I'm like, let me just 0:12:07.920 --> 0:12:11.360 sit in this bed right now. Oh my gosh. But there's so 0:12:57.000 --> 0:13:00.400 many different levels of healing in order for us to 0:13:00.440 --> 0:13:04.560 even get to that. You can't ask someone to buy pass, 0:13:05.160 --> 0:13:07.959 you know, their pain of what they're feeling from their 0:13:08.000 --> 0:13:11.040 experience of being black in America, right, Oh no, but 0:13:11.040 --> 0:13:14.199 we're no, I'm not going to get there until I 0:13:14.280 --> 0:13:19.120 heal all of these things, these ancestral things, like for instance, 0:13:19.200 --> 0:13:24.040 I had this experience where this person contacted me and 0:13:24.120 --> 0:13:27.319 asked me to create these things, you know, for this 0:13:27.440 --> 0:13:30.200 big event. And I was like, oh, yeah, absolutely, and 0:13:30.240 --> 0:13:33.000 I created them. And then she told me after or 0:13:33.240 --> 0:13:36.160 my team created them, right, so it's my time, my resources. 0:13:36.360 --> 0:13:39.480 She told me after that they weren't able to be 0:13:39.559 --> 0:13:42.040 vetted in time and something like that. And so I 0:13:42.080 --> 0:13:47.160 sat there for a moment and I was feeling so triggered, 0:13:47.800 --> 0:13:51.640 Like yeah, so triggered, And I was like, why are 0:13:51.640 --> 0:13:55.200 you so triggered about this Anita like, what is that? 0:13:55.360 --> 0:14:02.280 I mean tears like anger, and I was like, I know, 0:14:02.360 --> 0:14:07.760 it's not just about this, right, And I realized it 0:14:07.840 --> 0:14:10.360 was about because to me it felt like I did 0:14:10.480 --> 0:14:14.280 work for a white person and they didn't pay me. 0:14:14.720 --> 0:14:17.400 And I not only did work, I did work and 0:14:17.520 --> 0:14:20.760 I used my resources to have someone design things, you know, 0:14:20.800 --> 0:14:25.520 like it was a whole uful thing. And so I 0:14:25.560 --> 0:14:29.640 don't know if before twenty twenty I would have allowed 0:14:29.680 --> 0:14:33.920 myself to feel those triggers, right like, I probably would 0:14:33.920 --> 0:14:36.320 have been annoyed and then just moved on and did 0:14:36.360 --> 0:14:39.960 something else. But it was almost as if I couldn't 0:14:39.960 --> 0:14:42.880 help it. And so when I went into my own 0:14:42.880 --> 0:14:46.600 self counseling about it, it did. It went into those 0:14:46.600 --> 0:14:51.320 wounds of slavery. And so basically, once I had cleared 0:14:51.400 --> 0:14:54.920 that and went into that, I was able to respond 0:14:55.840 --> 0:14:59.840 without the emotional triggers, but also allow this person to 0:15:00.080 --> 0:15:04.240 know what she did, because it's especially within the millennials, 0:15:04.240 --> 0:15:06.560 there are so many people who are trying to be 0:15:06.800 --> 0:15:10.200 woke and triab to through this work. And you know, 0:15:10.240 --> 0:15:12.560 one of the things she wanted to vet was make 0:15:12.600 --> 0:15:16.440 sure that I had people of color within my organization 0:15:16.520 --> 0:15:20.240 and another organization that I raise money for.
