759 Speaker 4: is an average defense, they're playing like they looked like 1084 00:47:53,800 --> 00:47:55,520 Speaker 4: an average defense based on the stats. 1085 00:47:55,520 --> 00:47:56,279 Speaker 1: Did they look like that? 1086 00:47:56,640 --> 00:47:59,440 Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, because it wasn't the way that the Rams. 1087 00:47:59,520 --> 00:48:02,120 Speaker 3: The Rams did it a lot through the air. I mean, 1088 00:48:02,200 --> 00:48:04,719 Speaker 3: Nakua fried them. They don't have Denzel Award and that's 1089 00:48:04,719 --> 00:48:06,920 Speaker 3: two weeks in a row. Yeah, they really miss him. 1090 00:48:07,000 --> 00:48:09,160 Speaker 3: I think that if you look at Jim Schwartz's defense 1091 00:48:09,239 --> 00:48:12,040 Speaker 3: is historically like they've shined when he's had like that 1092 00:48:12,120 --> 00:48:16,160 Speaker 3: shutdown corner and they're picking on other cornerbacks in this game. 1093 00:48:16,719 --> 00:48:19,040 Speaker 3: And like Nikua had one hundred plus yard because of 1094 00:48:19,040 --> 00:48:20,640 Speaker 3: that play right there, but he hit one hundred plus 1095 00:48:20,760 --> 00:48:24,080 Speaker 3: yards in the first quarter and then like what he 1096 00:48:24,160 --> 00:48:25,600 Speaker 3: looks like he had a nasty injury. 1097 00:48:25,640 --> 00:48:27,400 Speaker 1: It was a rib injury, but came back in. 1098 00:48:27,600 --> 00:48:29,399 Speaker 3: So it's like, this is a gritty young guy who 1099 00:48:29,440 --> 00:48:31,920 Speaker 3: like when you don't get big numbers from Cooper Cup 1100 00:48:32,080 --> 00:48:34,280 Speaker 3: Stafford Kaleen on him, and it's like they found different 1101 00:48:34,280 --> 00:48:36,320 Speaker 3: ways to beat a pretty banged up Browns defense. 1102 00:48:36,560 --> 00:48:39,319 Speaker 2: Browns didn't force a turnover, the Browns didn't have a sack. 1103 00:48:41,120 --> 00:48:43,000 Speaker 2: A lot of talk about the Browns is a historic 1104 00:48:43,040 --> 00:48:45,319 Speaker 2: defense that's kind of out the window now. They've been 1105 00:48:45,360 --> 00:48:47,960 Speaker 2: normal for a few weeks now. And I don't know 1106 00:48:48,000 --> 00:48:50,799 Speaker 2: if Males Garrett's healthy or not, but you know that's 1107 00:48:50,880 --> 00:48:53,520 Speaker 2: now a very quiet game and a big spot. And 1108 00:48:53,960 --> 00:48:56,400 Speaker 2: on the other side of the ball. You know Joe Flacco. 1109 00:48:57,080 --> 00:48:59,759 Speaker 2: You know he's six foot six and he's got the howitzer. 1110 00:49:00,040 --> 00:49:02,080 Speaker 2: Even on the Jets last year, if you protected him, 1111 00:49:02,120 --> 00:49:04,640 Speaker 2: he made some plays like he could so if they 1112 00:49:04,680 --> 00:49:06,920 Speaker 2: can block for him. He cannot play behind a bad 1113 00:49:06,920 --> 00:49:08,400 Speaker 2: offensive line at this stage of his career. 1114 00:49:08,480 --> 00:49:09,960 Speaker 1: But did they block for him. I'm sure he could 1115 00:49:10,000 --> 00:49:10,919 Speaker 1: keep this offense moving. 1116 00:49:10,960 --> 00:49:13,919 Speaker 2: But the defense has to rediscover that spark or yeah, 1117 00:49:13,920 --> 00:49:15,960 Speaker 2: they're going to fade out of this very quickly. 1118 00:49:15,960 --> 00:49:16,800 Speaker 5: The Ramps are interesting. 1119 00:49:16,840 --> 00:49:19,080 Speaker 2: This is their first greg three game winning streak since 1120 00:49:19,080 --> 00:49:20,040 Speaker 2: their Super Bowl season. 1121 00:49:20,080 --> 00:49:24,239 Speaker 4: Wow, and they're limiting teams. I think this is four 1122 00:49:24,239 --> 00:49:27,440 Speaker 4: street they've held opponents under twenty one points. The defense, 1123 00:49:27,480 --> 00:49:30,960 Speaker 4: which is so undermanned, gets better and better. Kobe Turner, 1124 00:49:31,040 --> 00:49:33,239 Speaker 4: a rookie, had a really nice game. But I think 1125 00:49:33,239 --> 00:49:36,799 Speaker 4: this was a reminder. Flaco's old, for sure, thirty eight 1126 00:49:36,880 --> 00:49:40,000 Speaker 4: years old, but it's easy to forget Matthew Stafford's thirty five, 1127 00:49:40,360 --> 00:49:44,040 Speaker 4: and he is just next freaking level. There was a 1128 00:49:44,080 --> 00:49:47,080 Speaker 4: play they hit a couple big plays to DeMarcus Robinson 1129 00:49:47,120 --> 00:49:51,080 Speaker 4: in the second half, and there was one where Kyron 1130 00:49:51,080 --> 00:49:53,640 Speaker 4: Williams is coming out of the back we field on 1131 00:49:53,680 --> 00:49:57,640 Speaker 4: a wheel route, and Stafford turns his whole soulder and 1132 00:49:57,719 --> 00:49:59,920 Speaker 4: Williams is open, turns his whole soulder to kind of 1133 00:50:00,040 --> 00:50:02,000 Speaker 4: look at him, doesn't even do a pumping, but just 1134 00:50:02,320 --> 00:50:04,439 Speaker 4: moves his feet and his shoulders to look at Kyrien. 1135 00:50:04,480 --> 00:50:06,800 Speaker 4: Williams gets the safety to bite and then just throws 1136 00:50:06,840 --> 00:50:10,800 Speaker 4: a total dime behind the safety on that touchdown to Niakua. 1137 00:50:11,040 --> 00:50:13,399 Speaker 4: That was an audible at the line of scrimmage. Sean 1138 00:50:13,480 --> 00:50:16,279 Speaker 4: McVay did not call that play, and so awesome. Stafford's 1139 00:50:16,320 --> 00:50:20,080 Speaker 4: operating at a really, really high level, and that's why 1140 00:50:20,080 --> 00:50:22,200 Speaker 4: they're six and six. He still is the biggest reason 1141 00:50:22,200 --> 00:50:23,520 Speaker 4: to me that they're six and six. 1142 00:50:23,560 --> 00:50:27,400 Speaker 3: You know what, Lebron James and Kareem Abdul Jabarbara booth 1143 00:50:27,520 --> 00:50:28,000 Speaker 3: at this game? 1144 00:50:28,200 --> 00:50:30,359 Speaker 1: Who at the football game? 1145 00:50:30,400 --> 00:50:34,560 Speaker 4: The two highest scoring players in the history of basket. 1146 00:50:34,320 --> 00:50:37,480 Speaker 1: But they're basketball players. I don't know, why would they 1147 00:50:37,520 --> 00:50:39,239 Speaker 1: be at the I don't know. It made no sense 1148 00:50:39,280 --> 00:50:41,799 Speaker 1: to me from that angle that they're not the same sport. 1149 00:50:42,080 --> 00:50:45,600 Speaker 1: Doesn't it seem like we should have heard something by now? 1150 00:50:47,360 --> 00:50:48,759 Speaker 5: What I mean, how much more time do I have 1151 00:50:48,800 --> 00:50:49,680 Speaker 5: to buy for you, Bud. 1152 00:50:51,160 --> 00:50:53,880 Speaker 1: I don't know why this is the most completely different 1153 00:50:53,920 --> 00:50:56,600 Speaker 1: in basketball now. I don't know why this is the 1154 00:50:56,680 --> 00:50:59,080 Speaker 1: drop for of all the drops that have gotten the 1155 00:50:59,120 --> 00:51:04,040 Speaker 1: most used. There was something highly comical about like flying 1156 00:51:04,160 --> 00:51:07,719 Speaker 1: up the rappaport connection, like ian was your supposed to 1157 00:51:08,000 --> 00:51:08,640 Speaker 1: from basketball? 1158 00:51:08,680 --> 00:51:10,120 Speaker 5: See, yeah, that one. 1159 00:51:10,000 --> 00:51:12,480 Speaker 3: Right, an NFL insider saying that, So you know I'm 1160 00:51:12,480 --> 00:51:14,320 Speaker 3: getting but I agree. 1161 00:51:14,320 --> 00:51:15,759 Speaker 2: I think we all agree with you. So that's why 1162 00:51:15,760 --> 00:51:17,399 Speaker 2: I was surprised they were even at the football game. 1163 00:51:17,560 --> 00:51:20,440 Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I it is illogical, all right. 1164 00:51:20,840 --> 00:51:24,280 Speaker 2: Speaking of ill logical, the Jets for the past twelve years, 1165 00:51:24,360 --> 00:51:26,240 Speaker 2: oh fifty twelve to the medal. 1166 00:51:26,080 --> 00:51:30,000 Speaker 10: Ends Boyle from under center here on second at nine, 1167 00:51:30,080 --> 00:51:32,920 Speaker 10: play fake to Dalvin Cook. Boyle wants to hang one 1168 00:51:32,960 --> 00:51:34,720 Speaker 10: up fort Garrett Wilson. 1169 00:51:34,320 --> 00:51:35,360 Speaker 8: And it's picked. 1170 00:51:35,719 --> 00:51:39,560 Speaker 10: Jesse Bates has got another one fifth interception of the 1171 00:51:39,640 --> 00:51:43,120 Speaker 10: year for Jesse Bates, and like last week, he read 1172 00:51:43,160 --> 00:51:44,480 Speaker 10: it from center field. 1173 00:51:48,080 --> 00:51:48,840 Speaker 1: In Atlanta. 1174 00:51:49,719 --> 00:51:53,080 Speaker 10: Celebrates the pick by Baits with twenty six seconds. 1175 00:51:52,680 --> 00:51:53,640 Speaker 5: To go into third. 1176 00:51:54,200 --> 00:51:56,840 Speaker 2: Yes, that right there might be the final throw of 1177 00:51:56,960 --> 00:52:00,520 Speaker 2: Tim Boyle's NFL career. Yes, another benefactor of the Aaron 1178 00:52:00,560 --> 00:52:03,880 Speaker 2: Rodgers Scholarship fund bit the dust on Sunday, be fuddled 1179 00:52:03,880 --> 00:52:06,520 Speaker 2: by the Falcons defense and an ugly thirteen to eight 1180 00:52:06,640 --> 00:52:12,160 Speaker 2: win for the NFC South leaders. Desmond Ritter back in 1181 00:52:12,160 --> 00:52:13,879 Speaker 2: the lineup for the second game. He threw a twenty 1182 00:52:13,960 --> 00:52:16,640 Speaker 2: yard touchdown pass to Mikole Pruitt in the second quarter. 1183 00:52:17,000 --> 00:52:19,120 Speaker 5: That was the only touchdown in the game, and that was. 1184 00:52:19,120 --> 00:52:20,920 Speaker 2: The only thing that you would really need to beat 1185 00:52:21,320 --> 00:52:27,279 Speaker 2: the Jets, who cannot score touchdowns. So the Falcons they 1186 00:52:28,400 --> 00:52:33,840 Speaker 2: keep their spot top the NFC South. However, man, if 1187 00:52:33,880 --> 00:52:36,759 Speaker 2: you want to talk yourself into the Falcons, go do 1188 00:52:36,800 --> 00:52:39,040 Speaker 2: it until you're blue in the face. And I'm not 1189 00:52:39,080 --> 00:52:41,520 Speaker 2: going to take anything away from him. They won this game, 1190 00:52:41,560 --> 00:52:43,319 Speaker 2: but I just I still don't see it with this team, 1191 00:52:43,320 --> 00:52:45,520 Speaker 2: and they could not get the running game going. They 1192 00:52:45,560 --> 00:52:48,360 Speaker 2: really won because how inept the other side of the 1193 00:52:48,360 --> 00:52:48,919 Speaker 2: ball is here. 1194 00:52:48,960 --> 00:52:49,680 Speaker 1: They're a tough watch. 1195 00:52:49,680 --> 00:52:51,960 Speaker 3: And I'm looking at this drive chart that the Jets 1196 00:52:52,080 --> 00:52:54,760 Speaker 3: had six drives that win for less than six yards, 1197 00:52:54,800 --> 00:52:56,200 Speaker 3: I mean, and they seem to look at like it 1198 00:52:56,239 --> 00:52:56,680 Speaker 3: every week. 1199 00:52:56,719 --> 00:52:58,080 Speaker 9: And I guess i'd ask you this. 1200 00:52:58,160 --> 00:53:00,440 Speaker 3: Like, do you see the team con you mean to 1201 00:53:00,440 --> 00:53:03,399 Speaker 3: splinter and fracture or was this a little bit better? 1202 00:53:03,520 --> 00:53:05,600 Speaker 2: That's almost too exciting a faith for the Jets at 1203 00:53:05,600 --> 00:53:06,560 Speaker 2: this point, they just stink. 1204 00:53:06,600 --> 00:53:07,920 Speaker 5: They're a bad team. 1205 00:53:08,360 --> 00:53:12,879 Speaker 2: They are now on their third quarterback Trevor Simmons came 1206 00:53:12,920 --> 00:53:16,920 Speaker 2: in after that boil throw and was equally ineffective. It 1207 00:53:17,000 --> 00:53:20,279 Speaker 2: was so and credit the Falcons defense, Okay, you got it, 1208 00:53:20,320 --> 00:53:21,959 Speaker 2: because you know, you gotta win games in the league. 1209 00:53:22,000 --> 00:53:25,600 Speaker 2: And when the Jets took the field for their last possession, 1210 00:53:25,880 --> 00:53:29,160 Speaker 2: they are down. What are they down? They're down five 1211 00:53:29,160 --> 00:53:31,680 Speaker 2: points and they have the ball with less than two 1212 00:53:31,680 --> 00:53:34,359 Speaker 2: minutes to play. They don't have any timeouts, but they 1213 00:53:34,360 --> 00:53:35,640 Speaker 2: have the ball and they just have to go down 1214 00:53:35,680 --> 00:53:36,760 Speaker 2: the field and score a touchdown. 1215 00:53:37,360 --> 00:53:39,240 Speaker 5: There was no one watching this game. 1216 00:53:39,600 --> 00:53:41,680 Speaker 2: There was no one at Metlive Stadium that thought the 1217 00:53:41,719 --> 00:53:43,839 Speaker 2: Jets had any chance to go down the field. They 1218 00:53:43,840 --> 00:53:47,040 Speaker 2: had one completion on the drive to get near I 1219 00:53:47,040 --> 00:53:49,080 Speaker 2: think the forty yard line, and then they just marched 1220 00:53:49,120 --> 00:53:52,799 Speaker 2: backwards and didn't even come close. So the Falcons, you know, 1221 00:53:53,040 --> 00:53:56,879 Speaker 2: as frustrating and up and down as their offense has 1222 00:53:56,920 --> 00:53:59,360 Speaker 2: been this season, and again you would have liked to 1223 00:53:59,360 --> 00:54:01,960 Speaker 2: see their running game, you know, do better in this game. 1224 00:54:02,360 --> 00:54:05,359 Speaker 2: Their defense has been at times pretty good this year, 1225 00:54:05,520 --> 00:54:08,960 Speaker 2: and against a bad offense like the Jets and weather 1226 00:54:09,120 --> 00:54:11,200 Speaker 2: like this, it was miserable at the metal ends. They 1227 00:54:11,200 --> 00:54:12,560 Speaker 2: took advantage of their setup. 