You would take 0:01:20.840 --> 0:01:25.000 things from your job. Uh, I heard when revival struck 0:01:25.000 --> 0:01:29.039 in Wales years ago, the great Welsh revival, it was 0:01:29.080 --> 0:01:33.480 a mining community, and they talked about people getting things right. 0:01:33.480 --> 0:01:37.520 And if they had stolen, making restitution, so many miners 0:01:37.520 --> 0:01:41.440 had stolen tools from the mining place that they all 0:01:41.440 --> 0:01:45.559 started returning the tools they had stolen. And the bosses 0:01:45.560 --> 0:01:48.760 finally had to say, stop returning the tools, because they 0:01:48.760 --> 0:01:51.800 had piles of tools from the miners who had been 0:01:51.800 --> 0:01:56.280 stealing them from their mining jobs. You would call 0:05:02.500 --> 0:05:05.659 people names that hurt them. You would use your tongue 0:05:05.660 --> 0:05:08.940 and cutting ways. That was the old Jew. A lot 0:05:08.980 --> 0:05:11.260 of stuff used to come out of your mouth and 0:05:11.260 --> 0:05:16.700 cussing and dirty jokes and and just talk. He's not only saying, take off the old, 0:08:30.240 --> 0:08:33.920 he's saying, put on the new, take off the old 0:08:33.920 --> 0:08:40.360 and put on the new. There's power in our words. 0:08:42.679 --> 0:08:47.240 There's power in our words. It affects people when we 0:08:47.240 --> 0:08:51.719 speak certain ways into their life. And many of us 0:08:51.760 --> 0:08:57.240 have gotten so used to speaking negativity that there is 0:08:57.240 --> 0:09:01.760 very little encouragement and positive reinforcement that actually comes out 0:09:01.760 --> 0:09:03.959 of our mouth, and we wonder why we walk in 0:09:03.960 --> 0:09:09.280 our household, and it's full of complaining and and sadness 0:09:09.280 --> 0:09:13.280 and bickering and fighting. We wonder, because what's coming out 0:09:13.280 --> 0:09:15.960 of the mouths of the people that are in that household. 0:09:16.000 --> 0:09:18.400 Ask you that question what is coming out of the 0:09:18.400 --> 0:09:21.880 mouths in that household? You want to change that household? 0:09:21.880 --> 0:09:25.640 Start speaking something different into that household. Start speaking other 0:09:25.640 --> 0:09:29.320 words into that household. Start changing the words that are 0:09:29.559 --> 0:09:33.200 that are reverberating from the walls of that household. Do 0:09:53.200 --> 0:09:58.080 not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. You see, the 0:09:58.080 --> 0:10:00.610 Holy Spirit is not a power. He's not a force. 0:10:00.610 --> 0:10:05.730 He's a person and you can grieve the person of 0:10:05.730 --> 0:10:09.530 the Holy Spirit. You can make the Holy Spirit sad. 0:10:11.330 --> 0:10:15.530 Have you ever gone to visit a friend that you 0:10:15.530 --> 0:10:19.290 haven't seen in a while? And when you hang out 0:10:19.290 --> 0:10:24.010 with that person, their life's a mess. They're doing bad 0:10:24.850 --> 0:10:27.930 and you remember what they were, and you remember what 0:10:27.929 --> 0:10:31.929 they could be. But they're living way beneath their potential. 0:10:31.929 --> 0:10:34.290 And so it makes you sad to be around them 0:10:34.290 --> 0:10:36.650 because you think, why are they living this way? They 0:10:36.650 --> 0:10:39.770 could live such a such a different life. Why are 0:10:39.770 --> 0:10:42.490 they choosing this way? And so being around them just 0:10:42.490 --> 0:10:45.730 makes you sad. Have you ever been in that situation 0:10:46.809 --> 0:10:48.969 because you realize that they could live a different way, 0:10:48.970 --> 0:10:53.730 and it grieves you to be around them? Listen, the 0:10:53.730 --> 0:10:56.490 Holy Spirit is inside of you and the Holy Spirit 0:10:56.490 --> 0:11:01.130 grieves when you are living way beneath your calling. The 0:11:01.130 --> 0:11:05.770 Holy Spirit is saddened when he knows what you could be, 0:11:05.770 --> 0:11:08.490 but you live down here when he knows you could 0:11:08.490 --> 0:11:11.890 live up here. The Holy Spirit is grieved inside of 0:11:11.890 --> 0:11:14.650 you when you live like the old Jew, when you've 0:11:14.650 --> 0:11:17.530 been given the power to be become a new you, 0:11:17.890 --> 0:11:20.250 the Holy Spirit grieves inside. If right now there's someone 0:16:49.760 --> 0:16:53.880 that is you've locked in the jail of unforgiveness, you're 0:16:53.880 --> 0:16:56.520 grieving the Holy Spirit. If you are bitter right now, 0:16:56.520 --> 0:16:58.960 you're grieving the Holy Spirit. If you're full of rage 0:16:58.960 --> 0:17:02.480 right now, you're grieving the Holy Spirit. If inside of 0:17:02.480 --> 0:17:07.000 you there is a contentiousness, a critical spirit inside of you, 0:17:07.000 --> 0:17:09.440 you are grieving the Holy Spirit. And if you're grieving 0:17:09.440 --> 0:17:11.639 the Holy Spirit, you will not have joy.
