I'm sure Tony has some thoughts about the 14 00:00:58,480 --> 00:01:01,560 Speaker 1: offensive line spot and someone of positions. We have plenty 15 00:01:01,600 --> 00:01:04,959 Speaker 1: of social media questions. People have been clamoring to get 16 00:01:04,959 --> 00:01:08,080 Speaker 1: their questions in for Pete and Tony, and we'll go 17 00:01:08,120 --> 00:01:11,880 Speaker 1: around the National Football League. Tony Boselli is with me 18 00:01:12,000 --> 00:01:16,200 Speaker 1: here in studio. Pete Frisco is not He's down in 19 00:01:16,280 --> 00:01:19,960 Speaker 1: South Florida. But uh boy, it's great to see you 20 00:01:20,000 --> 00:01:23,880 Speaker 1: both again. Guys. What's up Tony? Oh doing good? To 21 00:01:25,480 --> 00:01:32,520 Speaker 1: the seat? One minute, Tony? One minute to get to 22 00:01:32,600 --> 00:01:34,679 Speaker 1: your seat? Did you get to your seat? Al right? 23 00:01:34,760 --> 00:01:40,080 Speaker 1: Drake to sell, I feel like we're at practice. Wait 24 00:01:40,120 --> 00:01:43,320 Speaker 1: a second. I mean I might need that. That might 25 00:01:43,360 --> 00:01:48,640 Speaker 1: help me a little direction, A little direction, one less 26 00:01:48,640 --> 00:01:51,680 Speaker 1: thing to think about, think about. I mean, Pete, you 27 00:01:51,760 --> 00:01:55,400 Speaker 1: mock it a little bit. I like it. It's organized detail. 28 00:01:55,680 --> 00:01:58,400 Speaker 1: You might act you might actually need it for this show. 29 00:01:58,440 --> 00:02:00,240 Speaker 1: By the way, how many times last year a p 30 00:02:00,800 --> 00:02:05,800 Speaker 1: was he like wandering away and paying no attention right 31 00:02:05,840 --> 00:02:08,840 Speaker 1: before this show today? Pete? I mean he literally sat 32 00:02:08,840 --> 00:02:11,680 Speaker 1: in the chair ten seconds before the show started on time, 33 00:02:11,720 --> 00:02:16,360 Speaker 1: baby time. I don't know, man, Well, I mean, Pete, 34 00:02:16,400 --> 00:02:19,919 Speaker 1: you're a practice. You don't like the the loudspeaker, the 35 00:02:20,080 --> 00:02:25,200 Speaker 1: uh P A counting down thirty seconds next, drill hydrate, 36 00:02:25,280 --> 00:02:32,440 Speaker 1: hydrate hydrate ten nine. Hey, I mean I can only imagine. 37 00:02:32,440 --> 00:02:35,400 Speaker 1: I'm sure as a veteran, you know, you know, we 38 00:02:35,440 --> 00:02:37,920 Speaker 1: would have fun with it. But the one thing I 39 00:02:37,919 --> 00:02:43,000 Speaker 1: do appreciate, and I've been super impressed, Um, they were 40 00:02:43,000 --> 00:02:45,959 Speaker 1: in a tight camp. It is organized and everyone knows 41 00:02:46,040 --> 00:02:50,240 Speaker 1: exactly where to go, when to be there, move movement before, 42 00:02:50,600 --> 00:02:53,440 Speaker 1: in between drills, not a lot of waste time, Pete. 43 00:02:53,440 --> 00:02:57,280 Speaker 1: It reminds me a little bit of Tom. I mean 44 00:02:57,320 --> 00:03:00,560 Speaker 1: Tom was Yeah, practices are crisp. I get give them that. 45 00:03:00,560 --> 00:03:02,960 Speaker 1: They they moved, they get it moving, they do it 46 00:03:03,000 --> 00:03:05,600 Speaker 1: the right way. I just you know me, Tony, I'm 47 00:03:05,639 --> 00:03:08,520 Speaker 1: a little old school. I don't. I mean, you don't 48 00:03:08,560 --> 00:03:11,919 Speaker 1: need that microphone out there. You get a horn in 49 00:03:11,960 --> 00:03:14,320 Speaker 1: a whistle, I mean, come on it, just like it 50 00:03:14,360 --> 00:03:16,280 Speaker 1: took me a long time to get used to music 51 00:03:16,360 --> 00:03:18,400 Speaker 1: on the practice here, which I still don't like, by 52 00:03:18,480 --> 00:03:21,400 Speaker 1: the way. Um, I just, I just I'm old school. 53 00:03:21,440 --> 00:03:23,239 Speaker 1: I want to I want to see the coach. Coach 54 00:03:23,480 --> 00:03:26,280 Speaker 1: blow the whistle, blow the horn. Yeah, there's no music 55 00:03:26,280 --> 00:03:29,080 Speaker 1: out there. There's some music. It's not as loud as 56 00:03:29,400 --> 00:03:31,160 Speaker 1: the music is not as loud. I mean, you know 57 00:03:31,240 --> 00:03:33,839 Speaker 1: they want to save some ear drums. That's fine, I'll 58 00:03:33,840 --> 00:03:36,880 Speaker 1: still beat. It reminds It reminds me of Tom when 59 00:03:36,920 --> 00:03:38,920 Speaker 1: I remember when I was a rookie, and I mean 60 00:03:38,960 --> 00:03:42,000 Speaker 1: my whole time here while there was no one counting down, 61 00:03:42,080 --> 00:03:44,680 Speaker 1: there might as well be because it was Tom screaming 62 00:03:45,000 --> 00:03:48,040 Speaker 1: to get to the next drill and that buzzer went 63 00:03:48,080 --> 00:03:51,080 Speaker 1: off and you better be moving. Yeah. I just still 64 00:03:51,120 --> 00:03:52,920 Speaker 1: the Urbans the type to scream at the top of 65 00:03:52,960 --> 00:03:55,640 Speaker 1: his lungs like he's not gonna be doing that. Well, 66 00:03:55,720 --> 00:03:59,240 Speaker 1: if it wasn't, it wasn't. If it wasn't tom My 67 00:04:00,240 --> 00:04:03,240 Speaker 1: Mike maser late Mike Maser Um who passed away a 68 00:04:03,280 --> 00:04:05,440 Speaker 1: few years ago, my offensive line coach. He was in 69 00:04:05,440 --> 00:04:08,880 Speaker 1: your ear making sure And I'll never forget that first 70 00:04:09,200 --> 00:04:12,360 Speaker 1: the first minigam buzzer went off and you're looking around 71 00:04:12,400 --> 00:04:14,480 Speaker 1: and you better be spritting to the next you know, 72 00:04:14,680 --> 00:04:17,039 Speaker 1: the next spot. And it reminds me a little bit 73 00:04:17,040 --> 00:04:19,719 Speaker 1: of that very organized Um. And the other thing that 74 00:04:19,839 --> 00:04:24,760 Speaker 1: jumped out at me from practice is Urban's involvement, Like 75 00:04:24,800 --> 00:04:29,320 Speaker 1: if anyone was questioning his energy level, his passion, you know, 76 00:04:29,360 --> 00:04:32,919 Speaker 1: that was a lot of talk like making the transition 77 00:04:32,960 --> 00:04:35,480 Speaker 1: to the pro game, you know, coming out of the booth. 78 00:04:36,000 --> 00:04:38,120 Speaker 1: You know he had the health issues in the past 79 00:04:38,279 --> 00:04:41,719 Speaker 1: where you're gonna get you know, Urban at his best. Well, 80 00:04:42,640 --> 00:04:47,320 Speaker 1: so far he's answered that question because it is full energy, 81 00:04:48,080 --> 00:04:53,359 Speaker 1: ton of you know, juice and him involved participating, you know, 82 00:04:53,440 --> 00:04:56,760 Speaker 1: working with guys one on one um in the middle 83 00:04:56,760 --> 00:04:59,839 Speaker 1: of the drills, like like in the middle of the drills, 84 00:05:00,400 --> 00:05:03,200 Speaker 1: in running around. I agree. I agree that was impressive 85 00:05:03,240 --> 00:05:07,120 Speaker 1: that he does. Anybody who questions his energy level in 86 00:05:07,240 --> 00:05:09,640 Speaker 1: terms of being involved in being active that that that 87 00:05:09,720 --> 00:05:12,640 Speaker 1: was misguided. I don't. I don't see that at all. 88 00:05:13,000 --> 00:05:15,640 Speaker 1: But I will say this, the only three people in 89 00:05:15,680 --> 00:05:18,320 Speaker 1: the city of Jacksonville who aren't a coach on that 90 00:05:18,400 --> 00:05:21,719 Speaker 1: staff for us three. I mean, how do you coach four? 91 00:05:22,640 --> 00:05:25,599 Speaker 1: Two in the field is Fault it's new and Peter, 92 00:05:25,640 --> 00:05:28,640 Speaker 1: it's the new NFL. Every player has a coach. You 93 00:05:28,640 --> 00:05:31,919 Speaker 1: have your personal coach, they say. Listen, they said it 94 00:05:31,960 --> 00:05:33,800 Speaker 1: was gonna be all about the players. My goodness, it 95 00:05:33,920 --> 00:05:37,240 Speaker 1: is every guy. Everybody's got their own personal athletic trainer too. 96 00:05:37,240 --> 00:05:41,080 Speaker 1: I mean, there's more trainers and equipment guys and coaches 97 00:05:41,320 --> 00:05:44,640 Speaker 1: and strength coaches. And you can't get right here. You're 98 00:05:44,680 --> 00:05:47,279 Speaker 1: not getting right anywhere. That I've been doing this for 99 00:05:47,320 --> 00:05:50,320 Speaker 1: a long time and I travel around the league, and 100 00:05:50,400 --> 00:05:53,920 Speaker 1: I don't ever remember seeing that many people on a 101 00:05:54,000 --> 00:05:58,719 Speaker 1: practice field. I don't. Everybody has jaguars garb on the 102 00:05:58,960 --> 00:06:01,880 Speaker 1: entire field is full of it. No, there's a lot 103 00:06:01,880 --> 00:06:06,799 Speaker 1: of people. It'll be interesting to see it because stuff. 104 00:06:06,920 --> 00:06:09,159 Speaker 1: You wonder how many of those will disappear once camp's over. 105 00:06:09,520 --> 00:06:12,080 Speaker 1: But if you look at the list of coach, I mean, 106 00:06:12,080 --> 00:06:15,080 Speaker 1: there's a bunch of coaches and you have multiple linebacker coaches, 107 00:06:15,200 --> 00:06:20,240 Speaker 1: multiple secondary coaches. I think your nickel coach, I mean, 108 00:06:20,320 --> 00:06:24,119 Speaker 1: you have I'm waiting for the you know, I'm waiting 109 00:06:24,120 --> 00:06:26,320 Speaker 1: for the day where there's a tackle coach, guard coach, 110 00:06:26,360 --> 00:06:31,400 Speaker 1: center coaching. It just I mean, you know, you get 111 00:06:31,400 --> 00:06:34,039 Speaker 1: away with that at Alabama. You do that at Alabama. 112 00:06:34,040 --> 00:06:35,520 Speaker 1: Do that to college because he does it. You know, 113 00:06:35,600 --> 00:06:40,200 Speaker 1: he starts the rules by making guys voluntary coaches or whatever. 114 00:06:40,680 --> 00:06:43,400 Speaker 1: But in the NFL, you gotta pay those guys. Guys 115 00:06:43,400 --> 00:06:46,160 Speaker 1: are getting paid. That's a big expense. Kudos to set 116 00:06:46,240 --> 00:06:49,560 Speaker 1: Kahn for doing it. I mean, urban's you know, I'm 117 00:06:49,600 --> 00:06:53,040 Speaker 1: kidding around about the sort of about the microphone. You're 118 00:06:53,080 --> 00:06:57,640 Speaker 1: not long bit for me. Come on, you know me 119 00:06:57,760 --> 00:06:59,440 Speaker 1: better than that. Every time the cell he's not in 120 00:06:59,520 --> 00:07:01,320 Speaker 1: his chair in the chair ton he was only good 121 00:07:01,320 --> 00:07:04,720 Speaker 1: in the jaire. But he does he is moving this 122 00:07:04,760 --> 00:07:07,440 Speaker 1: team in the right direction in a lot of ways. Though, 123 00:07:07,640 --> 00:07:10,960 Speaker 1: I mean, get if they get the practice facility, that's 124 00:07:10,960 --> 00:07:13,160 Speaker 1: something they needed for a long time. That there's a 125 00:07:13,160 --> 00:07:15,840 Speaker 1: lot of things moving in the right direction. So kudos 126 00:07:15,880 --> 00:07:18,560 Speaker 1: in for that. But you know me, I'm gonna stick 127 00:07:18,600 --> 00:07:21,600 Speaker 1: to the old school stuff. Well, you know, if if 128 00:07:22,320 --> 00:07:26,840 Speaker 1: and let's hope they are, if he's successful, you'll know 129 00:07:26,920 --> 00:07:29,800 Speaker 1: that more, more and more teams will go with everyone, 130 00:07:29,840 --> 00:07:32,679 Speaker 1: but Belichick will go with more and more coaches. You've 131 00:07:32,680 --> 00:07:35,760 Speaker 1: already seen it. I mean, I know other places, Pete, 132 00:07:35,760 --> 00:07:40,400 Speaker 1: maybe not to the extent here, but literally not like 133 00:07:41,320 --> 00:07:42,960 Speaker 1: they hire because I know the guy they hired. I'm 134 00:07:42,960 --> 00:07:44,400 Speaker 1: not going to mention the place, but they said they 135 00:07:44,440 --> 00:07:46,920 Speaker 1: hired the well not name names. Now, come on, it 136 00:07:47,040 --> 00:07:50,520 Speaker 1: was he was the Nickel coach. Like wait, like like 137 00:07:50,640 --> 00:07:55,080 Speaker 1: just Nickel, Yeah, coaches Nichols. I'm like, okay, I mean 138 00:07:55,120 --> 00:07:57,880 Speaker 1: I guess you know, well that is a starting position. 139 00:07:58,320 --> 00:08:01,520 Speaker 1: Come on, it's it's a part of the say, once 140 00:08:01,600 --> 00:08:05,360 Speaker 1: upon a time, Pete, there was a secondary coach that 141 00:08:05,440 --> 00:08:08,120 Speaker 1: coach safeties and corners and nickel and everything else, and 142 00:08:08,120 --> 00:08:11,160 Speaker 1: an assistant secondary coach. And now they got a safety 143 00:08:11,280 --> 00:08:14,080 Speaker 1: coach and yeah, I mean it's it's and you have 144 00:08:14,160 --> 00:08:17,960 Speaker 1: inside linebacker coach outside, linebacker, coach, assistant inside. And let's 145 00:08:18,000 --> 00:08:20,720 Speaker 1: be real. If he wins and isn't going to be 146 00:08:20,720 --> 00:08:24,080 Speaker 1: because of the coaches he has, or the horse showing 147 00:08:24,280 --> 00:08:26,680 Speaker 1: or the new this, it's gonna because of his quarterback. 148 00:08:27,200 --> 00:08:29,240 Speaker 1: But before we get to the we'll spend plenty of 149 00:08:29,320 --> 00:08:32,440 Speaker 1: time on Trevor. But my point is this is a 150 00:08:32,440 --> 00:08:36,320 Speaker 1: copycat league, and if it's successful, you'll see more and 151 00:08:36,320 --> 00:08:39,719 Speaker 1: more teams do it again, everyone but Belichick. Belichick is 152 00:08:39,760 --> 00:08:41,920 Speaker 1: the one guy who's still coaching. Like when I coach, 153 00:08:42,040 --> 00:08:45,559 Speaker 1: you have one coach here, one coach there, your coordinator 154 00:08:45,840 --> 00:08:48,480 Speaker 1: if you even name a coordinator, coordinators, coach, coach in 155 00:08:48,520 --> 00:08:52,160 Speaker 1: a position possibly And this is this is different. This 156 00:08:52,200 --> 00:08:55,880 Speaker 1: is this is where the NFL is going. Let's get 157 00:08:56,040 --> 00:08:57,920 Speaker 1: your body a lot of abouties out there in the 158 00:08:57,920 --> 00:09:02,240 Speaker 1: middle of that stretching lot. That's right. Holy cow, it's chaotic. 159 00:09:02,360 --> 00:09:04,960 Speaker 1: I get nervous watching the stretching line because there's people 160 00:09:05,040 --> 00:09:08,040 Speaker 1: run around, throwing football's, high fiving each other. I mean, 161 00:09:08,080 --> 00:09:12,719 Speaker 1: there's a lot going on. It's like an assembly line. You, 162 00:09:13,160 --> 00:09:15,360 Speaker 1: I mean there's a coordination to that. See it great 163 00:09:15,400 --> 00:09:17,120 Speaker 1: to see you have a good practice, up and back 164 00:09:17,160 --> 00:09:18,920 Speaker 1: and up and back. By the time you've done stretching, 165 00:09:19,520 --> 00:09:23,040 Speaker 1: two guys have talked to you. Yeah, that's right. Let's 166 00:09:23,240 --> 00:09:26,480 Speaker 1: review the weekend Urban Meyers first NFL training camp. They 167 00:09:26,480 --> 00:09:29,120 Speaker 1: had a scrimmage Saturday in the final open practice on 168 00:09:29,160 --> 00:09:31,920 Speaker 1: the Drink Finders Homes practice complex and then moved into 169 00:09:31,960 --> 00:09:34,440 Speaker 1: the stadium Sunday, took the pads off and did a 170 00:09:34,480 --> 00:09:37,840 Speaker 1: mock game, working on scenarios and situations in front of 171 00:09:37,880 --> 00:09:42,720 Speaker 1: over fifteen thousand inside the stadium Sunday morning. Trevor Lawrence. 172 00:09:42,800 --> 00:09:45,880 Speaker 1: We heard from the Jaguars quarterback after that practice. He 173 00:09:46,000 --> 00:09:49,199 Speaker 1: enjoyed being in the bank, but having the fans out 174 00:09:49,200 --> 00:09:52,600 Speaker 1: here is always awesome. Um, just really excited for this season, 175 00:09:52,640 --> 00:09:54,680 Speaker 1: and you tell there's just a lot of energy around here. 176 00:09:54,720 --> 00:09:56,720 Speaker 1: So we're we're pumped. We've had a great camp and 177 00:09:56,720 --> 00:09:58,559 Speaker 1: it was fun to have a little scrimmage day in 178 00:09:58,559 --> 00:10:01,000 Speaker 1: front of some of the fans. Good to hear from Trevor, 179 00:10:01,080 --> 00:10:02,840 Speaker 1: and I'm not sure if we're gonna hear from him 180 00:10:02,880 --> 00:10:05,760 Speaker 1: before preseason week one. We'll get to the playing and 181 00:10:05,800 --> 00:10:07,840 Speaker 1: the all that coming up. But they were in the 182 00:10:07,840 --> 00:10:10,760 Speaker 1: stadium Tony on Sunday morning. Yeah, and you know, a 183 00:10:10,800 --> 00:10:14,360 Speaker 1: little bit of backlash, probably the maybe the maybe the 184 00:10:14,440 --> 00:10:21,680 Speaker 1: first like negative fan reaction to UM the Urban Meyer era, 185 00:10:22,160 --> 00:10:27,000 Speaker 1: you know, because it was positioned and communicated forever that 186 00:10:27,720 --> 00:10:30,200 Speaker 1: Saturday or Sunday was going to be a scrimmage for 187 00:10:30,280 --> 00:10:31,880 Speaker 1: all the fans that come see And when you think 188 00:10:31,880 --> 00:10:33,800 Speaker 1: of scrimmage, you think of pads and hitting and getting 189 00:10:33,800 --> 00:10:36,360 Speaker 1: after it and kind of your first and because historically 190 00:10:36,360 --> 00:10:39,400 Speaker 1: that's what's happened, there's been once you know, whether it's 191 00:10:39,400 --> 00:10:42,160 Speaker 1: a Saturday night scrimmage or Sunday afternoon or whatever, it 192 00:10:42,160 --> 00:10:44,840 Speaker 1: doesn't matter. Like a big dress rehearsal and r there 193 00:10:44,920 --> 00:10:48,600 Speaker 1: in a big moment and fans come out and last minute, 194 00:10:49,040 --> 00:10:51,400 Speaker 1: at Leastaway's described to me is last minute. You know, 195 00:10:51,600 --> 00:10:53,520 Speaker 1: Urban decided to take the pads off and make it 196 00:10:53,559 --> 00:10:56,880 Speaker 1: more of a you know, it wasn't full speed, but 197 00:10:56,960 --> 00:10:59,880 Speaker 1: like go through and get some game situations. It was 198 00:10:59,880 --> 00:11:01,880 Speaker 1: a good to Chris practice, nothing wrong with it, but 199 00:11:02,040 --> 00:11:07,760 Speaker 1: much different UM than the fans were expecting. And any time, listen, 200 00:11:07,800 --> 00:11:10,679 Speaker 1: this is the entertainment business. Anytime you're in the business 201 00:11:10,720 --> 00:11:12,719 Speaker 1: like this and you set expectations and don't mean that 202 00:11:12,800 --> 00:11:15,000 Speaker 1: you're gonna hear about it. And boy, it was on 203 00:11:15,040 --> 00:11:17,800 Speaker 1: talk radio day. My I was my text was blowing 204 00:11:17,880 --> 00:11:22,040 Speaker 1: up from people and my point was, I get it. 205 00:11:22,120 --> 00:11:26,400 Speaker 1: I get the fans being disappointed because you again, the 206 00:11:26,480 --> 00:11:28,120 Speaker 1: question is why couldn't you do what you did on 207 00:11:28,120 --> 00:11:30,280 Speaker 1: Saturday on Sunday because that was a scrimage. That's what 208 00:11:30,320 --> 00:11:33,520 Speaker 1: we want to see. And you know you there's in 209 00:11:33,600 --> 00:11:36,959 Speaker 1: the frustration is fine, But at the end of the day, 210 00:11:37,720 --> 00:11:41,760 Speaker 1: Urban Meyer's job is to make sure his team is 211 00:11:41,840 --> 00:11:45,640 Speaker 1: ready for Saturday, this first preseason game, and even more importantly, 212 00:11:46,120 --> 00:11:48,720 Speaker 1: is ready for the opener when they fly to Houston 213 00:11:49,240 --> 00:11:51,880 Speaker 1: and be ready for that game. And so from what 214 00:11:51,920 --> 00:11:54,440 Speaker 1: I understand and what I heard is like, listen, you 215 00:11:54,480 --> 00:11:56,200 Speaker 1: had a couple of people nicked up a little bit 216 00:11:56,280 --> 00:11:59,880 Speaker 1: on Saturday. Urban with his coaching staff and probably the 217 00:11:59,880 --> 00:12:03,560 Speaker 1: medical staff and the strange staff, all got together and said, hey, 218 00:12:03,679 --> 00:12:06,800 Speaker 1: let's look at this and let's evaluate what what is 219 00:12:06,880 --> 00:12:11,520 Speaker 1: best for our team. Maybe hindsight, we could have done different, 220 00:12:11,559 --> 00:12:13,960 Speaker 1: but we're here now, this is where we are, so 221 00:12:14,040 --> 00:12:17,480 Speaker 1: let's make the right decision for the team. And that 222 00:12:17,559 --> 00:12:20,680 Speaker 1: decision was made. And he knows his team better than anybody. 