And it is. But it's also a message 0:00:41.200 --> 0:00:45.120 about how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead because of 0:00:45.120 --> 0:00:49.199 his resurrection power. And as Pastor Ford just pointed out, 0:00:49.479 --> 0:00:53.360 when we see his resurrection power, we're probably going to 0:00:53.360 --> 0:00:57.760 be led to more prayer and more praise. I don't need to die to have 0:03:11.350 --> 0:03:16.630 resurrection power. I am the resurrection and the life. And 0:03:16.630 --> 0:03:20.149 because you can't keep a God man down, you're not 0:03:20.150 --> 0:03:22.070 going to be able to keep a good man down. 0:03:22.070 --> 0:03:25.070 Here it is. Notice in this resurrection celebration, there are 0:03:25.070 --> 0:03:29.150 five elements of this resurrection celebration. Number one, let's go on. Move. 0:03:29.190 --> 0:03:34.669 Look at the compassion of Christ. Verse 35 says, Jesus wept, man, 0:03:34.669 --> 0:03:37.310 I tell you, there are two verses of Scripture that 0:03:37.310 --> 0:03:41.950 everybody seems to know. This is one of them. Jesus wept. Uh, yeah. 0:03:41.950 --> 0:03:44.910 I remember, uh, my sons. I used to tell them, okay, 0:03:44.950 --> 0:03:47.630 to get a treat, you gotta have a memory verse. 0:03:47.670 --> 0:03:49.910 You gotta give me a memory verse. And I ain't 0:03:49.910 --> 0:03:53.070 going to tell you which one. Uh, came back with it. Uh, 0:03:53.070 --> 0:03:54.790 but it was that one that's up in the balcony 0:03:54.790 --> 0:03:58.110 right now. And he came back and he said, I 0:03:58.110 --> 0:04:00.710 got my verse memorized. How you do it so fast, 0:04:00.750 --> 0:04:06.310 he said. John 1135 Jesus wept. I said, oh no, 0:04:06.310 --> 0:04:12.550 he said, that's a verse. He said, all right. No. Jesus turned water 0:04:18.589 --> 0:04:22.630 into wine. Every time I witnesses, somebody got an alcohol problem. 0:04:22.630 --> 0:04:25.990 That's what they remind me of. Jesus turned water into wine, 0:04:25.990 --> 0:04:31.030 didn't he? Then he turned water into wine. Yeah. And 0:04:31.029 --> 0:04:33.870 so Jesus wept. Now, here's my question. Here's my question. 0:04:33.870 --> 0:04:38.550 Why is Jesus weeping? Didn't he already know he was 0:04:38.550 --> 0:04:45.270 going to raise him? Answer yes. Then why are you weeping? Jesus? See, 0:04:45.270 --> 0:04:48.909 there were two reasons that motivated Jesus while he walked 0:04:48.910 --> 0:04:52.430 on earth. Uh. Here's one. He saw their faith. Uh, 0:04:52.470 --> 0:04:57.029 Mark two five. Uh, he saw their faith. Luke 520. 0:04:57.070 --> 0:05:02.270 He saw their faith. Uh. Matthew 1842. 42. Matthew nine two. 0:05:02.310 --> 0:05:05.350 He moved because he saw faith. Why? Because faith is 0:05:05.350 --> 0:05:08.750 the currency of heaven. That's how you cash in on 0:05:08.790 --> 0:05:11.190 the promises of God. How do I know that? I 0:05:11.190 --> 0:05:13.790 hate to get the Bible in this, but now a 0:05:13.790 --> 0:05:18.510 word from our sponsor. So when Jesus sees faith, 0:05:27.110 --> 0:05:32.150 he acts. But there's another reason. You know what it is. Say, 0:05:32.150 --> 0:05:38.990 what is it? He was moved with compassion. Oh, I 0:05:38.990 --> 0:05:45.710 love that, because sometimes I don't have faith. And Jesus 0:05:45.710 --> 0:05:51.750 does it anyway. Because what is compassion? My pain in 0:05:51.750 --> 0:05:56.589 his heart. Your pain in his heart. And so here, 0:05:56.589 --> 0:06:00.390 now we see the compassion of Jesus. Jesus, why are 0:06:00.390 --> 0:06:03.790 you crying? Because I'm not only God, I'm also a man. 0:06:04.270 --> 0:06:06.430 And one of the things I want to convey to 0:06:06.470 --> 0:06:11.670 my people is that I know the struggles that you're 0:06:11.670 --> 0:06:15.390 going through. God the father doesn't