Um, whether, you know, 0:00:47.680 --> 0:00:51.000 that's maybe a medical condition or a relationship that's breaking apart, 0:00:51.040 --> 0:00:55.680 whatever that may be, they are absolutely rocked. And they 0:00:55.680 --> 0:00:58.600 are fretful. In fact, they're so fretful they're having a 0:00:58.600 --> 0:01:02.160 hard time getting their eyes off that problem, whatever that 0:01:02.160 --> 0:01:04.400 thing is. They say, I want to have that faith, 0:01:04.400 --> 0:01:07.960 but I'm struggling to do so right now. You have 0:01:07.959 --> 0:01:09.280 a word of encouragement for them today. 0:01:09.319 --> 0:01:13.600 Well, uh, the word of encouragement never changes. Uh, what 0:01:13.640 --> 0:01:18.400 deals with fret faith? How do you get faith? So 0:01:18.400 --> 0:01:21.360 then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word 0:01:21.360 --> 0:01:25.039 of God. You need a word from the Lord on 0:01:25.080 --> 0:01:29.800 that particular situation, where you have the opportunity to let 0:01:29.800 --> 0:01:35.240 the word override what you're going through. And, you know, 0:01:35.280 --> 0:01:38.880 fret and faith are like oil and water. Uh, they 0:01:38.920 --> 0:01:44.000 can't coexist. And so Hebrews 11 six says, for without 0:01:44.000 --> 0:01:47.760 faith it is impossible to please him, for he that 0:01:47.760 --> 0:01:51.919 cometh to God must believe two things that he is, 0:01:52.240 --> 0:01:55.000 and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently 0:01:55.000 --> 0:01:57.320 seek him. And what I like about that verse is, 0:01:57.320 --> 0:01:59.840 it doesn't say, you even have to find him. It 0:01:59.840 --> 0:02:03.760 just says you have to be seeking him and know 0:02:03.760 --> 0:02:08.040 that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. 0:02:08.040 --> 0:02:11.919 And so now, rather than allowing my problem to run 0:02:11.919 --> 0:02:16.519 after me, I do a reverse and I run after God, 0:02:16.760 --> 0:02:21.040 and God will take care of my problem. The first 0:02:21.040 --> 0:02:23.239 thing he wants to do is he wants to give 0:02:23.240 --> 0:02:27.200 me inner tranquility in the midst of outer turbulence. Remember 0:02:27.200 --> 0:02:29.680 what he said to the disciples, the boat was in 0:02:29.680 --> 0:02:35.760 the water and they were fearing drowning. And Jesus said, 0:02:35.760 --> 0:02:39.000 fear not. 365 fear not. So I didn't count them, 0:02:39.000 --> 0:02:42.720 but I heard Doctor David Jeremiah say, there are 365 0:02:43.320 --> 0:02:46.000 fear nots in the Bible. Why did he tell them? 0:02:46.040 --> 0:02:49.200 Fear not before he calmed the sea. See, he had 0:02:49.200 --> 0:02:52.480 to calm the storm on the inside of them before 0:02:52.480 --> 0:02:55.560 he calmed the storm on the outside. Why? Because if 0:02:55.560 --> 0:02:58.600 he only calmed the storm on the outside, the situation 0:02:58.600 --> 0:03:01.630 is gone. But I'm still living it. Yeah. And how 0:03:01.630 --> 0:03:04.869 many people have gone through that, Steve? Well, how 0:04:32.190 --> 0:04:34.430 come it ain't doing you any good? Because you ain't 0:04:34.430 --> 0:04:38.110 activated with your faith. Because your faith activates it. If 0:05:15.950 --> 0:05:18.789 I pray, then, then I won't worry. But he says 0:05:18.790 --> 0:05:22.789 don't worry and then pray. Oh yeah, I see it. 0:05:23.510 --> 0:05:27.830 You ever notice that? Most of the time Jesus talked 0:05:27.830 --> 0:05:29.789 to his disciples when they have a problem, the first 0:05:29.790 --> 0:05:34.510 thing he said is, don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. 0:05:34.510 --> 0:05:39.309 Matthew 14. Uh, they're out on the water, and the water, uh, 0:05:39.350 --> 0:05:42.790 is doing the nay, nay, boom, boom, boom, boom, breaking 0:05:42.790 --> 0:05:47.750 it down. Bring it back up. Boom, boom. Yeah, it's 0:05:47.750 --> 0:05:51.110 doing the nay, nay. And these are fishermen. They've been 0:05:51.110 --> 0:05:54.229 on this water a long time. Peter, James and Peter 0:05:54.230 --> 0:05:58.710 and and Andrew and they're upset. And Jesus come walking 0:05:58.710 --> 0:06:01.270 on the water and and they say it's Casper the 0:06:01.270 --> 0:06:06.030 Friendly Ghost. He says, no, it's me. Do not be afraid. 