We've done one show together. 53 00:02:05,240 --> 00:02:07,680 Speaker 5: I think we have not so if we're doing some 54 00:02:07,760 --> 00:02:09,720 Speaker 5: inside baseball here I was doing the math. I think 55 00:02:09,760 --> 00:02:11,840 Speaker 5: you and I are supposed to do it together four 56 00:02:11,919 --> 00:02:18,360 Speaker 5: times and every time something's come up, including you asking 57 00:02:18,360 --> 00:02:20,160 Speaker 5: me like the day I was proposing to my fiance 58 00:02:20,240 --> 00:02:23,720 Speaker 5: now fiances. Yeah, absolutely, what's the weather today in Vancouver? 95 00:03:53,880 --> 00:03:55,680 Speaker 4: Uh so here's it's good today. 96 00:03:55,720 --> 00:03:58,280 Speaker 5: The weird thing was it was hailing yesterday and then 97 00:03:58,360 --> 00:04:03,440 Speaker 5: suddenly like a to sunshine. So it's it's neurotic, but 98 00:04:03,760 --> 00:04:05,680 Speaker 5: you do what you can. You suffer through like nine 99 00:04:05,680 --> 00:04:08,320 Speaker 5: months of seasonal depression to get those like two three 100 00:04:08,360 --> 00:04:12,000 Speaker 5: months of like I guess we're doing Celsius fairhead. I 101 00:04:12,040 --> 00:04:13,480 Speaker 5: don't know how warm it is for you guys, but 102 00:04:13,520 --> 00:04:15,080 Speaker 5: it's nice. You got two or three good months of 103 00:04:15,080 --> 00:04:15,400 Speaker 5: the year. 104 00:04:16,080 --> 00:04:18,760 Speaker 3: I'm told that when the UFC finally goes there for 105 00:04:18,800 --> 00:04:22,440 Speaker 3: two eighty nine, it'll be in June. I hear Bronz 106 00:04:22,440 --> 00:04:25,119 Speaker 3: Stetter was saying June, and Vancouver is like the bee's knees. 107 00:04:25,160 --> 00:04:25,560 Speaker 4: Is that right? 108 00:04:25,600 --> 00:04:27,840 Speaker 5: It's amazing. It's just it's not too hot, it's not 109 00:04:27,880 --> 00:04:30,440 Speaker 5: too cold, like it's a very like warm, moderate to 110 00:04:30,520 --> 00:04:39,520 Speaker 5: warm temperature twenty minutes to the Oceanically. 111 00:04:36,120 --> 00:04:36,800 Speaker 4: It's only. 112 00:04:39,520 --> 00:04:42,640 Speaker 5: Thing if you like surfing, skiing. Best place other than 113 00:04:42,680 --> 00:04:44,200 Speaker 5: that there's nothing to. 114 00:04:44,240 --> 00:04:46,919 Speaker 3: Two all right, fair enough, By the way, can't you 115 00:04:46,960 --> 00:04:49,000 Speaker 3: go like Worco watching over in Vancouver. 116 00:04:49,600 --> 00:04:53,440 Speaker 4: Sorry, h yeah, probably probably if I've never done it. 117 00:04:53,680 --> 00:04:55,800 Speaker 3: You're just like, yo, fuck blackfish. I don't even like 118 00:04:55,880 --> 00:04:57,320 Speaker 3: that documentary. 119 00:04:58,400 --> 00:04:59,960 Speaker 5: Things, right, like you don't do any of the too 120 00:05:00,320 --> 00:05:01,719 Speaker 5: things when you actually live somewhere. 121 00:05:01,760 --> 00:05:04,640 Speaker 4: But I'm missing out, welcome. I'm working too hard, Luke. 122 00:05:04,800 --> 00:05:06,200 Speaker 4: You know what, Yes, I know, I know. I know. 123 00:05:06,279 --> 00:05:07,400 Speaker 3: When I was your age and I was doing this 124 00:05:07,440 --> 00:05:08,720 Speaker 3: kind of stuff, I didn't have a lot of free 125 00:05:08,720 --> 00:05:10,599 Speaker 3: time either. All right, with that in mind, we do 126 00:05:10,720 --> 00:05:12,640 Speaker 3: have some fights to get to. So let's get started 127 00:05:12,640 --> 00:05:16,239 Speaker 3: here if we can. Topic number one, UFC Kansas City. 128 00:05:16,279 --> 00:05:19,000 Speaker 3: So we talked about this as well, Shaq. I don't 129 00:05:19,000 --> 00:05:22,120 Speaker 3: know if they've released the prices for UFC two eighty 130 00:05:22,160 --> 00:05:22,880 Speaker 3: eight on pre sale. 131 00:05:22,920 --> 00:05:23,720 Speaker 4: Have they done that yet? 132 00:05:24,480 --> 00:05:27,120 Speaker 5: I'm not sure, but I was watching the other episode 133 00:05:27,120 --> 00:05:29,600 Speaker 5: that you did with Aaron, so hey, Minnie, if they 134 00:05:29,640 --> 00:05:31,400 Speaker 5: can turn a profit, they're gonna turn a profit. 135 00:05:31,400 --> 00:05:32,600 Speaker 3: They're gonna turn a profit. But this is one I 136 00:05:32,600 --> 00:05:35,159 Speaker 3: always tell folks. You got Max Holloway and Arnold Allen 137 00:05:35,240 --> 00:05:37,520 Speaker 3: in Kansas City for a fight night card, I'm going 138 00:05:37,520 --> 00:05:39,240 Speaker 3: to imagine that the ticket prices are going to be 139 00:05:39,279 --> 00:05:41,480 Speaker 3: relatively speaking to the pay per view, much more modest 140 00:05:41,480 --> 00:05:45,000 Speaker 3: and price. And that's an a level headliner right there. 141 00:05:45,360 --> 00:05:48,239 Speaker 3: So let's start with the stakes if we can, Shaq, 142 00:05:48,360 --> 00:05:50,120 Speaker 3: what do you think the stakes are? And the reason 143 00:05:50,120 --> 00:05:51,560 Speaker 3: why I asked that is obviously these two guys are 144 00:05:51,640 --> 00:05:54,440 Speaker 3: highly ranked, but it's a little bit unclear as well. 145 00:05:54,480 --> 00:05:57,040 Speaker 3: Now we know Yaiir is going to fight Volkanovski a 146 00:05:57,160 --> 00:05:59,920 Speaker 3: UFC two ninety Okay, fair enough, that will resolve the 147 00:06:00,560 --> 00:06:02,880 Speaker 3: title dispute, as much as one wants to call it that, 148 00:06:02,920 --> 00:06:05,840 Speaker 3: but you know they're gonna fight. This fight seems like 149 00:06:06,000 --> 00:06:09,800 Speaker 3: the winner might get a title shot. But if Lookanowski 150 00:06:09,880 --> 00:06:12,479 Speaker 3: wins and Max wins, are they really gonna do it again? 151 00:06:12,680 --> 00:06:14,680 Speaker 4: Set up for me? In your mind? What's really on 152 00:06:14,720 --> 00:06:17,599 Speaker 4: the line here for the winner? 153 00:06:17,640 --> 00:06:20,719 Speaker 5: For Arnold Allen, it's a little bit more straightforward right 154 00:06:21,760 --> 00:06:24,720 Speaker 5: perfect in the octagon so far, ten straight wins. If 155 00:06:24,760 --> 00:06:26,839 Speaker 5: he beats a guy like Max Holloway, it's sort of 156 00:06:26,839 --> 00:06:30,160 Speaker 5: the big name opponent that's eluded him up to this point, 157 00:06:30,360 --> 00:06:33,000 Speaker 5: and he's right there like it's when you think about 158 00:06:33,000 --> 00:06:36,160 Speaker 5: a guy like balal Mohammed sort of even Benil Daryush, 159 00:06:36,279 --> 00:06:39,240 Speaker 5: the only real knock that you could make against their 160 00:06:39,279 --> 00:06:42,160 Speaker 5: resumes is that they haven't beaten someone in the top 161 00:06:42,279 --> 00:06:47,200 Speaker 5: five or somebody who's a former champion. And that's not 162 00:06:47,240 --> 00:06:49,520 Speaker 5: really an argument you can make. If Arnold Allen beats 163 00:06:49,520 --> 00:06:53,239 Speaker 5: Max Holloway, who for the last what five seven years, 164 00:06:53,279 --> 00:06:53,880 Speaker 5: has been. 165 00:06:56,800 --> 00:06:57,760 Speaker 4: Arnold it's very. 166 00:06:59,279 --> 00:07:01,320 Speaker 3: All right, Hold lets time, let's time out on hand Wet. 167 00:07:01,320 --> 00:07:03,480 Speaker 3: You got some audio issues. Let's clarify that. If you 168 00:07:03,480 --> 00:07:05,080 Speaker 3: could take him off, just put me on full screen 169 00:07:05,080 --> 00:07:07,320 Speaker 3: week we'll fix his issues and I'll set this up. 170 00:07:07,320 --> 00:07:09,400 Speaker 3: While we get that resolved, Let's talk about this for 171 00:07:09,440 --> 00:07:11,280 Speaker 3: just a second. I like everything he was saying there. 172 00:07:11,760 --> 00:07:14,960 Speaker 3: This is a strange one. Now obviously it doesn't matter. Well, okay, 173 00:07:15,000 --> 00:07:17,400 Speaker 3: so there's a couple things in play, first of all, 174 00:07:17,640 --> 00:07:23,160 Speaker 3: between Volkanowski and UFC two ninety and between what could 175 00:07:23,200 --> 00:07:27,320 Speaker 3: happen there. If Yayer wins, they might just do another 176 00:07:27,400 --> 00:07:30,280 Speaker 3: rematch right away. I'm not necessarily in favor of that, 177 00:07:30,680 --> 00:07:32,720 Speaker 3: but it just appears to be something that's a bit. 178 00:07:32,680 --> 00:07:36,000 Speaker 4: Of a problem right where now guys lose. 179 00:07:35,760 --> 00:07:37,640 Speaker 3: And if they're long standing champions, and in the case 180 00:07:37,680 --> 00:07:40,080 Speaker 3: of Volkanofsky, regard it as either one or two pound 181 00:07:40,160 --> 00:07:41,320 Speaker 3: for pound, however you want to put that. 182 00:07:41,400 --> 00:07:43,200 Speaker 4: By most people's account, one. 183 00:07:43,320 --> 00:07:44,960 Speaker 3: You beat the number one pound for pound guy, you're 184 00:07:45,000 --> 00:07:47,200 Speaker 3: probably gonna have to do it twice. 185 00:07:47,720 --> 00:07:48,760 Speaker 4: So there's an issue there. 186 00:07:49,000 --> 00:07:53,240 Speaker 3: Assuming that Volkanovsky wins and Arnold wins, really no issue. 187 00:07:53,240 --> 00:07:56,120 Speaker 3: You would imagine Arnold beating Max Holloway should that happen, 188 00:07:56,320 --> 00:07:59,240 Speaker 3: would move into that position. The bigger issue is what 189 00:07:59,320 --> 00:08:00,960 Speaker 3: do you do if ya wins? Do you do ya 190 00:08:01,040 --> 00:08:03,080 Speaker 3: ear Max two? I suppose you could do that, or 191 00:08:03,120 --> 00:08:06,560 Speaker 3: if Volkanovsky wins, you could do of course you could 192 00:08:06,560 --> 00:08:08,240 Speaker 3: also do yayear versus Arnold if they don't do the 193 00:08:08,240 --> 00:08:11,720 Speaker 3: automatic rematch. But once it gets back to Holloway and Volkanovsky, 194 00:08:11,840 --> 00:08:14,640 Speaker 3: that part, I really really really don't know. I don't 195 00:08:14,720 --> 00:08:17,720 Speaker 3: quite get how that might go. I think if if 196 00:08:18,240 --> 00:08:22,600 Speaker 3: Max turns in a really strong performance, that changes the debate, 197 00:08:22,640 --> 00:08:25,840 Speaker 3: if he eeks to the finish line. I just don't 198 00:08:25,920 --> 00:08:29,120 Speaker 3: know what the situation with that might be. I don't 199 00:08:29,160 --> 00:08:30,720 Speaker 3: understand how they might go there. All right, we got 200 00:08:30,760 --> 00:08:32,040 Speaker 3: shack back shack. How's your sound? 201 00:08:32,080 --> 00:08:34,400 Speaker 4: Now? You be the judge of that? Man, I don't 202 00:08:34,400 --> 00:08:35,080 Speaker 4: know what's going on. 203 00:08:35,320 --> 00:08:37,120 Speaker 3: Sounds good? It sounds good, all right, So what do 204 00:08:37,200 --> 00:08:39,400 Speaker 3: you make of my assessment? Obviously, so there's two parts 205 00:08:39,440 --> 00:08:41,880 Speaker 3: of this, right, If ya ear wins, do you think 206 00:08:41,880 --> 00:08:44,560 Speaker 3: they do an automatic rematch? And on the other side 207 00:08:44,559 --> 00:08:46,320 Speaker 3: of the case, what do they do if Max wins? 208 00:08:46,880 --> 00:08:47,400 Speaker 4: Either way? 209 00:08:47,960 --> 00:08:50,800 Speaker 5: Yeah, I think obviously from Max, kind of like with 210 00:08:50,920 --> 00:08:53,840 Speaker 5: Robert Whittaker, his best case scenario is if you get 211 00:08:53,840 --> 00:08:57,800 Speaker 5: the title off of Volkosk. Because it's not only that 212 00:08:58,040 --> 00:09:01,760 Speaker 5: he's lost three times to Alexander Volkanowski at this point, 213 00:09:01,800 --> 00:09:04,400 Speaker 5: the bigger cruxy, the bigger issue is that the last 214 00:09:04,400 --> 00:09:07,600 Speaker 5: fight was by far the most decisive loss. Like at 215 00:09:07,679 --> 00:09:11,040 Speaker 5: least with Robert Whittaker, you can say that so much 216 00:09:11,080 --> 00:09:13,360 Speaker 5: better in the second fight against Izzy than he did 217 00:09:13,360 --> 00:09:16,920 Speaker 5: in the first. Max, I think is having a bit 218 00:09:16,920 --> 00:09:19,400 Speaker 5: of an identity crisis. And I'm sure he doesn't feel 219 00:09:19,440 --> 00:09:21,800 Speaker 5: that way, but what I mean is, for so long 220 00:09:21,920 --> 00:09:23,280 Speaker 5: he's been either the one. 221 00:09:29,440 --> 00:09:31,640 Speaker 3: We're having more audio issues. Let's see if we can 222 00:09:31,679 --> 00:09:33,360 Speaker 3: get things set up here for just a second. If 223 00:09:33,360 --> 00:09:35,240 Speaker 3: we can't, let's take him off. Hold on one second, check, 224 00:09:35,400 --> 00:09:37,400 Speaker 3: let's take him off. Well, let's try one more time. 225 00:09:37,400 --> 00:09:38,920 Speaker 3: You might have to restart your computer or something I'm 226 00:09:38,960 --> 00:09:41,079 Speaker 3: not sure what the issue is. We'll get it solved here. 227 00:09:41,320 --> 00:09:43,400 Speaker 3: Don't worry, folks, We're gonna fix it. It wouldn't be 228 00:09:43,440 --> 00:09:47,439 Speaker 3: a show without Hey, at least it's not me. At 229 00:09:47,520 --> 00:09:50,840 Speaker 3: least it's not me. Let's go a little further with 230 00:09:50,840 --> 00:09:54,959 Speaker 3: this if we can. He mentioned that the last fight 231 00:09:55,120 --> 00:09:57,840 Speaker 3: was the most decisive, which would be a contrast between 232 00:09:58,240 --> 00:10:00,960 Speaker 3: Izzy and Whittaker. Isy Whitaker might do a third fight. 233 00:10:01,000 --> 00:10:03,120 Speaker 3: We don't really know how things are gonna go at 234 00:10:03,160 --> 00:10:05,640 Speaker 3: middleweight now that Izzy has regained the title. But to 235 00:10:05,640 --> 00:10:09,839 Speaker 3: his point, first one between those meetings, Isy won very decisively, 236 00:10:09,880 --> 00:10:12,880 Speaker 3: stopping him. In the second fight, some folks think Whitaker 237 00:10:12,920 --> 00:10:18,080 Speaker 3: won It's debatable, but is he got his hand raised. 238 00:10:18,080 --> 00:10:20,320 Speaker 3: But you can see he got much better between the two, 239 00:10:20,760 --> 00:10:23,880 Speaker 3: like significantly better. In Vittori got better, I guess, but 240 00:10:23,920 --> 00:10:27,240 Speaker 3: it wasn't really close, Like it didn't meaningfully change with 241 00:10:27,360 --> 00:10:31,240 Speaker 3: the Volkanovsky and Holloway side, it got a lot worse. 242 00:10:31,240 --> 00:10:33,200 Speaker 3: So let me pull up the numbers from that if 243 00:10:33,240 --> 00:10:34,960 Speaker 3: I may, because I think that really tells the story. 244 00:10:35,120 --> 00:10:38,040 Speaker 3: Halloway with a record of twenty three and seven, so 245 00:10:38,120 --> 00:10:43,160 Speaker 3: in the last contest, Volkanovsky landed one hundred and ninety 246 00:10:43,240 --> 00:10:47,319 Speaker 3: nine significant strikes in their meeting. Before that, he landed 247 00:10:47,320 --> 00:10:48,960 Speaker 3: one hundred and thirty seven in the first one, one 248 00:10:49,080 --> 00:10:50,439 Speaker 3: fifty seven, so he went high. 249 00:10:50,760 --> 00:10:51,760 Speaker 4: Then it got a little bit lower. 250 00:10:51,760 --> 00:10:53,360 Speaker 3: Most people think the second fight is the one where 251 00:10:53,400 --> 00:10:55,679 Speaker 3: Max did the best, but then the last one he 252 00:10:55,800 --> 00:10:58,559 Speaker 3: just whooped up on him. Now, Holloway landed a record 253 00:10:58,559 --> 00:11:02,559 Speaker 3: amount to relative to his fights with Volkanowski, landing won 254 00:11:02,600 --> 00:11:05,360 Speaker 3: twenty seven in the third contest. He landed one hundred 255 00:11:05,400 --> 00:11:07,400 Speaker 3: and two in the second, one hundred and thirty four. Actually, 256 00:11:07,480 --> 00:11:09,360 Speaker 3: so the first was the most Y ever landed. The 257 00:11:09,400 --> 00:11:12,920 Speaker 3: last was the second most. But those are significant strikes, 258 00:11:12,960 --> 00:11:15,120 Speaker 3: and then there are significant strikes he got whooped up 259 00:11:15,160 --> 00:11:19,040 Speaker 3: on in that contest, fifty forty five's across the board, 260 00:11:19,080 --> 00:11:21,599 Speaker 3: first of all, which makes it unusual. Holloway zero for 261 00:11:21,720 --> 00:11:27,120 Speaker 3: three on takedowns. Volkanowski attempting three hundred and seventy seven 262 00:11:27,880 --> 00:11:31,240 Speaker 3: three hundred and seventy seven total strikes, landing two hundred 263 00:11:31,280 --> 00:11:35,280 Speaker 3: and four of which one hundred and nine were significant. 264 00:11:36,160 --> 00:11:38,440 Speaker 3: And let's see his numbers over time. Yeah, listen to this. 265 00:11:38,760 --> 00:11:41,360 Speaker 3: Volkanowski in round one twenty eight and round two thirty 266 00:11:41,360 --> 00:11:44,240 Speaker 3: seven and round three forty, in round four forty four, 267 00:11:44,280 --> 00:11:49,680 Speaker 3: in round five fifty fifty. It got worse as it 268 00:11:49,760 --> 00:11:51,880 Speaker 3: went along, not just from the first of the third 269 00:11:51,920 --> 00:11:58,880 Speaker 3: fight accumulatively, but over the rounds, over the rounds as well. 270 00:11:59,320 --> 00:12:03,200 Speaker 3: So it makes the case for him just just much 271 00:12:03,240 --> 00:12:05,200 Speaker 3: more difficult. Which this is something I want to get 272 00:12:05,200 --> 00:12:06,880 Speaker 3: into when we bring shack and we'll talk about it. 273 00:12:07,520 --> 00:12:10,120 Speaker 3: This is to me when I think about like the 274 00:12:10,160 --> 00:12:14,640 Speaker 3: most important questions related to Max Holloway versus Arnold Allen. 275 00:12:15,160 --> 00:12:17,320 Speaker 3: I can look at their matchup preview here on fight Metric, 276 00:12:17,360 --> 00:12:18,800 Speaker 3: which I can pull with just a second, and I'll 277 00:12:18,840 --> 00:12:21,440 Speaker 3: tell you about the big part to me is how 278 00:12:21,520 --> 00:12:24,000 Speaker 3: much Max gets hit and how much he has been hit. 279 00:12:24,120 --> 00:12:26,079 Speaker 3: So if you look at their strikes landed per minut 280 00:12:26,080 --> 00:12:28,680 Speaker 3: it Max is high seven point twenty four. That's just 281 00:12:28,760 --> 00:12:31,280 Speaker 3: extremely high. That's a very high level of output, which 282 00:12:31,280 --> 00:12:33,199 Speaker 3: I want to talk about as well. Just three point 283 00:12:33,240 --> 00:12:36,240 Speaker 3: four to zero for Arnold Allen at average or below 284 00:12:36,280 --> 00:12:38,679 Speaker 3: for a ranked fighter, just not have a high output 285 00:12:39,720 --> 00:12:43,240 Speaker 3: strikes obsord permitted four point eight nine for Max Holloway, 286 00:12:43,280 --> 00:12:46,360 Speaker 3: two point twenty five for Arnold Allen. So Arnold Allen 287 00:12:46,440 --> 00:12:49,120 Speaker 3: doesn't throw a lot of punches, doesn't get hit a lot. 288 00:12:49,280 --> 00:12:52,160 Speaker 3: He's very judicious and likes to have a more even 289 00:12:52,280 --> 00:12:55,880 Speaker 3: keeled pace. Max Holloway is basically the opposite of that. 290 00:12:56,040 --> 00:12:59,600 Speaker 3: He has a much higher intensity, a much higher volume 291 00:13:00,240 --> 00:13:03,840 Speaker 3: fight notwithstanding, and it increases for him usually typically over 292 00:13:03,880 --> 00:13:07,840 Speaker 3: time as well. He just couldn't get that going against 293 00:13:08,520 --> 00:13:09,680 Speaker 3: against Volkanovsky. 294 00:13:10,040 --> 00:13:11,440 Speaker 4: So here's what the question is for me. 295 00:13:11,520 --> 00:13:15,000 Speaker 3: The two big questions are, Number one, what kind of 296 00:13:15,000 --> 00:13:16,040 Speaker 3: Max Holloway. 297 00:13:15,640 --> 00:13:17,480 Speaker 4: Are we going to get? Right? 298 00:13:17,720 --> 00:13:20,760 Speaker 3: Not just that we have this statistical data to break 299 00:13:20,800 --> 00:13:23,679 Speaker 3: up to buttress the point that he gets hit a lot, 300 00:13:23,679 --> 00:13:26,920 Speaker 3: which he does, but the amount of damage he's taken 301 00:13:27,360 --> 00:13:29,720 Speaker 3: has been, in my mind extraordinary. I mean, even in 302 00:13:29,720 --> 00:13:33,679 Speaker 3: my last interview with him prior to his third Volkanovski fight, 303 00:13:33,679 --> 00:13:35,160 Speaker 3: it was something I raised with him. He seemed to 304 00:13:35,160 --> 00:13:37,480 Speaker 3: think that it was not the biggest issue in the world. 305 00:13:37,600 --> 00:13:39,439 Speaker 3: He recognized it as a bit of a problem, it seemed, 306 00:13:39,480 --> 00:13:42,560 Speaker 3: but not an imminent one, not a right now one, 307 00:13:42,600 --> 00:13:45,240 Speaker 3: not one that he feels like he's slowing him down. 308 00:13:46,120 --> 00:13:48,240 Speaker 3: Whether or not that played a role in the Volkanovsky 309 00:13:48,240 --> 00:13:50,440 Speaker 3: fight itself, I guess we'll see in this one. 310 00:13:50,480 --> 00:13:51,560 Speaker 4: It's really hard to say. 311 00:13:51,600 --> 00:13:53,640 Speaker 3: I mean, he could have either been suffering from that 312 00:13:53,679 --> 00:13:56,280 Speaker 3: before that fight, or that fight could have made it worse, right, 313 00:13:56,320 --> 00:13:57,880 Speaker 3: because he did take a bit of a beating in 314 00:13:57,920 --> 00:14:01,920 Speaker 3: that one. So that's question number one. But question number 315 00:14:01,960 --> 00:14:04,800 Speaker 3: two is if you get Max even remotely like the 316 00:14:04,800 --> 00:14:09,080 Speaker 3: one we got, you know, a couple of years ago 317 00:14:09,240 --> 00:14:10,640 Speaker 3: or something something like that. 318 00:14:11,720 --> 00:14:13,040 Speaker 4: He guess the one in twenty twenty one and. 319 00:14:12,960 --> 00:14:16,760 Speaker 3: Fought Yeah here, if you get that one, what is 320 00:14:16,880 --> 00:14:20,760 Speaker 3: Arnold Allen gonna do when, or if I should say, 321 00:14:21,400 --> 00:14:24,600 Speaker 3: Holloway is moving downhill on him, how do we do 322 00:14:24,640 --> 00:14:28,880 Speaker 3: that when he's moving hardcore into his space where he's 323 00:14:28,960 --> 00:14:33,600 Speaker 3: beginning to put punches together, combinations together, and a guy 324 00:14:33,720 --> 00:14:37,040 Speaker 3: like Arnold can't get the takedown because bexs always take 325 00:14:37,040 --> 00:14:40,240 Speaker 3: down defense has historically been excellent. And on the other 326 00:14:40,280 --> 00:14:44,120 Speaker 3: side of things, he's forcing Arnold to fight in a 327 00:14:44,120 --> 00:14:46,880 Speaker 3: way that he was simply unprepared for or is stylistically 328 00:14:46,960 --> 00:14:49,880 Speaker 3: not suited for. Remember it's not just that, I mean, 329 00:14:49,880 --> 00:14:52,720 Speaker 3: these numbers are not by accident in the accumulative sense. 330 00:14:52,800 --> 00:14:56,000 Speaker 3: He likes a judicious not a super slow pace, but 331 00:14:56,800 --> 00:14:58,760 Speaker 3: not the kind of pace that Max Holloway put on 332 00:14:58,800 --> 00:15:02,360 Speaker 3: Calvin Cator or somebody. So that requires a gap in 333 00:15:02,480 --> 00:15:04,880 Speaker 3: skill in that particular dimension, which I don't really know if. 334 00:15:04,800 --> 00:15:06,280 Speaker 4: We're going to have or not. We'll have to see. 335 00:15:06,840 --> 00:15:10,320 Speaker 3: But that's the part I'm curious about is can number one, 336 00:15:10,720 --> 00:15:12,480 Speaker 3: What kind of Max Holloway are we going to get 337 00:15:13,000 --> 00:15:14,680 Speaker 3: right from all of the damage? 338 00:15:15,200 --> 00:15:15,600 Speaker 4: What is he? 339 00:15:16,840 --> 00:15:19,680 Speaker 3: What state is he in? And if he is in 340 00:15:19,720 --> 00:15:22,920 Speaker 3: any kind of a good state. Can his typical volume 341 00:15:23,000 --> 00:15:26,240 Speaker 3: style and not super high pressure but pretty high pressure? 