1
00:00:00,819 --> 00:00:05,909
Speaker 1: Hey, I'm Nile Rodgers. I'm a producer, songwriter, guitarist, and

2
00:00:05,950 --> 00:00:09,330
Speaker 1: arranger who co-founded the group Chic and went on to

3
00:00:09,369 --> 00:00:12,230
Speaker 1: work with some of the biggest artists in music history.

4
00:00:14,460 --> 00:00:19,610
Speaker 1: This is Before the Moment, a Lincoln Original Series. This fall,

5
00:00:19,770 --> 00:00:22,470
Speaker 1: I'll be driving across the country, dropping in on some

6
00:00:22,489 --> 00:00:26,210
Speaker 1: of the most fascinating and coolest artists working today. We're

7
00:00:26,250 --> 00:00:29,430
Speaker 1: going to go deep into their lives and careers and

8
00:00:29,510 --> 00:00:32,250
Speaker 1: bring you the story of what it was like before

9
00:00:32,270 --> 00:00:35,990
Speaker 1: the moment that made them. From hit makers like Miguel.

10
00:00:36,409 --> 00:00:39,110
Speaker 2: Finishing that record was the hardest experience of my life,

11
00:00:39,830 --> 00:00:43,480
Speaker 2: regardless of how everyone else buys into this.

12
00:00:43,500 --> 00:00:46,199
Speaker 1: I believe in this and I'm going to push. To

13
00:00:46,300 --> 00:00:48,339
Speaker 1: rising stars like Alex Warren.

14
00:00:48,790 --> 00:00:50,910
Speaker 3: You know, a song is a story, and the verse

15
00:00:50,930 --> 00:00:53,210
Speaker 3: is setting the scene. And for me, at least, it's

16
00:00:53,250 --> 00:00:55,910
Speaker 3: allowing me to be personal and vulnerable with the audience.

17
00:00:56,070 --> 00:00:58,170
Speaker 3: It's almost like a cinematic piece in a way where

18
00:00:58,230 --> 00:01:00,850
Speaker 3: each song tells that beautiful story.

19
00:01:01,250 --> 00:01:05,170
Speaker 1: Experience Before the Moment, a Lincoln Original Series on the

20
00:01:05,330 --> 00:01:10,000
Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's

21
00:01:10,030 --> 00:01:12,100
Speaker 1: going to be a hell of a trip. See you

22
00:01:12,140 --> 00:01:12,720
Speaker 1: guys soon.
