He worked in Forsyth, which was 0:09:44.041 --> 0:09:47.281 about a sixty minute commute down a two lane country highway. 0:09:47.961 --> 0:09:51.521 This area is rural. Ava had a population of around 0:09:51.521 --> 0:09:54.721 twenty nine hundred people in two thousand and seven, and 0:09:54.961 --> 0:09:59.521 it's the only incorporated town in that county. Along that highway, 0:09:59.641 --> 0:10:04.121 there are several even less populated communities. But there was 0:10:04.161 --> 0:10:06.841 no evidence, at least from what police could figure out 0:10:06.881 --> 0:10:10.641 early on, that Christopher knew Renee or had ever even 0:10:10.681 --> 0:10:15.161 talked to her. Eventually, her killer, 0:10:56.881 --> 0:11:00.321 Philip Dodd, was caught and claimed that he strangled Becky 0:11:00.401 --> 0:11:04.881 after she refused his sexual advances. In twenty sixteen, the 0:11:04.921 --> 0:11:09.001 area made news again. John McLachlan murdered and dismembered his 0:11:09.081 --> 0:11:12.201 wife Linda McLaughlin and dumped her body in the forest. 0:11:12.881 --> 0:11:15.401 Police have found other bodies there that did not make 0:11:15.481 --> 0:11:19.441 national news, and many others have gone missing in that 0:11:19.521 --> 0:11:24.641 neck of the woods. As police investigated Renee's murder and 0:11:24.721 --> 0:11:28.121 focused more on Christopher Reeback, a lot more came out 0:11:28.241 --> 0:11:32.200 about his history, though there's not a ton of information about. 0:11:31.921 --> 0:11:35.481 His early life out there. Eventually, Jennifer and Christopher 0:11:57.921 --> 0:12:01.401 divorced and he met another woman named Joanna, who was 0:12:01.441 --> 0:12:05.801 also from Wisconsin Rapids. Joanna and Christopher got married in 0:12:05.801 --> 0:12:09.121 December of two thousand and six. According to media reports, 0:12:09.481 --> 0:12:14.241 She also worked as an EMT. The ambulance director, Jeff Hawkins, 0:12:14.280 --> 0:12:17.961 who worked with Christopher, told reporters he was shocked by 0:12:18.001 --> 0:12:21.561 the investigation into Christopher. He said Christopher was a good 0:12:21.561 --> 0:12:24.521 worker and that he had no idea that his employee 0:12:24.721 --> 0:12:29.001 could be hiding any kind of dark secrets. He was from one Washington Rapids, 0:12:45.121 --> 0:12:49.721 the same area where Deirdre harm was murdered, and when 0:12:49.721 --> 0:12:52.561 police got the DNA test back from the blood found 0:12:52.601 --> 0:12:55.921 at Renee Williams crime scene, they found that it was 0:12:56.001 --> 0:12:59.801 a match to Christopher Reevack, So they started reinterviewing some 0:12:59.841 --> 0:13:02.121 people they had talked to in the initial stages of 0:13:02.161 --> 0:13:03.761 the investigation into. 0:13:03.561 --> 0:13:04.721 Renee Williams murder. 0:13:05.881 --> 0:13:09.361 They had already searched Christopher Reevack's house in two thousand 0:13:09.361 --> 0:13:12.961 and seven and reportedly found blood that was a match 0:13:13.001 --> 0:13:16.281 to Renee Williams on Christopher's vehicle, as well as on 0:13:16.321 --> 0:13:20.241 a pair of pants taken from Christopher's home. At the time, 0:13:20.561 --> 0:13:24.361 Douglas County deputies felt like they needed more evidence, so 0:13:24.401 --> 0:13:27.961 they talked to Christopher's wife, Joanna, and she had some 0:13:28.041 --> 0:13:32.161 shocking information to give them. When they confronted her with 0:13:32.241 --> 0:13:36.241 the DNA evidence, Joanna told them quote, I did not 0:13:36.441 --> 0:13:40.921 kill or help kill Renee Williams end quote. However, it's important to 0:16:15.881 --> 0:16:19.161 note here Joanna has never been arrested or charged in 0:16:19.161 --> 0:16:22.961 connection with Renee William's death or in connection with any 0:16:23.041 --> 0:16:27.561 of Christopher Reevac's crimes.
