That's g E T B E V 49 00:02:24,200 --> 00:02:28,680 Speaker 3: E L dot com. All right, we'll get into some 50 00:02:28,760 --> 00:02:33,400 Speaker 3: news and stuff. Oh, all kinds of things have been happening. 51 00:02:33,480 --> 00:02:38,880 Speaker 3: I guess, first and foremost, there was an explosion, intentional 52 00:02:38,880 --> 00:02:41,880 Speaker 3: explosion in New York, which is weird because like they 53 00:02:41,919 --> 00:02:47,400 Speaker 3: had another explosion that happened in New Jersey at like 54 00:02:47,440 --> 00:02:51,880 Speaker 3: this military marathon thing. Nobody got injured because it sound 55 00:02:51,960 --> 00:02:54,760 Speaker 3: it seemed like this trash can bomb or whatever pipe 56 00:02:54,760 --> 00:02:55,600 Speaker 3: bomb in the trash can. 57 00:02:56,040 --> 00:02:58,280 Speaker 2: It went off early and so people weren't injured. 58 00:02:58,720 --> 00:03:02,800 Speaker 3: And then in New York same day, which about ninety 59 00:03:02,800 --> 00:03:08,480 Speaker 3: minutes away, there was this intentional explosion that injured twenty 60 00:03:08,560 --> 00:03:12,240 Speaker 3: nine people. Now, no one died, and I believe everyone's 61 00:03:12,280 --> 00:03:17,839 Speaker 3: being released from the hospital as of now. But that's 62 00:03:17,840 --> 00:03:21,519 Speaker 3: not like that might be the same person, yeah, or 63 00:03:21,800 --> 00:03:25,720 Speaker 3: you know, yeah, maybe a person or terrorism or something. 64 00:03:25,760 --> 00:03:26,240 Speaker 2: I don't know. 65 00:03:27,680 --> 00:03:31,079 Speaker 3: At any rate, everybody's out and they're okay and stuff. 66 00:03:31,520 --> 00:03:35,520 Speaker 3: I'm assuming if they've been released from the hospital, but yeah, 67 00:03:35,680 --> 00:03:40,160 Speaker 3: it was an explosion. They also said they had turned 68 00:03:40,200 --> 00:03:43,160 Speaker 3: up a secondary device four blocks away, consisting of a 69 00:03:43,160 --> 00:03:46,000 Speaker 3: pressure cooker with wires attached to it. So it's just 70 00:03:46,080 --> 00:03:51,880 Speaker 3: like the Boston marathon bombs that was set off, reported 71 00:03:52,240 --> 00:03:55,960 Speaker 3: they said, seeing insight and law enforcements for sources reported 72 00:03:56,000 --> 00:03:57,760 Speaker 3: that a piece of paper was writing on it was 73 00:03:57,760 --> 00:04:01,400 Speaker 3: found nearby. Residents living there by vibes stay away from 74 00:04:01,440 --> 00:04:03,880 Speaker 3: windows facing the street as a precaution. 75 00:04:05,080 --> 00:04:07,080 Speaker 2: Uh, put that in the front of Time. 76 00:04:07,120 --> 00:04:10,560 Speaker 1: It is the Time magazine. The fu out of here. 77 00:04:11,440 --> 00:04:13,440 Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't know, man. 78 00:04:14,840 --> 00:04:19,720 Speaker 3: Said One person was seriously injured, but I guess everybody 79 00:04:19,720 --> 00:04:20,479 Speaker 3: else was. 80 00:04:20,560 --> 00:04:26,679 Speaker 2: Okay, So there you go. Uh, you know, get 106 00:07:03,240 --> 00:07:05,800 Speaker 3: treated even the worst of you know, the worst of 107 00:07:05,880 --> 00:07:07,239 Speaker 3: the worst. 108 00:07:07,680 --> 00:07:10,720 Speaker 2: A transgender woman was stabbed one hundred and nineteen times. 109 00:07:11,160 --> 00:07:13,840 Speaker 2: God damn mm hm you. 110 00:07:15,120 --> 00:07:18,000 Speaker 1: I don't put like this. You stab somebody that much? 111 00:07:18,000 --> 00:07:21,760 Speaker 1: It's some hatred in now, I'm sorry. Did this with 112 00:07:22,040 --> 00:07:28,240 Speaker 1: no flashing the bucket? No? Nah, you you really? There 113 00:07:28,280 --> 00:07:30,640 Speaker 1: was some passion behind that, and it only passion doesn't 114 00:07:30,640 --> 00:07:32,680 Speaker 1: always have to be sexual, But there was some emotions 115 00:07:32,720 --> 00:07:34,560 Speaker 1: behind that. M m m h. 116 00:07:35,280 --> 00:07:43,679 Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred and nineteen times. I mean yeah, no excuses, no, right, 117 00:07:43,800 --> 00:07:49,000 Speaker 3: there's no reasoning left for that. Oh wait, I gotta 118 00:07:49,080 --> 00:07:50,760 Speaker 3: turn up the volume. I forgot because they have an 119 00:07:50,840 --> 00:07:55,320 Speaker 3: article attached to this one. I forgot how silenced this yesterday? 120 00:07:56,920 --> 00:07:58,240 Speaker 3: Let me see if that worked. 121 00:07:58,560 --> 00:08:01,120 Speaker 5: Alan was the soul witness to take the stand during 122 00:08:01,200 --> 00:08:05,920 Speaker 5: Dewanya Hickerson's preliminary hearing. He says autopsy results showed that 123 00:08:05,960 --> 00:08:09,640 Speaker 5: Wiggam was stabbed one hundred and nineteen times, mostly to 124 00:08:09,720 --> 00:08:12,680 Speaker 5: her face, and her throat was slashed three times. 125 00:08:13,040 --> 00:08:14,280 Speaker 2: Alan says the murder. 126 00:08:14,080 --> 00:08:18,160 Speaker 5: Weapon was a ten inched fixed blade gerber knife. Alan 127 00:08:18,200 --> 00:08:20,880 Speaker 5: says surveillance video taking at the Best Western Hotel in 128 00:08:20,960 --> 00:08:24,679 Speaker 5: Saint Martin shows Hickerson and Wigham walking into the hotel 129 00:08:24,760 --> 00:08:28,640 Speaker 5: room together around eight thirty pm. Alan told the court 130 00:08:28,680 --> 00:08:32,160 Speaker 5: that about twenty three minutes later, Hickerson is seen leaving 131 00:08:32,200 --> 00:08:35,920 Speaker 5: the room alone. As seen on this footage, Alan says 132 00:08:35,960 --> 00:08:38,800 Speaker 5: at nine forty five, Wigham's friends returned to the hotel 133 00:08:38,880 --> 00:08:40,160 Speaker 5: and immediately called. 134 00:08:40,000 --> 00:08:40,640 Speaker 2: Nine one one. 135 00:08:41,240 --> 00:08:43,880 Speaker 5: He says Hickerson took a coach bag belonging to Wiggham, 136 00:08:44,080 --> 00:08:47,040 Speaker 5: as well as her cell phone and a few personal items. 137 00:08:47,280 --> 00:08:49,880 Speaker 5: He says authorities found those items on the beach not 138 00:08:50,080 --> 00:08:52,880 Speaker 5: far from Keysler Air Force Base, and that they found 139 00:08:52,920 --> 00:08:56,120 Speaker 5: Hickerson's bloody clothes in a dumpster not far from his 140 00:08:56,160 --> 00:08:59,000 Speaker 5: barracks on base. They have sent the items to the 141 00:08:59,040 --> 00:09:03,080 Speaker 5: crime lab for ten Alan says investigators are still trying 142 00:09:03,120 --> 00:09:06,920 Speaker 5: to determine the relationship between Hickerson and with them. 143 00:09:07,240 --> 00:09:11,000 Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I mean, one when who knows what the 144 00:09:11,040 --> 00:09:11,839 Speaker 2: relationship is. 145 00:09:11,960 --> 00:09:16,320 Speaker 3: It could be uh, you know, anything, you know, not not, 146 00:09:16,600 --> 00:09:22,360 Speaker 3: I mean, it could be a relationship relationship, it could 147 00:09:22,440 --> 00:09:25,120 Speaker 3: be sex work type thing because I know a lot 148 00:09:25,320 --> 00:09:26,679 Speaker 3: in a lot of cases. 149 00:09:26,880 --> 00:09:28,640 Speaker 2: Uh, transgender people are kind of. 150 00:09:28,559 --> 00:09:32,040 Speaker 3: Forced into that area of life because people won't hire 151 00:09:32,080 --> 00:09:35,400 Speaker 3: them and things like that. Could just be a hate 152 00:09:35,480 --> 00:09:38,200 Speaker 3: just a straight up hate crime, like just for whatever, 153 00:09:38,320 --> 00:09:43,080 Speaker 3: you know. Once again, yeah, once again black man. 154 00:09:43,280 --> 00:09:45,640 Speaker 2: As the person doing. 155 00:09:45,440 --> 00:09:48,080 Speaker 3: This, I'm never gonna try to gloss over that ship 156 00:09:48,160 --> 00:09:54,000 Speaker 3: because it does matter. Oftentimes we try to, like, yeah, 157 00:09:54,240 --> 00:09:56,600 Speaker 3: people try to, you know, well, just this is one dude. 158 00:09:56,640 --> 00:09:59,719 Speaker 3: But I mean, when we're looking at the pattern of 159 00:10:00,280 --> 00:10:04,040 Speaker 3: death in this situation, because we don't know the actual 160 00:10:04,160 --> 00:10:06,600 Speaker 3: numbers of transgender people in the United States because it's 161 00:10:06,600 --> 00:10:09,680 Speaker 3: not in the census, but I'm assuming that the number 162 00:10:09,760 --> 00:10:12,160 Speaker 3: is probably not very high. So when you look at 163 00:10:12,200 --> 00:10:14,920 Speaker 3: how many people are getting killed, it's actually even more 164 00:10:14,960 --> 00:10:20,040 Speaker 3: astounding to think this many, especially transgender women of color, 165 00:10:20,080 --> 00:10:22,000 Speaker 3: are getting killed by black men. 166 00:10:22,160 --> 00:10:24,640 Speaker 2: That's fucking ridiculous. 167 00:10:24,120 --> 00:10:24,320 Speaker 3: You know. 168 00:10:26,120 --> 00:10:27,320 Speaker 2: So yeah, that was one. 169 00:10:29,240 --> 00:10:31,240 Speaker 3: And one hundred and nineteen times, mostly in the face. 170 00:10:31,360 --> 00:10:34,320 Speaker 3: Like that sounds like somebody you know or so just 171 00:10:34,360 --> 00:10:38,679 Speaker 3: a crime of passion or type type thing. A transgender woman, 172 00:10:39,080 --> 00:10:44,520 Speaker 3: Crystal Edmunds was slaying in Baltimore. Another transgender woman of 173 00:10:44,559 --> 00:10:45,920 Speaker 3: color also. 174 00:10:47,600 --> 00:10:49,480 Speaker 2: So yeah, a. 175 00:10:49,440 --> 00:10:51,280 Speaker 3: Black transgender woman with a bullet in the back of 176 00:10:51,320 --> 00:10:54,000 Speaker 3: her head was found by the police three eighteen am, 177 00:10:54,080 --> 00:10:56,480 Speaker 3: believing now on sidewalk at MS didnon the hospital. 178 00:10:56,520 --> 00:10:57,280 Speaker 2: A few hours later. 