And I remember thinking 0:00:48.590 --> 0:00:50.960 about that a little bit and exactly what we're going 0:00:50.990 --> 0:00:54.050 to be talking about in today's broadcast. As a matter of fact, 0:01:33.959 --> 0:01:36.870 I heard a story about a husband who had died. 0:01:36.870 --> 0:01:39.030 And the wife had her five children, all in the 0:01:39.030 --> 0:01:41.640 front row. And the preacher got up to eulogize them. 0:01:41.640 --> 0:01:44.550 And he said, you know, this man was a great man. 0:01:44.550 --> 0:01:48.540 He was a good Christian. He loved his wife, and 0:01:48.540 --> 0:01:51.540 he took care of his children. Finally, the mother couldn't 0:01:51.570 --> 0:01:54.150 take it anymore. She said, Johnny, go up there and 0:01:54.150 --> 0:01:58.770 see if that's really your daddy in that casket. And 0:01:58.770 --> 0:02:02.860 so the dash is so important because it talks about 0:02:03.160 --> 0:02:06.730 what we have done in life. There's a home going 0:02:06.730 --> 0:02:10.330 and there's a funeral. Here's my distinction. A funeral is 0:02:10.330 --> 0:02:14.860 for individuals who don't know Jesus, but a homegoing is 0:02:14.860 --> 0:02:17.800 for those who do know Jesus. Because if you know 0:02:17.800 --> 0:02:22.480 Jesus on this side of heaven, when a person dies, 0:02:22.480 --> 0:02:25.240 we say, there they go. But in heaven they say, 0:02:25.240 --> 0:02:29.170 here they come. Yeah. And so then what have you contributed? 0:02:29.200 --> 0:02:32.800 Have you fulfilled your purpose and your destiny? God has 0:02:32.800 --> 0:02:36.010 gifted you and given you eternal life, and have blessed 0:02:36.040 --> 0:02:39.429 you with all blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. 0:02:39.460 --> 0:02:44.020 Ephesians one three. What did you do with that dash? 0:02:44.169 --> 0:02:46.690 And so whenever I you know, I just did it. 0:02:46.720 --> 0:02:49.299 One of my members went home to be with the Lord. 0:02:49.300 --> 0:02:53.620 And just Sunday evening we had our homegoing celebration. And 0:02:53.620 --> 0:03:00.639 I said, boy, we celebrate the life, the labor, the 0:03:00.669 --> 0:03:05.559 love and the legacy of this sister, and she left 0:03:05.560 --> 0:03:09.370 a profound impact not on just our congregation. There were 0:03:09.370 --> 0:03:12.190 people there that we didn't even know, that she had 0:03:12.190 --> 0:03:14.590 taken them in and taken care of them. On and 0:03:14.620 --> 0:03:18.760 on it goes. And so you think about it. She 0:03:18.760 --> 0:03:23.919 preached her own homegoing by the way she lived. 0:03:23.980 --> 0:03:27.490 I love that. Well, we right now need to turn 0:03:27.490 --> 0:03:30.549 our attention to the Book of Esther, where in chapter four, 0:03:30.580 --> 0:03:34.330 as we begin a message entitled It's Your Time, here 0:03:34.330 --> 0:03:35.560 is Pastor Ford. 0:03:36.040 --> 0:03:39.130 A pastor was bi vocational, and there are a lot 0:03:39.160 --> 0:03:42.820 of pastors like that, especially when you plant a church. Uh, 0:03:42.820 --> 0:03:48.610 they work in the ministry and they work a secular job. 0:03:48.610 --> 0:03:52.270 I just want to go on record thanking you that 0:03:52.270 --> 0:03:55.900 I don't have to do that because of you. So this pastor took 0:04:07.340 --> 0:04:11.810 on a second job as a lifeguard, and he kept 0:04:11.810 --> 0:04:17.150 wondering what was happening because people kept