I don't know what role 32 00:01:56,760 --> 00:01:59,200 Speaker 5: I'm in. I don't know none of this, and I'm 33 00:01:59,240 --> 00:02:01,440 Speaker 5: like chasing. So I'm just like right now 36 00:02:08,160 --> 00:02:10,639 Speaker 5: just focusing and taking it one day at a time 37 00:02:10,680 --> 00:02:12,320 Speaker 5: with like whatever come my way. 38 00:02:12,800 --> 00:02:14,799 Speaker 4: I'm not gonna be like that, you know how. 39 00:02:14,960 --> 00:02:16,880 Speaker 5: You know how it is as NBA players, though, we 40 00:02:16,880 --> 00:02:19,480 Speaker 5: get all type of opportunities, and I just be like, yeah, 41 00:02:19,480 --> 00:02:22,280 Speaker 5: I ain't doing that. I don't have a dancing background. I 59 00:03:00,200 --> 00:03:03,240 Speaker 5: think that's how we won. I think it was quite 60 00:03:03,280 --> 00:03:05,160 Speaker 5: obvious when I came on the show, like I have 61 00:03:05,240 --> 00:03:06,240 Speaker 5: no clue what I'm doing. 62 00:03:06,440 --> 00:03:07,760 Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. You get the point of 63 00:03:07,840 --> 00:03:10,160 Speaker 4: some wife, she's the one with that, you know. 64 00:03:10,240 --> 00:03:13,640 Speaker 5: But what's crazy when people don't understand my wife, Like 65 00:03:13,720 --> 00:03:16,920 Speaker 5: my wife, I don't know where she does. 66 00:03:16,800 --> 00:03:19,200 Speaker 4: The practice part. You don't never see it, you know 67 00:03:19,320 --> 00:03:19,840 Speaker 4: what I'm saying. 68 00:03:20,000 --> 00:03:23,200 Speaker 5: Like she'll say like, oh, I gotta do this, so 69 00:03:23,240 --> 00:03:26,080 Speaker 5: I got to perform and do this, and I'll be like, well, 70 00:03:26,520 --> 00:03:29,040 Speaker 5: let's go like rent the studio so you could like 71 00:03:29,760 --> 00:03:31,000 Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, And. 72 00:03:30,919 --> 00:03:32,639 Speaker 4: She could just do stuff on the spot. 73 00:03:32,720 --> 00:03:35,040 Speaker 5: So even with like dancing, like she could pick up 74 00:03:35,080 --> 00:03:37,720 Speaker 5: the tango and tell me on the phone, like you're 75 00:03:37,720 --> 00:03:39,520 Speaker 5: supposed to be sharp, you're supposed to be like this 76 00:03:39,680 --> 00:03:41,960 Speaker 5: doing that, but it's like my body won't conform to 77 00:03:42,040 --> 00:03:43,000 Speaker 5: that without. 78 00:03:42,800 --> 00:03:44,120 Speaker 4: Two three weeks of practice. 79 00:03:44,640 --> 00:03:46,520 Speaker 5: So it was like no point in calling her because 80 00:03:46,560 --> 00:03:49,600 Speaker 5: she made it like it's damn easy for her. So 81 00:03:49,680 --> 00:03:52,680 Speaker 5: I like focus on talking to her when it's time 82 00:03:52,720 --> 00:03:55,880 Speaker 5: to perform, like she understands performance and saying like I'm like, yo, 83 00:03:55,920 --> 00:03:58,800 Speaker 5: bab I ain't i ain't really too confident on how 84 00:03:58,880 --> 00:04:00,520 Speaker 5: this look or how this. She like like, well that 85 00:04:00,640 --> 00:04:03,360 Speaker 5: you need to lean on your personality or you need 86 00:04:03,400 --> 00:04:05,760 Speaker 5: to you know what I'm saying, don't look down on 87 00:04:05,880 --> 00:04:08,480 Speaker 5: these moments when the camera swing and do this and 88 00:04:08,520 --> 00:04:11,520 Speaker 5: you notice an eight count, always try and find the camera. 89 00:04:11,600 --> 00:04:13,520 Speaker 4: Stop looking down at the floor. And you know what 90 00:04:13,560 --> 00:04:14,360 Speaker 4: I'm saying, makes for. 91 00:04:14,400 --> 00:04:15,120 Speaker 6: Any of them. 92 00:04:15,480 --> 00:04:17,880 Speaker 5: Yeah, So it's like I had a good performance at 93 00:04:17,920 --> 00:04:22,039 Speaker 5: times I might not have been yeah, technically because it's 94 00:04:22,080 --> 00:04:24,599 Speaker 5: by them. It's like if you if you touch your 95 00:04:24,880 --> 00:04:27,120 Speaker 5: your heel on the floor, it's like that's a deduction 96 00:04:28,040 --> 00:04:31,159 Speaker 5: on points. So it's like sometimes I did do it wrong, 97 00:04:31,200 --> 00:04:33,599 Speaker 5: but it's like I had fun. I smiled a lot, 98 00:04:33,880 --> 00:04:35,880 Speaker 5: I gave a performance. They say it's thirty 114 00:05:07,040 --> 00:05:09,920 Speaker 2: five hundred person of the ar a little bit higher 115 00:05:09,920 --> 00:05:11,919 Speaker 2: than what we got. 116 00:05:11,279 --> 00:05:17,080 Speaker 4: What where's this fun fact? From what we like? 117 00:05:17,120 --> 00:05:26,000 Speaker 2: Twelve was like a sixty Yeah, and the twenty one 118 00:05:28,800 --> 00:05:30,880 Speaker 2: you interviewed and spoke that you said you were able 119 00:05:30,880 --> 00:05:35,240 Speaker 2: to save half of your NBA contract money. Where did 120 00:05:35,240 --> 00:05:38,920 Speaker 2: that financial literacy? And I guess the business of basketball 121 00:05:38,920 --> 00:05:40,360 Speaker 2: come from early on with. 122 00:05:40,279 --> 00:05:45,240 Speaker 5: You, I put together a great financial team. Early on, 123 00:05:45,640 --> 00:05:51,440 Speaker 5: I had I had a financial advisor, I had my accountant, 124 00:05:52,520 --> 00:05:56,040 Speaker 5: and like my brother's asshole, Like it was just like 125 00:05:56,320 --> 00:05:58,120 Speaker 5: you say, That's why I brought him on the podcast. 