1228 00:54:12,640 --> 00:54:14,719 Speaker 4: Yeah, I think this is sometimes I think the narrative's 1229 00:54:14,719 --> 00:54:18,000 Speaker 4: been played up too much that the Jets defense is 1230 00:54:18,000 --> 00:54:19,839 Speaker 4: just holding on, holding on, holding on some of those 1231 00:54:19,880 --> 00:54:22,399 Speaker 4: games that they haven't been, you know, pristine this game. 1232 00:54:22,480 --> 00:54:24,839 Speaker 4: You give up one hundred and ninety four yards, you 1233 00:54:24,880 --> 00:54:28,440 Speaker 4: give up three yards per play, You hold the Falcons 1234 00:54:28,520 --> 00:54:32,560 Speaker 4: running attack, which was outstanding last week, to ninety yards. 1235 00:54:32,600 --> 00:54:36,240 Speaker 4: You keep giving your offense a chance after chance after chance. 1236 00:54:36,280 --> 00:54:40,040 Speaker 4: The Jets offense had seven possessions in the second half. 1237 00:54:40,880 --> 00:54:44,000 Speaker 4: They did everything humanly possible. This was kind of the 1238 00:54:44,040 --> 00:54:47,719 Speaker 4: stereotypical Jets game that we've been talking about all years, 1239 00:54:47,760 --> 00:54:50,160 Speaker 4: and now they have the fewest touchdowns of any team 1240 00:54:51,000 --> 00:54:53,759 Speaker 4: through twelve games in thirty years. And I saw this 1241 00:54:53,880 --> 00:54:56,920 Speaker 4: stat from whoa from it was? I think it was 1242 00:54:56,960 --> 00:54:59,680 Speaker 4: on true media. I forget who tweeted out. I apologize, 1243 00:54:59,719 --> 00:55:05,040 Speaker 4: but two of the top five worst games of off 1244 00:55:05,080 --> 00:55:08,360 Speaker 4: target throws from quarterback, so they measure how many throws 1245 00:55:08,400 --> 00:55:10,160 Speaker 4: did you have in the game that gave your receiver 1246 00:55:10,280 --> 00:55:13,840 Speaker 4: no chance to even make the catch. Tim Boyle in 1247 00:55:13,920 --> 00:55:17,040 Speaker 4: this game was I think third worst all season, and 1248 00:55:17,080 --> 00:55:18,600 Speaker 4: Trevor Simeon was fifth worst. 1249 00:55:18,719 --> 00:55:19,960 Speaker 1: So it was like they. 1250 00:55:19,800 --> 00:55:22,360 Speaker 4: Can't find they can't find a quarterback who could just 1251 00:55:22,360 --> 00:55:24,080 Speaker 4: throw the ball. And I know there was bad weather, 1252 00:55:24,120 --> 00:55:25,600 Speaker 4: but it's like Ritter wasn't on that list. 1253 00:55:25,760 --> 00:55:28,479 Speaker 2: As I will do on these Sundays this season, because 1254 00:55:28,520 --> 00:55:31,400 Speaker 2: this has been, honestly, and there have been so many 1255 00:55:31,440 --> 00:55:34,160 Speaker 2: but in a lot of ways, the most frustrating worst 1256 00:55:34,200 --> 00:55:36,760 Speaker 2: Jets season ever because of the Rogers side of things, 1257 00:55:37,520 --> 00:55:40,520 Speaker 2: and maybe if there's any positive to this, this almost 1258 00:55:40,719 --> 00:55:42,840 Speaker 2: certainly should take Aaron Rodgers out of play trying to 1259 00:55:42,840 --> 00:55:44,600 Speaker 2: force his way back on the field because they are 1260 00:55:44,880 --> 00:55:48,040 Speaker 2: essentially eliminated at this point four and eight. I heard 1261 00:55:48,080 --> 00:55:51,719 Speaker 2: there were Zach Wilson apologists in my mentions being like, oh, 1262 00:55:52,000 --> 00:55:54,640 Speaker 2: and you wanted and you wanted Zack Wilson out of lineup. 1263 00:55:54,960 --> 00:55:56,920 Speaker 5: Well, yeah, it didn't work, but it. 1264 00:55:56,880 --> 00:55:58,520 Speaker 2: Was always a hail Mary to see if one of 1265 00:55:58,520 --> 00:56:00,000 Speaker 2: these guys could provide a spark. 1266 00:56:00,160 --> 00:56:03,040 Speaker 1: Neither could, and now you have Bob Sala, who. 1267 00:56:02,880 --> 00:56:06,239 Speaker 2: Has completely been stripped of any dignity up on the 1268 00:56:06,280 --> 00:56:08,480 Speaker 2: press on the day of saying, oh, you know, you 1269 00:56:08,680 --> 00:56:11,720 Speaker 2: might be turning to another quarterback next week. And again, 1270 00:56:11,760 --> 00:56:14,560 Speaker 2: it didn't have to be over after Week one. Maybe 1271 00:56:14,600 --> 00:56:16,960 Speaker 2: the Super Bowl dreams had to be over, but you 1272 00:56:16,960 --> 00:56:19,000 Speaker 2: could have still been competitive this year if you went 1273 00:56:19,040 --> 00:56:22,080 Speaker 2: out and got a real quarterback. You didn't, and like 1274 00:56:22,120 --> 00:56:25,319 Speaker 2: I said, you get what you deserve. So another gruesome 1275 00:56:25,440 --> 00:56:28,520 Speaker 2: Sunday at the Metal Lands. And the thing I worry 1276 00:56:28,520 --> 00:56:32,360 Speaker 2: about spinning forward now is, and I've seen it before, 1277 00:56:32,520 --> 00:56:34,959 Speaker 2: they got some really talented it's a top heavy roster 1278 00:56:35,000 --> 00:56:37,200 Speaker 2: for the Jets, but a lot of talented young guys 1279 00:56:37,400 --> 00:56:41,160 Speaker 2: that are living through a gruesome season after a horrible 1280 00:56:41,280 --> 00:56:44,279 Speaker 2: ending to last season, and it's just bad energy and 1281 00:56:44,360 --> 00:56:47,799 Speaker 2: bad vibes, and that leads to negative talk and guys 1282 00:56:47,840 --> 00:56:48,359 Speaker 2: maybe not. 1283 00:56:48,280 --> 00:56:49,720 Speaker 5: Wanted to be in the building anymore. 1284 00:56:49,760 --> 00:56:52,040 Speaker 2: And they're seeing what's going on elsewhere in the league 1285 00:56:52,040 --> 00:56:53,800 Speaker 2: where people are having fun and winning games. 1286 00:56:54,239 --> 00:56:57,000 Speaker 5: It's gotten to that place for the Jets. 1287 00:56:57,080 --> 00:56:59,520 Speaker 2: So I don't know how much else needs to be 1288 00:56:59,520 --> 00:57:02,280 Speaker 2: said about this game. The Falcons took care of business, 1289 00:57:02,600 --> 00:57:04,680 Speaker 2: but I wasn't overly impressed by them. It was like 1290 00:57:04,719 --> 00:57:08,320 Speaker 2: a mediocre team against a team that is completely imploded 1291 00:57:08,600 --> 00:57:10,400 Speaker 2: and the mediocre team came out ahead. 1292 00:57:10,600 --> 00:57:14,200 Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel really ultimately incorrect about what I thought 1293 00:57:14,239 --> 00:57:16,920 Speaker 3: the Falcons would be. And they're just the middle of 1294 00:57:16,960 --> 00:57:19,120 Speaker 3: the road team and a terrible division. They're gonna get 1295 00:57:19,120 --> 00:57:21,240 Speaker 3: an extra game in January that I don't need to watch. 1296 00:57:21,280 --> 00:57:24,040 Speaker 4: But maybe maybe there's there's six and sent that they're 1297 00:57:24,080 --> 00:57:26,280 Speaker 4: in that world, there's six and six, so that gives 1298 00:57:26,320 --> 00:57:29,480 Speaker 4: them a one game lead over the Saints and the Bucks. 1299 00:57:29,560 --> 00:57:32,400 Speaker 4: Hopefully it's only one NFC South team to sneak in, 1300 00:57:32,440 --> 00:57:34,920 Speaker 4: although if the you know, the Falcons are at six 1301 00:57:34,960 --> 00:57:37,200 Speaker 4: and six, they were one of four teams we just 1302 00:57:37,280 --> 00:57:39,000 Speaker 4: mentioned the Rams that are at six and six. 1303 00:57:38,960 --> 00:57:40,520 Speaker 1: It might turn into five. It's a six and sick 1304 00:57:40,560 --> 00:57:41,640 Speaker 1: God help us, and they. 1305 00:57:41,480 --> 00:57:44,000 Speaker 9: Get two teams from that Southern Probably won't happen. 1306 00:57:44,160 --> 00:57:46,680 Speaker 1: Probably won't happen. A. J. 1307 00:57:46,800 --> 00:57:48,520 Speaker 4: Terrell got hurt in this game, by the way, their 1308 00:57:48,520 --> 00:57:51,640 Speaker 4: best defensive day after losing Grady Jarrett. 1309 00:57:52,480 --> 00:57:57,200 Speaker 1: You know they need him back, all right, let's see, 1310 00:57:57,720 --> 00:57:58,200 Speaker 1: let's see. 1311 00:57:58,360 --> 00:58:03,680 Speaker 5: Let us move to you're dying with anticipation Arch. 1312 00:58:05,000 --> 00:58:09,480 Speaker 2: Let's move to Pittsburgh, where the Steelers are looking to 1313 00:58:09,520 --> 00:58:12,040 Speaker 2: continue their quest twelve and five. 1314 00:58:12,800 --> 00:58:15,479 Speaker 15: They're down on a yard on the nine. Three tight 1315 00:58:15,600 --> 00:58:19,840 Speaker 15: ends Murray under center, Connor behind him, one receiver to 1316 00:58:19,880 --> 00:58:22,680 Speaker 15: the right. They hand it off Connor. 1317 00:58:22,400 --> 00:58:22,919 Speaker 3: To the left. 1318 00:58:22,920 --> 00:58:27,600 Speaker 15: First down, Connor dies for the end zone touchdown. James 1319 00:58:27,680 --> 00:58:32,600 Speaker 15: Connor with two scores and the welcome back party in Pittsburgh. 1320 00:58:32,680 --> 00:58:34,280 Speaker 5: All the Carls just. 1321 00:58:34,320 --> 00:58:37,640 Speaker 8: Broke out the black and blue brigade. 1322 00:58:37,680 --> 00:58:43,000 Speaker 13: Baby light up and suck the beating heart leaf. 1323 00:58:43,520 --> 00:58:46,200 Speaker 8: Speaking of your opponents. 1324 00:58:46,360 --> 00:58:52,720 Speaker 1: Whoa put that to clip it? 1325 00:58:52,840 --> 00:58:55,640 Speaker 2: And I know, Eric, you know when we're saying this, 1326 00:58:55,720 --> 00:58:57,880 Speaker 2: do we have a folder of the top calls of 1327 00:58:57,880 --> 00:59:01,160 Speaker 2: the year. I have a folder because because once again 1328 00:59:01,480 --> 00:59:05,280 Speaker 2: Ron wolf Lee is announcing this is my competition to lose. 1329 00:59:06,320 --> 00:59:12,520 Speaker 2: I like that, he clarified, metaphorically, speaking right. James Connor, 1330 00:59:12,560 --> 00:59:16,920 Speaker 2: the former Steeler, ran for a buck five and two touchdowns, 1331 00:59:16,960 --> 00:59:20,360 Speaker 2: including the game Icer and the Cardinals beat the Steelers 1332 00:59:20,400 --> 00:59:24,280 Speaker 2: twenty four to ten at the field formerly known as Hines. 1333 00:59:24,360 --> 00:59:29,120 Speaker 2: It's their first win in Pittsburgh since the Summer of Love, Mark, which. 1334 00:59:29,040 --> 00:59:31,880 Speaker 9: Was nineteen sixty nine. Well, it depends who you are, but. 1335 00:59:31,920 --> 00:59:37,800 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's correct, and Gregy, I mean, oh soon, come 1336 00:59:37,840 --> 00:59:38,960 Speaker 2: on now, Steelers. 1337 00:59:39,040 --> 00:59:39,520 Speaker 5: We can't. 1338 00:59:39,560 --> 00:59:42,400 Speaker 1: We can't. It can't be December and we're losing games 1339 00:59:42,440 --> 00:59:44,080 Speaker 1: to the tanking card. 1340 00:59:43,880 --> 00:59:46,959 Speaker 4: We can't this for a game that was delayed by 1341 00:59:47,600 --> 00:59:53,080 Speaker 4: lightning multiple times in Pittsburgh in December, come back to us, 1342 00:59:53,160 --> 00:59:53,840 Speaker 4: mother Nature. 1343 00:59:54,800 --> 00:59:57,680 Speaker 2: It's a high desert team flying across the country. They're 1344 00:59:57,720 --> 00:59:59,120 Speaker 2: just looking to get this game over. 1345 00:59:59,000 --> 01:00:01,919 Speaker 4: With right, And at one point was twenty four to three. 1346 01:00:02,000 --> 01:00:05,240 Speaker 4: It was highly entertaining and surprising. Sometimes you watch a 1347 01:00:05,280 --> 01:00:07,920 Speaker 4: game and you're just not expecting it to go a 1348 01:00:07,920 --> 01:00:11,840 Speaker 4: certain way, and late in the second quarter of this game, 1349 01:00:11,960 --> 01:00:15,840 Speaker 4: it was going how we expected that the Steelers had 1350 01:00:15,880 --> 01:00:19,160 Speaker 4: out gained the Cardinals at that point one sixty one 1351 01:00:19,200 --> 01:00:22,360 Speaker 4: to thirty six, and then a two play sequence on 1352 01:00:22,480 --> 01:00:26,400 Speaker 4: the goal line changed everything. Kenny Pickett scrambled trying to 1353 01:00:26,440 --> 01:00:30,240 Speaker 4: score at the four, he got to the one yard line, 1354 01:00:30,600 --> 01:00:33,880 Speaker 4: he hurt his ankle. We're now hearing again that it's 1355 01:00:33,920 --> 01:00:37,160 Speaker 4: a significant injury according to Jerry Dulac, and that he 1356 01:00:37,240 --> 01:00:40,400 Speaker 4: just said not good and that'll miss some time, extended time. 1357 01:00:40,520 --> 01:00:42,440 Speaker 4: So if it's an ankle injury too. 1358 01:00:42,800 --> 01:00:45,920 Speaker 1: He's ducked serious and you just get hurt every few. 1359 01:00:45,720 --> 01:00:48,040 Speaker 4: Weeks and he takes a lot of big hits, so 1360 01:00:48,400 --> 01:00:51,600 Speaker 4: that sounds like a multiple week injury. In comes Trubisky. 1361 01:00:51,840 --> 01:00:54,080 Speaker 4: He hands it off to Nase Harris. It's three to 1362 01:00:54,080 --> 01:00:57,440 Speaker 4: three at the time, even though the Steelers have totally dominated, 1363 01:00:57,480 --> 01:00:58,640 Speaker 4: they hand it to Harris. 