drowning. And so 0:04:17.150 --> 0:04:19.070 they said, we gotta find out what's going on. We 0:04:19.100 --> 0:04:22.130 got a lifeguard. We're paying this brother. So he's sitting 0:04:22.130 --> 0:04:24.859 up there in that big chair, and all of a 0:04:24.860 --> 0:04:29.719 sudden somebody is drowning. They're going down once, they're going 0:04:29.720 --> 0:04:32.029 down twice, and all of a sudden he stands up 0:04:32.029 --> 0:04:39.589 and says, I see that hand. And you'll get it 0:04:39.589 --> 0:04:46.700 on the way home. Uh, here's the reason. See, if 0:04:46.700 --> 0:04:51.560 you look at that little joke, the time came for 0:04:51.560 --> 0:04:56.060 his purpose to be fulfilled, but he was confused about 0:04:56.060 --> 0:05:01.380 his purpose. So he missed his Time and he would 0:05:01.380 --> 0:05:06.570 have to wait until next time. The old preacher used 0:05:06.570 --> 0:05:10.860 to say it this way. On the tombstone, there's the 0:05:10.860 --> 0:05:16.200 day of one's birth and the day of one's death, 0:05:16.200 --> 0:05:19.860 and a dash in the middle. Anybody ever heard him preach? 0:05:19.890 --> 0:05:25.800 What would they say? You don't control the two dates. 0:05:25.800 --> 0:05:28.950 The day you're born and the day you die. See, in Esther chapter four, verse 14, 0:05:46.350 --> 0:05:50.969 it says. For such a time as this. That's all 0:05:50.970 --> 0:05:53.370 I want to talk about today. For such a time 0:05:53.370 --> 0:05:55.950 as this. Now you know the time. You know it. 0:05:55.950 --> 0:05:58.859 You know it well. Come on. What's kairos time? 0:05:58.860 --> 0:06:01.570 That's God's God perfect time. 0:06:01.570 --> 0:06:06.039 Because that's God's time. Which chronos time. That's people time. 0:06:06.040 --> 0:06:10.900 What's eschatos time? That's prophetic time. And then this word 0:06:10.900 --> 0:06:14.800 is at what time is that purpose? Time. And remember, 0:06:14.800 --> 0:06:20.320 there is no there is no hammer time. Oh man 0:06:21.070 --> 0:06:26.110 G so then every one of us has a set 0:06:26.140 --> 0:06:32.560 time that goes along with your purpose. You have a purpose, 0:06:32.560 --> 0:06:36.460 and your purpose has a time. And both of them 0:06:36.460 --> 0:06:40.659 must come together for you to reach your destiny and 0:06:40.660 --> 0:06:44.620 fulfill the purpose for which God has called you. See, 0:06:44.620 --> 0:06:50.020 if you look at circumstances, you can miss your time. 0:06:51.130 --> 0:06:54.940 And so what's going on? You know the context real quick. Uh, Esther, 0:06:54.970 --> 0:06:58.510 the king has had a 30 day headache, and, uh, 0:06:58.510 --> 0:07:02.360 Haman has gotten a writ against the Jews and they're 0:07:02.360 --> 0:07:04.820 going to kill him. It's going to be genocide. They're 0:07:04.820 --> 0:07:09.169 going to wipe them all out. And so, uh, Mordechai 0:07:09.200 --> 0:07:12.619 goes to Esther and says, hey, go to the King 0:07:12.620 --> 0:07:17.540 and beseech him that he would not destroy our people 0:07:17.570 --> 0:07:21.380 because the king didn't know that Esther was a Jew. 0:07:21.830 --> 0:07:24.890 And so and so she told him, the king has 0:07:24.890 --> 0:07:28.340 had a 30 day headache. If she went before the 0:07:28.340 --> 0:07:31.430 king and he didn't hold out his scepter, she would 0:07:31.430 --> 0:07:38.390 be killed. Remember what happened to the last queen, Vashti? Yeah. 0:07:38.420 --> 