179 00:10:57,840 --> 00:11:00,480 Speaker 3: Smith told reporters that he was unsh sure whether the 180 00:11:00,559 --> 00:11:02,640 Speaker 3: Edmonds identity is a transgender one player the role in 181 00:11:02,720 --> 00:11:05,280 Speaker 3: the death. I heard the shots. Since there's getting so bad, 182 00:11:05,280 --> 00:11:07,000 Speaker 3: I heard the shots, and then my cousin called me 183 00:11:07,040 --> 00:11:10,439 Speaker 3: and she said that said she called the police. Sondra Johnson, 184 00:11:10,480 --> 00:11:14,080 Speaker 3: a resident of Northwest Baltimore toe WBA L residents and police, 185 00:11:14,080 --> 00:11:16,840 Speaker 3: said the area is notorious for sex work, though they 186 00:11:16,840 --> 00:11:19,480 Speaker 3: are unsure it's sex work played a role in this death. 187 00:11:20,440 --> 00:11:23,439 Speaker 3: We've had some complaints about prostitution, Smith Tooe reporters. We 188 00:11:23,559 --> 00:11:26,040 Speaker 3: have some complaints about some illegal activities. So that's part 189 00:11:26,080 --> 00:11:28,640 Speaker 3: of our investigation. We're not prepared to say that played 190 00:11:28,640 --> 00:11:30,440 Speaker 3: a direct role in this, but it's certainly something we 191 00:11:30,480 --> 00:11:33,840 Speaker 3: will follow up as a possible lead. According to the 192 00:11:33,840 --> 00:11:36,319 Speaker 3: Baltimore Police Twitter account, they are offering the two thousand 193 00:11:36,360 --> 00:11:37,240 Speaker 3: dollars reward. 194 00:11:36,960 --> 00:11:38,720 Speaker 2: For any information leading to arrest. 195 00:11:40,800 --> 00:11:44,440 Speaker 3: Yeah, and who knows, you know who, who knows what 196 00:11:44,559 --> 00:11:47,560 Speaker 3: happened out there, But we do know that another transgender 197 00:11:47,640 --> 00:11:48,520 Speaker 3: woman of color dead. 198 00:11:50,640 --> 00:11:52,120 Speaker 2: Let's see, there's another one. 199 00:11:52,240 --> 00:11:54,880 Speaker 3: To just get this all out of the way now, 200 00:11:55,960 --> 00:11:59,480 Speaker 3: I mean, it's all you know, all this to make 201 00:11:59,520 --> 00:12:05,000 Speaker 3: a pointments second, any rate, there's been an arrest for 202 00:12:05,240 --> 00:12:09,200 Speaker 3: a July killing of a transgender woman, h DENIQUEA. 203 00:12:09,480 --> 00:12:09,840 Speaker 2: Dodge. 204 00:12:10,720 --> 00:12:18,360 Speaker 3: On Thursday, police arrested Sharim Hall of the July four 205 00:12:18,440 --> 00:12:21,160 Speaker 3: shooting for the July four shooting of a transgender woman, 206 00:12:21,200 --> 00:12:25,360 Speaker 3: Deniquill Dodds. NBC Washington reports Dodds died nine days after 207 00:12:25,400 --> 00:12:27,280 Speaker 3: she was shot in our likelihood. 208 00:12:27,280 --> 00:12:29,080 Speaker 2: We believe the motive in this case was robbery. 209 00:12:29,720 --> 00:12:31,880 Speaker 3: So and for the record, it could have been robbery 210 00:12:31,920 --> 00:12:33,680 Speaker 3: in that first person we talked about because it sounded 211 00:12:33,720 --> 00:12:38,080 Speaker 3: like that dude stole the phone and items and shit. 212 00:12:39,679 --> 00:12:41,920 Speaker 2: But even then, the reason you. 213 00:12:41,880 --> 00:12:44,920 Speaker 3: Picked targets in a lot of these cases because either 214 00:12:45,040 --> 00:12:48,880 Speaker 3: you don't think people will investigate, you don't think. 215 00:12:48,720 --> 00:12:52,240 Speaker 2: People will take it seriously. We've seen the sentencing for these. 216 00:12:52,520 --> 00:12:55,240 Speaker 1: Right and truth be told. Let's just keep this real. 217 00:12:55,360 --> 00:13:00,000 Speaker 1: I know, you know, black people's lives aren't valued at all, 218 00:13:00,800 --> 00:13:03,720 Speaker 1: but black women's how's that valued even less? And that's 219 00:13:03,760 --> 00:13:06,160 Speaker 1: something that you know, people don't want to talk about 220 00:13:06,160 --> 00:13:09,200 Speaker 1: when it comes to a lot of this ship. You know, 221 00:13:09,280 --> 00:13:12,359 Speaker 1: it's one of these things where brown deale. 222 00:13:12,200 --> 00:13:16,120 Speaker 2: Well, black transgender women are even less, like. 223 00:13:16,120 --> 00:13:20,000 Speaker 3: We saw that makes it yeah, I know, but I 224 00:13:20,040 --> 00:13:22,880 Speaker 3: think the court sees the difference. I think it matters 225 00:13:23,320 --> 00:13:26,280 Speaker 3: because that you know, we've seen cases where it's like, yeah, 226 00:13:26,280 --> 00:13:29,160 Speaker 3: you're guilty five years of. 227 00:13:29,440 --> 00:13:31,240 Speaker 2: For murder, like you killed somebody. 228 00:13:31,280 --> 00:13:34,280 Speaker 3: It's like, oh, yeah, well, you know the whole transgender thing. 229 00:13:34,320 --> 00:13:37,640 Speaker 3: I mean three years, five years, seven years like that, 230 00:13:37,960 --> 00:13:42,559 Speaker 3: Like you wouldn't do that for a person that was cisgender, 231 00:13:42,600 --> 00:13:44,560 Speaker 3: you wouldn't you know what I mean, It's just not 232 00:13:44,640 --> 00:13:47,600 Speaker 3: that not when you're guilty of murdering them, you wouldn't 233 00:13:47,640 --> 00:13:49,600 Speaker 3: be like and then you get five years. It's fucking 234 00:13:49,760 --> 00:13:54,600 Speaker 3: that's that's't that's ridiculous. So, yeah, they think that it 235 00:13:54,679 --> 00:13:58,240 Speaker 3: was a case of a robbery. Hall was charged with 236 00:13:58,320 --> 00:14:03,640 Speaker 3: murder while armed. Uh Newsham said hate crime charges and 237 00:14:03,760 --> 00:14:07,720 Speaker 3: enhanced penalty will be serious consideration. According to new Sham, 238 00:14:07,840 --> 00:14:13,960 Speaker 3: Hall did not know Dodgs, so they don't know if 239 00:14:15,640 --> 00:14:18,640 Speaker 3: so maybe they don't know if he knew her orientation 240 00:14:18,800 --> 00:14:21,360 Speaker 3: or whatever. Whenever we lose a life in the city, 241 00:14:21,400 --> 00:14:24,280 Speaker 3: we take it personally. We want folks to know that 242 00:14:24,320 --> 00:14:26,240 Speaker 3: we are going to continue to work to make sure 243 00:14:26,320 --> 00:14:28,280 Speaker 3: the whole people are responsible for this kind of violence 244 00:14:28,320 --> 00:14:31,440 Speaker 3: in our streets. At the time of her death, Ruby Corrado, 245 00:14:31,600 --> 00:14:35,000 Speaker 3: the founder and executive director of Washington DC transgender advocacy 246 00:14:35,080 --> 00:14:38,680 Speaker 3: organization Castle Ruby, said in a statement to Mike that 247 00:14:38,880 --> 00:14:42,400 Speaker 3: Dniquia was part of the Castle Ruby family and she 248 00:14:42,560 --> 00:14:43,840 Speaker 3: is gone but not forgotten. 249 00:14:43,840 --> 00:14:45,120 Speaker 2: Her death will not be in vain. 250 00:14:45,760 --> 00:14:49,000 Speaker 3: Corrado added, Castle Ruby the anouncis the genocide of young 251 00:14:49,040 --> 00:14:51,920 Speaker 3: trans women of color. People in leadership need to address 252 00:14:51,920 --> 00:14:54,120 Speaker 3: the employment barriers to keep trans women of color from 253 00:14:54,120 --> 00:14:57,280 Speaker 3: accessing the resources they need to grow healthy and thrive. 254 00:14:59,560 --> 00:15:03,480 Speaker 3: Joanne Lewis, who raised Dodds, worried about her safety because 255 00:15:03,520 --> 00:15:06,160 Speaker 3: Dodds was evolved in sex work. She described as a 256 00:15:06,160 --> 00:15:08,840 Speaker 3: beautiful person who loved to make you laugh. When Dodds 257 00:15:08,880 --> 00:15:11,720 Speaker 3: was killed in July, she was the fourteenth novel transgender 258 00:15:12,240 --> 00:15:15,440 Speaker 3: or gender non conforming person killed in twenty sixteen. Now, 259 00:15:15,480 --> 00:15:18,400 Speaker 3: with Friday's news of the death of Baltimore's Crystal Edmonds, 260 00:15:18,640 --> 00:15:20,600 Speaker 3: the number is raised in twenty one, which matches the 261 00:15:20,640 --> 00:15:23,720 Speaker 3: total number of deaths from twenty fifteen. And it's just 262 00:15:24,440 --> 00:15:30,720 Speaker 3: we just got into September. So yeah, that's all terrible. 263 00:15:30,800 --> 00:15:33,760 Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think the thing for me, excuse mean, 264 00:15:33,760 --> 00:15:39,880 Speaker 1: that frustrates me is that there are black transgender people, 265 00:15:40,600 --> 00:15:45,800 Speaker 1: and you're right, if it was a normal, I guess 266 00:15:45,960 --> 00:15:50,480 Speaker 1: considered straight person, even though it's hard for us to 267 00:15:50,520 --> 00:15:53,240 Speaker 1: get hate crimes, it's a lot of times they were like, okay, 268 00:15:53,280 --> 00:15:55,880 Speaker 1: that's right there, you did this because they're black. But 269 00:15:55,960 --> 00:15:59,080 Speaker 1: for some reason, when it comes to transgender you don't 270 00:15:59,160 --> 00:16:01,840 Speaker 1: want to label things is a hate crime when it's 271 00:16:01,920 --> 00:16:04,480 Speaker 1: laid out flat in front of your face. They did 272 00:16:04,520 --> 00:16:06,760 Speaker 1: this because this person's sexual orientation. 273 00:16:06,840 --> 00:16:07,320 Speaker 2: Possibly. 274 00:16:07,400 --> 00:16:10,240 Speaker 3: I mean one, I understand hate crimes are hard to prove. 