126 00:05:58,160 --> 00:05:59,320 Speaker 4: He just called bullshit. 127 00:06:01,480 --> 00:06:08,839 Speaker 5: And when we went into it, I remember my brother saying, like, yo, 128 00:06:08,920 --> 00:06:10,520 Speaker 5: you you got drafted. 129 00:06:12,040 --> 00:06:13,919 Speaker 4: You had no money, you know what I'm saying. 130 00:06:14,680 --> 00:06:18,360 Speaker 5: You hosted little events or whatever, and you made money 131 00:06:18,520 --> 00:06:21,000 Speaker 5: to like be cool and still like be able to 132 00:06:21,040 --> 00:06:25,719 Speaker 5: like function, So he like, you really could function broke 133 00:06:25,800 --> 00:06:27,760 Speaker 5: bro like you've been, you know what I'm saying. So 134 00:06:27,800 --> 00:06:31,120 Speaker 5: it's like that point he kind of never let me see. 135 00:06:31,200 --> 00:06:33,120 Speaker 5: Like if I ever was getting one hundred and fifty 136 00:06:33,160 --> 00:06:36,400 Speaker 5: thousand dollars whatever check it was on my rookie scale, 137 00:06:36,440 --> 00:06:38,560 Speaker 5: I don't know what it was per two weeks. I 138 00:06:38,560 --> 00:06:40,880 Speaker 5: had mine on the twelve month, so it was like, 139 00:06:42,279 --> 00:06:44,240 Speaker 5: I don't know how much every two weeks, but I 140 00:06:44,320 --> 00:06:46,880 Speaker 5: was only seeing half of it. I think in my 141 00:06:47,000 --> 00:06:49,640 Speaker 5: mind that's all I had, like cause you know, we 142 00:06:49,680 --> 00:06:53,000 Speaker 5: had the lockout year by the time we started. It 143 00:06:53,040 --> 00:06:55,039 Speaker 5: was like so many games. I'm like, bro, I can't 144 00:06:55,080 --> 00:07:00,159 Speaker 5: spend Yeah, I can't spend no money. I'm tired in. 145 00:07:00,200 --> 00:07:01,480 Speaker 4: Four games and five nice. 146 00:07:01,560 --> 00:07:05,480 Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't remember that no what I thought. We 147 00:07:05,520 --> 00:07:10,040 Speaker 5: went out there, I had to guard I guarded Rondo, 148 00:07:10,640 --> 00:07:13,440 Speaker 5: then d Rose and I had Darren Williams. I'm like, bro, 149 00:07:13,880 --> 00:07:16,560 Speaker 5: back to back to back. I'm like, bro, I can't 150 00:07:16,560 --> 00:07:18,920 Speaker 5: even remember my hotel room, no book. You see what 151 00:07:18,920 --> 00:07:20,840 Speaker 5: I'm saying. I'm like, I can't spend no money. So 152 00:07:20,880 --> 00:07:23,560 Speaker 5: it was like my whole career. I just kept it 153 00:07:23,600 --> 00:07:25,120 Speaker 5: like that. I'm like, bro, I don't even want to 154 00:07:25,120 --> 00:07:27,720 Speaker 5: see half of it and bout it. He like I'm doing three to 660 00:31:51,040 --> 00:31:52,800 Speaker 5: the head this year, Like Nigga was just making shit 661 00:31:52,920 --> 00:31:54,800 Speaker 5: up on the fly. We like, don this ain't even 662 00:31:54,920 --> 00:31:57,080 Speaker 5: like a real thing. Like this Mellow got that. 663 00:31:57,360 --> 00:31:59,600 Speaker 4: She she oh, yeah, she came. 664 00:31:59,680 --> 00:32:01,840 Speaker 5: So they go in and go and get out because 665 00:32:01,840 --> 00:32:05,680 Speaker 5: people think Mellow started Mellow, thank you Mello did that 666 00:32:05,840 --> 00:32:09,760 Speaker 5: and honor she because she and remember he had like 667 00:32:10,040 --> 00:32:14,000 Speaker 5: a knee and a back problem, so New York was 668 00:32:14,080 --> 00:32:16,560 Speaker 5: like thirsty every time she would get in, so she 669 00:32:16,920 --> 00:32:18,480 Speaker 5: was like, every time I hit the three, I'm gonna 670 00:32:18,480 --> 00:32:20,600 Speaker 5: do three to the head. But when he had the 671 00:32:20,680 --> 00:32:23,760 Speaker 5: back problem and he couldn't play, she basically became like 672 00:32:23,840 --> 00:32:26,400 Speaker 5: a coach for us, like he was just that guy 673 00:32:26,480 --> 00:32:28,920 Speaker 5: in our ear giving us everything. He was talking loud 674 00:32:28,960 --> 00:32:31,600 Speaker 5: as hell to the reps whatever. He would always be 675 00:32:31,680 --> 00:32:33,680 Speaker 5: in a warm up. But he knew he wasn't healthy 676 00:32:33,760 --> 00:32:36,240 Speaker 5: enough to play. So Mellow kind of like took it 677 00:32:36,360 --> 00:32:39,120 Speaker 5: for him, like yeah, like we own that. And then 678 00:32:39,240 --> 00:32:41,560 Speaker 5: Ello started doing it like she was doing it, and 679 00:32:41,680 --> 00:32:43,800 Speaker 5: the kids all knew to do it no matter who. 680 00:32:43,720 --> 00:32:46,280 Speaker 4: Hit a three. But then Ello came down. You know 681 00:32:46,680 --> 00:32:51,400 Speaker 4: it's Mellow. He came down Potwood in the corner. 