0:07:41.510 And then Mordecai hit her with those words. You know, 0:07:41.510 --> 0:07:44.300 if you don't go and get deliverance from the Jews, 0:07:44.330 --> 0:07:47.270 God's going to use somebody else. But how do you 0:07:47.270 --> 0:07:51.170 know that he hasn't called you for such a time 0:07:51.170 --> 0:07:56.480 as this? God prepared you for this time, and this 0:07:56.480 --> 0:08:01.080 time for you. See, here's how he does it with 0:08:01.110 --> 0:08:06.600 is he tonality? He controls time with his omnipotence. He 0:08:06.600 --> 0:08:10.770 controls us, and he brings them both together so we 0:08:10.770 --> 0:08:14.790 can fulfill our God given destiny. In fact, the very 0:08:14.790 --> 0:08:21.390 circumstances that makes you hesitate are to make you hurry. See, 0:08:21.390 --> 0:08:25.440 the king hasn't called for Esther. And the queen got 0:08:25.440 --> 0:08:32.370 deposed for making him upset. Yet her being removed made 0:08:32.370 --> 0:08:38.340 room for you, Esther. In other words, look, look. You 0:08:38.340 --> 0:08:43.140 are where you are now. Because someone was in the 0:08:43.140 --> 0:08:47.340 spot that God ultimately had for you, and the time 0:08:47.340 --> 0:08:51.360 wasn't right. Things weren't set up for you to take 0:08:51.360 --> 0:08:58.980 your place. But now's the time. Now's the time. Yeah, 0:08:58.980 --> 0:09:06.570 it's like she was just holding Esther's spot and stuff 0:09:06.570 --> 0:09:11.760 for the time. Yes, sir. Somebody will get it. Yeah. 0:09:11.790 --> 0:09:16.740 And so now God has made it time for you 0:09:16.740 --> 0:09:23.760 to occupy it. Somebody's holding your stuff. Somebody's holding your spot. 0:09:23.940 --> 0:09:26.459 I say it all the time. I look around because 0:09:26.460 --> 0:09:27.930 it says the wealth of the wicked is stored up 0:09:27.929 --> 0:09:34.410 for the righteous. I'm righteous. And I know that some 0:09:34.410 --> 0:09:41.160 wicked person is storing up my stuff. So every time 0:09:41.160 --> 0:09:43.199 I'm witness to an unbeliever, I wonder, is this the 0:09:43.200 --> 0:09:49.110 one that got my stuff? Y'all laughing? I'm serious about it. 0:09:49.200 --> 0:09:53.310 I'm serious. Remember what God told them? He said, I'm 0:09:53.309 --> 0:09:56.790 going to bring you into a land that flows with 0:09:56.790 --> 0:10:00.910 milk and honey. A land with fruit trees that you 0:10:00.910 --> 0:10:06.400 didn't plant, houses you didn't build. In other words, God said, 0:10:06.400 --> 0:10:09.790 I let them accumulate all of that, and I let 0:10:09.790 --> 0:10:13.450 them do it so that you can walk in and 0:10:13.450 --> 0:10:16.540 water in the wine. You come from poverty and you're 0:10:16.540 --> 0:10:20.140 going to prosperity, and all of it set out. All 0:10:20.140 --> 0:10:26.050 you got to do is walk in and possess it. Mm. 0:10:26.290 --> 0:10:35.290 Think about it. Saul was just holding David's spot, that's all. Huh? See, 0:10:35.620 --> 0:10:43.120 God moved vastly. Then the question is, can God move 0:10:43.150 --> 0:10:49.840 Esther now? Everything is set up. And notice. Notice what 0:10:49.840 --> 0:10:56.830 happens because God gave her what she needed for such 0:10:56.860 --> 0:11:01.670 a time as this. What was the gift he gave her? beauty. 0:11:02.330 --> 0:11:09.559 Her beauty became the gift that brought her entrance into 0:11:09.559 --> 0:11:14.600 the king. So that God use what he gave her.