know our struggles because 0:06:15.390 --> 0:06:21.030 he is God and he does not experience anything. Remember 0:06:21.029 --> 0:06:22.870 I asked you the question, has it ever occurred to 0:06:22.870 --> 0:06:27.109 you that nothing has ever occurred to God? Alright, but 0:06:27.110 --> 0:06:30.750 Jesus became a man and so he's saying, listen what 0:06:30.750 --> 0:06:33.950 you're going through. Are you homeless? Son of man have 0:06:33.950 --> 0:06:36.990 nowhere to lay his head. Uh, you have a home. Uh, 0:06:36.990 --> 0:06:39.750 the Son of Man does not have a home. Foxes 0:06:39.750 --> 0:06:42.230 have homes, birds have nests. But the Son of Man 0:06:42.230 --> 0:06:45.070 hath nowhere to lay his head. You've been hated on. 0:06:45.070 --> 0:06:48.230 He came into his own, and his own received him not. 0:06:48.390 --> 0:06:52.670 The same ones who hollered Hosanna! Hosanna turned around on, uh, 0:06:52.670 --> 0:06:56.990 Maundy Thursday and said, crucify him, crucify him! Yeah. Jesus 0:06:57.029 --> 0:07:00.950 wants us to know that he can relate to every 0:07:00.950 --> 0:07:05.510 struggle that we have and that he's crying out for them. 0:07:05.510 --> 0:07:10.430 He feels their pain. Why, Pastor Ford? Because there's not 0:07:10.430 --> 0:07:15.150 a friend like the lowly Jesus. No. Not one, no 0:07:15.150 --> 0:07:17.950 not one. Hebrews 414 for we have not a high 0:07:17.950 --> 0:07:21.270 priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. 0:07:21.350 --> 0:07:24.470 But in all points tempted like as we are, yet 0:07:24.470 --> 0:07:31.590 without sin. How would you define compassion, pastor? Glad you asked. 0:07:31.630 --> 0:07:33.830 I would call it the love of God that wants 0:07:33.830 --> 0:07:36.870 the best for us. The wisdom of God that knows 0:07:36.870 --> 0:07:40.190 what's best for us, the plan of God which is 0:07:40.190 --> 0:07:43.150 the best for us, and the power of God that 0:07:43.150 --> 0:07:48.750 does the best for us. So you put in the mud 0:08:56.630 --> 0:08:59.670 and you put the mud on top of it. And 0:08:59.670 --> 0:09:03.340 it only grows in moist places. And so what happens? 0:09:03.580 --> 0:09:08.020 It looks buried. But then, because you can't put it 0:09:08.020 --> 0:09:12.179 in dry earth, it won't grow. It needs mud. It 0:09:12.220 --> 0:09:17.180 draws moisture from everything. It needs to survive and to thrive. 0:09:17.420 --> 0:09:21.220 It draws from the mud. So guess what happens as 0:09:21.220 --> 0:09:26.540 it's buried there? It looks buried. You go back one day. 0:09:26.580 --> 0:09:29.420 It's still under the mud. Next day still under the mud. 0:09:29.420 --> 0:09:31.380 But guess what? You keep going back. And one day 0:09:31.380 --> 0:09:35.820 you'll see some shoots break through the mud. And as you begin to trust God, what 0:10:11.540 --> 0:10:15.260 you'll find is you're going to break through the surface 0:10:15.260 --> 0:10:18.780 of the mud and the mud that used to be 0:10:18.780 --> 0:10:21.660 on top of you. He said, father, 0:11:28.220 --> 0:11:30.980 I thank thee. When? Verse 41. Then he took away 0:11:30.980 --> 0:11:33.860 the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, father, 0:11:33.860 --> 0:11:35.980 I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I 0:11:35.980 --> 0:11:38.340 knew that thou hearest me always. But because of the 0:11:38.340 --> 0:11:40.660 people which stand by, I said it, that they may 0:11:40.660 --> 0:11:43.140 believe that thou hast sent me. He said, he says, 0:11:43.140 --> 0:11:45.340 I'm not doing this for my benefit. I'm doing it 0:11:45.340 --> 0:11:48.340 for that. I'm going to have prayer and I'm going 0:11:48.340 --> 0:11:51.060 to praise God, and it's going to be audible so 0:11:51.059 --> 0:11:53.500 that people will know that you have sent me.