0:06:06.029 --> 0:06:10.349 In verse 27. Then verse 32 says, he shut the 0:06:10.350 --> 0:06:13.070 wind up. Now why didn't he shut the wind up 0:06:13.070 --> 0:06:15.310 so that they wouldn't be afraid? Here it is. And 0:06:15.310 --> 0:06:18.230 you know it very well, don't you, that Jesus lets 0:06:18.230 --> 0:06:21.390 us know. The reason he's telling us this first is 0:06:21.390 --> 0:06:24.190 because he has to calm the storm that's on the 0:06:24.190 --> 0:06:26.790 inside of us before he calms the storm that's on 0:06:26.790 --> 0:06:29.909 the outside of us. Because if he calms the storm, 0:06:29.910 --> 0:06:32.630 that's on the outside of us and leaves the storm 0:06:32.630 --> 0:06:35.470 that's on the inside of us, that even when he 0:06:35.470 --> 0:06:38.350 calms the storm on the outside of us, the storm 0:06:38.350 --> 0:06:40.390 on the inside of us is still in us. Here 0:06:40.390 --> 0:06:42.310 it is, here it is, here it is. Here it is. 0:06:42.310 --> 0:06:47.270 Jesus got to deal with that emotion because you can 0:06:47.270 --> 0:06:49.710 be out of the storm, but the storm won't be 0:06:49.710 --> 0:06:55.349 out of you. Some of you know it. The thing 0:06:55.350 --> 0:06:58.990 that you stressing about and and messed up over happened 0:06:58.990 --> 0:07:03.750 years ago. Come The storm is still in you. The 0:07:03.750 --> 0:07:06.350 person who did it may be dead, but the storm 0:07:06.350 --> 0:07:10.390 is still in you. You still ain't forgiven, daddy. You 0:07:10.390 --> 0:07:13.989 still haven't forgiven mama. You haven't forgiven that individual because 0:07:13.990 --> 0:07:16.990 the storm is still in you. I heard a person 0:07:16.990 --> 0:07:19.790 talking about the fact that, uh, there was a guy 0:07:19.790 --> 0:07:23.350 in North Carolina or South Carolina. Uh, he went swimming. 0:07:23.390 --> 0:07:28.070 He came back home, and, uh, he died. The coroner 0:07:28.070 --> 0:07:34.950 said he drowned. They called it a dry drowning because 0:07:35.070 --> 0:07:37.910 when he was there, he swallowed some water in the 0:07:37.910 --> 0:07:42.030 pool that didn't go into his lungs until he he 0:07:42.070 --> 0:07:45.070 he went to sleep and he drowned. And he wasn't 0:07:45.070 --> 0:07:49.230 in the pool. He was out of it, but it 0:07:49.230 --> 0:07:54.270 wasn't out of him. Whole lot of people like that. 0:07:54.950 --> 0:08:00.030 Whole lot of people. So this text says, listen, stop worrying, 0:08:00.070 --> 0:08:02.550 then go to prayer. Why? So that when we go 0:08:02.550 --> 0:08:06.510 to God, we go as a victor and not a victim. 0:08:08.230 --> 0:08:13.030 That you and I realize that you can't be faithful 0:08:13.230 --> 0:08:16.630 and fretful at the same time. Number one, 0:14:14.500 --> 0:14:18.420 he says, don't worry, because it shows a preoccupation with 0:14:18.420 --> 0:14:23.180 material things that divides your spiritual focus 19 through 24. 0:14:23.220 --> 0:14:27.300 Then secondly, he says it violates the explicit command of God, 0:14:27.300 --> 0:14:30.500 like this one where he says, don't worry, that's verse 25. 0:14:30.540 --> 0:14:35.060 He says, life is more than just physical needs. That's 0:14:35.060 --> 0:14:38.500 why you shouldn't worry. Then he says, fourthly, you are 0:14:38.540 --> 0:14:42.580 valuable in God's eyes. Don't worry. Then he says, fifthly, 0:14:42.620 --> 0:14:45.700 God will faithfully provide what you need. Don't worry. Then 0:14:45.700 --> 0:14:48.860 he says, sixthly if you worry, it demonstrates a lack 0:14:48.860 --> 0:14:52.460 of faith in God. Seventh, he said, it reveals a 0:14:52.460 --> 0:14:58.020 pagan mentality toward life. Uh, no spiritual comprehension. Uh, then 0:14:58.020 --> 0:15:03.570 he says, uh, number eight, you're bringing tomorrow's troubles into today, then? 0:15:03.570 --> 0:15:09.090 Number nine, it demonstrates a need for your recommitment to God. 0:15:11.690 --> 0:15:16.090 And then he says, number ten. Don't worry. Because why? 0:15:16.090 --> 0:15:21.250 You worry about tomorrow when it ain't promised to you.