682 00:32:53,600 --> 00:33:01,760 Speaker 5: Everybody was like oh, they like, I'm like, bro, it's Llo, dog, 683 00:33:01,840 --> 00:33:03,200 Speaker 5: what you finla do shortie? 684 00:33:03,280 --> 00:33:05,880 Speaker 4: Like the man with the head Ben did it? 685 00:33:06,000 --> 00:33:06,200 Speaker 9: Dog? 686 00:33:06,280 --> 00:33:10,640 Speaker 5: It's gone with the halo, Bro, Halo man did it? Yeah, Like we was just like it's lit, bro. 1135 00:53:55,360 --> 00:53:56,840 Speaker 4: We were just in New York. We was on a 1136 00:53:56,920 --> 00:53:58,520 Speaker 4: losing streak. I'm hurt. 1137 00:53:59,239 --> 00:54:01,120 Speaker 5: We was in the press, you know what I'm saying, 1138 00:54:01,200 --> 00:54:02,680 Speaker 5: Like we was going through a rough time and then 1139 00:54:02,719 --> 00:54:05,279 Speaker 5: we got traded. Not able to fix that situation. Like 1140 00:54:05,360 --> 00:54:06,960 Speaker 5: we came over there to the cast. We was like 1141 00:54:07,040 --> 00:54:10,120 Speaker 5: this new energy, like it was a bounce happening, like 1142 00:54:11,000 --> 00:54:15,160 Speaker 5: and we got Mazi. We went and got Mazi and 1143 00:54:15,239 --> 00:54:18,920 Speaker 5: he came over. I'm like, dog, it's like we our 1144 00:54:19,040 --> 00:54:23,080 Speaker 5: defense went up. Like it's like, Bro, you real 1161 00:55:07,080 --> 00:55:11,960 Speaker 5: life use every weapon on your roster, like whether people 1162 00:55:12,200 --> 00:55:13,880 Speaker 5: know that's why you got him or not, Like he 1163 00:55:14,000 --> 00:55:16,440 Speaker 5: gonna use it. He gonna make sure that he do that. 1164 00:55:16,600 --> 00:55:18,600 Speaker 5: And being a part of that team and seeing like 1165 00:55:19,239 --> 00:55:21,920 Speaker 5: a Kevin Love have an issue, first of all, being 1166 00:55:21,960 --> 00:55:25,000 Speaker 5: on other teams, you would never think Kevin Love would 1167 00:55:25,040 --> 00:55:28,359 Speaker 5: ever have an issue with like you know what I'm saying, 1168 00:55:28,520 --> 00:55:30,560 Speaker 5: just a rough stint where it's like I'm like, bro, 1169 00:55:30,600 --> 00:55:32,480 Speaker 5: I'm so used to seeing you do forty and twenty. 1170 00:55:32,880 --> 00:55:35,759 Speaker 5: I didn't even know you had like modes where it's like, yeah, 1171 00:55:35,920 --> 00:55:38,640 Speaker 5: you all for you just feeling like not as confident 1172 00:55:38,760 --> 00:55:41,560 Speaker 5: because you don't create your own shot all the time 1173 00:55:41,680 --> 00:55:44,000 Speaker 5: like these guys do. Like now you're playing with people 1174 00:55:44,040 --> 00:55:46,400 Speaker 5: that are commanding the ball all the time, and you 1175 00:55:46,520 --> 00:55:48,960 Speaker 5: have to be efficient with just whatever touches. And 1206 00:57:09,800 --> 00:57:12,279 Speaker 5: by the time playoffs hit, like t Lou was having 1207 00:57:12,280 --> 00:57:15,879 Speaker 5: to chill on practice with us, like hey, y'all, yeah, 1208 00:57:16,120 --> 00:57:18,720 Speaker 5: y'all too, like y'all be too hype for that five 1209 00:57:18,800 --> 00:57:20,760 Speaker 5: minute scrimmage, Like y'all doing too much. 1210 00:57:20,840 --> 00:57:24,680 Speaker 4: But it was like that ship made us so like together. 1211 00:57:24,920 --> 00:57:27,640 Speaker 5: Then that three one shit happened and everybody was just 1212 00:57:27,800 --> 00:57:32,400 Speaker 5: talking like y'all are finna go home, y'all. But we 1213 00:57:32,480 --> 00:57:35,120 Speaker 5: sat on that on that on that bus going back, 1214 00:57:35,200 --> 00:57:37,600 Speaker 5: and Broun was like, no, we're gonna win Game five. 1215 00:57:38,800 --> 00:57:40,840 Speaker 5: They gonna say woo woo, they're gonna do that. We're 1216 00:57:40,840 --> 00:57:42,920 Speaker 5: gonna come back here, We're gonna get game six, right, 1217 00:57:44,280 --> 00:57:47,120 Speaker 5: and then they finish get scared because we no longer 1218 00:57:47,400 --> 00:57:49,360 Speaker 5: like he like, we actually in the best position. Somebody that just 1236 00:58:38,640 --> 00:58:40,760 Speaker 5: talks brings that type of energy, and then you play 1237 00:58:40,840 --> 00:58:42,640 Speaker 5: without them, it just adjusts. 1238 00:58:42,840 --> 00:58:43,439 Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. 1239 00:58:43,520 --> 00:58:45,360 Speaker 5: What you got going on it Justice jumped in front 1240 00:58:45,360 --> 00:58:47,320 Speaker 5: of a lot of stuff, all the real talk, and 1241 00:58:47,560 --> 00:58:49,240 Speaker 5: we didn't notice that. I 1447 01:08:16,439 --> 01:08:18,760 Speaker 5: was like, Nigga, that's the scariest shit I've ever seen 1448 01:08:18,800 --> 01:08:21,840 Speaker 5: in my life, those three right there going on a breakaway, 1449 01:08:22,160 --> 01:08:24,840 Speaker 5: banging that bitch after like passing it back and forth 1450 01:08:25,040 --> 01:08:27,679 Speaker 5: and then sprinting back to where you can't throw an outlet. 