223 00:12:21,000 --> 00:12:22,679 Speaker 1: You hire him as your head coach. You hire him 224 00:12:22,720 --> 00:12:25,160 Speaker 1: as the czar, the leader of this football organization. You 225 00:12:25,200 --> 00:12:28,040 Speaker 1: have to trust them, and he made he made the 226 00:12:28,080 --> 00:12:30,080 Speaker 1: decision what was best is to take the pads off, 227 00:12:30,160 --> 00:12:31,800 Speaker 1: give them, give them guys a little bit of a 228 00:12:31,840 --> 00:12:34,240 Speaker 1: break after a really physical day of the day before 229 00:12:34,720 --> 00:12:37,720 Speaker 1: and uh, especially going into the first preseason week. So 230 00:12:38,080 --> 00:12:40,720 Speaker 1: I get it. I'm actually I actually get both sides. 231 00:12:41,040 --> 00:12:44,440 Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, J P. Pete, 232 00:12:45,040 --> 00:12:47,839 Speaker 1: does anyone care a week from now if they come 233 00:12:47,840 --> 00:12:50,319 Speaker 1: out and everyone sees Trevor Lawrence and they have a 234 00:12:50,400 --> 00:12:52,240 Speaker 1: couple of good series or they get out there and hit, 235 00:12:52,640 --> 00:12:55,600 Speaker 1: and does anyone care if they go into Houston after 236 00:12:55,640 --> 00:12:57,160 Speaker 1: they go in to Houston and get, you know, an 237 00:12:57,160 --> 00:13:02,199 Speaker 1: opening season win, No one's gonna care. I cared. I cared. 238 00:13:02,240 --> 00:13:04,080 Speaker 1: You don't want to care? Could I? I nestled in 239 00:13:04,080 --> 00:13:07,440 Speaker 1: to watch it yesterday on online and they cut it off. 240 00:13:07,480 --> 00:13:12,240 Speaker 1: There was nothing zero I wanted to watch. I get 241 00:13:12,280 --> 00:13:15,559 Speaker 1: to see it, but it didn't. Erman's job is to 242 00:13:15,640 --> 00:13:18,440 Speaker 1: what get his team ready. I get it. Tony and 243 00:13:18,440 --> 00:13:20,480 Speaker 1: I have no problem. If he thought they were too 244 00:13:20,480 --> 00:13:24,120 Speaker 1: physical on Saturday and I felt that he needed to 245 00:13:24,120 --> 00:13:26,680 Speaker 1: pull back on Sunday. I have I respect that. I 246 00:13:26,720 --> 00:13:30,440 Speaker 1: respect that decision, But why didn't you flop the days? Now, 247 00:13:30,480 --> 00:13:32,400 Speaker 1: this is a question that we don't know. If you're 248 00:13:32,400 --> 00:13:34,440 Speaker 1: gonna be physical, why didn't you be physical on Sunday? 249 00:13:34,480 --> 00:13:36,840 Speaker 1: Isn't too close to the game on Saturday this week? 250 00:13:37,320 --> 00:13:41,040 Speaker 1: You know what I mean? But but okay, And the 251 00:13:41,040 --> 00:13:43,040 Speaker 1: answer to that question is he should have flopped the 252 00:13:43,120 --> 00:13:45,600 Speaker 1: days and taken care of the fans. You know what 253 00:13:45,640 --> 00:13:48,880 Speaker 1: it says though, it shows who's in charge across the board, 254 00:13:49,320 --> 00:13:51,760 Speaker 1: because if you're a marketing guy on that team you're 255 00:13:51,760 --> 00:13:55,360 Speaker 1: not happy with what happened yesterday, you can't be I 256 00:13:55,440 --> 00:13:57,760 Speaker 1: had people griping at me on Twitter. They were mumbling 257 00:13:57,760 --> 00:13:59,840 Speaker 1: and growing in him and people out of town they 258 00:13:59,840 --> 00:14:01,719 Speaker 1: say they were gonna are not in tab but they 259 00:14:01,720 --> 00:14:03,679 Speaker 1: were like insane, August you or whatever. They said they 260 00:14:03,679 --> 00:14:05,960 Speaker 1: were gonna come. And then decided no, I'll watch it 261 00:14:06,000 --> 00:14:10,120 Speaker 1: on online and then you watch you know, Brian Sexton 262 00:14:10,200 --> 00:14:12,600 Speaker 1: and and Bucky Brooks talk for an hour and then 263 00:14:12,600 --> 00:14:16,000 Speaker 1: it went away. I wanted to watch football listen. I was. 264 00:14:16,120 --> 00:14:17,880 Speaker 1: It was we're on the We're on the air for 265 00:14:17,920 --> 00:14:21,720 Speaker 1: two hours, try talk and do a walk through peat 266 00:14:21,800 --> 00:14:25,720 Speaker 1: for two hours. I mean, it was just And here's 267 00:14:25,800 --> 00:14:28,400 Speaker 1: here's my one big problem with it. This is a 268 00:14:28,440 --> 00:14:33,280 Speaker 1: team trying to grant the fan base again, pull him in, 269 00:14:33,800 --> 00:14:36,320 Speaker 1: grant them, pull him in. And I know winning ultimately 270 00:14:36,360 --> 00:14:38,880 Speaker 1: does that, but I hear the ticket sales are good, 271 00:14:39,160 --> 00:14:41,520 Speaker 1: really good, but they're not where they're they should be 272 00:14:42,040 --> 00:14:44,560 Speaker 1: based on everything that's happened in the off season, So 273 00:14:44,720 --> 00:14:47,320 Speaker 1: why not use it as an opportunity. Not only that, 274 00:14:47,440 --> 00:14:52,160 Speaker 1: here's the other part of that. The scrimmage was great, correct, Okay, 275 00:14:52,200 --> 00:14:55,840 Speaker 1: people who can't afford to go two games during the season. 276 00:14:56,080 --> 00:14:59,400 Speaker 1: That's how you bring new fans in. You know. It's 277 00:14:59,440 --> 00:15:01,360 Speaker 1: just like, and I'm gonna give an example from just 278 00:15:01,400 --> 00:15:04,680 Speaker 1: traveling around the league. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only 279 00:15:04,720 --> 00:15:09,080 Speaker 1: allowing season ticket holders to come to their training camp practices. 280 00:15:09,760 --> 00:15:14,760 Speaker 1: That's bad, That's really bad. You know, five three years ago, 281 00:15:14,800 --> 00:15:16,680 Speaker 1: they were begging people to come to their practices and 282 00:15:16,800 --> 00:15:18,800 Speaker 1: come to their games. Now, all of a sudden, you're 283 00:15:18,800 --> 00:15:20,920 Speaker 1: cutting off people who can't afford to go to games. 284 00:15:21,000 --> 00:15:23,280 Speaker 1: There's a lot of people who can't afford NFL tickets. 285 00:15:23,560 --> 00:15:26,120 Speaker 1: They just can't. And the kids want to go see 286 00:15:26,120 --> 00:15:29,720 Speaker 1: this stuff. So there's where my pushback is on it yesterday. 287 00:15:29,920 --> 00:15:32,720 Speaker 1: I just think that you know, you you grow your product, 288 00:15:32,760 --> 00:15:34,680 Speaker 1: you tell them it's this and then it's not that, 289 00:15:35,040 --> 00:15:37,080 Speaker 1: or you put it online and you know what, do 290 00:15:37,160 --> 00:15:41,280 Speaker 1: you scare the showing plays? Yeah, I think that's the thing. Yeah, 291 00:15:41,320 --> 00:15:44,760 Speaker 1: they don't want you know, it's a new staff with 292 00:15:44,920 --> 00:15:47,400 Speaker 1: new offensive and defensive coach. I'm just telling you the 293 00:15:47,440 --> 00:15:50,120 Speaker 1: mindset you have your mindset, I'm giving the mindset that 294 00:15:51,000 --> 00:15:52,760 Speaker 1: this is where that's ridiculous. I'm just telling you, Okay, 295 00:15:52,800 --> 00:15:54,680 Speaker 1: I'm just gonna tell you why I think that's ridiculous 296 00:15:54,720 --> 00:15:58,360 Speaker 1: Because Joe Cohen is defensive care right. Yes, anyone who 297 00:15:58,400 --> 00:16:03,160 Speaker 1: watches Baltimore's film over the last several years has a 298 00:16:03,200 --> 00:16:06,400 Speaker 1: pretty good idea what Joe Colan is going to do. 299 00:16:07,440 --> 00:16:11,760 Speaker 1: Why not exactly, but guess what, by week one, the 300 00:16:11,840 --> 00:16:14,800 Speaker 1: Texans will have a really good idea because of three 301 00:16:14,800 --> 00:16:17,760 Speaker 1: preseason games, and guess what, after a Week one, every 302 00:16:17,800 --> 00:16:19,960 Speaker 1: other team for the rest of the year will know 303 00:16:20,280 --> 00:16:23,160 Speaker 1: what they're doing. Darryl Bevil was he an offensive coordinator 304 00:16:23,280 --> 00:16:26,240 Speaker 1: last year and for a long time. My guess is 305 00:16:26,680 --> 00:16:29,920 Speaker 1: they're gonna have an idea what devil Darryl Bevil likes 306 00:16:29,960 --> 00:16:35,840 Speaker 1: to do. It might not be exact Shottenheimer two, but yeah, okay, 307 00:16:37,160 --> 00:16:39,640 Speaker 1: all together, all together. And so you have an idea 308 00:16:39,680 --> 00:16:42,200 Speaker 1: of what they're gonna do. I don't buy. I have 309 00:16:42,320 --> 00:16:45,000 Speaker 1: never bought. Now you get into the playoffs and you 310 00:16:45,000 --> 00:16:51,360 Speaker 1: want to close your practices and everything else. I get that. 311 00:16:47,360 --> 00:16:54,080 Speaker 1: I agree that. I've never I've never bought in at 312 00:16:54,120 --> 00:16:56,240 Speaker 1: this time of the year of closing things off because 313 00:16:56,240 --> 00:16:59,760 Speaker 1: you're afraid of what someone's gonna learn. Like what the 314 00:16:59,760 --> 00:17:02,560 Speaker 1: other thing to Tony If I'm if I'm David Culley 315 00:17:02,600 --> 00:17:04,760 Speaker 1: and the coach in the Texans, and I got a 316 00:17:04,840 --> 00:17:07,880 Speaker 1: cousin that lives in South Carolina, I'm gonna have him 317 00:17:07,960 --> 00:17:10,560 Speaker 1: drive on down the Jacksonville and sit the stands and 318 00:17:10,600 --> 00:17:13,120 Speaker 1: watch the practice and tell me what they're doing. Nobody's 319 00:17:13,119 --> 00:17:16,640 Speaker 1: gonna know who he is. Well, and if you really 320 00:17:16,680 --> 00:17:18,879 Speaker 1: wanted to do that, well, another part I do agree 321 00:17:18,880 --> 00:17:20,399 Speaker 1: with you, and I hate agreeing with you. If you 322 00:17:20,440 --> 00:17:24,359 Speaker 1: know is and take the Jaguars out of this because 323 00:17:24,359 --> 00:17:27,320 Speaker 1: they have opened the practices and yesterday was free for everybody, 324 00:17:27,400 --> 00:17:29,399 Speaker 1: and maybe they didn't get what they expected, but anyone 325 00:17:29,440 --> 00:17:33,119 Speaker 1: could come. I do have a problem with organizations like 326 00:17:33,160 --> 00:17:35,280 Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I get that you want to 327 00:17:35,320 --> 00:17:38,280 Speaker 1: make certain that practices just for season ticket holders. We 328 00:17:38,400 --> 00:17:39,879 Speaker 1: did that here, and we did that. I'm good with 329 00:17:39,920 --> 00:17:42,000 Speaker 1: that because you're seeing telling you should get some privileges. 330 00:17:42,440 --> 00:17:44,480 Speaker 1: But at some point there should be a number of 331 00:17:44,520 --> 00:17:47,440 Speaker 1: practices open for the general public so that the kids 332 00:17:47,520 --> 00:17:50,040 Speaker 1: who can't afford to go, who loved this team and 333 00:17:50,080 --> 00:17:52,520 Speaker 1: love football. Because I remember as a kid, one of 334 00:17:52,560 --> 00:17:55,240 Speaker 1: my favorite things was to do every year to drive 335 00:17:55,240 --> 00:17:58,119 Speaker 1: from Boulder, Colorado, down to Greeley, Colorado to watch the 336 00:17:58,160 --> 00:18:01,159 Speaker 1: Denver Broncos. And now then I knew anything that was 337 00:18:01,160 --> 00:18:04,080 Speaker 1: going on, but I wanted to see my team and 338 00:18:04,160 --> 00:18:06,879 Speaker 1: walk up next to him and be around him, and 339 00:18:06,960 --> 00:18:09,120 Speaker 1: guess what, I fell in love with the game of football. 340 00:18:09,320 --> 00:18:11,800 Speaker 1: I think that is critical. That's how you build fans. 341 00:18:11,840 --> 00:18:14,440 Speaker 1: It's good. It's good for the NFL. Forget about any 342 00:18:14,440 --> 00:18:17,840 Speaker 1: one organization. It is good for the NFL, especially in 343 00:18:17,960 --> 00:18:23,040 Speaker 1: a time when there's so much negative about concussions and 344 00:18:23,080 --> 00:18:25,160 Speaker 1: blah blah blah and this and that and everything else. 345 00:18:25,640 --> 00:18:27,960 Speaker 1: You want to expose people to and get them excited. 346 00:18:28,080 --> 00:18:33,080 Speaker 1: This is a great game and so especially Ville. Right now, 347 00:18:33,119 --> 00:18:36,240 Speaker 1: it's more well, I I mean people, I think that's anywhere. 348 00:18:36,280 --> 00:18:38,120 Speaker 1: I don't care where you are. All right, guys, let's 349 00:18:38,119 --> 00:18:41,159 Speaker 1: take our first time out. Fast forward to August and here we are 427 00:23:31,440 --> 00:23:33,760 Speaker 1: on Jaguars Happy Hour on a Monday. Urban Meyer is 428 00:23:33,800 --> 00:23:36,600 Speaker 1: the head coach. Trevor Lawrence is the quarterback. J P. Shadrick, 429 00:23:36,760 --> 00:23:39,239 Speaker 1: Tony Boselli, Pete Prisco, glad you're along with us, your 430 00:23:39,320 --> 00:23:43,600 Speaker 1: social questions in the second hour tonight and up plenty 431 00:23:43,680 --> 00:23:47,760 Speaker 1: ahead in the program. Here, Trevor Lawrence is now at 432 00:23:47,840 --> 00:23:51,040 Speaker 1: quarterback for the Jaguars. Now he hasn't been handed the job, Pete, 433 00:23:51,760 --> 00:23:54,840 Speaker 1: he's still gotta earn it, Okay, like that, Let training 434 00:23:54,920 --> 00:23:58,399 Speaker 1: camp go by. Don't anoint him yet, Pete. He's got 435 00:23:58,480 --> 00:24:02,480 Speaker 1: a fight off Gardner and that third and Luton. Why 436 00:24:02,560 --> 00:24:04,760 Speaker 1: the hell isn't he getting more reps with the ones? 437 00:24:04,920 --> 00:24:06,960 Speaker 1: I can't figure that one out. That makes no sense 438 00:24:07,000 --> 00:24:12,160 Speaker 1: to me zero none. I mean there's no let's cut 439 00:24:12,240 --> 00:24:15,919 Speaker 1: the charade. Gardner Minshew isn't beating out anybody. I mean, 440 00:24:16,000 --> 00:24:18,320 Speaker 1: why why would you even play play that game? It 441 00:24:18,440 --> 00:24:20,760 Speaker 1: makes no sense. Give him all the reps you can 442 00:24:20,880 --> 00:24:23,159 Speaker 1: with the ones, get him used to playing with those guys. 443 00:24:24,119 --> 00:24:26,680 Speaker 1: If I'm not mistaken, he ran with the second team 444 00:24:26,760 --> 00:24:30,800 Speaker 1: to start to scrimage. Yet back and forth though that 445 00:24:30,960 --> 00:24:32,600 Speaker 1: they've been doing a lot of a lot of camp. 446 00:24:32,680 --> 00:24:37,359 Speaker 1: They've been kind of it's an open competition. It's an 447 00:24:37,359 --> 00:24:42,280 Speaker 1: open competition. Every every position is a competition. That's like 448 00:24:42,440 --> 00:24:47,120 Speaker 1: saying a seven year old and art classes competing with Picasso. 449 00:24:47,840 --> 00:24:50,600 Speaker 1: You get what if the kids a genius? You never 450 00:24:50,640 --> 00:24:52,600 Speaker 1: know unless you give him a shot. JP to say 451 00:24:52,640 --> 00:24:56,440 Speaker 1: every camp is open competition. They're not rolling. First of all, 452 00:24:56,960 --> 00:24:59,919 Speaker 1: I haven't seen maybe I've missed haven't been every practice, 453 00:25:00,400 --> 00:25:03,160 Speaker 1: but I've watched. I haven't seen Walker Little sharing reps 454 00:25:03,200 --> 00:25:07,399 Speaker 1: at the ones with Cam Robinson. Correct, I haven't you 455 00:25:07,520 --> 00:25:12,080 Speaker 1: know seen um, I've seen it at right tackle with 456 00:25:12,200 --> 00:25:15,600 Speaker 1: the starters. I think, well maybe not. No, he's been 457 00:25:15,640 --> 00:25:18,520 Speaker 1: getting reps at right You're right, I haven't you know, 458 00:25:18,560 --> 00:25:20,679 Speaker 1: I haven't seen you know, I got you know, Shally 459 00:25:20,800 --> 00:25:26,840 Speaker 1: running with the ones like saying jps al Michaels, Well, 460 00:25:29,000 --> 00:25:34,840 Speaker 1: that's you see I'm saying. I mean, I'm not saying 461 00:25:34,960 --> 00:25:37,399 Speaker 1: I'm not seeing Shaquille Griffin share time at corner. I 462 00:25:37,480 --> 00:25:41,239 Speaker 1: mean he's the corner now, I'm starting corner right now. 463 00:25:41,359 --> 00:25:45,919 Speaker 1: To think about it, little has had some first team stuff. 464 00:25:47,280 --> 00:25:50,159 Speaker 1: I haven't seen it. Okay, you've been My point is 465 00:25:50,840 --> 00:25:53,680 Speaker 1: I mean, is there any scenario in this world if 466 00:25:53,840 --> 00:25:57,360 Speaker 1: both guys are healthy, Like, any scenario you can think 467 00:25:57,400 --> 00:26:01,159 Speaker 1: of that Trevor Lawrence is not walking out there with 468 00:26:01,280 --> 00:26:04,639 Speaker 1: the first offense when we play in Houston, Texas? Is 469 00:26:04,680 --> 00:26:06,960 Speaker 1: there like like I I would think about the other 470 00:26:07,040 --> 00:26:09,280 Speaker 1: day because I actually agree with Pete if it was 471 00:26:09,400 --> 00:26:12,920 Speaker 1: me and again, Urbans won national titles. I have not. 472 00:26:13,480 --> 00:26:16,720 Speaker 1: So maybe there's a you go to the Sun Bowl 473 00:26:16,800 --> 00:26:19,280 Speaker 1: one year, Yeah that was not national title gun. And 474 00:26:19,359 --> 00:26:22,159 Speaker 1: maybe there's a method that he like that he is 475 00:26:22,359 --> 00:26:24,920 Speaker 1: believes in and has had success in this type of situation. 476 00:26:25,640 --> 00:26:28,119 Speaker 1: I just can't think of any scenario in the for 477 00:26:28,200 --> 00:26:30,439 Speaker 1: the life of me where Trevor Lawrence is not your 478 00:26:30,440 --> 00:26:34,520 Speaker 1: starting quarterback. And if that's the case, the dude needs reps, 479 00:26:35,080 --> 00:26:37,160 Speaker 1: as many reps as he can get with the guys 480 00:26:37,200 --> 00:26:39,440 Speaker 1: that are gonna be on the field with him. And 481 00:26:39,520 --> 00:26:44,000 Speaker 1: it's but Tony, this isn't Andy Dalton and Justin Fields. 