As a matter of fact, uh, when we 0:05:44.750 --> 0:05:49.349 look at the resurrection, it is the capstone of Christianity, 0:05:49.350 --> 0:05:52.510 and we know that. And so you say, what's going 0:05:52.510 --> 0:05:56.589 on here? He says the inception of it, uh, has 0:05:56.589 --> 0:06:00.789 to do with our own lust here. Now he goes 0:06:00.790 --> 0:06:07.510 from inception to reception. So God does not tempt with evil. Uh, 0:06:07.510 --> 0:06:10.870 neither tempt thee any man. But every man is drawn 0:06:10.870 --> 0:06:14.710 away of his own lust. Here's what he wants us 0:06:14.710 --> 0:06:20.510 to understand. Desire is neutral. It can be good or bad, 0:06:20.510 --> 0:06:25.590 depending on what we do with it. And so, you know, 0:06:25.630 --> 0:06:29.390 it is. First Corinthians 1013 there is no temptation 0:07:07.510 --> 0:07:09.430 taken you, but such as is common to man. Come on, you know this very well. 0:07:18.750 --> 0:07:20.830 I tell it to you all the time. Who are 0:07:20.830 --> 0:07:24.470 our enemies? How many do we have? Who are they? 0:07:25.270 --> 0:07:29.430 The world, the flesh and the devil. This is the victory that overcomes the world. 0:07:45.670 --> 0:07:48.710 Even your faith. That's a weapon. And you have to 0:07:48.710 --> 0:07:50.790 know how to use a weapon. There's a difference between 0:07:50.790 --> 0:07:54.270 a knife and a gun. And so God distinguishes what 0:07:54.270 --> 0:07:57.670 we can do to say no to each of these enemies. 0:07:57.670 --> 0:08:01.710 The world, our external enemy, the flesh, Our internal enemy 0:08:01.710 --> 0:08:05.550 and the devil are infernal enemy. And 0:08:20.670 --> 0:08:24.190 that's what Joseph did. Remember Genesis 39 seven and eight. 0:08:24.230 --> 0:08:29.350 He refused. He said, I cannot do this sin against God. 0:08:30.630 --> 0:08:36.350 And so he did not have her. You can put 0:08:36.350 --> 0:08:43.309 in your Bible. He refused, and so can I. It's 0:08:50.150 --> 0:08:52.990 a sin against God, wasn't it? Sin against Potiphar? Wasn't 0:08:52.990 --> 0:08:55.630 it sin against his own Christianity? Wasn't the sin against 0:08:55.630 --> 0:08:58.190 his people when he went to the top of the line? 0:08:58.230 --> 0:09:01.340 He said, when we all sin is sin against God. 0:09:02.420 --> 0:09:05.460 All sin is sin against God. And you know, in 0:09:05.460 --> 0:09:09.540 my devotions this morning, I ran across something that really 0:09:09.540 --> 0:09:16.459 was significant to me. And it was, uh, when God said, uh, that, uh, 0:09:16.580 --> 0:09:21.500 he called it sin when a person was falsely incarcerated, 0:09:22.179 --> 0:09:25.620 you know, you know, I put in my journal. Justice 0:09:25.660 --> 0:09:31.820 is a spiritual issue, not a secular one, anyway. So 0:09:31.820 --> 0:09:34.180 what happens? He says, every man who is drawn away 0:09:34.179 --> 0:09:40.300 and enticed. See, the devil wants us to let our 0:09:40.300 --> 0:09:43.860 desire be evil. What does he do? He always wants 0:09:43.860 --> 0:09:46.699 us to go beyond what God has said. God gives 0:09:46.700 --> 0:09:49.620 us food to enjoy. Satan says, be a glutton. He 0:09:49.620 --> 0:09:53.740 gives us wine. Satan says, be drunk. He gives us sex. 0:09:53.740 --> 0:09:57.460 He says have premarital or extramarital. He gives us sleep 0:09:57.460 --> 0:10:03.660 and we get lazy. Now he uses two metaphors. Every 0:10:03.660 --> 0:10:05.260 man is tempted when he's drawn away of his own 0:10:05.260 --> 0:10:10.500 lust and enticed. Two metaphors fishing and hunting. See, here's 0:10:10.500 --> 0:10:14.380 here's the fishing analogy. The devil goes fishing and he 0:10:14.380 --> 0:10:19.060 knows what bait to put on the hook. When? When 0:10:19.100 --> 0:10:22.620 my son was growing up, my baby boy, he loved fishing. 