275 00:16:10,520 --> 00:16:12,960 Speaker 3: I definitely understand that if the person doesn't come out 276 00:16:13,000 --> 00:16:16,320 Speaker 3: and say I did this for this reason. But in 277 00:16:16,320 --> 00:16:18,960 Speaker 3: some cases it's flat out of hate crime, Like like, 278 00:16:19,040 --> 00:16:21,400 Speaker 3: I don't know about these cases we just said. If 279 00:16:21,440 --> 00:16:24,800 Speaker 3: I'm being undercent honest, if you don't know the victim, 280 00:16:25,000 --> 00:16:27,840 Speaker 3: if all this other shit, I don't know, it's hard. 281 00:16:28,000 --> 00:16:30,160 Speaker 3: It is hard for me to believe it had nothing 282 00:16:30,200 --> 00:16:32,120 Speaker 3: to do with it. It's very difficult for me to 283 00:16:32,160 --> 00:16:35,880 Speaker 3: believe in a lot of cases, right, and in a 284 00:16:35,920 --> 00:16:38,680 Speaker 3: lot of cases when it comes to like the sexual 285 00:16:38,760 --> 00:16:39,840 Speaker 3: part of it. 286 00:16:40,320 --> 00:16:41,560 Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of. 287 00:16:41,680 --> 00:16:46,320 Speaker 3: Men who hate women, who hate LGBTQ folks. They'll have 288 00:16:46,400 --> 00:16:49,560 Speaker 3: sex with a person that's LGBTQ. They'll have sex with 289 00:16:49,960 --> 00:16:53,360 Speaker 3: a woman, but then that rage and shit, they'll kill 290 00:16:53,440 --> 00:16:56,640 Speaker 3: somebody because of what they think that says about them. 291 00:16:56,840 --> 00:16:59,920 Speaker 1: You know, it's still other person and more about them. 292 00:17:00,040 --> 00:17:03,200 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's was still ultimately a selfish hate field crime. 293 00:17:03,520 --> 00:17:07,440 Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know, if it's always cut 294 00:17:07,440 --> 00:17:09,280 Speaker 3: and dry. I mean, we had that case a couple 295 00:17:09,280 --> 00:17:12,440 Speaker 3: of months ago where this man who was living with 296 00:17:12,760 --> 00:17:18,760 Speaker 3: the this transgender woman's mom, uh basically killed this transgender woman, 297 00:17:18,880 --> 00:17:20,560 Speaker 3: called her the devil and all this shit, and the 298 00:17:20,640 --> 00:17:22,920 Speaker 3: house seemed to be like just this really shitty place 299 00:17:22,960 --> 00:17:27,520 Speaker 3: to live. And even in that case, they were like, yeah, 300 00:17:27,520 --> 00:17:29,360 Speaker 3: we can't say it's a hate crime. It's like, well, 301 00:17:29,359 --> 00:17:31,360 Speaker 3: they called her, they call her devil all the. 302 00:17:31,280 --> 00:17:33,720 Speaker 2: Time, they misgendered her in death. 303 00:17:33,800 --> 00:17:39,480 Speaker 3: They like, it seems like they completely put an environment 304 00:17:39,480 --> 00:17:43,160 Speaker 3: of hate around her and then one of them killed her. 305 00:17:43,200 --> 00:17:44,400 Speaker 3: How's that not a hate crime? 306 00:17:44,520 --> 00:17:46,920 Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's just that And and it's funny though 307 00:17:47,000 --> 00:17:49,760 Speaker 1: they kind of treated like with black people in racism, 308 00:17:50,080 --> 00:17:53,520 Speaker 1: it's like, well, you ain't call them a nigger and 309 00:17:53,680 --> 00:17:56,199 Speaker 1: hang a form a tree and get a mob, so 310 00:17:56,440 --> 00:17:58,640 Speaker 1: is it really racism. It's one of these things where 311 00:17:59,119 --> 00:18:03,840 Speaker 1: well you did you didn't call them name zan, you know. 312 00:18:04,600 --> 00:18:06,919 Speaker 1: So as far as because we're not taking it seriously, 313 00:18:06,960 --> 00:18:10,600 Speaker 1: it's like, but motherfucker's seriously because it's affecting me right now. 314 00:18:11,280 --> 00:18:13,080 Speaker 2: No, it's obvious. I mean they do the same thing 315 00:18:13,080 --> 00:18:14,840 Speaker 2: with black ha crime they do the same thing. What 316 00:18:15,080 --> 00:18:16,119 Speaker 2: the what did he. 317 00:18:16,119 --> 00:18:18,040 Speaker 3: Say, nigga when he punched you in the faces? Like, well, 318 00:18:18,040 --> 00:18:19,920 Speaker 3: they did this because I'm black. And it's like, well 319 00:18:19,920 --> 00:18:22,199 Speaker 3: you can't prove it, you know, I don't know what 320 00:18:22,240 --> 00:18:26,880 Speaker 3: you do with this. I was born polygamoust outrageous Muslim 321 00:18:26,920 --> 00:18:31,040 Speaker 3: who runs Second Wife dating site says wanting multiple partners 322 00:18:31,040 --> 00:18:38,440 Speaker 3: as naturalists being gay. Oh yeah, I 324 00:18:41,040 --> 00:18:42,200 Speaker 3: signed up the other day. 325 00:18:46,400 --> 00:18:48,640 Speaker 1: Oh hope you're getting one. Men don't 336 00:19:08,840 --> 00:19:10,840 Speaker 3: want to be with one woman. I don't want to 337 00:19:10,880 --> 00:19:12,720 Speaker 3: be with the saying, and I just look, I just 338 00:19:12,720 --> 00:19:15,120 Speaker 3: want to fuck and love and be married to everybody. 339 00:19:15,440 --> 00:19:18,080 Speaker 3: Like it's always like the man is king in the house, 340 00:19:18,119 --> 00:19:21,080 Speaker 3: and if he wants to have seventeen lines, if he 341 00:19:21,119 --> 00:19:22,000 Speaker 3: can afford. 342 00:19:21,760 --> 00:19:23,159 Speaker 2: It, that's all that matters. 343 00:19:23,240 --> 00:19:26,520 Speaker 3: Like it's always like and that person always gets to 344 00:19:26,520 --> 00:19:29,800 Speaker 3: be the spokesperson, because there's plenty of polyamorists and polygamous 345 00:19:29,880 --> 00:19:32,280 Speaker 3: relationships and marriages that that work. 346 00:19:32,400 --> 00:19:34,480 Speaker 2: But those people don't seem to be like wanting to. 347 00:19:34,400 --> 00:19:36,000 Speaker 3: Go on the Day Show, or maybe they just don't 348 00:19:36,000 --> 00:19:38,760 Speaker 3: get asked to be on the Today Show to represent 349 00:19:38,800 --> 00:19:41,200 Speaker 3: because they're not going to have its controversial views because 350 00:19:41,480 --> 00:19:43,720 Speaker 3: it's a lot more like people can do what they want, 351 00:19:43,760 --> 00:19:48,399 Speaker 3: you know, as opposed to listen, all men have a 352 00:19:48,480 --> 00:19:50,160 Speaker 3: lot of seeds in them and they need to plan 353 00:19:50,240 --> 00:19:54,600 Speaker 3: them and all the women. Pierce Morgan called him a 354 00:19:54,600 --> 00:19:57,360 Speaker 3: bit randy and called the site back door sharia law. 355 00:19:58,760 --> 00:20:01,400 Speaker 2: Way to make it worse here, Jesus christ. 356 00:20:02,000 --> 00:20:05,080 Speaker 3: Aliah Brown, a site member, defended the woman's choice to 357 00:20:05,080 --> 00:20:05,840 Speaker 3: be a second wife. 358 00:20:07,119 --> 00:20:08,880 Speaker 2: I personally have no problem. 359 00:20:08,560 --> 00:20:13,080 Speaker 3: With people in poly relationships. I think it's a little 360 00:20:13,080 --> 00:20:18,040 Speaker 3: gamy when you see dudes talking like this about how 361 00:20:18,080 --> 00:20:21,240 Speaker 3: it's just men that need to be having the number 362 00:20:21,320 --> 00:20:24,920 Speaker 3: numerous wives and that seems a little weird in my opinion. 363 00:20:25,800 --> 00:20:28,959 Speaker 3: There's always this assumption that women's sexuality is completely different 364 00:20:29,000 --> 00:20:33,560 Speaker 3: and devoted to one person and only men would look 365 00:20:33,560 --> 00:20:35,720 Speaker 3: at another person that want to fuck them or marry 366 00:20:35,720 --> 00:20:38,600 Speaker 3: them or fall in love with them or whatever or 367 00:20:38,840 --> 00:20:39,479 Speaker 3: take care of them. 368 00:20:39,520 --> 00:20:42,400 Speaker 2: Because it's always like it's always like. 369 00:20:44,320 --> 00:20:48,800 Speaker 3: Found it and it's weird, like men take care of women, think, 370 00:20:49,160 --> 00:20:52,840 Speaker 3: but but we haven't really had that in so long, 371 00:20:52,960 --> 00:20:55,679 Speaker 3: Like this isn't I have to have three wives so 372 00:20:55,720 --> 00:21:00,000 Speaker 3: that we can have enough children to play the farm, yeah, 373 00:21:00,119 --> 00:21:03,080 Speaker 3: to plant the crops and shit when we're sixty and 374 00:21:03,119 --> 00:21:06,080 Speaker 3: we can basically have them do all the work. Like 375 00:21:06,200 --> 00:21:09,679 Speaker 3: it's just like it's not that anymore. So you know, 376 00:21:09,720 --> 00:21:11,639 Speaker 3: there's not a war going on where it's like we 377 00:21:11,720 --> 00:21:15,560 Speaker 3: need to pro create enough soldiers at some point, so 378 00:21:15,600 --> 00:21:17,800 Speaker 3: we need to I have to have seven wives to 379 00:21:17,840 --> 00:21:20,680 Speaker 3: protect the orphans and the children that have not been 380 00:21:20,720 --> 00:21:22,480 Speaker 3: you know. It's not that it's just a lot of 381 00:21:22,560 --> 00:21:25,520 Speaker 3: like I'm trying to fuck me some women's you know. 382 00:21:25,920 --> 00:21:29,119 Speaker 3: So it just seems kind of weird. But you know, 383 00:21:29,800 --> 00:21:32,120 Speaker 3: if you find people that to sign up for it, 384 00:21:32,480 --> 00:21:33,879 Speaker 3: good good good luck for you. 385 00:21:33,960 --> 00:21:34,160 Speaker 2: Man. 386 00:21:37,000 --> 00:21:40,080 Speaker 3: And I don't know about being born polygamis, I would 387 00:21:40,440 --> 00:21:44,679 Speaker 3: that like equating it with being born gay scenes weird 388 00:21:44,920 --> 00:21:48,600 Speaker 3: and then especially if he's Muslim, and then I want 389 00:21:48,640 --> 00:21:50,720 Speaker 3: to ask, like, so, how what are your feelings towards 390 00:21:50,800 --> 00:21:51,240 Speaker 3: gay people? 391 00:21:51,280 --> 00:21:51,440 Speaker 7: Then? 392 00:21:52,119 --> 00:21:54,200 Speaker 2: Is it a sin? Is it? Like? 393 00:21:54,320 --> 00:21:57,359 Speaker 3: Do you with your open mindedness towards polygamy? But yeah, that happened. 502 00:27:45,480 --> 00:27:49,240 Speaker 3: The first Republican legislator to seek HB two repeal, Wakes. 503 00:27:49,320 --> 00:27:55,680 Speaker 3: Senator Tamor Barringer, came out against HB two after right 504 00:27:55,680 --> 00:28:01,520 Speaker 3: after cost the state my state, North Carolina, bunch of money, A. 505 00:28:01,520 --> 00:28:04,840 Speaker 1: Whole bunch of money, y'all. We losing money like crazy. 