482 00:26:44,720 --> 00:26:47,800 Speaker 1: You have a veteran who's capable, and you have a 483 00:26:47,920 --> 00:26:50,040 Speaker 1: kid who's trying to take the job. This is the 484 00:26:50,160 --> 00:26:52,560 Speaker 1: number one overall pick and a guy who proved last 485 00:26:52,600 --> 00:26:58,920 Speaker 1: year he can't play who beat debates H Pete, I'm 486 00:26:58,960 --> 00:27:02,959 Speaker 1: not I mean only I don't they agree with us? 487 00:27:03,200 --> 00:27:07,040 Speaker 1: I will say this my uh, I don't know. I'm 488 00:27:07,160 --> 00:27:12,960 Speaker 1: sure they agreed, but they mean there's just they don't well, 489 00:27:13,119 --> 00:27:16,760 Speaker 1: Pete saying is different though, JP, I'm sure true, Sir, 490 00:27:17,000 --> 00:27:20,520 Speaker 1: Sir um to Urban Urban took the job one of 491 00:27:20,560 --> 00:27:23,520 Speaker 1: the major reasons number one over the quick. The point is, 492 00:27:23,560 --> 00:27:25,119 Speaker 1: if that's the case, then why aren't you getting him 493 00:27:25,119 --> 00:27:27,720 Speaker 1: as many rips are the ones as possible question? That's 494 00:27:27,840 --> 00:27:31,119 Speaker 1: that's my only contention. I know it doesn't matter the 495 00:27:31,200 --> 00:27:34,119 Speaker 1: rest of it is just like dumb talk radio stuff 496 00:27:34,200 --> 00:27:39,520 Speaker 1: that who cares. The real question is is if that's 497 00:27:39,560 --> 00:27:41,600 Speaker 1: the case and he is your starter, then give him 498 00:27:41,600 --> 00:27:43,560 Speaker 1: as many reps as possible with the starters. That's my 499 00:27:43,640 --> 00:27:47,879 Speaker 1: only point. It makes me those you're going to be 500 00:27:48,040 --> 00:27:50,560 Speaker 1: your guys during the season, They're not gonna be Gardner 501 00:27:50,600 --> 00:27:53,480 Speaker 1: Minshew's guys. There is guys now. You can give Minshew 502 00:27:53,480 --> 00:27:55,480 Speaker 1: a few reps with the ones just in case something 503 00:27:55,520 --> 00:27:58,639 Speaker 1: happens the large and he's glory with them, But you 504 00:27:58,680 --> 00:28:01,680 Speaker 1: don't give him lit. You don't split them in and out. 505 00:28:01,800 --> 00:28:04,240 Speaker 1: That's just stupidity. I don't I don't get it. I 506 00:28:04,400 --> 00:28:07,480 Speaker 1: just don't understand. And maybe Urban knows something that I 507 00:28:07,640 --> 00:28:10,440 Speaker 1: don't know, which is more football than I do in 508 00:28:10,560 --> 00:28:12,680 Speaker 1: my life, will ever know in my lifetime. But this 509 00:28:12,840 --> 00:28:14,720 Speaker 1: is a bad decision. And you know there's over a 510 00:28:14,840 --> 00:28:20,040 Speaker 1: month to the regular season, though every rep counts. And 511 00:28:20,119 --> 00:28:22,920 Speaker 1: I promise you if you asked if any of those 512 00:28:22,960 --> 00:28:25,359 Speaker 1: coaches do you believe reps matter? Do you mean do 513 00:28:25,480 --> 00:28:28,240 Speaker 1: you think reps in August matter for September? And I 514 00:28:28,400 --> 00:28:32,159 Speaker 1: guarantee you the answer is yes. And so I just 515 00:28:32,160 --> 00:28:35,720 Speaker 1: don't understand it. I mean, but it does make me laugh, Pete, 516 00:28:35,720 --> 00:28:39,920 Speaker 1: because I remember when I got drafted by the Jacks, 517 00:28:40,040 --> 00:28:42,240 Speaker 1: and I don't even remember this. During O T A 518 00:28:42,400 --> 00:28:47,800 Speaker 1: S I ran with the threes because quote unquote, this 519 00:28:48,000 --> 00:28:52,520 Speaker 1: is no lie wanted to make sure. I urge, that's 520 00:28:52,560 --> 00:28:55,560 Speaker 1: what they're that's what they're saying. When you went to 521 00:28:55,640 --> 00:28:57,760 Speaker 1: training camp, where were you? I was with the starters. 522 00:28:57,840 --> 00:28:59,680 Speaker 1: You gotta own it, you gotta earn it. And here's 523 00:28:59,680 --> 00:29:02,480 Speaker 1: the thing Tony knows this. As an offensive lineman, you 524 00:29:02,640 --> 00:29:06,840 Speaker 1: gotta work together as you gotta get the reps. And 525 00:29:06,960 --> 00:29:09,120 Speaker 1: as a quarterback, you need to get the reps with 526 00:29:09,240 --> 00:29:11,840 Speaker 1: those guys in front of you. Not just the receivers. 527 00:29:12,640 --> 00:29:16,240 Speaker 1: I don't I just the shrain's over end it, get 528 00:29:16,280 --> 00:29:18,360 Speaker 1: it over with well, and it goes to the point. 529 00:29:18,440 --> 00:29:20,960 Speaker 1: And because here I mean again, not nothing to gains 530 00:29:21,000 --> 00:29:24,640 Speaker 1: Gardner minshew. He's he's worked extremely hard this offseason. He's 531 00:29:24,680 --> 00:29:27,440 Speaker 1: had a good camp and he is clearly the best 532 00:29:27,480 --> 00:29:31,680 Speaker 1: backup is not in my opinion watching um and so 533 00:29:32,400 --> 00:29:35,200 Speaker 1: congratulations kudos to him for, you know, putting the time in. 534 00:29:36,680 --> 00:29:41,960 Speaker 1: But anyone who watches the two of them on the field, 535 00:29:42,960 --> 00:29:46,560 Speaker 1: it's not I mean, Trevor Lawrence is just it's a 536 00:29:46,600 --> 00:29:50,640 Speaker 1: different dude. The guy has superior talent that no matter 537 00:29:50,720 --> 00:29:53,880 Speaker 1: how hard Gardners means you ever work. I mean, there's 538 00:29:53,920 --> 00:29:55,560 Speaker 1: certain things that Trevor Lawrence can just do with the 539 00:29:55,560 --> 00:29:58,560 Speaker 1: football that Gardner Ritsch you can't do. He'll pull him 540 00:29:58,560 --> 00:30:01,160 Speaker 1: out about three or four times five times of practice 541 00:30:01,200 --> 00:30:04,800 Speaker 1: Trevor will make a throw. You're like, Okay, that's different. 542 00:30:05,120 --> 00:30:12,400 Speaker 1: And he can teach it. And you watch the little things, 543 00:30:12,520 --> 00:30:17,520 Speaker 1: his footwork, his timing, his accuracy, I mean he is. 544 00:30:18,320 --> 00:30:21,200 Speaker 1: His athletic ability. The other thing that I've been impressed with. 545 00:30:21,560 --> 00:30:23,920 Speaker 1: How many times during training camp have you seen something 546 00:30:24,040 --> 00:30:28,800 Speaker 1: where um, there's a mechanical issue in the huddle at 547 00:30:28,840 --> 00:30:31,840 Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage, him looking confused, him not being 548 00:30:31,880 --> 00:30:35,280 Speaker 1: in charge. It doesn't happen now. The next the next 549 00:30:35,360 --> 00:30:39,280 Speaker 1: test is when the live rush comes against the Browns. 550 00:30:39,640 --> 00:30:42,640 Speaker 1: How does he do in the pocket? Everything looks so 551 00:30:42,840 --> 00:30:45,600 Speaker 1: far that I can't get hit. He is very comfortable. 552 00:30:45,640 --> 00:30:48,600 Speaker 1: He moves around. In college, he was very comfortable. I mean, 553 00:30:48,960 --> 00:30:51,520 Speaker 1: the guy is look special. Now he's gonna go do 554 00:30:51,600 --> 00:30:53,680 Speaker 1: it and there will be a learning curve, and yes 555 00:30:54,000 --> 00:30:55,960 Speaker 1: he'll have bad games, and yes he will throw it 556 00:30:56,000 --> 00:30:58,680 Speaker 1: to the wrong colored jersey because that's what young quarterbacks do. 557 00:30:59,360 --> 00:31:03,320 Speaker 1: But for everything I've seen Pete Early, he's special. Oh man, 558 00:31:03,400 --> 00:31:06,920 Speaker 1: he's specials for the next decade. Don't worry about the 559 00:31:07,000 --> 00:31:09,200 Speaker 1: quarterback position. Just do not worry about it. And by 560 00:31:09,240 --> 00:31:11,400 Speaker 1: the way, kudos to the Garden mitshow to fight through 561 00:31:11,480 --> 00:31:15,000 Speaker 1: and become the best backup quarterback on the team because 562 00:31:15,000 --> 00:31:16,480 Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't think. I didn't know if he'd 563 00:31:16,480 --> 00:31:18,360 Speaker 1: be on the roster. We talked about that last year. 564 00:31:18,680 --> 00:31:21,200 Speaker 1: And here's the other thing. If he is the backup quarterback, 565 00:31:21,560 --> 00:31:24,720 Speaker 1: it wasted a lot of money on C. J. Beetham. Yeah, 566 00:31:24,800 --> 00:31:27,120 Speaker 1: get a lot of guaranteed money in that deal. Let's 567 00:31:27,160 --> 00:31:28,840 Speaker 1: come back plenty ahead. He was discussing Caleb and Chase on 649 00:36:22,880 --> 00:36:26,480 Speaker 1: That was on Friday after practice, kind of you know, hey, 650 00:36:26,600 --> 00:36:28,960 Speaker 1: challenging him a good bit there with that sound bite, 651 00:36:29,000 --> 00:36:32,239 Speaker 1: and then Saturday, Tony Jason came out. I think had 652 00:36:32,280 --> 00:36:35,040 Speaker 1: his best practice of camp so far. Sack was all 653 00:36:35,080 --> 00:36:37,759 Speaker 1: over the ball pass defense at the line of scrimmage. 654 00:36:38,239 --> 00:36:39,880 Speaker 1: I don't know if he heard the sound bite, but 655 00:36:40,000 --> 00:36:41,680 Speaker 1: it was good to see him really step up and 656 00:36:41,719 --> 00:36:43,880 Speaker 1: step out. Yeah. I mean, I think the system that 657 00:36:44,040 --> 00:36:48,800 Speaker 1: Joe's putting in will help feature Cabalon Chason's ability. Calebon 658 00:36:49,040 --> 00:37:07,480 Speaker 1: Caleb on what I say, Valan, it's calev Caleb Caleb Exe. Um. Uh, 659 00:37:08,920 --> 00:37:13,000 Speaker 1: it's a better it's a better um system because it'll 660 00:37:13,040 --> 00:37:15,720 Speaker 1: put him in space more. I think he got swallowed 661 00:37:15,800 --> 00:37:17,960 Speaker 1: up last year and he didn't do a great job 662 00:37:18,000 --> 00:37:20,680 Speaker 1: with the transition from college to having his hand in 663 00:37:20,719 --> 00:37:23,360 Speaker 1: the ground every play as a defensive end for the Jaguars. 664 00:37:23,360 --> 00:37:25,320 Speaker 1: And I think in the three four he's in space, 665 00:37:25,400 --> 00:37:28,000 Speaker 1: he can move around a little bit, get matched up 666 00:37:28,000 --> 00:37:30,319 Speaker 1: with back sometimes, get matched up with a tight end 667 00:37:30,360 --> 00:37:32,840 Speaker 1: every once in a while, and rushed from a space 668 00:37:32,920 --> 00:37:35,040 Speaker 1: position against the tackle is gonna help him out quite 669 00:37:35,040 --> 00:37:37,160 Speaker 1: a bit because he is an athlete has God given ability. 670 00:37:37,200 --> 00:37:41,480 Speaker 1: As as Joe Colin had had mentioned, Um what I 671 00:37:41,880 --> 00:37:44,719 Speaker 1: I didn't see Saturday's practice. I wasn't here. Um what 672 00:37:45,000 --> 00:37:47,799 Speaker 1: I've seen in practice? What I've seen on tape. Um, 673 00:37:49,120 --> 00:37:53,080 Speaker 1: he is better, but still he gets overwhelmed a little bit. 674 00:37:53,600 --> 00:37:55,960 Speaker 1: Um he does. You know, he's a guy. He has 675 00:37:56,040 --> 00:37:59,200 Speaker 1: to use that speed and get get the get the 676 00:37:59,280 --> 00:38:01,880 Speaker 1: tackles hand awf him. If he gets engaged. He's just 677 00:38:01,960 --> 00:38:05,560 Speaker 1: not a big enough man to overcome it. So I 678 00:38:05,640 --> 00:38:07,359 Speaker 1: think what Joe said, his act right, it's a work 679 00:38:07,400 --> 00:38:10,359 Speaker 1: in progress, and uh, he's got to get better. They 680 00:38:10,840 --> 00:38:13,359 Speaker 1: need production at him this year. They need production at 681 00:38:13,440 --> 00:38:18,520 Speaker 1: Josh Allen as well. Um, you know watching him in camp. Nothing, 682 00:38:19,080 --> 00:38:20,880 Speaker 1: it's not like there's been a bunch of big flashes 683 00:38:21,360 --> 00:38:24,880 Speaker 1: I haven't seen at least um not early Saturday was 684 00:38:25,000 --> 00:38:28,000 Speaker 1: really the one for him. I'm talking about yea, yeah, 685 00:38:28,520 --> 00:38:30,359 Speaker 1: he looks in great shape. Oh, he looks in great shape. 686 00:38:30,360 --> 00:38:34,880 Speaker 1: Did how did I did't see Saturday but on Saturday? 687 00:38:35,640 --> 00:38:39,120 Speaker 1: And I mean nothing really nothing that you say, nothing 688 00:38:39,160 --> 00:38:42,839 Speaker 1: out of the ordinary. But he's really good. So that's great. 689 00:38:43,400 --> 00:38:49,920 Speaker 1: How many sacks for Well this year, because that's his 690 00:38:50,080 --> 00:38:54,279 Speaker 1: name from now on, How many sacks for cabal on 691 00:38:54,400 --> 00:38:59,799 Speaker 1: this year? Tony? Um No, I'd say six or seven. 692 00:39:00,400 --> 00:39:03,680 Speaker 1: So if they can get double digits out of Alan, 693 00:39:04,080 --> 00:39:05,880 Speaker 1: which they should. If you're picked where you're picked, you 694 00:39:05,920 --> 00:39:09,399 Speaker 1: should get that. That guy should get double digits five 695 00:39:09,520 --> 00:39:15,680 Speaker 1: for five or six for Cabalan. Um, it's Caleban, Calebon, 696 00:39:16,719 --> 00:39:20,719 Speaker 1: I know what it is, Calevan? You alright? Five or 697 00:39:20,800 --> 00:39:24,879 Speaker 1: six for Calevan? How many? Where else did they get? Gets? 698 00:39:24,880 --> 00:39:28,560 Speaker 1: You gotta get? They to have a good pass, right, 699 00:39:28,680 --> 00:39:32,319 Speaker 1: So are you gonna get interior? Roy Robertson Harris, Harris, 700 00:39:32,360 --> 00:39:34,839 Speaker 1: I think we'll give some production to you. How many 701 00:39:35,000 --> 00:39:37,680 Speaker 1: three or four? I think he has five or six? 702 00:39:37,760 --> 00:39:41,440 Speaker 1: I think Smoots another guy who's gonna I think you'll see, um, 703 00:39:42,000 --> 00:39:45,439 Speaker 1: you know, six to eight. I think John six plus 704 00:39:45,600 --> 00:39:50,080 Speaker 1: to four or five one six, stay twenty eight miles 705 00:39:50,160 --> 00:39:52,960 Speaker 1: Jack will get a couple of Blitzer baby five or six, right, 706 00:39:53,200 --> 00:39:58,000 Speaker 1: And don't forget about god Ward. He's another guy who's 707 00:39:58,120 --> 00:40:01,080 Speaker 1: you know, he's a you know, middle you know, middle 708 00:40:01,160 --> 00:40:03,800 Speaker 1: single digit guy. What I'm trying to point out is 709 00:40:03,840 --> 00:40:06,200 Speaker 1: to get the thirty five, Chason has to be better 710 00:40:06,280 --> 00:40:08,600 Speaker 1: and what you think he's gonna get, and Alan has 711 00:40:08,640 --> 00:40:10,319 Speaker 1: to be better than what I think he's gonna get. 712 00:40:10,480 --> 00:40:15,520 Speaker 1: What did you say you think all get ten? Yeah? Hey, 713 00:40:15,560 --> 00:40:17,200 Speaker 1: why did we're looking at smooth on the acount. Why 714 00:40:17,200 --> 00:40:19,520 Speaker 1: do you change his number? Wasn't ninety four before he 715 00:40:19,760 --> 00:40:23,320 Speaker 1: was and ninety one was open and when in Gockway 716 00:40:23,440 --> 00:40:25,840 Speaker 1: was no longer around, then he decided to finally change it. 717 00:40:26,239 --> 00:40:33,600 Speaker 1: Was it? Okay? That was curious? Um? Yeah, so um 718 00:40:33,880 --> 00:40:36,880 Speaker 1: switching gears. Yeah. By the way, we're sticking on defense 719 00:40:36,920 --> 00:40:39,399 Speaker 1: here and C. J. Henderson has been in the news 720 00:40:39,480 --> 00:40:42,040 Speaker 1: this week. Trade rumors are out there, some reports have 721 00:40:42,120 --> 00:40:44,239 Speaker 1: been out even this afternoon. The Times picking you to 722 00:40:44,320 --> 00:40:47,960 Speaker 1: New Orleans said that the Saints are looking at the 723 00:40:48,239 --> 00:40:51,719 Speaker 1: corners and including C. J. Henderson. That has been a 724 00:40:51,800 --> 00:40:55,000 Speaker 1: hot topic today Tony, Well, yeah, I mean if you 725 00:40:55,040 --> 00:40:58,520 Speaker 1: look at from the beginning, you know, if C. J. 726 00:40:58,600 --> 00:41:00,480 Speaker 1: Henderson be in the first round pick last year, he 727 00:41:00,760 --> 00:41:03,239 Speaker 1: you know, came out. There was some comments during camp 728 00:41:03,400 --> 00:41:06,960 Speaker 1: and you know, I mean pre camping sorry draft day. 729 00:41:06,960 --> 00:41:09,640 Speaker 1: If I go back to is like about his interest 730 00:41:09,680 --> 00:41:12,279 Speaker 1: to being a Jaguar. That quickly went away, quickly put 731 00:41:12,360 --> 00:41:15,000 Speaker 1: that to bed. No big deal came out of camp. 732 00:41:15,320 --> 00:41:18,279 Speaker 1: You know, maybe some Nixon you know, injuries during camp. 733 00:41:18,320 --> 00:41:22,200 Speaker 1: But then Opening day last year was like a superstar 734 00:41:23,120 --> 00:41:25,319 Speaker 1: great game, had an interception off Rivers. Yeah, I mean 735 00:41:25,480 --> 00:41:28,480 Speaker 1: just looked fabulous and and then was up and down 736 00:41:28,520 --> 00:41:30,560 Speaker 1: to like a lot of rookies. But then the injuries 737 00:41:30,920 --> 00:41:33,080 Speaker 1: started coming and then you just started hearing stuff just 738 00:41:33,320 --> 00:41:35,759 Speaker 1: like and it was just and the next thing you know, 739 00:41:35,840 --> 00:41:39,040 Speaker 1: he's in I are Um, he had a shoulder issue 740 00:41:39,080 --> 00:41:42,880 Speaker 1: that a lots of different stuff, and so you started 741 00:41:43,239 --> 00:41:48,080 Speaker 1: instantly worrying about the availability. Um. And then this offseason, 742 00:41:48,960 --> 00:41:50,320 Speaker 1: you know, you didn't hear a lot about it, but 743 00:41:50,360 --> 00:41:52,719 Speaker 1: you heard, you know, is there injuries? And then he 744 00:41:52,840 --> 00:41:55,360 Speaker 1: starts off camp, you know, on the COVID list, and 745 00:41:55,400 --> 00:41:59,520 Speaker 1: then he finally shows up and then he's one practice 746 00:41:59,800 --> 00:42:02,520 Speaker 1: in then he's gone again. And so there's just all 747 00:42:02,600 --> 00:42:05,000 Speaker 1: these different things swirling. And immediately you hear about these 748 00:42:05,040 --> 00:42:09,120 Speaker 1: trade rumors and so you know, not where you want 749 00:42:09,120 --> 00:42:11,439 Speaker 1: to be with the guy you picked in the top 750 00:42:11,520 --> 00:42:15,719 Speaker 1: ten to come to all of your corner issue and um, 751 00:42:16,719 --> 00:42:18,719 Speaker 1: but this is where we are and this is we'll 752 00:42:18,719 --> 00:42:21,000 Speaker 1: see where it goes. I mean, the rumors are out there. 