342 00:15:27,160 --> 00:15:28,560 Speaker 4: What does that do to. 343 00:15:28,400 --> 00:15:32,080 Speaker 3: Pull Arnold Allen out of his normal style? Can he 344 00:15:32,080 --> 00:15:35,800 Speaker 3: accommodate that? Or can he slow down Max to get 345 00:15:35,840 --> 00:15:38,560 Speaker 3: more of an even keeled, slower pace fight that he 346 00:15:38,640 --> 00:15:41,440 Speaker 3: tends to prefer. These are the biggest questions for me. 347 00:15:41,680 --> 00:15:43,320 Speaker 3: Now I want to bring up one more point if 348 00:15:43,360 --> 00:15:45,600 Speaker 3: I can, let me pull up some more information about 349 00:15:45,640 --> 00:15:48,680 Speaker 3: Max Holloway that I think is a relevant portion of 350 00:15:48,680 --> 00:15:50,760 Speaker 3: the conversation that we need to have as well. 351 00:15:51,440 --> 00:15:53,640 Speaker 4: So how old is Max Holloway? He currently? He was 352 00:15:53,680 --> 00:15:54,400 Speaker 4: born in ninety one. 353 00:15:54,480 --> 00:15:57,280 Speaker 3: I was in a fifth grade in nineteen ninety one. 354 00:15:57,880 --> 00:16:00,640 Speaker 3: He is now thirty one years of age. You turn 355 00:16:00,720 --> 00:16:04,720 Speaker 3: thirty one in December. Now, thirty one is not supposed 356 00:16:04,720 --> 00:16:08,520 Speaker 3: to be old, not supposed to be old. In fact, 357 00:16:08,520 --> 00:16:10,920 Speaker 3: for many people we've talked about this, you get certain 358 00:16:10,960 --> 00:16:13,400 Speaker 3: guys who don't really hit their MMA prime until actually 359 00:16:13,400 --> 00:16:17,280 Speaker 3: far later than this in certain cases. But I don't 360 00:16:17,320 --> 00:16:21,600 Speaker 3: know if that's the case with Max Holloway. Now people 361 00:16:21,720 --> 00:16:24,640 Speaker 3: like to say that there is no such thing as 362 00:16:24,680 --> 00:16:29,160 Speaker 3: a prime in combat sports, like it's just a absurd notion, 363 00:16:29,280 --> 00:16:33,400 Speaker 3: and they're not totally wrong, right, because when you have 364 00:16:33,480 --> 00:16:39,640 Speaker 3: other sports that are based upon certain life benchmarks or 365 00:16:39,680 --> 00:16:40,800 Speaker 3: in certain life order. 366 00:16:40,920 --> 00:16:41,000 Speaker 1: Right. 367 00:16:41,160 --> 00:16:42,680 Speaker 3: For example, if you want to play in the NFL 368 00:16:42,680 --> 00:16:44,960 Speaker 3: in America, you go through high school to you're about 369 00:16:44,960 --> 00:16:47,480 Speaker 3: age eighteen. Some guys go to the draft early, but 370 00:16:47,480 --> 00:16:49,240 Speaker 3: basically you're going to be twenty twenty one. We're usually 371 00:16:49,280 --> 00:16:51,560 Speaker 3: twenty two by the time you draft. So there's that 372 00:16:51,680 --> 00:16:54,480 Speaker 3: up until eighteen. There's roughly the four years of college 373 00:16:54,920 --> 00:16:56,920 Speaker 3: you're on a rookie deal after that, and then you 374 00:16:56,960 --> 00:16:59,040 Speaker 3: get going and there's all these marks where you can 375 00:16:59,120 --> 00:17:01,000 Speaker 3: kind of tell someone's going to be good enough by then, 376 00:17:01,200 --> 00:17:03,600 Speaker 3: how much damage they've taken. And yes, even in those sports, 377 00:17:03,640 --> 00:17:06,880 Speaker 3: which by the way, also operate on calendar cycles, right, 378 00:17:06,880 --> 00:17:08,800 Speaker 3: so they have much more time off, they have time 379 00:17:08,840 --> 00:17:11,760 Speaker 3: to rest, they have you know, only there's only what 380 00:17:11,920 --> 00:17:15,320 Speaker 3: sixteen seventeen games in an NFL schedule. Everything happens on 381 00:17:15,359 --> 00:17:20,120 Speaker 3: a much more ordered sequential basis. Combat sports is really 382 00:17:20,119 --> 00:17:21,920 Speaker 3: not like that. You go to the UFC when you're ready, 383 00:17:21,920 --> 00:17:25,240 Speaker 3: whether it's age eighteen, whether it's age twenty five, something 384 00:17:25,320 --> 00:17:29,760 Speaker 3: like that. He got his start, Max Holloway. So remember 385 00:17:30,160 --> 00:17:32,960 Speaker 3: he's thirty one now. He got his start in terms 386 00:17:32,960 --> 00:17:36,280 Speaker 3: of his pro debut back in twenty ten. So let's see, 387 00:17:36,280 --> 00:17:40,000 Speaker 3: that was thirteen years ago, so we're talking. Was he 388 00:17:40,080 --> 00:17:42,760 Speaker 3: twenty six at the time or was my math doing 389 00:17:42,960 --> 00:17:44,000 Speaker 3: twenty eight I think at the time. 390 00:17:44,040 --> 00:17:44,760 Speaker 4: No, what am I doing? 391 00:17:45,359 --> 00:17:47,639 Speaker 3: I'm talking about my own age. Jesus, he was what 392 00:17:47,720 --> 00:17:51,040 Speaker 3: eighteen or nineteen at that time when he made his 393 00:17:51,080 --> 00:17:53,000 Speaker 3: pro debut. Jesus Christ, My math is all messed up 394 00:17:53,040 --> 00:17:54,720 Speaker 3: on that one. But you get the idea, who's a teenager, 395 00:17:54,840 --> 00:17:57,399 Speaker 3: maybe twenty, you know, nineteen, I think eighteen or nineteen 396 00:17:57,440 --> 00:17:58,840 Speaker 3: when he made his pro debut. 397 00:17:59,240 --> 00:18:00,160 Speaker 4: He fought in the uf. 398 00:18:00,280 --> 00:18:03,480 Speaker 3: In his fifth contest, which was in twenty twelve, so 399 00:18:03,480 --> 00:18:05,159 Speaker 3: two years later, so yeah, he's about twenty when he 400 00:18:05,200 --> 00:18:07,680 Speaker 3: made his UFC debut or twenty one, give her take. 401 00:18:09,480 --> 00:18:12,679 Speaker 3: You know, he's been his entire twenties. He spent basically 402 00:18:12,760 --> 00:18:16,359 Speaker 3: in the UFC. Basically basically he's been in the UFC. 403 00:18:16,880 --> 00:18:18,760 Speaker 3: Listen to these names as we go through them. I 404 00:18:18,880 --> 00:18:21,520 Speaker 3: just I just want to point this out. Pat excuse me. 405 00:18:21,600 --> 00:18:26,240 Speaker 3: Dustin Poarier was his UFC debut, Pat Shilling, Justin Lawrence, 406 00:18:26,240 --> 00:18:28,320 Speaker 3: who at the time was a top prospect, Leondard Garcia, 407 00:18:28,359 --> 00:18:31,920 Speaker 3: Dennis Bermudez, Connor McGregor in his tenth fight, Will Choke, 408 00:18:32,040 --> 00:18:36,680 Speaker 3: Andre Feeley, Clay Collar, Dakira Korsani who was a stand 409 00:18:36,800 --> 00:18:38,800 Speaker 3: up for The Ultimate Fighter for a time, Cole Miller, 410 00:18:38,800 --> 00:18:41,480 Speaker 3: a very good fighter out of Georgia, Cub Swanson, Charles 411 00:18:41,480 --> 00:18:45,600 Speaker 3: Olavera who we beat, Jeremy Stevens, Ricardo Lamis, Anthony Pettis, 412 00:18:45,720 --> 00:18:49,400 Speaker 3: Josealdo back to back, Brian Ortega, Dustin Poarier again at 413 00:18:49,400 --> 00:18:52,880 Speaker 3: one fifty five, Frankie Edgar two fights with Volkanowski, Cater 414 00:18:53,119 --> 00:18:58,520 Speaker 3: Rodriguez and Volkanowski Folks. That is an insane amount of 415 00:18:58,600 --> 00:19:02,760 Speaker 3: mileage and difficulty, so to me, I don't know when 416 00:19:03,720 --> 00:19:06,720 Speaker 3: I don't know when his career Max Holloway will be over. 417 00:19:07,200 --> 00:19:11,480 Speaker 3: I don't know what we're going to get on Saturday. 418 00:19:11,520 --> 00:19:13,840 Speaker 3: I don't really none of us have clean answers to 419 00:19:13,840 --> 00:19:16,280 Speaker 3: this stuff. And I know he changed management during his 420 00:19:16,359 --> 00:19:18,679 Speaker 3: off time, so between the last fight and today he 421 00:19:18,760 --> 00:19:19,640 Speaker 3: has a new manager. 422 00:19:21,080 --> 00:19:21,840 Speaker 4: I don't think there was an. 423 00:19:21,840 --> 00:19:23,239 Speaker 3: Ugly falling out or anything, but I think they were 424 00:19:23,240 --> 00:19:28,239 Speaker 3: going in separate directions. And it's just a There is 425 00:19:28,280 --> 00:19:30,359 Speaker 3: such a thing as a prime in nima or in 426 00:19:30,400 --> 00:19:35,360 Speaker 3: combat sports, but it can start, change, or end in 427 00:19:36,000 --> 00:19:40,399 Speaker 3: wildly different circumstances based on each fighter's weight class, how 428 00:19:40,440 --> 00:19:44,240 Speaker 3: young they started, how young they started in UFC, what 429 00:19:44,400 --> 00:19:46,560 Speaker 3: kind of fights they had. So with that in mind, 430 00:19:46,600 --> 00:19:48,119 Speaker 3: let's bring in Shack one more time. Let's see we 431 00:19:48,160 --> 00:19:49,679 Speaker 3: can get this going here. I think we got a 432 00:19:49,720 --> 00:19:53,480 Speaker 3: decent shot here. All right, Check how you sound? Can 433 00:19:53,560 --> 00:19:54,600 Speaker 3: you hear me right now? 434 00:19:54,960 --> 00:19:55,480 Speaker 4: I can hear you? 435 00:19:55,640 --> 00:19:58,960 Speaker 5: You sound I cutting out at all during this conversation? 436 00:19:59,119 --> 00:19:59,479 Speaker 4: Okay? 437 00:19:59,520 --> 00:20:00,960 Speaker 5: You know what, I I know a lot of people 438 00:20:01,000 --> 00:20:04,040 Speaker 5: give you guys crap for this. I'd never have audio 439 00:20:04,119 --> 00:20:06,880 Speaker 5: issues when I'm doing my own thing. You know, when 440 00:20:06,920 --> 00:20:08,720 Speaker 5: you do your own thing, usually I think. 441 00:20:08,600 --> 00:20:09,399 Speaker 4: It's just a curse. 442 00:20:09,480 --> 00:20:11,720 Speaker 5: I think there's some higher power or some sort of 443 00:20:11,760 --> 00:20:14,280 Speaker 5: evil presence. I don't believe in that stuff, but I 444 00:20:14,320 --> 00:20:14,840 Speaker 5: do today. 445 00:20:15,280 --> 00:20:16,200 Speaker 4: You might have to today. 446 00:20:16,240 --> 00:20:17,760 Speaker 3: All right, But let's get to my point here and 447 00:20:17,800 --> 00:20:20,720 Speaker 3: we'll backtrack a little bit. But starting here, Max Holloway 448 00:20:20,720 --> 00:20:24,240 Speaker 3: turned thirty one in December, So in thirty one you'd 449 00:20:24,280 --> 00:20:26,440 Speaker 3: be like, well, that's not that old. But Max started again. 450 00:20:26,560 --> 00:20:29,080 Speaker 3: I did some of the math poorly on air, roughly 451 00:20:29,080 --> 00:20:30,560 Speaker 3: twenty years old. We went to the UFC in roughly 452 00:20:30,560 --> 00:20:33,600 Speaker 3: eighteen or nineteen when he started in pro mma. All 453 00:20:33,640 --> 00:20:35,800 Speaker 3: of that time in his twenties in the UFC against 454 00:20:35,880 --> 00:20:40,520 Speaker 3: a murderer's row the entire time. He's a very old 455 00:20:40,600 --> 00:20:41,840 Speaker 3: thirty one true or false? 456 00:20:42,240 --> 00:20:43,600 Speaker 4: Oh, absolutely true? 457 00:20:43,640 --> 00:20:45,639 Speaker 5: And I think it makes it all the more remarkable 458 00:20:45,720 --> 00:20:49,199 Speaker 5: that outside of title fights, the fights of Volkanovsky, as 459 00:20:49,240 --> 00:20:52,320 Speaker 5: well as the Dustin Porrier fight up a division, he 460 00:20:52,440 --> 00:20:55,720 Speaker 5: hasn't lost since the twenty thirteen Connor McGregor beat him 461 00:20:55,760 --> 00:21:00,920 Speaker 5: like it is remarkable how consistent, how dominant in many 462 00:21:00,960 --> 00:21:04,040 Speaker 5: cases he's been for such a long time against the 463 00:21:04,200 --> 00:21:06,399 Speaker 5: very very best. And that's sort of what I was 464 00:21:06,440 --> 00:21:09,600 Speaker 5: trying to get to before the NK God sort of interfered. 465 00:21:09,720 --> 00:21:13,879 Speaker 5: Is he's been the one A or the one B 466 00:21:14,200 --> 00:21:17,159 Speaker 5: at featherweight for so long that if he continues to 467 00:21:17,200 --> 00:21:21,440 Speaker 5: get gridlocked out of the title picture because Volkanowski continues 468 00:21:21,480 --> 00:21:27,000 Speaker 5: to win, what's his primary motivating factor driving force? 469 00:21:27,160 --> 00:21:30,080 Speaker 4: Right? It was a conversation that I had with Sean. 470 00:21:29,840 --> 00:21:33,360 Speaker 5: She And ahead of Anderson Silva's fight against Aryah Hall, 471 00:21:33,520 --> 00:21:36,760 Speaker 5: and we were kind of talking about retirement. Not to 472 00:21:36,800 --> 00:21:39,800 Speaker 5: suggest that Max needs to retire furthest thing from that, 473 00:21:39,960 --> 00:21:42,520 Speaker 5: but when I asked what's the right time for a 474 00:21:42,560 --> 00:21:47,479 Speaker 5: fighter to retire, Sean said, what is that fighter's purpose 475 00:21:47,520 --> 00:21:51,040 Speaker 5: for competing? And can he still get it done? Max 476 00:21:51,040 --> 00:21:53,760 Speaker 5: Holloway could certainly be the champion right now if it 477 00:21:53,760 --> 00:21:56,879 Speaker 5: weren't for Volkanovski. But if Max can't get back to 478 00:21:56,920 --> 00:21:59,400 Speaker 5: the title as a matter of circumstance for the next 479 00:21:59,400 --> 00:22:02,560 Speaker 5: several years, what's his purpose for fighting? That's what I 480 00:22:02,600 --> 00:22:06,199 Speaker 5: really want to see tonight on Saturday. U, what is 481 00:22:06,240 --> 00:22:07,359 Speaker 5: your gut? 482 00:22:07,400 --> 00:22:09,960 Speaker 3: Tell you about what kind of Max Hollowy We're gonna 483 00:22:09,960 --> 00:22:10,879 Speaker 3: get just your gut. 484 00:22:13,720 --> 00:22:15,320 Speaker 4: I think it's fair to say that. 485 00:22:16,880 --> 00:22:19,239 Speaker 5: The division is beginning to catch up to him, or 486 00:22:19,280 --> 00:22:22,760 Speaker 5: that maybe he's sort of starting to tap down taper 487 00:22:22,800 --> 00:22:23,800 Speaker 5: off of the peak. 488 00:22:25,000 --> 00:22:26,720 Speaker 4: But I'm not ready to count him out yet. 489 00:22:26,720 --> 00:22:30,840 Speaker 5: You know, he is statistically the most active striker in 490 00:22:31,640 --> 00:22:34,119 Speaker 5: UFC by a country mile. I mean, I have the 491 00:22:34,160 --> 00:22:36,680 Speaker 5: stats somewhere here, if I can pull it up, two 492 00:22:37,200 --> 00:22:40,800 Speaker 5: nine hundred and seventy five strikes landed. The next closest 493 00:22:40,840 --> 00:22:43,000 Speaker 5: is Frankie Edgar at eighteen oh one, and three of 494 00:22:43,040 --> 00:22:45,840 Speaker 5: the top five have retired, so he's just going to 495 00:22:45,920 --> 00:22:51,879 Speaker 5: keep building that. And I think as a fan, I 496 00:22:51,920 --> 00:22:54,560 Speaker 5: don't want to say that Max Alloway is over the hill, 497 00:22:54,600 --> 00:22:57,200 Speaker 5: and he's not like he'd just be Yaya Rodriguez, right, 498 00:22:57,400 --> 00:22:57,840 Speaker 5: And we know. 499 00:22:57,880 --> 00:23:01,320 Speaker 3: That was twenty twenty one, that was twenty twenty three, 500 00:23:01,440 --> 00:23:03,399 Speaker 3: So I guess we'll have to see how much people 501 00:23:03,440 --> 00:23:04,320 Speaker 3: decline over time. 502 00:23:04,359 --> 00:23:06,800 Speaker 5: But I'm not ready to count him out yet. I 503 00:23:06,800 --> 00:23:08,760 Speaker 5: think I think this Saturday is going to answer all 504 00:23:08,760 --> 00:23:12,480 Speaker 5: these questions that we have. I'm still pulling for Holloway 505 00:23:12,480 --> 00:23:14,800 Speaker 5: in this one. I don't think we've seen Arnold Allen 506 00:23:14,880 --> 00:23:18,360 Speaker 5: have a clean win over a very top level guy. 507 00:23:18,400 --> 00:23:20,879 Speaker 5: The Calvin Cator fight, as a matter of injury, was 508 00:23:21,480 --> 00:23:25,479 Speaker 5: a little inconclusive. He looked great, but we don't know 509 00:23:26,280 --> 00:23:29,679 Speaker 5: how high Arnold Allen's ceiling is, in part because of 510 00:23:29,720 --> 00:23:32,680 Speaker 5: his inactivity. Right on average, he's fought like one point 511 00:23:32,720 --> 00:23:35,439 Speaker 5: four times a year, ten fights over seven years, so 512 00:23:36,600 --> 00:23:39,440 Speaker 5: this is his proving ground. And I just think Max 513 00:23:39,440 --> 00:23:41,000 Speaker 5: Halloway has been too good for too. 514 00:23:40,840 --> 00:23:43,800 Speaker 3: Long to count him out quite yet. I think that's fair. 515 00:23:44,160 --> 00:23:45,840 Speaker 3: Wouldn't want to count him out. Don't want to be 516 00:23:45,880 --> 00:23:47,960 Speaker 3: in that space. What about the other idea that I've 517 00:23:47,960 --> 00:23:49,840 Speaker 3: brought up? So to me, like the big one is 518 00:23:49,880 --> 00:23:51,399 Speaker 3: just I mean, the biggest question is what kind of 519 00:23:51,400 --> 00:23:52,439 Speaker 3: Max Holloway are we going to get? 520 00:23:52,520 --> 00:23:53,720 Speaker 4: Right, That's the number one question. 521 00:23:54,359 --> 00:23:57,159 Speaker 3: But I'm not so much concerned about what kind of 522 00:23:57,280 --> 00:23:58,959 Speaker 3: Arnold Allen we're going to get. I think we're going 523 00:23:59,000 --> 00:24:01,080 Speaker 3: to get a pretty good one. But the difference is 524 00:24:01,440 --> 00:24:04,040 Speaker 3: he has a much more measured fight style. I went 525 00:24:04,080 --> 00:24:07,040 Speaker 3: through the numbers. He averages I think less than half 526 00:24:07,119 --> 00:24:10,000 Speaker 3: the strikes landed per minute that Max does, which granted 527 00:24:10,000 --> 00:24:11,800 Speaker 3: it's a very high number, but still it's less than 528 00:24:11,840 --> 00:24:15,600 Speaker 3: half or right around half anyway. And on the other side, 529 00:24:16,560 --> 00:24:19,160 Speaker 3: you know maxis has this ability. Assuming we get Max, 530 00:24:19,200 --> 00:24:22,320 Speaker 3: that is relatively similar to the one that we've had previously. 531 00:24:23,040 --> 00:24:26,639 Speaker 3: He's just going to force volume on Arnold. Can he 532 00:24:27,040 --> 00:24:29,600 Speaker 3: her mind pull Arnold into a bit of a war 533 00:24:29,680 --> 00:24:31,960 Speaker 3: in ways where Arnold likes to slow the fight down, 534 00:24:32,040 --> 00:24:34,760 Speaker 3: put it at his pace, Max just might force him 535 00:24:34,800 --> 00:24:35,200 Speaker 3: out of that. 536 00:24:36,040 --> 00:24:36,520 Speaker 4: Certainly. 537 00:24:36,840 --> 00:24:39,399 Speaker 5: I think it's a bit of an inevitability with Max 538 00:24:39,480 --> 00:24:42,200 Speaker 5: because we've seen guys like Frankie Edgar try and slow 539 00:24:42,280 --> 00:24:47,560 Speaker 5: down that pace. And the reason Volkanovsky had so much success, 540 00:24:47,680 --> 00:24:50,400 Speaker 5: and the reason that Rodriguez did as well as he did, 541 00:24:50,440 --> 00:24:52,680 Speaker 5: is because they've gotten to a point where they can 542 00:24:53,160 --> 00:24:56,760 Speaker 5: match that sort of style, right Like, you're not going 543 00:24:56,800 --> 00:24:58,840 Speaker 5: to slow Max all the way down. There are very 544 00:24:58,920 --> 00:25:01,160 Speaker 5: few people that can hold him down, force him against 545 00:25:01,200 --> 00:25:04,159 Speaker 5: the clinch like he's been preparing for that for a 546 00:25:04,480 --> 00:25:07,080 Speaker 5: very very long time now, and I think Arnold Allen 547 00:25:07,200 --> 00:25:08,840 Speaker 5: is going to need to take the fight to him Max. 548 00:25:08,920 --> 00:25:12,000 Speaker 5: Maxis has too much volume to lose on the scorecards 549 00:25:12,000 --> 00:25:14,359 Speaker 5: in most cases, right Like, we still see judges putting 550 00:25:14,359 --> 00:25:19,200 Speaker 5: a lot of emphasis on strikes, and visually it's just 551 00:25:19,400 --> 00:25:21,800 Speaker 5: hard to beat out a guy like Max round to 552 00:25:21,880 --> 00:25:24,919 Speaker 5: round because he's putting so much volume on his opponents. 553 00:25:26,160 --> 00:25:28,080 Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder how that's going to go too, where 554 00:25:28,160 --> 00:25:30,439 Speaker 3: if it's just a volume issue, but the quality is 555 00:25:31,760 --> 00:25:33,840 Speaker 3: relatively similar. Also, here's another thing too, like I had 556 00:25:33,880 --> 00:25:36,919 Speaker 3: a conversation with Chris Curtis and again I don't know this, 557 00:25:37,040 --> 00:25:38,800 Speaker 3: I can't prove this, and it was just something I 558 00:25:38,840 --> 00:25:41,560 Speaker 3: thought I shared with him because he was distraught after 559 00:25:41,600 --> 00:25:44,280 Speaker 3: his last loss to Kevin Gaslam over the weekend. And 560 00:25:44,400 --> 00:25:46,280 Speaker 3: you know, again I can't prove the shock. But one 561 00:25:46,280 --> 00:25:49,640 Speaker 3: thing I'm kind of got my eye on is to 562 00:25:49,680 --> 00:25:54,679 Speaker 3: what extent the body work doesn't get properly counted by judges. 563 00:25:54,760 --> 00:25:57,600 Speaker 3: Dan Tomas tweeting this to me something similar as well. 564 00:25:58,359 --> 00:26:01,520 Speaker 3: Max is a headhunter as a headhunter, so he'll pop 565 00:26:01,560 --> 00:26:04,399 Speaker 3: people's heads back or you know, push them off balance 566 00:26:04,440 --> 00:26:07,320 Speaker 3: by landing all the time. You know, he does get 567 00:26:07,400 --> 00:26:09,280 Speaker 3: hit in the line of fire for it, but that is, 568 00:26:09,320 --> 00:26:12,480 Speaker 3: at least on the offensive side, a very effective way 569 00:26:12,520 --> 00:26:13,840 Speaker 3: to get the judges on your side. 570 00:26:14,080 --> 00:26:16,399 Speaker 5: Oh well, I think Aaron Bronstadter brought it up on 571 00:26:16,960 --> 00:26:20,480 Speaker 5: Monday's show that I feel like judges are still really 572 00:26:20,680 --> 00:26:23,959 Speaker 5: under emphasizing the value of leg kicks. I mean, it's 573 00:26:24,040 --> 00:26:27,359 Speaker 5: hilarious because is he credited Alex for the leg kicks 574 00:26:27,400 --> 00:26:29,320 Speaker 5: setting up the finish in the fifth round of their 575 00:26:29,359 --> 00:26:33,119 Speaker 5: first MMA fight, Right, Like, there's something so visceral and 576 00:26:33,600 --> 00:26:37,199 Speaker 5: sort of visually painful about seeing someone get hit in 577 00:26:37,200 --> 00:26:41,280 Speaker 5: the face that we, oftentimes, I think undervalue the other work. 578 00:26:41,480 --> 00:26:43,800 Speaker 5: Like you can make the argument in many cases that 579 00:26:44,640 --> 00:26:48,280 Speaker 5: if shots to the head don't knock down, knock out, 580 00:26:48,359 --> 00:26:51,000 Speaker 5: or cut your opponent, they may not have as much 581 00:26:51,040 --> 00:26:53,000 Speaker 5: of a long term impact over the course of a 582 00:26:53,040 --> 00:26:55,159 Speaker 5: fight as the way that body shots can sort of 583 00:26:55,240 --> 00:26:58,560 Speaker 5: drain your gas tank or leg kicks can immobilize an opponent. 584 00:26:58,680 --> 00:27:01,280 Speaker 5: You just don't for what reason, we don't view it 585 00:27:01,280 --> 00:27:03,399 Speaker 5: in the same way. But if you're talking about scoring 586 00:27:03,440 --> 00:27:07,560 Speaker 5: an MMA as impactful strikes, I think a lot of 587 00:27:07,600 --> 00:27:10,119 Speaker 5: times the body shots and the leg kicks take a 588 00:27:10,160 --> 00:27:12,440 Speaker 5: bigger toll on the fighter over the course of a fight, 589 00:27:12,480 --> 00:27:14,479 Speaker 5: and they're just not really credited for as much as 590 00:27:14,480 --> 00:27:14,960 Speaker 5: they should be. 591 00:27:16,200 --> 00:27:18,080 Speaker 3: I really believe that, Like, if you want a body 592 00:27:18,080 --> 00:27:20,040 Speaker 3: shot to count in the judges, you got a fold 593 00:27:20,080 --> 00:27:22,159 Speaker 3: a guy, Yeah, you know what I mean. Or like 594 00:27:22,240 --> 00:27:24,080 Speaker 3: let's say you take a bodykick and it leaves like 595 00:27:24,119 --> 00:27:27,200 Speaker 3: a big old Welt or something, some kind of something 596 00:27:27,200 --> 00:27:29,919 Speaker 3: that the judges can literally, oh, I can connect the 597 00:27:29,960 --> 00:27:33,040 Speaker 3: dots between them or something. Without that, I just don't 598 00:27:33,080 --> 00:27:35,200 Speaker 3: know exactly how much good they're doing. 