And he's not only a taker, he's also 0:01:22.800 --> 0:01:25.440 a giver. Right? But, you know, we always emphasize the 0:01:25.440 --> 0:01:29.310 fact he gave us eternal life. You know, someone facetiously said, we need more 0:02:10.030 --> 0:02:12.040 than a verse a day to keep the devil away, 0:02:12.040 --> 0:02:15.520 but at least get something in the Word of God. 0:02:15.610 --> 0:02:17.620 So we need to be able to do that. We 0:02:17.620 --> 0:02:23.050 need to take time to pray. We need to begin 0:02:23.050 --> 0:02:28.389 to evangelize and take the opportunity to share our faith 0:02:28.389 --> 0:02:33.280 with other people. We also need to take the opportunity 0:02:33.280 --> 0:02:36.700 to give and to serve and to worship. So we're 0:02:36.730 --> 0:02:38.500 we're called to be takers, too. 0:02:38.530 --> 0:02:42.790 Well, we're called to be takers, but we see examples 0:02:42.790 --> 0:02:45.700 of that all throughout the Bible. We see that in 0:02:45.700 --> 0:02:48.160 the book of Joshua, the series. We've been looking at 0:02:48.160 --> 0:02:51.130 Joshua chapter one. What do we see? Joshua taking their. 0:02:51.130 --> 0:02:54.910 Well, God made them a promise, and he promised them 0:02:54.910 --> 0:02:58.000 a land that flowed with milk and honey. That first 0:02:58.000 --> 0:03:02.950 generation didn't believe it. and they died in the wilderness 0:03:02.950 --> 0:03:06.640 because of their unbelief. They wouldn't take what God told 0:03:06.639 --> 0:03:11.440 them to take. And Moses pleaded on their behalf and 0:03:11.440 --> 0:03:15.579 God said, okay, I'm not going to totally destroy all 0:03:15.580 --> 0:03:19.360 of them. I'll let them wander through the wilderness. And 0:03:19.389 --> 0:03:21.190 I don't remember who it was. I think it was 0:03:21.190 --> 0:03:26.230 maybe Doctor Pink who said it took God one day 0:03:26.230 --> 0:03:29.740 to get Israel out of Egypt, but it took him 0:03:29.740 --> 0:03:34.180 40 years to get Egypt out of Israel. And so 0:03:34.180 --> 0:03:36.400 they refused to do it. And so God shut the 0:03:36.400 --> 0:03:39.100 door because he opens the door and no man can 0:03:39.100 --> 0:03:41.380 shut it, and he shuts the door and no man 0:03:41.380 --> 0:03:43.090 can open it. And so when the door was opened, 0:03:43.090 --> 0:03:46.150 they wouldn't take it. And I think the theme is more 0:04:06.770 --> 0:04:11.120 in keeping with we need to be proactive rather than reactive. Sometimes, you know, I may get 0:13:42.590 --> 0:13:44.690 it wrong. And I tell you that.
