Unemployment rate roads to 0:01:00.160 --> 0:01:02.760 point four percent. But it gets worse than that because 0:01:02.800 --> 0:01:05.520 there were other revisions that took place, and this was 0:01:05.560 --> 0:01:09.640 also a huge something that people had expected about thirty 0:01:09.680 --> 0:01:13.280 five thousand jobs. In addition, and not only did we 0:01:13.480 --> 0:01:16.399 lose a lot of jobs, no one had predicted this 0:01:16.480 --> 0:01:19.880 contraction at all. I'll break down some of what's going 0:01:19.920 --> 0:01:23.840 on in these numbers, but we also saw some revisions 0:01:23.840 --> 0:01:29.119 that went down for prior months, so we are now 0:01:29.160 --> 0:01:31.160 seeing i think three the last six months, we've seen 0:01:31.880 --> 0:01:34.480 negative job growth, which a lot of that is driven 0:01:34.520 --> 0:01:37.680 by federal workers. So three hundred and thirty thousand federal 0:01:37.760 --> 0:01:41.080 jobs since October twenty twenty four are gone. That's a 0:01:41.120 --> 0:01:44.399 net positive obviously, and they failed ten thousand in February. 0:01:44.400 --> 0:01:46.480 That's part of it, but that's not the whole picture. 0:01:47.160 --> 0:01:51.080 Other things that are noteworthy. Healthcare payrolls drop twenty eight thousand, 0:01:51.560 --> 0:01:54.960 and this is largely because physician offices lost thirty seven 0:01:55.000 --> 0:01:57.920 thousand jobs do to strike activity. And I'll tell you, 0:01:58.080 --> 0:02:00.320 in missus doctor Marlowe's line of work, this is a 0:02:00.360 --> 0:02:04.040 constant thing. She's constantly telling me who is striking at 0:02:04.080 --> 0:02:07.400 her work and what inconvenience is she's to deal with. 0:02:07.600 --> 0:02:09.600 But here's the thing. When there's a lot of strikes 0:02:09.639 --> 0:02:12.480 going on, it does feel as though she usually is 0:02:12.520 --> 0:02:16.120 only mildly inconvenienced. So when that happens, it's just going 0:02:16.160 --> 0:02:17.919 to lead to more job turnover. By far, the 0:02:34.400 --> 0:02:39.280 biggest payer into Americans healthcare system is the taxpayer, so 0:02:39.320 --> 0:02:43.239 it's the government. So complicated stuff obviously worthy of some 0:02:43.320 --> 0:02:47.600 real deep exploration on later shows. But overall, these strikes happen, 0:02:47.800 --> 0:02:49.440 and then it just reminds people that a lot of 0:02:49.440 --> 0:02:51.600 people were striking are not really worthwhile and at least 0:02:51.639 --> 0:02:53.480 the layoffs, and so we're seeing a lot of that 0:02:53.600 --> 0:02:57.480 as well. So a huge downtick in hospital jobs. A 0:02:57.560 --> 0:03:03.240 labor market also looked weak. The surface was revised down 0:03:03.360 --> 0:03:08.120 as noted, forty eight thousand was the original take on 0:03:08.600 --> 0:03:12.079 the upside now was negative seventeen thousand, so a huge 0:03:12.080 --> 0:03:16.800 adjustment there. January was still strong, but it did was 0:03:16.840 --> 0:03:19.880 revised down to one hundred and twenty six thousand new jobs. 0:03:21.080 --> 0:03:24.639 Wage growth still good, So wage growth we saw still 0:03:24.680 --> 0:03:28.840 despite the falling payrolls, people who are getting paid are 0:03:28.880 --> 0:03:32.000 getting paid more and that's good. It is outpacing inflation, 0:03:32.480 --> 0:03:35.640 which is good. And that's a positive. Perhaps there are people who are you know, 0:04:03.680 --> 0:04:06.440 hourly workers or probably some disruption and cash flow things 0:04:06.480 --> 0:04:08.720 like that. So none of that's good. But what I'm really interested here, and this 0:04:11.840 --> 0:04:13.360 is something we're gonna be tracking a lot on the 0:04:13.360 --> 0:04:17.440 show later in the month is AI. They're featured prominently in breaking 0:07:16.120 --> 0:07:19.520 the law because a lot of what they do is 0:07:19.880 --> 0:07:21.640 they're the ones who apply a lot of the pressure 0:07:21.640 --> 0:07:24.400 on Justices Alito and Thomas in their personal lives. They just try to 0:07:27.160 --> 0:07:29.680 make it seem like they're part of shadowy networks of 0:07:29.760 --> 0:07:34.720 rich conservatives. They never identify where they strayed from their principles. 