1451 01:08:28,040 --> 01:08:31,519 Speaker 5: I was like, well what I was, I'll be remembering 1452 01:08:31,560 --> 01:08:35,679 Speaker 5: shit like that because it's like, Bro, like you feel 1453 01:08:35,800 --> 01:08:38,240 Speaker 5: me like Bron being able to do that and say, 1454 01:08:38,280 --> 01:08:40,280 Speaker 5: you know what, I'm not gonna shoot a three now, 1455 01:08:40,720 --> 01:08:43,799 Speaker 5: Like that's what's crazy about Broun. Every version is scary 1456 01:08:43,880 --> 01:08:45,719 Speaker 5: now that I think about it, because it's like even 1457 01:08:45,840 --> 01:08:49,519 Speaker 5: now he can say I'm done dunking on y'all, but 1458 01:08:49,640 --> 01:08:51,200 Speaker 5: you still finna have to deal with my back to 1459 01:08:51,280 --> 01:08:53,360 Speaker 5: the basket and you got deal it. 1460 01:08:53,479 --> 01:08:55,280 Speaker 4: I can still pass it really really good. 1461 01:08:55,760 --> 01:08:57,639 Speaker 3: If I don't feel like, if I catch a rhythm, 1462 01:08:57,640 --> 01:08:58,960 Speaker 3: I'm here five or six threes on. 1463 01:08:59,000 --> 01:09:01,479 Speaker 5: You, we'll talk real talk, you know what I'm saying. 1464 01:09:01,520 --> 01:09:03,160 Speaker 5: And I figured out this free throw thing for the 1465 01:09:03,240 --> 01:09:06,960 Speaker 5: most part. For the most part, my nigga, my nigga 1466 01:09:07,040 --> 01:09:08,880 Speaker 5: still once the while and he do ship. 1467 01:09:09,000 --> 01:09:13,840 Speaker 4: I'll just be eyeballs out. He funny though, bro, Yeah, 1468 01:09:15,479 --> 01:09:17,320 Speaker 4: how did it happens? She Lou is another one that 1479 01:09:56,160 --> 01:09:57,960 Speaker 5: I don't even think he would realize that he would 1480 01:09:58,000 --> 01:09:59,360 Speaker 5: do it every once in a while. Then you just 1481 01:09:59,439 --> 01:10:02,360 Speaker 5: throw him the ball all and he don't he can't 1482 01:10:02,439 --> 01:10:05,240 Speaker 5: help it, but to like try and show you, you 1483 01:10:05,320 --> 01:10:07,080 Speaker 5: know what I'm saying, and he like turns into a 1484 01:10:07,120 --> 01:10:11,120 Speaker 5: player for a second. And in those moments, like especially 1485 01:10:11,200 --> 01:10:13,080 Speaker 5: with me just being a fan of ball, it's like, gee, 1486 01:10:13,120 --> 01:10:14,600 Speaker 5: I'm learning from T. T. 1487 01:10:14,840 --> 01:10:17,120 Speaker 4: Lou, Like this is Tyrone Lou like. 1488 01:10:17,200 --> 01:10:19,400 Speaker 5: The same you know what I'm saying, Like I get 1489 01:10:19,439 --> 01:10:21,800 Speaker 5: it here, my coach, because this is totally Tyrone Lulai. 1490 01:10:22,600 --> 01:10:25,240 Speaker 5: I totally used to watch this guy play basketball, so 1491 01:10:25,560 --> 01:10:27,519 Speaker 5: I'm already a fan. So it's like it's easier to 1492 01:10:27,640 --> 01:10:29,760 Speaker 5: learn from that than seeing him within a suit, you 1493 01:10:29,800 --> 01:10:33,960 Speaker 5: know what I'm saying, and then like seeing his his 1494 01:10:34,320 --> 01:10:37,040 Speaker 5: his ability to say I'm gonna make an adjustment or 1495 01:10:37,040 --> 01:10:38,919 Speaker 5: I'm not going to make an adjustment, but I recognize 1496 01:10:38,960 --> 01:10:41,200 Speaker 5: adjustment needs to be made, you know what I'm saying. 1497 01:10:41,800 --> 01:10:43,400 Speaker 3: Great in game adjustment coach. 1498 01:10:43,600 --> 01:10:46,080 Speaker 5: Yes, Yes, Like he will look at the other side 1499 01:10:46,120 --> 01:10:49,439 Speaker 5: and be like, hmm, I see what y'all doing. Hey, 1500 01:10:49,520 --> 01:10:53,040 Speaker 5: y'all time out? Trust me on this stack jack point 1501 01:10:53,160 --> 01:10:55,840 Speaker 5: point And everybody had that moment like he playing point. 1502 01:10:56,280 --> 01:10:59,040 Speaker 5: But it's like, whatever you see, let's just try it 1503 01:10:59,120 --> 01:11:01,320 Speaker 5: because dog just to time out and he ain't going 1504 01:11:01,520 --> 01:11:03,599 Speaker 5: just unless he sees something like that. And I think 1505 01:11:03,680 --> 01:11:07,040 Speaker 5: he built a great relationship with everybody on the team 1506 01:11:07,160 --> 01:11:10,760 Speaker 5: to trust him in those in those moments, and then 1507 01:11:11,760 --> 01:11:15,960 Speaker 5: he earned more trust from us by like in certain 1508 01:11:16,040 --> 01:11:18,840 Speaker 5: moments even like like he would be like on some 1509 01:11:18,920 --> 01:11:21,479 Speaker 5: ship where he'd be like, yeah, I ain't got nothing 1510 01:11:21,520 --> 01:11:23,120 Speaker 5: for y'all. I called that because y'all need to y'all 1511 01:11:23,160 --> 01:11:25,240 Speaker 5: need to catch y'all breath and get y'all bearings together. 