And you know, we're emotional creatures. I'm not 0:00:57.480 --> 0:01:03.920 disregarding that. But our volition controls our emotion. God will keep 0:10:32.260 --> 0:10:37.020 us from being paralyzed by fear when we trust him. 0:10:37.140 --> 0:10:40.900 In the midst of all that we're going through in 0:10:40.900 --> 0:10:45.540 our trials, our tests, and our tribulation. God says, I've 0:10:45.540 --> 0:10:49.380 got to get that fear out of you. Uh, because 0:10:49.540 --> 0:10:54.100 it will paralyze you. It will immobilize you. It will 0:10:54.100 --> 0:10:59.180 keep you from what I have for you. When you 0:10:59.179 --> 0:11:03.020 go through what you've gone through. In other words, God 0:11:03.020 --> 0:11:06.260 says what you fear does and and your haters and 0:11:06.260 --> 0:11:11.740 everybody else. It keeps you from seeing God. It keeps 0:11:11.740 --> 0:11:14.820 you from seeing what he has for you. It blocks 0:11:14.820 --> 0:11:19.740 your vision. It keeps you, uh, under doubt and worry 0:11:19.900 --> 0:11:23.940 and all the things that keep us. And he says, listen, uh, 0:11:23.940 --> 0:11:28.780 but when you know who God is and not just 0:11:28.820 --> 0:11:33.020 talk about who God is, but walk who God is, 0:11:33.220 --> 0:11:36.900 then guess what? He gives seven 0:12:10.860 --> 0:12:13.700 reasons I won't get to all of them. You know that. Uh, 0:12:13.700 --> 0:12:16.780 but listen to what he says in this Psalm in, 0:12:16.780 --> 0:12:21.020 in verse one. I ain't never scared because of my 0:12:21.020 --> 0:12:26.540 celebration about God. He says, number two, verse two, I 0:12:26.540 --> 0:12:32.180 ain't never scared because of the conquest, my conquest through God. 0:12:32.460 --> 0:12:35.660 Verse three he says, I ain't never scared because of 0:12:35.660 --> 0:12:39.939 my confidence in God. Verses four through six he says, 0:12:39.940 --> 0:12:44.060 I ain't never scared because of my communion with God. 0:12:44.300 --> 0:12:47.660 Verses seven through ten he says, I ain't never scared 0:12:47.660 --> 0:12:52.180 because of my communication to God. 11 through 13 he says, 0:12:52.179 --> 0:12:56.380 I ain't never scared because of my counsel from God. 0:12:56.380 --> 0:12:58.420 And then he ends up in verse 14 with the 0:12:58.420 --> 0:13:01.300 icing on the cake. He says. The seventh reason I 0:13:01.300 --> 0:13:04.699 ain't never scared is because of my commitment to God. 0:13:04.900 --> 0:13:07.700 And so if you can get these principles and walk 0:13:07.700 --> 0:13:10.740 out with them, you could walk out in the parking lot, 0:13:11.100 --> 0:13:14.699 turn on your boom box and your ride bump it. 0:13:14.940 --> 0:13:18.939 I ain't never scared. And so 0:14:01.020 --> 0:14:02.860 he lets us know some things. Let me show you. 0:14:02.860 --> 0:14:05.420 Imma drop em now. Push em. Notice what he says 0:14:05.420 --> 0:14:08.020 in verse one, two and three. Get it? In verse one, 0:14:08.540 --> 0:14:15.620 I'm celebrating God's provision for my present. Verse two I'm 0:14:15.620 --> 0:14:22.260 celebrating God's protection in my past. Verse three I'm celebrating 0:14:22.260 --> 0:14:28.460 God's providence about my prophetic future. Notice what he's saying. 