There were just there's things 0:12:19.280 --> 0:12:23.640 protections put in place in the sixties, and this show 0:12:23.840 --> 0:12:31.360 began in the spirit of the echo of the civil 0:12:31.440 --> 0:12:34.760 rights movement in the sixties So for those that don't know, 0:12:35.040 --> 0:12:39.240 in twenty twenty, you know, Q and I were out 0:12:39.280 --> 0:12:42.640 protesting in the Freedom Summer. You know, it's been called 0:12:42.640 --> 0:12:45.280 a number of things. But you know, we weren't just 0:12:45.960 --> 0:12:48.000 all right, let's go talk on his radio and then 0:12:48.040 --> 0:12:51.680 go back home. You know, we recognized that we had 0:12:54.120 --> 0:12:58.840 a responsibility as human beings to stand with the people. 0:12:59.160 --> 0:13:03.439 You know, we weren't just peddling, you know, our personalities 0:13:03.480 --> 0:13:06.520 to the people and being exalted above them. We knew 0:13:06.520 --> 0:13:09.440 that we also were these people. We didn't own them 0:13:09.520 --> 0:13:11.520 radio stations at all, you know what I mean. You know, 0:13:14.600 --> 0:13:16.480 there were other people who weren't black men that got 0:13:16.480 --> 0:13:19.240 out there and protested, and they left high positions as well. 0:13:19.280 --> 0:13:21.240 But you know, for Q and I, we just felt 0:13:21.280 --> 0:13:25.360 like this was this was really important. And I know 0:13:25.400 --> 0:13:27.400 that Q got out. You got out when you could 0:13:27.400 --> 0:13:31.880 because you had, you know, a little one in the house. Yeah, 0:13:31.920 --> 0:13:34.520 but I had my little boys were a little older, 0:13:34.520 --> 0:13:36.199 so I could take them to the protests with me. 0:13:36.720 --> 0:13:38.600 And what ended up happening was we ended up meeting 0:13:38.640 --> 0:13:44.160 some folks who were they they just kind of knew 0:13:44.200 --> 0:13:47.880 who we were. Channel twelve is saying, we're 0:14:02.960 --> 0:14:05.600 out here rioting. You know, Channel fifteen is saying that 0:14:05.640 --> 0:14:08.280 we're out setting fires and that's not happening. The police 0:14:08.280 --> 0:14:10.960 are doing X, Y and Z to us. And then 0:14:11.000 --> 0:14:14.000 they're saying that we started that. And you know, and 0:14:14.040 --> 0:14:16.760 again these are people.