0:10:22.620 --> 0:10:25.460 And so, uh, Mr. Lambkin took him, and he just 0:10:25.460 --> 0:10:28.100 got he got hooked on fishing. So he would say, dad, 0:10:28.140 --> 0:10:30.820 take me fishing. And so I said, okay. So, uh, 0:10:30.820 --> 0:10:34.140 we would go up around there, especially when the salmon 0:10:34.140 --> 0:10:38.860 run and, uh, we throw it in. We never caught anything. So, uh, 0:10:38.860 --> 0:10:41.860 I asked Mr. Lambkin, I said, would you come with 0:10:41.860 --> 0:10:43.940 us one time? And and he said, what kind of 0:10:43.980 --> 0:10:46.140 bait you're using? I said, well, we didn't have any 0:10:46.140 --> 0:10:53.340 real bait, so we just used Snickers. He said, you're 0:10:53.340 --> 0:10:57.340 not going to catch fish with Snickers. I thought it 0:10:57.340 --> 0:10:59.540 was sweet. They would like it or something like that. 0:10:59.820 --> 0:11:01.940 He said, you're never going to catch anything with the 0:11:01.940 --> 0:11:05.740 kind of bait you're using. Well, the devil knows what 0:11:05.740 --> 0:11:10.100 you like. And he wiggles his bait and he hides 0:11:10.100 --> 0:11:14.740 the hook. He conceals the hook. Why? Because the hook 0:11:14.740 --> 0:11:18.020 is the consequence of taking the bait. Y'all ain't praying 0:11:18.020 --> 0:11:21.020 with me in here. That's what it is. And so 0:11:21.020 --> 0:11:24.700 he never shows you the consequences. Doesn't show you the 0:11:24.740 --> 0:11:32.660 end of it. The devastation, the abuse, the poverty, the drunkenness. 0:11:33.460 --> 0:11:36.699 Don't show you all that. Adam and Eve saw the fruit. 0:11:36.700 --> 0:11:41.660 It was good for food. And they lost the garden 0:11:41.660 --> 0:11:45.980 because of what they were looking at. They had separation 0:11:45.980 --> 0:11:49.380 from God. And so they saw the fruit. First John 215, he says that 0:13:58.300 --> 0:14:01.300 we need to To realize that we need to stop 0:14:01.300 --> 0:14:03.260 loving the world, because all that's in the world is 0:14:03.260 --> 0:14:05.340 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, 0:14:05.340 --> 0:14:07.020 and the pride of life. That's what he's going to 0:14:07.020 --> 0:14:18.700 get us from ambition, appetite and avarice, ambition, appetite and avarice. Ambition, appetite. What's he talking about there that we have 0:15:20.930 --> 0:15:23.890 been given the mind of Christ. And so we have 0:15:23.890 --> 0:15:27.130 two minds. We have our own mind, and we have 0:15:27.130 --> 0:15:33.090 Christ's mind. What mind are you in? Have you lost 0:15:33.090 --> 0:15:39.690 your mind yet? Because you'll never utilize the mind of 0:15:39.690 --> 0:15:44.850 Christ until you lose your own mind. And I went through 0:20:12.850 --> 0:20:16.090 every one. And they had four categories. There was the 0:20:16.130 --> 0:20:19.770 sexual sin, there was the spiritual sin, there was the 0:20:19.890 --> 0:20:23.330 social sins, and there were the self-indulgent sins, broke it 0:20:23.330 --> 0:20:27.890 down into four different sin categories and said, now, now, 0:20:27.890 --> 0:20:30.690 some of you may say, uh, all these 17, none 0:20:30.690 --> 0:20:35.890 of mine are there.