506 00:28:05,440 --> 00:28:08,879 Speaker 1: One Ever, every nine people that live in Meccanburg County 507 00:28:09,000 --> 00:28:12,040 Speaker 1: is associated with this particular the city of Charlotte. It's 508 00:28:12,119 --> 00:28:16,680 Speaker 1: associated with some form of the hospitalogy hotel of food industry. 509 00:28:16,840 --> 00:28:19,720 Speaker 1: That is a lot of goddamn people. And you have 510 00:28:21,440 --> 00:28:25,359 Speaker 1: these things that are leaving and disappearing. You have people 511 00:28:25,600 --> 00:28:29,600 Speaker 1: that bookshit like months and months and sometimes renew shit 512 00:28:29,800 --> 00:28:32,760 Speaker 1: for the next year because they ALMOSTO I guarantee this money. 513 00:28:32,960 --> 00:28:35,280 Speaker 1: And so when people start counseling, a lot of times 514 00:28:35,280 --> 00:28:38,960 Speaker 1: you get pfees and penalties because sometimes you know that 515 00:28:39,120 --> 00:28:41,600 Speaker 1: you know, you get these these venues for those of 516 00:28:41,640 --> 00:28:43,760 Speaker 1: you know that don't know understand how the business goes, 517 00:28:43,800 --> 00:28:47,680 Speaker 1: and they'll say, you know, you can't counsel thirty days 518 00:28:47,720 --> 00:28:49,800 Speaker 1: or forty days. However it is so some people are 519 00:28:49,880 --> 00:28:53,000 Speaker 1: just counseling, and people can't get that money back. So 520 00:28:53,080 --> 00:28:55,320 Speaker 1: this is money that you invested you can't get back. 521 00:28:55,520 --> 00:28:57,760 Speaker 1: These are venues you put money down on that you 522 00:28:57,800 --> 00:29:00,960 Speaker 1: can't get back, particularly that football one, because that football 523 00:29:01,000 --> 00:29:04,400 Speaker 1: one was huge here. The College Bowl they do at 524 00:29:04,400 --> 00:29:08,280 Speaker 1: the Bank of American Stadium. It is huge here because 525 00:29:08,320 --> 00:29:11,360 Speaker 1: I mean it literally sells out schools kind of come. 526 00:29:11,400 --> 00:29:13,760 Speaker 1: I know, a lot of times West Virginia gets I've 527 00:29:13,760 --> 00:29:16,120 Speaker 1: seen West Virginia several years, and so you have all 528 00:29:16,160 --> 00:29:18,680 Speaker 1: the people to travel. Now only does it benefit North Carolina, 529 00:29:18,720 --> 00:29:22,360 Speaker 1: it literally benefits South Carolina too, because like where we're at, 530 00:29:22,360 --> 00:29:24,920 Speaker 1: we're at the border of North Carolina and South Carolina. 531 00:29:24,960 --> 00:29:29,400 Speaker 1: So a lot of people who maybe you know the 532 00:29:29,520 --> 00:29:32,480 Speaker 1: North Carolina is packed a book, will actually go down 533 00:29:32,480 --> 00:29:34,680 Speaker 1: to a foot mill or rock Hill and you know 534 00:29:34,800 --> 00:29:37,760 Speaker 1: some of the surrounding counties and they end up profiting 535 00:29:37,760 --> 00:29:40,360 Speaker 1: and benefiting off of us too. So all of a sudden, 536 00:29:40,520 --> 00:29:43,400 Speaker 1: you're affecting the economy more North Carolina, but you're also 537 00:29:43,760 --> 00:29:47,000 Speaker 1: affecting the economy of South Carolina. You're affecting businesses pee 538 00:29:47,000 --> 00:29:49,240 Speaker 1: a lot of times they have seasonal workers, so you 539 00:29:49,320 --> 00:29:52,520 Speaker 1: have people that that that do this money. Right before 540 00:29:52,600 --> 00:29:55,120 Speaker 1: Christmas time, all this money is gone. 541 00:29:55,760 --> 00:29:55,960 Speaker 2: Yep. 542 00:29:59,520 --> 00:30:03,920 Speaker 3: With Oscar college football Championship soccer. Like white sports, by 543 00:30:03,920 --> 00:30:08,080 Speaker 3: the way, that matters a lot. The monotize sports, of course, 544 00:30:08,200 --> 00:30:12,080 Speaker 3: like football and basketball, that matters a lot. I'd say 545 00:30:12,120 --> 00:30:18,560 Speaker 3: college sports are even more of a sacred thing for 546 00:30:18,800 --> 00:30:22,560 Speaker 3: people down in the South, especially Biggest, because it's one 547 00:30:22,560 --> 00:30:24,760 Speaker 3: of the things that if you don't like black people 548 00:30:24,800 --> 00:30:27,280 Speaker 3: you can still kind of support because the way that 549 00:30:27,640 --> 00:30:30,120 Speaker 3: college rules are set up, those kids don't have much 550 00:30:30,160 --> 00:30:32,840 Speaker 3: agency and it's all about the coaches and the programs, 551 00:30:33,400 --> 00:30:36,680 Speaker 3: and you can kind of live in this fantasy world where. 552 00:30:36,760 --> 00:30:37,080 Speaker 2: You know. 553 00:30:39,000 --> 00:30:43,680 Speaker 3: You're enjoying seeing this and white kids are still able 554 00:30:43,720 --> 00:30:47,400 Speaker 3: to contribute at this level for the most part, White 555 00:30:47,440 --> 00:30:52,080 Speaker 3: American boring kids for the most part. So it's it's 556 00:30:52,160 --> 00:30:55,440 Speaker 3: completely looked viewed differently than pro sports. So losing like 557 00:30:55,440 --> 00:30:57,520 Speaker 3: an NBA All Star Game to a lot of these 558 00:30:57,960 --> 00:31:01,480 Speaker 3: bigoted ass motherfuckers, they don't really care, but to lose 559 00:31:01,520 --> 00:31:04,520 Speaker 3: their college basketball and their college football all of a sudden, 560 00:31:04,520 --> 00:31:07,680 Speaker 3: you hit them right in the sweet spot. And uh yeah, 561 00:31:07,680 --> 00:31:10,600 Speaker 3: that's why you have people coming out now saying I 562 00:31:10,640 --> 00:31:13,560 Speaker 3: wanted to be repelled even though I'm a Republican. 563 00:31:13,200 --> 00:31:14,840 Speaker 1: And even though I probably voted for the shit. 564 00:31:15,320 --> 00:31:17,360 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a huge that's a huge break in the 565 00:31:17,440 --> 00:31:21,400 Speaker 3: ranks to say that she did vote for HB two. 566 00:31:21,520 --> 00:31:24,080 Speaker 3: In March, she said she still doesn't want boys of 567 00:31:24,160 --> 00:31:26,719 Speaker 3: men to be able to use women's locker rooms or bathrooms, 568 00:31:28,200 --> 00:31:31,200 Speaker 3: but uh yeah, the money, you know what it is. 569 00:31:31,400 --> 00:31:33,560 Speaker 1: Yeah, because me and Roger talked about this and now 570 00:31:33,640 --> 00:31:35,920 Speaker 1: will continue to say this. They didn't care as long 571 00:31:35,960 --> 00:31:37,680 Speaker 1: as it affect the niggas and as long as it 572 00:31:37,760 --> 00:31:41,320 Speaker 1: affect the LGBTQ. You know, nobody cares about these fucking 573 00:31:41,320 --> 00:31:43,520 Speaker 1: ass loss that you got damn trying to pass. But 574 00:31:43,560 --> 00:31:46,560 Speaker 1: the second it starts affecting your economy and the people 575 00:31:46,600 --> 00:31:48,920 Speaker 1: in your vote district. Because the thing is is what 576 00:31:50,840 --> 00:31:54,440 Speaker 1: uh November, It's time to reallect some of these motherfuckers. 577 00:31:54,440 --> 00:31:57,880 Speaker 1: And they was like, dog, my county's falling apart. We 578 00:31:58,040 --> 00:32:02,000 Speaker 1: have money not coming in. Constituents are like, motherfucker, what 579 00:32:02,040 --> 00:32:05,720 Speaker 1: happened to our money? People that was even vote this 580 00:32:05,840 --> 00:32:08,640 Speaker 1: bill are like nah da because it was never about 581 00:32:08,640 --> 00:32:10,800 Speaker 1: the goddamn bill in the first place. So it's one 582 00:32:10,840 --> 00:32:12,960 Speaker 1: of those things where it was like, Okay, I was 583 00:32:13,000 --> 00:32:15,720 Speaker 1: cool with the bill until the shit started affecting me. 584 00:32:15,880 --> 00:32:20,360 Speaker 1: And the thing is, ships did affects brown people lgbt Q, 585 00:32:20,560 --> 00:32:23,320 Speaker 1: they will eventually affect white people, but white people don't 586 00:32:23,320 --> 00:32:26,200 Speaker 1: see that until it affects them, then they give a fuck. 587 00:32:26,760 --> 00:32:27,800 Speaker 2: Yeah. 588 00:32:28,040 --> 00:32:30,880 Speaker 3: The other thing was Wake County was scheduled the host 589 00:32:30,920 --> 00:32:33,640 Speaker 3: several n C DOUBLEA sporting events that were canceled Monday 590 00:32:34,440 --> 00:32:35,400 Speaker 3: Roddy Durham area. 591 00:32:36,120 --> 00:32:38,320 Speaker 2: Yeah it's Wake County. 592 00:32:39,600 --> 00:32:40,920 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's leg Duryeah. 593 00:32:41,000 --> 00:32:42,080 Speaker 2: So yeah, they lost that ship. 594 00:32:42,320 --> 00:32:42,520 Speaker 4: You know. 595 00:32:43,320 --> 00:32:43,960 Speaker 2: At any rate. 596 00:32:45,640 --> 00:32:49,080 Speaker 3: HB two had a lawsuit against the FAES, which was 597 00:32:49,080 --> 00:32:54,480 Speaker 3: a duplicate lawsuit. That's rest about as much as I 987 00:54:01,640 --> 00:54:07,360 Speaker 3: take COVID cultural appropriation, I'm not a really big person 988 00:54:07,440 --> 00:54:09,960 Speaker 3: when it comes into that realm because I don't know 989 00:54:10,040 --> 00:54:14,000 Speaker 3: the rules of when people are okay with that shit 990 00:54:14,040 --> 00:54:15,120 Speaker 3: and when they're not, and it. 991 00:54:15,120 --> 00:54:17,279 Speaker 1: Varies depending on who you are, So I don't really 992 00:54:17,320 --> 00:54:19,040 Speaker 1: think it's any rules, as much as people want to 993 00:54:19,080 --> 00:54:22,040 Speaker 1: claim yes or the rules. Very poor individual person in 994 00:54:22,120 --> 00:54:22,520 Speaker 1: the group. 