1364 01:00:58,800 --> 01:01:00,520 Speaker 1: He gets stoned at the one. 1365 01:01:00,640 --> 01:01:03,480 Speaker 4: Well, at least he got the Steelers defense backed up 1366 01:01:04,040 --> 01:01:06,040 Speaker 4: or playing against the Cardinals, who have ever done anything 1367 01:01:06,080 --> 01:01:09,880 Speaker 4: backed up. Kyler Murray leads one of the most epic 1368 01:01:09,960 --> 01:01:14,120 Speaker 4: drives of the year, fifteen plays, ninety ninety yards for 1369 01:01:14,280 --> 01:01:17,680 Speaker 4: a touchdown, and you know what, Kyler Murray played fantastic 1370 01:01:17,760 --> 01:01:20,120 Speaker 4: the rest of the game. So did James Connor, and 1371 01:01:20,160 --> 01:01:23,280 Speaker 4: they kind of dominated the second half of this game. 1372 01:01:23,720 --> 01:01:26,720 Speaker 4: Trey McBride went wild the second year, tight and eight 1373 01:01:26,760 --> 01:01:27,520 Speaker 4: for eighty. 1374 01:01:27,320 --> 01:01:28,400 Speaker 1: Nine in a touchdown. 1375 01:01:28,480 --> 01:01:31,680 Speaker 4: He dominated that that ninety nine yard drive and I 1376 01:01:31,800 --> 01:01:34,440 Speaker 4: was just floored by how much this game changed in 1377 01:01:34,440 --> 01:01:35,000 Speaker 4: that sequence. 1378 01:01:35,080 --> 01:01:39,040 Speaker 3: That fifteen play touchdown drive was Arizona's longest march since 1379 01:01:39,120 --> 01:01:39,920 Speaker 3: twenty fifteen. 1380 01:01:40,960 --> 01:01:42,919 Speaker 4: That you know what else is it's the longest march 1381 01:01:42,960 --> 01:01:45,919 Speaker 4: in NFL history. I mean yards wides, you can't can't 1382 01:01:45,960 --> 01:01:47,439 Speaker 4: top it. It's tied a bit. 1383 01:01:47,560 --> 01:01:49,240 Speaker 9: And on top it can't beat it. I have a 1384 01:01:49,240 --> 01:01:50,600 Speaker 9: weird stat from this game. 1385 01:01:50,400 --> 01:01:52,680 Speaker 5: Weirder than what Greg just said. I guess that was weird. 1386 01:01:52,840 --> 01:01:54,880 Speaker 9: I think it's I'd say it's less trenches. 1387 01:01:55,040 --> 01:01:55,400 Speaker 5: Okay. 1388 01:01:56,080 --> 01:01:59,200 Speaker 3: Kyler Murray at five to ten in a quarter inches 1389 01:02:00,040 --> 01:02:01,680 Speaker 3: to rondeel Moore, who's five to seven. 1390 01:02:02,240 --> 01:02:04,160 Speaker 1: Their touchdown combination. 1391 01:02:03,960 --> 01:02:08,480 Speaker 3: Is the shortest duo to connect for a touchdown since 1392 01:02:09,280 --> 01:02:12,960 Speaker 3: Pard Pierce, who was five foot five, threw a touchdown 1393 01:02:12,960 --> 01:02:15,720 Speaker 3: to Dutch s Tournament was five foot eight on the 1394 01:02:15,800 --> 01:02:18,280 Speaker 3: nineteen twenty Decatur Staley's I think it was football. 1395 01:02:18,640 --> 01:02:22,000 Speaker 1: Wow, it's a different sport, Gunners. That's pretty good. Although 1396 01:02:22,000 --> 01:02:25,200 Speaker 1: they dead that came from Adam Harstadt and that was 1397 01:02:25,560 --> 01:02:28,560 Speaker 1: fa That was one of my favorite plays and throws 1398 01:02:28,560 --> 01:02:31,160 Speaker 1: of the week, and they actually called it back because 1399 01:02:31,200 --> 01:02:32,000 Speaker 1: of a holding call. 1400 01:02:32,080 --> 01:02:36,080 Speaker 4: But he has thrown touchdowns to rondel Moore in the past, 1401 01:02:36,160 --> 01:02:40,800 Speaker 4: I believe, so that would still be a true statement unless. 1402 01:02:40,520 --> 01:02:43,440 Speaker 3: One of them was much taller when that happened. 1403 01:02:43,440 --> 01:02:44,560 Speaker 1: But yeah, that was Kyler. 1404 01:02:44,600 --> 01:02:45,760 Speaker 4: You look at the box score and you see one 1405 01:02:45,840 --> 01:02:48,040 Speaker 4: hundred and forty five yards on twenty three attempts at 1406 01:02:48,040 --> 01:02:50,160 Speaker 4: a touchdown, you think, okay, it was good game, nothing crazy, 1407 01:02:50,360 --> 01:02:52,160 Speaker 4: but he had two of the best throws I saw 1408 01:02:52,200 --> 01:02:54,640 Speaker 4: a week. One was would have been a sixty yard 1409 01:02:54,640 --> 01:02:57,320 Speaker 4: play to Moore who dropped it, and the other was 1410 01:02:57,320 --> 01:02:59,480 Speaker 4: like a forty yard touchdown to More where Moore made 1411 01:02:59,480 --> 01:03:01,000 Speaker 4: a great play. It was a great throw on the 1412 01:03:01,080 --> 01:03:03,400 Speaker 4: run and it ends up getting called back. And it 1413 01:03:03,440 --> 01:03:06,400 Speaker 4: was very confusing because they never showed flag on the 1414 01:03:06,880 --> 01:03:10,640 Speaker 4: on the broadcast got suddenly they just are lining up again. 1415 01:03:11,080 --> 01:03:12,959 Speaker 9: But wow, they brought us asleep at the wheel. 1416 01:03:13,000 --> 01:03:15,320 Speaker 1: Little James Connor revenge game in Pittsburgh, it was fun. 1417 01:03:16,160 --> 01:03:18,919 Speaker 2: How about Mike Tomlin, who's got to be I mean, 1418 01:03:19,240 --> 01:03:22,400 Speaker 2: we know our boy Mike t the Aviators. He had 1419 01:03:22,440 --> 01:03:25,400 Speaker 2: to be furious with his Steelers laying an egg against 1420 01:03:25,400 --> 01:03:25,840 Speaker 2: the Cards. 1421 01:03:25,920 --> 01:03:28,440 Speaker 5: Let's listen, you know that was a horrible day at 1422 01:03:28,440 --> 01:03:31,919 Speaker 5: the office. We didn't do much right in that game, 1423 01:03:31,960 --> 01:03:33,040 Speaker 5: to be quite honest with you. 1424 01:03:33,360 --> 01:03:36,080 Speaker 13: So we got to own that obviously, starting first and 1425 01:03:36,120 --> 01:03:36,920 Speaker 13: foremost with me. 1426 01:03:38,880 --> 01:03:39,840 Speaker 5: Just losing football. 1427 01:03:41,200 --> 01:03:44,040 Speaker 1: A lot of it was like bad snaps called it JV. 1428 01:03:44,440 --> 01:03:46,240 Speaker 1: He said it was a JV. Performed had a lot 1429 01:03:46,240 --> 01:03:46,960 Speaker 1: of bad penalties. 1430 01:03:47,000 --> 01:03:49,480 Speaker 4: Team, Yeah, they had a lot of big penalties. Nine 1431 01:03:49,520 --> 01:03:51,280 Speaker 4: for seventy seven, and they're usually one of the least 1432 01:03:51,320 --> 01:03:55,360 Speaker 4: penalty teams. They had like three different bad snaps, so 1433 01:03:55,400 --> 01:03:57,760 Speaker 4: you'll see in the box score that Trubisky and Picket 1434 01:03:58,040 --> 01:04:00,200 Speaker 4: both had fumbles, but those were the bad stumps. They 1435 01:04:00,200 --> 01:04:03,080 Speaker 4: lost one, so they set up a short field. Like 1436 01:04:03,360 --> 01:04:06,520 Speaker 4: the Cardinals, touchdowns were often other than the ninety nine 1437 01:04:06,680 --> 01:04:09,320 Speaker 4: yard one. We're on short fields, and yeah, it was 1438 01:04:09,360 --> 01:04:11,720 Speaker 4: just sloppy. Trubisky wasn't great, but he took a couple 1439 01:04:11,680 --> 01:04:14,520 Speaker 4: of shots. He wasn't He wasn't a disaster. It was 1440 01:04:14,560 --> 01:04:17,120 Speaker 4: just they got down fast in a hurry, and JJ 1441 01:04:17,160 --> 01:04:19,000 Speaker 4: Watt went out with an injury. He did say after 1442 01:04:19,040 --> 01:04:21,840 Speaker 4: the game, JJ Watt did our TJ Watt sorry, that 1443 01:04:21,960 --> 01:04:23,960 Speaker 4: he's fine and he'll be playing on Thursday. 1444 01:04:24,000 --> 01:04:24,720 Speaker 5: Yeah, that says. 1445 01:04:25,160 --> 01:04:28,200 Speaker 2: I didn't want to be that guy because you guys 1446 01:04:28,200 --> 01:04:30,640 Speaker 2: are excited about it, but I just couldn't get on 1447 01:04:30,680 --> 01:04:33,720 Speaker 2: board with this Pittsburgh offense turning the corner talk this 1448 01:04:33,760 --> 01:04:36,160 Speaker 2: week and then this game happens and I have to 1449 01:04:36,200 --> 01:04:38,360 Speaker 2: watch it. But it's just like, even when they were 1450 01:04:38,400 --> 01:04:40,440 Speaker 2: putting up more yards, they still weren't scoring points. 1451 01:04:40,440 --> 01:04:42,520 Speaker 1: And once again, they can't. You can't score. 1452 01:04:43,000 --> 01:04:44,880 Speaker 4: Well, I think it was a reminder their running game 1453 01:04:44,960 --> 01:04:47,440 Speaker 4: was working great until the moment they got stuffed on 1454 01:04:47,520 --> 01:04:49,880 Speaker 4: the goal line. But when you suddenly get down two 1455 01:04:49,920 --> 01:04:52,840 Speaker 4: touchdowns like that kind of went out the window. 1456 01:04:53,080 --> 01:04:56,840 Speaker 3: Well that's so called explosion happened against the Bengals team 1457 01:04:56,840 --> 01:04:57,800 Speaker 3: with zero offense. 1458 01:04:57,920 --> 01:05:00,600 Speaker 9: Right now in the defense thought and. 1459 01:05:00,520 --> 01:05:04,120 Speaker 4: It included again sixteen points, as Dan pointed out, normal 1460 01:05:04,360 --> 01:05:07,760 Speaker 4: and uh yeah, this guy, this guy McBride who again 1461 01:05:07,880 --> 01:05:10,360 Speaker 4: for the seventeen people like myself who watched all or 1462 01:05:10,400 --> 01:05:15,320 Speaker 4: Nothing and Trey McBride was featuring out hard knocks in 1463 01:05:15,480 --> 01:05:19,960 Speaker 4: the very likable guy who had very little role last year. 1464 01:05:20,320 --> 01:05:22,640 Speaker 4: I think he is their leading receiver for the season 1465 01:05:22,680 --> 01:05:24,800 Speaker 4: now Dan, which maybe is not a great thing, but 1466 01:05:24,840 --> 01:05:27,080 Speaker 4: he's on pace for over eight hundred yards. That's pretty 1467 01:05:27,080 --> 01:05:28,320 Speaker 4: big time for a tight end. 1468 01:05:28,360 --> 01:05:31,520 Speaker 1: Let's big weapons in the off season. It's hands Mark. 1469 01:05:31,560 --> 01:05:32,960 Speaker 5: We got to to get twelve and five. 1470 01:05:33,000 --> 01:05:35,920 Speaker 2: Now, we got to be Patriots at Indy verse Sincy, 1471 01:05:36,120 --> 01:05:38,080 Speaker 2: at Seahawks, at Ravens, need them all. 1472 01:05:38,800 --> 01:05:41,560 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not gonna happen in the Cardinals. It's not happening. 1473 01:05:42,160 --> 01:05:45,000 Speaker 1: Thank you Cardinals for winning this game and helping out 1474 01:05:45,080 --> 01:05:49,120 Speaker 1: the tankathon exploits of the Patriots. Here, let's take a 1475 01:05:49,160 --> 01:05:51,080 Speaker 1: break and then we'll hit those patriots. 1476 01:05:51,360 --> 01:05:52,000 Speaker 5: Good leading. 1477 01:06:00,080 --> 01:06:03,880 Speaker 1: Think we got something here that's think Welcome back to 1478 01:06:03,960 --> 01:06:05,680 Speaker 1: Around the NFL, the flagship show. 1479 01:06:05,840 --> 01:06:06,760 Speaker 5: Hey, I was thinking. 1480 01:06:08,920 --> 01:06:12,040 Speaker 2: I was thinking because I came into the studio before 1481 01:06:12,040 --> 01:06:15,000 Speaker 2: we started recording, came in a little hot, came in thinking, 1482 01:06:16,640 --> 01:06:19,400 Speaker 2: you know, how if the NFL ever like invested in 1483 01:06:19,520 --> 01:06:21,919 Speaker 2: some type of promotional campaign for our show. 1484 01:06:22,680 --> 01:06:24,360 Speaker 5: Hasn't really happened yet, but doesn't mean. 1485 01:06:24,200 --> 01:06:24,960 Speaker 1: It can't happen. 1486 01:06:25,840 --> 01:06:28,520 Speaker 2: You know, they started to flex our financial might what 1487 01:06:28,640 --> 01:06:30,680 Speaker 2: fifteen billion dollar company? Yeah, all of a sudden they 1488 01:06:30,680 --> 01:06:32,400 Speaker 2: start running ads on Sunday for Around. 1489 01:06:32,160 --> 01:06:33,080 Speaker 1: The That would be fun. 1490 01:06:33,160 --> 01:06:35,040 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure they'll get to that soon. So I 1491 01:06:35,120 --> 01:06:38,640 Speaker 2: just had an idea that popped into my head. Exterior. 1492 01:06:39,200 --> 01:06:42,400 Speaker 2: Two dads at a playground in a park, Okay, okay, 1493 01:06:43,440 --> 01:06:46,920 Speaker 2: And then so dad one's like, oh man, it's so 1494 01:06:47,000 --> 01:06:49,160 Speaker 2: hard to keep up with everything going on in this world, 1495 01:06:49,240 --> 01:06:52,080 Speaker 2: especially in the NFL, you know, because my wife is dead. 1496 01:06:52,320 --> 01:06:54,960 Speaker 2: And then the other guy comes in and their kids 1497 01:06:55,000 --> 01:06:57,200 Speaker 2: are playing in the background, and he's like, well, I 1498 01:06:57,240 --> 01:07:01,880 Speaker 2: got something for you. Other guy's like oh, a new wife. 1499 01:07:01,920 --> 01:07:05,440 Speaker 2: He's like, no, I have the Around the NFL podcast, 1500 01:07:05,520 --> 01:07:08,680 Speaker 2: And then the guy with the dead wife goes, I 1501 01:07:08,720 --> 01:07:12,160 Speaker 2: don't need another show all about x'es and o's of 1502 01:07:12,200 --> 01:07:12,600 Speaker 2: the game. 1503 01:07:12,840 --> 01:07:14,360 Speaker 5: And then the other guy. 1504 01:07:14,240 --> 01:07:19,160 Speaker 2: Goes, Nah, these shows a little more than just about 1505 01:07:19,160 --> 01:07:20,080 Speaker 2: the x'es and o's. 1506 01:07:21,640 --> 01:07:22,360 Speaker 5: End of commercial. 1507 01:07:24,040 --> 01:07:26,640 Speaker 4: I think it also could you could have different versions 1508 01:07:27,400 --> 01:07:32,040 Speaker 4: where like it's all the same except his last line 1509 01:07:32,200 --> 01:07:35,200 Speaker 4: is different, and it's like, actually, these guys have a 1510 01:07:35,240 --> 01:07:36,200 Speaker 4: lot of fun too. 1511 01:07:36,480 --> 01:07:38,360 Speaker 1: That's good, you know what I mean. And so that's 1512 01:07:38,440 --> 01:07:41,760 Speaker 1: that you're building and building different variations, and it's unclear 1513 01:07:41,920 --> 01:07:43,080 Speaker 1: how the wife perished. 