I think that 0:01:26.400 --> 0:01:28.480 in a lot of ways, America likes to have it 0:01:28.560 --> 0:01:34.399 both ways right where we want to celebrate our founding 0:01:34.560 --> 0:01:40.440 fathers and breaking away from the oppression of British rule 0:01:40.840 --> 0:01:44.480 and not wanting to pay taxes and wanting to be 0:01:44.560 --> 0:01:49.120 religious zealous and coming to this new land and creating 0:01:49.280 --> 0:01:54.840 a never before seen democratic government at the same time, 0:01:56.000 --> 0:02:01.600 right at the same time, the founders of this nation 0:02:02.560 --> 0:02:11.440 came to occupied land, murdered, raped, and tortured the indigenous 0:02:11.480 --> 0:02:17.920 population that welcomed them, try to enslave them, but they 0:02:18.000 --> 0:02:20.760 knew too much about the land, so they would later 0:02:21.720 --> 0:02:30.240 develop the Transatlantic slave trade to bring in enslaved people 0:02:30.600 --> 0:02:36.120 in shackles who would then build their dream.