1512 01:11:25,320 --> 01:11:27,639 Speaker 4: But I don't have a play for y'all. Figure it out. 1513 01:11:28,120 --> 01:11:31,800 Speaker 4: Go play ball. Can y'all remember that we're playing ball now? 1514 01:11:32,000 --> 01:11:32,519 Speaker 4: All right? Cool? 1515 01:11:32,760 --> 01:11:35,400 Speaker 5: Go play ball? And it's like that's all we needed. 1516 01:11:35,840 --> 01:11:37,599 Speaker 5: It's like, now we don't have a play to think about. 1517 01:11:37,640 --> 01:11:41,360 Speaker 5: We're not trying to just hoop play the motion for 1518 01:11:41,560 --> 01:11:44,040 Speaker 5: out one end and just who we know how to play. 1519 01:11:44,120 --> 01:11:46,960 Speaker 5: We know actions, keep keep people in actions, keep changing 1520 01:11:46,960 --> 01:11:48,880 Speaker 5: the sides of the floor, and we would get in 1521 01:11:48,960 --> 01:11:51,160 Speaker 5: the groove. So it was like, I think Tyleru is 1522 01:11:51,280 --> 01:11:53,400 Speaker 5: like one of the you know what I'm saying, one 1523 01:11:53,439 --> 01:11:56,200 Speaker 5: of those coaches that you get around and you you 1524 01:11:56,320 --> 01:12:01,080 Speaker 5: appreciate even more afterwards because it's like, damn broverb like that. 1525 01:12:01,400 --> 01:12:03,479 Speaker 4: Yeah, I realized that, and I dealt with like. 1526 01:12:03,560 --> 01:12:06,040 Speaker 5: Five different styles. So it was like like the fish 1527 01:12:06,479 --> 01:12:08,960 Speaker 5: fish is a different ball. He don't want you overly 1528 01:12:09,160 --> 01:12:10,960 Speaker 5: like feeling like that, Like he likes a structure. 1529 01:12:11,120 --> 01:12:12,880 Speaker 3: He was in that triangle formation. 1530 01:12:12,960 --> 01:12:14,720 Speaker 5: I'm saying, and then he had to stick to that 1531 01:12:14,760 --> 01:12:16,680 Speaker 5: principal because that's what he was introducing. But it was 1532 01:12:16,760 --> 01:12:18,920 Speaker 5: like that was a structure, and though I figured it out, 1533 01:12:18,960 --> 01:12:20,800 Speaker 5: I'm like, bro, everybody had a different Bob. 1534 01:12:20,840 --> 01:12:22,080 Speaker 4: That's why I was like, man, I wish I would 1535 01:12:22,080 --> 01:12:23,040 Speaker 4: have just had one coach. 1536 01:12:24,240 --> 01:12:26,560 Speaker 2: People don't realize of what you don't realize. Because the 1537 01:12:26,560 --> 01:12:28,800 Speaker 2: Mark was talking to the Marcus Marcus had like seven 1538 01:12:28,880 --> 01:12:29,720 Speaker 2: coaches in eight years. 1539 01:12:29,800 --> 01:12:31,200 Speaker 3: It's great, you know what I mean, just when I 1540 01:12:31,240 --> 01:12:33,479 Speaker 3: figured this shit out, this motherfucker so. 1541 01:12:35,080 --> 01:12:37,200 Speaker 5: And the next motherfucker don't they don't. They don't see 1542 01:12:37,240 --> 01:12:39,720 Speaker 5: you as the other thing. They be like, no, I 1543 01:12:39,920 --> 01:12:41,360 Speaker 5: like you like this. 1544 01:12:43,560 --> 01:12:45,920 Speaker 2: Touch a little more on Kyrie and just him as 1545 01:12:45,960 --> 01:12:47,519 Speaker 2: a player, him as a person, and they heard you 1546 01:12:47,520 --> 01:12:49,519 Speaker 2: guys used to have some epic one on one games. 1547 01:12:49,720 --> 01:12:54,280 Speaker 2: Oh man, you just signed a new five year shoot 1548 01:12:54,280 --> 01:12:54,680 Speaker 2: deal too. 1549 01:12:55,000 --> 01:12:58,000 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, god one. 1550 01:12:58,200 --> 01:12:59,960 Speaker 5: One of my one of my better friends of the lead, 1551 01:13:01,600 --> 01:13:04,320 Speaker 5: Me and Kyle sat down next to each other during 1552 01:13:04,400 --> 01:13:08,800 Speaker 5: the mvp A meeting because I had like one version 1553 01:13:08,840 --> 01:13:10,840 Speaker 5: of Kyrie in my head, like you what to do? 1554 01:13:11,720 --> 01:13:15,160 Speaker 5: Jeror's like, I just I don't know. It's gonna be more 1558 01:13:23,760 --> 01:13:27,360 Speaker 5: like preppy and like he's gonna sound like he wearing 1559 01:13:27,400 --> 01:13:30,000 Speaker 5: a polo shirt. Like That's how I felt, and like 1560 01:13:30,200 --> 01:13:32,320 Speaker 5: I sat down with him, I was like, oh dude, 1561 01:13:32,360 --> 01:13:35,599 Speaker 5: it is super like regular and chill like, and he's 1562 01:13:35,680 --> 01:13:38,519 Speaker 5: like totally here to have fun, like he's a young guy, 1563 01:13:38,600 --> 01:13:39,439 Speaker 5: like want to have fun. 1564 01:13:39,680 --> 01:13:42,600 Speaker 4: And we talked for a while. 1565 01:13:42,800 --> 01:13:48,880 Speaker 5: During the meeting, and then uh, David West had this 1566 01:13:49,200 --> 01:13:52,360 Speaker 5: uh that moment during that mvp A meeting when he 1567 01:13:52,479 --> 01:13:55,240 Speaker 5: stood up and was slamming his hands his fist saying, 1568 01:13:55,600 --> 01:13:57,400 Speaker 5: when are we gonna talk about group economics? 