1514 01:07:43,640 --> 01:07:45,080 Speaker 2: Well, I was gonna say, you could have a last 1515 01:07:45,120 --> 01:07:47,360 Speaker 2: shot of him being like, well, off to the cemetery. 1516 01:07:47,960 --> 01:07:51,800 Speaker 1: I mean, that seems like a downer. Seems like a downer. 1517 01:07:52,320 --> 01:07:54,320 Speaker 9: I think our show would mask over a lost line. 1518 01:07:54,400 --> 01:07:55,360 Speaker 1: Here's the thing, it's like. 1519 01:07:55,880 --> 01:07:57,680 Speaker 5: That would be that would get people talking. 1520 01:07:58,000 --> 01:08:01,720 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they take they take their jobs really seriously, 1521 01:08:01,880 --> 01:08:04,320 Speaker 1: but they don't take themselves too seriously. 1522 01:08:04,360 --> 01:08:08,240 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, these guys love ball, but it's not just 1523 01:08:08,280 --> 01:08:09,000 Speaker 2: about the ball. 1524 01:08:09,720 --> 01:08:13,960 Speaker 3: They have fun, very organic conversation. It's like yours. It's 1525 01:08:14,000 --> 01:08:16,320 Speaker 3: like you're friends with them. These are like the three 1526 01:08:16,360 --> 01:08:19,599 Speaker 3: buddies in the bar, especially if you're from northern Scotland. 1527 01:08:21,000 --> 01:08:24,479 Speaker 1: There's Scotland coming up again on the show Great Country 1528 01:08:25,120 --> 01:08:27,120 Speaker 1: that anyone's listening from the ad department? 1529 01:08:27,280 --> 01:08:30,879 Speaker 3: Just why have they never why have they never invested 1530 01:08:30,920 --> 01:08:34,400 Speaker 3: even a penny on our shows before? 1531 01:08:35,120 --> 01:08:40,360 Speaker 2: I've never heard anything anything from the third floor. Maybe 1532 01:08:40,400 --> 01:08:41,000 Speaker 2: that's for the best. 1533 01:08:41,040 --> 01:08:45,680 Speaker 1: All right, let's head to Foxborough where the bizarre misery continued. 1534 01:08:45,680 --> 01:08:49,360 Speaker 1: For Greg's patriots Herbert to throw. 1535 01:08:51,000 --> 01:08:57,080 Speaker 12: As a man, it's the game, Alex Erickson. 1536 01:08:58,080 --> 01:09:00,320 Speaker 1: When the game demanded, excel. 1537 01:09:01,960 --> 01:09:09,280 Speaker 12: Etta, do not shrink when the lights are the brightest. 1538 01:09:09,560 --> 01:09:13,160 Speaker 12: He puts the ball in his most valuable weapons hands 1539 01:09:13,200 --> 01:09:15,839 Speaker 12: and justin Herbert delivers the victory. 1540 01:09:16,120 --> 01:09:17,040 Speaker 1: Put that on the list. 1541 01:09:17,240 --> 01:09:17,800 Speaker 5: That's pretty good. 1542 01:09:17,840 --> 01:09:20,479 Speaker 2: You gotta know money like you got a chance to 1543 01:09:20,520 --> 01:09:22,600 Speaker 2: work with money for a few years of powering. The 1544 01:09:22,640 --> 01:09:25,439 Speaker 2: man's got a keen sense of humor and a dry wit. 1545 01:09:26,040 --> 01:09:30,040 Speaker 2: You could you could hear the sarcasm pulsing through that call. 1546 01:09:30,920 --> 01:09:34,360 Speaker 2: And again, also, if you're gonna put any other guy 1547 01:09:34,400 --> 01:09:37,280 Speaker 2: from San Diego too, If you're gonna put you're gonna 1548 01:09:37,320 --> 01:09:39,280 Speaker 2: take money out of seal beach where he's doing his 1549 01:09:39,320 --> 01:09:42,120 Speaker 2: surfing at six am, and you're gonna put him on 1550 01:09:42,160 --> 01:09:44,480 Speaker 2: a plane and send him to New England in December 1551 01:09:44,800 --> 01:09:47,320 Speaker 2: for this nothing burger of a game. At least get 1552 01:09:47,320 --> 01:09:50,960 Speaker 2: a w Chargers and they do as Cameron Dicker made 1553 01:09:50,960 --> 01:09:56,000 Speaker 2: two thirty eight yard field goals Hunter JK. Scott, Oh, 1554 01:09:56,080 --> 01:09:58,120 Speaker 2: he's been in the Pats inside the twenty all day, 1555 01:09:58,120 --> 01:10:03,120 Speaker 2: seven times in the in the and rain, and Herbert 1556 01:10:03,200 --> 01:10:10,840 Speaker 2: picked up that late completion. Mark Sessler six nothing the final, WHOA. 1557 01:10:09,840 --> 01:10:13,400 Speaker 1: This was the worst football game I've ever watched? 1558 01:10:13,600 --> 01:10:13,800 Speaker 5: Is it? 1559 01:10:13,840 --> 01:10:14,120 Speaker 1: Wow? 1560 01:10:14,800 --> 01:10:15,400 Speaker 5: Six nothing? 1561 01:10:15,439 --> 01:10:17,000 Speaker 1: Two field goals, two short field goals. 1562 01:10:17,080 --> 01:10:19,640 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's I'd say from a distance, I'd kind of 1563 01:10:20,360 --> 01:10:22,080 Speaker 3: be into that kind of a game because it stands 1564 01:10:22,080 --> 01:10:24,240 Speaker 3: out is something very usual dog type of game. 1565 01:10:24,280 --> 01:10:25,680 Speaker 1: You're right unwatchable. 1566 01:10:26,120 --> 01:10:29,439 Speaker 3: How so, Bailey Zappi is in there, Yon Uh is 1567 01:10:29,439 --> 01:10:32,400 Speaker 3: a worse than Mac Jones. I think it's hard to 1568 01:10:32,439 --> 01:10:35,800 Speaker 3: detect who is worse because there's also nothing around them. 1569 01:10:36,040 --> 01:10:36,120 Speaker 10: Uh. 1570 01:10:36,160 --> 01:10:39,320 Speaker 3: They lost Formandri Stevenson with an ankleer injury pretty early 1571 01:10:39,360 --> 01:10:40,960 Speaker 3: in this and that's really all they seem to have. 1572 01:10:41,560 --> 01:10:46,559 Speaker 3: I thought Zappi's day was characterized by a pretty great 1573 01:10:47,200 --> 01:10:50,000 Speaker 3: deep shot in the third quarter the trailing six nothing 1574 01:10:51,320 --> 01:10:54,160 Speaker 3: horrible drop by Tykwon Thornton. It's like they just can't 1575 01:10:54,200 --> 01:10:58,360 Speaker 3: get anything done. The Patriots defense looked good because that's 1576 01:10:58,560 --> 01:11:02,080 Speaker 3: the Chargers. The Chargers are spiralingly a little on offense. 1577 01:11:02,080 --> 01:11:04,759 Speaker 3: They cannot run the ball, they have no balance the Patriots. 1578 01:11:04,840 --> 01:11:07,280 Speaker 3: This is a This is a wacky stat They are 1579 01:11:07,320 --> 01:11:10,799 Speaker 3: the first team to lose three straight games despite allowing 1580 01:11:10,840 --> 01:11:14,120 Speaker 3: ten or fewer points in those three games since go 1581 01:11:14,200 --> 01:11:17,880 Speaker 3: back to nineteen thirty eight to the Chicago Cardinals. Every 1582 01:11:17,920 --> 01:11:20,880 Speaker 3: other team this year that has allowed fewer than ten 1583 01:11:20,960 --> 01:11:24,080 Speaker 3: ten or fewer points is fifty three and zero. That 1584 01:11:24,160 --> 01:11:27,920 Speaker 3: this offense is so bad. Three yeah, this offense is 1585 01:11:27,960 --> 01:11:31,680 Speaker 3: so bad. They're so unwatchable. And yet I kind of think, 1586 01:11:31,720 --> 01:11:33,479 Speaker 3: I mean, I guess we don't know where anyone where 1587 01:11:33,479 --> 01:11:35,360 Speaker 3: Belichick will be after all that. It's like what they 1588 01:11:35,360 --> 01:11:37,720 Speaker 3: did last year by or last week by you know, 1589 01:11:37,800 --> 01:11:41,000 Speaker 3: I think overtly missing that final field goal and try 1590 01:11:41,080 --> 01:11:43,240 Speaker 3: to miss I don't know, I you. 1591 01:11:43,320 --> 01:11:46,760 Speaker 1: Know, weren't playing for the win. That remains like the 1592 01:11:46,800 --> 01:11:47,360 Speaker 1: jury is out. 1593 01:11:47,400 --> 01:11:50,400 Speaker 3: In my opinion on that, that was drastic. I mean, 1594 01:11:51,000 --> 01:11:53,240 Speaker 3: it's kind of working out perfectly. They're so bad that 1595 01:11:53,280 --> 01:11:55,679 Speaker 3: they're probably gonna guess get snagged the number one number. 1596 01:11:56,160 --> 01:11:58,919 Speaker 2: And I'll take it a step further. Everyone's connecting Belichick 1597 01:11:59,000 --> 01:12:01,799 Speaker 2: to the Chargers. I don't know whether there's actual logic 1598 01:12:01,840 --> 01:12:05,040 Speaker 2: to it, Well, there's logic but actual smoke to it, 1599 01:12:04,880 --> 01:12:05,839 Speaker 2: or if there's. 1600 01:12:05,680 --> 01:12:06,599 Speaker 5: Fire to it or what. 1601 01:12:06,800 --> 01:12:10,200 Speaker 2: But not only did you lose again, and it's it's 1602 01:12:10,320 --> 01:12:14,280 Speaker 2: remarkable how badly this season has gone. I never thought 1603 01:12:14,280 --> 01:12:17,400 Speaker 2: it could get this bad for Bill belichicking doing because no, 1604 01:12:17,760 --> 01:12:19,519 Speaker 2: and I'm not I don't even want to go down 1605 01:12:19,520 --> 01:12:21,720 Speaker 2: the road of like if he's really the greatest coach 1606 01:12:21,720 --> 01:12:23,519 Speaker 2: of all time, how could this be happening, because there's 1607 01:12:23,520 --> 01:12:26,000 Speaker 2: a lot of things going on here. But like you know, 1608 01:12:26,520 --> 01:12:29,360 Speaker 2: he also made the Chargers look bad again in its 1609 01:12:29,400 --> 01:12:31,680 Speaker 2: own way, So it's another nail and the coffin of 1610 01:12:31,680 --> 01:12:34,160 Speaker 2: Brandon Stalley despite getting the win in a way, so 1611 01:12:34,240 --> 01:12:35,759 Speaker 2: the conspiracy theories continue. 1612 01:12:35,800 --> 01:12:38,400 Speaker 1: Yeah, I went to Renferral, like wo Staley's defense just 1613 01:12:38,439 --> 01:12:39,200 Speaker 1: pitched the shutout. 1614 01:12:39,240 --> 01:12:40,920 Speaker 3: No, so that's a thing like that is it's not 1615 01:12:41,000 --> 01:12:44,080 Speaker 3: all negative because I like I'm losing hope in their offense. 1616 01:12:44,720 --> 01:12:46,519 Speaker 9: Quentin Johnson another terrible drop today. 1617 01:12:46,520 --> 01:12:47,880 Speaker 1: Oh that was awful. 1618 01:12:47,960 --> 01:12:49,439 Speaker 3: I mean, if it's happening every week, so I don't 1619 01:12:49,479 --> 01:12:50,880 Speaker 3: know if it's there's no new story there. 1620 01:12:50,880 --> 01:12:53,360 Speaker 1: But Khalil Mack had two more secks. He has fifty. 1621 01:12:53,400 --> 01:12:55,320 Speaker 1: He leads the NFL with fifty. 1622 01:12:55,600 --> 01:12:58,679 Speaker 2: When I saw that on Twitter, I was thinking to myself, Okay, 1623 01:12:58,720 --> 01:13:00,880 Speaker 2: we know he had that insane when he had seven, 1624 01:13:01,439 --> 01:13:04,559 Speaker 2: So that's always gonna juice it. But he has a 1625 01:13:04,680 --> 01:13:08,240 Speaker 2: chance to challenge for the all time sack record Khalil Mack, 1626 01:13:08,400 --> 01:13:11,800 Speaker 2: he's twenty three, Yeah, that could happen. He certainly could 1627 01:13:11,880 --> 01:13:14,360 Speaker 2: challenge for a twenty sex season, which only about what 1628 01:13:14,479 --> 01:13:15,360 Speaker 2: twenty guys or whatever. 1629 01:13:15,600 --> 01:13:17,360 Speaker 4: All he's got to do is play Zappi and Indan 1630 01:13:17,400 --> 01:13:20,320 Speaker 4: O'Connell every week and he'll he'll get it done because Zappy, 1631 01:13:20,520 --> 01:13:22,559 Speaker 4: the little I watched, was just holding onto the ball 1632 01:13:22,600 --> 01:13:27,519 Speaker 4: forever on some of those plays. But this still fifteen sacks, No, Still, 1633 01:13:27,600 --> 01:13:30,880 Speaker 4: he has been third. He's been fantastic this year. That 1634 01:13:31,160 --> 01:13:33,080 Speaker 4: the thing that gets me, and it happened these last 1635 01:13:33,120 --> 01:13:36,679 Speaker 4: two weeks with this team is Belichick has spent more 1636 01:13:36,720 --> 01:13:40,160 Speaker 4: money and more time and he's so worried about the details, 1637 01:13:40,160 --> 01:13:43,000 Speaker 4: and he invests in all these special teams only players, 1638 01:13:43,240 --> 01:13:46,080 Speaker 4: and their special teams are terrible, their bottom five and 1639 01:13:46,160 --> 01:13:48,720 Speaker 4: Dvoa their kicker who they drafted and got rid of 1640 01:13:48,720 --> 01:13:52,000 Speaker 4: focus terrible. And then every other time I was I 1641 01:13:52,040 --> 01:13:54,880 Speaker 4: looked at this game, you got Bryce Behringer, who's one 1642 01:13:54,920 --> 01:13:57,439 Speaker 4: of the worst punters in the league. Bryce Behringer, who's 1643 01:13:57,439 --> 01:14:00,759 Speaker 4: another rookie punter who they also drafted. The drafted a punter, 1644 01:14:00,880 --> 01:14:03,960 Speaker 4: and the kickers, and like the difference in punting in 1645 01:14:04,000 --> 01:14:07,559 Speaker 4: this game and the kicker, like, it's just if you've 1646 01:14:07,560 --> 01:14:09,800 Speaker 4: lost that with Belichick. I know the defense has been 1647 01:14:09,800 --> 01:14:13,320 Speaker 4: playing well, and yeah they have been. Uh it's still 1648 01:14:13,320 --> 01:14:13,639 Speaker 4: not good. 1649 01:14:13,720 --> 01:14:16,880 Speaker 5: But we could save this conversation. 1650 01:14:16,920 --> 01:14:19,080 Speaker 1: But how is it? 1651 01:14:19,400 --> 01:14:22,360 Speaker 2: How is Bill Belichick presiding over something this truly dreadful? 1652 01:14:22,800 --> 01:14:24,880 Speaker 2: How has this happened? How could it happen? 