753 00:42:21,680 --> 00:42:24,840 Speaker 1: You hear about him. Um, You'll tell you what I 754 00:42:24,960 --> 00:42:27,800 Speaker 1: was just in New Orleans. They're looking for a corner 755 00:42:28,600 --> 00:42:31,759 Speaker 1: and you know there's you know, there's people regardless of 756 00:42:31,880 --> 00:42:34,800 Speaker 1: what has happened here and all the different rumors and 757 00:42:34,960 --> 00:42:38,160 Speaker 1: nonsense and whatever whatever is sure or not, who knows. Um, 758 00:42:38,360 --> 00:42:40,840 Speaker 1: you just know that the rumors are about trade. You know, 759 00:42:40,960 --> 00:42:43,359 Speaker 1: he's been at one practice and it's been a little bit. 760 00:42:43,880 --> 00:42:47,839 Speaker 1: You know he's not been available, but you but there's 761 00:42:47,840 --> 00:42:50,920 Speaker 1: a he was a he was a top corner prospect 762 00:42:51,040 --> 00:42:53,160 Speaker 1: just a year ago. And you know that a bunch 763 00:42:53,200 --> 00:42:56,000 Speaker 1: of other teams had them high on their board. So, um, 764 00:42:56,880 --> 00:42:59,560 Speaker 1: now will they get the value that a top as 765 00:42:59,560 --> 00:43:02,040 Speaker 1: a top warner. No, but they'll get something. They'll be 766 00:43:02,120 --> 00:43:04,320 Speaker 1: a team out there interested because they will feel like 767 00:43:04,719 --> 00:43:07,279 Speaker 1: and they will remember the evaluation they did of him 768 00:43:07,320 --> 00:43:11,600 Speaker 1: as a Gator and say, hey, whatever happened at Jacksonville happened, 769 00:43:11,719 --> 00:43:14,239 Speaker 1: we can fix it. We can get the most out 770 00:43:14,280 --> 00:43:16,480 Speaker 1: of him. Let's go take a chance. And he's got 771 00:43:16,520 --> 00:43:21,640 Speaker 1: a relatively cheap contract. That's right. If you're like you're 772 00:43:21,719 --> 00:43:24,920 Speaker 1: the Saint, You've got a bunch of money in Marshawn Lattimore, 773 00:43:25,719 --> 00:43:28,440 Speaker 1: who might get suspended by the way, and your other 774 00:43:28,560 --> 00:43:34,320 Speaker 1: corners draft for what for he got arrested for he 775 00:43:34,400 --> 00:43:37,440 Speaker 1: had a gun charge, a legal firearm or whatever. So 776 00:43:37,719 --> 00:43:41,000 Speaker 1: there's a chance he gets suspended and then you have 777 00:43:41,719 --> 00:43:44,480 Speaker 1: the kids you drafted out of Stanford a debot and 778 00:43:44,600 --> 00:43:47,319 Speaker 1: you have Patrick Robinson and guys like that. I mean, 779 00:43:47,400 --> 00:43:50,080 Speaker 1: these guys are add twenty years old. They need a quarner, 780 00:43:50,200 --> 00:43:52,360 Speaker 1: and I was told they're going to get a corner. 781 00:43:52,719 --> 00:43:54,840 Speaker 1: Henderson would make a lot of sense to the Saints. 782 00:43:55,440 --> 00:43:59,440 Speaker 1: It's a cheap court. But again, when you start talking 783 00:43:59,440 --> 00:44:03,320 Speaker 1: about play yours, why isn't he on? The availability is 784 00:44:03,360 --> 00:44:06,440 Speaker 1: the only ability that truly matters, and he hasn't been available, 785 00:44:06,680 --> 00:44:11,120 Speaker 1: and that's the big concern. It's availability issue. Um, And 786 00:44:12,600 --> 00:44:18,600 Speaker 1: you can't control COVID. That's that's no, you can't cod 787 00:44:20,160 --> 00:44:22,080 Speaker 1: that's how. That's how the that's how the young man's 788 00:44:22,920 --> 00:44:25,040 Speaker 1: The question is does he love it well? I mean, 789 00:44:25,120 --> 00:44:27,680 Speaker 1: that's the question. I mean, and that's always a question question. 790 00:44:27,719 --> 00:44:30,160 Speaker 1: When he came out of college in Florida, the scouts 791 00:44:30,200 --> 00:44:32,359 Speaker 1: all when you talk to the scouts, the personnel people, 792 00:44:32,400 --> 00:44:34,399 Speaker 1: they asked that same question, does he love it? Will 793 00:44:34,440 --> 00:44:36,480 Speaker 1: he will? Will you get to the NFL game and 794 00:44:36,600 --> 00:44:40,279 Speaker 1: love it? It's something that you have to I mean, 795 00:44:40,600 --> 00:44:43,080 Speaker 1: it's one of the evaluations. It's part of the evaluation process. 796 00:44:43,120 --> 00:44:45,040 Speaker 1: Anytime you pick a guy you know, there's a lot 797 00:44:45,080 --> 00:44:48,160 Speaker 1: of talented guys. I mean, and set aside C. J. 798 00:44:48,239 --> 00:44:50,600 Speaker 1: Henderson for a second, there's a ton of talented guys 799 00:44:51,000 --> 00:44:54,520 Speaker 1: in college that are just great because they're great athletes, 800 00:44:54,719 --> 00:44:58,640 Speaker 1: but they don't truly love ball. And you better love 801 00:44:58,760 --> 00:45:01,920 Speaker 1: football if you're gonna, you know, if you're gonna have 802 00:45:02,160 --> 00:45:05,680 Speaker 1: long term success, and and and you want a guy, 803 00:45:05,800 --> 00:45:08,280 Speaker 1: you want a locker room full of guys who love ball. 804 00:45:08,760 --> 00:45:11,520 Speaker 1: They just love football. It's a hard game and if 805 00:45:11,560 --> 00:45:14,440 Speaker 1: you don't love it, it's really really hard. But what 806 00:45:14,560 --> 00:45:16,600 Speaker 1: do you think they get back for Like the Saints 807 00:45:16,680 --> 00:45:18,480 Speaker 1: make it, call him up and say, hey, we'd love 808 00:45:18,520 --> 00:45:20,320 Speaker 1: to have that was our starting corner. What do you 809 00:45:20,360 --> 00:45:22,440 Speaker 1: get back for him? I heard they have di scrambled 810 00:45:22,480 --> 00:45:27,640 Speaker 1: wide receiver right hearing stories about there. You don't want 811 00:45:27,719 --> 00:45:30,920 Speaker 1: him or either Yeah, yeah, you're not getting Michael Thomas. 812 00:45:31,000 --> 00:45:33,279 Speaker 1: I don't think you don't want to be here anyways. Yeah, 813 00:45:33,400 --> 00:45:35,040 Speaker 1: I mean, because there's a lot of noise around him. 814 00:45:35,040 --> 00:45:37,520 Speaker 1: Pat to your point, Oh my gosh, you don't want 815 00:45:37,560 --> 00:45:40,000 Speaker 1: him around there. That's not what this young team needs. 816 00:45:40,120 --> 00:45:42,560 Speaker 1: That's not what that young quarterback needs. They don't know, 817 00:45:42,960 --> 00:45:46,400 Speaker 1: you don't want you don't want that, and so, um, 818 00:45:46,760 --> 00:45:50,759 Speaker 1: so what do you get back third or fourth? Well, 819 00:45:50,800 --> 00:45:53,960 Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. I'd be apprehensive to trade him 820 00:45:54,000 --> 00:45:58,359 Speaker 1: for a three or four totally was gone with him 821 00:45:58,760 --> 00:46:01,279 Speaker 1: when it's not fixed bolt, which I don't think that's 822 00:46:01,320 --> 00:46:04,160 Speaker 1: the case. I wouldn't trade him for anything less than two. 823 00:46:05,120 --> 00:46:07,680 Speaker 1: Are you thinking? I mean, Pete, but you, I mean, 824 00:46:07,760 --> 00:46:10,480 Speaker 1: you know this as well as I do. If it 825 00:46:10,640 --> 00:46:13,320 Speaker 1: just depends how much smoke is out there, you know, 826 00:46:13,600 --> 00:46:15,360 Speaker 1: and we don't hear everything I mean, and half the 827 00:46:15,400 --> 00:46:20,000 Speaker 1: stuff you hear is well, then yeah, then I I 828 00:46:20,040 --> 00:46:22,920 Speaker 1: would agree with you, But you have to I think 829 00:46:23,200 --> 00:46:27,200 Speaker 1: if you're building something here, you have to make the decision. 830 00:46:27,400 --> 00:46:29,120 Speaker 1: And again I'll go back to you want a bunch 831 00:46:29,160 --> 00:46:31,120 Speaker 1: of guys out locker room that love football, And I 832 00:46:31,160 --> 00:46:33,600 Speaker 1: don't know CJ. Henderson's I'm not gonna make an evaluation. 833 00:46:33,680 --> 00:46:36,200 Speaker 1: I don't know you heard the Pete's point. You heard 834 00:46:36,200 --> 00:46:37,960 Speaker 1: stuff coming out of college last year. It's a long 835 00:46:38,000 --> 00:46:41,560 Speaker 1: time ago. But Urban and the coaching staff they've been 836 00:46:41,560 --> 00:46:45,120 Speaker 1: around him now and Trent Balky. Part of the evaluation 837 00:46:46,080 --> 00:46:48,279 Speaker 1: is Okay, number one, what do you want to get 838 00:46:48,320 --> 00:46:50,279 Speaker 1: for him? And if it's A two and you can't 839 00:46:50,320 --> 00:46:53,840 Speaker 1: get it too well, then if you keep them is 840 00:46:54,640 --> 00:46:56,760 Speaker 1: is he gonna be available? Are we gonna get production 841 00:46:56,800 --> 00:46:58,440 Speaker 1: out of him? And does he want does he love it? 842 00:46:58,640 --> 00:47:01,479 Speaker 1: I don't know that. I can't of those questions. See, 843 00:47:01,560 --> 00:47:03,120 Speaker 1: and I don't think this is I don't think this 844 00:47:03,239 --> 00:47:06,480 Speaker 1: is a case where Jalen didn't want to be in Jacksonville. 845 00:47:06,600 --> 00:47:08,839 Speaker 1: I don't think that's the case at all. That that's 846 00:47:08,840 --> 00:47:11,280 Speaker 1: not the issue. It's not this staff or this regime 847 00:47:11,400 --> 00:47:13,279 Speaker 1: or anything like that. That's at least that's what I 848 00:47:13,480 --> 00:47:16,640 Speaker 1: So it's just a matter of get him on the field. 849 00:47:16,920 --> 00:47:20,200 Speaker 1: And if I'm urban Meyer and Gang, I'd like to 850 00:47:20,280 --> 00:47:24,040 Speaker 1: have him on my team. But if somebody, if they 851 00:47:24,160 --> 00:47:28,560 Speaker 1: clearly it's been leaked out there that he's available, and 852 00:47:28,719 --> 00:47:31,799 Speaker 1: teams know that, how do you amend that fence? Now? 853 00:47:32,440 --> 00:47:34,439 Speaker 1: If you do, you know, if that gets out, that's 854 00:47:34,480 --> 00:47:41,319 Speaker 1: out and just by just you know, um, it's pretty 855 00:47:41,360 --> 00:47:46,319 Speaker 1: obvious that if you're top ten pick after just one 856 00:47:46,400 --> 00:47:49,759 Speaker 1: year and a partial year because he was injured, is 857 00:47:49,800 --> 00:47:52,879 Speaker 1: all of a sudden available after one practicing for one 858 00:47:53,000 --> 00:47:58,919 Speaker 1: day with you? C. J. 931 00:52:40,680 --> 00:52:43,440 Speaker 1: Henderson has been in the news. We'll get your social 932 00:52:43,560 --> 00:52:46,640 Speaker 1: questions coming up in the second hour. Pete, what are 933 00:52:46,680 --> 00:52:50,120 Speaker 1: your memories of Bobby Bowden? Did you ever deal with him? 934 00:52:50,200 --> 00:52:52,799 Speaker 1: Much in the old days. Yes I did not, I mean, 935 00:52:52,880 --> 00:52:59,080 Speaker 1: not a ton, but always gracious, always accommodating. And I'm 936 00:52:59,120 --> 00:53:00,839 Speaker 1: gonna tell a story. We were when I was at 937 00:53:01,120 --> 00:53:04,960 Speaker 1: the Times Union, we investigated their program. We did a 938 00:53:05,040 --> 00:53:09,879 Speaker 1: thorough investigation of cheating allegations, and I was a part 939 00:53:09,920 --> 00:53:14,160 Speaker 1: of that, and I we actually got the story, and 940 00:53:14,280 --> 00:53:17,800 Speaker 1: I had to do the confrontational interview with Bobby. The 941 00:53:17,880 --> 00:53:19,920 Speaker 1: story never ran by the way for whatever reason, but 942 00:53:20,000 --> 00:53:23,360 Speaker 1: it was. I did the confrontational interview with Bobby, and 943 00:53:23,480 --> 00:53:25,719 Speaker 1: I figured most coaches would scream and yell at you, 944 00:53:26,880 --> 00:53:32,440 Speaker 1: not him. He was. He was classy, very easy to 945 00:53:32,560 --> 00:53:35,719 Speaker 1: deal with, and I always respected him because of that. 946 00:53:35,960 --> 00:53:37,600 Speaker 1: And and plus I know a lot of guys who 947 00:53:37,680 --> 00:53:40,239 Speaker 1: played for him and when they played for him, like 948 00:53:40,440 --> 00:53:43,879 Speaker 1: Leroy Butler. You know Leroy Butler and Edgar Bennett, guys 949 00:53:43,880 --> 00:53:46,000 Speaker 1: I've known for a long time. They just love the guy. 950 00:53:46,160 --> 00:53:49,920 Speaker 1: So I always had, you know, this idea that he 951 00:53:50,160 --> 00:53:53,279 Speaker 1: was a different kind of coach, maybe more so, a 952 00:53:53,320 --> 00:53:56,239 Speaker 1: little more folksy, a little more down home, and really 953 00:53:56,560 --> 00:53:59,279 Speaker 1: had a great relationship with his players. How difficult was 954 00:53:59,400 --> 00:54:02,600 Speaker 1: that kind stational interview, The idea of having to go 955 00:54:03,160 --> 00:54:07,160 Speaker 1: confront him. Well, for some it was it was actually 956 00:54:07,239 --> 00:54:09,400 Speaker 1: done on the phone, but but for some coaches, no 957 00:54:09,480 --> 00:54:11,200 Speaker 1: matter where it's done, it would have been bad. And 958 00:54:11,640 --> 00:54:14,080 Speaker 1: he wasn't that way. I mean, you know, we had 959 00:54:14,080 --> 00:54:17,279 Speaker 1: a story. It was allegations of the program cheating, and 960 00:54:17,400 --> 00:54:21,200 Speaker 1: it never ran. But it was a good story. It 961 00:54:21,320 --> 00:54:24,400 Speaker 1: was well researched and for whatever reason something happened it 962 00:54:24,400 --> 00:54:27,560 Speaker 1: didn't run. But um, it could have been ugly and 963 00:54:27,640 --> 00:54:30,239 Speaker 1: it wasn't. And I respected him for that. I mean, 964 00:54:30,880 --> 00:54:32,480 Speaker 1: and the times I went over there. I mean one 965 00:54:32,520 --> 00:54:34,560 Speaker 1: time we were driving through This isn't nothing to do 966 00:54:34,600 --> 00:54:36,160 Speaker 1: with him, but we were driving through the parking lot, 967 00:54:36,239 --> 00:54:39,360 Speaker 1: looking right down license plate numbers and the player parking 968 00:54:39,440 --> 00:54:42,520 Speaker 1: lot and they chased us away. And then that's the 969 00:54:42,600 --> 00:54:45,560 Speaker 1: kind of investigation it was. And and he, you know, 970 00:54:45,640 --> 00:54:47,320 Speaker 1: could have been angry about it. He was He was 971 00:54:47,400 --> 00:54:51,239 Speaker 1: always he was always easy going as a coach and 972 00:54:51,440 --> 00:54:53,160 Speaker 1: and even with the media. And I think that's why 973 00:54:53,239 --> 00:54:57,080 Speaker 1: the media liked him so much. But you, Tony, have 974 00:54:57,120 --> 00:55:03,399 Speaker 1: you ever interact with fame stuff college? And uh, maybe 975 00:55:03,440 --> 00:55:05,560 Speaker 1: not at all. I'm trying to think of covering games. 976 00:55:05,880 --> 00:55:07,960 Speaker 1: Did some college games Florida State when he was there, 977 00:55:08,680 --> 00:55:11,880 Speaker 1: did his last game at the Gator Bowl. Um. But 978 00:55:12,000 --> 00:55:14,360 Speaker 1: have a lot of friends who played for him and 979 00:55:14,600 --> 00:55:19,600 Speaker 1: new guys who played for him, and and everything you hear, UM, 980 00:55:20,560 --> 00:55:24,080 Speaker 1: great coach, better person. And if you just look at 981 00:55:24,280 --> 00:55:27,040 Speaker 1: the life he's lived, I think Urban said the best. 982 00:55:27,120 --> 00:55:30,400 Speaker 1: I mean, what a life, What an example um that 983 00:55:30,480 --> 00:55:32,760 Speaker 1: he set for so many individuals, And what an impact 984 00:55:32,800 --> 00:55:35,839 Speaker 1: he made at Florida State. And you know building a program. Yes, 985 00:55:35,960 --> 00:55:39,440 Speaker 1: on the field, but also I've never heard one person 986 00:55:39,560 --> 00:55:42,680 Speaker 1: say anything negative about Bobby Abouten And that's that's tough. 987 00:55:42,840 --> 00:55:45,439 Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you find you talked enough people, 988 00:55:45,480 --> 00:55:48,480 Speaker 1: you can find somebody who doesn't like a person. But 989 00:55:49,440 --> 00:55:51,239 Speaker 1: you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't like 990 00:55:51,280 --> 00:55:56,080 Speaker 1: Bobby Bouten and built the program from from it was 991 00:55:56,160 --> 00:56:00,920 Speaker 1: a disaster scratch. Basically. The best way he did it 992 00:56:01,000 --> 00:56:03,239 Speaker 1: was he went and played other people. Remember they used 993 00:56:03,280 --> 00:56:04,840 Speaker 1: to go play and get the side games. They go 994 00:56:05,160 --> 00:56:07,640 Speaker 1: grass that they cut after they beat upset teams on 995 00:56:07,719 --> 00:56:09,600 Speaker 1: the road. They'd cut out the grass and bring it home. 996 00:56:09,840 --> 00:56:13,000 Speaker 1: They still have it, by the way, Nothing but respect 997 00:56:13,080 --> 00:56:16,560 Speaker 1: for what he did at Florida's day. Putting ahead on 998 00:56:16,800 --> 00:56:21,080 Speaker 1: the second hour of Jaguars Happy Hour Trevor Lawrence, C. J. J P. 1063 01:00:17,160 --> 01:00:20,840 Speaker 1: Shadrick Pete Frisco, CBS Sports Senior writer and pride of 1064 01:00:20,840 --> 01:00:23,840 Speaker 1: the Jaguars left tackle Tony Boselli. Glad you're along with us, 1065 01:00:23,840 --> 01:00:29,320 Speaker 1: says the Jaguars continued training camp. Players off today, back 1066 01:00:29,400 --> 01:00:33,400 Speaker 1: on the practice field Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then they'll 1067 01:00:33,440 --> 01:00:36,440 Speaker 1: host the Cleveland Browns in preseason Week one, Saturday night, 1068 01:00:36,480 --> 01:00:39,760 Speaker 1: seven o'clock at t I A A. Bank Field. I 1069 01:00:39,840 --> 01:00:42,560 Speaker 1: can't believe it's here already. This is our first Monday 1070 01:00:42,760 --> 01:00:47,040 Speaker 1: Happy Hour program since January four, we're back and we'll 1071 01:00:47,080 --> 01:00:50,960 Speaker 1: be here pretty much every Monday until the day after 1072 01:00:51,040 --> 01:00:53,360 Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, Pete. If the Jaguars go that far, 1073 01:00:53,440 --> 01:00:57,760 Speaker 1: how about it? And uh, if Tony goes to England 1074 01:00:57,840 --> 01:00:59,760 Speaker 1: and can't do the show, that'll be our highest rated 1075 01:00:59,800 --> 01:01:03,560 Speaker 1: show that Monday, like it always is the tradition. Unlike 1076 01:01:03,560 --> 01:01:07,040 Speaker 1: an is there any word on the ticket sales are 1077 01:01:07,080 --> 01:01:11,200 Speaker 1: beginning in phases in the UK, and I think they're 1078 01:01:11,240 --> 01:01:15,360 Speaker 1: gonna sell until otherwise, you know, if if I don't know, 1079 01:01:15,560 --> 01:01:18,080 Speaker 1: if there's a drop dead date where they have to say, hey, 1080 01:01:18,160 --> 01:01:19,920 Speaker 1: it's not gonna happen, or it is gonna happen. But 1081 01:01:20,320 --> 01:01:23,000 Speaker 1: ticket sales are beginning in phases in the UK for 1082 01:01:23,080 --> 01:01:25,640 Speaker 1: those games. So that means that we will have our 1083 01:01:25,760 --> 01:01:29,360 Speaker 1: Tony less show that Monday after the game, the highest 1084 01:01:29,440 --> 01:01:31,520 Speaker 1: rate every year since we've been doing this show, it's 1085 01:01:31,520 --> 01:01:34,520 Speaker 1: the highest rated show going through the roof. Yeah, we'll 1086 01:01:34,520 --> 01:01:41,360 Speaker 1: see about that. The numbers don't lie. Oh, the people 1087 01:01:41,400 --> 01:01:42,760 Speaker 1: say they love it, Pete. I mean I get a 1088 01:01:42,800 --> 01:01:44,320 Speaker 1: lot of people who come to me and say that 1089 01:01:44,440 --> 01:01:49,080 Speaker 1: show is magic radio. I mean, it's incredible to listen to. 1090 01:01:49,280 --> 01:01:51,640 Speaker 1: Let's test it. You guysn't do the last hour by yourself. 