1569 01:13:57,479 --> 01:14:00,439 Speaker 4: Y'all? And 1583 01:14:45,280 --> 01:14:47,519 Speaker 5: you know now, you know you fast forward and think 1584 01:14:47,560 --> 01:14:49,160 Speaker 5: about it now and think about all the stuff that 1585 01:14:49,240 --> 01:14:53,479 Speaker 5: Kyrie's doing all the stuff I'm doing and all the 1586 01:14:53,560 --> 01:14:56,800 Speaker 5: things we're all doing on separate planes. And now if 1587 01:14:56,880 --> 01:15:01,040 Speaker 5: we can stick to the plan and remember to come 1588 01:15:01,160 --> 01:15:03,559 Speaker 5: back together and put our money together to do certain 1589 01:15:03,600 --> 01:15:05,040 Speaker 5: stuff to keep the power with us. 1590 01:15:05,439 --> 01:15:08,160 Speaker 4: That's the group economics that David West was talking about. 1591 01:15:08,240 --> 01:15:08,880 Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. 1592 01:15:08,960 --> 01:15:10,000 Speaker 3: So he sparked a light. 1593 01:15:10,120 --> 01:15:10,600 Speaker 4: You feel me. 1594 01:15:10,760 --> 01:15:13,160 Speaker 5: But when when I think of Kyrie, I think of 1595 01:15:13,240 --> 01:15:15,439 Speaker 5: stuff like that. Like people all the time got this 1596 01:15:16,000 --> 01:15:18,880 Speaker 5: thing where they want to put Kyrie in this category 1597 01:15:19,000 --> 01:15:22,240 Speaker 5: of like I don't know, I don't know why they like. 1598 01:15:22,520 --> 01:15:24,439 Speaker 5: I think he might handle the ball so well that 1599 01:15:24,520 --> 01:15:27,479 Speaker 5: people like want something to laugh at him about type shit. 1600 01:15:27,920 --> 01:15:31,519 Speaker 7: Anytime you think for yourself, it's gonna be a problem 1601 01:15:31,600 --> 01:15:34,479 Speaker 7: some people because more people are followers than leaders. 1602 01:15:35,160 --> 01:15:36,040 Speaker 4: So you know what I mean. 1603 01:15:36,160 --> 01:15:38,080 Speaker 5: And that's the thing that people don't understand. It's not 1604 01:15:38,160 --> 01:15:40,799 Speaker 5: rocket science. Kyrie is the leader. He thinks for hisself. 1605 01:15:41,000 --> 01:15:43,160 Speaker 5: You know, he sees outside the box. And when you 1606 01:15:43,360 --> 01:15:46,080 Speaker 5: like that, a lot of people are followers. They don't 1607 01:15:46,120 --> 01:15:48,400 Speaker 5: say they'll never understand somebody thinking for himself and going 1608 01:15:48,400 --> 01:15:50,560 Speaker 5: outside the box and trying to lead. That's what he 1609 01:15:50,640 --> 01:15:53,280 Speaker 5: always deals with real talk because they be like, they'll 1610 01:15:53,320 --> 01:15:55,320 Speaker 5: do that, and I'll be like, bro, y'all, what y'all 1611 01:15:55,360 --> 01:15:59,640 Speaker 5: don't get to see is like him explain to you 1612 01:15:59,840 --> 01:16:04,200 Speaker 5: that he grew up playing on a rim that was 1613 01:16:04,320 --> 01:16:08,400 Speaker 5: missing pieces on the backboard. So that's how he learned 1614 01:16:08,439 --> 01:16:11,240 Speaker 5: those weird angles to twist the ball off of because 1615 01:16:11,320 --> 01:16:13,519 Speaker 5: his backboard missing piece is missing. 1616 01:16:13,800 --> 01:16:14,960 Speaker 4: That's crazy. 1617 01:16:15,439 --> 01:16:18,000 Speaker 5: So picture going up to the to the rim this 1618 01:16:18,160 --> 01:16:22,000 Speaker 5: way and you have no backboard to finish now if 1619 01:16:22,040 --> 01:16:23,040 Speaker 5: somebody's on your arm. 1620 01:16:23,160 --> 01:16:26,720 Speaker 4: So he learned how to look forward, spin it to 1621 01:16:26,760 --> 01:16:28,120 Speaker 4: where it can hit the left. 1622 01:16:27,960 --> 01:16:30,640 Speaker 5: Side and go in on the right like because he 1623 01:16:30,760 --> 01:16:33,000 Speaker 5: don't have a backboard to put it on the other side. 1624 01:16:33,560 --> 01:16:36,600 Speaker 4: So that's what you have. I'm like, dog, that's insane. 1625 01:16:37,120 --> 01:16:39,160 Speaker 5: And then I watched him before the warm ups and 1626 01:16:39,280 --> 01:16:42,040 Speaker 5: every day we all do all our ship and everybody 1627 01:16:42,080 --> 01:16:45,080 Speaker 5: shit looks similar. Kyrie has this thing where he starts 1628 01:16:45,120 --> 01:16:47,920 Speaker 5: and he just sort of doing weird finishes, but it's 1629 01:16:48,080 --> 01:16:50,920 Speaker 5: every day. It's like, now you get into a game 1630 01:16:51,000 --> 01:16:53,400 Speaker 5: and you trust him, trust everything he got going on 1631 01:16:53,439 --> 01:16:56,080 Speaker 5: because he do that every day. That's how that's how 1632 01:16:56,120 --> 01:16:58,680 Speaker 5: I trusted mellowa wonder why I trusted Mellow to shoot all. 1633 01:16:59,000 --> 01:17:00,600 Speaker 4: I used to be mad too. Sure they used to 1634 01:17:00,640 --> 01:17:02,240 Speaker 4: shoot over doubles and ship. 1635 01:17:02,680 --> 01:17:04,479 Speaker 5: But then if you come into summer and you work 1636 01:17:04,520 --> 01:17:07,240 Speaker 5: out with them that nigga practice, it's a double and 1637 01:17:07,400 --> 01:17:08,120 Speaker 5: you shoot. 1638 01:17:07,840 --> 01:17:10,040 Speaker 4: Over the double. Like bro, I knew they was gonna double. 