599 00:27:35,240 --> 00:27:39,280 Speaker 4: It remains to be seen. Well, I guess, sorry, just interject. 600 00:27:39,280 --> 00:27:42,240 Speaker 5: I guess part of the problem is this kind of 601 00:27:42,240 --> 00:27:45,320 Speaker 5: falls back into the idea of scoring a fight round 602 00:27:45,320 --> 00:27:46,680 Speaker 5: by a round or by totality. 603 00:27:46,760 --> 00:27:48,760 Speaker 4: Right, Like, if you don't get to see. 604 00:27:48,520 --> 00:27:51,480 Speaker 5: The impact or the work that is done from a 605 00:27:51,560 --> 00:27:54,160 Speaker 5: leg kick or a body shot until round four, round five, 606 00:27:54,840 --> 00:27:57,439 Speaker 5: you don't have enough evidence to support the damage that 607 00:27:57,440 --> 00:27:58,960 Speaker 5: those strikes are doing earlier in a fight. 608 00:27:59,040 --> 00:27:59,159 Speaker 4: Right. 609 00:27:59,200 --> 00:28:01,200 Speaker 5: So I think we'd see to play out very differently 610 00:28:01,480 --> 00:28:04,600 Speaker 5: if you were a school at scoring it in totality. 611 00:28:04,880 --> 00:28:07,040 Speaker 3: To your point, this is a five round fight. We'll 612 00:28:07,040 --> 00:28:10,160 Speaker 3: see what investment early leads too late should it go along. 613 00:28:10,440 --> 00:28:12,119 Speaker 3: We do have a couple of clips from Arnold Allen that 614 00:28:12,119 --> 00:28:14,239 Speaker 3: I would like to play. This is from our sit 615 00:28:14,280 --> 00:28:17,520 Speaker 3: down with him on RSD. We asked him about all 616 00:28:17,560 --> 00:28:19,560 Speaker 3: of the damage catching up to Max and what he 617 00:28:19,640 --> 00:28:29,680 Speaker 3: thinks it might mean. Here was his answer, Hey, what's up, Mikey. 618 00:28:29,720 --> 00:28:30,359 Speaker 4: What are we doing here? 619 00:28:30,440 --> 00:28:30,800 Speaker 2: My guys? 620 00:28:31,720 --> 00:28:34,040 Speaker 4: I mean just you gotta be shipping me here today, 621 00:28:34,080 --> 00:28:37,159 Speaker 4: Mikey be there, buddy. All right, I don't know what's happening. 622 00:28:37,680 --> 00:28:39,640 Speaker 4: I re enacted. I think I remember what he said. 623 00:28:40,120 --> 00:28:41,960 Speaker 3: What did I actually I was hoping to see it 624 00:28:41,960 --> 00:28:43,640 Speaker 3: because I actually don't remember what he said. 625 00:28:43,800 --> 00:28:45,720 Speaker 5: I got you, I got you. Give me one second here. 626 00:28:45,880 --> 00:28:48,240 Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, he's he's Max totally. 627 00:28:48,280 --> 00:28:48,720 Speaker 4: He's great. 628 00:28:49,880 --> 00:28:52,600 Speaker 6: But yeah, that's one of the things I always he's smiled. 629 00:28:52,600 --> 00:28:54,600 Speaker 6: It's just it's gonna catch up here. It doesn't matter 630 00:28:54,600 --> 00:28:57,520 Speaker 6: how old you if you have twenty fights, when every 631 00:28:57,520 --> 00:28:59,760 Speaker 6: fight is a back and forth fifty to fifty, you. 632 00:28:59,720 --> 00:29:00,800 Speaker 2: Know, in a bit of a war. 633 00:29:01,400 --> 00:29:04,040 Speaker 6: Even even where he's been very dominant, he's taking a 634 00:29:04,080 --> 00:29:06,680 Speaker 6: lot of shots. So yeah, then the mums have got 635 00:29:06,720 --> 00:29:07,080 Speaker 6: right up. 636 00:29:08,880 --> 00:29:10,760 Speaker 3: Definitely, they're definitely gonna add up. Now we have one 637 00:29:10,800 --> 00:29:12,400 Speaker 3: more for him. I'd like to play as well. Back 638 00:29:12,400 --> 00:29:15,400 Speaker 3: to back. We asked him, like about what it means 639 00:29:15,400 --> 00:29:17,560 Speaker 3: to be fighting Max Holloway in the significance to it 640 00:29:18,000 --> 00:29:21,480 Speaker 3: for him? What is how does he view this opportunity? 641 00:29:21,680 --> 00:29:22,360 Speaker 4: Here's what he said. 642 00:29:22,600 --> 00:29:24,920 Speaker 6: Yeah, I've always not watching Max. He's I mean, who 643 00:29:24,960 --> 00:29:26,840 Speaker 6: hasn't you know he's fun to watch. He seems like 644 00:29:26,880 --> 00:29:31,160 Speaker 6: the top floak not when he fights, so he's he 645 00:29:31,600 --> 00:29:31,920 Speaker 6: hits you. 646 00:29:32,000 --> 00:29:35,400 Speaker 4: Shaking his hand, he's talks, he talks to the comment. 647 00:29:35,560 --> 00:29:38,040 Speaker 6: Yeah, so there's that you need to be aware of that. 648 00:29:38,080 --> 00:29:40,960 Speaker 6: He's a he's a nice guy outside the cage, but 649 00:29:41,080 --> 00:29:42,120 Speaker 6: in there, Nah. 650 00:29:43,520 --> 00:29:44,800 Speaker 7: But you have do you have to walk through that 651 00:29:44,880 --> 00:29:47,040 Speaker 7: aura at all or any other opponents you fought or 652 00:29:47,160 --> 00:29:48,800 Speaker 7: or or is Max the first time were you're sort 653 00:29:48,840 --> 00:29:51,400 Speaker 7: of like, I gotta check any level of respect in 654 00:29:51,400 --> 00:29:54,480 Speaker 7: in in legend status putting outside it's just another fight. 655 00:29:55,120 --> 00:29:57,600 Speaker 6: Yeah, when I thought Gilbert Mellendez it was it was 656 00:29:57,640 --> 00:29:59,400 Speaker 6: a little bit of that. But then it was like 657 00:30:00,280 --> 00:30:07,960 Speaker 6: once ago, you know this guy. But yeah before yeah, yeah, 658 00:30:08,160 --> 00:30:10,440 Speaker 6: before I'm looking at his tape and watching him fight, 659 00:30:10,520 --> 00:30:13,760 Speaker 6: don't he's done this, He's done that, He's done that. 660 00:30:13,800 --> 00:30:17,080 Speaker 6: And then yeah, who won't you're in there, I'm gonna 661 00:30:17,080 --> 00:30:20,400 Speaker 6: beat this guy. So yeah, there's no h being overwhelmed 662 00:30:20,400 --> 00:30:23,040 Speaker 6: with who it is and it's just another man, isn't it. 663 00:30:24,080 --> 00:30:26,520 Speaker 4: Arnold's Arnold's a competitor. He's been doing this a while. 664 00:30:26,560 --> 00:30:28,719 Speaker 3: To your point, he doesn't have a ton of activity, 665 00:30:29,240 --> 00:30:31,760 Speaker 3: and so maybe that hurts him. But I'm not in 666 00:30:31,800 --> 00:30:33,960 Speaker 3: any way worried about Arnold bringing the. 667 00:30:33,880 --> 00:30:35,640 Speaker 4: Fight to him on Saturday. 668 00:30:36,000 --> 00:30:39,480 Speaker 5: No, particularly the last couple, like there were so many 669 00:30:39,520 --> 00:30:42,640 Speaker 5: decisions and like you mentioned, fights where he sort of 670 00:30:42,960 --> 00:30:45,560 Speaker 5: brings the fight down to his pace. But the Dan 671 00:30:45,640 --> 00:30:48,480 Speaker 5: Hooker one was wild, the Calvin Cater one was fun 672 00:30:48,480 --> 00:30:49,600 Speaker 5: for as long as it's lasted. 673 00:30:49,960 --> 00:30:51,640 Speaker 4: I don't know what's changed. 674 00:30:52,160 --> 00:30:53,720 Speaker 5: There were definitely a couple of fights where you had 675 00:30:53,760 --> 00:30:55,520 Speaker 5: to kind of come back from behind to win. So 676 00:30:55,880 --> 00:30:58,760 Speaker 5: maybe he's been putting more emphasis on sort of starting fast, 677 00:30:59,480 --> 00:31:02,440 Speaker 5: But dude, it's exciting. The thing with Arnold Allen is 678 00:31:02,720 --> 00:31:05,959 Speaker 5: though ry. It's been such a slow burn, a consequence 679 00:31:06,000 --> 00:31:09,000 Speaker 5: of a couple injuries on his part, his opponents falling out. 680 00:31:09,040 --> 00:31:11,720 Speaker 5: Like we have waited for this moment for so long. 681 00:31:11,800 --> 00:31:14,600 Speaker 5: I remember interviewing Arnold Allen back when me and Kajan 682 00:31:14,720 --> 00:31:18,320 Speaker 5: Johnson when he was sold to the UFC, interviewing him 683 00:31:18,360 --> 00:31:21,719 Speaker 5: on our old podcast. So it's cool to see this 684 00:31:21,760 --> 00:31:23,480 Speaker 5: isn't a guy who came out of nowhere, but it's 685 00:31:23,480 --> 00:31:25,560 Speaker 5: someone who's been bubbling for a long time that a 686 00:31:25,600 --> 00:31:28,360 Speaker 5: lot of the casual audience may not be too familiar 687 00:31:28,400 --> 00:31:31,560 Speaker 5: with as we saw on room service diaries. Underneath that 688 00:31:31,680 --> 00:31:36,640 Speaker 5: sort of like shy personal personality, there's a lot of 689 00:31:36,760 --> 00:31:37,600 Speaker 5: character to the guy. 690 00:31:37,720 --> 00:31:41,240 Speaker 4: So I hope, I hope people start really. 691 00:31:40,920 --> 00:31:43,440 Speaker 5: Sort of understanding who Arnold Allen is as a person 692 00:31:43,480 --> 00:31:44,240 Speaker 5: and as a fighter. 693 00:31:44,840 --> 00:31:49,120 Speaker 3: He was delightful in person, man truly like man, yeah, 694 00:31:49,320 --> 00:31:53,880 Speaker 3: sweet guy, humble. Uh you know, I do I do 695 00:31:53,960 --> 00:31:55,600 Speaker 3: think he wants to make some money in his career. 696 00:31:55,640 --> 00:31:59,080 Speaker 3: I saw the ESPN put out something some kind of 697 00:31:59,120 --> 00:32:01,200 Speaker 3: like hype video for like thirty minutes or something on 698 00:32:01,240 --> 00:32:03,160 Speaker 3: their YouTube channel, and I watched it last night and 699 00:32:03,200 --> 00:32:05,400 Speaker 3: they were talking about like, oh, Arnold doesn't want it, 700 00:32:05,440 --> 00:32:06,480 Speaker 3: just wants to be the best in the world. 701 00:32:06,480 --> 00:32:07,520 Speaker 4: He doesn't even want any money. 702 00:32:07,520 --> 00:32:10,640 Speaker 3: And I'm like, well, he wants some money, but I 703 00:32:10,720 --> 00:32:13,560 Speaker 3: do believe that like what really motivates him When you 704 00:32:13,560 --> 00:32:16,320 Speaker 3: talk to the guy, he definitely is just committed to 705 00:32:16,320 --> 00:32:18,360 Speaker 3: the craft, very very committed to the craft. And to 706 00:32:18,400 --> 00:32:20,080 Speaker 3: your point, like that Cater fight, that would have been 707 00:32:20,160 --> 00:32:23,720 Speaker 3: such a proving ground had it gone longer. So there's 708 00:32:23,800 --> 00:32:25,640 Speaker 3: questions both ways here, not in terms of all these 709 00:32:25,680 --> 00:32:28,440 Speaker 3: guys bad, we know they're very good, but exactly how 710 00:32:28,440 --> 00:32:30,800 Speaker 3: good are they going to be in these particular circumstances. 711 00:32:31,160 --> 00:32:34,240 Speaker 3: This is a great laboratory on Saturday night in Kansas City. 712 00:32:34,680 --> 00:32:37,959 Speaker 5: Absolutely, I'm just so excited to see what happens. Like 713 00:32:38,360 --> 00:32:40,680 Speaker 5: I was looking at Sudik Usef fight and that was 714 00:32:40,680 --> 00:32:42,360 Speaker 5: a twenty nine to twenty eight. So when you look 715 00:32:42,400 --> 00:32:44,960 Speaker 5: at a two to one round fight against the guy 716 00:32:44,960 --> 00:32:47,080 Speaker 5: who's behind you in the division, I think Sadiq's like 717 00:32:47,680 --> 00:32:51,800 Speaker 5: ranked number twelve right now. It bears questions. But at 718 00:32:51,840 --> 00:32:54,960 Speaker 5: the same time, what we saw with Calvin and Rob Fond, 719 00:32:55,040 --> 00:32:57,480 Speaker 5: for example, after those big beatings that they took against 720 00:32:57,560 --> 00:33:02,080 Speaker 5: Max Holloway and against Marlinchi doveris efectively is like, maybe 721 00:33:02,120 --> 00:33:04,440 Speaker 5: sometimes guys are fighting too much. Like we always praised 722 00:33:04,480 --> 00:33:06,960 Speaker 5: Kevin Holland for his activity, but we saw how it 723 00:33:07,040 --> 00:33:09,400 Speaker 5: sort of came to bite him as he rocketed up 724 00:33:09,440 --> 00:33:12,720 Speaker 5: the division. Arnold Allen has had a lot of time 725 00:33:12,800 --> 00:33:15,000 Speaker 5: to improve between fights, and I think it makes reading 726 00:33:15,040 --> 00:33:17,080 Speaker 5: tape on him really challenging because when you're only fighting 727 00:33:17,080 --> 00:33:19,680 Speaker 5: once a year, there's so much development being done on 728 00:33:19,720 --> 00:33:21,160 Speaker 5: the back end that you don't see. 729 00:33:21,000 --> 00:33:21,720 Speaker 4: Until fight night. 730 00:33:22,160 --> 00:33:24,360 Speaker 5: So I'm having a hard time predicting what he's gonna 731 00:33:24,360 --> 00:33:26,720 Speaker 5: look like and as a consequence, like I have no 732 00:33:26,800 --> 00:33:28,280 Speaker 5: idea what Max Holloway is in for. 733 00:33:29,600 --> 00:33:32,400 Speaker 3: Also on this card, by the way, Max Halloway a 734 00:33:32,440 --> 00:33:35,000 Speaker 3: minus one eighty favorite Arnold Allen plus one fifty five. 735 00:33:35,040 --> 00:33:36,320 Speaker 4: I think that's about right. 736 00:33:36,400 --> 00:33:38,880 Speaker 3: I would not I would not be so bold as 737 00:33:38,920 --> 00:33:41,560 Speaker 3: to make Max the underdog, but I think that's probably fair. 738 00:33:41,840 --> 00:33:44,520 Speaker 3: But your co main event super interesting one. I don't 739 00:33:44,520 --> 00:33:46,720 Speaker 3: know what's left for Edson Barbosa, but we're gonna find out. 740 00:33:46,720 --> 00:33:50,040 Speaker 3: At plus one fifty five, he is the underdog to 741 00:33:50,120 --> 00:33:53,000 Speaker 3: Billy Quarantillo. Billy Quarantilla having a dominant or I should say, 742 00:33:53,040 --> 00:33:56,400 Speaker 3: an amazing win in his last contest, But I don't 743 00:33:56,400 --> 00:33:58,600 Speaker 3: know what we got from Edsond Barbosa. It feels like 744 00:33:59,200 --> 00:34:03,480 Speaker 3: for me, Shack, it feels like he's been figured out. 745 00:34:03,760 --> 00:34:05,880 Speaker 3: Two problems with Barbosa right. One is his style has 746 00:34:05,920 --> 00:34:07,360 Speaker 3: been figured out, where if you just kind of crowd 747 00:34:07,440 --> 00:34:09,520 Speaker 3: him and you know, put the pressure on him, he 748 00:34:09,680 --> 00:34:11,960 Speaker 3: just can't get going with the kinds of kick, the 749 00:34:12,040 --> 00:34:14,719 Speaker 3: kind of kicking attacking game that has really lifted him 750 00:34:15,040 --> 00:34:15,840 Speaker 3: to this point. 751 00:34:16,000 --> 00:34:17,800 Speaker 4: The other side is that dude, he's taken. 752 00:34:17,560 --> 00:34:20,319 Speaker 3: Out beating I mean, he's been beaten the fuck up 753 00:34:20,360 --> 00:34:22,879 Speaker 3: over the course of his career. Billy Quarantillo gets hit, 754 00:34:22,880 --> 00:34:24,960 Speaker 3: but he has shown us some new wrinkles himself. 755 00:34:25,400 --> 00:34:26,520 Speaker 4: Size this one up for me. 756 00:34:26,560 --> 00:34:29,799 Speaker 3: What do you see as the dominant potential factors that 757 00:34:29,840 --> 00:34:32,000 Speaker 3: you're looking and that could influence how this one goes. 758 00:34:32,920 --> 00:34:36,560 Speaker 5: I'm not entirely ready to cast off Atson Barbosa quite yet. 759 00:34:36,880 --> 00:34:39,200 Speaker 5: To your point, the style has been figured out, but 760 00:34:40,760 --> 00:34:43,360 Speaker 5: he's clearly struggling with guys in the top fifteen. But 761 00:34:43,400 --> 00:34:46,000 Speaker 5: he has an experience level and power and a striking 762 00:34:46,040 --> 00:34:49,719 Speaker 5: style that's going to carry him until I think the 763 00:34:49,800 --> 00:34:53,200 Speaker 5: chin starts giving out. Billy has a ridiculous striking output. 764 00:34:53,239 --> 00:34:54,920 Speaker 5: I was, I was taking a look at it. According 765 00:34:55,000 --> 00:34:58,040 Speaker 5: to the UFC Stats Fight Metric, it's seven point eight 766 00:34:58,120 --> 00:35:01,680 Speaker 5: eight strikes landed per minute. The UFC Records page has 767 00:35:01,719 --> 00:35:03,520 Speaker 5: it a bit lower, but if it is indeed seven 768 00:35:03,560 --> 00:35:05,880 Speaker 5: point eight eight, that puts in number three at all 769 00:35:05,880 --> 00:35:08,880 Speaker 5: time for strikes landed per minute, behind Casey O'Neal and 770 00:35:08,880 --> 00:35:13,200 Speaker 5: Sergey Pavlovich. The problem is he absorbs five point seventy 771 00:35:13,239 --> 00:35:16,480 Speaker 5: two at a rate of a forty percent striking defense. 772 00:35:17,520 --> 00:35:20,399 Speaker 5: I think he's gonna have to employ a much more 773 00:35:20,440 --> 00:35:23,720 Speaker 5: diverse strategy. You said that we saw Edson getting crowded 774 00:35:23,760 --> 00:35:26,360 Speaker 5: a lot, big reason for why lost to Bryce Mitchell. 775 00:35:28,000 --> 00:35:30,440 Speaker 5: He's young, he has a lot of room to improve. 776 00:35:30,480 --> 00:35:32,280 Speaker 5: It's a bit of a quick turnaround. 777 00:35:31,840 --> 00:35:32,360 Speaker 4: For Billy Q. 778 00:35:32,680 --> 00:35:35,080 Speaker 5: I just don't know how confident I am that a 779 00:35:35,120 --> 00:35:38,799 Speaker 5: twenty four percent takedown rate one point five to five 780 00:35:38,840 --> 00:35:40,759 Speaker 5: for fifteen minutes. I don't just don't know if that's 781 00:35:40,800 --> 00:35:43,480 Speaker 5: going to be sufficient enough against an Edson Barbosa that 782 00:35:43,560 --> 00:35:46,239 Speaker 5: has been dealing with this kind of game plan basically 783 00:35:46,280 --> 00:35:49,160 Speaker 5: his whole career. Like, if the wrestling and the clinching 784 00:35:49,160 --> 00:35:51,120 Speaker 5: and the forward pressure is not your bread and butter, 785 00:35:51,400 --> 00:35:53,160 Speaker 5: I don't know how much success you're gonna have. And 786 00:35:53,200 --> 00:35:55,920 Speaker 5: I just worry that Billy cu'es a little too hittable 787 00:35:56,120 --> 00:35:58,839 Speaker 5: and Edsen Barboza still has the power that can carry 788 00:35:58,880 --> 00:36:00,160 Speaker 5: him at the stage. 789 00:36:00,440 --> 00:36:03,360 Speaker 4: Pop quiz How old is Edson Barboza? Oh? 790 00:36:03,400 --> 00:36:06,520 Speaker 5: Man, I bet he's not as old as it feels. 791 00:36:06,880 --> 00:36:10,120 Speaker 5: Let's say thirty four. 792 00:36:10,800 --> 00:36:16,120 Speaker 3: Billy Quarantillo is thirty four, Edson Barbosos thirty seven, thirty seven. Boy, 793 00:36:16,200 --> 00:36:18,000 Speaker 3: let me just say this, thirty seven, and you know 794 00:36:18,080 --> 00:36:20,719 Speaker 3: this is as well as anyone thirty seven at one hundred. 795 00:36:20,440 --> 00:36:23,480 Speaker 4: And forty five pounds. That's a tough place to be. 796 00:36:23,640 --> 00:36:25,920 Speaker 3: Now, I think your general point is well taken. And 797 00:36:26,000 --> 00:36:30,520 Speaker 3: again we talked about primes. Everyone's goes shorter longer. I'm 798 00:36:30,560 --> 00:36:33,960 Speaker 3: gonna guess that. I here's my read. My read is 799 00:36:33,960 --> 00:36:37,239 Speaker 3: that your analysis is pretty fair. That it would be 800 00:36:37,320 --> 00:36:40,000 Speaker 3: the odds I mentioned them, they're very very close. Barboza 801 00:36:40,080 --> 00:36:42,799 Speaker 3: sitting at plus f fifty five, Corntillo at minus one eighty, 802 00:36:42,800 --> 00:36:45,279 Speaker 3: basically the almost exact name mods in certain ways as 803 00:36:45,320 --> 00:36:45,880 Speaker 3: the main event. 804 00:36:46,000 --> 00:36:51,640 Speaker 4: But I I think that. 805 00:36:53,800 --> 00:36:55,800 Speaker 3: I don't need to believe the point, Dude thirty seven, 806 00:36:56,040 --> 00:36:59,680 Speaker 3: like the that's just the winning records of guys age 807 00:36:59,680 --> 00:37:01,200 Speaker 3: thirty five. It A one hundred and forty five at 808 00:37:01,200 --> 00:37:06,120 Speaker 3: the elite is not great, It's not I it's just 809 00:37:06,120 --> 00:37:08,920 Speaker 3: a really, really rough place to be. So wouldn't I 810 00:37:08,920 --> 00:37:10,600 Speaker 3: think you're fair? I think it's fair. Wouldn't want to 811 00:37:10,640 --> 00:37:13,640 Speaker 3: dismiss it. But here's the other part too, Right, he 812 00:37:13,640 --> 00:37:15,719 Speaker 3: could beat up corn Tilla for the first round and 813 00:37:15,760 --> 00:37:17,239 Speaker 3: then kind of fade a little bit, and then the 814 00:37:17,239 --> 00:37:19,560 Speaker 3: whole fight can change too. So he like, this is 815 00:37:19,560 --> 00:37:22,240 Speaker 3: the thing with Vitor. After Vitor got off TRT, everyone 816 00:37:22,320 --> 00:37:24,600 Speaker 3: was like, oh, he sucks now, well sort of, he 817 00:37:24,680 --> 00:37:27,520 Speaker 3: had three minutes of fury, like Brian Campbell on Prom Night. 818 00:37:27,600 --> 00:37:29,719 Speaker 3: He had three minutes of fury he could give you 819 00:37:30,120 --> 00:37:31,600 Speaker 3: and then then he would fall apart. 820 00:37:31,640 --> 00:37:32,160 Speaker 4: But like, look at it. 821 00:37:32,160 --> 00:37:34,399 Speaker 3: Look at Vitor's hands and like the wide Men fight 822 00:37:34,440 --> 00:37:36,239 Speaker 3: that came after his hands early were still good. 823 00:37:36,280 --> 00:37:37,720 Speaker 4: It's just he kind of faded pretty quickly. 824 00:37:38,160 --> 00:37:40,440 Speaker 3: That's a different scenario, much older fighter, and then there 825 00:37:40,440 --> 00:37:42,000 Speaker 3: was obviously some chemical issues involved. 826 00:37:42,000 --> 00:37:43,040 Speaker 4: But I don't know. 827 00:37:43,120 --> 00:37:46,160 Speaker 3: I wonder if Barboza is really built for the long 828 00:37:46,200 --> 00:37:47,719 Speaker 3: haul in these fights where he can't get the guy 829 00:37:47,719 --> 00:37:48,680 Speaker 3: out of there early enough. 830 00:37:49,440 --> 00:37:51,719 Speaker 5: I would love to know what kind of back to 831 00:37:51,719 --> 00:37:54,680 Speaker 5: the Max Holloway point is what Edson Barbosa's motivation is 832 00:37:54,680 --> 00:37:59,280 Speaker 5: at this point, because for me, if I was Edsen Barboza, 833 00:37:59,280 --> 00:38:01,239 Speaker 5: I wouldn't be going into this fight with a ton 834 00:38:01,280 --> 00:38:04,040 Speaker 5: of pressure because win or lose, He's not getting back 835 00:38:04,040 --> 00:38:07,759 Speaker 5: into the title scene. If he has sort of a 836 00:38:07,880 --> 00:38:10,560 Speaker 5: Jim Miller mindset to the whole thing, I feel like 837 00:38:10,560 --> 00:38:13,160 Speaker 5: he could stick around a little bit longer. But this 838 00:38:13,200 --> 00:38:15,239 Speaker 5: is a big fight for Billy Q. Man like this 839 00:38:15,280 --> 00:38:18,319 Speaker 5: is this is a chance you Edson Barboza still has 840 00:38:18,480 --> 00:38:21,279 Speaker 5: enough name value and Billy Q has an exciting style 841 00:38:21,360 --> 00:38:24,080 Speaker 5: that the UFC favors. If Billy can win this one, 842 00:38:24,719 --> 00:38:27,840 Speaker 5: we're gonna start talking about what's next form of the division. 843 00:38:28,080 --> 00:38:33,200 Speaker 5: I just considering the fall from grace that Alexander Hernandez has. 844 00:38:33,320 --> 00:38:35,960 Speaker 5: I still have questions about how far Billy Q can 845 00:38:35,960 --> 00:38:37,359 Speaker 5: take this, but. 846 00:38:37,560 --> 00:38:39,760 Speaker 3: I'd be very excited to see his name in the mix. 847 00:38:40,800 --> 00:38:43,480 Speaker 3: Also on this card, it's not the best card, but 848 00:38:43,520 --> 00:38:47,000 Speaker 3: it's not a terrible card. You've got Dustin Jacobe taken 849 00:38:47,040 --> 00:38:50,920 Speaker 3: on Azamat Morzakhanov. That's, I guess, a fun ish contest. 