1653 01:14:25,320 --> 01:14:30,920 Speaker 4: Well, it's been in the same place, and he has 1654 01:14:31,000 --> 01:14:33,800 Speaker 4: no checks on his power. And the few people that 1655 01:14:35,000 --> 01:14:37,680 Speaker 4: maybe not had checks on his power, but would you know, 1656 01:14:37,960 --> 01:14:41,160 Speaker 4: answer to him or like have some power in the organization. 1657 01:14:41,160 --> 01:14:43,800 Speaker 1: They're all they're all long gone. Nick Casserio, he's long gone, 1658 01:14:43,840 --> 01:14:46,400 Speaker 1: Like they're all Tom Brady's long gone of course as well, 1659 01:14:46,439 --> 01:14:50,160 Speaker 1: that's for a long time. Yes, let's hear from Bill Belichick. 1660 01:14:50,200 --> 01:14:53,160 Speaker 2: Awkward press conferences are the norm, and now you know 1661 01:14:53,200 --> 01:14:56,679 Speaker 2: he's forced to answer these questions about his own job security. 1662 01:14:57,280 --> 01:14:59,320 Speaker 1: Bill, do you want to stay here and keep coaching 1663 01:14:59,360 --> 01:14:59,920 Speaker 1: the Patriots? 1664 01:15:00,960 --> 01:15:04,080 Speaker 5: I look forward to this weekend right for a Steelers 1665 01:15:04,760 --> 01:15:05,040 Speaker 5: read that. 1666 01:15:05,880 --> 01:15:09,240 Speaker 2: You know that's kind of a Bill answer, But it 1667 01:15:09,320 --> 01:15:10,600 Speaker 2: all feels like the beginning. 1668 01:15:10,280 --> 01:15:10,599 Speaker 5: Of the end. 1669 01:15:10,720 --> 01:15:14,240 Speaker 3: You and I are getting Steelers Patriots on Thursday nights in. 1670 01:15:14,439 --> 01:15:18,040 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a little trubisky zapp dog. How about this? 1671 01:15:18,439 --> 01:15:23,120 Speaker 2: The world is getting Jets Patriots in week eighteen. It's 1672 01:15:23,160 --> 01:15:28,599 Speaker 2: not like many people watch at the Earth like ready 1673 01:15:28,640 --> 01:15:30,880 Speaker 2: to eviscerate everything that lives upon it. 1674 01:15:31,600 --> 01:15:32,400 Speaker 1: I take the medior. 1675 01:15:33,000 --> 01:15:36,000 Speaker 4: By the way, the Chargers in the AFC at five 1676 01:15:36,040 --> 01:15:39,639 Speaker 4: and seven are two games back of a playoff spot. 1677 01:15:39,720 --> 01:15:42,680 Speaker 4: You can't totally ax them out. But if they were 1678 01:15:42,680 --> 01:15:44,920 Speaker 4: in the NFC, it'd say they'd have a chance. In 1679 01:15:44,960 --> 01:15:47,880 Speaker 4: the AFC, two games back with five games to play 1680 01:15:47,880 --> 01:15:49,400 Speaker 4: and a lot of teams to hop is a lot. 1681 01:15:49,439 --> 01:15:50,160 Speaker 5: But can't do that. 1682 01:15:50,680 --> 01:15:53,120 Speaker 1: They have to just win out essentially and go there, 1683 01:15:53,120 --> 01:15:54,920 Speaker 1: which they will not be doing they will not be 1684 01:15:55,080 --> 01:15:56,080 Speaker 1: doing that. Most likely. 1685 01:15:56,240 --> 01:15:58,120 Speaker 3: We're in that of the year where we have these 1686 01:15:58,120 --> 01:16:01,360 Speaker 3: conversations and you're just waiting for the slow crawl of 1687 01:16:01,400 --> 01:16:03,920 Speaker 3: time to remove these teams permanently and mathematically. 1688 01:16:04,360 --> 01:16:08,200 Speaker 2: All right, let's head to Tampa where the Panthers and 1689 01:16:08,240 --> 01:16:10,440 Speaker 2: Bucks did battle in the downpour. 1690 01:16:12,080 --> 01:16:14,800 Speaker 11: The snap of Goodwin bell Hide dropping to throw Bryce 1691 01:16:14,880 --> 01:16:16,760 Speaker 11: Young flushed out of the pocket, flushed down the holds 1692 01:16:16,800 --> 01:16:19,719 Speaker 11: the ball upfield. It is in a sap that packed 1693 01:16:19,800 --> 01:16:24,000 Speaker 11: pop with the forty three yard line and John magnificent 1694 01:16:24,080 --> 01:16:28,960 Speaker 11: Antwuan wentfield want he was up. The whole hung theel 1695 01:16:29,080 --> 01:16:31,840 Speaker 11: was an inn second shaster down to the sideline and 1696 01:16:32,040 --> 01:16:34,280 Speaker 11: Young those a pick and the Bucks. 1697 01:16:33,920 --> 01:16:40,080 Speaker 1: Happened the Great Jean decker Hoff with a call. 1698 01:16:39,840 --> 01:16:41,280 Speaker 5: Yes, Antoine Winfield. 1699 01:16:42,000 --> 01:16:45,000 Speaker 2: When it looked as if the Panthers could somehow find 1700 01:16:45,040 --> 01:16:50,280 Speaker 2: a way, Bryce Young threw it up for grabs. Winfield 1701 01:16:50,320 --> 01:16:51,960 Speaker 2: came away from the ball with the ball through the 1702 01:16:52,160 --> 01:16:55,360 Speaker 2: from the sideline, steps from the sideline, and the Buccaneers 1703 01:16:55,479 --> 01:16:58,240 Speaker 2: escape with a twenty one to eighteen. 1704 01:16:57,880 --> 01:16:59,920 Speaker 5: Win over the Mori Bun. 1705 01:17:00,120 --> 01:17:06,320 Speaker 2: The Carolina Panthers, playing their first game without Frank Reich. 1706 01:17:06,920 --> 01:17:09,400 Speaker 5: So what to take away from this game. 1707 01:17:09,520 --> 01:17:11,280 Speaker 1: First of all, let's let's look on Mike Evans. 1708 01:17:12,439 --> 01:17:14,960 Speaker 2: Just when this game appeared to be slipping away from 1709 01:17:14,960 --> 01:17:18,519 Speaker 2: the Bucks and Baker was having a miserable game, he 1710 01:17:18,640 --> 01:17:22,360 Speaker 2: was averaging like four yards. In attempt, he hits Evans 1711 01:17:22,720 --> 01:17:26,760 Speaker 2: over the middle. Evans goes down the sideline like a 1712 01:17:26,800 --> 01:17:30,840 Speaker 2: house on fire. He dives toward the pylon. They mark 1713 01:17:30,920 --> 01:17:33,800 Speaker 2: him down at the one, as the officials often were today, 1714 01:17:33,800 --> 01:17:37,240 Speaker 2: they were wrong. He actually cleared the pylon and upon review, 1715 01:17:37,560 --> 01:17:41,080 Speaker 2: he gets credited with the touchdown as he deserves seventy 1716 01:17:41,080 --> 01:17:45,040 Speaker 2: five yards. Changed the game, got everybody back in line, 1717 01:17:45,080 --> 01:17:48,320 Speaker 2: and gave Baker a stat line that you wouldn't be 1718 01:17:48,320 --> 01:17:51,519 Speaker 2: afraid to show to your family. Evans finished with seven 1719 01:17:51,600 --> 01:17:55,920 Speaker 2: for one sixty two. He is now over one thousand yards. 1720 01:17:56,479 --> 01:17:59,479 Speaker 2: He has now gone over one thousand yards for ten 1721 01:17:59,640 --> 01:18:04,240 Speaker 2: concent executive seasons. Jerry Rice has the record of eleven 1722 01:18:04,280 --> 01:18:07,800 Speaker 2: straight seasons. Wild and It's funny. I think it was 1723 01:18:07,880 --> 01:18:12,240 Speaker 2: Nick Westling who texted me at the beginning of the 1724 01:18:12,360 --> 01:18:14,920 Speaker 2: year and says, like Mike Evans doesn't get enough respect. 1725 01:18:14,960 --> 01:18:16,960 Speaker 2: He should be in the Superstar club. Look what this 1726 01:18:17,000 --> 01:18:21,040 Speaker 2: guy's done. And the interesting thing about Evans' career is 1727 01:18:21,360 --> 01:18:23,719 Speaker 2: he's gone over one thousands. I just said, every single 1728 01:18:23,800 --> 01:18:27,240 Speaker 2: year for a decade. He has ten touchdowns this year, 1729 01:18:27,600 --> 01:18:29,680 Speaker 2: doesn't matter who the quarterback is. And he had that 1730 01:18:29,720 --> 01:18:32,360 Speaker 2: golden period with Brady, but he's also played with a 1731 01:18:32,360 --> 01:18:35,960 Speaker 2: lot of ham and Eggers, Mark and Baker is you know, 1732 01:18:36,120 --> 01:18:38,360 Speaker 2: kind of on the upper scale of that type of 1733 01:18:38,360 --> 01:18:41,720 Speaker 2: group of quarterback. He is just an incredible player. So 1734 01:18:41,760 --> 01:18:43,720 Speaker 2: I don't know if he's a superstar, but I think 1735 01:18:43,720 --> 01:18:44,840 Speaker 2: he's a Hall of Famer right. 1736 01:18:44,760 --> 01:18:47,800 Speaker 3: Because, I mean, you know, literally, Jerry Rice is one 1737 01:18:47,800 --> 01:18:49,040 Speaker 3: of the greatest players of all time. 1738 01:18:49,040 --> 01:18:51,160 Speaker 9: But Jerry Rice had great quarterback play. 1739 01:18:50,960 --> 01:18:52,880 Speaker 1: Around him, and he didn't do it to art the career. 1740 01:18:52,960 --> 01:18:55,400 Speaker 4: This is a record in terms of starting his career that, 1741 01:18:55,520 --> 01:18:58,080 Speaker 4: like Evans, is just way ahead of anyone else. 1742 01:18:58,160 --> 01:19:00,599 Speaker 3: I think one thing about Evans this year's simply because 1743 01:19:00,600 --> 01:19:03,479 Speaker 3: I remember they were just an unwatchable mess on offense 1744 01:19:03,560 --> 01:19:05,679 Speaker 3: for much of last season and it was like tons 1745 01:19:05,760 --> 01:19:08,320 Speaker 3: Tom Brady and Tom Brady and Evans were not on 1746 01:19:08,320 --> 01:19:11,360 Speaker 3: the same page. When Baker's been good, I mean, Baker 1747 01:19:11,400 --> 01:19:14,320 Speaker 3: and Evans have had a pretty good connection from wire 1748 01:19:14,360 --> 01:19:16,880 Speaker 3: to wire this season, and it's just another example of 1749 01:19:16,920 --> 01:19:20,360 Speaker 3: like Evans adjusting to whatever's around him and being that consistent. 1750 01:19:20,040 --> 01:19:23,240 Speaker 4: Right, and he could he I think he only topped 1751 01:19:23,479 --> 01:19:26,080 Speaker 4: fourteen hundred yards once. He had a fifteen hundred yard 1752 01:19:26,080 --> 01:19:28,040 Speaker 4: season in twenty eighteen. I mean, he's got a chance 1753 01:19:28,040 --> 01:19:30,000 Speaker 4: to even get there this year. He's in a contracts 1754 01:19:30,040 --> 01:19:32,280 Speaker 4: on pace for about fourteen hundred yards. Yeah, he's in 1755 01:19:32,320 --> 01:19:35,960 Speaker 4: a contract year. Between him and Winfield, they actually have 1756 01:19:36,000 --> 01:19:38,040 Speaker 4: two teams, two guys that have a chance. 1757 01:19:38,640 --> 01:19:39,919 Speaker 1: Evans probably isn't gonna. 1758 01:19:39,680 --> 01:19:42,599 Speaker 4: Make All Pro because the receivers so tough to make that, 1759 01:19:43,080 --> 01:19:45,240 Speaker 4: but I think Winfield has a chance. I really have 1760 01:19:45,360 --> 01:19:47,920 Speaker 4: just been so impressed by Winfield each and every week. 1761 01:19:48,240 --> 01:19:50,120 Speaker 4: He had a sack, two tackles for the lost three 1762 01:19:50,160 --> 01:19:52,680 Speaker 4: passes defense, He had the interception eight times. I just 1763 01:19:52,720 --> 01:19:55,480 Speaker 4: haven't seen a more impactful safety. So that's been a weekly. 1764 01:19:55,200 --> 01:19:55,720 Speaker 1: Thing with him. 1765 01:19:55,720 --> 01:19:58,479 Speaker 2: He is Evans, and we'll move off Evans, but he 1766 01:19:58,560 --> 01:20:00,960 Speaker 2: is an interesting player, and he's kind of the fascinating 1767 01:20:01,000 --> 01:20:03,400 Speaker 2: greg when you get to your free agency one oh one. Yeah, 1768 01:20:03,439 --> 01:20:06,040 Speaker 2: I think age thirty one season, one of the most 1769 01:20:06,080 --> 01:20:08,080 Speaker 2: consistent players in the history of the sport, Like, what 1770 01:20:08,400 --> 01:20:10,040 Speaker 2: kind of market would he have Anyway? 1771 01:20:10,040 --> 01:20:13,719 Speaker 5: The Bucks in the NFC South, which is bad. 1772 01:20:13,840 --> 01:20:16,559 Speaker 2: As we've stated, that was only the second win for 1773 01:20:16,600 --> 01:20:18,439 Speaker 2: Tampa Bay in the last eight games, but now that 1774 01:20:18,520 --> 01:20:21,120 Speaker 2: they are in a tie for second place in the division, 1775 01:20:21,240 --> 01:20:25,400 Speaker 2: so they are in the mix. And it wasn't always 1776 01:20:25,400 --> 01:20:28,000 Speaker 2: pretty in this game, but they got the job done 1777 01:20:28,080 --> 01:20:31,200 Speaker 2: on the other side of the ball. No Basachia bump 1778 01:20:31,240 --> 01:20:35,640 Speaker 2: here for the Panthers, who were competitive in the rainy conditions, 1779 01:20:35,680 --> 01:20:39,679 Speaker 2: but they're still just you're not seeing anything with this offense. 1780 01:20:39,720 --> 01:20:41,479 Speaker 2: Chuba Hubbard did some things, got in the end zone 1781 01:20:41,479 --> 01:20:43,800 Speaker 2: twice for him, but I just just don't see it. 1782 01:20:43,840 --> 01:20:45,880 Speaker 2: I have this theory that I'm working on. I'm work 1783 01:20:45,920 --> 01:20:49,080 Speaker 2: shopping that Bryce Young is getting one in shorter every 1784 01:20:49,120 --> 01:20:51,760 Speaker 2: week now, so now he's about five or six at 1785 01:20:52,000 --> 01:20:55,160 Speaker 2: the top many more weeks. The pocket feels impossibly muddy 1786 01:20:55,520 --> 01:20:58,160 Speaker 2: around him. And there was one play in this game 1787 01:20:58,200 --> 01:21:00,800 Speaker 2: where the rush was coming, he kind of just turned 1788 01:21:00,800 --> 01:21:02,640 Speaker 2: and threw it behind him and it bounced that a 1789 01:21:02,680 --> 01:21:05,880 Speaker 2: bounds for a fumble and earths like there was another 1790 01:21:05,920 --> 01:21:07,439 Speaker 2: play it was a big I believe it was a 1791 01:21:07,479 --> 01:21:09,280 Speaker 2: third down where it was very clear he had to 1792 01:21:09,360 --> 01:21:11,640 Speaker 2: check out of a play and he doesn't, and they 1793 01:21:11,720 --> 01:21:14,160 Speaker 2: run right into a big loss where they're showing a 1794 01:21:14,160 --> 01:21:16,760 Speaker 2: blitz and he just doesn't see it. So whoever it 1795 01:21:16,840 --> 01:21:19,280 Speaker 2: is that's tasked with kind of getting him on the 1796 01:21:19,360 --> 01:21:21,400 Speaker 2: right track, he just has They have a lot of work. 1797 01:21:21,479 --> 01:21:23,360 Speaker 3: Well, it's a lost year and it's like it's gonna 1798 01:21:23,360 --> 01:21:25,479 Speaker 3: be an off season of a billion storylines about how 1799 01:21:25,479 --> 01:21:27,679 Speaker 3: now he feels comfortable and it's it's a new start. 