995 00:54:22,719 --> 00:54:25,840 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think what I think what happens is in 996 00:54:25,920 --> 00:54:28,600 Speaker 3: situations like this, when the critique is leveled at you 997 00:54:29,200 --> 00:54:31,920 Speaker 3: and your basic response is I don't give a fuck, 998 00:54:32,600 --> 00:54:34,280 Speaker 3: That's when it seems. 999 00:54:33,920 --> 00:54:34,480 Speaker 2: Odd to me. 1000 00:54:34,640 --> 00:54:37,440 Speaker 3: It's like, oh, okay, yeah, yeah, you ain't shit, you 1001 00:54:37,440 --> 00:54:39,760 Speaker 3: know what I mean? Because you could just not respond, 1002 00:54:39,920 --> 00:54:41,920 Speaker 3: or you could be like, well that's not how a minute. 1003 00:54:42,400 --> 00:54:45,440 Speaker 3: But to be like this is nonsense. That's when you 1004 00:54:45,480 --> 00:54:47,319 Speaker 3: have to have that moment of like okay. And the 1005 00:54:47,360 --> 00:54:49,960 Speaker 3: reason is nonsense is because it's a white person. You 1006 00:54:50,000 --> 00:54:53,919 Speaker 3: have absorbed everybody else's culture. Like it's just what it is. 1007 00:54:54,040 --> 00:54:54,120 Speaker 4: Like. 1008 00:54:54,280 --> 00:54:58,040 Speaker 3: You see yourself in a position where living life to 1009 00:54:58,080 --> 00:55:03,200 Speaker 3: you is absorbing other people's culture. You you know, you get 1010 00:55:03,200 --> 00:55:06,880 Speaker 3: your slang from black people, you get your clothing and 1011 00:55:07,239 --> 00:55:10,080 Speaker 3: styles of dress that you're interested in from inspirations from 1012 00:55:10,160 --> 00:55:16,280 Speaker 3: other cultures, like to you, you wouldn't consider that anything 1013 00:55:16,320 --> 00:55:19,880 Speaker 3: more than dress up when it's actually someone maybe their religion. 1014 00:55:20,000 --> 00:55:23,319 Speaker 3: It could be someone like uh, you know, it could 1015 00:55:23,360 --> 00:55:26,080 Speaker 3: be someone's uh just you know, their way of life. 1016 00:55:26,080 --> 00:55:27,640 Speaker 3: It could have something to do with the traditions and 1017 00:55:27,680 --> 00:55:30,160 Speaker 3: their homeland. It could it could be a lot, you know, 1018 00:55:30,480 --> 00:55:32,600 Speaker 3: But that's that's kind of what white people do. Is 1019 00:55:32,680 --> 00:55:34,600 Speaker 3: the reason they had a fucking long run of like 1020 00:55:34,960 --> 00:55:37,680 Speaker 3: white dudes getting tribal tattoos and shit, and you're like, yeah, 1021 00:55:37,719 --> 00:55:39,600 Speaker 3: you know what, it's called travel tattoos because it's coming 1022 00:55:39,640 --> 00:55:40,320 Speaker 3: from a tribe. 1023 00:55:40,760 --> 00:55:42,560 Speaker 2: You don't know shit about that life, you know. 1024 00:55:42,680 --> 00:55:44,520 Speaker 3: You just see it as a thing to put on 1025 00:55:44,680 --> 00:55:46,719 Speaker 3: for a second, same way you see it with these 1026 00:55:46,800 --> 00:55:49,560 Speaker 3: dreadlocks and shit. Now, all that being said, I don't 1027 00:55:49,560 --> 00:55:53,160 Speaker 3: really really get mad at that shit, cause it's like, one, 1028 00:55:53,200 --> 00:55:54,759 Speaker 3: I don't even know whe y'all woul draw the line, 1029 00:55:54,840 --> 00:55:57,000 Speaker 3: y'all get you like you would have to be mad. 1030 00:55:56,800 --> 00:55:57,319 Speaker 2: At the time. 1031 00:55:57,520 --> 00:56:01,840 Speaker 3: And also I think that shit travel down the pipe basically, 1032 00:56:01,960 --> 00:56:06,960 Speaker 3: So when Beyonce gets accused of doing it, people have 1033 00:56:07,000 --> 00:56:08,200 Speaker 3: a defense because they like her. 1034 00:56:08,320 --> 00:56:11,359 Speaker 2: When it right. 1035 00:56:11,400 --> 00:56:13,800 Speaker 3: When Kendall Jenner gets accused of doing it, then people 1036 00:56:13,800 --> 00:56:15,960 Speaker 3: don't defend it because they don't like her. When it 1037 00:56:16,040 --> 00:56:18,279 Speaker 3: just depends on if you like motherfuckers or not. And 1038 00:56:18,400 --> 00:56:21,360 Speaker 3: to me it seems like it's all kind of some bullshit. 1039 00:56:21,400 --> 00:56:25,200 Speaker 3: But what I know is not bullshit is the other 1040 00:56:25,280 --> 00:56:29,720 Speaker 3: way saying black people appropriate from white people. It's fucking 1041 00:56:29,760 --> 00:56:32,520 Speaker 3: stupid and advice, like you know what I'm saying, Like 1042 00:56:32,800 --> 00:56:37,040 Speaker 3: maybe you could you can make that argument among other groups, 1043 00:56:37,080 --> 00:56:41,120 Speaker 3: like oh, black people can appropriate from Indian people and 1044 00:56:41,320 --> 00:56:44,279 Speaker 3: Indian people can appropriate from black people and shit like that. 1045 00:56:45,040 --> 00:56:49,600 Speaker 3: I just don't know when we call that sharing in culture, 1046 00:56:49,640 --> 00:56:52,400 Speaker 3: when we call that appreciation and culture, and when we 1047 00:56:52,560 --> 00:56:54,799 Speaker 3: just call it outright theft, you. 1048 00:56:54,760 --> 00:56:58,279 Speaker 1: Know, right, because the truth be told. Yes, there is 1049 00:56:58,360 --> 00:57:03,160 Speaker 1: a lot of history behind appropriation or people's definition of it, 1050 00:57:03,760 --> 00:57:07,719 Speaker 1: but for a lot of people, they consider that, oh 1051 00:57:07,760 --> 00:57:09,600 Speaker 1: I just like that and I just want to wear 1052 00:57:09,680 --> 00:57:11,759 Speaker 1: that and truth be told. Even black people do it 1053 00:57:11,800 --> 00:57:14,319 Speaker 1: without giving consideration of a culture, but we the but 1054 00:57:14,440 --> 00:57:16,760 Speaker 1: when it's done to us, we are an uprad outrage. 1055 00:57:16,800 --> 00:57:18,960 Speaker 1: But when we do it to other people as a group, 1056 00:57:19,080 --> 00:57:20,720 Speaker 1: we don't we don't want to be pointed out for 1057 00:57:20,760 --> 00:57:23,280 Speaker 1: that flaw too, because it does happen, we do do 1058 00:57:23,320 --> 00:57:25,080 Speaker 1: it to other people, but it's not Yeah, I. 1059 00:57:25,000 --> 00:57:29,560 Speaker 3: Mean, I've heard people say black women have appropriated culture 1060 00:57:29,640 --> 00:57:33,240 Speaker 3: by stealing the slang still in quote uno, the slang of. 1061 00:57:33,200 --> 00:57:37,120 Speaker 2: Gay black men and gay black you know, like certain shit. 1062 00:57:37,240 --> 00:57:39,480 Speaker 3: I just like we're at a point now where everything's 1063 00:57:39,520 --> 00:57:43,240 Speaker 3: on paper, everything's written. There's always gonna be a blog 1064 00:57:43,400 --> 00:57:45,680 Speaker 3: somewhere that you know, there's always gonna be someone that's 1065 00:57:45,720 --> 00:57:48,800 Speaker 3: fed up, and we're I think we're at a point 1066 00:57:48,880 --> 00:57:52,120 Speaker 3: now where you can make the legitimate argument to just 1067 00:57:52,160 --> 00:57:56,280 Speaker 3: about anything being appropriation if you feel so. You know, 1068 00:57:57,640 --> 00:57:59,960 Speaker 3: so I you know, I don't know when people decay 1069 00:58:00,240 --> 00:58:03,920 Speaker 3: that they feel appreciated and when they decide they feel 1070 00:58:04,000 --> 00:58:06,280 Speaker 3: ripped off. And I don't know that everyone's on the 1071 00:58:06,320 --> 00:58:08,560 Speaker 3: same page with that. It's just a discussion that's constantly 1072 00:58:08,560 --> 00:58:12,160 Speaker 3: gonna happen because sometimes you can see a white person 1073 00:58:12,240 --> 00:58:16,200 Speaker 3: do some shit and you're just like, yeah, that guy's cool. 1074 00:58:16,240 --> 00:58:18,440 Speaker 3: It doesn't bother me that he, I don't know, used 1075 00:58:18,440 --> 00:58:20,480 Speaker 3: this slang or he said or he's a rapper or 1076 00:58:20,520 --> 00:58:22,760 Speaker 3: he did whatever. And then there's some people where you're 1077 00:58:22,800 --> 00:58:25,040 Speaker 3: just like, I don't like that, dude. So it does 1078 00:58:25,120 --> 00:58:27,680 Speaker 3: bother me on some level, and we keep trying to 1079 00:58:27,720 --> 00:58:30,200 Speaker 3: find this way to define it when it seems to 1080 00:58:30,240 --> 00:58:31,880 Speaker 3: me from everything all ready to be more of an 1081 00:58:31,920 --> 00:58:36,800 Speaker 3: emotional thing, like despite people trying to put it in 1082 00:58:36,800 --> 00:58:39,960 Speaker 3: all this technical jargon, yeah, it mostly seems to be 1083 00:58:40,320 --> 00:58:42,840 Speaker 3: I felt this way about this person doing it. I 1084 00:58:42,880 --> 00:58:45,520 Speaker 3: didn't feel that way about this other person doing it, 1085 00:58:45,600 --> 00:58:47,720 Speaker 3: and so and so on down the line. You know, 1086 00:58:49,040 --> 00:58:51,320 Speaker 3: at any rate, I just know the wrong response is 1087 00:58:51,360 --> 00:58:54,439 Speaker 3: to be like, y'all just some bullshit, y'all niggas making 1088 00:58:54,480 --> 00:58:55,640 Speaker 3: this nonsense up. 1089 00:58:55,640 --> 00:58:59,680 Speaker 1: Right, And and to me, that's when it becomes a problem. 1090 00:58:59,720 --> 00:59:04,320 Speaker 1: Because the thing is, when it comes to privilege, privilege 1091 00:59:04,320 --> 00:59:09,320 Speaker 1: affects a lot of groups, even marginalized groups, even oppressed groups. 1092 00:59:09,360 --> 00:59:12,400 Speaker 1: Depend on your background and where you're from, you still 1093 00:59:12,720 --> 00:59:15,600 Speaker 1: have some form of privilege, even though you don't want 1094 00:59:15,640 --> 00:59:17,600 Speaker 1: to admit it and you don't want to see it 1095 00:59:17,680 --> 00:59:20,200 Speaker 1: all the time. And the thing is, once you call 1096 00:59:20,320 --> 00:59:22,960 Speaker 1: out on the privilege, even the tiny bit of privilege 1097 00:59:23,000 --> 00:59:25,880 Speaker 1: that you have, most people flip a fucking food because 1098 00:59:25,880 --> 00:59:27,440 Speaker 1: they don't want to be caught out on theirs, but 1099 00:59:27,440 --> 00:59:29,760 Speaker 1: they want to constantly call out other people's and. 1100 00:59:29,760 --> 00:59:31,560 Speaker 2: They just want to wear a shit like a hat, 1101 00:59:32,240 --> 00:59:32,640 Speaker 2: that's all. 1102 00:59:32,720 --> 00:59:35,000 Speaker 3: They don't want to have any appreciation or any role 1103 00:59:35,040 --> 00:59:35,800 Speaker 3: within that culture. 