850 00:38:51,000 --> 00:38:53,799 Speaker 4: Someone's getting knocked out. Someone's probably gonna get knocked out. 851 00:38:53,800 --> 00:38:54,640 Speaker 4: I think it's a fair way to put it. 852 00:38:54,680 --> 00:38:56,200 Speaker 3: But what it's more interesting to me is down at 853 00:38:56,239 --> 00:38:59,120 Speaker 3: two oh five and it's not quite a pick them, 854 00:38:59,120 --> 00:39:03,200 Speaker 3: but it's pretty close. Ewan kut Laba minus one twenty 855 00:39:03,239 --> 00:39:08,320 Speaker 3: five taking on former heavyweight now two oh fiver Tanner Bosser, 856 00:39:08,800 --> 00:39:10,400 Speaker 3: one of your Canadian brethren. 857 00:39:11,320 --> 00:39:13,840 Speaker 4: What kind of how do I say this? 858 00:39:13,880 --> 00:39:17,279 Speaker 3: What are your expectations for Tanner Bosser at two oh five. 859 00:39:19,719 --> 00:39:23,760 Speaker 5: It's complex because one of the things he had going 860 00:39:23,840 --> 00:39:26,600 Speaker 5: for him at heavyweight is that much like the newer 861 00:39:26,640 --> 00:39:29,760 Speaker 5: heavyweights we see, he's very athletic, right. 862 00:39:29,800 --> 00:39:31,440 Speaker 4: Nimble, moves around well. 863 00:39:31,719 --> 00:39:34,680 Speaker 5: It's the sort of heavyweight style that's starting to take 864 00:39:34,760 --> 00:39:37,520 Speaker 5: over that division, and the fact that he couldn't crack 865 00:39:37,560 --> 00:39:41,719 Speaker 5: it at heavyweight the way guys like Tom aspinall have 866 00:39:43,560 --> 00:39:46,239 Speaker 5: makes me question how much success he's going to have 867 00:39:46,360 --> 00:39:49,439 Speaker 5: a weight class down. The power may carry that'll serve 868 00:39:49,520 --> 00:39:51,920 Speaker 5: him really well, but he's just going to be fighting 869 00:39:51,960 --> 00:39:56,480 Speaker 5: guys who are faster, who are momobile, who have a 870 00:39:56,520 --> 00:39:58,320 Speaker 5: lot of the same skill or some sort of the 871 00:39:58,320 --> 00:40:02,080 Speaker 5: same athletic benefits that he had. So I'm curious, but 872 00:40:02,120 --> 00:40:04,080 Speaker 5: I don't have a ton of confidence that Tanna is 873 00:40:04,080 --> 00:40:06,200 Speaker 5: going to make a very serious run of two hundred 874 00:40:06,200 --> 00:40:06,880 Speaker 5: and five pounds. 875 00:40:07,719 --> 00:40:09,680 Speaker 3: It's hard to say. I think I share some of 876 00:40:09,719 --> 00:40:12,000 Speaker 3: your skepticism. Only thirty one years of age, for what 877 00:40:12,040 --> 00:40:16,960 Speaker 3: it's worth, and has looked decent certainly at times he's 878 00:40:17,360 --> 00:40:19,480 Speaker 3: you know, that missing tooth with the beer thing he 879 00:40:19,480 --> 00:40:20,359 Speaker 3: can do with the beer can. 880 00:40:20,400 --> 00:40:22,239 Speaker 4: It's pretty amazing, you know. It's all nice on. 881 00:40:22,239 --> 00:40:25,560 Speaker 5: Some sort of he has a story about having to 882 00:40:26,239 --> 00:40:28,840 Speaker 5: man when we talked about this, the memory is. 883 00:40:28,800 --> 00:40:31,040 Speaker 4: A little foggy, but I think him and his brother 884 00:40:31,120 --> 00:40:31,440 Speaker 4: were like. 885 00:40:31,440 --> 00:40:33,560 Speaker 5: Climbing up the face of a mountain and his brother 886 00:40:33,640 --> 00:40:37,560 Speaker 5: fell off and was like it was a near fatal thing, 887 00:40:37,560 --> 00:40:40,000 Speaker 5: and him and his friends had like drag his brother 888 00:40:40,200 --> 00:40:43,000 Speaker 5: up the size fake cliff of a mountain until they 889 00:40:43,040 --> 00:40:45,320 Speaker 5: could get to like search and rescue, no mobile service. 890 00:40:45,480 --> 00:40:46,799 Speaker 5: He's got stories for you, man. 891 00:40:47,360 --> 00:40:51,319 Speaker 3: M Pedro Munos is back on this card against Chris 892 00:40:51,360 --> 00:40:55,200 Speaker 3: Gutieris Chris kutieris fresh off of beating Frankie Edgar. I 893 00:40:55,200 --> 00:40:57,400 Speaker 3: don't know what it did to boost his profile, to 894 00:40:57,400 --> 00:41:00,520 Speaker 3: be perfectly honest with you, but this is a very 895 00:41:00,560 --> 00:41:02,880 Speaker 3: tough contest at one hundred and thirty five pound Pedro munyios. 896 00:41:02,920 --> 00:41:05,160 Speaker 3: Let me see how old Pedro is. Pedro currently sits 897 00:41:05,880 --> 00:41:10,000 Speaker 3: at thirty six, so also very young. Yeah, he's also 898 00:41:10,040 --> 00:41:12,319 Speaker 3: coming off of he's got three losses in his last 899 00:41:12,320 --> 00:41:14,800 Speaker 3: four fights. The one is against Jimmy Rivera in twenty 900 00:41:14,840 --> 00:41:18,000 Speaker 3: twenty one. Is this the time for Chris Gutierrez to 901 00:41:18,040 --> 00:41:21,200 Speaker 3: beat another Obviously Frankie was a legend, but let's just 902 00:41:21,239 --> 00:41:23,280 Speaker 3: say a mainstay of this division. 903 00:41:23,480 --> 00:41:27,120 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, whatever confidence I'm sort of I lack, 904 00:41:27,280 --> 00:41:30,520 Speaker 5: or the skepticism I have towards Billy beating Edsen Barboza. 905 00:41:30,600 --> 00:41:33,640 Speaker 5: I have almost no doubt in my mind that this 906 00:41:33,719 --> 00:41:37,120 Speaker 5: is Chris gutieed is his time to shine, right. I 907 00:41:37,120 --> 00:41:39,400 Speaker 5: think it's a really bad matchup for Munio's. He's the 908 00:41:39,440 --> 00:41:43,120 Speaker 5: shorter guy, he's got the smaller reach. He couldn't get 909 00:41:43,120 --> 00:41:46,200 Speaker 5: it done against Frank Edgar, Jose Aldo or Dominic Cruz. 910 00:41:46,280 --> 00:41:51,240 Speaker 5: I'm not convinced that he can withstand gutied as his power. Now, 911 00:41:51,760 --> 00:41:54,480 Speaker 5: Muno's has never been stopped, so you got to give 912 00:41:54,520 --> 00:41:56,960 Speaker 5: him credit there. But like you said, we're going up 913 00:41:57,000 --> 00:41:59,880 Speaker 5: in age. That chin is bound to deteriorate at some point. 914 00:42:00,040 --> 00:42:02,560 Speaker 5: And Gutierrez, I mean, not only does he hit hard, 915 00:42:02,880 --> 00:42:05,879 Speaker 5: he hits some crazy angles. That knee knockout of Frank 916 00:42:06,120 --> 00:42:08,640 Speaker 5: Edgar was just it was it was uncomfortable watch. Let's 917 00:42:08,680 --> 00:42:10,680 Speaker 5: be honest. It's like the worst way you could send 918 00:42:10,680 --> 00:42:15,080 Speaker 5: a guy into retirement. Pedro does have a very big, 919 00:42:15,600 --> 00:42:18,080 Speaker 5: very advanced submission game, I think compared to gutierd is, 920 00:42:18,160 --> 00:42:21,359 Speaker 5: but his takedown defense is like twenty percent point five 921 00:42:21,400 --> 00:42:23,719 Speaker 5: to five for fifteen minutes. I don't think the wrestling 922 00:42:23,800 --> 00:42:27,840 Speaker 5: is up to snuff to get Gutiaeda is down, and man, 923 00:42:28,239 --> 00:42:32,360 Speaker 5: I think Chris is The bandamweight division is so ridiculously stacked. 924 00:42:33,080 --> 00:42:35,880 Speaker 5: There's no shortage of contenders the top of the division. 925 00:42:36,520 --> 00:42:39,040 Speaker 5: We thought Adrian Janiez was going to be the next 926 00:42:39,120 --> 00:42:41,440 Speaker 5: one to get elevated there. I don't think Chris gutierda 927 00:42:41,480 --> 00:42:44,200 Speaker 5: Is is too far behind. Oh see where does he sit? 928 00:42:44,280 --> 00:42:47,400 Speaker 5: He says at thirteen right now? Dude, that's the thirteenth 929 00:42:47,520 --> 00:42:51,880 Speaker 5: rank guy for comparison, that's the dude. Thirteen at light. 930 00:42:51,719 --> 00:42:56,040 Speaker 3: Heavyweight is Dustin Jacoby, thirteen at middleweight is Brendan Allen. 931 00:42:56,040 --> 00:42:59,040 Speaker 3: These are fine, These are good fighters. Thirteen at walterweight 932 00:42:59,120 --> 00:42:59,799 Speaker 3: is jorgem Mas. 933 00:43:00,600 --> 00:43:02,839 Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Like, Dude, thirteen is this 934 00:43:02,960 --> 00:43:05,600 Speaker 4: kid sitting there who is really good? 935 00:43:06,120 --> 00:43:09,319 Speaker 3: That division is just fucking absurd well trained out of 936 00:43:09,320 --> 00:43:12,759 Speaker 3: Mark Montoya's factory X dynamic kicking game. The one thing, 937 00:43:12,800 --> 00:43:14,560 Speaker 3: the one little X factor for me, not that this 938 00:43:14,600 --> 00:43:17,840 Speaker 3: is a huge liability for Chris per Se, but Pedro 939 00:43:17,960 --> 00:43:22,880 Speaker 3: has sneaky guillotines, sneaky guillotines. I wonder if he could 940 00:43:23,239 --> 00:43:25,120 Speaker 3: pull him into that, but I think I agree in 941 00:43:25,160 --> 00:43:28,760 Speaker 3: general if he doesn't get some kind of not hail Mary, 942 00:43:28,960 --> 00:43:34,000 Speaker 3: but maybe low percentage like opportunity, which you know does 943 00:43:34,000 --> 00:43:37,040 Speaker 3: don't work very well anyway by definition without one of those, 944 00:43:37,120 --> 00:43:39,000 Speaker 3: like oh, I can maybe get a guillotine without that. 945 00:43:40,040 --> 00:43:42,960 Speaker 3: I just feel like Chris's firepower and setups are just 946 00:43:43,040 --> 00:43:45,680 Speaker 3: way too dynamic for him at this stage of his career. 947 00:43:45,719 --> 00:43:49,200 Speaker 3: But we shall see anything else. A Lando Vanada is 948 00:43:49,239 --> 00:43:52,400 Speaker 3: back on this card as an underdog. Gillian Robertson is 949 00:43:52,440 --> 00:43:54,000 Speaker 3: on his card. Anything else stand out to you? 950 00:43:54,239 --> 00:43:56,160 Speaker 4: Oh? How about this? Dude? Hold on? How am I 951 00:43:56,200 --> 00:43:58,080 Speaker 4: missing this? Hold on? I gotta say this, thank you? 952 00:43:58,360 --> 00:43:58,680 Speaker 2: Hold on? 953 00:43:58,719 --> 00:43:59,040 Speaker 4: Hold on? 954 00:43:59,160 --> 00:44:01,239 Speaker 3: Two things I want to point out. Brandon Royvel's on 955 00:44:01,239 --> 00:44:03,840 Speaker 3: this card against Patios Nicolau. Amazing. We'll talk about that 956 00:44:03,960 --> 00:44:06,040 Speaker 3: just a second, but I have to point this out. 957 00:44:06,400 --> 00:44:09,959 Speaker 3: Clay Guida is on this card against Ratha Garcia. Clay 958 00:44:09,960 --> 00:44:14,759 Speaker 3: Guida has twenty two losses. Obviously, he's a legend in 959 00:44:14,800 --> 00:44:17,040 Speaker 3: the game. Please almost understand me. But he's forty one. 960 00:44:17,360 --> 00:44:20,080 Speaker 3: He has a record of thirty eight and twenty two. Also, 961 00:44:20,200 --> 00:44:24,279 Speaker 3: on this card. If I may ed fucking Herman saw 962 00:44:24,280 --> 00:44:27,000 Speaker 3: on this card, dude ed Herman was on what season 963 00:44:27,160 --> 00:44:30,040 Speaker 3: two or No. Maybe three of the Ultimate Fighters something 964 00:44:30,120 --> 00:44:33,520 Speaker 3: like that, some absurd thing. Forty two years of age. Guys, 965 00:44:33,560 --> 00:44:38,000 Speaker 3: I'm forty three. I'm forty three. He's forty two and 966 00:44:38,040 --> 00:44:40,520 Speaker 3: by the way, has a win and last one was 967 00:44:40,560 --> 00:44:42,320 Speaker 3: twenty twenty. He didn't fight in twenty to twenty. We 968 00:44:42,440 --> 00:44:44,480 Speaker 3: lost one time to a Lonzo Minifield, which I thought 969 00:44:44,480 --> 00:44:46,920 Speaker 3: he was gonna get dusted, and hasn't fought since then. 970 00:44:47,160 --> 00:44:47,719 Speaker 4: He's taken on. 971 00:44:47,840 --> 00:44:51,120 Speaker 3: Zach Cummings, walk me through some of these bouts in 972 00:44:51,120 --> 00:44:53,040 Speaker 3: your oppression and what stands out. 973 00:44:53,719 --> 00:44:56,319 Speaker 5: I'm honestly fine with it. Look, if guys want to 974 00:44:56,360 --> 00:44:58,160 Speaker 5: compete and this is how they want to make their 975 00:44:58,160 --> 00:45:00,360 Speaker 5: living and what this is, this is what they're passionate about, 976 00:45:00,719 --> 00:45:02,920 Speaker 5: far be it from me to tell them otherwise. What 977 00:45:02,960 --> 00:45:04,719 Speaker 5: I think is most important, and it's a point I 978 00:45:04,760 --> 00:45:07,799 Speaker 5: bought up repeatedly throughout the show, is what is your 979 00:45:07,920 --> 00:45:11,440 Speaker 5: primary motivating factor for risking your physical health inside of 980 00:45:11,440 --> 00:45:13,040 Speaker 5: a cage fist fighting another person? 981 00:45:13,520 --> 00:45:14,799 Speaker 4: And can it be accomplished? 982 00:45:15,120 --> 00:45:18,640 Speaker 5: Clay Gueda for the most part is fighting relative opposition. 983 00:45:18,719 --> 00:45:22,920 Speaker 5: I think for ed hearn Hermann, Zach Cummings relative opposition. 984 00:45:23,280 --> 00:45:27,760 Speaker 5: What really really frustrates me is when the UFC pairs 985 00:45:27,840 --> 00:45:30,879 Speaker 5: one of their aging veterans against a guy who's sort 986 00:45:30,880 --> 00:45:35,000 Speaker 5: of an unknown prospect who smokes them but doesn't really 987 00:45:35,080 --> 00:45:38,480 Speaker 5: gain the name value because there's no prior momentum behind him. 988 00:45:38,520 --> 00:45:42,040 Speaker 5: Right like when Israel A Disagnya beat Anderson Silva, there 989 00:45:42,160 --> 00:45:44,360 Speaker 5: was so much that made sense in terms of a 990 00:45:44,440 --> 00:45:46,640 Speaker 5: passing of a torch moment. You have this guy coming 991 00:45:46,719 --> 00:45:48,960 Speaker 5: up in Izzy who people see as a future world champion. 992 00:45:49,239 --> 00:45:51,920 Speaker 5: There are so many parallels you can draw to the Spider. 993 00:45:52,680 --> 00:45:57,000 Speaker 5: That fight makes sense because Israel Adasania had momentum under 994 00:45:57,000 --> 00:45:59,239 Speaker 5: his wings and this was a chance to elevate him 995 00:45:59,239 --> 00:46:01,520 Speaker 5: in a big spot for But we see so many 996 00:46:01,560 --> 00:46:03,520 Speaker 5: times like I can't remember who it was that Matt 997 00:46:03,560 --> 00:46:06,120 Speaker 5: Brown fought, where the UFC will just feed one of 998 00:46:06,160 --> 00:46:08,960 Speaker 5: their aging stars to a guy that nobody knows about 999 00:46:09,160 --> 00:46:11,080 Speaker 5: and you end up just feeling more sad for the 1000 00:46:11,160 --> 00:46:14,000 Speaker 5: veteran then you do excited for the prospect to beat him, 1001 00:46:14,120 --> 00:46:17,839 Speaker 5: and that prospect inevitably loses to someone more challenging who 1002 00:46:17,840 --> 00:46:19,680 Speaker 5: also doesn't have a ton of name value. 1003 00:46:20,360 --> 00:46:21,320 Speaker 4: And it's a moot point. 1004 00:46:21,840 --> 00:46:23,719 Speaker 5: If you're an aging fighter in the UFC, what I 1005 00:46:23,760 --> 00:46:25,320 Speaker 5: would love to see is for you to fight a 1006 00:46:25,360 --> 00:46:28,719 Speaker 5: relative opposition or fight someone who you can who will 1007 00:46:28,800 --> 00:46:31,720 Speaker 5: ultimately benefit from getting that rub. We see it happen 1008 00:46:31,880 --> 00:46:34,480 Speaker 5: so rarely in the UFC. But if Clay is up 1009 00:46:34,520 --> 00:46:36,719 Speaker 5: for the challenge and the Herman is up for the challenge, 1010 00:46:37,400 --> 00:46:37,960 Speaker 5: so be it. 1011 00:46:38,920 --> 00:46:41,120 Speaker 3: Uh okay, So let's talk about that Brandon Reuville fight. 1012 00:46:41,200 --> 00:46:44,360 Speaker 3: He takes on mitayos Nicolau. So Reuvill enters this contest. 1013 00:46:44,440 --> 00:46:47,359 Speaker 3: Let's see, he is thirty years of age, he has 1014 00:46:47,400 --> 00:46:49,640 Speaker 3: a record of fourteen and six. He's coming in off 1015 00:46:49,680 --> 00:46:53,160 Speaker 3: two wins over Jjerio Bonzarine that's a split decision. Then 1016 00:46:53,200 --> 00:46:55,360 Speaker 3: he finished off Matt Schanell in round one with a guillotine. 1017 00:46:55,360 --> 00:46:57,600 Speaker 3: That was in twenty twenty two. He has not fought 1018 00:46:57,640 --> 00:47:00,279 Speaker 3: since then. Mateos Nicolau is an absolute hammer night in 1019 00:47:00,320 --> 00:47:02,640 Speaker 3: two record. He's thirty years of age and he has 1020 00:47:02,719 --> 00:47:05,600 Speaker 3: let's see one, two, three, four, five, six wins in 1021 00:47:05,640 --> 00:47:09,080 Speaker 3: a row over Schnell, to Vorak, Elliott cop and on 1022 00:47:09,120 --> 00:47:12,319 Speaker 3: and on from there. I am looking to see for 1023 00:47:12,360 --> 00:47:14,719 Speaker 3: Brandon Royville, who obviously has a bit of the fans 1024 00:47:14,719 --> 00:47:17,359 Speaker 3: interest and imagination captured, who has one of the more 1025 00:47:17,360 --> 00:47:20,400 Speaker 3: fan friendly styles, particularly as a grappler, but he almost 1026 00:47:20,400 --> 00:47:22,680 Speaker 3: does it to a fault at times. Like he's obviously 1027 00:47:22,719 --> 00:47:26,200 Speaker 3: got great submissions and can chain them together, but sometimes 1028 00:47:26,200 --> 00:47:29,360 Speaker 3: he tries to force that. For me, against a smooth 1029 00:47:29,440 --> 00:47:33,200 Speaker 3: operator like Mateo's Nicolau, I think Reuville can beat him, 1030 00:47:33,440 --> 00:47:35,200 Speaker 3: but he's going to have to make more I think, 1031 00:47:36,000 --> 00:47:40,239 Speaker 3: you know, mature adjustments in terms of how he apportions 1032 00:47:40,239 --> 00:47:43,000 Speaker 3: his game, setting things up and getting to the next stage. 1033 00:47:43,120 --> 00:47:45,080 Speaker 3: Just trying to run into these guys. You'll get wins 1034 00:47:45,120 --> 00:47:47,080 Speaker 3: doing that. You will get wins doing that, but you 1035 00:47:47,080 --> 00:47:49,640 Speaker 3: won't get all the wins you could with a more, 1036 00:47:49,800 --> 00:47:51,320 Speaker 3: i think even tempered style. 1037 00:47:52,040 --> 00:47:52,640 Speaker 4: Yeah. 1038 00:47:52,719 --> 00:47:55,359 Speaker 5: I talked to Brandon Royville. The video should be coming 1039 00:47:55,360 --> 00:47:59,000 Speaker 5: out later today. I mean, maybe you know he's just 1040 00:47:59,200 --> 00:48:02,000 Speaker 5: misdirecting people. But if your hope is to see a 1041 00:48:02,320 --> 00:48:06,680 Speaker 5: more sort of mindful, measured approach to that dynamic fight style, 1042 00:48:07,000 --> 00:48:08,200 Speaker 5: I don't think we're gonna get it. 1043 00:48:08,520 --> 00:48:11,520 Speaker 4: His quote was that he has mastered chaos. 1044 00:48:11,800 --> 00:48:13,919 Speaker 5: Is it really chaos if you can master it right, 1045 00:48:15,000 --> 00:48:18,200 Speaker 5: he actually takes umbrage off and with fighters who use 1046 00:48:18,239 --> 00:48:20,319 Speaker 5: a point fighting style, he's like, why are you in here? 1047 00:48:20,320 --> 00:48:21,120 Speaker 4: We're trying to fight. 1048 00:48:21,239 --> 00:48:24,920 Speaker 5: So I do think there's a level of maturity that 1049 00:48:24,960 --> 00:48:27,640 Speaker 5: still needs to happen if he really wants to realize 1050 00:48:28,080 --> 00:48:32,080 Speaker 5: his aspirations to win a world championship. And it's funny 1051 00:48:32,080 --> 00:48:36,960 Speaker 5: because we have Brandon Moreno in the as. 1052 00:48:36,440 --> 00:48:37,600 Speaker 4: A champion right now, and. 1053 00:48:39,600 --> 00:48:41,719 Speaker 5: There was a point where Moreno and Rouval fought and 1054 00:48:41,760 --> 00:48:44,520 Speaker 5: then their careers just branched off in totally different directions. 1055 00:48:44,600 --> 00:48:47,759 Speaker 5: Right Roevvil suffered a shoulder injury, ended up getting TKO'ed 1056 00:48:47,800 --> 00:48:50,759 Speaker 5: with one second left in round one. Next thing you know, 1057 00:48:50,800 --> 00:48:53,799 Speaker 5: Moreno is fighting Davison Figedo and that takes us off 1058 00:48:53,800 --> 00:48:56,759 Speaker 5: for years and years and years as they do their quadrilogy. 1059 00:48:56,840 --> 00:49:00,640 Speaker 5: So there's an interesting sort of comeback story here for Royville, 1060 00:49:00,680 --> 00:49:02,759 Speaker 5: who's other loss, the one he really wants to get 1061 00:49:02,800 --> 00:49:06,239 Speaker 5: back is against Pantosia, and we're going to talk about 1062 00:49:06,239 --> 00:49:10,560 Speaker 5: that a little bit later. Royville needs to chill. I'm 1063 00:49:10,560 --> 00:49:12,680 Speaker 5: excited to see what happens. And it's funny you mentioned 1064 00:49:12,680 --> 00:49:15,400 Speaker 5: that he sort of has the fans imagination because the 1065 00:49:15,520 --> 00:49:18,200 Speaker 5: UFC hasn't rewarded this. This isn't on the main card, 1066 00:49:18,440 --> 00:49:21,399 Speaker 5: this isn't even the pre Lims headliner. And Rouville really 1067 00:49:21,440 --> 00:49:24,200 Speaker 5: took umbrage with that. He's like, I have Fight of 1068 00:49:24,239 --> 00:49:27,600 Speaker 5: the night in fifty percent of my UFC fights. I 1069 00:49:27,680 --> 00:49:31,000 Speaker 5: go out there, I'm a soldier. I do my best 1070 00:49:31,000 --> 00:49:32,600 Speaker 5: to put on a show for the fans. You have, 1071 00:49:33,960 --> 00:49:36,960 Speaker 5: you know, Mattias Nicolau for fight win streak and the 1072 00:49:37,040 --> 00:49:40,640 Speaker 5: UFC six in total. The winner of this may very 1073 00:49:40,680 --> 00:49:44,319 Speaker 5: well be next in line after Moreno and Pantojia sort 1074 00:49:44,360 --> 00:49:47,640 Speaker 5: of seal the deal. Why aren't we putting a little 1075 00:49:47,640 --> 00:49:49,759 Speaker 5: bit more respect on this fight? I feel like there's 1076 00:49:49,760 --> 00:49:52,000 Speaker 5: definitely fights you could have taken off the main card, 1077 00:49:52,320 --> 00:49:55,200 Speaker 5: and this I think definitely deserves to be the prelims headliner. 1078 00:49:55,280 --> 00:49:56,880 Speaker 5: Over Bill Algie versus TJ. 1079 00:49:56,960 --> 00:50:01,120 Speaker 4: Brown. Yeah, I'm gonna guess the fly Wait disrespect. 1080 00:50:01,239 --> 00:50:03,400 Speaker 5: You know, I thought we were over it, guys, we 1081 00:50:03,520 --> 00:50:04,680 Speaker 5: just had a quadrilogy. 1082 00:50:04,920 --> 00:50:07,719 Speaker 3: Doesn't sound like we are, doesn't. It doesn't look that 1083 00:50:07,760 --> 00:50:09,439 Speaker 3: way anyway. It could just be for all other reasons 1084 00:50:09,480 --> 00:50:12,560 Speaker 3: we don't really understand. But I agree it's a curious placement, 1085 00:50:12,680 --> 00:50:15,759 Speaker 3: just the same. All right, moving on to topic number two, 1086 00:50:16,760 --> 00:50:18,200 Speaker 3: I want to start with something here. We're talking about 1087 00:50:18,239 --> 00:50:21,640 Speaker 3: PFL three before we get into this conversation, because it's 1088 00:50:21,640 --> 00:50:23,200 Speaker 3: going to be headlined by a very good fight between 1089 00:50:23,200 --> 00:50:26,040 Speaker 3: Olivier all Bin, Marcia You or Canadian Brethren taking on 1090 00:50:26,080 --> 00:50:28,520 Speaker 3: Shane Burgos. That's a minus one ten in either direction, 1091 00:50:28,640 --> 00:50:30,919 Speaker 3: a true pick them. That's a fun fight. But before 1092 00:50:30,960 --> 00:50:35,279 Speaker 3: we get to that, I have to say something has 1093 00:50:35,320 --> 00:50:38,920 Speaker 3: PFL lost momentum because it feels like they have now. 1094 00:50:38,960 --> 00:50:40,560 Speaker 3: I know they had that signing with Jake Paul, but 1095 00:50:40,600 --> 00:50:43,399 Speaker 3: he is busy doing whatever the fuck he's doing, which 1096 00:50:43,440 --> 00:50:45,480 Speaker 3: is not fighting for them. In MMA, he had the 1097 00:50:45,480 --> 00:50:47,640 Speaker 3: fight with obviously Tommy Fury, and you know it didn't 1098 00:50:47,640 --> 00:50:49,239 Speaker 3: go as work, but that's not PFL related. But you 1099 00:50:49,239 --> 00:50:51,400 Speaker 3: know he's busy anyway, and we may not get him 1100 00:50:51,440 --> 00:50:53,719 Speaker 3: at all this year. Kayla looks like she might be 1101 00:50:53,760 --> 00:50:55,359 Speaker 3: done with him. She might have a couple more things 1102 00:50:55,360 --> 00:50:57,719 Speaker 3: she has to do contractually, but it doesn't appear her 1103 00:50:57,719 --> 00:51:00,880 Speaker 3: future is with this company. They it's signed Shane Bergos, 1104 00:51:00,880 --> 00:51:03,520 Speaker 3: They've got some other interesting names, but I don't really 1105 00:51:03,600 --> 00:51:05,920 Speaker 3: see a lot of fan enthusiasm for this season. I 1106 00:51:05,920 --> 00:51:07,920 Speaker 3: don't really see them building a lot of momentum. I 1107 00:51:08,000 --> 00:51:10,319 Speaker 3: don't know if anyone watched that Challenger series. And I'm 1108 00:51:10,320 --> 00:51:13,640 Speaker 3: not saying this to bag on them, dude, mma is 1109 00:51:13,719 --> 00:51:16,880 Speaker 3: better when the other promotions outside of the UFC are 1110 00:51:16,920 --> 00:51:19,719 Speaker 3: all hitting, When Belletre's hitting, when PFL is hitting, when 1111 00:51:19,760 --> 00:51:22,440 Speaker 3: one is out there killing it. We want that, But 1112 00:51:22,480 --> 00:51:24,319 Speaker 3: I'd be lying if I said I saw that from 1113 00:51:24,320 --> 00:51:27,799 Speaker 3: PFL right now. Give me your state of the of 1114 00:51:27,880 --> 00:51:32,640 Speaker 3: the promotion for PFL right now in twenty twenty three. 