1800 01:21:27,720 --> 01:21:29,160 Speaker 9: I mean, it's it's been a rough spot. 1801 01:21:29,160 --> 01:21:33,479 Speaker 3: But like I thought that final, that fourth down game ender, 1802 01:21:33,640 --> 01:21:35,599 Speaker 3: like he had a chance to if he were little, 1803 01:21:35,640 --> 01:21:37,880 Speaker 3: if he were reacting more quickly to hit Adam Feeling 1804 01:21:38,360 --> 01:21:40,520 Speaker 3: it was like it shouldn't have happened the way it happened. 1805 01:21:40,240 --> 01:21:42,920 Speaker 1: Like it was just anothers right, somebody's just. 1806 01:21:42,920 --> 01:21:44,479 Speaker 3: Sort of like not really, there's not a part of 1807 01:21:44,479 --> 01:21:46,200 Speaker 3: it where you see. It's crazy to me that he 1808 01:21:46,280 --> 01:21:47,880 Speaker 3: outdueled if that's how you want to put it. 1809 01:21:48,000 --> 01:21:48,280 Speaker 5: C J. 1810 01:21:48,439 --> 01:21:49,920 Speaker 3: Stroud in the one time they met, like it was 1811 01:21:50,000 --> 01:21:51,559 Speaker 3: like the most atypical. 1812 01:21:51,080 --> 01:21:52,640 Speaker 5: Game duel that strong. 1813 01:21:52,720 --> 01:21:54,679 Speaker 1: You know, to go and have won that game. 1814 01:21:54,720 --> 01:21:55,840 Speaker 9: It feels like four years ago. 1815 01:21:55,920 --> 01:21:58,880 Speaker 1: It's out played slightly. I would I would say best game. 1816 01:21:58,920 --> 01:22:01,799 Speaker 1: I think usually out duled is like two y athletes 1817 01:22:01,840 --> 01:22:04,000 Speaker 1: playing on a high fifty the other. 1818 01:22:04,160 --> 01:22:05,880 Speaker 4: I could be wrong. I don't think the Panthers scored 1819 01:22:05,920 --> 01:22:08,000 Speaker 4: a touchdown in that game. I believe they won with 1820 01:22:08,080 --> 01:22:10,559 Speaker 4: five field goals. But I was getting a lot of 1821 01:22:10,560 --> 01:22:12,960 Speaker 4: texts that you mentioned they didn't get the Bassachia bump. 1822 01:22:13,320 --> 01:22:15,920 Speaker 4: But according to our friend Spice Rack, the fired coach 1823 01:22:16,000 --> 01:22:21,120 Speaker 4: principal at least in terms of the desert is nine 1824 01:22:21,160 --> 01:22:22,439 Speaker 4: and oh since September twenty O. 1825 01:22:22,640 --> 01:22:23,880 Speaker 1: I can't I can't fact check. 1826 01:22:23,880 --> 01:22:27,840 Speaker 4: This mean he's including, he's including college, but Carolina kept 1827 01:22:27,880 --> 01:22:28,960 Speaker 4: it closer than expected. 1828 01:22:29,040 --> 01:22:30,559 Speaker 1: It is my point here, you. 1829 01:22:30,560 --> 01:22:32,800 Speaker 2: Don't get credit for the bassac bump when you lose. Now, 1830 01:22:32,880 --> 01:22:35,519 Speaker 2: this isn't We're not all in the desert. Okay, Now 1831 01:22:35,920 --> 01:22:38,080 Speaker 2: that's for teams that win after the firing. 1832 01:22:38,200 --> 01:22:40,720 Speaker 4: I do want to use his comparison ails who win, 1833 01:22:41,240 --> 01:22:43,559 Speaker 4: because he was going nuts because he wanted the Panthers 1834 01:22:43,600 --> 01:22:45,559 Speaker 4: to do better and win this game, and at one 1835 01:22:45,600 --> 01:22:48,680 Speaker 4: point the fire, he was on fire, comparing Young to 1836 01:22:48,800 --> 01:22:52,760 Speaker 4: Bryce Young in terms of his body language, saying it 1837 01:22:52,800 --> 01:22:57,439 Speaker 4: was identical Bryce Young to Achilles Smith was his comparisons, 1838 01:22:57,479 --> 01:23:01,080 Speaker 4: but he wants to be anywhere by here. I will 1839 01:23:01,120 --> 01:23:03,920 Speaker 4: just push back just just a little slightly, which is 1840 01:23:04,000 --> 01:23:06,840 Speaker 4: just it reminds me a little bit, maybe because they're 1841 01:23:06,880 --> 01:23:09,800 Speaker 4: all number one picks. Alex Smith's rookie season was the 1842 01:23:09,840 --> 01:23:14,000 Speaker 4: worst top pick or really rookie pick I've ever seen, 1843 01:23:14,160 --> 01:23:16,519 Speaker 4: and he bounced back pretty quick to be okay. 1844 01:23:17,040 --> 01:23:19,080 Speaker 1: And Eli and Jared Goff were close. 1845 01:23:19,160 --> 01:23:21,519 Speaker 4: So all those guys were in a similar situation where 1846 01:23:21,520 --> 01:23:25,280 Speaker 4: they they showed almost no bright spots their entire rookie season. 1847 01:23:25,280 --> 01:23:27,200 Speaker 1: So it's it's happened before. 1848 01:23:26,960 --> 01:23:29,680 Speaker 3: There's something else here though, Like, yeah, you're right, and 1849 01:23:29,720 --> 01:23:32,280 Speaker 3: it's like there needs to be patients. But I really 1850 01:23:32,840 --> 01:23:35,160 Speaker 3: watch Bryce Young and feel like, to your point, Dan, 1851 01:23:35,240 --> 01:23:37,160 Speaker 3: like he plays small, and it's like, I don't know 1852 01:23:37,160 --> 01:23:39,519 Speaker 3: if he's not Eli Manning, you. 1853 01:23:39,439 --> 01:23:42,360 Speaker 1: Know, his prototypical perfect quarterback type build. 1854 01:23:42,200 --> 01:23:45,000 Speaker 2: Right, Like he is small. It is he plays small. 1855 01:23:45,040 --> 01:23:47,040 Speaker 2: He's small, and he's getting sacked. They're on pace to 1856 01:23:48,479 --> 01:23:51,640 Speaker 2: Carolina line is not helping him. He's on pace to 1857 01:23:51,640 --> 01:23:54,200 Speaker 2: be sacked sixty six times, which is almost the team record. 1858 01:23:54,280 --> 01:24:00,720 Speaker 2: So that's a recipe for disaster as well. Oh Man 1859 01:24:00,800 --> 01:24:03,120 Speaker 2: they are hot on our tails. Greg in the in 1860 01:24:03,160 --> 01:24:07,200 Speaker 2: the pits competition, they are right behind us now two games. 1861 01:24:07,240 --> 01:24:09,719 Speaker 1: You should have seen a face when when you said 1862 01:24:09,840 --> 01:24:12,000 Speaker 1: us just now, He's like, what is this narrative? 1863 01:24:12,080 --> 01:24:15,639 Speaker 5: Dan, You're wrong right now? Greg? And what is our record? Greg? Eleven? 1864 01:24:15,680 --> 01:24:17,960 Speaker 1: And what are you talking? I'm eleven in one. You're 1865 01:24:18,040 --> 01:24:21,320 Speaker 1: one to o jumping on with me. Actually you're not 1866 01:24:21,400 --> 01:24:24,080 Speaker 1: because the one week I got wrong. Now the three 1867 01:24:24,120 --> 01:24:26,559 Speaker 1: of us all did it together. Well, there's a lot 1868 01:24:26,560 --> 01:24:27,760 Speaker 1: of different standings of play. 1869 01:24:27,800 --> 01:24:31,599 Speaker 2: So I'm one and one when we picked, I'm talking one, 1870 01:24:31,640 --> 01:24:34,840 Speaker 2: and since I just got on the train, I'm one 1871 01:24:34,880 --> 01:24:38,400 Speaker 2: and one overall. After they blew up the entire operation, 1872 01:24:38,920 --> 01:24:44,000 Speaker 2: after the horrible Joe Burray injury designation UH fiasco. And 1873 01:24:44,040 --> 01:24:45,919 Speaker 2: then if you want to look at the the broader, 1874 01:24:46,520 --> 01:24:48,160 Speaker 2: I think I'm I don't want to eleven. 1875 01:24:48,240 --> 01:24:49,760 Speaker 9: I don't want to look at the broader like I 1876 01:24:49,800 --> 01:24:51,120 Speaker 9: think this is a this is a farce. 1877 01:24:51,200 --> 01:24:53,320 Speaker 2: You want to join the Rosenthal train because it was 1878 01:24:53,360 --> 01:24:55,080 Speaker 2: a it was a little bit of a bumpy ride today, 1879 01:24:55,120 --> 01:24:58,360 Speaker 2: but weed on the champagne and eating Caveo. 1880 01:24:58,520 --> 01:25:01,160 Speaker 3: I locked up the Niners with confidence and never for 1881 01:25:01,200 --> 01:25:03,120 Speaker 3: a second had any concern about that. 1882 01:25:03,040 --> 01:25:05,519 Speaker 5: Affair us job, that was a good luck get it. 1883 01:25:05,680 --> 01:25:07,800 Speaker 5: We all got done. Yeah, right across the board. 1884 01:25:07,880 --> 01:25:11,080 Speaker 3: I'll travel my own path though, You're a brave man. 1885 01:25:11,920 --> 01:25:13,160 Speaker 3: Me makes second to last place. 1886 01:25:13,200 --> 01:25:15,720 Speaker 5: So it's just me. It's Greg in the motorcycle and 1887 01:25:15,720 --> 01:25:16,479 Speaker 5: me in the sidecar. 1888 01:25:17,960 --> 01:25:22,000 Speaker 1: This is one of the most bizarre podcast strategies you 1889 01:25:22,120 --> 01:25:25,520 Speaker 1: ever had. The game is over. 1894 01:25:42,120 --> 01:25:46,920 Speaker 13: The Packers have defeated the Chiefs twenty seven to nineteen. 1895 01:25:47,360 --> 01:25:50,320 Speaker 1: I what a moment for this young team. 1896 01:25:50,600 --> 01:25:54,400 Speaker 2: Wayne Laravie with the call for Packers Radio, and yes, 1897 01:25:54,439 --> 01:25:56,920 Speaker 2: it is a big moment for the green Bay Packers, 1898 01:25:56,920 --> 01:26:00,639 Speaker 2: a team on the rise now uh six and after 1899 01:26:00,680 --> 01:26:03,960 Speaker 2: a twenty seven to nineteen win over the mighty chief 1900 01:26:04,000 --> 01:26:06,599 Speaker 2: Well are the Chiefs mighty? I'm not sure about that anymore, 1901 01:26:07,280 --> 01:26:10,879 Speaker 2: but a big win for the Packers coming off obviously 1902 01:26:10,920 --> 01:26:13,840 Speaker 2: a huge Thanksgiving win over the Lions, and all of 1903 01:26:13,880 --> 01:26:16,240 Speaker 2: a sudden green Bay looks like a team that makes 1904 01:26:16,280 --> 01:26:20,559 Speaker 2: some real noise in a wide open NFC. And boys, look, 1905 01:26:20,640 --> 01:26:23,760 Speaker 2: we got to start unfortunately, and we're gonna We're gonna 1906 01:26:23,800 --> 01:26:26,320 Speaker 2: give the Packers their flowers, but we got to talk 1907 01:26:26,360 --> 01:26:28,479 Speaker 2: about what everybody's gonna be talking about, which is an 1908 01:26:28,600 --> 01:26:34,679 Speaker 2: absolute meltdown by the officiating crew in the final minute 1909 01:26:34,680 --> 01:26:35,639 Speaker 2: and a half of this game. 1910 01:26:35,680 --> 01:26:37,160 Speaker 5: I'm actually looking at it right now. 1911 01:26:37,200 --> 01:26:40,559 Speaker 2: Boys, there were you can make the case that they 1912 01:26:40,600 --> 01:26:43,479 Speaker 2: blew five calls in the final sixty five seconds of 1913 01:26:43,520 --> 01:26:47,920 Speaker 2: the game. Patrick Mahomes scrambles out of bounds at the 1914 01:26:47,960 --> 01:26:52,000 Speaker 2: CAC forty for ten yards. They penalize Owen's on green 1915 01:26:52,040 --> 01:26:57,479 Speaker 2: Bay for unnecessary roughness. Bogus call, not the right call, 1916 01:26:57,560 --> 01:26:58,080 Speaker 2: not even. 1917 01:26:57,880 --> 01:27:00,559 Speaker 4: A question, and was an emphasis on the by the 1918 01:27:00,640 --> 01:27:04,240 Speaker 4: rules committee in the offseason to not let quarterbacks bait 1919 01:27:04,800 --> 01:27:06,040 Speaker 4: defenders into those costs. 1920 01:27:06,160 --> 01:27:09,679 Speaker 2: And they still Terry McCauley comes in for NBC says, hey, 1921 01:27:09,840 --> 01:27:10,720 Speaker 2: this is the wrong call. 1922 01:27:10,800 --> 01:27:12,559 Speaker 5: This is that you cannot throw a flag here. 1923 01:27:12,880 --> 01:27:16,479 Speaker 2: The very next play, Patrick Mahomes to Rashid Rice for 1924 01:27:16,560 --> 01:27:19,519 Speaker 2: ten yards, he's down by contact. They rule it a 1925 01:27:19,560 --> 01:27:23,599 Speaker 2: fumble that gets overt turned on review. But that even 1926 01:27:23,680 --> 01:27:27,120 Speaker 2: has a butterfly effect by missing that call and ruling 1927 01:27:27,200 --> 01:27:30,880 Speaker 2: rice up when the pall comes out. That leads to 1928 01:27:30,960 --> 01:27:33,880 Speaker 2: the Pachenko fight Isaya Pachenko fight where he takes a 1929 01:27:33,880 --> 01:27:38,040 Speaker 2: swing and he gets suspended. That's a missed call, overturned 1930 01:27:38,080 --> 01:27:38,960 Speaker 2: on review. 1931 01:27:38,680 --> 01:27:40,880 Speaker 3: And that took about twenty seven minutes, it felt like 1932 01:27:40,920 --> 01:27:41,759 Speaker 3: for them to sort. 1933 01:27:41,560 --> 01:27:42,000 Speaker 5: All that out. 1934 01:27:42,760 --> 01:27:46,120 Speaker 2: Then you have Patrick Mahomes dropping back to pass and 1935 01:27:46,360 --> 01:27:51,800 Speaker 2: he unfurls a deep ball to Marquez Valdez Scantling a 1936 01:27:52,040 --> 01:27:55,720 Speaker 2: clear pass interference once again, no doubt about it. They 1937 01:27:55,760 --> 01:27:59,440 Speaker 2: do not throw the flag again. They bring in McCauley 1938 01:27:59,600 --> 01:28:04,680 Speaker 2: and McCall. He says, yeah, that is obvious past interference. 1939 01:28:05,439 --> 01:28:08,120 Speaker 2: It should also be said that mvs also made a 1940 01:28:08,160 --> 01:28:11,400 Speaker 2: catch on the play prior to that, where he had 1941 01:28:11,560 --> 01:28:14,320 Speaker 2: his forward momentum had stopped and he's moving backwards as 1942 01:28:14,320 --> 01:28:17,000 Speaker 2: he's pushed out of bounds, but the side jes rules 1943 01:28:17,040 --> 01:28:19,000 Speaker 2: that he was able to stop the clock. 