1091 01:01:53,880 --> 01:01:56,960 Speaker 1: He's always looking for a starting with a bang, Pete, 1092 01:01:57,120 --> 01:02:01,480 Speaker 1: you count me out, pete seconds next period j P. 1093 01:02:01,800 --> 01:02:05,919 Speaker 1: Tony leaves Tony get ready, walk out, walk out, walk out. 1094 01:02:07,440 --> 01:02:08,800 Speaker 1: You're gonna have to carry it more and make sure 1095 01:02:08,800 --> 01:02:11,320 Speaker 1: your water get the water. I love it. I did, 1096 01:02:11,480 --> 01:02:14,640 Speaker 1: miss um. I al was enjoyed that lending game. I 1097 01:02:14,680 --> 01:02:17,240 Speaker 1: mean I know very few people probably did. I mean 1098 01:02:17,280 --> 01:02:19,240 Speaker 1: I don't know who did or did not. It was 1099 01:02:19,240 --> 01:02:22,680 Speaker 1: always fun. Did you enjoy it over there? Yeah? I 1100 01:02:23,320 --> 01:02:26,240 Speaker 1: personally Jeff, I mean, I mean not Joe. How do 1101 01:02:26,280 --> 01:02:27,920 Speaker 1: you feel about it? I mean, it's a lot of 1102 01:02:28,000 --> 01:02:29,880 Speaker 1: work for you, technical guy, I was gonna say, I 1103 01:02:29,920 --> 01:02:32,479 Speaker 1: mean it is, you know, for guys like Tony Pete. 1104 01:02:32,520 --> 01:02:34,160 Speaker 1: For guys like Tony, he gets to do all the 1105 01:02:34,200 --> 01:02:42,640 Speaker 1: big fancy parties and all these things. You go every year, don't know 1108 01:02:48,040 --> 01:02:50,000 Speaker 1: you don't go? I have been every year. Yes, I've 1109 01:02:50,040 --> 01:02:52,200 Speaker 1: been very Fortunately what you have to come home early 1110 01:02:52,320 --> 01:02:54,000 Speaker 1: and he gets to stay, which is right. When you 1111 01:02:54,080 --> 01:02:56,880 Speaker 1: come back, you do the show. Tony has like other duties. 1112 01:02:56,960 --> 01:02:58,520 Speaker 1: I guess, so I come back and I'm on the 1113 01:02:58,560 --> 01:03:01,000 Speaker 1: air Monday here in this student. You know, after flying 1114 01:03:01,040 --> 01:03:05,200 Speaker 1: back with the team, I have sponsorship responsibilities that might 1115 01:03:05,240 --> 01:03:07,920 Speaker 1: not be the case, might not be the case. Too 1116 01:03:07,960 --> 01:03:10,040 Speaker 1: early to tell. Yeah, I mean i've even heard you 1117 01:03:10,120 --> 01:03:18,680 Speaker 1: know what the plan is. But ye keep the tradition going. 1118 01:03:19,200 --> 01:03:22,160 Speaker 1: Love it. The Jaguars are in the stadium Sunday. They're 1119 01:03:22,200 --> 01:03:24,360 Speaker 1: off today. As we said, back on the practice field. 1120 01:03:24,360 --> 01:03:26,720 Speaker 1: The rest of the way, no more open practices to fans. 1121 01:03:26,800 --> 01:03:28,840 Speaker 1: Sunday was the last chance to see the Jacks for 1122 01:03:28,960 --> 01:03:32,560 Speaker 1: free in this offseason program. C J. Henderson has been 1123 01:03:32,560 --> 01:03:35,320 Speaker 1: in the news today. Well, the trade rumors have been 1124 01:03:35,360 --> 01:03:38,480 Speaker 1: out there, at least in this afternoon. The New Orleans 1125 01:03:38,560 --> 01:03:42,400 Speaker 1: Times picking a newspaper reporting that the Saints are looking 1126 01:03:42,440 --> 01:03:46,160 Speaker 1: for a corner, including looking at c J. Henderson. There 1127 01:03:46,200 --> 01:03:48,600 Speaker 1: are those trade rumors. That's not the only one that's 1128 01:03:48,600 --> 01:03:50,760 Speaker 1: been out there today, Tony, but that's been the big 1129 01:03:50,840 --> 01:03:54,280 Speaker 1: topic of discussion. And Pete, you think we talked about 1130 01:03:54,320 --> 01:03:56,000 Speaker 1: this in the first hour. You think they they should 1131 01:03:56,000 --> 01:03:57,440 Speaker 1: try to get a second round or you think they 1132 01:03:57,480 --> 01:04:02,320 Speaker 1: can get a second rounder for CJ. Uh Yeah, maybe, 1133 01:04:02,520 --> 01:04:04,520 Speaker 1: I mean he is was the ninth overall picked people 1134 01:04:04,560 --> 01:04:07,280 Speaker 1: had first or high first round raids on them, So yeah, 1135 01:04:07,280 --> 01:04:09,920 Speaker 1: I think there's a possibility. No, I listen, from a 1136 01:04:10,000 --> 01:04:12,560 Speaker 1: talent standpoint, there's no doubt about it. We saw firsthand 1137 01:04:12,600 --> 01:04:16,640 Speaker 1: that dude can play football when he's on the first round. No, 1138 01:04:16,720 --> 01:04:19,080 Speaker 1: I know that, But my point is he can play. 1139 01:04:19,160 --> 01:04:24,280 Speaker 1: The question is you know availability, which we addressed, and 1140 01:04:24,360 --> 01:04:27,920 Speaker 1: if I was opposing team, my first question is, Okay, 1141 01:04:28,000 --> 01:04:33,280 Speaker 1: why are you trading him after one year? Right? I mean, 1142 01:04:33,320 --> 01:04:37,520 Speaker 1: wouldn't you That's a legitimate question. Yeah. By the way, 1143 01:04:37,880 --> 01:04:40,720 Speaker 1: if it's even true, the Jaguars have not confirmed they're 1144 01:04:40,720 --> 01:04:44,200 Speaker 1: trading them. There's nothing out there. It's a report, you 1145 01:04:44,280 --> 01:04:48,040 Speaker 1: know on several outlets are saying that they're that they're 1146 01:04:48,440 --> 01:04:51,360 Speaker 1: it's open for business as far as having conversations about 1147 01:04:51,360 --> 01:04:54,880 Speaker 1: trading for CJ. Henderson, But to be clear, the Jaguars 1148 01:04:54,920 --> 01:04:58,520 Speaker 1: have not confirmed that that is the case. Again, I 1149 01:04:58,600 --> 01:05:01,840 Speaker 1: go back to the Saints. For the Saints a cheap 1150 01:05:02,000 --> 01:05:04,240 Speaker 1: corner and that's what he is right now. Makes a 1151 01:05:04,320 --> 01:05:07,240 Speaker 1: lot of sense for a cornerback needy team. For example, 1152 01:05:07,440 --> 01:05:09,520 Speaker 1: if they were in the market, the trade for Xavian 1153 01:05:09,560 --> 01:05:12,280 Speaker 1: Howard before he got his deal restructured, that would have 1154 01:05:12,360 --> 01:05:14,760 Speaker 1: been to twenty million dollar corners. You can't do that, 1155 01:05:15,480 --> 01:05:17,120 Speaker 1: but you can do it with c J. Henderson because 1156 01:05:17,120 --> 01:05:21,000 Speaker 1: this deal is finals financially, uh good for the team. 1157 01:05:21,120 --> 01:05:23,280 Speaker 1: So I think it's possible that the Saints could make 1158 01:05:23,320 --> 01:05:25,800 Speaker 1: that deal if they wanted. So the Jaguars spent a 1159 01:05:25,880 --> 01:05:29,600 Speaker 1: lot of actual cash and then draft equity at the 1160 01:05:29,640 --> 01:05:33,480 Speaker 1: cornerback position this offseason. Shatt Griffin came over in free agency, 1161 01:05:33,680 --> 01:05:37,360 Speaker 1: big deal of course, from the Seahawks, and then in 1162 01:05:37,440 --> 01:05:40,920 Speaker 1: the draft Tyson Campbell second round draft pick. If for 1163 01:05:41,080 --> 01:05:44,880 Speaker 1: some reason c J. Henderson is no longer on this roster, 1164 01:05:45,520 --> 01:05:48,600 Speaker 1: are the Jags okay at cornerback? Do they feel like 1165 01:05:48,640 --> 01:05:50,560 Speaker 1: they have to go get somebody else at some point 1166 01:05:50,640 --> 01:05:53,640 Speaker 1: that can actually go play and play right away? Um, 1167 01:05:55,360 --> 01:05:58,360 Speaker 1: let's go through it. I mean Sidney Jones, you know again, 1168 01:05:59,360 --> 01:06:02,080 Speaker 1: Nick dupple throughout his career, but when he was healthy 1169 01:06:02,160 --> 01:06:05,400 Speaker 1: last year, he looked he played good corner outside corner, 1170 01:06:05,600 --> 01:06:08,880 Speaker 1: was a good player. Trey Herndon more of a nickel 1171 01:06:09,040 --> 01:06:11,160 Speaker 1: or a backup outside guy I think was We're I mean, 1172 01:06:11,240 --> 01:06:15,919 Speaker 1: but he started outside and was a productive guy. But yeah, 1173 01:06:16,040 --> 01:06:18,280 Speaker 1: that's why I said he moved to Nickel. Um, I've 1174 01:06:18,320 --> 01:06:20,600 Speaker 1: been super impressed what I've seen from Tyson Campbell. He 1175 01:06:20,640 --> 01:06:23,280 Speaker 1: seems to be around the ball, good cover, guy, has length, 1176 01:06:23,560 --> 01:06:27,840 Speaker 1: he was good yesterday. Good size. Um. And so you 1177 01:06:27,880 --> 01:06:29,600 Speaker 1: know you drafted him the top of the second round 1178 01:06:29,640 --> 01:06:32,720 Speaker 1: for a reason. It's almost like another first rounder. Um. 1179 01:06:35,000 --> 01:06:39,080 Speaker 1: So I mean I think you could piece it together. Yeah, 1180 01:06:39,280 --> 01:06:41,560 Speaker 1: you can piece it together, but it hurts because you're 1181 01:06:41,640 --> 01:06:43,440 Speaker 1: counting on you got. You draft the guy in the 1182 01:06:43,480 --> 01:06:46,200 Speaker 1: top ten because you think he's a starter. Well, how 1183 01:06:46,280 --> 01:06:50,360 Speaker 1: do you play it? If Henderson's there? Henderson, Griffin and 1184 01:06:51,000 --> 01:06:55,800 Speaker 1: Campbell's camp So if if he's not there, then it 1185 01:06:55,880 --> 01:06:59,919 Speaker 1: becomes what Griffin, Jones and Campbell's and Nickel or Griff 1186 01:07:00,040 --> 01:07:04,840 Speaker 1: and Campbell outside and heard, Yeah, some combination of the such. 1187 01:07:06,800 --> 01:07:09,000 Speaker 1: Where do you think Campbell is more comfortable playing? I 1188 01:07:09,040 --> 01:07:14,000 Speaker 1: think he's an outside corner. Um. Yeah, that's I don't know, Pete. 1189 01:07:14,080 --> 01:07:16,160 Speaker 1: I have not to be honestly, It's not like I've 1190 01:07:16,200 --> 01:07:18,440 Speaker 1: watched every play to see where he's been lining up, 1191 01:07:18,680 --> 01:07:20,520 Speaker 1: and I've not talked to I haven't heard from any 1192 01:07:20,520 --> 01:07:22,920 Speaker 1: of the coaches. I don't think he looks like an 1193 01:07:22,960 --> 01:07:26,560 Speaker 1: outside corner. Well, that's because of his length, right, You're right, 1194 01:07:26,680 --> 01:07:28,880 Speaker 1: and the little corner in the slot usually has to 1195 01:07:28,960 --> 01:07:31,280 Speaker 1: turn and and I don't know, he's more of a 1196 01:07:31,440 --> 01:07:34,880 Speaker 1: long glider. I don't. I don't. I think he could 1197 01:07:34,920 --> 01:07:36,400 Speaker 1: play the nickel, but I think he's more of an 1198 01:07:36,440 --> 01:07:41,480 Speaker 1: outside guy. Another position of interest, of course, in this 1199 01:07:41,640 --> 01:07:45,440 Speaker 1: training camp so far has been the offensive tackles Cam Robinson. 1200 01:07:46,000 --> 01:07:48,920 Speaker 1: He's in the franchise tag year thirteen point seven million 1201 01:07:49,000 --> 01:07:52,240 Speaker 1: dollars guaranteed this season, Juwan Taylor on the right side, 1202 01:07:52,280 --> 01:07:55,560 Speaker 1: trying to bounce back from a penalty laden season let's 1203 01:07:55,600 --> 01:07:58,480 Speaker 1: say a year ago, and then the Jaguars in the 1204 01:07:58,520 --> 01:08:00,840 Speaker 1: second round. Later in the second round, after the Campbell 1205 01:08:00,880 --> 01:08:04,240 Speaker 1: pick went got Walker Little from Stanford, and he has 1206 01:08:04,280 --> 01:08:07,840 Speaker 1: not played since early in the nineteen season. He injured 1207 01:08:07,920 --> 01:08:10,360 Speaker 1: his knee in the opening game against Northwestern that year 1208 01:08:11,200 --> 01:08:14,640 Speaker 1: and missed the entire season, came back, opted out last year, 1209 01:08:14,720 --> 01:08:16,800 Speaker 1: did not play last season, so he has not played 1210 01:08:16,840 --> 01:08:20,080 Speaker 1: football since Week one of twenty nineteen. He told me 1211 01:08:20,160 --> 01:08:22,320 Speaker 1: the other week that he has fired up to be 1212 01:08:22,439 --> 01:08:25,400 Speaker 1: back in an actual football game at some point very soon. 1213 01:08:26,120 --> 01:08:27,920 Speaker 1: There have been some moments, at least in one on 1214 01:08:28,040 --> 01:08:30,080 Speaker 1: ones when the pads went on. That you can see 1215 01:08:30,439 --> 01:08:34,920 Speaker 1: his size and his his ability to to play and 1216 01:08:35,040 --> 01:08:36,840 Speaker 1: do things the right way. Tony, what have you seen 1217 01:08:36,920 --> 01:08:38,519 Speaker 1: on tape from him? What have you seen out of 1218 01:08:38,840 --> 01:08:41,960 Speaker 1: little the times you've seen him in person? Um, He's 1219 01:08:42,000 --> 01:08:45,960 Speaker 1: a big athletic man. I mean, he's just a big person. UM. 1220 01:08:46,439 --> 01:08:50,840 Speaker 1: And he has natural ability, natural strength, UM to be 1221 01:08:51,200 --> 01:08:54,960 Speaker 1: a really good player both you know, run game, pass 1222 01:08:55,040 --> 01:08:57,960 Speaker 1: game obviously you know, you know some things he can 1223 01:08:58,000 --> 01:09:02,439 Speaker 1: clean up UM in the past game and and you 1224 01:09:02,560 --> 01:09:07,200 Speaker 1: know footwork, you know, in coordination with you know uh 1225 01:09:07,400 --> 01:09:10,479 Speaker 1: in uh working with his hand placement and everything else. 1226 01:09:11,000 --> 01:09:17,200 Speaker 1: But just overall, UM, you see why he was you know, 1227 01:09:18,160 --> 01:09:20,479 Speaker 1: before the injury and before the opt that was you know, 1228 01:09:20,640 --> 01:09:22,680 Speaker 1: thought about it as a first round traft pick. And 1229 01:09:23,720 --> 01:09:25,400 Speaker 1: and my guess is if he would have played last year, 1230 01:09:25,400 --> 01:09:27,040 Speaker 1: he would have been a first round traft pick. This year. 1231 01:09:27,320 --> 01:09:31,320 Speaker 1: I mean, he's he is a very high ceiling and 1232 01:09:31,400 --> 01:09:35,320 Speaker 1: I think he'll push. I think I think he'll push 1233 01:09:35,360 --> 01:09:38,479 Speaker 1: both the tackles. Does he play this year? I think 1234 01:09:38,520 --> 01:09:45,360 Speaker 1: he does? Which side? When you do this all the time, 1235 01:09:45,840 --> 01:09:50,439 Speaker 1: when I don't know, well, I mean I don't know 1236 01:09:51,080 --> 01:09:54,480 Speaker 1: Here's the thing I've said all year, said the offseason, 1237 01:09:54,720 --> 01:09:58,320 Speaker 1: saying at camp, I feel really good about the interior too. 1238 01:10:00,400 --> 01:10:05,719 Speaker 1: I think the the UM two out the two tackles, 1239 01:10:05,920 --> 01:10:08,479 Speaker 1: Joan Taylor and Cam Robinson have a ton of talent, 1240 01:10:09,920 --> 01:10:13,040 Speaker 1: like they have upside. They're big, physical men. They are 1241 01:10:13,120 --> 01:10:16,840 Speaker 1: inconsistent and you have to be more consistent if you 1242 01:10:16,920 --> 01:10:19,200 Speaker 1: want to be effective as an offense. You need consistency. 1243 01:10:19,240 --> 01:10:21,160 Speaker 1: Have those guys where they can hold up when it matters. 1244 01:10:22,000 --> 01:10:25,120 Speaker 1: And I just I worry about the footwork I worry about, 1245 01:10:25,280 --> 01:10:28,679 Speaker 1: you know, especially in the past game. I worry about 1246 01:10:29,280 --> 01:10:32,920 Speaker 1: UM holding up on a good outside rushers where we 1247 01:10:32,960 --> 01:10:38,920 Speaker 1: saw them struggle last year at times and in early 1248 01:10:39,200 --> 01:10:41,280 Speaker 1: and this is super early, so you don't want to 1249 01:10:41,360 --> 01:10:43,400 Speaker 1: jump to conclusions after a little bit over a week 1250 01:10:43,479 --> 01:10:46,800 Speaker 1: of camp. You still see some of the tendencies. Talk 1251 01:10:46,800 --> 01:10:49,600 Speaker 1: about Cam Robinson where he kind of opens up the 1252 01:10:49,680 --> 01:10:53,040 Speaker 1: gate gets you know, perpendicular to the line of scrimmage 1253 01:10:53,200 --> 01:10:56,200 Speaker 1: really early shortened in that corner for an outside rusher, 1254 01:10:57,000 --> 01:11:00,400 Speaker 1: and that's something has plagued them for most of his career. 1255 01:11:01,760 --> 01:11:03,880 Speaker 1: And I think John Taylor is again another guy I 1256 01:11:03,920 --> 01:11:06,320 Speaker 1: think he needs to play bigger. I don't think Jowan 1257 01:11:06,400 --> 01:11:12,040 Speaker 1: Taylor plays his big um as he as I think 1258 01:11:12,080 --> 01:11:15,719 Speaker 1: he should. It's funny Tony when you mentioned that, because 1259 01:11:15,720 --> 01:11:19,240 Speaker 1: I think the same thing when you leon seriously, was 1260 01:11:19,320 --> 01:11:22,679 Speaker 1: not a big man, but he played big. He played big. 1261 01:11:23,520 --> 01:11:27,040 Speaker 1: This he just got doesn't play big. And judging from 1262 01:11:27,080 --> 01:11:28,519 Speaker 1: what people are saying up there, and I only saw 1263 01:11:28,560 --> 01:11:32,000 Speaker 1: one practice, he's had a good can Jowan Taylor. But 1264 01:11:32,400 --> 01:11:35,720 Speaker 1: I'm with you, JP, You're being kind. Penalties. That wasn't 1265 01:11:35,760 --> 01:11:38,120 Speaker 1: the only part of the problems of his game last year. 1266 01:11:38,360 --> 01:11:42,400 Speaker 1: He wasn't very good. He regrets, he regrets Cam Robinson 1267 01:11:42,439 --> 01:11:45,920 Speaker 1: didn't get better. That's why they drafted Walking them and 1268 01:11:46,120 --> 01:11:50,320 Speaker 1: so I think I think early in the season Walker 1269 01:11:50,360 --> 01:11:53,400 Speaker 1: Little will be the left tackle. Tony does too, he 1270 01:11:53,479 --> 01:11:56,160 Speaker 1: just doesn't want to say so. You think you know 1271 01:11:56,280 --> 01:12:00,400 Speaker 1: they they oh came Rarobs in million dollars no matter what, 1272 01:12:01,160 --> 01:12:03,760 Speaker 1: which is why he's the starter right now. But you 1273 01:12:03,880 --> 01:12:06,360 Speaker 1: think Walker a little wins the job before too long. 1274 01:12:08,439 --> 01:12:11,160 Speaker 1: If let's put this way, if Cam Robinson plays like 1275 01:12:11,200 --> 01:12:13,920 Speaker 1: he did last season, yes, I agree, a little Walker 1276 01:12:13,960 --> 01:12:17,720 Speaker 1: Little will be in there by October. I agree with that. 1277 01:12:17,920 --> 01:12:21,080 Speaker 1: Then what do you do with Cam Robinson. After the year, 1278 01:12:21,080 --> 01:12:23,160 Speaker 1: you get rid of them's your backup and just eat 1279 01:12:23,200 --> 01:12:26,920 Speaker 1: the the backup. And first of all, I don't care 1280 01:12:27,000 --> 01:12:28,880 Speaker 1: what you're paying the guy. If the guy behind is better, 1281 01:12:28,920 --> 01:12:30,639 Speaker 1: you're not gonna play it right. You don't move into 1282 01:12:30,640 --> 01:12:33,240 Speaker 1: a different spot. We're not going to overtake any don't 1283 01:12:33,520 --> 01:12:34,960 Speaker 1: There's all that talk of trying to my guard. He 1284 01:12:35,000 --> 01:12:37,080 Speaker 1: hasn't done any guard work that I know. Okay, is 1285 01:12:37,080 --> 01:12:39,599 Speaker 1: he gonna be better than a j Can or or Noral? 1286 01:12:39,960 --> 01:12:42,040 Speaker 1: Obviously they don't think so if he's not working or 1287 01:12:42,400 --> 01:12:47,559 Speaker 1: cross training there. Right, j Can had good years last year, 1288 01:12:47,560 --> 01:12:49,800 Speaker 1: and you got Shotley behind them and BArch and those 1289 01:12:49,840 --> 01:12:54,840 Speaker 1: guys project you gotta then you got then you have 1290 01:12:55,040 --> 01:12:58,920 Speaker 1: expensive backup. I mean, you deal with it. But but 1291 01:12:59,040 --> 01:13:00,880 Speaker 1: you didn't when you pay ate him. You didn't know 1292 01:13:01,000 --> 01:13:07,720 Speaker 1: you were getting a tackle like that to be there. Um. So, 1293 01:13:07,880 --> 01:13:11,040 Speaker 1: if you're in that scenario when you drafted, if you 1294 01:13:11,080 --> 01:13:13,040 Speaker 1: didn't know Walker Little was gonna be there when you 1295 01:13:13,200 --> 01:13:15,759 Speaker 1: signed camera, when you put that tag on Cam Robinson, 1296 01:13:16,200 --> 01:13:21,400 Speaker 1: your backup was Will Richardson, correct, that's right. So you 1297 01:13:21,520 --> 01:13:24,519 Speaker 1: protected yourself and now you protect yourself and you still 1298 01:13:24,560 --> 01:13:27,439 Speaker 1: gotta tackle, So the best guy plays. If it's a 1299 01:13:27,439 --> 01:13:29,719 Speaker 1: walker little, I don't care what Cam Robinson is making. 