1115 00:51:32,800 --> 00:51:34,680 Speaker 5: You know, I think this is sort of hard for 1116 00:51:35,040 --> 00:51:37,560 Speaker 5: fans and for media to part sometimes because you kind 1117 00:51:37,560 --> 00:51:40,359 Speaker 5: of have to put on your hardcore hat and then 1118 00:51:40,360 --> 00:51:42,160 Speaker 5: sometimes you got to take that off and look at 1119 00:51:42,200 --> 00:51:46,319 Speaker 5: it from the perspective of a fan who has, you know, 1120 00:51:46,400 --> 00:51:48,680 Speaker 5: a bit more of a just overall general understanding of 1121 00:51:48,680 --> 00:51:51,040 Speaker 5: the sport, but maybe not quite as in tune with 1122 00:51:51,120 --> 00:51:55,359 Speaker 5: the fine details of it. Because as you were saying 1123 00:51:55,360 --> 00:51:57,080 Speaker 5: that statement, I was going in saying, you know what 1124 00:51:57,120 --> 00:52:01,239 Speaker 5: I'm actually particularly excited I feel like is assembling a 1125 00:52:01,320 --> 00:52:05,480 Speaker 5: very interesting roster of free agents from the UFC who 1126 00:52:05,520 --> 00:52:08,399 Speaker 5: aren't over the hill like Shane Burgos. I think that's 1127 00:52:08,440 --> 00:52:12,040 Speaker 5: a massive signing for him. You're seeing comeback stories from 1128 00:52:12,160 --> 00:52:15,919 Speaker 5: UFC vets like Olive Oba Mercia and Clay Collard. You're 1129 00:52:16,040 --> 00:52:20,080 Speaker 5: building some new guys like how Schmann Fio, who you know, 1130 00:52:20,160 --> 00:52:22,520 Speaker 5: beat Anthony Pettis and won last year's season. And then 1131 00:52:22,560 --> 00:52:24,880 Speaker 5: you've got one of the guys in the Komman Yamato 1132 00:52:24,880 --> 00:52:29,799 Speaker 5: in Nishikawa, amazing fighter from Shooto. I think in totality 1133 00:52:29,840 --> 00:52:32,759 Speaker 5: they actually have a really interesting blend of fighters on 1134 00:52:32,800 --> 00:52:35,719 Speaker 5: their roster right now, but you wouldn't know that if 1135 00:52:35,760 --> 00:52:39,000 Speaker 5: you weren't really in the nitty gritty of things. They 1136 00:52:39,160 --> 00:52:43,160 Speaker 5: need some sort of pull right now that's gonna draw 1137 00:52:43,280 --> 00:52:46,880 Speaker 5: interest from people beyond those who watch everything with a 1138 00:52:47,280 --> 00:52:51,120 Speaker 5: fine tooth comb. Losing Kyla if that's the case, huge 1139 00:52:51,200 --> 00:52:54,720 Speaker 5: hit for him. Who knows what Jake Paul's boxing loss 1140 00:52:54,800 --> 00:52:57,200 Speaker 5: is gonna sort of do to his MMA aspirations because 1141 00:52:57,239 --> 00:52:58,759 Speaker 5: you know he's lost a lot of steam off that. 1142 00:52:58,880 --> 00:53:03,239 Speaker 5: I agree with you, there's not one major pull and 1143 00:53:03,280 --> 00:53:05,680 Speaker 5: they need someone because I think if they have that, 1144 00:53:05,800 --> 00:53:07,839 Speaker 5: it'll complete the package. Because I think there's a lot 1145 00:53:07,880 --> 00:53:10,640 Speaker 5: of interesting things just kind of bubbling beneath the surface 1146 00:53:10,640 --> 00:53:11,719 Speaker 5: of PFL right now. 1147 00:53:12,120 --> 00:53:14,719 Speaker 3: Man, if there was the UFC on one side, and 1148 00:53:14,719 --> 00:53:18,439 Speaker 3: then let's just call it the Megatron on the other side, 1149 00:53:18,480 --> 00:53:22,200 Speaker 3: and Megatron was PFL bellatorn one, it'd be a lot 1150 00:53:22,239 --> 00:53:23,160 Speaker 3: of fun you could do. 1151 00:53:23,680 --> 00:53:25,799 Speaker 4: You could really do something with a roster like that. 1152 00:53:26,600 --> 00:53:29,399 Speaker 5: Absolutely, I think you know, this is a case where, 1153 00:53:29,400 --> 00:53:35,040 Speaker 5: at least for me, I find pfl's free agency acquisitions 1154 00:53:35,080 --> 00:53:38,799 Speaker 5: a bit more interesting than Bellator, but Bellator has a 1155 00:53:38,840 --> 00:53:42,160 Speaker 5: lot more name value on the top end. If you 1156 00:53:42,200 --> 00:53:43,920 Speaker 5: could just combine those two and then throw in some 1157 00:53:43,960 --> 00:53:47,240 Speaker 5: of the things One Championship was doing, I mean, especially 1158 00:53:47,239 --> 00:53:49,600 Speaker 5: if he wins the trilogy, you still have arguably the 1159 00:53:49,640 --> 00:53:51,920 Speaker 5: best fighter on the planet over at one Championship with 1160 00:53:52,000 --> 00:53:55,080 Speaker 5: Demetrius Johnson. If those three could start doing some work together, 1161 00:53:55,239 --> 00:53:57,399 Speaker 5: I mean, there's no shortage of fights, and I would 1162 00:53:57,640 --> 00:54:00,279 Speaker 5: I would put that up against most UFC pay per 1163 00:54:00,360 --> 00:54:01,280 Speaker 5: views at this stage. 1164 00:54:01,640 --> 00:54:04,080 Speaker 3: Dude, can you imagine Demitrius Johnson at one thirty five 1165 00:54:04,160 --> 00:54:06,360 Speaker 3: versus Patriusio pimple insane. 1166 00:54:06,400 --> 00:54:08,759 Speaker 4: That'd be a lot of fun, to be a lot 1167 00:54:08,760 --> 00:54:09,040 Speaker 4: of fun. 1168 00:54:09,040 --> 00:54:10,719 Speaker 3: But going back to this PFL thing, it's just the 1169 00:54:11,160 --> 00:54:13,520 Speaker 3: reason why I expressed skepticism in the way that I do. 1170 00:54:13,640 --> 00:54:16,160 Speaker 3: Is certainly the casual fan I don't think has nearly 1171 00:54:16,239 --> 00:54:17,200 Speaker 3: enough awareness about them. 1172 00:54:17,200 --> 00:54:18,120 Speaker 4: That's one problem. 1173 00:54:18,480 --> 00:54:20,799 Speaker 3: But the other problem is, like, can you really make 1174 00:54:20,840 --> 00:54:23,560 Speaker 3: money and stay in business just doing nights like this. 1175 00:54:24,400 --> 00:54:25,279 Speaker 4: I don't think you can. 1176 00:54:25,400 --> 00:54:27,239 Speaker 3: I think in order to make money, to really stay 1177 00:54:27,239 --> 00:54:28,920 Speaker 3: in this business, you probably have to be in pay 1178 00:54:28,960 --> 00:54:31,839 Speaker 3: per view or their ratings have to go vastly through 1179 00:54:31,880 --> 00:54:33,960 Speaker 3: the roof, which means they can sell more ad inventory 1180 00:54:34,000 --> 00:54:36,400 Speaker 3: at a higher price and then justify the cost. Like 1181 00:54:36,480 --> 00:54:38,680 Speaker 3: right now they're just living off Fincher capital funding and 1182 00:54:39,000 --> 00:54:42,400 Speaker 3: whatever else. They're not really making money. And I'm not 1183 00:54:42,400 --> 00:54:44,400 Speaker 3: sure Belatory is or one is. I don't really know, 1184 00:54:44,440 --> 00:54:46,799 Speaker 3: but I for sure PFL is not. So it's more 1185 00:54:46,880 --> 00:54:50,200 Speaker 3: or less long term it's going to be pay per 1186 00:54:50,239 --> 00:54:52,120 Speaker 3: view or bust, and they have to buttress everything else 1187 00:54:52,719 --> 00:54:55,000 Speaker 3: with these nights like this. It's not one or the other, 1188 00:54:55,080 --> 00:54:56,600 Speaker 3: but in the end it has to lead to that, 1189 00:54:57,000 --> 00:54:58,919 Speaker 3: and I just don't see any meaningful traction. We'll see 1190 00:54:58,920 --> 00:55:02,160 Speaker 3: what happens with France, but then if they signed Francis, 1191 00:55:02,200 --> 00:55:04,160 Speaker 3: who the hell is he gonna fight? So it's some 1192 00:55:04,200 --> 00:55:07,200 Speaker 3: problems but okay, here we are PFL three for the 1193 00:55:07,280 --> 00:55:09,000 Speaker 3: twenty twenty three regular season. This will be at the 1194 00:55:09,000 --> 00:55:11,120 Speaker 3: theater at the Virgin Hotels. By the way, have you 1195 00:55:11,160 --> 00:55:12,200 Speaker 3: been to Vegas? 1196 00:55:13,200 --> 00:55:13,759 Speaker 4: Just got back? 1197 00:55:13,800 --> 00:55:16,200 Speaker 5: It was my bachelor party on Friday? 1198 00:55:16,640 --> 00:55:18,720 Speaker 3: Oh where did you? Where did you stay? You fucking degenerate? 1199 00:55:18,760 --> 00:55:21,600 Speaker 3: You probably have all kinds of chlamydia right now crawling over. 1200 00:55:21,440 --> 00:55:23,960 Speaker 5: Your gross uh dundas some of the people on that 1201 00:55:24,040 --> 00:55:24,840 Speaker 5: trip probably do. 1202 00:55:25,000 --> 00:55:28,680 Speaker 4: Let me tell you, we're just a Caesars. How was Caesars? 1203 00:55:28,719 --> 00:55:29,239 Speaker 4: I haven't stayed in. 1204 00:55:29,239 --> 00:55:32,560 Speaker 5: Caesars, bro We got a noise complaint at ten pm 1205 00:55:32,600 --> 00:55:36,320 Speaker 5: on a Saturday night. Why are you in Las Vegas 1206 00:55:36,360 --> 00:55:38,160 Speaker 5: if you can't handle a little bit of sound like 1207 00:55:38,239 --> 00:55:39,360 Speaker 5: pre midnight. 1208 00:55:39,000 --> 00:55:39,600 Speaker 4: On a weekend? 1209 00:55:40,200 --> 00:55:40,439 Speaker 2: Yeah? 1210 00:55:40,520 --> 00:55:42,080 Speaker 4: Well what were you guys? You know? 1211 00:55:42,200 --> 00:55:43,719 Speaker 3: I one time made a noise complaint at three in 1212 00:55:43,719 --> 00:55:45,799 Speaker 3: the afternoon in Vegas. But it's because the people next 1213 00:55:45,840 --> 00:55:50,080 Speaker 3: door brought a ping pong table into their room and 1214 00:55:50,120 --> 00:55:52,680 Speaker 3: I was like, fuck, no. 1215 00:55:52,800 --> 00:55:54,160 Speaker 4: Fuck that That's why. That's why. 1216 00:55:54,200 --> 00:55:55,799 Speaker 3: When now when I go, I don't stay. I don't 1217 00:55:55,800 --> 00:55:59,600 Speaker 3: stay at any hotel that has a casino. I don't 1218 00:56:00,520 --> 00:56:03,560 Speaker 3: without a casino in Vegas. Oh, yeah, Vedhara has no casino. 1219 00:56:03,840 --> 00:56:06,279 Speaker 3: MGM Signature has no casino. Yeah, there's a couple of them, 1220 00:56:06,360 --> 00:56:08,560 Speaker 3: m M shocking. Yeah, all right, But here's the point 1221 00:56:08,560 --> 00:56:10,480 Speaker 3: I want to make. It's at the Virgin One across 1222 00:56:10,520 --> 00:56:12,920 Speaker 3: the street from Virgin Hotels. Is an amazing place to 1223 00:56:12,920 --> 00:56:17,000 Speaker 3: buy marijuana, and Vegas just shouts to Midman, no sponsor, 1224 00:56:17,239 --> 00:56:18,319 Speaker 3: They don't sponsor me. 1225 00:56:18,760 --> 00:56:19,640 Speaker 4: But it's a. 1226 00:56:19,560 --> 00:56:21,839 Speaker 5: White castle that's never opened. It has like a point 1227 00:56:21,880 --> 00:56:22,800 Speaker 5: five star review. 1228 00:56:23,360 --> 00:56:26,120 Speaker 3: Dude, there's a seven eleven across the street from that 1229 00:56:26,200 --> 00:56:28,319 Speaker 3: Virgin Hotels. I swear to god, you go in there, 1230 00:56:28,360 --> 00:56:31,000 Speaker 3: you're gonna get knife. You're just gonna get knife. It's 1231 00:56:31,000 --> 00:56:33,320 Speaker 3: the worst place on earth, all right. But this PFL 1232 00:56:33,400 --> 00:56:35,040 Speaker 3: card there is gonna be a little bit of fun. 1233 00:56:35,400 --> 00:56:38,680 Speaker 3: Olivia Albin Marcier taking on Shane Burgos. What a fun fight. 1234 00:56:38,800 --> 00:56:41,479 Speaker 3: So Olivia Olivia Albin Marcier. You know, he did okay 1235 00:56:41,560 --> 00:56:44,120 Speaker 3: in UFC, kind of washed out in the end, but 1236 00:56:44,239 --> 00:56:45,560 Speaker 3: wasn't a bad fighter by any stretch. 1237 00:56:45,560 --> 00:56:46,280 Speaker 4: He was a good one. 1238 00:56:46,680 --> 00:56:49,480 Speaker 3: Goes over to PFL, wins the championship last season and 1239 00:56:49,560 --> 00:56:52,239 Speaker 3: now has to basically defend it against Shane Burgos, who 1240 00:56:52,280 --> 00:56:54,000 Speaker 3: was supposed to fight Morla mariaj and it fell apart. 1241 00:56:54,040 --> 00:56:54,520 Speaker 4: But here he is. 1242 00:56:54,560 --> 00:56:58,200 Speaker 3: Finally they have the osmakers have this one as even 1243 00:56:58,280 --> 00:57:01,200 Speaker 3: we know the strengths. Alvin Mars can strike, but he's 1244 00:57:01,200 --> 00:57:04,399 Speaker 3: also a good wrestler. Shane Burgos is all about these 1245 00:57:04,520 --> 00:57:07,040 Speaker 3: boy it's this or it's this or bust fast too. 1246 00:57:07,200 --> 00:57:09,359 Speaker 4: He's so fast. So give me a sense of what 1247 00:57:09,440 --> 00:57:11,120 Speaker 4: this fight is going to look like. 1248 00:57:12,000 --> 00:57:14,520 Speaker 5: Yeah, to your point, I think it's very much gonna 1249 00:57:14,560 --> 00:57:18,880 Speaker 5: look striker versus grappler. Shane Burgos really has one speed. 1250 00:57:18,880 --> 00:57:21,560 Speaker 5: It's all go, but there's a lot of movement involved 1251 00:57:21,560 --> 00:57:23,440 Speaker 5: and as a consequence, we don't see a lot of 1252 00:57:23,520 --> 00:57:25,920 Speaker 5: knockouts at the top level. It's actually one of the 1253 00:57:25,960 --> 00:57:28,800 Speaker 5: reasons I'm really excited he made this transition. I don't 1254 00:57:28,800 --> 00:57:31,480 Speaker 5: know what his primary incentive was. I'm sure the finance 1255 00:57:31,520 --> 00:57:34,480 Speaker 5: has played a big role. This was a great move 1256 00:57:34,520 --> 00:57:37,920 Speaker 5: for Shane Burgos, particularly because he left the UFC with 1257 00:57:38,040 --> 00:57:41,040 Speaker 5: consecutive wins over Billy Q and also fun fact right 1258 00:57:41,920 --> 00:57:44,480 Speaker 5: has the lost Edson Barbosa recently the win over Billy Q. 1259 00:57:45,200 --> 00:57:49,000 Speaker 5: All three guys fighting this week. I'm really excited to 1260 00:57:49,000 --> 00:57:50,800 Speaker 5: see what Shane does because I think this is a 1261 00:57:50,840 --> 00:57:54,760 Speaker 5: case where this isn't a this isn't a uh uh, 1262 00:57:55,040 --> 00:57:57,280 Speaker 5: what's what I'm looking This isn't a demotion for him. 1263 00:57:57,640 --> 00:58:00,440 Speaker 5: I think he's made a lateral movement. He's coming off 1264 00:58:00,440 --> 00:58:04,320 Speaker 5: two wins. I think his skills and power as a 1265 00:58:04,320 --> 00:58:06,200 Speaker 5: striker is going to carry over in ways that it 1266 00:58:06,240 --> 00:58:08,400 Speaker 5: maybe it didn't against the top fifteen of the UFC, 1267 00:58:08,640 --> 00:58:10,200 Speaker 5: and I think in a couple of years we could 1268 00:58:10,200 --> 00:58:12,640 Speaker 5: see him back within the UFC with a high profile 1269 00:58:12,720 --> 00:58:18,520 Speaker 5: and a better paycheck. Ohim looking tremendous. Six straight wins. 1270 00:58:18,520 --> 00:58:19,960 Speaker 5: It's going to be a tough fight. But if Shane 1271 00:58:20,000 --> 00:58:22,720 Speaker 5: Burgos is as good as he seemed to be in 1272 00:58:22,760 --> 00:58:25,080 Speaker 5: the UFC, you know, kind of struggling in the top ten, 1273 00:58:25,640 --> 00:58:29,760 Speaker 5: but a nightmare before that point, I think he could 1274 00:58:29,760 --> 00:58:32,200 Speaker 5: do really well for himself the next couple of years, 1275 00:58:32,240 --> 00:58:34,560 Speaker 5: and he might be one of those guys that PFL 1276 00:58:34,680 --> 00:58:35,680 Speaker 5: really starts. 1277 00:58:35,360 --> 00:58:35,840 Speaker 4: To lean on. 1278 00:58:36,720 --> 00:58:39,000 Speaker 3: I think it's a great signing for them. I really 1279 00:58:39,040 --> 00:58:41,200 Speaker 3: like Shane Burgos a lot. He's a good dude, he's 1280 00:58:41,200 --> 00:58:44,440 Speaker 3: a great fighter. The fans like him. He's exciting, he's talented. 1281 00:58:44,960 --> 00:58:47,600 Speaker 3: I think he also brings a real spark of life 1282 00:58:47,600 --> 00:58:51,080 Speaker 3: to this division as well, right now that the division's 1283 00:58:51,200 --> 00:58:53,120 Speaker 3: kind of like sad or whatever. 1284 00:58:53,560 --> 00:58:54,040 Speaker 4: But I don't know. 1285 00:58:54,080 --> 00:58:56,400 Speaker 3: Shane Bergos is electric. How many guys can you say 1286 00:58:56,400 --> 00:58:58,200 Speaker 3: on the PFL roster are electric? 1287 00:58:58,960 --> 00:58:59,080 Speaker 4: All? 1288 00:58:59,120 --> 00:59:02,160 Speaker 3: Ben Marcier is good and he's very he's the champion, 1289 00:59:02,640 --> 00:59:05,160 Speaker 3: but he's not electric in the same way that Burgos is. 1290 00:59:05,160 --> 00:59:07,760 Speaker 3: He might be better, but I just mean Burgos is 1291 00:59:07,800 --> 00:59:10,880 Speaker 3: good for fun. You just such a reliable guy for 1292 00:59:11,000 --> 00:59:14,240 Speaker 3: delivering both on high level MMA usually wins, but also 1293 00:59:14,320 --> 00:59:17,480 Speaker 3: just great exciting action. That's one of the better signings 1294 00:59:17,520 --> 00:59:19,880 Speaker 3: and more interesting signings I think that they've had in 1295 00:59:19,960 --> 00:59:20,479 Speaker 3: some time. 1296 00:59:20,920 --> 00:59:22,720 Speaker 5: Can I tell you how much of a madman Shane 1297 00:59:22,760 --> 00:59:25,640 Speaker 5: Burgos is, please? So he's a bit of a foodie, right, 1298 00:59:25,760 --> 00:59:28,360 Speaker 5: So during training camp he's always watching the Food Channel. 1299 00:59:28,520 --> 00:59:31,760 Speaker 5: On fight week, he takes his team to the restaurants 1300 00:59:31,760 --> 00:59:35,120 Speaker 5: that he's been wanting to try. He orders and watches 1301 00:59:35,160 --> 00:59:38,280 Speaker 5: them eat and describe it to him. 1302 00:59:38,680 --> 00:59:42,400 Speaker 4: What the why would you do that? Why would you 1303 00:59:42,480 --> 00:59:45,320 Speaker 4: do that? Dude? 1304 00:59:45,360 --> 00:59:47,560 Speaker 5: That's a that's a metal forging steal man. That's in 1305 00:59:47,600 --> 00:59:48,480 Speaker 5: fortitude right there. 1306 00:59:48,760 --> 00:59:51,640 Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's just torture. That's just tortures. Well, 1307 00:59:51,640 --> 00:59:53,400 Speaker 3: I wouldn't even know what the point of that would 1308 00:59:53,400 --> 00:59:54,640 Speaker 3: be except to just hurt yourself. 1309 00:59:54,800 --> 00:59:55,280 Speaker 2: My god. 1310 00:59:56,240 --> 00:59:58,000 Speaker 4: H well, you know what, he's a different breed. 1311 00:59:58,280 --> 01:00:00,200 Speaker 3: The rest of his car's got some interesting name, but 1312 01:00:00,240 --> 01:00:01,720 Speaker 3: it's very pfl e Yes. 1313 01:00:02,240 --> 01:00:04,040 Speaker 4: So sadebu C is a good fighter. 1314 01:00:04,320 --> 01:00:04,440 Speaker 2: Uh. 1315 01:00:05,200 --> 01:00:07,240 Speaker 3: He has really approven himself, a guy out of Sweden 1316 01:00:07,280 --> 01:00:09,680 Speaker 3: and now I think he's at extreme Coutur taken on 1317 01:00:09,920 --> 01:00:13,400 Speaker 3: Jara l. Silawi. He's expected to win, but more striker 1318 01:00:13,440 --> 01:00:15,960 Speaker 3: than anything else. He's pretty exciting. Natan Schult taken on 1319 01:00:16,000 --> 01:00:19,439 Speaker 3: Stevie Ray fun contest. Stevie Ray, by the way, really 1320 01:00:19,520 --> 01:00:21,439 Speaker 3: kind of just sort of making a name for himself 1321 01:00:21,480 --> 01:00:23,560 Speaker 3: of this organization with with the wins over Pettus and 1322 01:00:23,600 --> 01:00:27,160 Speaker 3: the way that he had them. So that's pretty impressive. 1323 01:00:27,160 --> 01:00:29,840 Speaker 3: But Schult is a he's a he's a tough fucking 1324 01:00:29,840 --> 01:00:33,200 Speaker 3: guy to handle. Houschmann Fio is back against Alexander Martinez. 1325 01:00:33,400 --> 01:00:36,280 Speaker 3: Clay Collard his back. How about old Clay Collard right 1326 01:00:36,600 --> 01:00:39,919 Speaker 3: taking on Yama Yamato Nishikawa and then Mega Man Mega 1327 01:00:39,920 --> 01:00:41,600 Speaker 3: Man Karamov is on this card as well, by the. 1328 01:00:41,560 --> 01:00:45,000 Speaker 4: Way, at a minus nine hundred favorite. 1329 01:00:45,000 --> 01:00:47,120 Speaker 3: He is one of the very best guys on that roster, 1330 01:00:47,480 --> 01:00:49,480 Speaker 3: and he's probably gonna give Old ben Egley or every 1331 01:00:49,480 --> 01:00:52,160 Speaker 3: pronounce his name the fucking business anything stand up to 1332 01:00:52,160 --> 01:00:52,880 Speaker 3: you about this card. 1333 01:00:53,160 --> 01:00:55,480 Speaker 5: I actually really liked the Nishikawa fight I was kind 1334 01:00:55,480 --> 01:00:57,600 Speaker 5: of doing. He was supposed to debut at UFC two eighty, 1335 01:00:57,680 --> 01:01:00,720 Speaker 5: that's the Charles Oliver versus nakot Chev fight. There was 1336 01:01:00,720 --> 01:01:03,760 Speaker 5: some sort of contract dispute I think regarding his stance 1337 01:01:03,840 --> 01:01:07,960 Speaker 5: with Shooto. It didn't work out. But ten fight winning 1338 01:01:08,000 --> 01:01:11,400 Speaker 5: streak between twenty twenty and twenty twenty two. This guy 1339 01:01:11,480 --> 01:01:15,840 Speaker 5: is supremely active thirty fights despite just debuting in twenty sixteen, 1340 01:01:16,120 --> 01:01:19,800 Speaker 5: eighty percent of his wins by stoppage. It's always interesting 1341 01:01:19,880 --> 01:01:22,720 Speaker 5: saying how a guy with that sort of output makes 1342 01:01:22,720 --> 01:01:25,080 Speaker 5: the transition to a bigger organization. I'm actually happy to 1343 01:01:25,080 --> 01:01:27,760 Speaker 5: see him in PFL versus UFC because I think it's 1344 01:01:27,800 --> 01:01:29,680 Speaker 5: a little bit more of a sort of a modest 1345 01:01:29,800 --> 01:01:32,480 Speaker 5: step up in competition and one where we can see 1346 01:01:32,520 --> 01:01:35,760 Speaker 5: if that sort of exciting style pays off. Clay Collard, 1347 01:01:35,800 --> 01:01:39,360 Speaker 5: we know, is a gamer, great boxing. Those wins over 1348 01:01:39,400 --> 01:01:42,440 Speaker 5: Anthony Pettis and Jeremy Stevens, I think really established him 1349 01:01:42,480 --> 01:01:43,360 Speaker 5: as a pfller. 1350 01:01:44,080 --> 01:01:45,840 Speaker 3: So man, I think that could be your fight of 1351 01:01:45,840 --> 01:01:48,840 Speaker 3: the night. I'm looking at his record on PFL. He 1352 01:01:48,880 --> 01:01:51,760 Speaker 3: has a loss to Nuki Narita. This happened in twenty 1353 01:01:51,800 --> 01:01:56,080 Speaker 3: eighteen and it says loss via bleeding three twenty five 1354 01:01:56,360 --> 01:02:00,320 Speaker 3: rown two. I haven't seen that contest, but now I 1355 01:02:00,360 --> 01:02:00,640 Speaker 3: have to. 1356 01:02:00,840 --> 01:02:02,000 Speaker 4: That should be a lot of fun. 1357 01:02:02,480 --> 01:02:05,280 Speaker 3: Let's get to some fight news and announcements if we can. 1358 01:02:05,400 --> 01:02:06,880 Speaker 3: This will be in your neck of the woods, so 1359 01:02:06,960 --> 01:02:10,520 Speaker 3: let's talk about it. I will tell you something. I 1360 01:02:10,560 --> 01:02:13,000 Speaker 3: don't love this fight. I don't love this fight. I 1361 01:02:13,000 --> 01:02:15,240 Speaker 3: don't I'm not gonna sit here and defend this fight. 