1104 00:59:35,800 --> 00:59:37,840 Speaker 2: They just want to wear like a hat. 1105 00:59:37,880 --> 00:59:41,280 Speaker 3: And so it's when they come out and just flat 1106 00:59:41,280 --> 00:59:43,960 Speaker 3: out said the way he did on some like it's 1107 00:59:44,080 --> 00:59:46,520 Speaker 3: you guys just have a problem. Yeah, you're gonna make 1108 00:59:46,560 --> 00:59:51,120 Speaker 3: people mad. But that's really to me, that's about the 1109 00:59:51,160 --> 00:59:53,280 Speaker 3: extent of it. And it's really just how much of 1110 00:59:53,320 --> 00:59:56,200 Speaker 3: a problem that people have with folks coming in trying 1111 00:59:56,200 --> 00:59:58,360 Speaker 3: to wear that shit is a hat and leave, you know, 1112 00:59:59,280 --> 01:00:01,760 Speaker 3: casting all white women as your models. 1113 01:00:02,840 --> 01:00:05,320 Speaker 2: When you were gonna put on some dreads on all. 1114 01:00:05,160 --> 01:00:07,400 Speaker 3: These women, and I don't even know what the fuck 1115 01:00:07,480 --> 01:00:10,080 Speaker 3: is wrong with them, cause like models for the most part, 1116 01:00:10,240 --> 01:00:13,000 Speaker 3: have the same body type. Like this isn't like this 1117 01:00:13,040 --> 01:00:17,160 Speaker 3: isn't even an industry where it's like, oh, like white 1118 01:00:17,200 --> 01:00:19,240 Speaker 3: women in this industry look this way, but black women 1119 01:00:19,280 --> 01:00:22,440 Speaker 3: look totally different. Like, because y'all are so restrictive on 1120 01:00:22,480 --> 01:00:24,760 Speaker 3: my own body types anyway, all. 1121 01:00:24,520 --> 01:00:26,480 Speaker 1: Are six foot two, one hundred pounds. 1122 01:00:26,880 --> 01:00:29,760 Speaker 3: Yeah, because y'all are so restrictive on body types even 1123 01:00:29,800 --> 01:00:31,320 Speaker 3: if it was a black woman wearing a dress, the 1124 01:00:31,400 --> 01:00:34,480 Speaker 3: dress is gonna flow the same. So it just feels 1125 01:00:34,520 --> 01:00:40,840 Speaker 3: like a definitive exclusion because what you thought was this 1126 01:00:41,080 --> 01:00:46,840 Speaker 3: is a unique idea of putting something black on someone 1127 01:00:46,880 --> 01:00:50,280 Speaker 3: white as far as the hair, that's my guess, you know. 1128 01:00:50,480 --> 01:00:54,280 Speaker 3: And that's why people feel that it's uh, you know, offensive, 1129 01:00:54,440 --> 01:00:56,320 Speaker 3: you know, because you couldn't you could have hired black women. 1130 01:00:56,360 --> 01:00:59,000 Speaker 3: But it's like, yeah, well, black women do have dreads. Meanwhile, 1131 01:00:59,000 --> 01:01:00,440 Speaker 3: these dreads are rainbow colored. 1132 01:01:01,280 --> 01:01:05,040 Speaker 1: You and and and I think for me, the thing 1133 01:01:05,080 --> 01:01:10,480 Speaker 1: that pisces me off is that, uh, that's considered acceptable. 1134 01:01:10,560 --> 01:01:14,080 Speaker 1: But yet if somebody in the community that happened not 1135 01:01:14,120 --> 01:01:15,720 Speaker 1: to be a model, that happened to had a model 1136 01:01:15,760 --> 01:01:18,520 Speaker 1: shape and you flash up this hue because get'll write 1137 01:01:18,560 --> 01:01:19,560 Speaker 1: the fuck out of here. 1138 01:01:20,240 --> 01:01:20,560 Speaker 2: Yeah. 1139 01:01:20,800 --> 01:01:22,560 Speaker 3: So I don't know what his and I don't know 1140 01:01:22,600 --> 01:01:24,480 Speaker 3: what his connection to the black community is. I know 1141 01:01:24,520 --> 01:01:27,080 Speaker 3: I've heard Mark Jacob's name dropped in a couple of 1142 01:01:27,120 --> 01:01:29,880 Speaker 3: hip hop songs and ship. I don't know 1311 01:10:17,600 --> 01:10:19,719 Speaker 3: you know this, but the idea of a cop seeing 1312 01:10:19,800 --> 01:10:25,200 Speaker 3: you make a legal turn or something and then coming through, 1313 01:10:26,720 --> 01:10:29,000 Speaker 3: you know, ten minutes later to get you as you 1314 01:10:29,080 --> 01:10:32,439 Speaker 3: parked the auto zone, I guess both days gonna be true, 1315 01:10:32,479 --> 01:10:35,160 Speaker 3: is what I'm saying, Like, yeah, he could have drugs 1316 01:10:35,200 --> 01:10:38,680 Speaker 3: and all that other shit, and he could also have 1317 01:10:38,800 --> 01:10:41,200 Speaker 3: been targeted because he was black, and they was like 1318 01:10:41,240 --> 01:10:45,760 Speaker 3: we're giving this nigga a ticket. Anyway, For me, I 1319 01:10:45,760 --> 01:10:47,680 Speaker 3: don't feel a hundred fucked with. I don't know how 1320 01:10:47,760 --> 01:10:50,240 Speaker 3: I would say I feel about fifty. You know, I 1321 01:10:50,240 --> 01:10:52,840 Speaker 3: feel a hundred that it was like a hundred that 1322 01:10:52,920 --> 01:10:56,640 Speaker 3: they probably targeted him and shit like that, and I 1323 01:10:56,720 --> 01:11:01,080 Speaker 3: definitely felt nervous for him the entire interaction. But I mean, 1324 01:11:01,200 --> 01:11:03,160 Speaker 3: knowing that Nigga did have coke and the car was 1325 01:11:03,240 --> 01:11:03,639 Speaker 3: kind of like. 1326 01:11:04,240 --> 01:11:08,320 Speaker 2: I guess brou like. It's like, I'm like, I don't 1327 01:11:08,360 --> 01:11:10,759 Speaker 2: know what to tell you. Dog like you going to jail. 1328 01:11:11,520 --> 01:11:13,599 Speaker 2: They didn't. They didn't hurt you. They didn't. 1329 01:11:13,720 --> 01:11:18,200 Speaker 3: It don't seem like they did anything illegal, unless you're 1330 01:11:18,200 --> 01:11:20,000 Speaker 3: gonna say they planned it or something. I don't know 1331 01:11:20,040 --> 01:11:22,559 Speaker 3: what his what what the next stay up stage stage 1332 01:11:22,600 --> 01:11:25,880 Speaker 3: is for this? But I'm glad that, you know, if 1333 01:11:25,880 --> 01:11:27,920 Speaker 3: you have to get arrested, I'm glad you got arrested 1334 01:11:27,920 --> 01:11:33,760 Speaker 3: and not you know, fucked up or anything. People shouldn't joke around about such 1429 01:16:22,160 --> 01:16:24,719 Speaker 3: a serious topic like this because it feeds into racism. 1430 01:16:25,479 --> 01:16:29,479 Speaker 2: Because nigga, you're not feeding racism. I 1480 01:18:54,479 --> 01:18:58,240 Speaker 3: don't care about that problem. I'm saying not that it doesn't. 1481 01:18:58,479 --> 01:19:00,360 Speaker 3: That doesn't bother me. She gets her thanks for being 1482 01:19:00,400 --> 01:19:02,479 Speaker 3: in the university. I don't give a fuck. You said 1483 01:19:02,520 --> 01:19:04,560 Speaker 3: some racist shit in public and people might want to 1484 01:19:04,600 --> 01:19:05,519 Speaker 3: let you know of your face. 1485 01:19:06,200 --> 01:19:08,160 Speaker 2: Fuck that part right, that's. 1486 01:19:08,040 --> 01:19:11,960 Speaker 3: The school doing it for the school benefit of not 1487 01:19:12,439 --> 01:19:13,479 Speaker 3: what I'm The. 1488 01:19:13,400 --> 01:19:17,920 Speaker 2: Part that bothers me in all this shit is people 1489 01:19:18,479 --> 01:19:19,719 Speaker 2: want they love. 1490 01:19:19,600 --> 01:19:22,360 Speaker 3: To get like roued up and say this is racist, 1491 01:19:22,439 --> 01:19:25,200 Speaker 3: this is wrong, or this person should be punished. Then 1492 01:19:25,280 --> 01:19:27,439 Speaker 3: the second of punishment comes down is all of a sudden, 1493 01:19:27,439 --> 01:19:30,040 Speaker 3: everybody want to turn a fucking Gandhi. All of a 1494 01:19:30,080 --> 01:19:33,679 Speaker 3: sudden everybody when someone gets the punishment they deserve, which 1495 01:19:33,760 --> 01:19:35,559 Speaker 3: is just, hey, we don't want you to go to 1496 01:19:35,600 --> 01:19:36,400 Speaker 3: our university. 1497 01:19:36,760 --> 01:19:38,679 Speaker 2: We have black people here and we don't. 1498 01:19:38,479 --> 01:19:40,320 Speaker 1: Want racist black staff. 1499 01:19:40,720 --> 01:19:42,040 Speaker 2: Ma'm right now. 1500 01:19:42,240 --> 01:19:44,599 Speaker 3: What bothers me on this shit is, on the one hand, 1501 01:19:44,840 --> 01:19:47,439 Speaker 3: motherfuckers want to rush past the punishment phase and get 1502 01:19:47,520 --> 01:19:50,040 Speaker 3: right to well, really, what's the real lesson that's going 1503 01:19:50,120 --> 01:19:51,960 Speaker 3: to be learned here. I don't care if the lesson 1504 01:19:52,000 --> 01:19:54,240 Speaker 3: is learned to not be racist or if the lesson 1505 01:19:54,320 --> 01:19:56,720 Speaker 3: is learned to not be overtly racist where people can 1506 01:19:56,760 --> 01:19:57,040 Speaker 3: see it. 1507 01:19:57,439 --> 01:19:58,719 Speaker 2: I'll take both of those lessons. 1508 01:20:00,439 --> 01:20:04,120 Speaker 3: The other part of it that is extremely disheartening is, 1509 01:20:05,160 --> 01:20:07,960 Speaker 3: as Caring alluded to, this is why we why people 1510 01:20:08,040 --> 01:20:11,040 Speaker 3: are like I want a dorm away from white people 1511 01:20:11,040 --> 01:20:16,880 Speaker 3: because uh being I forget I'm forgetting the name of 1512 01:20:16,880 --> 01:20:19,280 Speaker 3: a professor who said this on Twitter, and I don't 1513 01:20:19,320 --> 01:20:21,160 Speaker 3: know if she listened to anyway. 