1639 01:17:10,120 --> 01:17:16,000 Speaker 4: I figured that out. We just 1765 01:22:56,640 --> 01:22:59,439 Speaker 2: had a crazy cipher the other day at the NBA 1766 01:22:59,640 --> 01:23:02,000 Speaker 2: NBP A post up shout out the team for that 1767 01:23:02,880 --> 01:23:07,960 Speaker 2: you bones highlands uh and and and Zoe Stack said 1768 01:23:08,000 --> 01:23:09,519 Speaker 2: he should have been there because he would have gone down. 1769 01:23:09,600 --> 01:23:11,680 Speaker 2: But where's your passing for music come from? 1770 01:23:12,960 --> 01:23:13,080 Speaker 7: Uh? 1771 01:23:14,320 --> 01:23:19,000 Speaker 4: I can't draw? So this is the asshold show. 1772 01:23:20,880 --> 01:23:23,599 Speaker 5: That's my that's literally why I start playing with words, 1773 01:23:23,640 --> 01:23:26,680 Speaker 5: because I couldn't draw like my mama could draw. My 1774 01:23:27,840 --> 01:23:30,680 Speaker 5: my brother could really draw like they can draw, like 1775 01:23:31,160 --> 01:23:36,400 Speaker 5: like beautiful paintings like my brother like without the education 1776 01:23:36,600 --> 01:23:40,040 Speaker 5: of art, could naturally just do stuff like my cousins 1777 01:23:40,080 --> 01:23:42,559 Speaker 5: could do stuff. My granddad was an artist. So it's 1778 01:23:42,600 --> 01:23:46,559 Speaker 5: like I was so like blue, like why can't I draw? 1779 01:23:47,040 --> 01:23:51,640 Speaker 4: Like I sucked? I can't draw, yeah, like together, So 1780 01:23:51,760 --> 01:23:53,280 Speaker 4: I start paying pictures with words. 1781 01:23:53,439 --> 01:23:55,360 Speaker 5: That was my thing, Like I can't I could tell 1782 01:23:55,400 --> 01:23:59,040 Speaker 5: you exactly, I could tell you how something look. I 1783 01:23:59,080 --> 01:24:01,720 Speaker 5: could describe some ship that really don't look that good. 1784 01:24:01,800 --> 01:24:03,840 Speaker 5: But after I say, you're man, I'm gonna pull up. 1785 01:24:03,920 --> 01:24:04,800 Speaker 4: That's the same way. 1786 01:24:04,960 --> 01:24:07,519 Speaker 5: Yeah, but everything I say is really there is just 1787 01:24:07,640 --> 01:24:09,760 Speaker 5: it don't look as nice as it sounded. And I 1788 01:24:09,880 --> 01:24:11,880 Speaker 5: realized I could do that with words. So that demand led to them 2007 01:34:41,280 --> 01:34:43,799 Speaker 5: saying they wanted me to do a podcast. I originally 2008 01:34:43,920 --> 01:34:48,559 Speaker 5: didn't feel comfortable in saying like, uh, yeah, I'm gonna sit. 2009 01:34:48,560 --> 01:34:51,160 Speaker 4: Down with somebody, like, uh, what's the buddy? 2010 01:34:51,240 --> 01:34:53,920 Speaker 5: They used to add that so where he usually talking 2011 01:34:54,040 --> 01:34:58,439 Speaker 5: crazy to people with like crazy wild hair, howis Stern? 2012 01:35:00,040 --> 01:35:02,080 Speaker 5: I used to be like thinking like I don't want 2013 01:35:02,120 --> 01:35:03,640 Speaker 5: to be how it's thuned. I don't think I can 2014 01:35:03,760 --> 01:35:05,759 Speaker 5: hold down the talk show that long. 2015 01:35:05,880 --> 01:35:09,000 Speaker 4: And Corner one, yeah you can't hold no corner show 2016 01:35:09,080 --> 01:35:10,599 Speaker 4: down ship. 2017 01:35:10,920 --> 01:35:12,479 Speaker 5: But it was just like I don't think I could 2018 01:35:12,520 --> 01:35:14,080 Speaker 5: sit down like how you see it, like I won't 2019 01:35:14,120 --> 01:35:17,280 Speaker 5: talk to people sometimes. I just like I think that 2020 01:35:17,600 --> 01:35:19,720 Speaker 5: because we have a job where sometimes you have to 2021 01:35:19,840 --> 01:35:22,760 Speaker 5: be an entertainer, so to speak, Like the moment I 2022 01:35:22,800 --> 01:35:24,880 Speaker 5: get to shut that down, I totally love to go 2023 01:35:25,040 --> 01:35:27,439 Speaker 5: back to being a kid and yeah, I don't have 2024 01:35:27,520 --> 01:35:29,360 Speaker 5: to talk to y'all. There's so many of 2087 01:38:20,040 --> 01:38:24,360 Speaker 5: us that really take that identity as like what you said, Jack, 2088 01:38:24,680 --> 01:38:26,920 Speaker 5: when they give you the man you were supposed to hoop, 2089 01:38:27,920 --> 01:38:29,720 Speaker 5: It's like, Bro, you think that man ain't supposed to 2090 01:38:29,800 --> 01:38:32,960 Speaker 5: learn how to use his money than anything else what 2091 01:38:34,160 --> 01:38:37,000 Speaker 5: you're supposed to be hooping. So you think that he 2092 01:38:37,200 --> 01:38:38,760 Speaker 5: just go to get money in there, he's just gonna 2093 01:38:38,840 --> 01:38:41,000 Speaker 5: keep it in the bank forever, like and never spend it. 2094 01:38:42,479 --> 01:38:44,040 Speaker 5: You don't think he want to have a excuse me 2095 01:38:44,160 --> 01:38:46,040 Speaker 5: have a restaurant. He couldn't have been a kid in 2096 01:38:46,080 --> 01:38:48,000 Speaker 5: one of the restaurants and thought that the money from 2097 01:38:48,000 --> 01:38:49,400 Speaker 5: basketball could get him a restaurant. 