1300 01:13:29,920 --> 01:13:32,000 Speaker 1: He's gonna be an expensive backup for a year. You 1301 01:13:33,400 --> 01:13:36,040 Speaker 1: paid him right, you didn't give a long term deal. 1302 01:13:37,080 --> 01:13:39,960 Speaker 1: But I would agree with me and listen, I'm rooting 1303 01:13:39,960 --> 01:13:42,360 Speaker 1: for Cam because I like Cam a lot. But the 1304 01:13:42,400 --> 01:13:45,240 Speaker 1: bottom line, you have to be consistent. I mean, you 1305 01:13:45,280 --> 01:13:46,920 Speaker 1: can have all the potential in the world, you can 1306 01:13:47,000 --> 01:13:48,600 Speaker 1: have all the ability and be big, and you have 1307 01:13:48,680 --> 01:13:50,400 Speaker 1: to be athletic. If you don't get it done, don't 1308 01:13:50,439 --> 01:13:53,920 Speaker 1: block people. Yeah, especially with let's standing in the backfield. 1309 01:13:54,080 --> 01:13:55,840 Speaker 1: I don't care who's in the backfield. Your jobs will 1310 01:13:55,840 --> 01:13:58,559 Speaker 1: protect the quarterback. Now. It might be in the spotlight 1311 01:13:58,640 --> 01:14:03,040 Speaker 1: more now, but it does it doesn't change. Nothing changes, 1312 01:14:03,400 --> 01:14:07,920 Speaker 1: doesn't matter if those two regrettless, I mean Taylor really 1313 01:14:07,960 --> 01:14:12,240 Speaker 1: regret which But you know, George Warhofks got a challenge 1314 01:14:12,280 --> 01:14:13,679 Speaker 1: this year. You didn't do it last year. He's gotta 1315 01:14:13,680 --> 01:14:16,120 Speaker 1: get it into play better. So I'm looking forward to 1316 01:14:16,200 --> 01:14:21,599 Speaker 1: watching them during the preseason games and see if because 1317 01:14:21,720 --> 01:14:23,600 Speaker 1: to me, it's all. I mean, the offensive line so 1318 01:14:23,760 --> 01:14:27,080 Speaker 1: much is about technique, like if you, if you, if 1319 01:14:27,120 --> 01:14:29,479 Speaker 1: you have the right technique, you give yourself a chance 1320 01:14:29,520 --> 01:14:33,000 Speaker 1: to be in the right position and give you yourself 1321 01:14:33,040 --> 01:14:38,479 Speaker 1: a much better chance of winning, or at least technical problem, Tony, 1322 01:14:39,080 --> 01:14:41,800 Speaker 1: you want just point out Pam Robinson's technical problem, But 1323 01:14:41,880 --> 01:14:45,160 Speaker 1: what do you want, Taylors. I mean, he's a very vertical, 1324 01:14:45,680 --> 01:14:48,599 Speaker 1: uh center, And if you're not, if you're vertical meaning 1325 01:14:48,640 --> 01:14:51,599 Speaker 1: going getting depth and really you know, kicking the lot 1326 01:14:51,720 --> 01:14:53,680 Speaker 1: straight back on the line. And if you're gonna do that, 1327 01:14:53,720 --> 01:14:55,360 Speaker 1: you better play big and you better be physical at 1328 01:14:55,360 --> 01:15:00,519 Speaker 1: the point of attack to create the separation because you know, 1329 01:15:00,600 --> 01:15:02,759 Speaker 1: if you don't that that Russia, You're given that rusher 1330 01:15:02,800 --> 01:15:05,840 Speaker 1: a lot of room instead of creating some width with 1331 01:15:06,040 --> 01:15:10,360 Speaker 1: your kick. Now, both are viable techniques. I mean, guys 1332 01:15:10,439 --> 01:15:13,040 Speaker 1: do both. But if you're gonna be vertical like that, 1333 01:15:13,120 --> 01:15:19,000 Speaker 1: you better be you better be stout because An and 1334 01:15:19,080 --> 01:15:20,840 Speaker 1: he just I mean at times I don't think he 1335 01:15:20,880 --> 01:15:22,760 Speaker 1: plays as big and he's a powerful man. He's a 1336 01:15:22,760 --> 01:15:25,800 Speaker 1: big man I personally would try to get I try 1337 01:15:25,840 --> 01:15:29,560 Speaker 1: to create more with um. I'm not a coach and 1338 01:15:29,640 --> 01:15:32,960 Speaker 1: I'm not saying that that's not a viable technique to teach. 1339 01:15:33,000 --> 01:15:36,240 Speaker 1: If that's what Jowan's being taught, but I just think, 1340 01:15:36,400 --> 01:15:38,800 Speaker 1: you know, at times he just gets pushed back and 1341 01:15:38,920 --> 01:15:41,439 Speaker 1: gets too soft in the pocket. I don't know. The 1342 01:15:41,640 --> 01:15:44,200 Speaker 1: offensive line mastermind told me that the Jaguars had two 1343 01:15:44,280 --> 01:15:46,880 Speaker 1: really good tackles. When you argue with me on Twitter, 1344 01:15:47,520 --> 01:15:49,519 Speaker 1: who's that? You know? You know that guy that has 1345 01:15:49,560 --> 01:15:53,360 Speaker 1: that offensive line Mastermind group out there? They all go, 1346 01:15:53,640 --> 01:15:58,000 Speaker 1: they descend on Texas and they have a school for 1347 01:15:58,080 --> 01:16:02,600 Speaker 1: the offensive lineman. Who that? Yeah, well he got on me. 1348 01:16:03,120 --> 01:16:05,280 Speaker 1: He got on me because I ranked certain guys and 1349 01:16:05,520 --> 01:16:07,800 Speaker 1: when I did my top one hundred and he said, 1350 01:16:07,840 --> 01:16:09,680 Speaker 1: I didn't know what I was doing. And then he 1351 01:16:09,760 --> 01:16:11,519 Speaker 1: came back and tried to say the Jaguars had two 1352 01:16:11,520 --> 01:16:13,840 Speaker 1: good tackles last year, and I went, you might want 1353 01:16:13,880 --> 01:16:16,120 Speaker 1: to clean your eyes out a little bit. Who is 1354 01:16:16,160 --> 01:16:20,800 Speaker 1: this guy? Uh is d many Weather is his name. 1355 01:16:21,560 --> 01:16:24,320 Speaker 1: He used to work for La Charles Bentley kind of 1356 01:16:24,400 --> 01:16:27,240 Speaker 1: spun off and stole his stick. And then he's got 1357 01:16:27,400 --> 01:16:30,439 Speaker 1: this whole school down in Texas. Every oven, almost all 1358 01:16:30,439 --> 01:16:32,880 Speaker 1: the offensive lineman a league go there, Tony. So you're 1359 01:16:32,920 --> 01:16:37,360 Speaker 1: discounting his his credibility saying I'm not just but my 1360 01:16:37,479 --> 01:16:39,880 Speaker 1: opinion is not just because he teaches he thinks he's 1361 01:16:39,920 --> 01:16:42,080 Speaker 1: a score strength coach when he's an offensive line girl. 1362 01:16:42,360 --> 01:16:44,760 Speaker 1: First off end of argument, he said, Joe Thomas is 1363 01:16:44,840 --> 01:16:48,559 Speaker 1: better than Tony Masselli. The game is over. Okay. If 1364 01:16:48,600 --> 01:16:51,000 Speaker 1: you really believe Joe Thomas is better than Tony Misselli, 1365 01:16:51,360 --> 01:16:54,880 Speaker 1: you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Let's 1366 01:16:54,880 --> 01:16:59,519 Speaker 1: come back in a moment. We're off and running in 1367 01:16:59,600 --> 01:17:02,680 Speaker 1: this new season of Monday Jaguars Happy Hour. Come on, Mr Mundab. 1443 01:21:36,120 --> 01:21:41,240 Speaker 1: Let's start with Jaguar's pass game coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, asked 1444 01:21:41,280 --> 01:21:46,080 Speaker 1: earlier last week rather about the progress of quarterback Trevor 1445 01:21:46,160 --> 01:21:52,000 Speaker 1: Lawrence in this offense. He's doing really good. Um, the 1446 01:21:52,120 --> 01:21:53,960 Speaker 1: last day or two, it's been goods and there's been 1447 01:21:54,000 --> 01:21:58,000 Speaker 1: bad Uh. Quick with questions, Um, it's weird. You know, 1448 01:21:58,240 --> 01:21:59,960 Speaker 1: he's a guy. He's gonna tex sh at nine forty 1449 01:22:00,040 --> 01:22:02,559 Speaker 1: five at night, ten o'clock at night with questions. Hey. 1450 01:22:02,680 --> 01:22:04,840 Speaker 1: On the script it says this is that this, Hey 1451 01:22:04,880 --> 01:22:06,559 Speaker 1: what are you thinking on that? So you know he's 1452 01:22:06,560 --> 01:22:10,719 Speaker 1: working at it all the time. Uh, and he's progressing nicely. 1453 01:22:11,040 --> 01:22:12,839 Speaker 1: You know, that's what you do with a young quarterback. 1454 01:22:12,880 --> 01:22:15,880 Speaker 1: You know there's gonna be interceptions. He's throwing those. That's 1455 01:22:15,920 --> 01:22:19,000 Speaker 1: gonna happen now, if he keeps repeating those mistakes, and 1456 01:22:19,120 --> 01:22:20,920 Speaker 1: that's when you know that he's not listening. He's not 1457 01:22:21,040 --> 01:22:23,400 Speaker 1: making the corrections, but he's not repeating those same mistakes. 1458 01:22:23,479 --> 01:22:27,200 Speaker 1: So that's when you get excited. Brian shut Brian Schottenheimer. 1459 01:22:27,240 --> 01:22:30,960 Speaker 1: There the passing game coordinator today is keeping it real topic. 1460 01:22:31,240 --> 01:22:33,840 Speaker 1: You're an advisor to head coach Urban Meyer. Guys, Okay, 1461 01:22:34,320 --> 01:22:36,280 Speaker 1: how long should Trevor? How else do we get paid 1462 01:22:36,320 --> 01:22:41,040 Speaker 1: to me? Then? I don't know, but we're right. You're 1463 01:22:41,120 --> 01:22:44,080 Speaker 1: just another number in that side of the whole way 1464 01:22:44,240 --> 01:22:49,160 Speaker 1: much less add to the list. How long should Trevor 1465 01:22:49,240 --> 01:22:53,160 Speaker 1: Lawrence play in preseason weeks one, two, and three? Tony, 1466 01:22:53,200 --> 01:22:56,880 Speaker 1: go ahead, I'd play him one quarter in preseason game one, 1467 01:22:57,520 --> 01:23:00,960 Speaker 1: all with the ones. Preseason game two, I'm playing him 1468 01:23:01,040 --> 01:23:04,160 Speaker 1: two quarters plus one series coming out of the half. 1469 01:23:05,400 --> 01:23:08,360 Speaker 1: In preseason game number three, he is sitting on the 1470 01:23:08,439 --> 01:23:16,160 Speaker 1: bench next to me. Pete boy, I'll tell you what, um, Remember, Tony, 1471 01:23:16,200 --> 01:23:18,759 Speaker 1: there's two weeks before the last from the last preseason 1472 01:23:18,800 --> 01:23:21,920 Speaker 1: game until the start of the regular season. It's different 1473 01:23:22,040 --> 01:23:25,040 Speaker 1: this year, and so do you want him not playing 1474 01:23:26,000 --> 01:23:34,040 Speaker 1: at all for three weeks? So I might go a 1475 01:23:34,160 --> 01:23:38,120 Speaker 1: quarter in the first game, quarter and a half in 1476 01:23:38,160 --> 01:23:40,840 Speaker 1: the second game, and maybe one series in the last game, 1477 01:23:41,040 --> 01:23:43,800 Speaker 1: just to get his feel for it. Again, Pete, I 1478 01:23:43,920 --> 01:23:45,320 Speaker 1: get what you're saying, but I don't want to play 1479 01:23:45,360 --> 01:23:47,840 Speaker 1: any of my offensive line in that third preseason game, 1480 01:23:48,120 --> 01:23:51,080 Speaker 1: and I'm not putting them behind backups, not a one 1481 01:23:51,160 --> 01:23:55,000 Speaker 1: series even. I mean, you're I'm not just talking about 1482 01:23:55,040 --> 01:23:57,000 Speaker 1: the I'm not talking about just him, I'm talking about 1483 01:23:57,040 --> 01:23:59,400 Speaker 1: the team. That means you go three weeks without playing 1484 01:23:59,760 --> 01:24:02,160 Speaker 1: the way for the regular months last year, without playing 1485 01:24:02,400 --> 01:24:09,360 Speaker 1: before the first first game. Yeah, play games. You're still 1486 01:24:09,400 --> 01:24:12,960 Speaker 1: going to practice? Yeah, I don't know. I might. I 1487 01:24:13,080 --> 01:24:15,920 Speaker 1: might consider playing him one series if you played the starters, 1488 01:24:16,000 --> 01:24:18,120 Speaker 1: but if not, then I wouldn't play him. I'm with Tony, 1489 01:24:18,479 --> 01:24:19,840 Speaker 1: come let it come out of the half in the 1490 01:24:19,920 --> 01:24:23,920 Speaker 1: second game and then get him out of there. That's interesting, right, 1491 01:24:24,000 --> 01:24:27,200 Speaker 1: I mean because and you know it's also the first 1492 01:24:27,240 --> 01:24:29,240 Speaker 1: time Urbans had to do this, right, he's got That's 1493 01:24:29,240 --> 01:24:31,320 Speaker 1: why he has the NFL staff around him to help 1494 01:24:31,400 --> 01:24:37,839 Speaker 1: him wherever. He's been around forever. But it's a different 1495 01:24:37,960 --> 01:24:41,519 Speaker 1: it's a different year though, there's it's a new thing. 1496 01:24:41,640 --> 01:24:45,760 Speaker 1: There's not four preseason games cuts are on Tuesday. Um, 1497 01:24:45,880 --> 01:24:48,840 Speaker 1: so you know it's an entirely different thing this year, 1498 01:24:48,920 --> 01:24:50,640 Speaker 1: So how do you handle it? And by the way, 1499 01:24:50,680 --> 01:24:52,880 Speaker 1: they're back down to three different cuts this year also, 1500 01:24:52,960 --> 01:24:56,720 Speaker 1: they go down to five Tuesday after the first preseason game, 1501 01:24:56,760 --> 01:24:59,639 Speaker 1: and every Tuesday after that, it's like five week after 1502 01:24:59,760 --> 01:25:02,960 Speaker 1: that last but the last two last one, you'd have 1503 01:25:03,040 --> 01:25:04,800 Speaker 1: a week and a half, so you could you're gonna 1504 01:25:04,800 --> 01:25:06,280 Speaker 1: cut your roster and you're gonna have a week and 1505 01:25:06,320 --> 01:25:08,080 Speaker 1: a half you can get guys in and they can 1506 01:25:08,200 --> 01:25:11,040 Speaker 1: get acclimated quicker. Remember it used to happen you'd have 1507 01:25:11,080 --> 01:25:13,240 Speaker 1: to get him acclimated right away because you're playing the 1508 01:25:13,280 --> 01:25:15,600 Speaker 1: game the next week. And the Jaguars Pete has the 1509 01:25:15,680 --> 01:25:17,680 Speaker 1: number one waiver claim for the first three weeks of 1510 01:25:17,760 --> 01:25:20,680 Speaker 1: the season, so they'll have first option. They don't want 1511 01:25:20,680 --> 01:25:23,360 Speaker 1: to have ever again with Drever Lard's here either, nor 1512 01:25:23,439 --> 01:25:28,280 Speaker 1: will they. So yeah, changes, So, Tony, does that change 1513 01:25:28,320 --> 01:25:32,000 Speaker 1: your mind at all about the last one? No, because 1514 01:25:32,000 --> 01:25:36,439 Speaker 1: I don't want to play my starters one series. What's 1515 01:25:36,479 --> 01:25:39,800 Speaker 1: the what's the benefit of one series? It's all downside. 1516 01:25:40,920 --> 01:25:43,760 Speaker 1: You're probably right, another prep week. You know you're gonna 1517 01:25:43,800 --> 01:25:47,080 Speaker 1: play guess what. I prep them all week, they go 1518 01:25:47,160 --> 01:25:49,880 Speaker 1: out for pregame warm up, they get their sweat on, 1519 01:25:50,040 --> 01:25:52,640 Speaker 1: and guess what get out playing guys. I want to 1520 01:25:52,680 --> 01:25:55,000 Speaker 1: evaluate that are down the line and see what I got. 1521 01:25:55,680 --> 01:25:58,200 Speaker 1: But Tony, what about Okay? So why play so much 1522 01:25:58,240 --> 01:26:00,960 Speaker 1: in the second game? Because I up my young quarterback 1523 01:26:01,040 --> 01:26:04,840 Speaker 1: to go through like the mechanics and the work and 1524 01:26:04,960 --> 01:26:08,000 Speaker 1: everything else. So you're gonna play, You're gonna play the starters. Yeah, 1525 01:26:08,000 --> 01:26:10,680 Speaker 1: I'm playing the starters. I'm playing. I'm playing. As much 1526 01:26:10,720 --> 01:26:12,920 Speaker 1: as I hated it as a player, I think there's 1527 01:26:12,920 --> 01:26:15,639 Speaker 1: a benefit playing a half, going in a halftime, coming 1528 01:26:15,680 --> 01:26:19,920 Speaker 1: out and getting a series. I don't know. I don't 1529 01:26:19,920 --> 01:26:21,560 Speaker 1: even know if you're not gonna do I don't know 1530 01:26:21,600 --> 01:26:23,360 Speaker 1: if I would even do that. I play in the 1531 01:26:23,439 --> 01:26:25,800 Speaker 1: quarter and get them out of there, and then I 1532 01:26:25,960 --> 01:26:29,320 Speaker 1: just think. I mean, he said, how hard is it 1533 01:26:29,360 --> 01:26:31,800 Speaker 1: get adjusted the halftime? Well, I'm just saying, it's just 1534 01:26:31,920 --> 01:26:34,680 Speaker 1: your body used to the mechanics. I'll say this, we 1535 01:26:34,800 --> 01:26:38,680 Speaker 1: go what go look at? How much? Not? Last year? 1536 01:26:38,720 --> 01:26:41,400 Speaker 1: The year before, after the Chiefs went to the a 1537 01:26:41,560 --> 01:26:43,519 Speaker 1: f C Championship, I we went to the Super Bowl. No. 1538 01:26:43,640 --> 01:26:46,360 Speaker 1: A FC championship game and loss to the Patriots. Go, 1539 01:26:46,520 --> 01:26:52,080 Speaker 1: look how much that following preseason you saw they played. 1540 01:26:52,800 --> 01:26:57,960 Speaker 1: They're starters in preparation for the season. Because this is 1541 01:26:58,040 --> 01:27:01,160 Speaker 1: a super Bowl team that we're talking about a year ago. Yeah, 1542 01:27:01,560 --> 01:27:03,560 Speaker 1: I mean two years two years ago. The one of 1543 01:27:03,600 --> 01:27:06,360 Speaker 1: the super about this team. This is a bunch of 1544 01:27:06,439 --> 01:27:08,800 Speaker 1: young kids. I know that, but they I'm saying, they know. 1545 01:27:09,000 --> 01:27:11,000 Speaker 1: My point is they played a bunch of football. Patrick 1546 01:27:11,040 --> 01:27:13,759 Speaker 1: Mahomes was playing the first preseason game, played the second 1547 01:27:13,800 --> 01:27:16,559 Speaker 1: preseason game. This is when they had four preseason games, 1548 01:27:16,600 --> 01:27:19,080 Speaker 1: even played a little the third, Like did you try 1549 01:27:19,120 --> 01:27:22,360 Speaker 1: to get reps? You gotta get practice? Okay, you gotta 1550 01:27:22,400 --> 01:27:24,000 Speaker 1: get reps. And why not play a series in the 1551 01:27:24,120 --> 01:27:29,479 Speaker 1: let and the third preseason game? Yes, okay. The only 1552 01:27:29,600 --> 01:27:31,800 Speaker 1: reason I'm saying not to because I know there's no 1553 01:27:31,920 --> 01:27:35,400 Speaker 1: chance they are so I'm trying to be right. What 1554 01:27:35,520 --> 01:27:40,160 Speaker 1: would you do? Yeah, Coach Boselli, I go playing a 1555 01:27:40,240 --> 01:27:45,160 Speaker 1: quarter in the final preseason game. Wow, well you just 1556 01:27:45,320 --> 01:27:48,920 Speaker 1: change your mind then, But I'm giving just giving both 1557 01:27:48,960 --> 01:27:53,320 Speaker 1: sides of the story. He's gonna send him five minutes ago, Freddie, Freddie, 1558 01:27:53,320 --> 01:27:57,040 Speaker 1: flip Bob, what are you doing? What's that. I mean, 1559 01:27:57,080 --> 01:28:00,240 Speaker 1: I could be talked out of the third preseason. You 1560 01:28:00,400 --> 01:28:04,360 Speaker 1: just flip lock. My point is can be talked out 1561 01:28:04,400 --> 01:28:09,559 Speaker 1: of it, Pete. I am steadfast on the quarter two 1562 01:28:09,640 --> 01:28:12,400 Speaker 1: quarters in a series in the third and then I 1563 01:28:12,560 --> 01:28:14,919 Speaker 1: need to evaluate. How about this, I want to evaluate 1564 01:28:15,000 --> 01:28:16,720 Speaker 1: where my team is going to the third piece. Does 1565 01:28:16,720 --> 01:28:18,439 Speaker 1: it matter? I mean, it depends on how they play 1566 01:28:18,479 --> 01:28:20,280 Speaker 1: in the second game. If they don't play well, okay, 1567 01:28:20,320 --> 01:28:21,960 Speaker 1: you need to go out and play a game played great, 1568 01:28:22,000 --> 01:28:24,720 Speaker 1: then you're not playing. Yes, it matters. Okay, let's see 1569 01:28:24,720 --> 01:28:26,920 Speaker 1: how sharp they are. That's why you said about You 1570 01:28:27,000 --> 01:28:29,360 Speaker 1: said reps. You want reps, you get more reps if 1571 01:28:29,360 --> 01:28:31,120 Speaker 1: you're playing the third preseason well, if you stink you 1572 01:28:31,200 --> 01:28:33,680 Speaker 1: need more reps, yes, well what if you play well, 1573 01:28:33,720 --> 01:28:36,240 Speaker 1: you just said you want more. You want reps, period. 