0:07:34.760 --> 0:07:37.800 They never suggest one Supreme Court decision they ever would 0:07:37.800 --> 0:07:41.000 have made that went against their principles. Now I saw this, I 0:08:06.640 --> 0:08:08.600 was aware of it, but I have to admit, and 0:08:08.960 --> 0:08:10.640 this is a big omission. I did not do a 0:08:10.640 --> 0:08:12.920 deep dive on it, and I have in the last 0:08:12.960 --> 0:08:15.560 twenty four hours, and it is shocking. It is a 0:08:15.640 --> 0:08:19.120 legitimate scandal. So basically she two hundred and twenty or 0:08:19.280 --> 0:08:21.800 two hundred and forty is what is also being reported, 0:08:21.800 --> 0:08:24.400 But it's hundreds of millions of taxpayer funds that were 0:08:24.440 --> 0:08:28.280 going to ads featuring her and the company that got 0:08:28.480 --> 0:08:31.120 the most of the money, and there's three a handful 0:08:31.160 --> 0:08:35.559 different companies. They're all connected to people in gnomes Orbit 0:08:36.160 --> 0:08:38.400 and one of the companies, the one that got the 0:08:38.480 --> 0:08:42.120 Lion's share, was actually created eleven days prior to being 0:08:42.160 --> 0:08:46.079 given this massive contract, and there it was the proverbial 0:08:46.160 --> 0:08:51.000 no big contract where there was not any competition whatsoever 0:08:51.040 --> 0:08:53.880 that was posed. And this is something that of course 0:08:53.920 --> 0:08:56.360 Donald Trump frowns upon this. But it gets even more 0:08:56.640 --> 0:09:00.160 complicated and kind of ugly here is that the the 0:09:00.440 --> 0:09:03.600 chief advisor to Christy Nome is a guy named Corey Lewandowski, 0:09:03.679 --> 0:09:06.720 who I've interviewed a number of times and is someone 0:09:06.760 --> 0:09:11.000 who I voiced as an effective Republican operative, very smash mouth. 0:09:11.160 --> 0:09:13.719 He's not exactly my sort of style, but as someone 0:09:13.720 --> 0:09:16.320 who's been effective working for Trump in the past. Well, 0:09:16.920 --> 0:09:19.640 he basically was in charge of vetting all these contracts 0:09:19.960 --> 0:09:23.760 and he's deeply connected in the consultant world and also 0:09:24.000 --> 0:09:27.400 was most likely engaging in a extra marital affair with 0:09:27.480 --> 0:09:29.600 Christi Nome. That's the open secret in Washington is that 0:09:29.800 --> 0:09:32.240 they are a couple, even though they're both married not divorced. 0:09:32.640 --> 0:09:35.760 And I'm not judging that stuff. And there's 0:13:04.360 --> 0:13:06.440 one thing that's really disappointing that the company that got 0:13:06.440 --> 0:13:11.280 the most money was run by the husband of Tristia McLoughlin, 0:13:11.320 --> 0:13:13.760 who was on my podcast at least one time and 0:13:13.960 --> 0:13:16.840 was an incredible spokesperson for DHS. And you guys have 0:13:16.840 --> 0:13:20.199 seen her. She's all over TV. And she left in January, 0:13:20.640 --> 0:13:23.400 just sort of abruptly, and I was wondering what was 0:13:23.440 --> 0:13:25.880 going on. Well, this is all related because her husband 0:13:26.040 --> 0:13:29.080 apparently at least going to reports bag tons and tons 0:13:29.120 --> 0:13:31.240 of cash, probably to the tunes of tens of millions 0:13:31.840 --> 0:13:33.800 on this, which is just ripping off the taxpayer.
