0:00:03.080 --> 0:00:06.229
<v Speaker 1>This is Max Gantt with your News 24 update. Doctors

0:00:06.290 --> 0:00:09.549
<v Speaker 1>tending to injured MP Helen Haynes have provided an update

0:00:09.630 --> 0:00:12.969
<v Speaker 1>on her condition. The independent MP is now considered to

0:00:13.030 --> 0:00:17.320
<v Speaker 1>be serious but stable and no longer critical. Her husband

0:00:17.340 --> 0:00:20.440
<v Speaker 1>confirmed this week that the 65-year-old lost both of her

0:00:20.540 --> 0:00:24.119
<v Speaker 1>legs as a result of the incident. The Alfred Hospital

0:00:24.340 --> 0:00:27.510
<v Speaker 1>in Melbourne says Helen Haynes is now stable, making an

0:00:27.790 --> 0:00:33.059
<v Speaker 1>improvement in her condition. Candlelight vigils were held nationwide last

0:00:33.140 --> 0:00:37.059
<v Speaker 1>night as her family asks Australians to keep her in

0:00:37.100 --> 0:00:41.199
<v Speaker 1>their thoughts. New South Wales police have extradited a man

0:00:41.240 --> 0:00:44.650
<v Speaker 1>from Poland over his alleged involvement in a murder three

0:00:44.690 --> 0:00:48.769
<v Speaker 1>years ago. The body of a 22-year-old was found inside

0:00:48.909 --> 0:00:52.890
<v Speaker 1>a metal cabinet on the mid-north coast in 2023. Two

0:00:52.950 --> 0:00:56.990
<v Speaker 1>people were initially charged over the alleged murder before investigations

0:00:57.120 --> 0:01:01.450
<v Speaker 1>identified a third suspect who was residing in Poland. Detectives

0:01:01.480 --> 0:01:04.750
<v Speaker 1>have escorted the 26-year-old back to Sydney and charged him

0:01:05.050 --> 0:01:09.610
<v Speaker 1>with murder. He has been refused bail. Two people remain

0:01:09.690 --> 0:01:11.990
<v Speaker 1>on the run after a police pursuit came to a

0:01:12.069 --> 0:01:15.610
<v Speaker 1>fiery end in Western Sydney. Police spotted a Nissan with

0:01:15.770 --> 0:01:19.630
<v Speaker 1>stolen number plates in Cartwright yesterday before it crashed into

0:01:19.670 --> 0:01:23.890
<v Speaker 1>a Volkswagen in Bonnyrig Heights a short time later. A

0:01:23.930 --> 0:01:27.010
<v Speaker 1>man and young girl were inside the Volkswagen at the time.

0:01:27.030 --> 0:01:30.860
<v Speaker 1>They were not seriously injured. One man has been charged

0:01:30.950 --> 0:01:34.089
<v Speaker 1>so far. The AFL has gone to court to recover

0:01:34.230 --> 0:01:38.750
<v Speaker 1>a donation made to a now-collapsed charity organisation. Court documents

0:01:38.790 --> 0:01:43.550
<v Speaker 1>show the leagues donated $ 300, 000 to Disaster Relief Australia just

0:01:43.590 --> 0:01:46.709
<v Speaker 1>before it went under on March 12. The charity and

0:01:46.750 --> 0:01:49.770
<v Speaker 1>its liquidators claim the amount is not subject to any

0:01:49.930 --> 0:01:54.490
<v Speaker 1>return obligation. DRA was announced as one of the AFL's

0:01:54.650 --> 0:01:59.840
<v Speaker 1>official charity partners in April last year. Former rugby league

0:01:59.860 --> 0:02:03.140
<v Speaker 1>star and All Blacks legend Sonny Bill Williams has revealed

0:02:03.200 --> 0:02:06.610
<v Speaker 1>he was living with a potentially fatal heart condition. The

0:02:06.630 --> 0:02:10.870
<v Speaker 1>41-year-old has undergone open heart surgery after the shock diagnosis.

0:02:11.430 --> 0:02:13.570
<v Speaker 1>He has shared details of his health scare in a

0:02:13.590 --> 0:02:19.050
<v Speaker 1>24-minute video posted to YouTube. He is now raising awareness

0:02:19.210 --> 0:02:23.170
<v Speaker 1>of bicuspid aortic valves, warning the condition can go unnoticed

0:02:23.270 --> 0:02:27.700
<v Speaker 1>in people who otherwise appear fit and healthy. One person

0:02:27.740 --> 0:02:30.220
<v Speaker 1>has been killed and five others have been wounded in

0:02:30.250 --> 0:02:34.230
<v Speaker 1>a shooting rampage in France. Several drive-by shootings took place

0:02:34.270 --> 0:02:38.030
<v Speaker 1>near Paris during the spree, which lasted almost 15 minutes.

0:02:38.570 --> 0:02:41.510
<v Speaker 1>The suspect has been arrested and authorities are treating the

0:02:41.570 --> 0:02:46.970
<v Speaker 1>attack as a terrorist incident. A multi-storey building has collapsed

0:02:47.010 --> 0:02:50.410
<v Speaker 1>in Kenya as authorities fear many people are trapped under

0:02:50.430 --> 0:02:54.590
<v Speaker 1>the rubble. The building in Nairobi was under construction when

0:02:54.610 --> 0:02:58.240
<v Speaker 1>it collapsed along a busy street. in the Eastleigh neighbourhood.

0:02:58.720 --> 0:03:02.960
<v Speaker 1>Rescue operations are underway but have been complicated by looting

0:03:03.080 --> 0:03:06.640
<v Speaker 1>in neighbouring shops. Authorities are trying to access the basement

0:03:06.700 --> 0:03:10.060
<v Speaker 1>and the ground level which had operational shops. A warning

0:03:10.100 --> 0:03:13.970
<v Speaker 1>of a possible secondary collapse is also in place.