1574 01:28:36,320 --> 01:28:39,519 Speaker 1: That's what you said. You said as a coach, you 1575 01:28:39,560 --> 01:28:42,680 Speaker 1: would play them, Pete. There is a fine line when 1576 01:28:42,760 --> 01:28:45,920 Speaker 1: there becomes the reps verse. The risk have to be wait, 1577 01:28:46,080 --> 01:28:50,479 Speaker 1: and that's true. I agree, So I probably would play 1578 01:28:50,560 --> 01:28:55,320 Speaker 1: them your first your first plan plus my series in 1579 01:28:55,400 --> 01:28:58,360 Speaker 1: the last game. I play one series in the last game, 1580 01:28:59,360 --> 01:29:01,960 Speaker 1: not three. It depends on what they do in the 1581 01:29:02,040 --> 01:29:05,000 Speaker 1: second preseason game. That determines what I do, much like 1582 01:29:05,280 --> 01:29:08,840 Speaker 1: Urban this past weekend determined Sunday after when he saw 1583 01:29:08,920 --> 01:29:12,639 Speaker 1: happen Saturday, because he saw the how his team practice, 1584 01:29:12,680 --> 01:29:15,280 Speaker 1: how physical they were, and they were nick so he 1585 01:29:15,400 --> 01:29:19,040 Speaker 1: made a informed decision not to put the pads on Sunday. 1586 01:29:19,160 --> 01:29:24,040 Speaker 1: I went with Urban. I evaluate my team. I'm gonna 1587 01:29:24,040 --> 01:29:27,200 Speaker 1: do it's best for my team. Pete. So three offensive 1588 01:29:27,200 --> 01:29:29,160 Speaker 1: linement around in the final preseason game. Of course you 1589 01:29:29,200 --> 01:29:32,559 Speaker 1: don't play them everybody's healthy. But if everybody's health, you play. 1590 01:29:33,240 --> 01:29:35,280 Speaker 1: That's not true. If they come out and they're smoking 1591 01:29:35,360 --> 01:29:37,519 Speaker 1: it in the second preseason game and they're tight, we 1592 01:29:37,560 --> 01:29:40,800 Speaker 1: have a good week of practice and saying boys hang 1593 01:29:40,840 --> 01:29:45,439 Speaker 1: outline rapid question. If this was a normal preseason with 1594 01:29:45,760 --> 01:29:47,680 Speaker 1: like it used to be, with four preseason games, how 1595 01:29:47,720 --> 01:29:52,040 Speaker 1: would you play him? I'd go, um, one series, I 1596 01:29:52,120 --> 01:29:56,120 Speaker 1: mean two series. The first preseason game a quarter in 1597 01:29:56,320 --> 01:29:59,080 Speaker 1: a half kind of like somewhere a quarter and a 1598 01:29:59,160 --> 01:30:04,760 Speaker 1: little bit. Second preseason game, full half series in the 1599 01:30:04,840 --> 01:30:07,640 Speaker 1: third preseason game. Nothing in the fourth preseason game. So 1600 01:30:08,040 --> 01:30:13,760 Speaker 1: so two weeks before the regular season started, you would 1601 01:30:13,840 --> 01:30:17,880 Speaker 1: play him more than a half. Now you're two weeks 1602 01:30:17,920 --> 01:30:19,760 Speaker 1: out and you're only gonna you're not gonna play him. 1603 01:30:19,880 --> 01:30:22,560 Speaker 1: He fell right into that one, and I probably, and 1604 01:30:23,000 --> 01:30:24,840 Speaker 1: really what I probably? I might not play him at 1605 01:30:24,840 --> 01:30:26,840 Speaker 1: all in the first preseason game. I saw that one 1606 01:30:26,920 --> 01:30:31,320 Speaker 1: coming a mile and a half half. That game's in Jacksonville. No, 1607 01:30:31,400 --> 01:30:34,400 Speaker 1: I'm talking the old system, the four preseason game. But 1608 01:30:34,520 --> 01:30:36,439 Speaker 1: this guy, this time, you have to play him. Yeah, 1609 01:30:36,479 --> 01:30:41,160 Speaker 1: you play I would think I'm playing him. Yeah, let's 1610 01:30:41,160 --> 01:30:43,400 Speaker 1: see if we could go to break JP and Tony 1611 01:30:43,400 --> 01:30:48,479 Speaker 1: will change Urban. If you're listening, if you need any help, 1612 01:30:48,720 --> 01:30:51,840 Speaker 1: we can get it done on this show. Tony can't 1613 01:30:51,880 --> 01:30:54,200 Speaker 1: give it to you. I'm like Urban, Listen, I gotta 1614 01:30:54,280 --> 01:30:58,040 Speaker 1: value with my team as we go, Pete. Glad you're long 1686 01:35:14,520 --> 01:35:17,240 Speaker 1: with us, the first Monday show of the one campaign. 1687 01:35:17,360 --> 01:35:21,240 Speaker 1: J P. Shadrick, Tony Vasselli, Pete Frisco, your social questions 1688 01:35:21,280 --> 01:35:24,280 Speaker 1: coming up in moments. Tony Vasselli, you have a comment. 1689 01:35:24,560 --> 01:35:30,200 Speaker 1: To be clear, there was no flip flopping, Pete, I 1690 01:35:30,280 --> 01:35:33,760 Speaker 1: said from the beginning, two series or a quarter in 1691 01:35:33,840 --> 01:35:37,080 Speaker 1: the first preseason game, a half in one series in 1692 01:35:37,160 --> 01:35:40,920 Speaker 1: the second preseason game, nothing in the third preason's preseason game. 1693 01:35:41,000 --> 01:35:45,160 Speaker 1: I then did make an amendment of a possibility if 1694 01:35:45,240 --> 01:35:49,759 Speaker 1: the team did not play well and I needed more reps, 1695 01:35:50,720 --> 01:35:53,519 Speaker 1: that I'd be open to some time in the third 1696 01:35:53,560 --> 01:35:57,759 Speaker 1: preseason game. But you always have to weigh reps versus risk, 1697 01:35:58,280 --> 01:36:01,920 Speaker 1: and if you have a good camp, good first preseason game, 1698 01:36:02,040 --> 01:36:04,839 Speaker 1: good second preseason game, have a good week of practice. 1699 01:36:05,040 --> 01:36:08,360 Speaker 1: You do not need that third preseason game. I'm standing 1700 01:36:08,400 --> 01:36:11,080 Speaker 1: by that. That's my position, and that's what I said. 1701 01:36:11,400 --> 01:36:14,400 Speaker 1: It got muddled up because Pete likes the twist words 1702 01:36:14,800 --> 01:36:17,879 Speaker 1: and take things out of context. He's a typical reporter 1703 01:36:18,439 --> 01:36:21,160 Speaker 1: that misquotes you and then prints it in the paper 1704 01:36:21,479 --> 01:36:26,160 Speaker 1: and says, this is a story. Typical. Tony allowed two 1705 01:36:26,200 --> 01:36:28,360 Speaker 1: sacks today. But yeah, go ahead, you want to You 1706 01:36:28,439 --> 01:36:30,840 Speaker 1: wanna take a side on that? Hey, can you fix 1707 01:36:30,920 --> 01:36:32,320 Speaker 1: your your butt so they don't look like you're like 1708 01:36:32,600 --> 01:36:36,920 Speaker 1: looks like you're an alien? Hey, JP, you want to 1709 01:36:37,000 --> 01:36:40,000 Speaker 1: take it, take pick a side? Who is right? So 1710 01:36:40,080 --> 01:36:42,680 Speaker 1: we're keeping score on keeping it real? I think starting now, 1711 01:36:42,800 --> 01:36:45,000 Speaker 1: so I think Pete one, No, he did not, he 1712 01:36:45,240 --> 01:36:48,640 Speaker 1: copied me, said I do, Tony did no use. Then 1713 01:36:48,680 --> 01:36:50,840 Speaker 1: when I came back and I asked you, how would 1714 01:36:50,840 --> 01:36:54,560 Speaker 1: you handle it if it was a regular pond it 1715 01:36:54,640 --> 01:36:56,920 Speaker 1: both ways. I'm getting all kinds of tweets and saying 1716 01:36:56,960 --> 01:37:05,479 Speaker 1: Tony was clearly um clearer and conside wasn't use. Tell 1717 01:37:05,479 --> 01:37:10,479 Speaker 1: your family to make you look good? Concise is concise? 1718 01:37:10,600 --> 01:37:13,280 Speaker 1: Is not in Tony's dictionary. That doesn't work, That's not 1719 01:37:13,400 --> 01:37:16,680 Speaker 1: how it works for when I won the argument in 1720 01:37:16,840 --> 01:37:18,639 Speaker 1: large part because when I came back and asked him 1721 01:37:18,640 --> 01:37:19,960 Speaker 1: how he would play it if it was a four 1722 01:37:20,640 --> 01:37:22,599 Speaker 1: week preseason like the old days, he said he would 1723 01:37:22,600 --> 01:37:25,479 Speaker 1: have played him in the third week. And that was 1724 01:37:25,800 --> 01:37:29,040 Speaker 1: the case was closed. There bang the gabble, it's over, 1725 01:37:29,320 --> 01:37:34,200 Speaker 1: case dismissed. Pete wins. Get the case of Robert Mundabi. 1726 01:37:34,360 --> 01:37:41,000 Speaker 1: And that's for a case on the winner. Losers get, 1727 01:37:41,400 --> 01:37:44,120 Speaker 1: winners get a game. I love it, and it pays 1728 01:37:44,200 --> 01:37:47,640 Speaker 1: to win, man. I mean, so all year you'll get 1729 01:37:47,920 --> 01:37:49,200 Speaker 1: you get a bottle. By the end of the year, 1730 01:37:49,200 --> 01:37:53,400 Speaker 1: you'll have a case. Let's get to social media questions. 1731 01:37:53,439 --> 01:37:56,519 Speaker 1: We put out the bat signal earlier today and here's 1732 01:37:56,560 --> 01:37:59,360 Speaker 1: the best we've come up with today at Stue Winners, 1733 01:38:00,479 --> 01:38:03,040 Speaker 1: guys were happy year back. I'm instating how much of 1734 01:38:03,120 --> 01:38:05,760 Speaker 1: a difference of sports performance model Meyer has run into 1735 01:38:05,760 --> 01:38:07,760 Speaker 1: the team has made. As I would have thought, by now, 1736 01:38:08,000 --> 01:38:10,559 Speaker 1: most of not all clubs will be doing similar things 1737 01:38:10,720 --> 01:38:13,920 Speaker 1: in this area. Pete. They've added so many facilities here 1738 01:38:13,960 --> 01:38:18,040 Speaker 1: in the options and cryo tank, hot cold tubs, all 1739 01:38:18,080 --> 01:38:21,960 Speaker 1: these things that they didn't have before, and Urban has 1740 01:38:22,040 --> 01:38:24,640 Speaker 1: made an emphasis It's not the only place in the 1741 01:38:24,680 --> 01:38:27,960 Speaker 1: league that does this, though, is it. No. I was 1742 01:38:28,040 --> 01:38:30,320 Speaker 1: in Miamti practice facility the other day. You should see 1743 01:38:30,320 --> 01:38:32,840 Speaker 1: the thing. It's incredible. They just built it. It's right 1744 01:38:32,840 --> 01:38:35,479 Speaker 1: outside the stadium. It's phenomenal and and that's the next 1745 01:38:35,520 --> 01:38:38,120 Speaker 1: step for Jacksonville. He kudos to Urban for bringing all 1746 01:38:38,160 --> 01:38:40,280 Speaker 1: that stuff in there. You have to have it. They 1747 01:38:40,360 --> 01:38:43,000 Speaker 1: just don't have the room for it. They need a facility, 1748 01:38:43,040 --> 01:38:44,960 Speaker 1: and I think it's gonna get done. It needs to 1749 01:38:45,000 --> 01:38:49,400 Speaker 1: get done. I will be real melancholy when they do 1750 01:38:49,520 --> 01:38:52,960 Speaker 1: build the practice facility, in large part because that means 1751 01:38:53,040 --> 01:38:55,720 Speaker 1: the days of the reporters sitting on the bench outside 1752 01:38:56,040 --> 01:38:57,880 Speaker 1: waiting for guys to come out to get the real 1753 01:38:58,080 --> 01:39:04,560 Speaker 1: story will be over. So the interesting thing about the 1754 01:39:04,760 --> 01:39:07,760 Speaker 1: comment about the sports performance, I agree with Pete. I 1755 01:39:07,840 --> 01:39:10,400 Speaker 1: love it. As a player, do everything you can, I 1756 01:39:10,439 --> 01:39:13,040 Speaker 1: mean as it's I mean for the players as a staff, 1757 01:39:13,080 --> 01:39:15,080 Speaker 1: do everything you can to make sure they're ready to 1758 01:39:15,160 --> 01:39:17,559 Speaker 1: perform at the highest level, and it gives them more 1759 01:39:17,760 --> 01:39:20,360 Speaker 1: value for themselves as well. I think it's great. I 1760 01:39:20,439 --> 01:39:24,400 Speaker 1: love it. I would love in I mean paid the 1761 01:39:24,439 --> 01:39:27,160 Speaker 1: close enough attention. It would be interesting to do at 1762 01:39:27,200 --> 01:39:30,880 Speaker 1: the end of this camp does and it's such a 1763 01:39:30,920 --> 01:39:32,840 Speaker 1: small sample size. You perhaps to do it over years 1764 01:39:33,240 --> 01:39:36,200 Speaker 1: by having these extra facilities and these extra treatments and 1765 01:39:36,520 --> 01:39:41,719 Speaker 1: you know, cryoh and massage and hot, cold, warm, whatever tubs, 1766 01:39:41,760 --> 01:39:44,200 Speaker 1: I mean all the different stuff, which again all four 1767 01:39:44,320 --> 01:39:46,320 Speaker 1: I love it. As a player, I would have been 1768 01:39:47,040 --> 01:39:50,320 Speaker 1: all about it. Is I wonder what the difference is. 1769 01:39:51,479 --> 01:39:55,320 Speaker 1: Is there a direct correlation to less injuries, especially soft 1770 01:39:55,360 --> 01:39:57,680 Speaker 1: tissue injuries? I think that. I mean, you can't the 1771 01:39:57,760 --> 01:39:59,560 Speaker 1: guy blowing his knee out getting rolled up in a 1772 01:39:59,600 --> 01:40:03,519 Speaker 1: pile in that. I mean, there's no bearing but soft 1773 01:40:03,560 --> 01:40:07,040 Speaker 1: tissue injuries. I wonder if there's a direct correlation that 1774 01:40:07,120 --> 01:40:10,960 Speaker 1: you can measure to be interesting, to be interesting, to 1775 01:40:10,960 --> 01:40:12,680 Speaker 1: measure that over a long period of time, I mean 1776 01:40:12,760 --> 01:40:14,360 Speaker 1: one year you're not gonna do it, but like over 1777 01:40:14,560 --> 01:40:16,840 Speaker 1: a five year period, did you lessen the number of 1778 01:40:16,920 --> 01:40:19,800 Speaker 1: soft tissue in injuries? Yet have come a long way 1779 01:40:19,880 --> 01:40:23,360 Speaker 1: from sprinkling creaton on the French Fries and the Gaffetheria Like. 1780 01:40:25,160 --> 01:40:28,320 Speaker 1: It's amazing though, how a few people miss stuff back then, Pete, 1781 01:40:28,360 --> 01:40:30,320 Speaker 1: only because everyone's afraid the death to go to the 1782 01:40:30,360 --> 01:40:34,519 Speaker 1: training room. You remember, do you remember remember when used 1783 01:40:34,520 --> 01:40:39,760 Speaker 1: to being ocean, used to joke, remember everywhere. But you 1784 01:40:39,800 --> 01:40:44,320 Speaker 1: know what I mean, it's just it's a different mentality. 1785 01:40:44,560 --> 01:40:48,360 Speaker 1: I mean, it's incredible the facilities nowadays, and it's a 1786 01:40:48,400 --> 01:40:50,479 Speaker 1: player I would have loved it. If you don't pay 1787 01:40:50,520 --> 01:40:53,400 Speaker 1: for it anymore. Your you know what Brian Flores told 1788 01:40:53,400 --> 01:40:55,559 Speaker 1: me the day he goes. It keeps the guys around longer, 1789 01:40:56,160 --> 01:40:59,040 Speaker 1: when it builds camaraderie, you don't. You don't get out 1790 01:40:59,080 --> 01:41:02,160 Speaker 1: of there quickly in the off season, even if because 1791 01:41:02,160 --> 01:41:04,560 Speaker 1: there's so much right there. If you've got all that 1792 01:41:04,680 --> 01:41:06,320 Speaker 1: stuff right there, you don't need to go get a 1793 01:41:06,360 --> 01:41:08,360 Speaker 1: massage somewhere else. You don't need to go get crying 1794 01:41:08,479 --> 01:41:10,960 Speaker 1: therapy somewhere else. The food is good. I mean it 1795 01:41:11,080 --> 01:41:13,040 Speaker 1: just it just makes sense for teams to do that. 1796 01:41:13,360 --> 01:41:15,960 Speaker 1: I love it and I'm just jealous. Who wasn't around 1797 01:41:15,960 --> 01:41:18,479 Speaker 1: when I was a player. Let's move belong to our 1798 01:41:18,560 --> 01:41:21,479 Speaker 1: next question from at Jay Hopkins b G S. Has 1799 01:41:21,560 --> 01:41:24,320 Speaker 1: Cam Robinson or a walker Little reached out to Tony 1800 01:41:25,600 --> 01:41:30,120 Speaker 1: um One that's a private conversation. I'd like to you 1801 01:41:30,280 --> 01:41:34,680 Speaker 1: sound like a player that I have had um conversations 1802 01:41:34,720 --> 01:41:38,839 Speaker 1: with Cam over the years, and I traded text messages 1803 01:41:39,200 --> 01:41:41,640 Speaker 1: with Walker after you got drafted, and I'll leave it 1804 01:41:41,680 --> 01:41:46,120 Speaker 1: at that. And we're not ready to call anybody baby 1805 01:41:46,160 --> 01:41:49,080 Speaker 1: BASSELLI yeah, just like over the years, every guy that's 1806 01:41:49,120 --> 01:41:53,400 Speaker 1: ever been called that, it's almost like a curse. Baby. 1807 01:41:54,800 --> 01:41:56,320 Speaker 1: I'll say the same thing. And I know, Pete, you 1808 01:41:56,400 --> 01:42:00,519 Speaker 1: never you always like say oh stop number one, don't care, 1809 01:42:00,840 --> 01:42:03,680 Speaker 1: it's done, Like let them be their own players, like 1810 01:42:03,760 --> 01:42:06,040 Speaker 1: walk like Camera Robinson, let me go be the left tackle. 1811 01:42:06,080 --> 01:42:08,720 Speaker 1: And I hope, I hope he exceeds what I did, 1812 01:42:08,840 --> 01:42:10,280 Speaker 1: and I hope he's a better player than I was 1813 01:42:10,400 --> 01:42:13,000 Speaker 1: because that means it's good for our franchise. And if 1814 01:42:13,040 --> 01:42:15,640 Speaker 1: it's not Camera Robinson, I hope it's Walker Little and 1815 01:42:15,720 --> 01:42:18,000 Speaker 1: I hope John Taylor playing right tackles better than I 1816 01:42:18,160 --> 01:42:20,400 Speaker 1: was and better than Leon Cerci was. I mean, that's 1817 01:42:20,439 --> 01:42:24,360 Speaker 1: what you want for the franchise. I mean, any i'd 1818 01:42:24,360 --> 01:42:28,200 Speaker 1: be leaning to know on. But Pete, you know what 1819 01:42:28,240 --> 01:42:30,759 Speaker 1: I mean. As an ex player, if you left the franchise, 1820 01:42:30,800 --> 01:42:33,040 Speaker 1: it's not like about like, oh, you don't want anyone 1821 01:42:33,280 --> 01:42:35,720 Speaker 1: like no, yes, I want him to be better. I 1822 01:42:35,800 --> 01:42:37,439 Speaker 1: want to have great careers. I want to make a 1823 01:42:37,560 --> 01:42:38,840 Speaker 1: ton of money, and I want us to win a 1824 01:42:38,880 --> 01:42:42,559 Speaker 1: super boy. Mike Pearson was baby BASSELLI never worked out. 1825 01:42:43,000 --> 01:42:45,840 Speaker 1: Luke Joe go baby BASSELLI never worked out. Maybe they 1826 01:42:45,920 --> 01:42:48,360 Speaker 1: stopped calling them that, Yeah I would. I never liked 1827 01:42:48,840 --> 01:42:51,200 Speaker 1: I never liked the Moniker anyways. Yeah, that and what 1828 01:42:51,360 --> 01:42:55,200 Speaker 1: they've had four or five padded practices in camp already. 