1944 01:28:19,120 --> 01:28:21,720 Speaker 5: That's a blown call. And then finally, and I know. 1945 01:28:21,720 --> 01:28:23,680 Speaker 2: This one is gonna be one, especially Packer fans are 1946 01:28:23,680 --> 01:28:27,719 Speaker 2: gonna say, shut up, Dan, but a hail mary throw 1947 01:28:28,040 --> 01:28:29,679 Speaker 2: and it's not really even a hail mary guys. 1948 01:28:29,680 --> 01:28:31,439 Speaker 5: It was from the thirty three yard line. 1949 01:28:31,520 --> 01:28:35,600 Speaker 2: Yeah, Travis Kelcey gets a two handed shove in the 1950 01:28:35,640 --> 01:28:37,920 Speaker 2: back as the balls approaching the end zone, taking him 1951 01:28:37,960 --> 01:28:40,719 Speaker 2: out of the play. And yes, Greg, you can say 1952 01:28:40,760 --> 01:28:45,040 Speaker 2: on that play, nobody throws the flag there but one. 1953 01:28:45,240 --> 01:28:49,080 Speaker 1: He took the essentially the guy most capable of making 1954 01:28:49,080 --> 01:28:50,960 Speaker 1: that play out of the play with a two handed 1955 01:28:50,960 --> 01:28:52,559 Speaker 1: shove and two men. 1956 01:28:53,080 --> 01:28:54,400 Speaker 5: I know, makeup calls exist. 1957 01:28:54,479 --> 01:28:56,200 Speaker 1: If there's a way to make up for the MVS 1958 01:28:56,200 --> 01:28:58,880 Speaker 1: blown call, maybe you throw the flag there. But they didn't. 1959 01:28:58,920 --> 01:29:00,120 Speaker 1: And the packers of the Bend. 1960 01:29:00,479 --> 01:29:02,400 Speaker 4: Well, they're all they're all humans, And I don't know 1961 01:29:02,439 --> 01:29:03,719 Speaker 4: who made them non call. 1962 01:29:03,720 --> 01:29:05,800 Speaker 1: That's the problem. We got to get some AI refs 1963 01:29:05,840 --> 01:29:06,320 Speaker 1: in here. 1964 01:29:06,720 --> 01:29:08,920 Speaker 4: I don't know who made the non call on the 1965 01:29:09,040 --> 01:29:13,000 Speaker 4: pass interference to uh vow the scantling should have been 1966 01:29:13,000 --> 01:29:17,080 Speaker 4: a pass interference. It was Corey Valentine that was in coverage. 1967 01:29:17,360 --> 01:29:21,080 Speaker 4: That to me in the moment felt like a makeup call, 1968 01:29:21,680 --> 01:29:24,960 Speaker 4: makeup non call essentially from the Mahomes because that happened 1969 01:29:25,040 --> 01:29:28,200 Speaker 4: right after the Mahomes which they blew that call. 1970 01:29:28,280 --> 01:29:28,960 Speaker 1: It was brutal. 1971 01:29:28,960 --> 01:29:30,719 Speaker 4: I don't know if they somehow knew that they brewed 1972 01:29:30,720 --> 01:29:33,280 Speaker 4: that call, but they were suddenly in the crosshairs. 1973 01:29:33,320 --> 01:29:36,800 Speaker 1: It like they helped the Chiefs get to that point. 1974 01:29:36,960 --> 01:29:40,000 Speaker 4: And then right after that was the throw down the field, 1975 01:29:40,360 --> 01:29:42,800 Speaker 4: and that was the one of all of these that 1976 01:29:42,960 --> 01:29:45,719 Speaker 4: was truly egregious. 1977 01:29:45,120 --> 01:29:48,679 Speaker 1: And probably changed the game. I think it's worth going, Yes. 1978 01:29:48,520 --> 01:29:50,480 Speaker 5: It's first and ten at the sixth Greg. 1979 01:29:50,320 --> 01:29:52,200 Speaker 1: Okay, first goal, okay. 1980 01:29:51,880 --> 01:29:54,680 Speaker 4: And they struggled twice in the red zone tonight, and 1981 01:29:54,720 --> 01:29:57,000 Speaker 4: they had to hit a two point conversion and there's overtime, 1982 01:29:57,040 --> 01:29:59,040 Speaker 4: so it changed how the whole rest of the game 1983 01:29:59,080 --> 01:30:02,160 Speaker 4: would have gone by just worth noting, like, you don't 1984 01:30:02,200 --> 01:30:05,479 Speaker 4: know that the result of the game is right, it's. 1985 01:30:04,880 --> 01:30:06,680 Speaker 3: Still brutal, right, It's like we were saying, you know 1986 01:30:06,760 --> 01:30:08,960 Speaker 3: before we recorded, like it wasn't like any one of 1987 01:30:09,000 --> 01:30:11,720 Speaker 3: these calls is going to stir up like the competition 1988 01:30:11,800 --> 01:30:14,639 Speaker 3: committee to look at things differently. The combination of all 1989 01:30:14,680 --> 01:30:21,320 Speaker 3: of them, though, suggested officiating gaggle of officials who seemed completely. 1990 01:30:20,760 --> 01:30:21,519 Speaker 9: Out of control. 1991 01:30:21,720 --> 01:30:23,600 Speaker 3: There was just an air of like the game was 1992 01:30:23,640 --> 01:30:26,960 Speaker 3: melting down and it's like who's in charge here? 1993 01:30:26,960 --> 01:30:28,280 Speaker 1: And why is this taking so long? 1994 01:30:28,320 --> 01:30:30,960 Speaker 3: It's like none of it was so overly complex that 1995 01:30:31,000 --> 01:30:33,320 Speaker 3: it should have looked the way it did to us. 1996 01:30:33,439 --> 01:30:35,360 Speaker 9: And when you got McCauley, I thought he did a 1997 01:30:35,360 --> 01:30:35,720 Speaker 9: good job. 1998 01:30:35,760 --> 01:30:38,519 Speaker 3: He came on three or four times and forcedly said wrong, 1999 01:30:38,840 --> 01:30:41,120 Speaker 3: wrong call, And like, I guess for me the whole thing. 2000 01:30:41,280 --> 01:30:43,880 Speaker 3: They are human, but the concept of a makeup call 2001 01:30:44,600 --> 01:30:46,640 Speaker 3: is not how things should be done. Like it's like, 2002 01:30:46,760 --> 01:30:49,760 Speaker 3: if you made one mistake, you don't then allow yourselves 2003 01:30:49,800 --> 01:30:53,120 Speaker 3: to visibly make another right. So without telling us what's 2004 01:30:53,160 --> 01:30:54,600 Speaker 3: going on and just you just look, it looked like 2005 01:30:54,640 --> 01:30:57,479 Speaker 3: they were falling further and further from an element of control. 2006 01:30:57,560 --> 01:31:01,519 Speaker 2: I think that MVS no call given the stakes is 2007 01:31:01,600 --> 01:31:05,120 Speaker 2: one of the worst non calls I've seen period. That 2008 01:31:05,200 --> 01:31:07,720 Speaker 2: was one of the worst blown DEPI calls you could 2009 01:31:07,760 --> 01:31:10,599 Speaker 2: possibly see. And the fact that it was dead center 2010 01:31:10,640 --> 01:31:12,759 Speaker 2: in the middle of the field, no question about it. 2011 01:31:12,760 --> 01:31:13,479 Speaker 5: It can't happen. 2012 01:31:13,680 --> 01:31:16,120 Speaker 2: And you know what I mentioned it earlier in this episode, 2013 01:31:16,479 --> 01:31:18,759 Speaker 2: I guess I had my eyes, Like on a typical Sunday, 2014 01:31:19,439 --> 01:31:23,000 Speaker 2: we're gonna have our eyes individually on about five games 2015 01:31:23,000 --> 01:31:26,320 Speaker 2: pretty closely almost every game I watched today, there were 2016 01:31:26,400 --> 01:31:29,200 Speaker 2: really bad mistakes being made by the officiating and I 2017 01:31:29,240 --> 01:31:32,360 Speaker 2: hate talking about this because obviously you want to focus 2018 01:31:32,360 --> 01:31:33,320 Speaker 2: on what Jordan Love. 2019 01:31:33,200 --> 01:31:35,040 Speaker 1: And the packagers are doing about look at it to it. 2020 01:31:35,160 --> 01:31:37,280 Speaker 2: We have to talk about it, and I know on 2021 01:31:37,400 --> 01:31:39,240 Speaker 2: Park Avenue that they're going to be talking about a 2022 01:31:39,320 --> 01:31:42,400 Speaker 2: first thing Monday morning because it's affecting the quality of 2023 01:31:42,439 --> 01:31:42,880 Speaker 2: the product. 2024 01:31:43,080 --> 01:31:48,320 Speaker 4: It's just rare that there's two calls in that spot 2025 01:31:48,400 --> 01:31:52,320 Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes in Lamboat Sunday Night football, the biggest stage. 2026 01:31:52,320 --> 01:31:56,120 Speaker 4: We have a really unique entertaining game, and that you 2027 01:31:56,200 --> 01:32:00,760 Speaker 4: have two calls and I'm separating the Mahomes hit out 2028 01:32:00,760 --> 01:32:03,880 Speaker 4: of bounds in the first pass in the past interference 2029 01:32:03,960 --> 01:32:06,400 Speaker 4: non call as just clearly wrong. 2030 01:32:06,439 --> 01:32:10,839 Speaker 1: No one's gonna argue that we will see the pool reports. 2031 01:32:10,880 --> 01:32:12,599 Speaker 4: They might be out by the time we finished talking 2032 01:32:13,000 --> 01:32:15,960 Speaker 4: these ten minutes. They will have to just admit we 2033 01:32:16,040 --> 01:32:19,000 Speaker 4: missed those calls. They were absolutely crystal clear, and that 2034 01:32:19,320 --> 01:32:22,680 Speaker 4: it's pretty unique. I can't remember any game in this 2035 01:32:22,800 --> 01:32:25,479 Speaker 4: sort of spotlight where there's a cavalcat of calls like 2036 01:32:25,520 --> 01:32:26,320 Speaker 4: this all in a row. 2037 01:32:26,360 --> 01:32:28,600 Speaker 1: It was a pretty it was a pretty unique circumstance. 2038 01:32:28,640 --> 01:32:31,160 Speaker 1: The problem is they could admit after what we all 2039 01:32:31,200 --> 01:32:33,120 Speaker 1: see with our own eyes, I'm just guessing the night man. 2040 01:32:33,200 --> 01:32:35,040 Speaker 1: They try not to, but those two would be tough too. 2041 01:32:35,080 --> 01:32:36,479 Speaker 3: It was just the lack of I wouldn't say the 2042 01:32:36,520 --> 01:32:38,720 Speaker 3: words accountability, but it's just like when this happens to 2043 01:32:38,760 --> 01:32:41,679 Speaker 3: a team and you get totally hosed on an island 2044 01:32:41,680 --> 01:32:44,920 Speaker 3: game on national television in a circus of officiating. 2045 01:32:45,720 --> 01:32:47,320 Speaker 9: All just leaves you with is the loss. 2046 01:32:48,439 --> 01:32:50,599 Speaker 1: Let's talk about the backers, and they deserve to lose too, 2047 01:32:50,680 --> 01:32:54,200 Speaker 1: by the way, Jeeves. 2048 01:32:53,160 --> 01:32:53,720 Speaker 5: I don't like that. 2049 01:32:55,320 --> 01:33:00,400 Speaker 1: I just mean teams frits out, players fritz out, coaches 2050 01:33:00,479 --> 01:33:03,040 Speaker 1: fritz out, and sometimes to your point, I think mark 2051 01:33:03,320 --> 01:33:04,920 Speaker 1: officials often fritz out too. 2052 01:33:05,080 --> 01:33:06,640 Speaker 5: Yeah, but that I can't live with that. 2053 01:33:06,800 --> 01:33:08,880 Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that's as a fan like, I want 2054 01:33:08,920 --> 01:33:11,040 Speaker 2: the officials to do their job and stay out of 2055 01:33:11,040 --> 01:33:13,160 Speaker 2: the way, and we're just never going to know, really 2056 01:33:13,160 --> 01:33:15,920 Speaker 2: how that game really should have turned out because the officials. 2057 01:33:16,000 --> 01:33:16,080 Speaker 1: Ye. 2058 01:33:16,240 --> 01:33:18,200 Speaker 4: All I mean is they were in that position where 2059 01:33:18,240 --> 01:33:20,960 Speaker 4: they had no timeouts, they had to drive the length 2060 01:33:21,000 --> 01:33:24,840 Speaker 4: of the field in one oh nine for a touchdown 2061 01:33:24,920 --> 01:33:26,400 Speaker 4: and a two point to tie. 2062 01:33:26,479 --> 01:33:28,120 Speaker 1: So they had put themselves in that position. 2063 01:33:28,240 --> 01:33:30,639 Speaker 2: They certainly did, and the reason they did is because, yeah, 2064 01:33:30,680 --> 01:33:33,719 Speaker 2: for the most part, Packers outplayed the Chiefs in this game, 2065 01:33:33,760 --> 01:33:36,160 Speaker 2: and you're seeing it in Matt Lafour by the way, 2066 01:33:36,200 --> 01:33:41,360 Speaker 2: the bearded boy himself sixteen and oh in December games. Wow, 2067 01:33:41,439 --> 01:33:43,439 Speaker 2: the Packers who were left for dead, I think they 2068 01:33:43,479 --> 01:33:45,479 Speaker 2: said on the game telecast, And it checks out because 2069 01:33:45,520 --> 01:33:48,719 Speaker 2: it felt that way once went forty days the season 2070 01:33:48,760 --> 01:33:52,000 Speaker 2: without winning a football game, and now they you can 2071 01:33:52,080 --> 01:33:54,040 Speaker 2: make the case that outside of the Niners, they're the 2072 01:33:54,080 --> 01:33:57,120 Speaker 2: hottest team in the NFC. So they're very interesting, Mark 2073 01:33:57,200 --> 01:33:59,400 Speaker 2: from that perspective. And the thing I'll say about Jordan 2074 01:33:59,439 --> 01:34:01,439 Speaker 2: Love in this one, Mark, and I'm curious what your 2075 01:34:01,439 --> 01:34:04,320 Speaker 2: thoughts are. It's not just the stats that look great 2076 01:34:04,680 --> 01:34:07,880 Speaker 2: right now, it's how confident he's playing, and how you 2077 01:34:07,920 --> 01:34:11,679 Speaker 2: could tell he's in control of everything he sees. And 2078 01:34:11,760 --> 01:34:14,320 Speaker 2: for a guy that's as young as he is, as 2079 01:34:14,439 --> 01:34:16,840 Speaker 2: inexperienced as he is, and as loss as it seemed 2080 01:34:16,840 --> 01:34:18,960 Speaker 2: to he was like a month or so ago, it's 2081 01:34:18,960 --> 01:34:20,320 Speaker 2: pretty remarkable to turn around. 