0:14:28.460 --> 0:14:32.020 I got full coverage that God has me covered, that 0:14:32.020 --> 0:14:35.140 he covered me. Right now. The Lord is the Lord 0:14:35.140 --> 0:14:38.460 is the Lord is in his person. He's present. But 0:14:38.460 --> 0:14:41.020 then you need to know. Verse two I know he 0:14:41.020 --> 0:14:43.700 protect me in the present because he protected me in 0:14:43.700 --> 0:14:46.860 the past, and because he's here with me right now, 0:14:47.060 --> 0:14:50.260 because he's always taking care of me in the past. 0:14:50.460 --> 0:14:53.580 I look to my future and I know everything's covered 0:14:53.580 --> 0:14:57.220 there as well. So I ain't never scared now. I 0:14:57.220 --> 0:15:03.370 ain't never scared then. I ain't never scared. Yeah. And 0:15:03.410 --> 0:15:06.770 that's what he wants us to know. See? See, David 0:15:07.130 --> 0:15:09.650 wrote this psalm at a time when he was running 0:15:09.650 --> 0:15:13.890 for his life. And so, uh, scholars don't agree whether 0:15:13.890 --> 0:15:17.130 he was running from Saul or Absalom, if Saul. It 0:15:17.130 --> 0:15:20.010 was early in his life it was Absalom. It's later 0:15:20.010 --> 0:15:23.210 in his life. But who cares? You know, if you're 0:15:23.210 --> 0:15:27.930 running for your life. It don't matter whether it's family 0:15:27.930 --> 0:15:32.330 or foe. You running for your life. And so he's 0:15:32.330 --> 0:15:35.210 running for his life. And so what's the celebration about? 0:15:35.210 --> 0:15:38.010 Because God's asking him the question that he may be 0:15:38.010 --> 0:15:42.010 asking you and I. David, you can praise me when 0:15:42.010 --> 0:15:46.010 you're ruling, but can you praise me when you're running? 0:15:48.250 --> 0:15:51.850 You can praise me when everything's going well. But how 0:15:51.850 --> 0:15:56.290 about when everything is going bad? And David is saying, listen, listen, 0:15:56.290 --> 0:15:59.170 I want you to understand something in this Psalm. I'm 0:15:59.210 --> 0:16:01.410 giving you this psalm because I want you to know 0:16:01.410 --> 0:16:04.890 that every time I get into adversity, I look and 0:16:04.890 --> 0:16:07.290 see that I've got full coverage. But then I begin 0:16:07.290 --> 0:16:10.250 to realize that my good days I weigh my bad 0:16:10.250 --> 0:16:13.970 days so I won't complain. I'm going to praise him 0:16:14.130 --> 0:16:17.170 because my good days. You know that song, right? Well, 0:16:17.210 --> 0:16:19.930 Mother Carter went home to be with the Lord, and 0:16:19.930 --> 0:16:23.330 I funeralized her. I did her homegoing celebration, and one 0:16:23.330 --> 0:16:25.330 of the things I tried to do was this. I 0:16:25.330 --> 0:16:28.730 tried to get the family to see that her good 0:16:28.730 --> 0:16:33.210 days outweighed her bad days, because she was 88 years old. 0:16:33.210 --> 0:16:35.410 And this is what I said to them to try 0:16:35.410 --> 0:16:38.650 to encourage them, like David is trying to encourage her. 0:16:38.690 --> 0:16:41.050 I said, listen, there's a song that says my good 0:16:41.050 --> 0:16:44.130 days outweigh my bad days, so I won't complain. I 0:16:44.130 --> 0:16:47.810 tell you, family, you should not complain because her good 0:16:47.810 --> 0:16:52.170 days outweighed her bad days. She was without Christ eight years, 0:16:52.530 --> 0:16:55.530 but she walked with Christ for 80 years, so her 0:16:55.530 --> 0:16:58.970 good days outweighed her bad days. She was sick for 0:16:58.970 --> 0:17:03.050 the last six years, but she was well for 82 years. 0:17:03.050 --> 0:17:07.609 Her good days outweighed her bad days.