1362 01:02:15,720 --> 01:02:19,120 Speaker 3: Amanda Nunez taken on Juliana Pana three, UFC two eighty nine, 1363 01:02:19,200 --> 01:02:20,400 Speaker 3: June tenth, Vancouver, all. 1364 01:02:20,320 --> 01:02:23,560 Speaker 4: Right, I don't hate this fight. 1365 01:02:24,560 --> 01:02:27,480 Speaker 3: They could have done Nunez versus Home based on her 1366 01:02:27,560 --> 01:02:30,080 Speaker 3: last performance and I wouldn't have hated it, and maybe 1367 01:02:30,080 --> 01:02:32,200 Speaker 3: the fans would have liked that more, but I doubt that. 1368 01:02:33,240 --> 01:02:34,960 Speaker 3: I'm not saying this is the most exciting fight in 1369 01:02:34,960 --> 01:02:37,600 Speaker 3: the world. But I don't get what's if it's your 1370 01:02:37,640 --> 01:02:40,600 Speaker 3: headliner and you're you're waiting for UFC to go back 1371 01:02:40,600 --> 01:02:43,080 Speaker 3: to Canada, and this is what they bring. I get 1372 01:02:43,080 --> 01:02:46,600 Speaker 3: the disappointment, but objectively, as a fight, I don't get 1373 01:02:46,640 --> 01:02:50,560 Speaker 3: what's so awful about it. In the following sense, Pana 1374 01:02:50,600 --> 01:02:52,959 Speaker 3: has one win, Nunas has another. I think most people 1375 01:02:52,960 --> 01:02:55,040 Speaker 3: think that the Nuna's second win was more indicative of 1376 01:02:55,080 --> 01:02:58,280 Speaker 3: their two levels of ability, but she had to change 1377 01:02:58,280 --> 01:03:02,960 Speaker 3: her stance just to deal with the jazz ab of PAINA. Uh, 1378 01:03:03,160 --> 01:03:05,960 Speaker 3: you're gonna get action. You're probably gonna get people getting 1379 01:03:06,000 --> 01:03:08,440 Speaker 3: dropped in this one or choked out like, there's gonna 1380 01:03:08,480 --> 01:03:11,160 Speaker 3: be violence through the whole weight on this one. Just 1381 01:03:11,160 --> 01:03:14,880 Speaker 3: by virtue of how they match up. There are definitely 1382 01:03:14,960 --> 01:03:17,240 Speaker 3: worst fights they could have brought. Tell me what is 1383 01:03:17,440 --> 01:03:18,720 Speaker 3: so awful about this fight? 1384 01:03:19,920 --> 01:03:21,880 Speaker 5: Before I do, I want to point how awful your 1385 01:03:21,920 --> 01:03:24,160 Speaker 5: memory is. Because Mikey just reminded me we were in 1386 01:03:24,200 --> 01:03:25,400 Speaker 5: Vegas together last year. 1387 01:03:25,480 --> 01:03:29,640 Speaker 4: Dude, Yes we were, of course, yes we were. How 1388 01:03:29,640 --> 01:03:33,240 Speaker 4: can I fucking for jesus dude, Wow, we spent no 1389 01:03:32,920 --> 01:03:34,720 Speaker 4: hold now that when we're in Vegas together, we spent 1390 01:03:34,920 --> 01:03:37,400 Speaker 4: days together. Oh yeah, I was there. 1391 01:03:37,440 --> 01:03:40,800 Speaker 5: I was there for the notorious uh brew House episode. 1392 01:03:40,800 --> 01:03:43,960 Speaker 4: Of morning. Oh right, we had dinner together. We did, 1393 01:03:43,960 --> 01:03:45,600 Speaker 4: although at that point I was I had a lot 1394 01:03:45,640 --> 01:03:47,480 Speaker 4: going on in my mind. You can well imagine. I 1395 01:03:47,520 --> 01:03:49,520 Speaker 4: was like, Wow, did my career just go up in flames? 1396 01:03:49,560 --> 01:03:52,480 Speaker 5: But okay, what I told you, I told you you 1397 01:03:52,520 --> 01:03:54,480 Speaker 5: guys were also down. I told you people are gonna 1398 01:03:54,520 --> 01:03:56,040 Speaker 5: love that episode. 1399 01:03:55,920 --> 01:03:58,280 Speaker 4: In a weird way. They did, but they also hated 1400 01:03:58,320 --> 01:03:59,960 Speaker 4: it too, you know what I mean? All right? 1401 01:04:00,120 --> 01:04:03,400 Speaker 5: Sorry, Nun's Penia three. Yeah, I mean, as a if 1402 01:04:03,440 --> 01:04:06,120 Speaker 5: you're a Canadian UFC fan, you've come to expect that. 1403 01:04:06,280 --> 01:04:09,440 Speaker 5: Like we talked about how much the UFC charges for 1404 01:04:09,480 --> 01:04:12,120 Speaker 5: tickets because they can, We've come to expect that because 1405 01:04:12,160 --> 01:04:15,560 Speaker 5: we're so deprived of UFC up here that when they come, 1406 01:04:15,560 --> 01:04:17,360 Speaker 5: they're not going to bring their very best. I mean, 1407 01:04:17,400 --> 01:04:21,000 Speaker 5: we're we're a long ways away removed from GSP versus 1408 01:04:21,080 --> 01:04:26,720 Speaker 5: Jake Shields in Toronto. I do agree, though, that the 1409 01:04:26,800 --> 01:04:30,200 Speaker 5: fight makes sense relatively. I think I would have liked 1410 01:04:30,240 --> 01:04:33,360 Speaker 5: to see the Arena Aldana fight, particularly because Mexico is 1411 01:04:33,400 --> 01:04:36,560 Speaker 5: on just such a crazy wave of momentum. It doesn't 1412 01:04:36,640 --> 01:04:40,720 Speaker 5: look like we're getting that moreno fight in Mexico soon, though. 1413 01:04:40,760 --> 01:04:43,240 Speaker 5: If we did, maybe circumstances would have been a little 1414 01:04:43,240 --> 01:04:46,640 Speaker 5: bit different. The Newn's Penia fight is fine. I think 1415 01:04:47,880 --> 01:04:50,760 Speaker 5: where people may be taking issue with it is that 1416 01:04:54,200 --> 01:04:55,880 Speaker 5: kind of like with Izzy and Patata. In a way, 1417 01:04:55,920 --> 01:04:59,120 Speaker 5: it's like when a champion reclaims their title in the 1418 01:04:59,160 --> 01:05:01,640 Speaker 5: immediate rematch and they do so as dominantly as nun 1419 01:05:01,680 --> 01:05:04,840 Speaker 5: As did over Penya, what reason do we have to 1420 01:05:04,880 --> 01:05:07,440 Speaker 5: believe that the third fight is going to be as competitive. 1421 01:05:07,440 --> 01:05:10,440 Speaker 5: It seems like when a champion can make the adjustments 1422 01:05:10,480 --> 01:05:13,440 Speaker 5: immediately after losing a fight against an underdog, I think 1423 01:05:13,520 --> 01:05:16,520 Speaker 5: we kind of have a sense that the champion is 1424 01:05:16,560 --> 01:05:18,680 Speaker 5: the better fighter and that they slipped up. It was 1425 01:05:18,720 --> 01:05:20,560 Speaker 5: either a poor night of the office or they ran 1426 01:05:20,600 --> 01:05:23,440 Speaker 5: into the wrong game plan. But that ability to adjust 1427 01:05:23,440 --> 01:05:26,920 Speaker 5: sort of cements them as Noon has earned a right 1428 01:05:26,960 --> 01:05:28,480 Speaker 5: to an immediate rematch, you know, I don't know that 1429 01:05:28,560 --> 01:05:31,560 Speaker 5: Julia Penna has earned a right to an immediate rematch, 1430 01:05:32,000 --> 01:05:33,080 Speaker 5: but there's not a lot. 1431 01:05:32,960 --> 01:05:34,000 Speaker 4: Of matchups you can make. 1432 01:05:34,720 --> 01:05:37,640 Speaker 5: I would I have a lot of faith in Aldanna. 1433 01:05:37,720 --> 01:05:39,560 Speaker 5: I wouldn't be mad to see her get one more 1434 01:05:39,600 --> 01:05:42,640 Speaker 5: fight before the Noon has one, just to really tighten everything. 1435 01:05:43,080 --> 01:05:45,280 Speaker 5: I think the biggest sort of faux pa of all 1436 01:05:45,320 --> 01:05:47,880 Speaker 5: this is it's just not an exciting main event for 1437 01:05:47,920 --> 01:05:49,840 Speaker 5: a pay per view, especially if you don't have. 1438 01:05:49,880 --> 01:05:51,360 Speaker 4: Something big underneath it. 1439 01:05:51,640 --> 01:05:54,440 Speaker 5: If you can buoy that with something really strong, like 1440 01:05:54,480 --> 01:05:57,120 Speaker 5: a Gilbert Burns versus Jode masvidoal fight, that's at least 1441 01:05:57,120 --> 01:06:00,000 Speaker 5: gonna drum up casual interest. It's great, but the closest 1442 01:06:00,160 --> 01:06:03,200 Speaker 5: thing we have right now is Wonder Boy versus Michelle Peira. 1443 01:06:03,400 --> 01:06:05,680 Speaker 5: So there's just not enough meat to it. Like newn 1444 01:06:05,720 --> 01:06:09,320 Speaker 5: Azvesuspania three needs some support and it doesn't have it yet, 1445 01:06:09,360 --> 01:06:11,120 Speaker 5: and I think that's a portion of why people are 1446 01:06:11,160 --> 01:06:12,240 Speaker 5: so disappointed with it. 1447 01:06:12,480 --> 01:06:14,440 Speaker 3: So there's sort of two questions here. One would be 1448 01:06:14,480 --> 01:06:17,440 Speaker 3: who else would you book against Amanda? You could say Aldonovo. 1449 01:06:17,480 --> 01:06:20,560 Speaker 3: Would that really change people's opinions about that as a headliner? 1450 01:06:20,880 --> 01:06:20,960 Speaker 4: Some? 1451 01:06:21,320 --> 01:06:24,000 Speaker 3: I think some, but probably not greatly. Or they could 1452 01:06:24,040 --> 01:06:26,960 Speaker 3: have just had another champion headline, But which one would 1453 01:06:27,000 --> 01:06:27,439 Speaker 3: it be? 1454 01:06:27,600 --> 01:06:27,760 Speaker 4: Like? 1455 01:06:28,040 --> 01:06:30,800 Speaker 3: So for all the fans complaining, what would be the 1456 01:06:30,840 --> 01:06:32,640 Speaker 3: alternative based on who's available? 1457 01:06:32,640 --> 01:06:34,959 Speaker 4: Who could fit into the calendar? I don't know. Let's 1458 01:06:34,960 --> 01:06:36,080 Speaker 4: see who is available. 1459 01:06:37,800 --> 01:06:41,880 Speaker 5: I mean, I guess they could have brought Mario up here, 1460 01:06:41,920 --> 01:06:46,200 Speaker 5: but that's not happening. They could have Sterling's I mean, 1461 01:06:46,240 --> 01:06:48,080 Speaker 5: I think I think Canadian fans would love. 1462 01:06:47,960 --> 01:06:50,280 Speaker 4: That Sterling, Sterling and Suhudo. 1463 01:06:51,320 --> 01:06:54,200 Speaker 5: That's already booked though, so you can't do that. Volkanovski. 1464 01:06:55,920 --> 01:06:58,000 Speaker 5: I think I think a lot of things being booked 1465 01:06:58,000 --> 01:07:00,960 Speaker 5: for International Fight Week one month later probably strip this card. 1466 01:07:01,200 --> 01:07:03,720 Speaker 4: It hurts, right, that's exactly right, right, that's exactly. 1467 01:07:03,440 --> 01:07:06,200 Speaker 5: What ifw I don't know what's happening with Jones versus 1468 01:07:06,240 --> 01:07:08,480 Speaker 5: Meo chich It doesn't seem like right now there's that 1469 01:07:08,720 --> 01:07:12,360 Speaker 5: one really big fight that you would usually top off 1470 01:07:12,360 --> 01:07:14,680 Speaker 5: International Fight League left. So I think they've had to 1471 01:07:14,800 --> 01:07:18,480 Speaker 5: draw from a lot of slightly smaller championship fights that 1472 01:07:18,520 --> 01:07:20,320 Speaker 5: they could make to sort of try and boost things, 1473 01:07:20,360 --> 01:07:22,080 Speaker 5: And I think it's gonna strip everything. 1474 01:07:21,800 --> 01:07:23,280 Speaker 4: Around the summer as a consequence. 1475 01:07:23,880 --> 01:07:26,520 Speaker 3: All Right, you mentioned it, Steven wonder Boy Thompson taking 1476 01:07:26,560 --> 01:07:30,040 Speaker 3: on Michelle Padaya also UFC two eighty nine, June tenth. Again, 1477 01:07:30,280 --> 01:07:33,560 Speaker 3: fine fight, nothing wrong with the fight, fine fight, but 1478 01:07:34,440 --> 01:07:36,480 Speaker 3: that card's gonna need some help. I agree that, like 1479 01:07:36,520 --> 01:07:38,080 Speaker 3: if what you have is a man, it is Virgulian 1480 01:07:38,080 --> 01:07:39,840 Speaker 3: Oapaion it's not a whole lot to get excited about. 1481 01:07:40,200 --> 01:07:42,400 Speaker 3: But then when you add in the rest of those, 1482 01:07:42,400 --> 01:07:44,480 Speaker 3: which these are the it's you know what it is. 1483 01:07:44,520 --> 01:07:46,920 Speaker 3: It's a it's a it's a fight night with a 1484 01:07:46,960 --> 01:07:47,720 Speaker 3: title fight at the top. 1485 01:07:47,760 --> 01:07:50,000 Speaker 5: It's really would we stopped doing that they used to 1486 01:07:50,040 --> 01:07:53,440 Speaker 5: do for fight nights and it was great? You could, 1487 01:07:53,440 --> 01:07:55,640 Speaker 5: that's so much more. I'm so okay to accept that 1488 01:07:55,720 --> 01:07:57,480 Speaker 5: as a fight night headliner. 1489 01:07:57,240 --> 01:08:00,000 Speaker 3: Right because they're gonna charge probably a ship ton of 1490 01:08:00,160 --> 01:08:01,920 Speaker 3: the gate, Whereas if it was a fight night, it 1491 01:08:02,000 --> 01:08:04,120 Speaker 3: probably be in a different venue. Maybe it wouldn't be 1492 01:08:04,120 --> 01:08:06,760 Speaker 3: in Vancouver necessarily, but it might be more accessible. I'm 1493 01:08:06,760 --> 01:08:08,720 Speaker 3: guessing it's just the best way to get Amanda paid 1494 01:08:09,080 --> 01:08:11,880 Speaker 3: because when they did it for let's say, Demetrius Johnson, 1495 01:08:12,080 --> 01:08:14,320 Speaker 3: he wasn't getting pay per viewpoints, so it just didn't matter. 1496 01:08:14,600 --> 01:08:17,760 Speaker 3: Her contract might in fact call for it, but it's 1497 01:08:17,800 --> 01:08:19,240 Speaker 3: hard to say anyway. 1498 01:08:19,680 --> 01:08:23,440 Speaker 5: Sorry, fun fact, Michelle Pereira. Last time he fought in Vancouver. 1499 01:08:24,080 --> 01:08:26,880 Speaker 5: The last time UFC came to Vancouver to Canada was 1500 01:08:26,960 --> 01:08:31,599 Speaker 5: Vancouver twenty nineteen. Gay Chie SERRONI. That's the one where 1501 01:08:31,640 --> 01:08:35,040 Speaker 5: he botched his way terribly gassed himself dancing to the 1502 01:08:35,040 --> 01:08:38,280 Speaker 5: octagon and then lost to local fighter Tristan Connolly, who 1503 01:08:38,320 --> 01:08:40,120 Speaker 5: was not even with the UFC anymore. So this is 1504 01:08:40,160 --> 01:08:42,240 Speaker 5: a bit of a chance for Michelle to right or 1505 01:08:42,240 --> 01:08:44,400 Speaker 5: wrong there, because I think Tristan got like both of 1506 01:08:44,439 --> 01:08:47,080 Speaker 5: their fight night checks that night and. 1507 01:08:47,000 --> 01:08:50,880 Speaker 3: Then go to the strip clubs that you have visited 1508 01:08:50,960 --> 01:08:54,080 Speaker 3: so many times. How about this UFC two ninety International 1509 01:08:54,160 --> 01:08:56,280 Speaker 3: Fight Week, and this fight is not on this card 1510 01:08:56,360 --> 01:08:59,960 Speaker 3: by accident or happenstance. Bow Nickel taken on Treyshawn Gold 1511 01:09:00,120 --> 01:09:02,760 Speaker 3: or again July eighth at the T Mobile Arena, and 1512 01:09:02,800 --> 01:09:05,639 Speaker 3: I think it's a team mobile in Las Vegas, Nevada. 1513 01:09:06,040 --> 01:09:10,479 Speaker 3: Bon Nickel, Treyshawn Gore. I like that they're not giving 1514 01:09:10,520 --> 01:09:12,360 Speaker 3: bon Nickel top rated. 1515 01:09:12,080 --> 01:09:13,000 Speaker 4: Guys just yet. 1516 01:09:13,040 --> 01:09:16,800 Speaker 3: I think a semi not a slow roll a shack, 1517 01:09:17,040 --> 01:09:19,920 Speaker 3: but a semi slow roll is the right call here. 1518 01:09:19,960 --> 01:09:21,439 Speaker 4: This is a good next opponent for him. 1519 01:09:21,680 --> 01:09:25,479 Speaker 5: Yeah, we talk so much about how poor of a 1520 01:09:25,600 --> 01:09:29,760 Speaker 5: job UFC does with managing their prospects, whether they're young 1521 01:09:29,840 --> 01:09:32,639 Speaker 5: prospects or new prospects. I mean, we're just coming off 1522 01:09:32,680 --> 01:09:36,240 Speaker 5: of the role Rosas Junior fight, where you know, all 1523 01:09:36,280 --> 01:09:39,120 Speaker 5: that steam all that fan engagement and it just went 1524 01:09:39,280 --> 01:09:41,160 Speaker 5: plummeting down a hill because they gave him the wrong 1525 01:09:41,200 --> 01:09:44,599 Speaker 5: guy at the wrong time. Bonnickel told me he expects 1526 01:09:44,720 --> 01:09:46,320 Speaker 5: to be like in a position to fight for a 1527 01:09:46,320 --> 01:09:48,880 Speaker 5: title by the end of this year. I don't want 1528 01:09:48,920 --> 01:09:51,559 Speaker 5: to see that. Just give the guy time, let him 1529 01:09:51,600 --> 01:09:55,960 Speaker 5: work the kings out. You have such an important prospect 1530 01:09:56,000 --> 01:09:59,439 Speaker 5: on your hands here. There's a long term investment to 1531 01:09:59,479 --> 01:10:02,720 Speaker 5: be made in Bickel. This is a perfect matchup for him, 1532 01:10:02,760 --> 01:10:05,519 Speaker 5: all things considered, Let's just take our time. 1533 01:10:05,560 --> 01:10:08,040 Speaker 4: People, Uh, completely agreed. 1534 01:10:08,120 --> 01:10:10,799 Speaker 3: I expect Bonnicol to look good, but it's it's a 1535 01:10:10,840 --> 01:10:12,559 Speaker 3: piece by piece on this one. How about this one? 1536 01:10:12,640 --> 01:10:15,479 Speaker 3: UFC Fight Night two twenty four. This will be May twentieth, 1537 01:10:15,520 --> 01:10:18,120 Speaker 3: so just around the corner, really, Michael Johnson, who just 1538 01:10:18,160 --> 01:10:21,240 Speaker 3: signed like an eight billion fight deal in terms of 1539 01:10:21,280 --> 01:10:24,080 Speaker 3: the number of fights on it, taken on Carlos Diego Fajeda. 1540 01:10:24,200 --> 01:10:28,200 Speaker 3: I love this contest. Do you love it as much 1541 01:10:28,240 --> 01:10:30,000 Speaker 3: as I do? Because here's the thing. Michael Johnson has 1542 01:10:30,080 --> 01:10:32,320 Speaker 3: kind of had a bit of a late rebound ish 1543 01:10:32,640 --> 01:10:35,479 Speaker 3: more recently, and Diego Fajeda has kind of fallen off 1544 01:10:35,560 --> 01:10:37,800 Speaker 3: after having a previous late rebound, but it's still good 1545 01:10:37,920 --> 01:10:39,839 Speaker 3: enough to make this a fun competitive contest. 1546 01:10:40,080 --> 01:10:42,600 Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. When I first saw the fight, I was 1547 01:10:42,640 --> 01:10:46,560 Speaker 5: really concerned for Michael Johnson because I have this memory 1548 01:10:46,680 --> 01:10:50,519 Speaker 5: of Carlos DIEOFEA being such a killer at this stage, 1549 01:10:50,520 --> 01:10:51,800 Speaker 5: and then I had to actually go and look at 1550 01:10:51,800 --> 01:10:53,479 Speaker 5: the rise of them. I'm like, no, we're we're on 1551 01:10:53,479 --> 01:10:55,639 Speaker 5: a three fight losing streak. We've kind of fallen off 1552 01:10:55,680 --> 01:10:58,879 Speaker 5: of that. I'm happy with the matchup. 1553 01:10:59,160 --> 01:10:59,400 Speaker 2: Man. 1554 01:11:00,320 --> 01:11:03,040 Speaker 5: Michael Johnson is just one of those guys like I 1555 01:11:03,120 --> 01:11:07,240 Speaker 5: have such a hard time. He's so much fun to 1556 01:11:07,400 --> 01:11:09,000 Speaker 5: watch when he's on and you want to see the 1557 01:11:09,040 --> 01:11:11,880 Speaker 5: guy succeed, But it's so hard to get invested in 1558 01:11:11,960 --> 01:11:14,439 Speaker 5: the rise because there's just been so many falls. Like 1559 01:11:15,160 --> 01:11:17,960 Speaker 5: you see the guy that lost four consecutive fights to 1560 01:11:18,080 --> 01:11:21,000 Speaker 5: Clay ged Thiago Moys with Stevie Ray and Josh Emmed, 1561 01:11:21,080 --> 01:11:24,400 Speaker 5: and then you tell me that same guy beat Dustin Porier, 1562 01:11:24,800 --> 01:11:28,840 Speaker 5: beat Edson Barbosa, beat Tony Ferguson. Like, it's just been 1563 01:11:29,040 --> 01:11:33,200 Speaker 5: such an unusual up and down that I have a 1564 01:11:33,240 --> 01:11:36,879 Speaker 5: hard time getting invested too much in the comeback story. 1565 01:11:37,160 --> 01:11:38,960 Speaker 5: But I would really love to see if you see 1566 01:11:39,000 --> 01:11:40,760 Speaker 5: it happen, I. 1567 01:11:40,720 --> 01:11:41,200 Speaker 4: Agree with you. 1568 01:11:41,439 --> 01:11:42,680 Speaker 3: And by the way, some of those wins, like the 1569 01:11:42,720 --> 01:11:45,080 Speaker 3: win of a poorier, he stopped him. I think Barbosa 1570 01:11:45,280 --> 01:11:46,879 Speaker 3: stopped him as well. I'm not mistaken. 1571 01:11:47,360 --> 01:11:50,400 Speaker 4: Can Justin Gage run for his money too, had him 1572 01:11:50,439 --> 01:11:51,560 Speaker 4: hurt bad. 1573 01:11:51,720 --> 01:11:55,439 Speaker 3: So he's when he's on, well, he's on. It just 1574 01:11:55,520 --> 01:11:57,360 Speaker 3: seems to be somewhat dependent on the night. And then 1575 01:11:57,360 --> 01:12:03,120 Speaker 3: the opponent, fellow Canadian Hakeem Duadu taking on Lucas Almeta, 1576 01:12:03,320 --> 01:12:05,360 Speaker 3: same card, UFC two eighty nine, June tenth. 1577 01:12:05,840 --> 01:12:06,720 Speaker 4: Not a bad fight at all. 1578 01:12:06,720 --> 01:12:07,920 Speaker 3: I don't know where they're gonna put it on the 1579 01:12:07,960 --> 01:12:09,960 Speaker 3: card shock, but you can't complex us. 1580 01:12:10,000 --> 01:12:12,439 Speaker 4: It's a very very acceptable fight to put on the car. 1581 01:12:12,760 --> 01:12:15,360 Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, we we Canadians are just like grasping 1582 01:12:15,400 --> 01:12:17,720 Speaker 5: its straws for our next guy. And a lot of 1583 01:12:17,760 --> 01:12:20,040 Speaker 5: people thought Hakim was gonna be that guy. It hasn't 1584 01:12:20,080 --> 01:12:23,680 Speaker 5: quite panned out, but I. 1585 01:12:23,640 --> 01:12:25,240 Speaker 4: Would like he's still very good. 1586 01:12:25,400 --> 01:12:28,400 Speaker 3: He's still very athletic, very he's a very good striker. 1587 01:12:29,280 --> 01:12:30,519 Speaker 4: I've got a lot of injuries too. 1588 01:12:30,560 --> 01:12:32,400 Speaker 5: I think both a lot of injuries are messed up 1589 01:12:33,120 --> 01:12:34,920 Speaker 5: for a long time there that he said that was 1590 01:12:35,320 --> 01:12:37,719 Speaker 5: contributing to the lack of knockouts that people were expecting. 1591 01:12:37,760 --> 01:12:39,719 Speaker 5: He's like, dude, I was fighting with two busters shoulders, 1592 01:12:39,720 --> 01:12:41,719 Speaker 5: so I don't know what it is the shoulders in MMA, 1593 01:12:41,840 --> 01:12:43,440 Speaker 5: but continues. 1594 01:12:43,080 --> 01:12:46,960 Speaker 4: To they get mangled, they get mangled, trust me. All right? 1595 01:12:46,960 --> 01:12:48,960 Speaker 3: How about this one? This one I like the most 1596 01:12:49,040 --> 01:12:52,120 Speaker 3: maybe of all the ones. On this one, Amanda Hebas 1597 01:12:52,200 --> 01:12:54,680 Speaker 3: taking on Macy Barber. This will be UFC Fight Night 1598 01:12:54,880 --> 01:12:59,080 Speaker 3: to twenty seven, June twenty fourth. Uh, here's why I 1599 01:12:59,120 --> 01:13:01,600 Speaker 3: love this contest, mace. So, for example, we'll start with 1600 01:13:01,680 --> 01:13:02,400 Speaker 3: Amanda Hebas. 1601 01:13:02,400 --> 01:13:03,720 Speaker 4: So she loses to Marina. 1602 01:13:03,400 --> 01:13:07,759 Speaker 3: Hadriguez badly back at the rematch between Pourrier and McGregor 1603 01:13:07,800 --> 01:13:08,960 Speaker 3: on Fight Island, and I. 1604 01:13:08,960 --> 01:13:10,360 Speaker 4: Was like, oh, that was really bad. 1605 01:13:10,760 --> 01:13:14,960 Speaker 3: Rebounded against Jenji Roba, lost again to Kitlyn Chukegan although 1606 01:13:14,960 --> 01:13:19,080 Speaker 3: it split, but then rebounds against Vivian al Raujo Okay. 1607 01:13:19,720 --> 01:13:23,479 Speaker 3: Macy Barber after losing all the way back in two 1608 01:13:23,479 --> 01:13:26,439 Speaker 3: times in a row to Mota Ferry and Grosso has 1609 01:13:26,439 --> 01:13:30,799 Speaker 3: had four wins split decision, unanimous, unanimous split. 1610 01:13:31,680 --> 01:13:32,799 Speaker 4: She's had a few of these. 