2082 01:34:20,520 --> 01:34:24,240 Speaker 3: It's I think one thing that's wonderful about kind of 2083 01:34:24,240 --> 01:34:27,599 Speaker 3: covering the whole league versus just your team is that 2084 01:34:28,040 --> 01:34:31,559 Speaker 3: you start to see operations just grow up right before 2085 01:34:31,600 --> 01:34:33,840 Speaker 3: your eyes and it's Jordan Love and it's like the 2086 01:34:33,880 --> 01:34:37,360 Speaker 3: offense around him. And I thought tonight there were four 2087 01:34:37,439 --> 01:34:40,120 Speaker 3: or five throws, well, I can think of one to 2088 01:34:40,200 --> 01:34:43,120 Speaker 3: Christian Watson where it's like he is just throwing with 2089 01:34:43,240 --> 01:34:47,240 Speaker 3: intense like confidence and putting in like into tight windows. 2090 01:34:47,240 --> 01:34:49,080 Speaker 3: And there's a couple you know, there were a couple drops, 2091 01:34:49,240 --> 01:34:51,280 Speaker 3: but he put the ball right on the money. And 2092 01:34:52,000 --> 01:34:54,280 Speaker 3: I just think on top of that, like the way 2093 01:34:54,320 --> 01:34:56,759 Speaker 3: he's seen the field, the way he uses his legs 2094 01:34:56,760 --> 01:35:00,360 Speaker 3: and moments, the fact that he's pairing well in a 2095 01:35:00,360 --> 01:35:02,760 Speaker 3: Matt Lafleor offense, and Matt Lafleur two weeks in a row, 2096 01:35:02,760 --> 01:35:07,280 Speaker 3: because what Thanksgiving feels like about seven eros ago, two 2097 01:35:07,320 --> 01:35:10,400 Speaker 3: great Matt Lafleur coached games. I think that like this 2098 01:35:10,479 --> 01:35:13,840 Speaker 3: isn't working well because they're kind of all growing up together. 2099 01:35:14,080 --> 01:35:18,360 Speaker 4: Yeah, I said, when they were at their nadir, I 2100 01:35:18,400 --> 01:35:20,559 Speaker 4: brought up how in the off season we said we're 2101 01:35:20,560 --> 01:35:23,519 Speaker 4: gonna learn a lot about Matt Lafleur, and I ended 2102 01:35:23,560 --> 01:35:25,920 Speaker 4: it with some smug little thing of like they are 2103 01:35:26,200 --> 01:35:29,639 Speaker 4: right now like one of the worst offenses in the league. Okay, 2104 01:35:30,880 --> 01:35:33,400 Speaker 4: right now, we're gonna learn a lot about Matt Lafleur 2105 01:35:33,520 --> 01:35:37,720 Speaker 4: this season, he has taken a young quarterback, and I 2106 01:35:37,720 --> 01:35:40,519 Speaker 4: think Love deserves the most credit. But I think with 2107 01:35:40,560 --> 01:35:43,280 Speaker 4: the weapons around him and the amount of play action 2108 01:35:43,520 --> 01:35:46,559 Speaker 4: he really there I hit on, you know, Russell Wilson 2109 01:35:46,640 --> 01:35:48,600 Speaker 4: really relying on play action for that's not necessarily a 2110 01:35:48,600 --> 01:35:50,320 Speaker 4: bad thing. I mean Ryan Tannel did it for years, 2111 01:35:50,360 --> 01:35:52,400 Speaker 4: A lot of teams do it. He is relying on 2112 01:35:52,439 --> 01:35:54,360 Speaker 4: play action as much as any quarterback in the league, 2113 01:35:54,360 --> 01:35:57,000 Speaker 4: and it is hitting guys are open. And then when 2114 01:35:57,040 --> 01:35:59,640 Speaker 4: he is doing that backpedal and he has to do 2115 01:35:59,680 --> 01:36:04,439 Speaker 4: something special like that rain Bo shot to Romeo Dobbs, 2116 01:36:04,439 --> 01:36:06,760 Speaker 4: which looked like a bad idea, And I don't know 2117 01:36:06,760 --> 01:36:10,000 Speaker 4: how it fell down in there, like there's it still was. 2118 01:36:10,280 --> 01:36:13,360 Speaker 4: He still got it exactly triangle in there, He got 2119 01:36:13,439 --> 01:36:15,479 Speaker 4: exactly where it wanted to go. 2120 01:36:15,720 --> 01:36:17,800 Speaker 1: And I think you're right. 2121 01:36:17,840 --> 01:36:21,400 Speaker 4: He's playing with such incredible confidence that when he's doing 2122 01:36:21,439 --> 01:36:23,599 Speaker 4: these back pedals and making these crazy throats like I'm 2123 01:36:23,600 --> 01:36:25,960 Speaker 4: almost surprised when he's not hitting him. These are all 2124 01:36:25,960 --> 01:36:28,960 Speaker 4: like chunk plays too, so like rookies Malik Heath and 2125 01:36:29,320 --> 01:36:31,760 Speaker 4: is that even a person Dontavian Wicks and just all 2126 01:36:31,800 --> 01:36:35,000 Speaker 4: these guys like fifteen to twenty five yard chunk plays. 2127 01:36:35,000 --> 01:36:37,280 Speaker 1: It's pretty awesome. And it's gotten this bad for the 2128 01:36:37,400 --> 01:36:41,320 Speaker 1: Chiefs with their offense. If Patrick Mahomes is not handing 2129 01:36:41,360 --> 01:36:43,600 Speaker 1: the ball off, for getting the hand the ball in 2130 01:36:43,640 --> 01:36:46,479 Speaker 1: the hands of Jaco who's a very good running back, 2131 01:36:47,040 --> 01:36:49,519 Speaker 1: or getting it to Travis Kelce who's not you know, 2132 01:36:50,840 --> 01:36:54,200 Speaker 1: dominating at the same clip as past years, or Rashi Rice, 2133 01:36:54,200 --> 01:36:56,320 Speaker 1: who's a consistent guy for them. 2134 01:36:56,360 --> 01:36:58,160 Speaker 5: Now it's bad news. 2135 01:36:58,120 --> 01:37:00,840 Speaker 1: But limited consistently good, but limited. 2136 01:37:00,560 --> 01:37:01,320 Speaker 5: Within the realm. 2137 01:37:01,439 --> 01:37:04,120 Speaker 2: Like today he had eight for sixty four on nine targets, 2138 01:37:04,160 --> 01:37:07,040 Speaker 2: Like at least he's a guy that he's not a 2139 01:37:07,080 --> 01:37:10,439 Speaker 2: liability everyone else that he's trying to get involved, whether 2140 01:37:10,479 --> 01:37:13,000 Speaker 2: it's mvs who yes, got jobbed, but let's face it 2141 01:37:13,000 --> 01:37:17,519 Speaker 2: probably would have dropped it anyway, Richie James Clyde, Edwards, 2142 01:37:17,600 --> 01:37:20,840 Speaker 2: Lair sky Moore that route he ran on the Mahomes interception. 2143 01:37:21,320 --> 01:37:23,960 Speaker 2: I mean you just like, who do you trust Caadarius Tony, 2144 01:37:24,000 --> 01:37:27,040 Speaker 2: who's like not even on the roster anymore at this point. 2145 01:37:27,360 --> 01:37:29,439 Speaker 2: They they have work to do in the offseason to 2146 01:37:29,479 --> 01:37:32,200 Speaker 2: fix it. And again, like every time you think maybe 2147 01:37:32,240 --> 01:37:34,800 Speaker 2: they're coming out of it. There's another one of these 2148 01:37:34,840 --> 01:37:36,680 Speaker 2: games that tell you no, there's just there's just a 2149 01:37:36,800 --> 01:37:37,960 Speaker 2: limit to this offense. 2150 01:37:38,240 --> 01:37:40,320 Speaker 5: And it's kind of a stunning subplot of this season. 2151 01:37:40,320 --> 01:37:44,320 Speaker 3: They're really frustrating when they get into certain situations where 2152 01:37:44,360 --> 01:37:46,800 Speaker 3: in the past you could simply trust or you'd be 2153 01:37:46,800 --> 01:37:49,040 Speaker 3: a fool not to trust Mahomes to bail you out 2154 01:37:49,320 --> 01:37:50,960 Speaker 3: and to have some targets that would help you too. 2155 01:37:50,960 --> 01:37:52,880 Speaker 3: But it's like we're running out of time here. I 2156 01:37:53,000 --> 01:37:54,920 Speaker 3: like with the chiefs'll just we'll see where we are 2157 01:37:54,960 --> 01:37:57,760 Speaker 3: on the playoffs. But you asked if they were mighty still, 2158 01:37:57,760 --> 01:38:00,000 Speaker 3: and I think it's a fair question because you can't 2159 01:38:00,200 --> 01:38:03,559 Speaker 3: just rely on Andy Reid, the mind of Andy Reid 2160 01:38:03,720 --> 01:38:06,799 Speaker 3: and the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes to rescue an offense 2161 01:38:06,800 --> 01:38:08,639 Speaker 3: that it's missing pieces and has been all year. 2162 01:38:08,760 --> 01:38:11,040 Speaker 4: So they finished the game so ugly, and that's what 2163 01:38:11,040 --> 01:38:16,040 Speaker 4: we remember three and out than the interception, which was 2164 01:38:16,080 --> 01:38:19,400 Speaker 4: going to be a tough pass, but more really did 2165 01:38:19,400 --> 01:38:20,040 Speaker 4: a terrible. 2166 01:38:19,880 --> 01:38:21,240 Speaker 5: Job and it wasn't even greater. 2167 01:38:21,280 --> 01:38:24,000 Speaker 4: And agree, yeah, he killed them by changing by slowing 2168 01:38:24,040 --> 01:38:26,080 Speaker 4: down on the route, and Keishak Nixon made a really 2169 01:38:26,160 --> 01:38:28,680 Speaker 4: nice interception too, that you don't see guys make a 2170 01:38:28,760 --> 01:38:30,719 Speaker 4: nice play like that, and then the way that game ended, 2171 01:38:31,360 --> 01:38:33,400 Speaker 4: I should know that. I mean, each of these teams 2172 01:38:33,439 --> 01:38:37,000 Speaker 4: only had seven drives. That is an exceptionally low number 2173 01:38:37,760 --> 01:38:40,160 Speaker 4: for both teams to have in an NFL game. So 2174 01:38:40,320 --> 01:38:43,240 Speaker 4: to me, this was sort of like an old Chiefs 2175 01:38:43,240 --> 01:38:46,080 Speaker 4: game where it was like, oh man, our defense thinks tonight, 2176 01:38:46,479 --> 01:38:50,640 Speaker 4: we need Patrick Mahomes to answer every single drive. We 2177 01:38:50,720 --> 01:38:53,360 Speaker 4: just haven't seen the Chiefs defense give up points like that. 2178 01:38:53,840 --> 01:38:57,200 Speaker 4: Twenty seven points and seven drives is terrible. The Chiefs 2179 01:38:57,240 --> 01:39:00,200 Speaker 4: even nineteen points and seven drives is pretty great. That 2180 01:39:00,280 --> 01:39:02,720 Speaker 4: points per drive, that would just barely like lead the 2181 01:39:02,800 --> 01:39:05,639 Speaker 4: league in points per drive, nineteen points and seven drives. 2182 01:39:05,640 --> 01:39:09,040 Speaker 4: Like it just was so limited here, but the Packers 2183 01:39:09,040 --> 01:39:12,519 Speaker 4: were scoring almost every single time. And the Chiefs, you know, 2184 01:39:12,800 --> 01:39:15,519 Speaker 4: are is there defense going to stay out this level 2185 01:39:15,680 --> 01:39:17,000 Speaker 4: the whole season outstanding? 2186 01:39:17,120 --> 01:39:19,040 Speaker 1: We've seen a little leakage lately. 2187 01:39:19,120 --> 01:39:22,120 Speaker 4: They've had some injuries at linebacker, Nick Bolton and Drew 2188 01:39:22,160 --> 01:39:23,640 Speaker 4: Treankoler out, so that that's part of it. 2189 01:39:23,680 --> 01:39:25,519 Speaker 1: Brian Cook got carted out of this game. 2190 01:39:25,520 --> 01:39:28,280 Speaker 4: They're starting safety, so that side of the ball might 2191 01:39:28,360 --> 01:39:29,760 Speaker 4: be creating a little issue too. 2192 01:39:30,439 --> 01:39:34,960 Speaker 2: Here's the final stat Okay, it's from Tony Holzman Escarano. 2193 01:39:35,200 --> 01:39:40,720 Speaker 2: He is the NFL idiot, senior researcher Kansas City, and 2194 01:39:40,800 --> 01:39:41,760 Speaker 2: I know points per drive. 2195 01:39:42,520 --> 01:39:43,200 Speaker 5: I understand it. 2196 01:39:43,800 --> 01:39:45,960 Speaker 1: I'm saying they were pretty they were Okay tonight they 2197 01:39:45,960 --> 01:39:48,000 Speaker 1: were pretty good. I know it doesn't feel that way anywhere. 2198 01:39:48,000 --> 01:39:48,360 Speaker 5: It is. 2199 01:39:48,400 --> 01:39:50,720 Speaker 2: The Chiefs have scored fewer than twenty points in six 2200 01:39:50,800 --> 01:39:53,720 Speaker 2: games this season. The Chiefs had six such games and 2201 01:39:53,800 --> 01:39:57,640 Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes's first five seasons as a starter combined. 2202 01:39:59,479 --> 01:40:00,800 Speaker 9: Yeah, and it looks that way. 2203 01:40:01,280 --> 01:40:04,240 Speaker 4: Eight in that fourth loss is big. They're now behind 2204 01:40:04,360 --> 01:40:05,120 Speaker 4: three teams in. 2205 01:40:05,120 --> 01:40:08,760 Speaker 1: The AFC who have three losses Ravens, Jags we'll see 2206 01:40:08,800 --> 01:40:11,759 Speaker 1: on Monday night, and and the Dolphins and the Packers. 2207 01:40:11,760 --> 01:40:12,599 Speaker 1: Here at six and six. 2208 01:40:12,960 --> 01:40:15,160 Speaker 4: You look at their schedule and all the projection models 2209 01:40:15,200 --> 01:40:20,320 Speaker 4: now have the Packers business as the favorite, as like 2210 01:40:20,360 --> 01:40:24,000 Speaker 4: a decent size over fifty percent chance to make the play. 2211 01:40:23,800 --> 01:40:25,920 Speaker 3: You even think ru will be potentially in three weeks 2212 01:40:25,960 --> 01:40:28,639 Speaker 3: they're six and six. They play the Giants, the Bucks 2213 01:40:28,800 --> 01:40:31,879 Speaker 3: and the Panthers before finishing with the Vikings, and anything less. 2214 01:40:31,680 --> 01:40:35,840 Speaker 2: Than two dubs there is the disaster. All right, the 2215 01:40:36,000 --> 01:40:39,120 Speaker 2: disaster this NFC, they'll be fine matter they could probably 2216 01:40:39,640 --> 01:40:43,439 Speaker 2: all right. Uh, Tomorrow, Monday, we got a doubleheader, we 2217 01:40:43,560 --> 01:40:46,960 Speaker 2: got the NFL plus Game of the Week. We'll be 2218 01:40:47,000 --> 01:40:50,439 Speaker 2: breaking down the niners dominant effort against the Eagles, and 2219 01:40:50,479 --> 01:40:53,760 Speaker 2: then Monday night football and news recap. I'm sure there 2220 01:40:53,800 --> 01:40:55,560 Speaker 2: will be maybe some follow up to everything we just 2221 01:40:55,600 --> 01:40:57,439 Speaker 2: talked about here coming out of Lamba. 2222 01:40:58,000 --> 01:40:59,920 Speaker 5: Until then, you know what you got to do. 2223 01:41:04,640 --> 01:41:05,160 Speaker 8: He the call.