2098 01:38:49,880 --> 01:38:50,479 Speaker 4: It's not okay. 2099 01:38:51,320 --> 01:38:54,360 Speaker 5: But everybody be cool with getting their job, and as 2100 01:38:54,400 --> 01:38:56,200 Speaker 5: soon as they get their job, they set up ten 2101 01:38:56,240 --> 01:39:00,120 Speaker 5: other businesses and they do it great for themselves and 2102 01:39:00,160 --> 01:39:02,240 Speaker 5: all this other shit. It's like, bro, y'all all go 2103 01:39:02,400 --> 01:39:03,960 Speaker 5: do it. But it's like y'all mad at us for 2104 01:39:04,080 --> 01:39:06,759 Speaker 5: wanting to play basketball. Y'all could have hooped too, motherfucker, 2105 01:39:06,840 --> 01:39:09,920 Speaker 5: go hoop shit. Y'all still gonna take your tie off 2106 01:39:10,000 --> 01:39:12,960 Speaker 5: after yr. I see everybody that work on Wall Street, 2107 01:39:13,320 --> 01:39:15,680 Speaker 5: whether they do it, y'all take y'all tie, Loosen that 2108 01:39:15,720 --> 01:39:16,559 Speaker 5: shit up, and come to. 2109 01:39:16,640 --> 01:39:17,599 Speaker 4: The game, y'all. 2110 01:39:17,840 --> 01:39:19,560 Speaker 5: If we don't have a game, y'all playing at the 2111 01:39:19,640 --> 01:39:22,640 Speaker 5: gym together, and y'all play ball for free. It got 2112 01:39:22,720 --> 01:39:26,000 Speaker 5: paid differ, but we're gonna all go out there and 2113 01:39:26,080 --> 01:39:29,400 Speaker 5: do that. So I just like, I love bringing guests 2114 01:39:29,479 --> 01:39:32,960 Speaker 5: on now and being able to pick their brain one 2115 01:39:33,120 --> 01:39:38,160 Speaker 5: because these conversations happen, and we sometimes don't appreciate it 2116 01:39:38,240 --> 01:39:40,640 Speaker 5: all the way. We just sort of have the conversations, right, 2117 01:39:41,400 --> 01:39:42,800 Speaker 5: But every once in a while I go through my 2118 01:39:42,960 --> 01:39:46,800 Speaker 5: DMS and people be like, yo, man, that conversation y'all 2119 01:39:46,960 --> 01:39:49,840 Speaker 5: had when y'all touched on this topic. I was going 2120 01:39:49,960 --> 01:39:52,920 Speaker 5: through that right then, right there, and I needed that, 2121 01:39:53,439 --> 01:39:56,280 Speaker 5: and y'all casually talked about it, but y'all opened up, 2122 01:39:56,600 --> 01:39:59,240 Speaker 5: y'all spit it raw like, and they take shit from 2123 01:39:59,320 --> 01:40:02,320 Speaker 5: us because it's like y'all not on here, Like. 2124 01:40:02,360 --> 01:40:04,479 Speaker 4: I could tell y'all not acting like somebody else. This 2125 01:40:04,560 --> 01:40:05,400 Speaker 4: conversation is so. 2126 01:40:05,479 --> 01:40:07,120 Speaker 3: Long, shump got through it. I could do it if 2127 01:40:07,200 --> 01:40:08,280 Speaker 3: you go through what I could do it. 2128 01:40:09,760 --> 01:40:12,000 Speaker 5: They feel like that, like, bro, I listened to them 2129 01:40:12,040 --> 01:40:13,800 Speaker 5: for an hour and I could hear like their guard 2130 01:40:13,920 --> 01:40:16,640 Speaker 5: is down, like they're not. It's not Yeah, this is 2131 01:40:16,720 --> 01:40:20,920 Speaker 5: not a politically correct conversation, so to speak. When you 2132 01:40:21,120 --> 01:40:23,640 Speaker 5: have those things and you you see those responses of 2133 01:40:23,680 --> 01:40:25,400 Speaker 5: people saying, like, man, I was going through it, and 2134 01:40:25,479 --> 01:40:29,120 Speaker 5: y'all talked about mental health today and seeing that athlete, sir, 2135 01:40:29,880 --> 01:40:32,000 Speaker 5: you know, dealing with these type of things, and let 2136 01:40:32,080 --> 01:40:33,760 Speaker 5: me know to just hold on to the rope, like 2137 01:40:33,840 --> 01:40:35,560 Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying, Like maybe I'm not like 2138 01:40:35,680 --> 01:40:38,000 Speaker 5: everybody's going through this and that's okay. It's okay to 2139 01:40:38,080 --> 01:40:40,240 Speaker 5: go through this for a day like like you have 2140 01:40:40,439 --> 01:40:45,200 Speaker 5: these things and having that reinforcement from fans and having uh, 2141 01:40:45,840 --> 01:40:47,519 Speaker 5: you know, the people that work behind the scenes for 2142 01:40:47,560 --> 01:40:49,920 Speaker 5: the podcast, like them being able to come in and 2143 01:40:50,200 --> 01:40:54,200 Speaker 5: just tell you about how the podcast is doing. How 2144 01:40:54,240 --> 01:40:58,120 Speaker 5: do you monetize this? It's like constantly learning, constantly bringing 2145 01:40:58,160 --> 01:41:01,800 Speaker 5: you Yeah, so it's like to continue to be able 2146 01:41:01,880 --> 01:41:04,840 Speaker 5: to do that after playing ball and for people to 2147 01:41:04,880 --> 01:41:07,439 Speaker 5: even give a fuck about what we want to talk about. 2148 01:41:07,560 --> 01:41:10,080 Speaker 5: And you know, the stories that that we got, it's 2149 01:41:10,200 --> 01:41:11,720 Speaker 5: like to share them.