1611 01:13:32,680 --> 01:13:35,320 Speaker 3: Wins man that have been by the skin of her teeth, 1612 01:13:35,640 --> 01:13:38,320 Speaker 3: Heboss looks to be a little bit rejuvenated from the 1613 01:13:38,360 --> 01:13:43,240 Speaker 3: previous loss to Hadriguez. Size this one up for me 1614 01:13:43,320 --> 01:13:45,320 Speaker 3: between Hebas and Barber. 1615 01:13:45,600 --> 01:13:47,879 Speaker 5: Okay, I'm confirming this one's at flyweight, correct. 1616 01:13:48,320 --> 01:13:50,680 Speaker 4: I believe that's right. Let me double check here it 1617 01:13:50,880 --> 01:13:51,839 Speaker 4: says flyweight. 1618 01:13:51,960 --> 01:13:55,000 Speaker 5: Yes, yes, Okay, So both actually ranked number ten, Amanda 1619 01:13:55,040 --> 01:13:59,839 Speaker 5: and in the strawweight division. Macy in the flyweight division. 1620 01:14:00,560 --> 01:14:04,120 Speaker 5: I agree with your assessment. Like Macy Barber, we put 1621 01:14:04,160 --> 01:14:06,559 Speaker 5: a lot of emphasis on her very early and it 1622 01:14:06,560 --> 01:14:10,000 Speaker 5: hasn't quite panned out. Sort of similar expectations we put 1623 01:14:10,040 --> 01:14:11,680 Speaker 5: on he Boss. I think she's been a little more 1624 01:14:11,680 --> 01:14:15,960 Speaker 5: consistent of the two. Man. We see this a lot, 1625 01:14:16,040 --> 01:14:18,880 Speaker 5: right with newer divisions, particularly in this case with the 1626 01:14:18,880 --> 01:14:21,519 Speaker 5: women's divisions, is like there's these dominant forces for such 1627 01:14:21,560 --> 01:14:24,320 Speaker 5: a long time, and then you begin to see all 1628 01:14:24,400 --> 01:14:28,120 Speaker 5: the contenders sort of emerge and amalgamate and start giving 1629 01:14:28,120 --> 01:14:32,200 Speaker 5: the champs to run for their money. Flywhit's been the 1630 01:14:32,240 --> 01:14:34,280 Speaker 5: one that struggled for a long time, and it's really 1631 01:14:34,400 --> 01:14:35,960 Speaker 5: nice to see it getting populated. 1632 01:14:36,000 --> 01:14:36,160 Speaker 4: Right. 1633 01:14:36,200 --> 01:14:39,439 Speaker 5: You have Mann, Firo, Taylor Santos, Aaron Blanchefield of course 1634 01:14:39,479 --> 01:14:43,200 Speaker 5: Hammer of the Month, I would like to see Macy 1635 01:14:43,240 --> 01:14:48,040 Speaker 5: Barber sort of live up to the expectations people had 1636 01:14:48,080 --> 01:14:51,120 Speaker 5: of her. But why I like this fight the most 1637 01:14:51,160 --> 01:14:53,240 Speaker 5: is there's no bad winner here for the UFC. These 1638 01:14:53,280 --> 01:14:55,000 Speaker 5: are two women who do have a bit of a 1639 01:14:55,000 --> 01:14:58,040 Speaker 5: fan base behind them. They do both have the potential, 1640 01:14:58,160 --> 01:15:01,360 Speaker 5: and naturally you're about to off one of those contenders 1641 01:15:01,360 --> 01:15:03,479 Speaker 5: for the time being, but at least you're going to 1642 01:15:03,560 --> 01:15:06,000 Speaker 5: have the winner be someone who you can slot into 1643 01:15:06,000 --> 01:15:08,439 Speaker 5: a top ten fight next and so in that case, 1644 01:15:08,520 --> 01:15:13,120 Speaker 5: it's both compelling from a rankings perspective, skills and there's 1645 01:15:13,160 --> 01:15:14,960 Speaker 5: something for the winner to take off of. 1646 01:15:15,000 --> 01:15:17,920 Speaker 4: This almost done here. 1647 01:15:18,080 --> 01:15:21,000 Speaker 3: Argin Buller taken on Anatotly Mallikin in the one heavyweight 1648 01:15:21,000 --> 01:15:24,200 Speaker 3: title unification. So Mallikin, dude, I'll tell you what. I 1649 01:15:24,200 --> 01:15:26,120 Speaker 3: don't know where you're at on mallikan He it might 1650 01:15:26,160 --> 01:15:28,360 Speaker 3: be the most exciting fighter outside of UFC. I mean, 1651 01:15:28,400 --> 01:15:31,160 Speaker 3: that's you know, that's very debatable obviously, but he's on 1652 01:15:31,200 --> 01:15:33,360 Speaker 3: the short list for me. So he was the interim 1653 01:15:33,400 --> 01:15:36,560 Speaker 3: heavyweight champion. Argient Buller is the full heavyweight champion, but 1654 01:15:36,560 --> 01:15:38,679 Speaker 3: I think he was having some contract dispute, so they 1655 01:15:38,840 --> 01:15:41,240 Speaker 3: it looks like they got that worked out. But Malikin 1656 01:15:41,280 --> 01:15:44,080 Speaker 3: also went down to their light heavyweight to be reneared 1657 01:15:44,120 --> 01:15:46,280 Speaker 3: to Ritter and take his title from him, So he's 1658 01:15:46,320 --> 01:15:49,519 Speaker 3: technically a two weight champion. He looks to be to 1659 01:15:49,560 --> 01:15:53,280 Speaker 3: be the real deal, phenomenal takedown defense, crippling, punching power, 1660 01:15:53,760 --> 01:15:57,559 Speaker 3: fast as shit, buller can wrestle. But Mallikin, man, that dude, 1661 01:15:57,600 --> 01:15:59,080 Speaker 3: I'm telling you, he is one. 1662 01:15:58,920 --> 01:16:01,280 Speaker 4: Of the best eyes outside of the UFC. 1663 01:16:01,479 --> 01:16:03,559 Speaker 3: If people haven't paid attention, you need to make time 1664 01:16:03,560 --> 01:16:05,479 Speaker 3: for him on July fourteenth when he tries to take 1665 01:16:05,520 --> 01:16:06,759 Speaker 3: the full title of margin bowler. 1666 01:16:07,560 --> 01:16:09,720 Speaker 5: Argin my fellow British Columbian who actually lived like a 1667 01:16:09,760 --> 01:16:12,880 Speaker 5: few hours a couple hours away from each other. Yeah, 1668 01:16:12,960 --> 01:16:15,719 Speaker 5: I think you've spun on with your assessment. Argent obviously 1669 01:16:15,760 --> 01:16:18,760 Speaker 5: a fantastic wrestler, bringing that experience with him from his 1670 01:16:18,800 --> 01:16:23,240 Speaker 5: life before MMA. The contract disputes would really concern me. 1671 01:16:23,320 --> 01:16:27,479 Speaker 5: Like we talked with Arnold Allen about how the time 1672 01:16:27,520 --> 01:16:29,800 Speaker 5: off in between fights maybe gave him a chance to 1673 01:16:29,840 --> 01:16:31,519 Speaker 5: sort of work on a lot of things on the 1674 01:16:31,560 --> 01:16:33,960 Speaker 5: back end, And I'm sure Argin's been pulling in the work, 1675 01:16:34,000 --> 01:16:36,479 Speaker 5: putting in the work. I just don't think he's had 1676 01:16:36,600 --> 01:16:40,000 Speaker 5: enough MMA experience to be able to take so much 1677 01:16:40,080 --> 01:16:43,559 Speaker 5: time off between fights, between contract disputes and whatever's been 1678 01:16:43,560 --> 01:16:46,160 Speaker 5: happening to really make the strides he needs to make 1679 01:16:46,200 --> 01:16:46,760 Speaker 5: in this fight. 1680 01:16:47,080 --> 01:16:48,080 Speaker 4: I worry that. 1681 01:16:48,080 --> 01:16:51,040 Speaker 5: He's still two one dimensional and it's gonna cost him 1682 01:16:51,040 --> 01:16:52,760 Speaker 5: in this fight. And I don't know what the deal 1683 01:16:52,800 --> 01:16:55,080 Speaker 5: is with one championship, but they may just be happy 1684 01:16:55,120 --> 01:16:56,720 Speaker 5: to get the title off of him so that they 1685 01:16:56,720 --> 01:16:59,600 Speaker 5: can have the heavyweight belt contested more frequently. 1686 01:17:00,120 --> 01:17:02,400 Speaker 3: Yeah, there might be something to that. I don't think 1687 01:17:02,439 --> 01:17:05,280 Speaker 3: that's crazy at all, all right, So that oh, one more, 1688 01:17:05,360 --> 01:17:07,679 Speaker 3: one more if we can. I saw that you put 1689 01:17:07,680 --> 01:17:10,720 Speaker 3: this in the chat breaking news. Let me pull it 1690 01:17:10,800 --> 01:17:13,040 Speaker 3: up here. This comes to us from our friend Mark 1691 01:17:13,120 --> 01:17:17,320 Speaker 3: Ramundi at ESPN. Brandon Moreno will defend his UFC flyweight 1692 01:17:17,360 --> 01:17:21,519 Speaker 3: title against Alechandre Pantoja at UFC two ninety on July 1693 01:17:21,600 --> 01:17:24,400 Speaker 3: eighth in Las Vegas. UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell 1694 01:17:24,439 --> 01:17:28,320 Speaker 3: confirmed with ESPN forst reported by somebody called freak MMA 1695 01:17:28,479 --> 01:17:31,560 Speaker 3: one on Instagram. So this is to your point, So 1696 01:17:31,640 --> 01:17:35,200 Speaker 3: that they again were International fight Week, not right around 1697 01:17:35,200 --> 01:17:37,960 Speaker 3: the corner, they could have put that there also, so 1698 01:17:38,080 --> 01:17:40,560 Speaker 3: two things it makes me wonder, A what do you 1699 01:17:40,600 --> 01:17:44,000 Speaker 3: think about the fight? And B by putting Moreno Versus 1700 01:17:44,080 --> 01:17:47,559 Speaker 3: Pantoja at two ninety, does that mean that they're punting 1701 01:17:47,600 --> 01:17:50,800 Speaker 3: on John Jones Versustepe Or are they gonna put three 1702 01:17:50,880 --> 01:17:54,640 Speaker 3: title fights? Because now you've already got yeah, here Volkanovski, 1703 01:17:54,760 --> 01:17:56,360 Speaker 3: now you've got moreno Pantoja. 1704 01:17:56,800 --> 01:17:57,840 Speaker 4: Would they put a third one? 1705 01:17:58,040 --> 01:18:00,400 Speaker 3: Or are we gonna not? We're not gonna see John 1706 01:18:00,479 --> 01:18:01,719 Speaker 3: Jones International Fight Week. 1707 01:18:01,920 --> 01:18:04,760 Speaker 5: Okay, Well, shout out to Mark Raymani of ESPN. He 1708 01:18:04,840 --> 01:18:07,880 Speaker 5: actually tweeted about an hour ago quote, I've seen several 1709 01:18:07,920 --> 01:18:11,000 Speaker 5: tweets talking about Jones versus Miochich at UFC two ninety 1710 01:18:11,000 --> 01:18:13,840 Speaker 5: in July. That's still the fight all parties won next, 1711 01:18:13,840 --> 01:18:16,240 Speaker 5: but it won't happen in July and hasn't really been 1712 01:18:16,280 --> 01:18:19,200 Speaker 5: discussed for July in a while. Much more likely now 1713 01:18:19,240 --> 01:18:21,760 Speaker 5: for the fall. So I guess we're not getting it. 1714 01:18:22,200 --> 01:18:25,160 Speaker 5: Should we be surprised? No is anything ever easy when 1715 01:18:25,160 --> 01:18:26,240 Speaker 5: it comes to John Jones. 1716 01:18:26,520 --> 01:18:28,200 Speaker 4: No, And honestly, booking Steve A. 1717 01:18:28,360 --> 01:18:31,160 Speaker 5: Miochich hasn't been very successful either, So I'm not quite 1718 01:18:31,240 --> 01:18:33,200 Speaker 5: sure what the hold up is if you're telling me 1719 01:18:33,240 --> 01:18:35,000 Speaker 5: we're not gonna get it in the summer, we're gonna 1720 01:18:35,000 --> 01:18:36,840 Speaker 5: get it in fall. I'm gonna predict that we're not 1721 01:18:36,840 --> 01:18:40,439 Speaker 5: gonna get it at all. Ooh oh, I mean it's 1722 01:18:40,479 --> 01:18:42,200 Speaker 5: a bit strong. It's a bit strong, But like, how 1723 01:18:42,400 --> 01:18:44,880 Speaker 5: how long have we been talking about Jones versus steep A? 1724 01:18:45,000 --> 01:18:47,639 Speaker 5: How many times have fights been pushed back involving these 1725 01:18:47,680 --> 01:18:49,519 Speaker 5: guys before they actually happen? 1726 01:18:49,960 --> 01:18:50,639 Speaker 4: Like, I just. 1727 01:18:52,240 --> 01:18:54,680 Speaker 5: They needed that fight on International Fight Week, I think 1728 01:18:54,720 --> 01:18:56,840 Speaker 5: more than they need it any other time of the year. 1729 01:18:59,120 --> 01:19:00,559 Speaker 4: It's just a shame. Listen. 1730 01:19:00,640 --> 01:19:03,360 Speaker 5: I'm a disenfranchised soul. I just want to see cool 1731 01:19:03,400 --> 01:19:05,559 Speaker 5: fights get made, and when they don't, I have to 1732 01:19:05,600 --> 01:19:07,920 Speaker 5: emotionally shelter myself. It's the only way I got through 1733 01:19:08,000 --> 01:19:10,040 Speaker 5: high school. I didn't expect to pass my test, and 1734 01:19:10,040 --> 01:19:11,240 Speaker 5: so when I did, I'm like, you know what, we're 1735 01:19:11,280 --> 01:19:11,840 Speaker 5: still kicking. 1736 01:19:12,920 --> 01:19:18,840 Speaker 4: Well that's something grade twelve math. How does that make 1737 01:19:18,840 --> 01:19:23,080 Speaker 4: you feel? As a ictorian? Say what, you were class 1738 01:19:23,080 --> 01:19:24,320 Speaker 4: of edictorian and you failed? 1739 01:19:25,040 --> 01:19:25,640 Speaker 2: No? No, no, no. 1740 01:19:25,680 --> 01:19:27,960 Speaker 3: My best friend so there was four of us with 1741 01:19:28,000 --> 01:19:32,320 Speaker 3: a group of friends. The one of them was the 1742 01:19:32,400 --> 01:19:35,280 Speaker 3: valedictorian the second one was the salutatorian, and both of 1743 01:19:35,320 --> 01:19:38,559 Speaker 3: them had the highest SAT score that year, so I 1744 01:19:38,640 --> 01:19:40,559 Speaker 3: had tough competition with my friends that year. 1745 01:19:40,560 --> 01:19:42,839 Speaker 5: But okay, my math teacher did write me a glowing 1746 01:19:42,880 --> 01:19:45,880 Speaker 5: reference letter though, So shout out to Dave who saw something. 1747 01:19:45,960 --> 01:19:47,639 Speaker 3: Dude, this is a true story. I don't I've ever 1748 01:19:47,680 --> 01:19:49,280 Speaker 3: told this one. It's very minor, but I just want 1749 01:19:49,280 --> 01:19:52,120 Speaker 3: to tell it, so I don't know how it goes anymore. 1750 01:19:52,120 --> 01:19:53,559 Speaker 3: But when I was in high school, you had to 1751 01:19:53,560 --> 01:19:55,800 Speaker 3: get a lot of people to write you recommendations. And 1752 01:19:55,840 --> 01:19:58,200 Speaker 3: one of them was like, it was demanded at certain 1753 01:19:58,240 --> 01:20:01,080 Speaker 3: places that your guidance counselor write you want. 1754 01:20:01,120 --> 01:20:02,519 Speaker 4: And I got one from her. 1755 01:20:02,560 --> 01:20:05,639 Speaker 3: It was fine, and then I read it and it said, 1756 01:20:05,720 --> 01:20:08,360 Speaker 3: you know, Luca is dedicated, determined, and dependable. 1757 01:20:08,680 --> 01:20:11,919 Speaker 4: And I was like, that sounds that sounds familiar. 1758 01:20:12,439 --> 01:20:15,320 Speaker 3: Sure enough, I turned on the evening news that was 1759 01:20:15,479 --> 01:20:18,719 Speaker 3: Channel five in Atlanta, Georgia's evening news. That was their slogan, 1760 01:20:18,800 --> 01:20:24,240 Speaker 3: Channel five News Dedicated, determined and dependable. She just wrote 1761 01:20:24,280 --> 01:20:27,920 Speaker 3: what the news slogan was on my fucking recommendation letter 1762 01:20:27,960 --> 01:20:30,880 Speaker 3: to colleges. I was like, what the fuck, lady, what 1763 01:20:31,000 --> 01:20:33,920 Speaker 3: is this, you know, like not even not even given 1764 01:20:33,960 --> 01:20:35,040 Speaker 3: a damn. 1765 01:20:34,720 --> 01:20:35,200 Speaker 2: In the end. 1766 01:20:35,280 --> 01:20:37,600 Speaker 3: But okay, neither here nor there. Let's talk about the 1767 01:20:37,600 --> 01:20:41,040 Speaker 3: matchup itself. Marino versus Pantoja. Moreno has lost twice to him. 1768 01:20:41,080 --> 01:20:42,920 Speaker 3: He lost once on the ultimate fighter of V a 1769 01:20:42,960 --> 01:20:44,920 Speaker 3: rear naked choke, and then they rematched what year was that, 1770 01:20:45,040 --> 01:20:48,599 Speaker 3: twenty eighteen and he lost via decision. But to your point, 1771 01:20:48,920 --> 01:20:51,800 Speaker 3: their careers have gone in somewhat different directions. It's not 1772 01:20:51,840 --> 01:20:53,960 Speaker 3: to say that Pantoja didn't have winning ways after that. 1773 01:20:54,000 --> 01:20:56,559 Speaker 3: In fact, he's only lost I think once after that 1774 01:20:56,600 --> 01:21:01,080 Speaker 3: to Figuredo in twenty twenty two. But it was Moreno 1775 01:21:01,120 --> 01:21:02,880 Speaker 3: who had the rivalry with him and was able to 1776 01:21:02,880 --> 01:21:04,720 Speaker 3: get some other wins. And so now they meet back 1777 01:21:04,720 --> 01:21:07,639 Speaker 3: here again. It's a little it's not quite like Izzy 1778 01:21:07,720 --> 01:21:10,000 Speaker 3: and Potato, but it just goes to show you guys 1779 01:21:10,040 --> 01:21:12,680 Speaker 3: can lose multiple times to the same guy if they 1780 01:21:12,720 --> 01:21:16,000 Speaker 3: rematch later. It's all about timing. I would imagine Marino 1781 01:21:16,040 --> 01:21:17,120 Speaker 3: will be favored to win this. 1782 01:21:17,040 --> 01:21:18,439 Speaker 4: One, as he should. 1783 01:21:18,479 --> 01:21:20,679 Speaker 5: I mean, I just think every flyweight in the UFC 1784 01:21:20,840 --> 01:21:24,559 Speaker 5: is breathing a sigh of relief that Figured Eighto versus 1785 01:21:24,560 --> 01:21:27,759 Speaker 5: Marino four didn't end in another draw because it's really 1786 01:21:27,800 --> 01:21:32,160 Speaker 5: stifled a lot of solid contenders in this division while 1787 01:21:32,160 --> 01:21:34,559 Speaker 5: these guys just went tit for Tad over the course 1788 01:21:34,600 --> 01:21:38,040 Speaker 5: of four years. Pantosia has a lot of reason to 1789 01:21:38,040 --> 01:21:41,519 Speaker 5: be confident. I'm sure he's very relieved to finally get 1790 01:21:41,520 --> 01:21:44,680 Speaker 5: this booking and from Moreno. Look, MMA is at its 1791 01:21:44,720 --> 01:21:49,200 Speaker 5: best when you have a combination of stakes, skills and storytelling, 1792 01:21:49,240 --> 01:21:53,120 Speaker 5: and this is one that you can sell. For all 1793 01:21:53,120 --> 01:21:55,439 Speaker 5: the disrespect the flyweights still get, I think they're in 1794 01:21:55,479 --> 01:21:59,840 Speaker 5: a stronger position than they've been in and forever. I 1795 01:22:00,120 --> 01:22:02,280 Speaker 5: love that this is an international fight week. I hope 1796 01:22:02,280 --> 01:22:06,679 Speaker 5: we still get something with a little bit more name value. Obviously, 1797 01:22:06,800 --> 01:22:09,759 Speaker 5: Volkanovsky versus Yayir is a tremendous fight. 1798 01:22:09,960 --> 01:22:12,160 Speaker 4: And Vulk deserves a really big like for Vulk. 1799 01:22:12,200 --> 01:22:14,640 Speaker 5: I'd be happy for Vulk if he gets that headlining 1800 01:22:14,680 --> 01:22:18,280 Speaker 5: spot because he deserves it. But in terms of making 1801 01:22:18,280 --> 01:22:22,200 Speaker 5: this a real, you know, like WrestleMania esque spectacle, I 1802 01:22:22,240 --> 01:22:24,400 Speaker 5: think it would actually behoove both him and Moreno and 1803 01:22:24,439 --> 01:22:26,880 Speaker 5: their opponents if we could get something. If we're not 1804 01:22:26,880 --> 01:22:28,960 Speaker 5: getting Jones Versustipe, I don't know what it would be 1805 01:22:29,360 --> 01:22:32,160 Speaker 5: I just hope we get one big fight to top 1806 01:22:32,280 --> 01:22:34,240 Speaker 5: end all of this, because it's gonna bring a lot 1807 01:22:34,240 --> 01:22:38,200 Speaker 5: of well deserved attention to Moreno, to Pantosia, to Yayir 1808 01:22:39,080 --> 01:22:40,080 Speaker 5: and to Volkanovsky. 1809 01:22:40,439 --> 01:22:42,160 Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question, how happy would you 1810 01:22:42,200 --> 01:22:45,960 Speaker 3: be if they brought Balal Mohammad versus Chef cut Rochmanov 1811 01:22:46,000 --> 01:22:46,960 Speaker 3: to Canada? 1812 01:22:48,080 --> 01:22:52,280 Speaker 5: I hate I'm on a as a matter of competition, absolutely, 1813 01:22:52,680 --> 01:22:55,720 Speaker 5: I hate that fight because Bolal deserves he does not 1814 01:22:55,800 --> 01:22:58,799 Speaker 5: deserve to be fighting backwards against the guy as difficult 1815 01:22:58,840 --> 01:23:01,200 Speaker 5: as shoff Cut. You know, I think we're gonna talk 1816 01:23:01,240 --> 01:23:03,120 Speaker 5: about a little a little later in the show with 1817 01:23:03,400 --> 01:23:06,439 Speaker 5: who is buying for the Walterway title. The only fight 1818 01:23:06,479 --> 01:23:08,280 Speaker 5: I want to see for Bawall if you're not gonna 1819 01:23:08,280 --> 01:23:09,320 Speaker 5: give him the title shot. 1820 01:23:09,360 --> 01:23:10,200 Speaker 4: And like I said. 1821 01:23:10,000 --> 01:23:13,640 Speaker 5: Earlier, you can make the argument that he hasn't beat 1822 01:23:13,680 --> 01:23:15,960 Speaker 5: a top five guy, but the winning streak is there. 1823 01:23:16,640 --> 01:23:18,800 Speaker 5: The only person I want to see Ballall fight other 1824 01:23:18,840 --> 01:23:23,639 Speaker 5: than Leon Edwards right now is Kamar Ousman or Gilbert Burns. 1825 01:23:23,640 --> 01:23:24,920 Speaker 4: But those are the only two fights I. 1826 01:23:24,840 --> 01:23:27,719 Speaker 5: Want for Ballall because he deserves something that's gonna guarantee 1827 01:23:27,760 --> 01:23:32,000 Speaker 5: him a title shot. Okay, all right, that versus shot 1828 01:23:32,080 --> 01:23:35,800 Speaker 5: Cuts a dope fight. It's a great fight. It sucks, yeah, 1829 01:23:35,840 --> 01:23:36,760 Speaker 5: it does suck for bl all. 1830 01:23:37,000 --> 01:23:39,080 Speaker 4: All right, with that in mind, let's do now a 1831 01:23:39,120 --> 01:23:42,720 Speaker 4: segment we like to call buy or sell. So here's 1832 01:23:42,720 --> 01:23:45,600 Speaker 4: how this is gonna go. We got five of these for. 1833 01:23:45,800 --> 01:23:50,639 Speaker 3: You here, shock Shack calling you shock Shack, and you're 1834 01:23:50,640 --> 01:23:52,920 Speaker 3: gonna tell me whether you're gonna buy this or sell this. 1835 01:23:53,200 --> 01:23:55,080 Speaker 3: I'll read to you what I'm asking you to buy 1836 01:23:55,120 --> 01:23:57,320 Speaker 3: or sell, and then I'll give you what the context is. 1837 01:23:57,680 --> 01:23:58,759 Speaker 4: Let me know if you're ready. 1838 01:24:00,200 --> 01:24:02,479 Speaker 5: More ready than I'll no, less ready than I'll be 1839 01:24:02,520 --> 01:24:03,160 Speaker 5: a second from now. 1840 01:24:03,240 --> 01:24:06,519 Speaker 3: Luke, all right, here we go, buy our cell. Dustin 1841 01:24:06,600 --> 01:24:11,280 Speaker 3: Pariad will fight Justin Gaichee before August. Here's what Dustin 1842 01:24:11,320 --> 01:24:13,920 Speaker 3: said at the UFC two eighty seven post fight show quote, 1843 01:24:13,960 --> 01:24:16,000 Speaker 3: it seems like the Geychee fight makes the most sense. 1844 01:24:16,040 --> 01:24:16,599 Speaker 4: We'll see. 1845 01:24:16,800 --> 01:24:18,920 Speaker 3: I think it could happen this summer. But I don't 1846 01:24:18,960 --> 01:24:20,800 Speaker 3: have an answer for you. I don't know what's next, 1847 01:24:20,840 --> 01:24:22,840 Speaker 3: but it's looking like the Gay Chee fight. He's calling 1848 01:24:22,840 --> 01:24:24,960 Speaker 3: for it, his people around him. I saw an interview. 1849 01:24:24,960 --> 01:24:27,320 Speaker 3: They said they don't think I'm gonna take it. There's 1850 01:24:27,320 --> 01:24:29,679 Speaker 3: some silly he wrote. He wrote, there's some silly goose 1851 01:24:30,000 --> 01:24:32,599 Speaker 3: the plural of goose's geese. So I'm gonna say there 1852 01:24:32,600 --> 01:24:35,439 Speaker 3: are some silly geese. Man buy or sell before August 1853 01:24:35,560 --> 01:24:35,720 Speaker 3: or not. 1854 01:24:36,360 --> 01:24:40,320 Speaker 5: I passed English class, so I knew that one before August. 1855 01:24:40,360 --> 01:24:42,680 Speaker 5: I feel like Justin Gaichie, for as wild as he is, 1856 01:24:42,720 --> 01:24:44,720 Speaker 5: has been more mindful to take time off and let 1857 01:24:44,800 --> 01:24:47,479 Speaker 5: himself heal. So if anything's the hold up, I think 1858 01:24:47,479 --> 01:24:50,280 Speaker 5: it might be Justin just trying to recover from the 1859 01:24:50,360 --> 01:24:51,040 Speaker 5: physa fight. 1860 01:24:54,240 --> 01:24:57,360 Speaker 4: I'm gonna go, Oh, you're gonna buy it? Okay, I 1861 01:24:57,600 --> 01:24:59,599 Speaker 4: want to believe it. I wanted. That's a dope fight. 