1514 01:20:20,840 --> 01:20:23,679 Speaker 2: But she said this is it is a white lady. 1515 01:20:23,680 --> 01:20:27,120 Speaker 3: But she was like, and this is why diversity isn't 1516 01:20:27,120 --> 01:20:30,320 Speaker 3: the same as inclusion. And I said, this is why 1517 01:20:30,760 --> 01:20:36,000 Speaker 3: people want those separate dorms, like, because I shouldn't have to, 1518 01:20:36,160 --> 01:20:40,400 Speaker 3: as a black student, experience this because I'm in college. 1519 01:20:40,720 --> 01:20:43,040 Speaker 3: It's why I don't agree. What should Tyler's take on 1520 01:20:43,200 --> 01:20:46,439 Speaker 3: the whole toughen up? We don't need to toughen our 1521 01:20:46,520 --> 01:20:47,479 Speaker 3: kids up with racism. 1522 01:20:47,600 --> 01:20:49,240 Speaker 1: I just want to be a goddamn student. I am 1523 01:20:49,360 --> 01:20:51,320 Speaker 1: right fight for civil rights. 1524 01:20:51,000 --> 01:20:52,479 Speaker 3: The same way I don't want women to go to 1525 01:20:52,520 --> 01:20:55,000 Speaker 3: college and need to toughen up with being raped and 1526 01:20:55,040 --> 01:20:56,200 Speaker 3: sexually assaulted and shit. 1527 01:20:56,680 --> 01:20:58,320 Speaker 2: I don't want black. 1528 01:20:58,160 --> 01:20:59,960 Speaker 3: Kids to go to college and need to tough enough 1529 01:21:00,360 --> 01:21:02,800 Speaker 3: with having a deal with racism and shit like that. 1530 01:21:03,120 --> 01:21:04,839 Speaker 2: You know, I saw Howard this weekend. 1531 01:21:05,280 --> 01:21:09,439 Speaker 3: Everybody on the flag team, on the cheerleader team, and 1532 01:21:09,479 --> 01:21:11,960 Speaker 3: the football team went the one need of the national anthem. 1533 01:21:12,240 --> 01:21:16,120 Speaker 3: And that's the best argument for why I love HBCUs 1534 01:21:16,439 --> 01:21:19,000 Speaker 3: and why I loved you know, why my experience that 1535 01:21:19,160 --> 01:21:23,679 Speaker 3: can never be just duplicated anywhere else. But the point, 1536 01:21:23,800 --> 01:21:27,200 Speaker 3: the point being is that it's not a measure of 1537 01:21:27,240 --> 01:21:32,160 Speaker 3: toughness to have to deal with the abuse. You know, 1538 01:21:32,320 --> 01:21:34,240 Speaker 3: these this is the place that these kids just want 1539 01:21:34,240 --> 01:21:36,880 Speaker 3: to get an education, throwing a fucking banana at me. 1540 01:21:37,600 --> 01:21:40,639 Speaker 3: I gotta share a dorm with somebody that's talking I'm 1541 01:21:40,680 --> 01:21:44,680 Speaker 3: a nigger, ha ha. That's not a conducive environment for 1542 01:21:44,720 --> 01:21:47,439 Speaker 3: me to be educated. The mental stress and the toll 1543 01:21:47,520 --> 01:21:49,840 Speaker 3: it takes on people is why you end up with 1544 01:21:49,880 --> 01:21:52,360 Speaker 3: these higher dropout race and shit. It's not because black 1545 01:21:52,400 --> 01:21:54,560 Speaker 3: kids can't do the work. Of course they can do 1546 01:21:54,600 --> 01:21:57,720 Speaker 3: the work. That's ridiculous, you know what I mean. This 1547 01:21:57,800 --> 01:21:59,759 Speaker 3: is one of reasons like and in the world where 1548 01:22:00,800 --> 01:22:06,320 Speaker 3: we're leading, uh, specifically black women are leading and creating 1549 01:22:06,400 --> 01:22:07,480 Speaker 3: their own businesses. 1550 01:22:08,520 --> 01:22:12,559 Speaker 2: In a world like that, you don't need to tell people. 1551 01:22:12,600 --> 01:22:15,360 Speaker 3: You just gonna have to start dealing with the inevitability 1552 01:22:16,000 --> 01:22:18,280 Speaker 3: and accepting racial abuse. 1553 01:22:18,560 --> 01:22:19,479 Speaker 2: You know, we. 1554 01:22:19,479 --> 01:22:22,960 Speaker 3: Don't stop telling kids that shit, fuck that fight where 1555 01:22:22,960 --> 01:22:26,040 Speaker 3: you're at, you know, fight fight at your school, Get 1556 01:22:26,040 --> 01:22:29,840 Speaker 3: these motherfuckers kicked out, get these uh, you know, investigate 1557 01:22:29,880 --> 01:22:32,120 Speaker 3: that ship with that banana gets, get your own dorm 1558 01:22:32,160 --> 01:22:34,800 Speaker 3: if you got to the point being you deserve and 1559 01:22:34,840 --> 01:22:37,679 Speaker 3: are entitled to that space the same way everybody else 1560 01:22:37,680 --> 01:22:39,840 Speaker 3: has spent their money to be there. Is you know, 1561 01:22:39,920 --> 01:22:44,200 Speaker 3: it shouldn't be uh, you know, seen as equals and 1562 01:22:44,200 --> 01:22:47,120 Speaker 3: it shouldn't be seen as both sides have a point 1563 01:22:47,120 --> 01:22:49,800 Speaker 3: when it comes to racism, because that's what happens. People 1564 01:22:49,840 --> 01:22:54,559 Speaker 3: start arguing about safe spaces and and trigger warners. They 1565 01:22:54,560 --> 01:22:57,280 Speaker 3: get so round up over these these these these these 1566 01:22:58,560 --> 01:23:01,320 Speaker 3: very ideas, the idea that you wouldn't want a certain 1567 01:23:01,360 --> 01:23:04,280 Speaker 3: type of speaker, a certain type of comedian to come 1568 01:23:04,320 --> 01:23:05,720 Speaker 3: to your school, and shit like that. 1569 01:23:05,720 --> 01:23:07,519 Speaker 2: They get so rouled up about that shit. 1570 01:23:07,760 --> 01:23:10,640 Speaker 3: But it's not equal. In opposite, every idea does not 1571 01:23:10,680 --> 01:23:14,000 Speaker 3: carry the same value. Every idea doesn't carry the same weight, 1572 01:23:14,240 --> 01:23:16,640 Speaker 3: And just because someone has an opposite opinion doesn't make 1573 01:23:16,680 --> 01:23:20,400 Speaker 3: it a valuable fucking opinion. It's not like racism can 1574 01:23:20,439 --> 01:23:23,439 Speaker 3: be value because someone believes in it as much as 1575 01:23:23,439 --> 01:23:25,000 Speaker 3: someone else believes in inclusion. 1576 01:23:25,200 --> 01:23:26,639 Speaker 2: Get the fuck out of here, man. 1577 01:23:27,040 --> 01:23:29,680 Speaker 3: It's sad to see people take that tack, but that 1578 01:23:29,800 --> 01:23:32,280 Speaker 3: tells you about privilege and how little they have left 1579 01:23:32,320 --> 01:23:34,840 Speaker 3: to discuss when you're sitting up there trying to make 1580 01:23:34,880 --> 01:23:36,160 Speaker 3: the argument for why. 1581 01:23:36,120 --> 01:23:38,520 Speaker 2: People need to be in abusive environments. 1582 01:23:38,720 --> 01:23:41,519 Speaker 3: And honestly, like, whenever I've read about safe places and 1583 01:23:41,560 --> 01:23:44,280 Speaker 3: trigger warnings and shit like that on college campuses, it's 1584 01:23:44,320 --> 01:23:46,720 Speaker 3: not even some like it's some hippie shit. It's not 1585 01:23:46,800 --> 01:23:50,160 Speaker 3: even some like you won't get an education today. It's 1586 01:23:50,200 --> 01:23:52,639 Speaker 3: all just like, yeah, man, we're just trying to make 1587 01:23:52,680 --> 01:23:55,559 Speaker 3: it a more conducive environment for learning and you know, 1588 01:23:55,600 --> 01:23:57,960 Speaker 3: get rid of some you know, basically educate people on 1589 01:23:58,000 --> 01:24:01,720 Speaker 3: that privilege. Educate people. That's what college for education. It's 1590 01:24:01,760 --> 01:24:06,680 Speaker 3: just it's just including concepts. Concepts like racism are all 1591 01:24:06,720 --> 01:24:10,760 Speaker 3: around us and taught and given to us at nauseum. 1592 01:24:11,680 --> 01:24:13,840 Speaker 3: Like the idea that like, well you're gonna have a 1593 01:24:13,880 --> 01:24:15,320 Speaker 3: space where you're. 1594 01:24:15,479 --> 01:24:16,920 Speaker 2: Protecting people from dealing with this. 1595 01:24:17,880 --> 01:24:23,519 Speaker 3: Yeah, we are problem, you know what I mean, that's 1596 01:24:23,600 --> 01:24:27,639 Speaker 3: essentially what they're saying, like, yeah, we don't want David 1597 01:24:27,680 --> 01:24:29,000 Speaker 3: Duke speaking in our university. 1598 01:24:29,240 --> 01:24:32,960 Speaker 2: These fucking entitled, pampered college kids. They don't want to 1599 01:24:33,040 --> 01:24:35,240 Speaker 2: deal with the real world. Like, man, get the fuck 1600 01:24:35,240 --> 01:24:35,599 Speaker 2: out of here. 1601 01:24:35,600 --> 01:24:38,000 Speaker 3: I didn't pay I'm not paying twenty thousand dollars a 1602 01:24:38,040 --> 01:24:40,479 Speaker 3: semester for y'all to go out and get some fucking 1603 01:24:40,880 --> 01:24:43,280 Speaker 3: racist biggot to come in here and speak to my school. 1604 01:24:43,640 --> 01:24:45,280 Speaker 3: I don't want to be a part of that. And 1605 01:24:45,360 --> 01:24:48,920 Speaker 3: guess what, I'm a customer. I spend money here. This 1606 01:24:48,960 --> 01:24:52,799 Speaker 3: is y like college has been stopped doing people favors 1607 01:24:53,240 --> 01:24:57,040 Speaker 3: with this education. Everyone should treat their college experience like 1608 01:24:57,120 --> 01:24:59,439 Speaker 3: something you paid for, because you are and will be 1609 01:24:59,439 --> 01:25:03,040 Speaker 3: paying for for a long time and for the most part, 1610 01:25:03,720 --> 01:25:04,640 Speaker 3: so students. 1611 01:25:04,320 --> 01:25:07,840 Speaker 2: Should teach that they should treat that shit like customer service. Like, nah, man, 1612 01:25:07,880 --> 01:25:08,639 Speaker 2: I don't like this. 1613 01:25:09,400 --> 01:25:11,599 Speaker 3: It would make me feel better if if our class 1614 01:25:11,600 --> 01:25:12,840 Speaker 3: did this way and that way. 1615 01:25:13,479 --> 01:25:16,719 Speaker 2: You know. And college isn't about the real world, news flash. 