Now, because you're like, well, 0:12:32.640 --> 0:12:35.080 what can possibly be in John four? I promise you 0:12:35.400 --> 0:12:39.839 this that God showed me from John chapter four. And 0:12:40.200 --> 0:12:43.520 again I thought, you know, I know this text. It's 0:12:43.679 --> 0:12:46.640 about the Samaritan woman, the woman at the well. We 0:12:46.760 --> 0:12:50.360 call her it alliterates nicely, the woman at the well, 0:12:51.320 --> 0:12:53.760 the woman who had had five husbands, and number six 0:12:53.920 --> 0:12:56.720 wasn't her husband either. But backing up to see verses one through 0:14:26.960 --> 0:14:30.560 three was interesting for me because I noticed that Jesus 0:14:30.920 --> 0:14:37.040 refused to be controlled by the agendas of others, and 0:14:37.080 --> 0:14:40.880 that thing really started preaching to me. Because in Jesus' day, 0:14:40.920 --> 0:14:45.040 they had sometimes they had these different controversies, and they 0:14:45.080 --> 0:14:47.520 had politics. It was much different in Bible times than 0:14:47.560 --> 0:14:50.480 it is today. They had some people who supported this 0:14:50.600 --> 0:14:53.440 leader and some people who supported that leader, and then 0:14:53.440 --> 0:14:57.400 you had the Pharisees who were trying to keep their power, 0:14:57.680 --> 0:14:59.800 and in order to keep their power, they didn't care 0:14:59.840 --> 0:15:02.000 what what they had to say. They didn't care who 0:15:02.000 --> 0:15:04.360 they had to trample on, They didn't care who they 0:15:04.400 --> 0:15:07.000 had to hurt, They didn't care what misinformation they had 0:15:07.040 --> 0:15:11.680 to spread. So when the prophet from Galilee started performing miracles, 0:15:11.720 --> 0:15:14.440 he was born in Bethlehem, he grew up in Nazareth. 0:15:14.440 --> 0:15:17.720 He did his miracles in Galilee. When he started baptizing 0:15:17.760 --> 0:15:21.840 people and he started gaining popularity, he represented a threat 0:15:21.840 --> 0:15:25.600 to the religious establishment, which had become so political that 0:15:25.640 --> 0:15:29.080 they had lost the heart of the Father in pursuit 0:15:29.200 --> 0:15:33.600 of building the kingdom of their own ideologies. I just 0:15:33.680 --> 0:15:38.000 wonder if the Bible still relevant? Is the Bible still eternal? 0:15:38.320 --> 0:15:42.200 Is it still the word of God? Because we find 0:15:42.200 --> 0:15:45.200 ourselves in a time where we could use a whole 0:15:45.240 --> 0:15:50.080 lot more Jesus, a whole lot more.