1862 01:25:00,000 --> 01:25:02,920 Speaker 5: The winner is primed for a title shot after Oliver 1863 01:25:03,000 --> 01:25:06,400 Speaker 5: Arra Daryus fight Maka Chev. I think it behooves the 1864 01:25:06,439 --> 01:25:09,560 Speaker 5: UFC to get those things done in a relatively similar timeframe. 1865 01:25:10,400 --> 01:25:14,360 Speaker 3: Let's buy it all right, number two, buy or sell. 1866 01:25:15,680 --> 01:25:19,639 Speaker 3: Jorge Masadol will fight again, but it will be only 1867 01:25:19,760 --> 01:25:24,120 Speaker 3: in boxing. Quote from Masvidal in the MMA Hour, He's 1868 01:25:24,160 --> 01:25:26,040 Speaker 3: not gonna fight bare knuckle just because of his hands. 1869 01:25:26,080 --> 01:25:27,840 Speaker 3: Your boy has twenty years in the fight game. My 1870 01:25:27,840 --> 01:25:30,280 Speaker 3: hands have been through everything. You can imagine. There's times 1871 01:25:30,320 --> 01:25:32,120 Speaker 3: after fights that it's like my hands are bad with 1872 01:25:32,200 --> 01:25:34,679 Speaker 3: gloves and casts and all that, So I personally couldn't 1873 01:25:34,720 --> 01:25:34,840 Speaker 3: do that. 1874 01:25:34,880 --> 01:25:36,360 Speaker 4: I wouldn't talk about bare knuckle. 1875 01:25:36,640 --> 01:25:38,640 Speaker 3: I wouldn't do MMA obviously, and I always want to 1876 01:25:38,640 --> 01:25:40,200 Speaker 3: do boxing fights, but as of right now, I would 1877 01:25:40,240 --> 01:25:41,080 Speaker 3: say no to all of it. 1878 01:25:41,080 --> 01:25:42,439 Speaker 4: It's if something. 1879 01:25:42,240 --> 01:25:44,639 Speaker 3: Crazy came about, yeah, I would entertain it obviously, first 1880 01:25:44,640 --> 01:25:46,519 Speaker 3: and foremost, I'd have to get the UFC's permission. It'd 1881 01:25:46,520 --> 01:25:47,800 Speaker 3: have to be the ones to grace me with that, 1882 01:25:48,080 --> 01:25:49,720 Speaker 3: because I'm still under contract with him. 1883 01:25:49,920 --> 01:25:52,479 Speaker 4: He will fight again, but only in boxing. Buy or sell. 1884 01:26:01,439 --> 01:26:04,840 Speaker 5: I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say buy, and I'm actually 1885 01:26:04,920 --> 01:26:09,080 Speaker 5: gonna say it's in the UFC. I think if hor 1886 01:26:09,160 --> 01:26:12,520 Speaker 5: Hay can again, but this is only boxing. I know boxing. 1887 01:26:13,640 --> 01:26:15,799 Speaker 5: You're gonna sell on boxing, I'm gonna sell on boxing. 1888 01:26:15,800 --> 01:26:17,920 Speaker 5: I just don't know who he's gonna fight. The Jake 1889 01:26:17,960 --> 01:26:20,280 Speaker 5: Paul thing has obviously taken a dip. Also, I just 1890 01:26:20,320 --> 01:26:23,160 Speaker 5: don't like the idea of guys Nate and Jorges size 1891 01:26:23,160 --> 01:26:26,040 Speaker 5: fighting Jake Paul. I. I just think it's too big 1892 01:26:26,040 --> 01:26:29,400 Speaker 5: of a weight. Discrepancy there, I'm gonna sell him in boxing. 1893 01:26:30,280 --> 01:26:33,080 Speaker 4: I think that's right. I don't, I don't, But. 1894 01:26:33,000 --> 01:26:34,840 Speaker 5: He has his own promotion, like I guess he could 1895 01:26:34,920 --> 01:26:35,240 Speaker 5: he does. 1896 01:26:36,120 --> 01:26:37,960 Speaker 4: Is he gonna pay himself that way? Though? Like, I 1897 01:26:38,000 --> 01:26:40,560 Speaker 4: don't know can you do that? I don't even know 1898 01:26:40,560 --> 01:26:42,040 Speaker 4: if that's legal in boxing. I think you can do 1899 01:26:42,080 --> 01:26:43,040 Speaker 4: it in then may. I don't know if you can 1900 01:26:43,040 --> 01:26:43,639 Speaker 4: do it in boxing. 1901 01:26:43,920 --> 01:26:45,799 Speaker 5: Well, if he can do it for his own promotion, 1902 01:26:46,240 --> 01:26:46,839 Speaker 5: I buy. 1903 01:26:46,840 --> 01:26:49,880 Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, But like is he gonna fight Canelo? Is 1904 01:26:49,920 --> 01:26:52,360 Speaker 3: he gonna fight? To your point, Jake Paul, it seems unlikely. 1905 01:26:52,439 --> 01:26:53,120 Speaker 3: It seems unlikely. 1906 01:26:53,120 --> 01:26:58,000 Speaker 4: All right, three buy or sell, no doubt about it. 1907 01:26:58,240 --> 01:27:03,240 Speaker 3: Gilbert Burns is next after Colby for the welterweight title shot. 1908 01:27:03,560 --> 01:27:05,760 Speaker 3: Gilbert in the postfight scrumsones, I think it's almost a 1909 01:27:05,760 --> 01:27:07,200 Speaker 3: done deal that Leon and Colby are going to be 1910 01:27:07,200 --> 01:27:07,639 Speaker 3: in London. 1911 01:27:08,880 --> 01:27:09,839 Speaker 4: I want to be the backup. 1912 01:27:09,960 --> 01:27:12,479 Speaker 3: No, I'm going to I'm not asking, I'm demanding that 1913 01:27:12,520 --> 01:27:14,840 Speaker 3: I'm going to because whenever they ask me, the UFC 1914 01:27:14,880 --> 01:27:17,400 Speaker 3: calls for an opponent, I always say yes. Now I'm 1915 01:27:17,439 --> 01:27:19,760 Speaker 3: demanding that I'm going to do my training camp for 1916 01:27:19,800 --> 01:27:21,760 Speaker 3: five rounds I go to London. I'm next in line 1917 01:27:21,760 --> 01:27:24,320 Speaker 3: for the title. Burns said, otherwise, let me go do 1918 01:27:24,439 --> 01:27:27,440 Speaker 3: my thing. These guys asking a million and other organizations. 1919 01:27:27,479 --> 01:27:28,000 Speaker 4: You know, that's it. 1920 01:27:28,040 --> 01:27:29,800 Speaker 3: I'm back up for the next title fight and I'm 1921 01:27:29,800 --> 01:27:32,080 Speaker 3: fighting for the title next. Dana White saying, I love 1922 01:27:32,120 --> 01:27:34,760 Speaker 3: that deal. You've got a deal. Do you think, though, 1923 01:27:34,760 --> 01:27:37,479 Speaker 3: that that actually means that Gilbert gets the winner of 1924 01:27:37,640 --> 01:27:40,760 Speaker 3: Edwards Covington by herself. 1925 01:27:40,680 --> 01:27:43,800 Speaker 5: Pop off Gilbert Burns. I love to see a nice 1926 01:27:43,800 --> 01:27:46,200 Speaker 5: guy stand up for himself a little bit. I'm going 1927 01:27:46,280 --> 01:27:49,200 Speaker 5: to say by on the condition that he does actually 1928 01:27:49,240 --> 01:27:51,800 Speaker 5: fill in his backup, makes the weight on fight night, 1929 01:27:51,880 --> 01:27:53,920 Speaker 5: and doesn't get the fight. Because it's the reason Colby 1930 01:27:53,920 --> 01:27:56,640 Speaker 5: Covington at least the Dana White is publicly stated is 1931 01:27:56,640 --> 01:27:58,960 Speaker 5: getting the title shot because he was willing to go 1932 01:27:59,000 --> 01:28:01,280 Speaker 5: through that weight cut for a fight he never got 1933 01:28:01,320 --> 01:28:04,080 Speaker 5: on Leon Edwards with Kmart Lusman two. We've seen him 1934 01:28:04,080 --> 01:28:07,559 Speaker 5: reward Michael Chandler for Phil, you know, being the fill 1935 01:28:07,600 --> 01:28:09,960 Speaker 5: in for I think it was the Habib Gaichee fight. 1936 01:28:10,800 --> 01:28:13,160 Speaker 5: Dana seems to like it when a fighter is willing 1937 01:28:13,200 --> 01:28:15,400 Speaker 5: to go through all of that just to not even 1938 01:28:15,439 --> 01:28:19,240 Speaker 5: be guaranteed to fight, and it also sort of ties 1939 01:28:19,280 --> 01:28:22,080 Speaker 5: that fighter into the fight week promotion a little bit. 1940 01:28:22,160 --> 01:28:25,920 Speaker 5: So if Gilbert actually serves his fill in yes bye, 1941 01:28:26,000 --> 01:28:27,360 Speaker 5: he's going to get the next title shot. 1942 01:28:28,560 --> 01:28:31,920 Speaker 3: All right, So how about this one? I'm gonna skip 1943 01:28:31,920 --> 01:28:33,360 Speaker 3: one and then come back to another one. How about 1944 01:28:33,360 --> 01:28:37,600 Speaker 3: this one? By or sell Is, the Israel Aisna is 1945 01:28:37,640 --> 01:28:40,920 Speaker 3: a top five all time fighter. Here is Matt Brown 1946 01:28:41,560 --> 01:28:44,360 Speaker 3: talking to MMA Fighting. He says, quote, if we want 1947 01:28:44,360 --> 01:28:47,479 Speaker 3: to compare with other goats that we always talk about, 1948 01:28:47,520 --> 01:28:49,960 Speaker 3: GSP had a very unexciting career as a champion, we 1949 01:28:50,040 --> 01:28:51,920 Speaker 3: simply put him up there for his wins, his amount 1950 01:28:51,960 --> 01:28:54,400 Speaker 3: of wins and not losing rounds. This fight just hit 1951 01:28:54,439 --> 01:28:56,280 Speaker 3: me in a different way. Maybe I'm a little bit 1952 01:28:56,320 --> 01:28:58,280 Speaker 3: biased right now because it just happened this weekend and 1953 01:28:58,280 --> 01:29:00,479 Speaker 3: I'm still a little bit high from it. Definitely gave 1954 01:29:00,520 --> 01:29:02,840 Speaker 3: me a buzz watching that And is he just the 1955 01:29:02,880 --> 01:29:05,439 Speaker 3: way he did it? I think that's an extremely special 1956 01:29:05,479 --> 01:29:07,760 Speaker 3: person to be able to do that. He thinks he's 1957 01:29:07,800 --> 01:29:10,360 Speaker 3: a top five all time by or sell. 1958 01:29:12,439 --> 01:29:15,559 Speaker 4: Is, he is an extremely special person. That's a cell. 1959 01:29:16,200 --> 01:29:19,760 Speaker 5: I don't think j May is quite there yet. Top 1960 01:29:19,800 --> 01:29:22,080 Speaker 5: ten I'd be willing to have that conversation. But if 1961 01:29:22,080 --> 01:29:24,600 Speaker 5: I'm just looking at like topology's greatest MMA fighters of 1962 01:29:24,640 --> 01:29:30,400 Speaker 5: all time, GSP, John Jones, Demetrius Johnson, Anderson Silva, is 1963 01:29:30,439 --> 01:29:34,519 Speaker 5: he's close because from there on you got Habib, Jose Fador, DC, 1964 01:29:34,760 --> 01:29:38,960 Speaker 5: Stepe Volkanovski. I'd be willing to have the conversation about 1965 01:29:38,960 --> 01:29:40,880 Speaker 5: top ten, but my issue is, I is, he hasn't 1966 01:29:40,920 --> 01:29:44,679 Speaker 5: had the same sustained amount of success. He fell short 1967 01:29:44,720 --> 01:29:47,240 Speaker 5: in his move up to light heavyweight against Ian Blohovich, 1968 01:29:47,680 --> 01:29:50,960 Speaker 5: he lost to Alex Perera. The other guys that we 1969 01:29:50,960 --> 01:29:54,040 Speaker 5: think of as the top five have record setting reins. 1970 01:29:54,240 --> 01:29:57,599 Speaker 5: They have you know, Demitrius Johnson still holds the record 1971 01:29:57,640 --> 01:30:01,920 Speaker 5: for most successful and most consecutive UFC title defenses. 1972 01:30:01,560 --> 01:30:02,840 Speaker 4: Regardless of weight class. 1973 01:30:02,840 --> 01:30:06,240 Speaker 5: You have guys who've sustained their success against the very 1974 01:30:06,280 --> 01:30:10,080 Speaker 5: best almost never come short. I is, he's just had 1975 01:30:10,080 --> 01:30:12,559 Speaker 5: a couple of hiccups. He can definitely be top ten, 1976 01:30:12,600 --> 01:30:15,000 Speaker 5: but I think right now i'd almost put I probably 1977 01:30:15,000 --> 01:30:20,000 Speaker 5: put Volkanovsky ahead of Izzy. So yeah, I think top 1978 01:30:20,040 --> 01:30:21,720 Speaker 5: five is a bit of a stretch. I'm gonna sell 1979 01:30:21,720 --> 01:30:22,080 Speaker 5: that one. 1980 01:30:22,760 --> 01:30:24,040 Speaker 3: It might be a bit of a stretch, but I 1981 01:30:24,080 --> 01:30:27,320 Speaker 3: don't think it's right now right now. But like I 1982 01:30:27,320 --> 01:30:28,639 Speaker 3: gotta tell you, man, I don't know how. I haven't 1983 01:30:28,680 --> 01:30:30,679 Speaker 3: had a chance to ask you about it. That's got 1984 01:30:30,680 --> 01:30:32,320 Speaker 3: to be one of the most special wins I've ever 1985 01:30:32,360 --> 01:30:33,240 Speaker 3: seen in MMA. 1986 01:30:33,520 --> 01:30:34,840 Speaker 4: You know, it's one thing to beat a guy. 1987 01:30:34,680 --> 01:30:36,920 Speaker 3: Who beat you before in this case you know, three 1988 01:30:36,920 --> 01:30:40,519 Speaker 3: times twice via stoppage, but then to put yourself in 1989 01:30:40,520 --> 01:30:42,280 Speaker 3: the line of fire the way he did to lose 1990 01:30:42,320 --> 01:30:44,920 Speaker 3: Tyler recapture, which by itself is hard to do. Like 1991 01:30:45,080 --> 01:30:49,120 Speaker 3: every way that fight was supposed to go was probably 1992 01:30:49,120 --> 01:30:52,080 Speaker 3: gonna lead to Izzy losing, and he found the one 1993 01:30:52,160 --> 01:30:55,400 Speaker 3: way to just change the course of history, to beat 1994 01:30:55,400 --> 01:30:57,960 Speaker 3: the odds, to truly defy them, and to not just win, 1995 01:30:58,000 --> 01:31:00,120 Speaker 3: but to win. So matter of factly, it's one of 1996 01:31:00,160 --> 01:31:04,479 Speaker 3: the more iconic, historic and special wins. Maybe by itself, 1997 01:31:04,479 --> 01:31:06,400 Speaker 3: and even with the rest of the resume, it doesn't 1998 01:31:06,400 --> 01:31:07,840 Speaker 3: put him top five, certainly, not yet. 1999 01:31:08,240 --> 01:31:10,200 Speaker 4: But I gotta tell you, man, that is where do 2000 01:31:10,240 --> 01:31:11,080 Speaker 4: you rank that intern? 2001 01:31:11,200 --> 01:31:16,080 Speaker 3: Like when I think of triumphant moments in MMA, just 2002 01:31:16,080 --> 01:31:18,280 Speaker 3: think about that for just some more triumphant moments, one 2003 01:31:18,280 --> 01:31:20,200 Speaker 3: of one one of them that stands out has got 2004 01:31:20,240 --> 01:31:22,960 Speaker 3: to be Connor beating Adialvarez right, becoming the first ever 2005 01:31:22,960 --> 01:31:25,639 Speaker 3: two weight world champdud. He just couldn't be beaten that night. 2006 01:31:25,720 --> 01:31:29,160 Speaker 3: He was not gonna fucking lose that night. Maybe this 2007 01:31:29,200 --> 01:31:32,479 Speaker 3: one didn't quite feel like that. But to just defy, 2008 01:31:32,479 --> 01:31:35,400 Speaker 3: as I indicated, to defy all of the pressure, all 2009 01:31:35,439 --> 01:31:37,759 Speaker 3: of the odds, put himself in the line of fire 2010 01:31:38,160 --> 01:31:39,240 Speaker 3: in order to get the win. 2011 01:31:40,160 --> 01:31:44,839 Speaker 4: Man so special. Where do you rank it? Certainly it's 2012 01:31:45,000 --> 01:31:46,840 Speaker 4: up there. It's again. 2013 01:31:46,880 --> 01:31:49,240 Speaker 5: I was away from my bachelor party and so I 2014 01:31:49,280 --> 01:31:51,200 Speaker 5: watched it back. I feel like that always sort of 2015 01:31:51,240 --> 01:31:52,720 Speaker 5: takes you out of the moment a little bit. It 2016 01:31:52,760 --> 01:31:56,920 Speaker 5: does experiencing something in real time. What actually stands set 2017 01:31:56,960 --> 01:31:59,080 Speaker 5: out to me the most was not the incredible post 2018 01:31:59,120 --> 01:32:04,280 Speaker 5: fight speech bullying Alex's son. It was after knocking out 2019 01:32:04,320 --> 01:32:07,200 Speaker 5: Alex that little bow and arrow sequence. He kind of 2020 01:32:07,200 --> 01:32:10,439 Speaker 5: fired two imaginary arrows at Alex, and then the third 2021 01:32:10,520 --> 01:32:13,639 Speaker 5: one he held on to the draw, and that release 2022 01:32:13,760 --> 01:32:16,240 Speaker 5: was so cathartic. That was the moment where you could 2023 01:32:16,320 --> 01:32:19,439 Speaker 5: really see how much it meant for him to get 2024 01:32:19,479 --> 01:32:23,439 Speaker 5: this back, to cope with all the losses, to all 2025 01:32:23,479 --> 01:32:27,280 Speaker 5: the stigma around where his future is going to succeed 2026 01:32:27,479 --> 01:32:30,680 Speaker 5: in that way is truly remarkable, and it's something that 2027 01:32:30,760 --> 01:32:34,000 Speaker 5: Brandon Wise, our editor over at CBS Sports, sort of 2028 01:32:34,040 --> 01:32:36,360 Speaker 5: was explaining to someone on the staff about why we 2029 01:32:36,439 --> 01:32:38,439 Speaker 5: love combat sports because at the end of the day, 2030 01:32:38,479 --> 01:32:41,479 Speaker 5: it's a battle of wills between two people. 2031 01:32:41,840 --> 01:32:42,320 Speaker 4: For all the. 2032 01:32:42,280 --> 01:32:44,360 Speaker 5: Training and preparation, all the coaching, at the end of 2033 01:32:44,400 --> 01:32:47,120 Speaker 5: the day, it's two people who go in there and 2034 01:32:47,200 --> 01:32:50,120 Speaker 5: have to execute at the highest level and put all 2035 01:32:50,160 --> 01:32:52,839 Speaker 5: of their heart and spirit in there with their technique. 2036 01:32:52,840 --> 01:32:56,160 Speaker 5: And that's what is he did supremely why supremely technical, 2037 01:32:56,360 --> 01:32:58,360 Speaker 5: But you do not get there unless you have the 2038 01:32:58,439 --> 01:33:01,759 Speaker 5: determination and an en domitable will to make it happen. 2039 01:33:02,280 --> 01:33:04,960 Speaker 5: I certainly think that goes down as one of the 2040 01:33:05,000 --> 01:33:09,200 Speaker 5: greatest examples of triumph and overcoming. And you can make 2041 01:33:09,240 --> 01:33:12,680 Speaker 5: the argument that, hey, Alex deserves a rematch, or I 2042 01:33:12,760 --> 01:33:14,880 Speaker 5: disagree just because we I think we do have to 2043 01:33:14,920 --> 01:33:18,040 Speaker 5: sort of isolate MMA versus kickboxing. You can make the 2044 01:33:18,160 --> 01:33:20,760 Speaker 5: argument that Alex has I mean, he does have three 2045 01:33:20,800 --> 01:33:24,559 Speaker 5: wins over Izzy, but in that moment, in that encapsulated space, 2046 01:33:24,920 --> 01:33:27,720 Speaker 5: the way he was able to overcome adversity and the 2047 01:33:27,760 --> 01:33:31,080 Speaker 5: speech afterwards. Just Chef's kiss Izzy all credit. That's an 2048 01:33:31,240 --> 01:33:31,880 Speaker 5: iconic moment. 2049 01:33:32,360 --> 01:33:36,040 Speaker 3: It really was all right, last but not least by 2050 01:33:36,200 --> 01:33:39,439 Speaker 3: or Sell Jake Paul will find a way to fight 2051 01:33:39,720 --> 01:33:41,840 Speaker 3: Ali Muhammad Ali's grandchildren. 2052 01:33:42,240 --> 01:33:45,000 Speaker 4: Here we go. So it is okay, okay, okay. 2053 01:33:44,760 --> 01:33:46,000 Speaker 3: Hold on, hold on, let me just read it out 2054 01:33:46,000 --> 01:33:48,040 Speaker 3: in boxing, here's what he wanted to do. He wanted 2055 01:33:48,040 --> 01:33:50,559 Speaker 3: to fight Nico Ali Walsh, the boxer. He says, this 2056 01:33:50,600 --> 01:33:52,840 Speaker 3: is Nico ali Walsh talking. I've been asked a few 2057 01:33:52,840 --> 01:33:54,840 Speaker 3: times I would say it for me personally, that's not 2058 01:33:54,920 --> 01:33:55,920 Speaker 3: something I'm interested in. 2059 01:33:56,120 --> 01:33:57,519 Speaker 4: I want to make a career for myself. I want 2060 01:33:57,560 --> 01:33:59,920 Speaker 4: to continue my grandfather's legacy and carve out my own 2061 01:34:00,040 --> 01:34:01,680 Speaker 4: path as well. I feel like no disrespect to him, 2062 01:34:01,680 --> 01:34:03,880 Speaker 4: but once you fight someone in that category, I think, 2063 01:34:03,920 --> 01:34:06,120 Speaker 4: like YouTuber thing, you. 2064 01:34:06,080 --> 01:34:08,439 Speaker 3: Often get categorized as that type of fighter. And then 2065 01:34:08,600 --> 01:34:12,719 Speaker 3: Biagio Ali Walsh, who is the PFL amateur. Nico fights 2066 01:34:12,760 --> 01:34:14,800 Speaker 3: at one sixty two and I fight at one fifty five. 2067 01:34:14,840 --> 01:34:16,800 Speaker 3: I don't have a problem with Jake, but he should 2068 01:34:16,800 --> 01:34:18,640 Speaker 3: fight someone his own size. I don't know why he 2069 01:34:18,680 --> 01:34:20,960 Speaker 3: is trying to fight people smaller than him. He fought 2070 01:34:20,960 --> 01:34:24,360 Speaker 3: at cruiserweight in boxing, so fight at the same weight 2071 01:34:24,439 --> 01:34:24,960 Speaker 3: in MMA. 2072 01:34:25,120 --> 01:34:27,040 Speaker 4: That's a fair point. That's a fair point. 2073 01:34:27,439 --> 01:34:30,519 Speaker 5: It's the exact reason I'm so vehemently against a Nate 2074 01:34:30,560 --> 01:34:33,559 Speaker 5: Daz Jake Paul fight. Like, certainly I want Nate Dz 2075 01:34:33,600 --> 01:34:36,400 Speaker 5: to get that payday, but the size discrepancy, the damage 2076 01:34:36,400 --> 01:34:38,880 Speaker 5: that Nates take, and it's just too wide sell this. 2077 01:34:39,280 --> 01:34:42,040 Speaker 5: I think Jake Paul, I mean, listen, he makes a lot, 2078 01:34:42,120 --> 01:34:44,600 Speaker 5: a lot more money than I do. Far be it 2079 01:34:44,640 --> 01:34:46,960 Speaker 5: from me to give him business advice, But I think 2080 01:34:47,360 --> 01:34:50,320 Speaker 5: the uh sort of web traffic and pay per view 2081 01:34:50,360 --> 01:34:53,800 Speaker 5: by success of Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury over like 2082 01:34:53,840 --> 01:34:56,439 Speaker 5: the Anderson Silva fight and the second Tyron woodleiy fight. 2083 01:34:56,479 --> 01:34:59,160 Speaker 5: But I think it shows is it's a point you've 2084 01:34:59,200 --> 01:35:01,280 Speaker 5: made often that it's it seems like the people who tune 2085 01:35:01,320 --> 01:35:03,920 Speaker 5: into this are more MMA fans and boxing fans, But 2086 01:35:03,960 --> 01:35:06,000 Speaker 5: I think the people that are tuning in the most 2087 01:35:06,080 --> 01:35:08,960 Speaker 5: aren't really big fans of either. It's the internet crowd. 2088 01:35:09,320 --> 01:35:11,320 Speaker 5: So if Jake Paul wants to make a big payday 2089 01:35:11,360 --> 01:35:13,800 Speaker 5: and make the biggest fight possible, you go after the 2090 01:35:13,880 --> 01:35:16,000 Speaker 5: KSIs I mean, I I don't know that you're aware 2091 01:35:16,000 --> 01:35:20,000 Speaker 5: of this, but there was something called Mogul chess boxing 2092 01:35:20,040 --> 01:35:23,719 Speaker 5: that happened in December. It's one round of chess followed 2093 01:35:23,720 --> 01:35:26,519 Speaker 5: by one round of boxing, and the fight ends either 2094 01:35:26,680 --> 01:35:29,160 Speaker 5: when you get checkmate, or someone resigns, or you knock 2095 01:35:29,200 --> 01:35:32,080 Speaker 5: your opponent out. That thing I had ten thousand fans 2096 01:35:32,080 --> 01:35:35,759 Speaker 5: in attendance, five hundred thousand people watching the live stream, 2097 01:35:35,800 --> 01:35:38,479 Speaker 5: and three point seven million viewers to date as of 2098 01:35:38,720 --> 01:35:39,920 Speaker 5: from December till Now. 2099 01:35:40,320 --> 01:35:44,360 Speaker 4: That's right? Are you good at chess? Could you do this? 2100 01:35:44,479 --> 01:35:44,840 Speaker 4: Could you be? 2101 01:35:44,960 --> 01:35:49,400 Speaker 3: I'm I'm I'm okay in chess, probably forty three. I'm 2102 01:35:49,400 --> 01:35:51,920 Speaker 3: going to be terrible at chess boxing. Let me assure you, 2103 01:35:52,840 --> 01:35:54,519 Speaker 3: and I don't. I don't want that kind of pressure 2104 01:35:54,520 --> 01:35:56,040 Speaker 3: when I play chess to do it either. 2105 01:35:56,360 --> 01:35:59,640 Speaker 5: So that's the market, Jake Sell, Sell, go make your 2106 01:35:59,640 --> 01:36:00,560 Speaker 5: money WITHI. 2107 01:36:01,479 --> 01:36:02,639 Speaker 4: I think that's probably right. 2108 01:36:03,280 --> 01:36:05,320 Speaker 3: Well, that is it, my friend for us today we 2109 01:36:05,360 --> 01:36:07,120 Speaker 3: got the tech difficulties worked out. 2110 01:36:07,400 --> 01:36:09,400 Speaker 4: How about that? Made it work. 2111 01:36:09,240 --> 01:36:10,040 Speaker 2: Between you two? 2112 01:36:10,560 --> 01:36:12,840 Speaker 4: Underdog story forget Yeah, that's right. 2113 01:36:12,880 --> 01:36:16,120 Speaker 3: You know what triumphant moment right there in Vancouver, Canada, 2114 01:36:16,200 --> 01:36:18,519 Speaker 3: getting through one more time, folks, so tell us what 2115 01:36:18,560 --> 01:36:20,320 Speaker 3: you have coming up? Like what you mentioned you have 2116 01:36:20,320 --> 01:36:22,439 Speaker 3: a royal interview in the cooker?