1616 01:25:17,520 --> 01:25:19,360 Speaker 2: It's not. You got the rest of your life and 1617 01:25:19,400 --> 01:25:20,920 Speaker 2: the life before this to deal. 1618 01:25:20,760 --> 01:25:23,840 Speaker 3: With the quote unquote real world. College is not about that. 1619 01:25:24,479 --> 01:25:27,720 Speaker 3: College is about educating yourself. It's about thought experience, it's 1620 01:25:27,760 --> 01:25:31,200 Speaker 3: about theory. It's not about toughening up. And especially when 1621 01:25:31,240 --> 01:25:35,320 Speaker 3: you put toughening up and the idea of dealing with 1622 01:25:35,400 --> 01:25:38,559 Speaker 3: racism and bias and bigotry and and shit like that, 1623 01:25:38,560 --> 01:25:42,599 Speaker 3: that's not toughenning anybody that's like if anything that's eroding people, 1624 01:25:43,200 --> 01:25:46,120 Speaker 3: you know, make like, let people for once just have 1625 01:25:46,360 --> 01:25:51,040 Speaker 3: like a ability to have like to at least attempt 1626 01:25:51,120 --> 01:25:54,559 Speaker 3: to detoxify their space and to have some type of 1627 01:25:55,439 --> 01:25:58,320 Speaker 3: like a most leveled playing field you can get is 1628 01:25:58,360 --> 01:26:03,759 Speaker 3: one where you're saying, listen, this person is black and 1629 01:26:05,200 --> 01:26:07,080 Speaker 3: the distraction that they have to deal with the most 1630 01:26:07,120 --> 01:26:08,280 Speaker 3: is racism on campus? 1631 01:26:08,800 --> 01:26:12,920 Speaker 2: What can we do to stop that? That's all? Yeah? 1632 01:26:13,080 --> 01:26:14,040 Speaker 2: Is that a college? You know? 1633 01:26:14,400 --> 01:26:18,120 Speaker 3: It's just sad because when white people hear that, a 1634 01:26:18,120 --> 01:26:21,360 Speaker 3: lot of white people feel like, oh, you're now infringing 1635 01:26:21,400 --> 01:26:25,880 Speaker 3: on my right to be bigoted. You know, Guys, when 1636 01:26:25,880 --> 01:26:30,400 Speaker 3: guys hear about the idea of learning classes on consent 1637 01:26:30,680 --> 01:26:37,160 Speaker 3: and the idea of schools treating rape accusation seriously, they go, 1638 01:26:37,439 --> 01:26:38,679 Speaker 3: what rights am I losing? 1639 01:26:38,760 --> 01:26:38,960 Speaker 1: Now? 1640 01:26:39,080 --> 01:26:41,679 Speaker 2: They don't think to themselves, what. 1641 01:26:41,560 --> 01:26:44,479 Speaker 3: Rights are these other people gaining that they never had before? 1642 01:26:45,600 --> 01:26:47,200 Speaker 2: Everyone just thinks about themselves. 1643 01:26:47,240 --> 01:26:51,280 Speaker 3: It's just, oh, so if y'all take her accusation seriously 1644 01:26:51,640 --> 01:26:54,760 Speaker 3: and start investigating me, or y'all y'all kick me out 1645 01:26:54,800 --> 01:26:56,760 Speaker 3: of school, what about me? It's like, well, if you're 1646 01:26:56,760 --> 01:26:58,599 Speaker 3: a fucking rapist, you probably should be out of school. 1647 01:26:58,600 --> 01:27:04,240 Speaker 3: I don't know, good rape, Yeah, maybe don't rape anybody. 1648 01:27:04,360 --> 01:27:06,280 Speaker 3: Oh man, Jesus Christy say. 1649 01:27:06,960 --> 01:27:08,639 Speaker 1: In the situation where you could be accused of rape, 1650 01:27:08,680 --> 01:27:10,200 Speaker 1: the same thing you tell the victims. 1651 01:27:10,479 --> 01:27:13,120 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just such a This is so sad to 1652 01:27:13,120 --> 01:27:15,960 Speaker 3: see that shit happening. But that's what that Both those 1653 01:27:16,000 --> 01:27:19,320 Speaker 3: stories obviously one hundred for me. Both those stories made 1654 01:27:19,320 --> 01:27:21,200 Speaker 3: me think of that, and I'm glad the university kicked 1655 01:27:21,200 --> 01:27:25,400 Speaker 3: her out. So you know, when I say one hundred, 1656 01:27:25,400 --> 01:27:27,160 Speaker 3: I just mean I fucked with by the fact that 1657 01:27:27,360 --> 01:27:30,719 Speaker 3: there's so many people in society that feel like black 1658 01:27:30,800 --> 01:27:33,920 Speaker 3: kids owe it to themselves to be in these spaces 1659 01:27:33,960 --> 01:27:36,839 Speaker 3: and deal with this shit as some measure of fucking toughness. 1660 01:27:36,920 --> 01:27:39,840 Speaker 2: That's all. It's like, I actually think this university did 1661 01:27:39,840 --> 01:27:40,439 Speaker 2: the right thing. 1662 01:27:40,680 --> 01:27:43,640 Speaker 3: And if I was just scoring them by themselves in 1663 01:27:43,680 --> 01:27:45,519 Speaker 3: this story, then you know, they get a zero. 1664 01:27:45,640 --> 01:27:46,800 Speaker 2: I don't feel fucked with at all. 1665 01:27:46,880 --> 01:27:49,439 Speaker 3: I love that they can say it was like your 1666 01:27:49,439 --> 01:27:52,719 Speaker 3: ass gotta go, Becky. That that's a much better treatment 1667 01:27:52,800 --> 01:27:55,920 Speaker 3: than many many universities have in the past. 1668 01:27:56,800 --> 01:27:58,439 Speaker 1: Yeah, And also it's one of those things when it 1669 01:27:58,520 --> 01:28:01,040 Speaker 1: comes to college students, white people are allowed to be 1670 01:28:01,120 --> 01:28:04,040 Speaker 1: college students. Black children are not allowed to be college students. 1671 01:28:04,040 --> 01:28:06,960 Speaker 1: We can't be between the ages of what seventeen to 1672 01:28:07,080 --> 01:28:10,080 Speaker 1: twenty three, twenty four and just go and just enjoy 1673 01:28:10,160 --> 01:28:13,800 Speaker 1: college and enjoy experience and live and learn. You know, 1674 01:28:13,880 --> 01:28:16,760 Speaker 1: we have to be the ones constantly standing up for 1675 01:28:16,800 --> 01:28:19,600 Speaker 1: our rights and protesting and dealing with racism. We're just 1676 01:28:19,640 --> 01:28:21,880 Speaker 1: supposed to deal with it. But when you want, are 1677 01:28:21,880 --> 01:28:26,280 Speaker 1: you quote unquote allowed to have a college experience? Yeah, 1678 01:28:26,479 --> 01:28:28,559 Speaker 1: I instead of you, You know, black children just want 1679 01:28:28,600 --> 01:28:30,479 Speaker 1: to be students too. All black children don't want to 1680 01:28:30,520 --> 01:28:32,360 Speaker 1: quote unquote fight for the call. They just want to 1681 01:28:32,360 --> 01:28:33,280 Speaker 1: be a student and learn. 1682 01:28:33,920 --> 01:28:34,200 Speaker 2: Yeah. 1683 01:28:34,479 --> 01:28:38,000 Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, I don't think it should be required for 1684 01:28:38,040 --> 01:28:39,920 Speaker 3: you to have to become some type of militant ass 1685 01:28:40,160 --> 01:28:42,599 Speaker 3: kid just because you went to Harvard or whatever the fall. 1686 01:28:43,200 --> 01:28:46,160 Speaker 3: You know, it's sad, you know that it's done that way. 1687 01:28:46,200 --> 01:28:48,920 Speaker 3: But the mental toll is too much for some people. 1688 01:28:49,040 --> 01:28:52,760 Speaker 3: And also it's not truly an equal college experience when 1689 01:28:52,760 --> 01:28:55,240 Speaker 3: that's what you got to worry about. You know, college 1690 01:28:55,280 --> 01:28:57,640 Speaker 3: is a stressful enough time for folks, and then you're 1691 01:28:57,640 --> 01:29:00,120 Speaker 3: going to add in this fact that, oh yeah, and 1692 01:29:00,160 --> 01:29:02,639 Speaker 3: be racially abused for four to five years. 1693 01:29:02,680 --> 01:29:05,439 Speaker 2: Hey, you know, you know, as you do, you know, 1694 01:29:05,640 --> 01:29:06,799 Speaker 2: as it happens. 1695 01:29:07,720 --> 01:29:11,280 Speaker 3: The last thing I'll add to it is like I said, uh, 1696 01:29:11,640 --> 01:29:15,320 Speaker 3: this is why when kids go to HBCU's and people 1697 01:29:15,360 --> 01:29:21,600 Speaker 3: start spouting out as ignorant, stupid rhetoric about about anti HBCU, 1698 01:29:21,680 --> 01:29:25,000 Speaker 3: anti blackness and shit like that. This is one of 1699 01:29:25,000 --> 01:29:27,519 Speaker 3: the reasons that kids go to HBCUs ship like this, 1700 01:29:28,200 --> 01:29:30,479 Speaker 3: These stories that are so common. I could read one 1701 01:29:30,560 --> 01:29:33,880 Speaker 3: every fucking day at this show, Like, yeah, some kids 1702 01:29:33,960 --> 01:29:36,920 Speaker 3: just don't want to worry about this, you know, some 1703 01:29:37,040 --> 01:29:38,640 Speaker 3: kids just want to go to school and be like, 1704 01:29:38,800 --> 01:29:42,400 Speaker 3: here's a place where I don't have to think I'm 1705 01:29:42,400 --> 01:29:44,800 Speaker 3: gonna get a fucking banana thrown at me and go 1706 01:29:45,280 --> 01:29:47,800 Speaker 3: which one of these many, many, many white people in 1707 01:29:47,800 --> 01:29:48,800 Speaker 3: my dorm just did that. 1708 01:29:49,280 --> 01:29:51,559 Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody's gonna be quiet and nobody's gonna say a 1709 01:29:51,560 --> 01:29:54,680 Speaker 1: word because you know, they're all the same to me. 1710 01:29:54,960 --> 01:29:57,920 Speaker 3: Yeah, well, just who else is this Who is this 1711 01:29:58,040 --> 01:30:01,040 Speaker 3: indicative of? Who else agrees with this sentiment? Who else 1712 01:30:01,080 --> 01:30:04,040 Speaker 3: thinks this is funny? They were saying that across 1727 01:30:41,520 --> 01:30:44,760 Speaker 1: the country. Uh more, moth black children actually applying to 1728 01:30:44,840 --> 01:30:47,280 Speaker 1: h species like they've had a spike in the past 1729 01:30:47,400 --> 01:30:50,760 Speaker 1: like a few years that they've never had before because 1730 01:30:50,840 --> 01:30:52,800 Speaker 1: black people are like, hey, you know what, I kind 1731 01:30:52,800 --> 01:30:54,559 Speaker 1: of want to be around my people, and I should 1732 01:30:54,640 --> 01:30:57,320 Speaker 1: have that choice to do that if I want to. 1733 01:30:58,040 --> 01:31:01,160 Speaker 3: Yeah, when you just hear people say like it's just 1734 01:31:01,200 --> 01:31:05,160 Speaker 3: a joke to me after saying I finally feel like 1735 01:31:05,200 --> 01:31:06,160 Speaker 3: a nigger or something. 1736 01:31:06,600 --> 01:31:08,040 Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it's not a joke. 1737 01:31:07,920 --> 01:31:11,880 Speaker 3: To people that live that existence.