1829 01:42:55,560 --> 01:42:58,760 Speaker 1: It's so early played a preseason game. Yeah, Logs and 1830 01:42:58,800 --> 01:43:01,400 Speaker 1: I were talking about that beat, like, the total amount 1831 01:43:01,439 --> 01:43:06,080 Speaker 1: of padded practices they'll have in quote unquote camp, we 1832 01:43:06,160 --> 01:43:10,559 Speaker 1: would have had in the first week of camp. Think 1833 01:43:10,560 --> 01:43:13,840 Speaker 1: about that. It's incredible. I was telling one of the 1834 01:43:14,080 --> 01:43:16,160 Speaker 1: I was telling Shack Barrett he was all sweaty after 1835 01:43:16,240 --> 01:43:18,320 Speaker 1: practice and I go, he goes, it's hot out here, 1836 01:43:18,360 --> 01:43:22,320 Speaker 1: and I go, no idea, dude. Ray Perkins used to 1837 01:43:22,360 --> 01:43:28,760 Speaker 1: have three practices a day, three no padded. We never 1838 01:43:28,800 --> 01:43:30,880 Speaker 1: had three days. I remember we'd have to practice and 1839 01:43:31,040 --> 01:43:33,479 Speaker 1: the walkthrough and the two practice were in the heat 1840 01:43:33,560 --> 01:43:36,639 Speaker 1: of the day and they were both padded, and you're 1841 01:43:36,640 --> 01:43:39,200 Speaker 1: going full speed and just beating the hell out of me. Now. 1842 01:43:39,400 --> 01:43:41,679 Speaker 1: And by the way, this isn't the old guy said, 1843 01:43:41,680 --> 01:43:44,519 Speaker 1: Oh we were tougher. You should have been like my 1844 01:43:44,680 --> 01:43:46,760 Speaker 1: idea is like I like what they do now, Like 1845 01:43:47,040 --> 01:43:49,400 Speaker 1: it would have been better you guys would go to 1846 01:43:49,880 --> 01:43:52,120 Speaker 1: one than two again, right, it was never two two 1847 01:43:52,200 --> 01:43:53,920 Speaker 1: and two. No, it was so the first year it 1848 01:43:54,000 --> 01:43:55,720 Speaker 1: was too too too, too, too, too too two two. 1849 01:43:56,800 --> 01:43:59,000 Speaker 1: In the second year it was two too too, too, 1850 01:43:59,080 --> 01:44:01,560 Speaker 1: too too two. The third year, when we thought we 1851 01:44:01,680 --> 01:44:07,479 Speaker 1: got the break, it was two one to one. Right, 1852 01:44:07,840 --> 01:44:10,160 Speaker 1: that's right Steven's point. It was too too, too, too, too, 1853 01:44:10,240 --> 01:44:13,080 Speaker 1: for sure. And I thought the second year he evolved 1854 01:44:13,080 --> 01:44:14,960 Speaker 1: a little bit. Well maybe the second year was too 1855 01:44:15,000 --> 01:44:17,560 Speaker 1: to one to to one, and then it went to 1856 01:44:17,880 --> 01:44:21,599 Speaker 1: one to one. But they were they were all in pad. 1857 01:44:22,240 --> 01:44:25,639 Speaker 1: Everything was in pads. You know what's gone middle drill 1858 01:44:25,800 --> 01:44:30,120 Speaker 1: is gone nine seven then and where they pound it 1859 01:44:30,240 --> 01:44:35,280 Speaker 1: really hard the other day, ye first day in a 1860 01:44:35,360 --> 01:44:37,000 Speaker 1: lot of teams are how about like when you used 1861 01:44:37,040 --> 01:44:39,720 Speaker 1: to start practice with goal on, Remember that goal one 1862 01:44:39,760 --> 01:44:42,559 Speaker 1: was always they always had like after week one or something, 1863 01:44:43,080 --> 01:44:46,280 Speaker 1: goal line was live. It was a live drill. And 1864 01:44:46,360 --> 01:44:49,240 Speaker 1: that's even up to last last year, the last couple 1865 01:44:49,280 --> 01:44:52,320 Speaker 1: of years. But you always have to is anybody tackling 1866 01:44:52,560 --> 01:44:58,160 Speaker 1: they don't tackle there? Right, No, I some places do though, yeah, 1867 01:44:58,520 --> 01:45:01,519 Speaker 1: not many. Though, let's get a couple more questions, and 1868 01:45:01,720 --> 01:45:03,640 Speaker 1: and let's go to the question number four, Brent and 1869 01:45:04,000 --> 01:45:07,200 Speaker 1: at duval Noll. If we keep six wide receivers, who 1870 01:45:07,240 --> 01:45:09,040 Speaker 1: do we keep? Seems like it would be difficult to 1871 01:45:09,120 --> 01:45:12,719 Speaker 1: cut Treadwell at this point. Well, let's do a quick count. 1872 01:45:12,880 --> 01:45:15,160 Speaker 1: And I got the list right here. Good for you. Um, 1873 01:45:15,400 --> 01:45:19,679 Speaker 1: let's go, we got well, you know, Leviss's on the team, 1874 01:45:20,560 --> 01:45:24,439 Speaker 1: Marvin Jones on the team. J J. Chark on the team. Yes, 1875 01:45:24,520 --> 01:45:27,800 Speaker 1: even though he had surgery, but yes, we did one. 1876 01:45:29,080 --> 01:45:36,840 Speaker 1: Rebert Meyer said, okay, three, Um, didn't you start getting set? 1877 01:45:39,400 --> 01:45:42,040 Speaker 1: I already had a gun bunch right Colin Johnson, Colin Johnson, 1878 01:45:42,080 --> 01:45:45,639 Speaker 1: I'd say he's on the team. I think I think 1879 01:45:45,720 --> 01:45:47,760 Speaker 1: Jalen Camp is on the team because he's a big, 1880 01:45:47,840 --> 01:45:50,160 Speaker 1: physical guy who can play special teams. That think that's fine, 1881 01:45:50,200 --> 01:45:53,840 Speaker 1: but that's he's got to play special team. Agnew on 1882 01:45:53,960 --> 01:45:56,479 Speaker 1: the team. He's a kick returning special team doesn't really 1883 01:45:56,560 --> 01:45:59,840 Speaker 1: count as a receiver. Though. That's six? Need one more 1884 01:46:00,000 --> 01:46:08,240 Speaker 1: Sea tread Well? Seven? Who am I cutting? There's like receivers, 1885 01:46:08,880 --> 01:46:11,919 Speaker 1: but with which guy of any note is being caught Dorsett, 1886 01:46:11,960 --> 01:46:16,479 Speaker 1: Philip Dorset and Tavon Austin. They're both first round picks. Yeah, 1887 01:46:16,520 --> 01:46:20,559 Speaker 1: but they're older and maybe Now here's the thing. If 1888 01:46:20,600 --> 01:46:24,280 Speaker 1: you keep tread well and you keep camp jail and camp, 1889 01:46:25,240 --> 01:46:27,760 Speaker 1: do you get rid of calling Johnson because he doesn't run? 1890 01:46:27,880 --> 01:46:31,200 Speaker 1: And Urban Meyer like speed team and those other guys 1891 01:46:31,240 --> 01:46:34,280 Speaker 1: are big and fast. Colin Johnson is just big and 1892 01:46:34,360 --> 01:46:39,000 Speaker 1: not a speed speed guy. There are six receivers probably 1893 01:46:39,040 --> 01:46:42,639 Speaker 1: on somebody else's roster right now. That could be another thing. Yeah, 1894 01:46:42,800 --> 01:46:46,240 Speaker 1: first waiver claim all that well, JP had him trading 1895 01:46:46,280 --> 01:46:52,519 Speaker 1: for Michael Thomas, which Pete immediately shut down, saying bad idea. 1896 01:46:53,479 --> 01:46:56,640 Speaker 1: First off, you do like speed, he doesn't run, No, 1897 01:46:56,920 --> 01:46:59,840 Speaker 1: he does not, big big guy. Let's get our final 1898 01:47:00,080 --> 01:47:02,840 Speaker 1: question in at Dan eight three eight one. Who got 1899 01:47:02,880 --> 01:47:06,640 Speaker 1: in better shape during the break? Crisco or Bisselly. My 1900 01:47:06,760 --> 01:47:09,400 Speaker 1: money's on the celly because I'm terrible. Yeah, I'm not 1901 01:47:09,560 --> 01:47:13,599 Speaker 1: much better the first. However, I would actually, I would 1902 01:47:13,600 --> 01:47:18,840 Speaker 1: actually see you. It's a tie for last. Yeah, it's not. 1903 01:47:18,920 --> 01:47:20,880 Speaker 1: I'm a Pete. I'm not in a good position because 1904 01:47:20,960 --> 01:47:23,920 Speaker 1: it's it's fat ball season and I'm already fat. Yeah, 1905 01:47:23,960 --> 01:47:26,479 Speaker 1: but you know, what though. I had a lazy summer 1906 01:47:26,800 --> 01:47:28,679 Speaker 1: and I've worked out and stuff. But I ate bad, 1907 01:47:29,240 --> 01:47:31,599 Speaker 1: you know, but I'm trying to be better leading into 1908 01:47:31,640 --> 01:47:33,840 Speaker 1: the season. Give me a month. I got a hole 1909 01:47:33,880 --> 01:47:35,120 Speaker 1: in us to be coming up at the end of 1910 01:47:35,160 --> 01:47:38,120 Speaker 1: the month. Too much information, t M, I t M. 1911 01:47:38,200 --> 01:47:44,040 Speaker 1: I do not need to hear about your medical issues 1912 01:47:44,320 --> 01:47:49,080 Speaker 1: or procedures. A few of the five extra pounds underneath. 1913 01:47:49,479 --> 01:47:53,519 Speaker 1: That's great, Pete. This is a family show. Yeah great, 1914 01:47:55,640 --> 01:48:00,400 Speaker 1: let's come back. Thanks for the questions, every one. We'll 1915 01:48:00,439 --> 01:48:03,960 Speaker 1: get to him again next week. J P. Shadrick Tony was selling Pete Briscoe 1979 01:51:41,240 --> 01:51:44,320 Speaker 1: Joe Fortunato on the audio, Brent Reaver on the video side, 1980 01:51:44,520 --> 01:51:47,280 Speaker 1: Try Padilla. Do you know one thing? I want to yes? 1981 01:51:47,479 --> 01:51:49,960 Speaker 1: What what of one of many things you hate what 1982 01:51:50,040 --> 01:51:52,439 Speaker 1: has want, Well this time here because Pete loves doing it. 1983 01:51:52,640 --> 01:51:55,759 Speaker 1: He loves cutting down the roster, he loves cutting people. 1984 01:51:56,240 --> 01:51:57,680 Speaker 1: You got about eight minutes if you want to do it. 1985 01:51:58,240 --> 01:52:00,320 Speaker 1: I hate it, like even going through the wider sceivers 1986 01:52:00,320 --> 01:52:03,720 Speaker 1: because like like Philip or Set might be the guy 1987 01:52:03,840 --> 01:52:05,920 Speaker 1: that may. I mean, we're sitting here like making guesses. 1988 01:52:06,000 --> 01:52:08,639 Speaker 1: It's not like we're watching enough tape to really determine 1989 01:52:08,680 --> 01:52:11,040 Speaker 1: who's having the better camp, whether it's Philip door said 1990 01:52:11,160 --> 01:52:16,000 Speaker 1: or you know, Colin Johnson or what they're looking for 1991 01:52:16,800 --> 01:52:18,840 Speaker 1: because a lot of times I think they're I think 1992 01:52:18,880 --> 01:52:22,360 Speaker 1: they're there six receivers not on the roster, you know, 1993 01:52:22,439 --> 01:52:24,240 Speaker 1: but but you don't know. And I mean I throughout 1994 01:52:24,280 --> 01:52:26,439 Speaker 1: Jalen camp out there, I'm just assuming that they you know, 1995 01:52:26,520 --> 01:52:29,880 Speaker 1: he's a good specialties player, he looks it, but I 1996 01:52:29,880 --> 01:52:33,679 Speaker 1: haven't watched one special team period. It also shows there's 1997 01:52:33,680 --> 01:52:37,519 Speaker 1: a significant drop from three down. Well, I think I 1998 01:52:37,840 --> 01:52:40,840 Speaker 1: think the message to the fans is and this is, 1999 01:52:41,040 --> 01:52:45,120 Speaker 1: you know, because you know who knows maybe uh Josh Hammond, 2000 01:52:45,120 --> 01:52:48,240 Speaker 1: who had a bunch of catches, maybe he you know, 2001 01:52:49,040 --> 01:52:51,120 Speaker 1: shows up and does something. I mean, who knows. I 2002 01:52:51,200 --> 01:52:53,160 Speaker 1: think the message more than anything. The three guys that 2003 01:52:53,280 --> 01:52:55,519 Speaker 1: we know I would I say, I don't know, I 2004 01:52:55,560 --> 01:53:00,479 Speaker 1: would be really confident are on the roster or d HRC, 2005 01:53:01,000 --> 01:53:06,000 Speaker 1: Marvin Jones and Levis Chanloo. And that's that's it. There's 2006 01:53:06,000 --> 01:53:07,800 Speaker 1: a drop down after and then I think after that 2007 01:53:07,920 --> 01:53:14,200 Speaker 1: it's wide open. Yeah. Travis Travis et N plays wide 2008 01:53:14,200 --> 01:53:17,360 Speaker 1: receiver too. He lines up out there something. He's still 2009 01:53:17,479 --> 01:53:20,320 Speaker 1: running back, I know, but he plays out but it's 2010 01:53:20,320 --> 01:53:22,680 Speaker 1: like he's making some catches the last couple of days. 2011 01:53:22,720 --> 01:53:25,400 Speaker 1: By the way, it's like running back. It's easy. The 2012 01:53:25,479 --> 01:53:27,519 Speaker 1: top three I can tell you. I mean, unless something 2013 01:53:27,640 --> 01:53:30,680 Speaker 1: drastic happens or someone gets hurt, it's Travis e t N. 2014 01:53:30,920 --> 01:53:35,800 Speaker 1: It's Carlos Hyde, it's James Robinson. Pretty easy, tight end, 2015 01:53:35,920 --> 01:53:40,479 Speaker 1: pretty easy. I don't know if Titans is easy. Number one, 2016 01:53:40,520 --> 01:53:42,639 Speaker 1: how many you're keeping four? Because one of them will 2017 01:53:42,640 --> 01:53:49,800 Speaker 1: be the fullback. So if you're keeping four, you're keeping Ohaughnessy, 2018 01:53:51,120 --> 01:53:54,800 Speaker 1: and then who else you keep the rookie Luke Farrell, Yes, 2019 01:53:55,080 --> 01:54:01,479 Speaker 1: and then you'd probably keep Elston and then you you 2020 01:54:01,600 --> 01:54:05,479 Speaker 1: got then it becomes Tyler Davis or Tebow. In the practice, squad, 2021 01:54:08,000 --> 01:54:11,080 Speaker 1: which I think it'll be Tyler Davis. I think Tebow 2022 01:54:11,160 --> 01:54:12,800 Speaker 1: is the six tight end on the at A six. 2023 01:54:16,960 --> 01:54:22,120 Speaker 1: Yeah you disagree, Um do I disagree from what I've seen? No, Okay, 2024 01:54:22,640 --> 01:54:26,479 Speaker 1: so you know, but I mean, but it's still earlier. 2025 01:54:26,560 --> 01:54:28,920 Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much stuff that can happen between now, 2026 01:54:29,360 --> 01:54:33,200 Speaker 1: especially talking about right now. But I think the Jaguars 2027 01:54:33,280 --> 01:54:35,120 Speaker 1: tight end some of the other ones. You know, it's 2028 01:54:35,160 --> 01:54:38,720 Speaker 1: like obvious the Jaguars tight end situation outside of O'Shaughnessy 2029 01:54:38,880 --> 01:54:42,640 Speaker 1: and uh Manners is wide open. It will be decided 2030 01:54:42,720 --> 01:54:45,480 Speaker 1: during the preseason. Kind of seemed like the same kind 2031 01:54:45,520 --> 01:54:50,960 Speaker 1: of guy to me, to be the like you like 2032 01:54:51,040 --> 01:54:53,400 Speaker 1: you talk about Tebow, he's being the six guy. Okay, 2033 01:54:53,640 --> 01:54:55,880 Speaker 1: maybe Now, what if he goes out in games and 2034 01:54:56,000 --> 01:54:59,120 Speaker 1: just like dominates the one thing that you know, he 2035 01:54:59,280 --> 01:55:02,520 Speaker 1: flashes it times good stuff. Then there's other things, like 2036 01:55:02,640 --> 01:55:05,280 Speaker 1: you watch his blocking ability. He needs to work on 2037 01:55:05,360 --> 01:55:08,680 Speaker 1: his physicality, especially if he's gonna be that fullback. Hasn't 2038 01:55:08,720 --> 01:55:10,920 Speaker 1: been great and what I've seen haven't seen it all. 2039 01:55:10,960 --> 01:55:14,360 Speaker 1: So maybe he's flash of the times being really physical. 2040 01:55:14,440 --> 01:55:16,800 Speaker 1: He's not a very physical player at the point of attack. 2041 01:55:17,320 --> 01:55:19,120 Speaker 1: The day I saw him. He they pulled him on 2042 01:55:19,200 --> 01:55:21,280 Speaker 1: a play and he ducked his head and the defensive 2043 01:55:21,360 --> 01:55:23,400 Speaker 1: end went right around them. And so if you want 2044 01:55:23,440 --> 01:55:26,640 Speaker 1: to be that move tight end fullback lead up on 2045 01:55:26,720 --> 01:55:30,120 Speaker 1: there in linebackers, you've gotta be a physical dude. And 2046 01:55:30,680 --> 01:55:34,040 Speaker 1: Jeff Logman said it best. Being physical and tough as 2047 01:55:34,080 --> 01:55:38,880 Speaker 1: a quarterback is different than being physical and tough as 2048 01:55:38,960 --> 01:55:42,000 Speaker 1: a position player like a tight end or full back. Okay, 2049 01:55:42,040 --> 01:55:43,840 Speaker 1: so what number is he as a tight end position? 2050 01:55:43,960 --> 01:55:49,320 Speaker 1: Right now? In your mind? Haven't we just gone through this? Well? 2051 01:55:49,400 --> 01:55:58,200 Speaker 1: He I mean, can you really distinguish between Tebow, Elveson 2052 01:55:58,400 --> 01:56:04,720 Speaker 1: and Davis? Is it that is that big a deal? Yeah, David, 2053 01:56:05,160 --> 01:56:07,560 Speaker 1: I think it's between Davis and Tebow and the practice squad, 2054 01:56:07,680 --> 01:56:09,640 Speaker 1: That's what I mean. It's right now, and then they 2055 01:56:09,720 --> 01:56:11,840 Speaker 1: got three weeks to go, so I think it's early. 2056 01:56:11,960 --> 01:56:14,240 Speaker 1: Like that's still close, Pete, is my point is number one? 2057 01:56:14,280 --> 01:56:17,160 Speaker 1: You know, I hate this more than anything. That's why 2058 01:56:17,240 --> 01:56:21,560 Speaker 1: we do it. Number two, it is early, and like 2059 01:56:21,720 --> 01:56:25,920 Speaker 1: those are really competitive positions. Let's touch on some notes 2060 01:56:25,960 --> 01:56:29,280 Speaker 1: from around the National Football League. Pete, your guy in 2061 01:56:29,520 --> 01:56:35,960 Speaker 1: Buffalo got paid. Quarterback Josh Allen's bringing on the Bacon. Hey, look, 2062 01:56:36,000 --> 01:56:37,920 Speaker 1: they finally have their quarterback that they've been looking for 2063 01:56:38,080 --> 01:56:41,200 Speaker 1: from Jim Colty since Jim Kelly. All kinds of guy. 2064 01:56:42,320 --> 01:56:47,520 Speaker 1: Pat Patrick Mahomes signed one year too early. No, I mean, 2065 01:56:48,360 --> 01:56:51,680 Speaker 1: tear that up again, bird in the hand. I guess 2066 01:56:51,680 --> 01:56:54,160 Speaker 1: here's my point. Did Patrick Mahomes signed too long of 2067 01:56:54,240 --> 01:56:57,960 Speaker 1: a deal? Probably? Yes, Like why wouldn't he just settled, 2068 01:56:58,200 --> 01:57:01,000 Speaker 1: I'll sign a four year deal? Right? He did sign 2069 01:57:01,040 --> 01:57:02,720 Speaker 1: too long a deal. I don't think there's any doubt 2070 01:57:02,720 --> 01:57:04,560 Speaker 1: about that. But how do you turn that money down 2071 01:57:04,600 --> 01:57:08,960 Speaker 1: when they put in front? It depends how much of 2072 01:57:09,040 --> 01:57:12,560 Speaker 1: that back in guaranteed though, Yeah, he got a lot 2073 01:57:12,600 --> 01:57:15,680 Speaker 1: of guaranteed money. Alan got more. You know, also got 2074 01:57:15,720 --> 01:57:17,600 Speaker 1: a lot of money. It was Shawn Watson and John 2075 01:57:17,680 --> 01:57:21,280 Speaker 1: mcclaim of the Houston Chronicle Today said, quote on Twitter, 2076 01:57:21,480 --> 01:57:24,400 Speaker 1: Watson will never play another down for the Texans end quote. 2077 01:57:24,400 --> 01:57:26,880 Speaker 1: So where's he playing? Who's going to trade for him 2078 01:57:26,960 --> 01:57:29,320 Speaker 1: right now? No? But it's it's too big a risk. 2079 01:57:29,440 --> 01:57:33,160 Speaker 1: I mean you can't. I mean there's crimical there's there's 2080 01:57:33,200 --> 01:57:37,000 Speaker 1: a criminal investigation. If I understand the lads reports going on, 2081 01:57:37,600 --> 01:57:40,920 Speaker 1: there's twenty two women who have civil charges against him. 2082 01:57:41,160 --> 01:57:43,480 Speaker 1: I'm not saying he's guilty. I'm just saying that's a 2083 01:57:43,560 --> 01:57:46,040 Speaker 1: lot of drama going on. And if I'm a GM, 2084 01:57:46,440 --> 01:57:50,000 Speaker 1: I'm not trading first round draft picks plus getting up 2085 01:57:50,000 --> 01:57:53,200 Speaker 1: in salary for a guy that might not play for 2086 01:57:53,520 --> 01:57:56,400 Speaker 1: a while. And it's hard to It's hard in this 2087 01:57:56,640 --> 01:57:58,840 Speaker 1: climate and everything. It's hard to sell that to your 2088 01:57:58,880 --> 01:58:03,240 Speaker 1: fan base. You can't Giants running back c Klon Barkley 2089 01:58:03,280 --> 01:58:06,280 Speaker 1: will return from the pup list today.
